prior to working for the sheriff's office I worked for a medium-sized uh police agency elsewhere in Arizona hey how are you guys good hey I'm just talking do you guys have a handicap placard cuz you're in a handicap spot um they the sign on this side oh they removed it okay there's no sign no it's not on that side there's a sign oh yeah they still have it painted huh it's all good I'm not complex a letter like a medical note yeah they made it so nobody can smoke on proper are you serious that's crazy well that make more sense cuz I'm like yeah I've seen you guys chilling out here before I'm like I I always wonder I'm like what are you guys doing out here but we're always in here if you need us so other than that you guys enjoy your morning enjoy the weather it's cooling down finally you guys have a good one for me I was I would say you're typical four five six-year-old boy and I wanted to be a cop but unlike most other young kids uh I didn't grow out of that so actually ever since I was probably about four years old I wanted to become a cop and that just never faded away everybody thought it would but it never did um I went to college uh for criminal justice and then I was in the military actually didn't do that in the military but um I just always wanted wanted to be a cop I loved watching copss on TV and honestly I I like the idea of helping people and possibly changing some aspects maybe people have of law enforcement by treating them with respect and uh showing them that honestly we do care most of us are human beings and we actually care and we have sympathy and give breaks so there's been a kind of a string of cattle in Snowflake getting shot and killed for no reason like literally no provoked reason there just shooting and killing cattle so and very wasteful obviously it's a felony to kill animals for no reason so this vehicle we're going to try to stop here is basically of interest um in that case so we'll see if we can have a chat with them and so actually we got the information from our Major Crimes apprehension team who have been looking into the incident cuz it hasn't just been like one or two heads of cattle being shot it's like multiple um have been shot so we'll see just trying to kind of maneuver getting a stop on this car we'll go from there 3 420 go ahead I have them on pen rod I'll stop them when we get into Lakeside trying to find a safe spot to stop them it's a super narrow rural County Road um with like no shoulders so more than anything just want to be safe where we stop them and uh they're doing 22 over which is Criminal speed um so we'll have a stop and have a chat and see what's going on the pen rod exst two with a black Nissan SUV hello how's it going hey I'm Cooper at the Sheriff's Office reason for have your registration card and insurance that'd be great so he has a firearm um obviously in Arizona we are allowed to have guns and there's no problem having a gun but in Arizona we're allowed to take temporary possession of a firearm during a traffic stop just for our safety so not a big deal we'll take possession of it hold on to it for our safety and then uh as long as everything's good to go we'll get the firearm back to them and good to go so I was going to ask you about it next time I came up too but you had a couple Twisted T's oh yes like how many is a couple uh just two two how story just didn't make a lot of sense um just kind of stuff we look out for um kind of nervous so we're just seeing if if he uh gave his consent to search the vehicle so we're just ensuring that there's nothing illegal no illegal drugs or anything else in the vehicle uh as long as there's nothing else legal in the vehicle work on just get him on his way so I'm going to I'm going to give you a warning like I told you just for the speed yes sir okay um it is Criminal speed you could actually go to jail for going that fast over I'm actually just going to give you a warning for it okay problem um the thing I do have to give you a ticket for is not having insurance on the car okay a reasoning for that is because if you get into an accident and it's your fault right exactly it's not really fair for somebody else to be stuck paying for it you know what I mean so here's your license back here's your ammo back all righty here's that we're just making sure that wasn't drug residue okay no just yeah we confirm if you want to go sit back in your car that's cool and then I'll put your gun in the back seat of the car okay problem and then you're free to leave after that okayy yeah absolutely thank you fellas yeah thank you don't drive off before I put the gun back okay so the registered owner of the silver m the register own shown that they have a warrant out of Apache County a felony warrant says Statewide extradition but not always positive on it so we'll take a look see what's going on and uh see if the register owner is driving or in the vehicle and then we'll go from there 243 traffic hello how are you good how are you good thanks hey reason for a stop isn't a big deal at all it's just for the windshield obstruction the cracked windshield not a big deal at all I'm just letting you know do you have a driver's license that and that hanging and then the cracked windshield also you can't yeah so I don't write tickets for it but I just let people know you just can't have uh anything hanging from the windshield buty I don't like I said I don't write tickets for that I just let people know and then also you need to just get your windshield fixed all that not a huge right so the passenger is a registered owner of the vehicle um but she does show have a felony warrant out of Apache County adjacent to us um with Statewide extradition so we're just going to confirm um I haven't mentioned it to her yet but we're just going to confirm um with Apache County that the warrant is extra datable basically what that means is that they if we do arror for the warrant they'll come pick her up from our Jael ex start her back to Apache County so we're going to confirm that um we have a second officer coming it's kind of standard when there's somebody with drugs or a warrant or anything like that we're going to have to take custody of somebody we'll have a second officer start our way just for safety reasons and uh yeah we'll just wait to hear back from dispatch to see if the warrant is valid if the warrant is valid and ex fitable um we'll go ahead and arrest her hook her into jail for the warrant and we'll be done with that so we're just going to wait now can you step out so I can just get your social and stuff and just step back to my car you said you're headed to a bomb place right now now yeah right now okay just set the stuff on my hood okay so do you like get your sister or somebody to get the bond for you you can get out as soon as you get get booked in okay is it's like an hour in sholo yeah in sholo okay but they won't like take you to HRI or anything if you just bond out right away okay I'm just going to put you in the back of my car okay and then uh let know yeah I'll I'll for sure I'll for sure yeah I'll let her know what's going on and then I like I promised you guys from the beginning I'm just getting a warning for the for the windshield stuff okay that's all I'm doing okay yep right here I'm just going to make sure you don't throughout the investigation the passenger out of felony warrant out of an adjacent County but basically we uh decided to place under arrest they said they'll extra it so she's going to be booked into jail for that felony warrant out of Apache County and we'll be out of here as promised from the beginning getting the driver just a warning and Equipment order for the uh windshield obstruction we'll be on our way so we're going to need a traffic stop on this black Jeep just for a suspended plate uh register owner also shows to have a felony warrant out of panell County so we'll see if it's him being straight up with you okay so come sit in my car um panel you can bond out if you have the money but can you uh uh my wife's coming over here can you tell her to I'll let her I'll let you talk to her yeah okay I'll let you talk to her okay I knew this day was coming like I knew I should have got it squared away and I I get it man and I'm and against crazy man4 and I've never been in trouble in the day in my life listen listen you're driving without a license too you're driving with no insurance you're driving with a suspended plate technically I'm supposed to tow that vehicle and impound it I get that's your only way of transportation I'm not going to do that okay I'm not going to tell understand everything that is happening here and I get you're upset man I get it the way I'm going to try to help you out as much as I can is not tow your vehicle is not impound it and I'm also not going to give you a traffic ticket for all those other things is that fair enough okay I know it sucks I'm not I'm not sitting here telling you should be happy about this because I understand right I understand I understand why you're not but I'll do what I can because you've been cooperative and cordial with me to help you out by not Heming you up by Tone the car and giving you a bunch of traffic tickets on top of all already a not ideal situation right is that fair enough okay absolutely I ideal situation uh we're just going to do a traffic stop on the silver van here um play isn't matching it's not coming back to a vehicle just a minor violation for now and we'll see if it turns into anything else being in the Circle K in Lakeside with the silver van is it stuck hey reason for a stop is just the license plate is not registered it's not coming back associated to a vehicle at all it just this was his bag so we're going to inventory it real quick before it goes into uh safekeeping at the anx and then uh get him on his way so there's some Naran it's usually indicative of druggies not always though but so I mean there's a little tiny bit of foil like like litts right here with burn residue in the bag which technically could be drug paraphernalia but I mean given the fact that it's smaller than a penny um I'm not going to charge him with that but I mean usually the Narcan along with that which would be fentanyl paraphernalia is usually pretty indicative of fentanyl use and drug use um I'll talk to him about it my guess is that he probably got rid of all the paraphernalia in his bag um either somewhere in the car that we couldn't see or um while we were behind him somewhere or possibly dumped it out on the road um when we passed the car the first time but that' be my guess um I'll talk to him about it in a second but my man do you have anything else on your person okay did you throw anything in the car no like straight up straight up okay I mean I see I have Nar Canon there because I'm not worried about it I'm not worried about it like there's n n or any registration um did a traffic stop on it upon doing a traffic stop saw the a backseat passenger jumping around and then upon approaching the vehicle saw him hiding basically in the back seat against the window um it turned out to be a mail I was familiar with um just through prior police contacts um upon running his info showed to have a warrant out a sholo police department for various offenses so um got him out placed him under arrest for that um we searched his bag that was in the vehicle um turned out to be a little small amount of drug paraphernalia in the bag but given the fact that it's so small he says it's from a long time ago um made the decision not to charge him with it so what we're going to do from here is just put transport him over to the annex where we've been twice now today uh book him in and then we'll be out of there [Music]
