Um, we looked through the window that was open and we saw a bunch of feces in one of the cages because it's supposed to go in there and we did find a deceased dog inside the house inside the trailer. >> Oh no. >> Yeah. So, we're picking all the dogs up right now. >> I'm sorry. >> Will I be going to jail at some point? >> I don't know. It depends on I'm still waiting on >> On July 13th, 2023 in Okoi, Florida, deputies responded to a tip about a property where a large number of dogs were living in unsanitary conditions. They reported a strong odor of urine and feces with 32 dogs housed in stacked wire cages, some two or three high, allowing waste to fall into bottom cages. One dog was found deceased in a shower stall alongside a living dog and several others later tested positive for parvo virus. >> A dead dog. >> A dead dog. >> There's a dead dog in there. It's in the shower along with this one. like that's a bad one. >> I'm going to go on for this one. >> I'm guessing that was mom. oop. Hey 10 to 99 babies. You okay? Oh, look at your little faces. going to have you uh run some truck. Yes. Paperon. Pepperoni. Pepperoni. Pepperoni. [laughter] I know, babies. I know. Yes. We'll get to y'all in a bit. All right. Thank you, buddy. Okay. Where's Kayla at? Where's her? >> Yeah. >> Um, >> okay. >> Do you know when the last time that anybody's been here at the property is? >> We have posted a notice yesterday at noon on the trailer door. The notice was still here. Um, we looked through the window that was open and we saw a bunch of feces in one of the cages. There's us to go in there and we did find a deceased dog inside the house, inside the trailer. >> Oh, no. >> Yeah. So, we're picking all the dogs up right now. >> Heather is supposed to be here, but I just found out she wouldn't come out. >> She's in the hospital. What about all the other people? Cuz there was a bunch of people here at one point. Um, >> okay. >> Yeah. No, I got you. >> You You don't care for the dogs or anything. It's just Heather and Kayla and whoever else will stay here in the tents. All righty. Um, are there any dogs inside this house that we're going to find? Are you okay if we walk through it here in a second? >> Yeah. Okay. >> I know at one point we heard we had not today, but we in the past she was keeping them in there. So, we just like to rule that out because we did find the dead one in the in the trailer. >> Is it fine if I check in there just to make sure so I can knock it out of my investigation? >> I really rather do not. >> Okay. All right. Well, you don't understand with these conditions, uh, there's an investigation going to have to go on. So regardless if we do or do not, a warrant will be sent out eventually. Okay. So I'm just giving you the option right now >> just to search to see if there's any more dogs in there. >> It look like the back might be a little Yeah. So, are you okay if he him and I just walk through real quick and just make sure >> Oh, yeah. >> I forgot we went out that day. >> That was >> You guys got this one all squared away? >> Yes. >> Animal IDs, photos of everybody. >> Yep. >> Okay. >> Um Rebecca, if you want to run that one in the face. >> Okay. Yeah. >> No, I know that we made contact with you at a different address before officer Sorz did. So, we understand you're not involved, but you know, you're here now. So, we just want to make sure that you know there's no other animals that might be without a homeless pass away. Are you wanting to meet us over on this side or follow you? Okay. Okay. Come on. You don't want to come. I'm going to shoot the [ __ ] >> 3197. >> I'm coming out. >> Okay. Hi. >> Hi. How are you? >> All right. I'm going to have to talk to you outside the gate. >> Okay. Is this one of y'all's cars? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I'm Deputy Risser. >> Uhhuh. and I've been assigned the case on 230 Silverstar Road. >> Okay. >> So, you're not going to jail today. So, get that out of your head. >> Okay. >> I'm just trying to do follow-ups to find out really what's >> Will I be going to jail? >> I'm sorry. >> Will I be going to jail at some point? >> I don't know. It depends on I'm still waiting on stuff from animal services and everything else. So, >> So, the place at 230 Silverstar >> Uhhuh. Was that where you were living or? >> I was. >> Okay. So, you're doing a rescue with >> Kyla. Kaylee. How do you say her name? Is it Kyla? >> Kyla. >> Kyla. So, explain to me what's going on there. >> She was doing independent rescue. I was definitely helping her. Obviously, I live there. When the dogs were taken, though, I was in and out of the hospital and here. I hadn't been home since Sunday or Monday. So the >> are y'all like a true rescue or >> 501c? No, >> you just took dogs in, turn around, sold them as whatever. Okay. So of the 30 I think it was 33 dogs. How many did you have or were you responsible for? >> Five. And >> those are your dogs. Okay. >> Four plus one of them was registered to me. Yeah, >> Bear. He was registered to me, so I take responsibility for that. And then my four dogs. >> I'm sorry. >> And Bear, he was registered to me. He was chipped to me. I adopted him out of um Pulk County. And then my four the three pitbulls, the three female pitbulls and the Akita. >> Okay. Um, so the the dogs that were in the kennels, I know most of those are actually fine. >> Mhm. >> Um, yeah, I know they've all been OCSA approved, these shelters. And >> yeah, I've been keeping track. There's eight left there. There's two in foster, there's two that are rescue only, and there's six up for adoption of the dogs. >> Oh, okay. So, The dogs that were in the trailer, were y'all living in the trailer or in the main house? >> So, the dogs that were in the trailer, I know, five of them tested positive for part and then one was deceased when they got there. So, any were any of those yours? knowing I didn't know they were sick when I left. I wouldn't have laughed. I escaped and took care of the dogs instead of taking care of myself. I didn't know they were sick. I wouldn't have left. And I don't know if she knew they were sick or not. I definitely didn't. I would have left the baby sick. >> Okay. Well, I'm not a vet, so I don't know if a dog comes out of paro what the symptoms are, what what they're not. Um, did y'all keep vet records or anything? on these dogs or >> they're in the RV still. >> So, like most of the dogs were on rabies shots and Okay. >> As far as I know, Kyla did most of the vetting. Well, she did all of the vetting. She dealt with all of the financials. She dealt with all of the vetting. I just helped take care of them. Um, >> really the ones that I took care of are the bigger dogs that were housebroke. I walked them a couple times today and I made sure they were fed. >> So on these here, can you tell me which one was that? Your dog? >> No. Oh my god. >> Oh god. Her. >> Is that yours? >> No, she's not mine. But I took care of her. [snorts] >> Okay. >> [snorts] >> She didn't test positive for her. So, >> no, she's not one of the ones. Marble and the two puppies and then the two boss things are the parbo ones. Oh my god, look at her. No, they look horrible. No, he's so scared. That's one of the ones I took care of. Hand him. >> That's yours. Another one you taking off? >> Yeah. >> All the big dogs that go for walks to go to the bathroom. I can't believe they were all sitting in there like that. No. Like they're not my dogs, but I took care of them. No, he was outside. >> He was inside. I didn't take your hand. >> I'm sorry. I didn't know. >> No, [snorts] I don't think you're >> copy. Cadillac. >> Cadillac. Yeah, like yours. That's Marvel and the puppies. I took care of her. I know they're the ones, but I don't take care of him. >> Not yours. All right. >> No. No. The only ones that are mine are the three tit bulls and Stella and Bear. That's Stella. >> That's yours. >> Yeah. All of her vet records are at um Dr. Fine in Winter Garden. >> Mhm. >> She's up to date on everything. No, I took care of her, but that's not mine. That's camo. That's one of mine. >> That is yours. >> Yeah, that's camo. I know. One of the questions is these vaccines. This is Kimo Zena. I don't >> Yeah, I have copies of >> They just expired like 3 days before this. That's Ally. >> Are they yours? >> Yeah. That's Cena. She's mine. Your back looks better. >> I thought she's not mine, but I took care of her. You know, they're going to put her down. He's not mine. How many did you say you had? Four. >> Four. Five. Including bear. >> Which one was bear? >> Nothing. >> No. Which one was Bear? >> He was outside. We didn't get to him yet. No, that's four. [snorts] Which dog is that? That might be bear. I can't tell on that picture. I would say Yeah, that's bear. Yellow, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So when y'all got these dogs in, I mean, what did we do? >> Her family's not going to know I talked to you, right? >> Well, unless they pull a copy of the report. But >> I didn't bring any of these socks in. I was talking about them. I helped take care of them. She dealt with all of it. The bringing them in, the finding people to adopt them, the finding fosters, all of it. All the financial, all the food, everything. She dealt with all of that. [snorts] >> Okay. So, you're mainly acting like an employee. >> Okay. And I know she's not. So when you went on the hospital on the 7th or the 8th, whatever day you went to the hospital, you told Kyla that >> I was going to the hospital. Yeah. >> You were not going to be there to take care of the dogs. >> Yeah. >> Is anybody else come and assume any kind of responsibility for the dogs or >> her boyfriend when they would come together and he would do the outside dogs and she would do the inside dogs. >> Is that uh Michael. >> Yeah. >> Michael Bruce. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, you told Kayla you're going to the hospital. You went to the hospital that same day. >> I let her know from the hospital. I had called 911 to come and get me. Couldn't breathe. I couldn't breathe. There was nothing I could do about it. And when I got him out of the hospital, I came here so that I could just relax and get better. But she knew I was coming here. She knew I was coming here. And then I went back to the hospital and I was admitted. I was in the hospital when they went and took the dogs. >> Her grandmother, was that McCloski or grandmother? Marian. >> Yeah. Yeah. She said you're in the hospital. She just couldn't tell us what hospital you were in. So, um, so the dogs are in the trailer. >> Uhhuh. >> I mean, I'm going to be honest with you. The conditions are kind of deplorable, but >> I've seen some of the pictures. >> I'm sorry. >> I've seen some of the pictures. >> So, did all the dogs in the trailer actually get a chance to get out and get fresh air? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Because I know there was no food or water when animal services got there. But >> and she told me even after they were there, she told me she was there the night before. There's no way they should have been out of food and water if she was there the night before. If she was there within 12 hours, there's no way they would have been out of food and water. And there's no way she wouldn't have known they were sick. >> Okay. So, when y'all are taking care of the dogs in the trailer, I know you're telling me, you know, you got the dogs out, you walk the dogs or whatever. Did we clean the cages and >> Well, yeah. I would clean the cages that the big dogs were in if they needed to be cleaned. They usually didn't because they're all house broke. >> How about the little dogs? >> I didn't do the little dogs. Every now and then, like if she would tell me, you know, she's not going to be there, I would do the little dogs. or if they were just, you know, clearly needed done and she wasn't there. I did them. When I left, all the cages were clean. Everybody had food and water. Nobody was sick. >> Okay. >> My own dogs were in there. I would never I've had Ally for 9 years. Camu and Zena for five. I would never. They've already asked me to tell you guys that it was a misunderstanding and that I thought she was there and she thought that I was there and that's not true. I have the proof. I have I have messages back and forth between us. She didn't think I was there. She knew I wasn't there and she was telling me that she was and dogs died because of it. And my dogs are gone. He wasn't the only one that died. They had to put Rose down. One of them puppies that was with Marble had to He died. Baby room is probably going to be neutronized. Buster is going to be neutronized. It's not right. >> No, it's really not. But >> she should have never got all those dogs or she couldn't take care of them or didn't want to. >> Oh, this rose. He >> was very sick. They left. So, >> but we've had dogs before >> when you were there before you went to the hospital cuz they found the the deceased dog in the shower >> along with uh one of the other little dogs. >> Is that where they normally stayed or >> they stayed in there? Yeah. >> Yeah. There was no room. >> Okay. And then when you left on the 9th or 10th, whatever day you left, those dogs were were still alive. >> Yeah, they were fine. They were fine. Yeah, they were fine cuz they came out and ran all over and he pissed all over everything. They were fine. It's the male that died. He came out and jumping all over the place. He was fine. >> They take it with you in Thailand. >> Yeah. Yep. Me and Tyl 30 dogs. It's a lot. >> That is a lot of dogs. So, >> it's a lot. It's a lot to keep up with. It's a lot. And I've been telling her it's too much. >> So, what do you think Kyla's going to say when I go talk to her? >> I have no idea. She's probably going to tell you it was all me. She'll probably tell you it was all me to save her own ass. I was an addict. >> Okay. So, where are you getting all your food and stuff from? Are those all donations or? >> A lot of donations. Yeah, >> a lot of donations. Kyler comes up with a lot of money. [snorts] Okay. And you don't want to write a statement? >> I don't want her family to know that I even told you anything. Telling you to harass me is bad. [snorts] Really bad. If it comes down to it and we have to go to court, obviously I'll write a statement. I'll whatever. But right now, like I haven't even got all my stuff. My truck is still over there. It's problems I don't need right now. And I know that makes your job difficult and you can't use anything that I say and I know that. [clears throat] Okay. Well, just a sort of keep you updated on >> if it comes down to it and I have to where I write write a report I will >> I can't force you to write a statement so >> I know >> if it comes down to it though and I have to write one I will march >> so when was the last time you actually saw her there taking care of the dogs >> a day or two before I went to the hospital the day before cuz she was there that night and we did all the dogs. >> So, does she normally like come in today and not come in for a couple days or was she pretty much there every day or >> pretty much there every day taking care of the dogs? >> So, it wasn't unusual for her. It was very unusual for her to not come in for 3 days. >> Yeah. >> So, over the 3 days that or four days that you were in the hospital, >> she was telling me she was there. Okay. So, I got you into this with Kyla. You just wanted to work with dogs or >> Yeah, I love dogs. Once upon a time, I was breeding, which is, you know, Ally, Camo, and Zena. Ally is the mom. Camo, and Zena are puppies out of her last litter. Her last litter was 5 years ago. [snorts] >> So, I didn't do this. I bred. But then I saw how big the problem was and I quit breeding and started helping Kyla and then it just got worse and worse and she needed more and more help and she was worse and worse on the drugs. She was in jail end of March, beginning of April. She was in jail for 17 days. I had all the dogs by myself. It wasn't as many, but I had all the dogs by myself. And then when she got out of jail, she started overdosing. And she was overdosing in the RV. And I was the only one there. And it just got worse and worse. And this I I can tell you right now, this this is a part of the she started doing heroin and math about 4 weeks before 3 4 weeks before this happened. And that's the problem is she was just so strung out. She didn't care anymore. >> It was not like this. It No, it never. >> It was a lot of dogs. >> I don't know when she's getting out of jail. I mean, she's still in jail on her bond. So, >> yeah. Well, she had court today. She has court next Friday. And then the week after that on the dogs ordinance >> that'll be for the probably for the the fines and everything for the neglect part of it. So that I really don't know nothing about. So >> all right. Well, like I said, I will uh be back in touch >> right there. >> Okay. >> Okay, Miss Hither. I appreciate it. Thank you very much. >> All right.
