On June 26th, 2024, officers noticed a vehicle being operated dangerously while on routine patrol. The driver was speeding and failing to stay in the designated lane. The car kept drifting from side to side, threatening other motorists. The erratic movement raised immediate concern for impaired or distracted driving. Officers quickly acted to prevent any potential accident. What might have caused the driver to lose such control? So, did you signal 12? Yes. We came out all over the road. So I got behind her um on the other side of Santa Barbara. So I was following her and she was weaving back and forth in her lane, but then right before she crossed over Pelican, she like veered like this, almost hit a white car. So she left the lane once. Then as we passed Pelican, she went into the center lane and she was like in between two lanes as we got through the intersection. So she did it twice and I lit her up and then um she just kept driving. She was putting on her signal lane and like moving over and everything, but then she got in the right lane and she turned off her signal light and she just kept going. That's when I was like, "Hey, we're still rolling here." But it was only like 30 mph and then she said she was coming from some bar restaurant. She didn't have a couple drinks. I just did the flag just while she was sitting next to Hello. Hi, my name is Officer Green. Can you tell me what happened? I was driving home and now there are bright lights and you what? And now there are bright lights in my eyes. I got you. That's it. So they they stopped you cuz um you weren't maintaining your lane. Are you okay? You're not having any medical medical issue or anything? No, but I'm just tired. Anything wrong with your vehicle? No. All right. I was changing music and I got you. Where are you coming from? Uh, Fort Myers. Fort Myers. We're at Busters. Busters. What's that? It's a restaurant. Restaurant. You had anything to drink? Two beers and a slice of pizza or two slice pizza. Okay. And when was that? Um, half an hour. Like an hour. Okay. All right. Can you do me a favor? Get out. Yeah, I know. It's real bright. It's so bright. Come over here. 3131 315. All right, ma'am. What's up? Uh there's definitely a worry between all of us here that you may be prepared and cannot operate a motor vehicle safely. So I'm going to ask you to participate in a D1 investigation so you can dispel fears to participate and kill those. Yep. Let's see how it looks. It had almost become a trend to drive recklessly, and this woman was no exception. She neither controlled her speed nor stayed in her lane, drifting all over the road. Eventually, the officers intervened and initiated an investigation. Surprisingly, the woman offered full cooperation to the officer without showing any sign of resistance. We'll try. Okay. Um, I'm just going to ask you some simple questions first. Okay. Are you sick or injured? No. Okay. Do you have any physical limitations? [Music] Are you diabetic or epileptic? No. Are you taking any medication or drugs? Have you suffered any head trauma? Do you wear glasses? Consequences. Are they on right now? Soft? Yes. Yeah. And are you blind in the other eye? No. Okay. Okay. What color is this light? Red. All right. I want you to follow that red light with your eyes and only with your eyes. While doing so, I don't want you to move your head. Okay? You understand? Yes. Try not to move your head. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat up here. Noticing that the woman appeared highly intoxicated, the officers began conducting tests. This was a crucial step taken by the officers to determine whether she was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and to what extent. However, assessing whether she could follow the officer's finger and successfully pass the test was difficult. Only time would reveal if her condition would betray her in front of the law. [Music] All right, ma'am. Do you want to walk this line in those flip flops or do you want to do it barefoot? I love to do it in my flip flops. Flip flops. All right. So, this is what we're going to do. I'm going to place you in a starting position and then I don't want you to move from the starting position until I tell you to begin. I'm going to give you the instructions also. Okay? So, place your left foot on the line and then your right foot in front, heel touching toe. Arms down by your sides here. You need to touch touch your sides. All right. Remain in that position until I finish giving you the instructions. From this position, you're going to take a series of nine Kyota toe steps forward on the line. You're going to turn around and then take nine more Kyoto toe steps forward on the line. Okay. Okay. It's going to look like this. One, two, three, all the way to nine. Once you get to nine, you're going to leave your lead foot planted on the ground. Take a series of small steps to turn around. Nine more heel to toe steps forward on the line. One, two, three, all the way to nine. Okay. At all times, I want you to look down at your feet. Count out loud and keep your arms down by your sides. Once you start, do not stop. You understand? Definitely not nervous. No. All right, let's get you back on the line. All right, you may begin. Is it out loud? Yes, ma'am. Okay. I wonder 1 2 3 4 Oh my gosh, I'm [Music] just 5 6 7 8 nine is the end. No. So as instructed nine justice set up for the nine steps got like two series of several steps forward. Okay. 1 2 3 4 [Music] 5 9 10 Okay, the officers were quite something. First, they explained the test instructions to her like she was a child. Ignoring the fact that alcohol had clouded her mind, they began counting her unsteady steps to see whether she could complete the walk and turn test. Could someone with such impaired balance truly be trusted behind the wheel? All right. [Music] Okay. Uh we're going to balance on one leg. Do you want to do it in your u flip flops? Okay. It's It's completely up to you. All right. So, put your feet together, arms down by your sides. All right. Don't begin until I tell you to. From this position, you're going to pick whichever leg you prefer. And then you're going to raise that leg approximately 6 in 6 in off the floor. Keeping your foot parallel to the ground, keeping your legs straight, your arms down by your sides, you're going to look down at your foot and count out loud in this manner. 1,001 1,002 1,003 1,004 100,005 until I tell you to stop. You happen to put your foot down, pick it right back up, continue counting from where you left off. Okay? You understand? You have any questions? No. Which uh foot are you going to raise? How many 1,00 to count to? 800 or something. Okay. So, which which leg are you going to raise, man? Like my left. Your left. Okay. As soon as you raise your left uh leg, I'll begin the turn. 1 2000 23 100 400 500 6 Keep going. 2009 2011 201 13 17 1890 2000 Okay, you can stop 2021 Next up. All right, ma'am. So, you're going to be placed on the arrest for DUI. Okay. I'm going to place you in handcuffs. Take your your finger. Thank you. Give me one second. Is that the only thing you need? 105 should know one. Yeah. Just keys to help my husband. Like I have no idea. Okay. The keys to the van have to go or Yeah, the van have to go with the van. Um, do you have other keys on there? House keys and stuff. Uh, no. I mean, it's all it's all the same. The woman couldn't walk properly or see clearly. How could she possibly stand on one leg and keep her balance? It was almost laughable. Yet, the officers remained confident. After making her perform the test, they confirmed one thing beyond doubt. The woman was highly intoxicated. Now, the only thing left was to see how far denial could carry her against solid proof. I'll take all her keys except the the car key and her phone. Okay. Hi, ma'am. Um, so like I said, you've been placed under arrest for DUI. Um, I'm now asking you to provide a sample of your breath to determine it alcohol content. Do you wish to provide a sample report? Yes. Okay. All right. All right. We're going to go back to my vehicle over there. Face the red light. All right. Spread your feet. You have anything in your pockets? I'm going have to search your pockets really quick. You have anything in your bra? Oh, I have a bra. Okay. All right. I have a seat. Watch your head. What is the like when we test my test my back? I have to take you to the station and test your What about my car? It'll be too keys, right? Yeah. Okay. My phone. Yeah, I got your I'll bring your phone with you. Do you have a property today? So, I have to your your car will be towed cuz you're placed under arrest for DUI. And now I have to take you back to the Kore Police Department to get your breath in for your uh Um, I'm going to put them in a property bag for you, okay? For safekeeping. They're not. They can't be with you right now. Okay. The woman failed all the tests miserably. After such results, letting her go would have been sheer negligence. The officers took her into custody while she appeared completely unaware of the seriousness of the situation. What was she even thinking? Driving in an intoxicated state? Had there been an accident? The consequences could have been severe, but it'll all be in your property. Okay. So, I have to remove all the jewelry from your hands and all that stuff. So, the watch is eventually going to have to come off, too. Let me see. Turn to the left. 30 minutes. Is this a band? No, it slips right off. Oh, it slips off. I'll get one. Come with it. You're good. I'm going to have to take your cuff off. Can you give me some light really quick? Yeah. Yeah. rings. I'm going to get these other Jessica, is there any firearms or anything of value in your car that we need to know about? Yes, my camera. your camera. Yes. Yeah. She said she's a photographer. Oh, like we have some expensive photography equipment. Yes. Oh, yeah. One second. After verifying all investigations, evidence, and arguments, the officers finally transferred the woman to jail. It was important for her to realize behind bars that next time she must think a 100 times before driving in an intoxicated state. Despite the situation, the officers remained calm, composed, and thoroughly professional throughout the process. The woman was charged with driving under the influence. She was also issued a $1,763 fine and 10day vehicle impoundment. So, in the end, if you enjoyed the video, hit that like button and drop your thoughts in the comments.
