Um, yes, say something. He's telling me to get >> Honestly, I'm not going to tell you again. I don't understand I understand that, but I understand that, but am I under arrest? What am I getting out of the car for? I don't have no problem. Why are you TOUCHING NO, I'M NOT WITH I'M NOT DOING NOTHING. THEY SAY A NAME CAN define a person's [music] destiny, but on the morning of November 19th, 2024, a woman named Honesty decided to test that theory by being anything but. What should have been a standard roadside chat in Volusia County, Florida, turned into a full-blown dramatic production. [music] When a deputy spotted a suspended license and an expired tag, he probably [music] expected a simple ticket exchange, but instead, he got a front row seat to a [music] master class in self-sabotage and circular logic. Hello. Honesty? Yes, sir. Hey, and your license is suspended, right? Oh, I'm on a I didn't know that. I didn't know I didn't know that. Okay, your license has been suspended since May. I didn't know that. I'm not aware of that. I'm on a I'm on a Do you have your license just so I can confirm your honesty, please? Yes, sir. And I'm not under arrest or anything like that? No, not right now. Okay, well, I have a cousin in there. I would rather him BK. I don't need your cousin. I just need your license. >> Okay, I understand that, but I'm not I wasn't driving. He told me I don't have my license suspended. I'm parked. I'm at Friendly Way and they just pulled behind me. I didn't even know my license is suspended. And then now he's trying to aggressively act weird and stuff. What are you looking for? You're in my car? Can you get out for me, please? Sir. Get out. Um, yes, say something. He's telling me to get out of the car. to tell you again. Get out of the car or you're going to I understand that, but am I under arrest? What am I getting out of the car for? I don't have no problem. Stop talking and listen. Stop talking and listen, Honesty. Listen to me. I don't need to talk to that guy on the phone. What's the reason why you're pulling me Listen. No, I I know my law. Like you're trying to arrest me for no reason. That's fine. Look at him pulling me for NO REASON. LIKE WHY IS HE TOUCHING ME? WHY ARE YOU TOUCHING ME? NO, I'm not with this He said COME GET I'M NOT DOING NOTHING. I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW NOW YOU'RE GOING TO JAIL. I CAN GIVE YOU MY INFORMATION. I'M NOT RESISTING. NO, STOP TOUCHING YOUR BODY. MY BROTHER WAS TALKING TO ME, BRO. Y'ALL DON'T DO THAT. Y'ALL NASTY. STOP touching your body. I don't have no problem giving it to you, bro. That's nasty. I've been arresting me SINCE I'VE BEEN HARASSING Y'ALL BY GIVING MY BROTHER HIS MONEY. I'M FOR PROBATION, BRO. All right, relax. I'm I'm good, sir. Can I Fix the car. I'm good, sir. Yeah, I didn't know my license was suspended. I was not aware. It's okay. I didn't I wasn't aware. Can I please go TO B, COME HERE. NO, you're going to stay over there. WHY ARE Y'ALL ARRESTING ME, BRO? WE DON'T NEED TO TALK. THEY PULLED BEHIND ME ILLEGALLY, BRO, for no reason. GIVE THE CAMERA HEY, BUDDY. HEY, RUN YOUR CAMERAS BACK, PLEASE. HEY, GET OVER HERE AND RECORD THE CAMERAS. RELAX. I WAS PARKED, BRO. I WASN'T EVEN DRIVING. DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING ON YOU? I don't have nothing, sir. Okay. That sudden jump from talking to physical resistance flipped the whole mood instantly. [music] One moment it was chatter, the next moment it was chaos. She kept insisting [music] she wasn't resisting, while her actions said the exact opposite. Like saying, "I'm on a diet." while holding a burger. On the camera. Get me on camera, please. I'm working on that. >> Okay, thank you. You got the cameras. Thank you. Thank you. He got the cameras. I didn't even know my license was suspended. What's up, man? I'm sorry. Don't worry about it. Was [snorts] she driving earlier? No, she wasn't driving. Okay, I saw her in the driver's seat. She has a suspended license. So, she's not supposed to be driving. We have to tow the car. So, we can inventory it. Is there anything in there that's yours? I'm going to just look around. >> No, no, no. Not yet. >> Oh, Do you have anything in there that's yours? Okay. Just hang tight. If there's anything that you need out of the car, we'll see if I can get it to you, okay? Yo, what what was the reason WHY DID Y'ALL WHY DID But she was not driving, right? Huh? She was not driving, right? We witnessed her driving in the parking lot. We were going to wait for her to leave, but then she decided to stay here, so that's why we're in the parking lot. No, she not decide to I'm not interrupting you, okay? She was not the trying to drive. It was they were waiting for the food here. Okay. Still they waiting. Still not making it. I understand. She was driving prior to this year. I don't know They say I can get the phone. All over a suspended license. We're not Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why are you over here? Her brother wanted to know what did she do wrong. So, just a suspended license. That's what we're talking to her about. I understand that, cuz she's trying He's trying to tell you what he's saying. Watching the deputy explain the situation to the guy was like watching a tired teacher deal with a playground dispute. [music] It didn't matter if she was waiting for food or a miracle, physical control of the car with a suspended license is a one-way ticket to trouble. We asked her to get out of the car. She refused to get out. She's resisting. So, is [laughter] she just detained right now or She's under arrest right now at this point. What is she under arrest for? Resisting without violence and driving on a suspended license. Okay, that's fine. Just listen. I'm the owner of I'm the owner of Friendly Way. Just listen. She was in the driving seat. So, license She was going to get out of the vehicle. Correct. And then you Did you see her trying to fight us when we were dealing with that? That's why I was wondering what happened. I didn't see no She was trying to turn around on us and basically pushed us off of her cuz she was resisting when we asked her to get out of the car. So, then we had to put her in handcuffs. Give me that. We don't have a choice when they start pulling away and start pushing off of us. It's just that car is like No, you don't got There's a lot wrong with the door and stuff, so I don't know. She was trying to probably get out the car and they probably just looked at the car. It wasn't quite like that. Everything we do is on camera. It was worth her going to jail. That's what I'm saying. Like it We're saying it's not worth going to jail, but if she's going to make us take her to jail over a license issue, we have no problem doing that. We don't want to take her to jail over a suspended license. We want to give her a ticket and see see you. But if she's going to act the way she did, she kind of puts us in a bind. Because they ran the car, cuz the car towed it. Cuz I'm not letting nobody tell me nothing, bro. If you come up here and turn up, you can check it out yourself, cuz it's not I didn't do [ __ ] bro. Oh god, bro. Who Why are you saying you didn't do nothing? I'm trying to tell HIM, MAN. WHY ARE YOU SAYING that to me, bro? And I'm telling you what the [ __ ] is going on. This [ __ ] is horrible, regardless, cuz I'm just telling you how the how they're doing this The level of entitlement was off the charts as [music] Honesty and her brother tried to play defense attorney. The deputies were actually trying to be cool, explaining that a simple ticket could have solved this if she hadn't chosen to turn up the heat. [music] It's exhausting how some people think they can fight the law with a loud voice and a bad attitude. I can't control how they're putting it. This is what I'm trying to tell you. Yo, all she would have got was a ticket for her suspended license. She refused to get out of the car. She's going to jail for resisting. It was a ticket for a suspended license. This is what I'm trying to tell you. >> [laughter] >> Bro, listen. Who is that guy to you? That's my cousin. Would you like him to take your purse and stuff? Yes, I do. And why am I going to jail? For resisting. I wasn't resisting, sir. I didn't know you were coming up. I had no idea. I look like a cop, right? This is my first time dealing with this, sir. You see the big star? Stop talking and listen, okay? Stop talking and listen, okay? Your license is suspended. All I would have done Stop. All I would have done was Are you going to let me talk or no? All I would have done was give you a ticket. When I tell you to get out of the car, stop talking and listen, okay? When we tell you to get out of the car, you have to get out. You refused to get out. You pulled away and you tensed your body, okay? You put your handcuffs in front of you? Because my my MY ARM WAS I moved around. I could I'm double-jointed. I can do that. >> Okay. I'm telling you right now I'm not trying to leave or resist or run away or anything like You're under arrest. I'm sorry. I'm not All you're All you're going to jail for is for [ __ ] [ __ ] that you caused. Sir, I was getting out and I grabbed my ID. My brother was on the phone at the same time If she's double-jointed, she says so. Would you mind if you have a third party? And I was telling you I have a 8-minute Can you just get a tow truck, please? Sir, sir. I wanted to get out of here. Cuz that's not right, bro. I've been trying to tell And this is my first time dealing with this. All it was was a ticket. I don't know why you acted that way. I never got arrested, sir. I can give you any information you ask for. My brother was on the phone. Honesty's logic was truly in a league of its own when she claimed she didn't know the officer was a cop. He was literally standing there in a uniform, but she was still playing the first time card [music] like it was a get-out-of-jail-free pass. She was truly her own worst enemy, [music] causing so much chaos that didn't need to happen. And I'm going to pull the cameras back. I swear to god I'm going to and a report asking by my name. I've done did it before. I will go over y'all and write a report on every single last one of y'all. You already KNOW YOU RAN MY TAG, BUT I SEEN YOU all right, and then you turned around and ran back to come back. I seen you. I seen you the whole time. I swear to god I'm going to write a report on you. That's fine. The clerk thinks he can calm her down. Who? The clerk. If he wants. There's nothing else that can change what I told you. They just give you a favor to talk to you. Usually they don't do, right? Okay, can you listen to me? Yes. Huh? Mhm. Okay, don't kick the car. Just listen to me. Okay, just listen to me. Don't do anything. Don't raise your volume. Just keep No, I won't I understand. Just listen to me. They give you a big favor. So, I'm just telling you don't kick the car. Don't yell it. Just still listen what they say. Okay? All right, just keep quiet. That's fine. Clear? Don't make any noise. Don't use any pattern words. Nothing. Just keep quiet. Maybe they will leave you. Maybe not. We'll see. If If you go to the jail, if you get the bond same day. Listen. No, I understand. I'm talking to your I don't know who's on the phone. Relax and keep quiet. Don't get angry. Don't get hit or don't raise your volume, okay? Keep quiet. Relax. You hear me? Yes, sir. That's good. Do you have the cameras, sir? I do. I do. No problem. Yeah. And what are you doing with that bag? The weed that was in your car? No, I didn't have no weed. So, what What are you talking about the weed that was in my car? The weed that was in the sunglasses holder? I'm sorry? I do not have no weed, sir. Okay. Well, I didn't just pull this out of my pocket. Sir, I don't know what are you doing cuz I need to watch you cuz you behind the camera doing stuff. I don't trust you. Okay. >> pulled me out for no reason. I do not trust you at all. The clerk actually tried to play peacemaker, which was a [music] nice gesture for someone who was clearly beyond help. He begged her to keep quiet and stop kicking the car, hoping a little silence might save her from extra charges. Usually cops [music] don't give people this many chances to calm down, but Honesty was too busy being obnoxious to listen. She's going to have to chill out. We're going to call her back. Put the cuffs on the front. Hey. What is my charge, officer? He didn't tell you? No, he didn't tell me nothing. He was really mean, and I'd rather be with a female because I don't like you. Let me speak to you. Calm. This is my first warning, and y'all doing all of this. I didn't resist him, sir. I got This is my first time. >> You're asking me questions and not letting me talk. It doesn't make any sense. Okay, so you're being charged with resisting without violence and driving on a suspended license. Not the end of the world. It didn't have to go this way, but that's what appears to be happening. I'm going to get some cameras cuz I didn't resist him at all. >> You're more than welcome to. You slipped your cuffs to the front. You're going to be searched. >> I got double I'm double jointed like double jointed in my arms. I moved them around, sir, cuz it was hurting me. I did do that. >> So, your arms were behind your back for a reason. >> jointed, sir. I put them in the front of me. I'm not trying to run away. I'm not resisting y'all or anything like that. I I'd rather talk to her. This is my first time dealing with this. >> going to search you. Okay. >> search me. She can search my drawers. She can go in my underwear. She can do whatever she wants. >> need to relax. You just need to relax a little bit, okay? >> This is my first time, and y'all doing the most. I'm finna get a charge for what? What do you tell me to get out? I'll get out now. Come on Come on, search me. Can Can I have a female search for me, please? Can I please have a female search for me? I don't I don't want to deal with him. >> Relax, okay? No, and I'm I'm going to make sure I get those cameras as soon as I get out today, and I'm going to report him cuz he didn't have to do this stuff. Okay, I'm sorry. Now, I seen him turn around the first time. Talk about resisting an officer. I didn't resist you. I was getting out. How both of y'all talking to me and I'm on the phone with my brother. He didn't even know my license was suspended. All he had to tell me was, "Okay, your license is suspended." I was cooperating with him. He was telling me all my information I needed. Can I have somebody else search for me, please? >> No. I don't want to be with him. The sheriff's office will be here Okay, I don't want to deal with him. I'm going to report him. No, cuz y'all want me to be with this man. I don't want to be with him. Somebody else can search for me or ask for y'all sergeant to come and search for me, please, cuz I didn't do nothing to this man. She was more worried about getting a female transfer than the fact that she was headed to a holding cell. >> [music] >> Her actions continued to add more problems to her case, yet she remained focused on arguing. The deputy's patience was officially at its limit. Can I help you? Can I help you, ma'am? Okay. But, I'm asking how can I help you? Okay, so um she's already wound up, so I don't really want to continue the interaction with her getting upset cuz that's how she's acting. If she damages my vehicle, you can let her know that she's going to get charged with uh the criminal mischief for the pounding on my door she's been doing. So, her license is suspended. It's been suspended since May. We're in November now. Um she was in the driver's seat in the parking lot, so >> driving? In the So, in the There's case law that if there's access to a public roadway when they have physical control of the vehicle that they are in violation of the suspended license. >> Okay. She was the only person in the car. She was in the driver's seat, and she had possession of the keys to the vehicle. Okay. >> All right. So, her license is suspended. We tried going Well, I tried going up to her >> Be quiet. Be quiet. >> I tried going up to her and explaining that her license is suspended. That's only a ticket. All we do is give tickets for that. >> Okay. And then she was on the phone with her brother, whoever it was, that started getting her all amped up. I asked her to give me her license so I can confirm that she was the registered owner of the vehicle. She answered to Honesty, which is her name, and she refused to give me her license. I asked her several times to give it to me. She didn't. I asked her to get out and tried to explain to her multiple times, but instead of listening to me, she listened to whoever she was on the phone with. She refused to get out, so we had to remove her out of the car. There's also case law supporting that if law enforcement tells you to get out of the vehicle for whatever reason, you have to do so. If you refuse to do so, it's resisting without in the state of Florida. So, she has a suspended license, the resisting. We inventory her car because her car has to be towed per the state of Florida because her license is suspended, probably because she does not have insurance. tag holder on it, so we have to take the tag off of it because There's I know that when there's no insurance, I know they have to take the tag. Yes, ma'am. When her aunt arrived, the officers broke everything down like an open book. Every step made sense. Every action had a reason. She literally talked herself straight into jail, proving she was her own enemy. Even her aunt tried to calm her down, but by then, the situation had already gone too far. So, during the inventory of the vehicle, she had uh there's like a blunt in her um purse, and then there's a small bag of weed in the sunglasses um visor in the top center console there. How much of weed How much weed was it? It was 2 g of weed, but it's still a misdemeanor in the state of Florida. It's not that big of a deal, and we probably wouldn't have had one of those three charges if all she did was get out of the car and listen. We would have gave her a court date for the weed. We would have gave her a court date for her license, and that is it. But, when you resist, and then when we got her out of the car, she's tensing up and pulling away from the both of us while we're trying to take her into custody. We try to do everything as safely as possible to avoid people from hurting themselves there in Franklin. Can I have your cards? Sure. He'll get you one with my information on it as well. So, she's going to go to jail for three misdemeanors. She'll have a $1,500 bond. I'm almost done with the paperwork, and then she'll be processed through the jail. Do you have any other questions, ma'am? No, but her brother called me and said to come up here cuz something's going on, so I came to make sure cuz I'm her aunt I'm her aunt. >> All she had to do was listen, and we would have gave her a court date, and we wouldn't be in this situation. She could have dealt with this in court instead of going to jail over this. So, she escalated it to a point of unfortunately we can't do anything else to help her, so Okay. Um when Just tell him to come down so she can calm down. I'll calm her down. When he comes >> Just tell him to come down a little bit. That's all. I don't want to get Yeah, he's going to come and hang out with you. We obviously have to make sure nothing's passed through the window. And then you can talk to her through the So, my handwriting's awful, but Deputy Franklin and then Deputy Berry. Thank you. Just calm down. You get to keep quiet cuz they're trying to charge you with something else. Just be quiet. I'm quiet. He's trying to charge you with damaging his car. I didn't do anything to it. >> Where your kids at? My baby is at daycare. I just want you to calm down so they don't charge you with anything else. Okay? Mhm. All right. Thank you. 10-4, 21 central transport. In the end, Honesty proved that a name is just a label, not a personality trait. She spent the entire time fighting a battle she had already lost the second she got behind the wheel with a suspended license. It was a [music] textbook example of how a lack of cooperation can turn a minor inconvenience into a life-altering criminal record. Honesty found herself booked on charges of possession of cannabis under 20 g, driving with a suspended license, and [music] resisting an officer without violence. She also racked up a citation for failing to provide proof of insurance. In court, she [music] eventually chose to plead no contest to the resisting charge. The judge decided to withhold adjudication, meaning she avoided a formal conviction on her record provided she followed the rules. However, [music] the stunt cost her a total of $423 in fines and fees. Since she couldn't pay up front, she ended up on a payment plan. >> [music] >> If you enjoyed the video, make sure to like the video and share it with your friends.
