in the car. >> No. No. You're not going to bring me. I want to walk away from this. Those are my hands behind your back. >> All right. No. I I'm not being arrested. >> No. Give me a charge. Give me a charge. >> On December 3rd, 2022, a holiday celebration turned into a total disaster when Beth Annefrey decided to treat a family Christmas parade like an open bar. Officers arrived to find a scene that [music] was anything but jolly with a mother. so intoxicated she was picking fights with her [music] own children. Instead of making holiday memories, she was busy making a massive scene in front of the local library. It was a messy situation that left [music] two kids fleeing to their grandfather just to feel safe. >> What are you driving? >> Toyota Sienna. What color? >> Red. >> Red. Okay, we'll look out. We'll look out after for you. Here you go. >> Here you go, guys. >> Thank you, sir. Thank you so much. >> Okay, you're Thank you. >> Okay, so they're going to go with grandpa, right? >> Okay, >> I'll look out for the red. Why don't you two come on over here? If you're going to go with them, just >> Okay, >> I'm sure they're going to be okay. I'm going to walk them out towards the road. So, okay. >> Why don't you just sit down cuz you're intoxicated. Sit down. >> Sit down. You're intoxicated, right? >> Come first, right? >> I understand. I'm not intoxicated. You are. >> I said >> I understand. >> Now we'll move on. >> I will I will move on. >> Well, then you have >> Don't run out until I get him stopped. Okay. So, I don't want you guys getting run over by a car. So, >> does he have c your grandfather have custody of you? Okay. Both of you? >> Yeah. >> So, she doesn't, right? >> No. Okay. >> Like legal custody and stuff. Okay. >> She live in town, your mom. >> Well, she's staying I think somewhere in Bradington. I'm not really sure. >> And she had to take like a bus all the way just to meet us. And everything was going >> You're in front of the main library. >> Everything was going like amazing. And then >> he said he's in front of the main library >> until like we went to 7-Eleven. She got him here. Now >> that was Yeah, that's when I went down. >> Yeah, that's where I >> Yeah. that she dropped the beer and then she got a can of beer instead. >> Right here next to you. >> Hold on. Oh, hey. Stop right there. Hold on. Hold on. >> Come on. Come on. Come on. Over to the passenger side. I'm going to let let him in the other door. >> All right. You're good. She's intoxicated. >> Those kids didn't need to see their mom chugging beer in the middle of a festival. It was heartbreaking to hear them call her an addict while she sat there denying everything. The officer tried to be patient, but Beth Anne's brain was clearly on a different planet. She actually thought she could just walk away after ruining the night. >> We left her behind. >> She's an addict. >> I know. That's all right. Okay. All right, guys. Have a better night. >> Now, please officers, can I just walk away? Let me just walk away from this situation. No, because you just made everything so much harder than it needed to be. >> Those are my hands behind your back. >> All right. No, I don't I'm not being arrested. >> Just put your hand back. Stop. >> But I'm not being arrested for being You're being detained right now. >> Wait, are you smart? >> Maybe. There you go. >> She's tried getting up several times. So, got in handcuffs. We're waiting for zonian to come out here. They were with grandma and grandpa. >> Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Wink wink. >> Candy pill bottle with her name on it. >> It's two pill bottles with my name. It's Gavapen. I can count them for you. >> Yeah, it's 108. You >> got a Florida ID? >> Yes, I do. It's always it's always the one last cop said it's always you know it's always reduction. Can I just I'm just walking away. >> I just want >> Look, those are my pills. I just want to walk away. Look, I didn't do anything wrong. My daughter called grandpa cuz she was scared and now I'm extremely nervous. >> No, I'm not. Let me go. >> It's a Christmas parade, >> correct? >> I can tell you're when I heard you yelling when I walked by earlier. But it's a Christmas parade. I'm allowed to be drunk. Okay. I'm allowed. I'm going to show you a care for yourself and your children. >> And I was and my dad came. >> Yeah, I was. >> Why? Blasted right now. >> Standing up. You're going to take me. You're going to take me. I'm standing up. >> I didn't do anything wrong. I have no warrant. I didn't do anything wrong. >> Do I have a warrant? >> I don't know. You have an >> I don't I told you I have no warrant and I didn't do anything wrong. I mean, let me go. Don't tell me you stupid. Please, please. >> Is there anyone on this globe who didn't know she had no warrant? Because Bethanne made sure to scream it about 50 times. She claimed she was allowed to be drunk because it was a Christmas parade, [music] which is top tier logic for someone who clearly has a problem. The cops found pill bottles in her bag, making it obvious that this was more than just alcohol. Yet, she kept demanding to be let go like she was the victim. I love more and more. >> Where do you live at? >> How much do you drink? A >> little bit. >> We're finding out the best solution for you. >> Okay. >> I want to be wrong. stages probably as well. >> I don't have I'm not trying to be an example for you guys, but please let me out of this. >> Please, it's up to you. >> I have no warrant. I didn't get a charge. >> My name is Bethanne. I have no warrant. I didn't catch a charge. Don't be trying to pull me out. Something stupid. Please. Please. >> You're not getting any charge. You're just going into a hospital. You need to sober up. So, you need to go be >> I'm sober enough. That just sobered me up. Do you understand what I'm saying? That just sobered me up enough. I have no warrant, no new charges. Please let me go. Get him off my back. Come on. I've been really kind. Please. We're just going to walk away. Go to the bus stop. Get another beer. Please, you guys. Come on. >> Why are you getting so drunk when you got your kids out here anyway? Like, you got to think about that stuff. >> I'm not going to answer that. >> Well, exactly. >> But you should think about Can you please look, please? I didn't do anything wrong. I don't have a warrant. I committed no crimes. I never hurt anybody. >> Please, with this whole detox, just take him off. I'll walk down the street. I'll get a drink. No, cuz >> cuz I'm not going to be hold liable when you fall or get hit by a car. >> You're not going to Oh, really? You You know what? People might have fallen right now and been hit by a car. And you know why? While you're s standing here, they might have fallen. >> Have a seat. Have a seat. >> I did nothing wrong. I think we're ready to go. >> Have a seat. Where you going? >> Not nowhere. What? I committed no crimes and I don't have a warrant. Bethanne pulled a classic move, claiming that getting arrested suddenly made her sober. Sorry, honey. That's not how biology works. It was honestly sickening to watch her ignore the fact that her own children were terrified of her behavior. The officers were just trying to keep her from stumbling into traffic, but she was too busy being a toddler. >> I know the law and I committed no crimes and I want my lawyers right now. >> I committed no crimes. Do I have a war? I won't. That's great. I asked you so I was going to jail for 15 crimes already. >> I said I didn't commit. I said I didn't commit a crime. I said I have no war. Stop. >> No my stuff. >> We got your stuff. >> Stop acting silly. >> I committed no crime. >> I have no warrant. >> Goddamn large. >> But I'm not dead. >> Have a seat all the way in. >> All right. vehicle. >> If I'm going to commit a crime, might as well commit one, right? >> Have a seat all the way. >> Okay. I don't think so. No. You guys want to charge me? Charge me. >> I have being charged. >> It's okay. You guys are strong. >> Let's get in the car. >> No. No. You're not going to blame me. I want to walk away from this. >> I want to walk away. Let me walk away. >> GET IN THE CAR. >> YOU GUYS HAVE so many people. Can I walk away? Can I walk? It's Beth anth [ __ ] >> Okay, here's the thing. You're going to the hospital as a marshmack. >> If you resist, you're going to go, >> but I didn't commit a commit to the hospital. You can't care for yourself. >> No. It's like out of your gut cuz I can't care for myself. I drank too much. >> Look at your kids didn't even want to be around you. >> Are you kidding me? My daughter is so Your kids are winning. If you're not, give me a charge. Give me a charge. God, give me one. Give me a charge. What are you giving me? >> Resisting. >> I did nothing wrong. Let me go. You guys, I love you. I was so kind. >> Should literally be here. >> Stop. >> No, because I did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong. done anything wrong? Anything? >> Your current crime is you drank too much. You're And you're the leader of these two. >> You're winner, aren't you? >> I am the leader of these people. You >> The moment they tried to put her in the car, Bethanne suddenly became a legal expert. [music] She started shouting for her lawyers and insisting she committed no crimes despite being a public nuisance. Watching her fight the officers while screaming about her rights was pure comedy. Those earrings alone warranted 3 days in jail for being a fashion disaster. >> It's not too late and I don't deserve this at all. Please let me know. Please. >> You're just going to the hospital. You're not you're not getting you're not going to jail or anything like that. >> I keep you for no >> They might not keep you for a whole dish. >> Can you let me go? Please. >> That's a baker act. The marshm act is when the doctor and the silver up. I didn't do anything wrong because my daughter is a skinny pants scaredy pants and Jackson's not cuz my daughter is. There's nothing wrong with that. >> No, I don't just >> get off me. >> Oh my god. You guys get away with some Can I move? >> You don't mean to call me. >> No. Just please say so. Stop pulling away. >> I'm not going to say so. You're going into a car. I have no charges. So, you're not arresting me for a charge. I did nothing wrong. Right. So, pretty much I have no new charges. I didn't do anything wrong. Get off my neck and get off my shoulder. Right. Get off me. Get off me. >> Get in the car. >> What the hell? >> Are you going to cooperate? >> Yeah. I know. >> I'm a sweet girl. Look. Look. I got no want. >> Here you go. Let's >> I have no charges. I got no want. >> Step out. >> Come on. Step out. >> All right. >> Let me help. >> Well, why don't you put my back a little bit? >> I got you. Come on. Step out. >> He's lying. >> Okay. Just talk to me. Talk to me. >> Okay. Talk to me. Come on. Step out. Why you talking? Step. >> You're not going to blame someone someone who has a record. >> Okay. Come on. >> Look, I have no charges. I didn't even hurt you. And you hurt your mom's my son and daughter. >> You're talking to me right now. They're like, "Well, mom, so we had a rough night at >> Got Christmas. Come on. >> Festival. >> Yep. >> Fix. Can you fix that?" >> Yep. Come on. Step out. There you go. >> I know. I know. I'm not trying to be funny. All right. I will. >> But I was all good until we got here. And you lied. >> Step out and talk to me. You don't have to You don't have to talk to me. >> I was all good until I was It was between my son, my daughter, and myself. >> Okay. Step out while right there. >> No. We had a family issue and it was all good until you pulled in and lied. >> This entire scene was a tragic reminder of why some people shouldn't be in charge of a goldfish, let alone children. Beth Anne's behavior was predatory toward her own family's peace. Prison might actually be her only chance for full rehabilitation at this point because she clearly doesn't see a problem with her actions. Those kids deserve a childhood that doesn't involve watching their mother get tackled by police at a Christmas parade. Beth Annefrey was ultimately charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, disorderly intoxication, and resisting an officer without violence. Her kids were safely left with their grandparents, who luckily held legal custody, and could provide the stable home she clearly couldn't. It's a tragic reminder that addiction doesn't take a holiday, even at a Christmas parade.
