What did you drink? Water. Water? Cuz you just said a second ago, there's tons of open containers in the back of your car. Yeah. Get out of the car. I got it. You're liars. You're liar. You are all liars. Oh, on August 23rd, 2023, a potato head drunk driver decided that traffic laws, sobriety, and basic common sense simply didn't apply to her when deputies pulled her over. It didn't take long to realize this was no routine stop. What started as a simple traffic stop slowly spiraled into something far more chaotic. Hello. How you doing? I'm sorry. I have to do so bad. Okay. So, I'm deputy gank with the Shelley County Sheriff's Office. Reason I'm stopping you is you blew the red light. You could kill yourself or somebody else doing that. Seriously? Yes. Cuz although this is red, right, and doesn't look like there's a lot of things going on or that car was stopped there. Meanwhile, you have someone who's elderly or doesn't react as well as you and they see a green light and they're going 45 through here and you get t-boned. Mhm. Right. You have your license with you? I am sorry. Where are you coming from? I from where? How much were you drinking today? One drink. One drink. Carter, it doesn't look like it. You got a whole bunch of open containers back there. What's in your hand? You got cocaine in the car or what is that from? No, I do not. You are more than welcome to. All right, that's fine. I'll have you get out for a minute if you don't mind. That's okay. Is this your car? It is. Where do you work? Applebees, right? There's nothing illegal on you. Got any pockets or anything like that? I have no pockets. Okay. How much did you actually have to drink? I worked here longer in the day, right? Is dangerous for yourself. I suppose. What did you drink? Water. Water. Isn't that what you just said a second ago? There's tons of open containers in the back of your car. Yeah. So, when did you leave Applebees? Hours ago. Okay. All righty. So, you're just going to go to the bathroom now? Okay. There's nothing illegal in this vehicle, you're saying? No. It's okay if I took a look through it then? You can. Okay. You can. All right. Those aren't going to be like cold when I touch them or anything, are they? What? They're not going to be cold when I touch them. No. No. I didn't touch them. All right. Well, what were you actually drinking over there? What? What were you actually drinking over there? over. You said you were drinking at work. And she wasn't ready for what came next. This drunk ass lady really thought she could outsmart the cop with a combo of confusion and cold drinks. First it was one drink. Then suddenly it's just water. Meanwhile, her back seat looked like a recycling bin for open containers. Ma'am, if you're going to lie, at least keep track of your own story. You said you work at Apple. No, I did not say I was drinking at work. I said heaven. You got a drink at home and you're coming from work. You had more than a drink. I got off of work and I was drinking. Okay. So, you're coming from home right now. Coming from work. I got off of work. So, where are you coming from? I'm coming from work. Okay. from somewhere in between of work and home. So, you got off work and then you're coming from somewhere that you I got off of work. Why are you shouting at me? You're right. I'm sorry. I didn't see you were screaming at you. You know what I mean? What's up, boy? You copy one. She's taking me to jail. Well, why would I take you to jail? Cuz I already know. Why would I take you to jail? Because I already know. Know about what? Because what's just the case? Well, look at me. Why would I take you to jail? You already know why. I don't I don't know why. I don't know. Because you see that you can you can feel them. None of them are cold. None of them are cold. None of them. You are pretty reacting kind of slowly though that you had more than wine. What were you drinking? Well, I'm a little concerned about your ability to have been driving and to drive today from what I've seen so far. Yeah. Okay. And from some of the statements you're saying as well. So with that being said, in order to alleviate my suspicion of your impairment, would you participate in a series of field sobriety exercises? Good to do FS. You got a good line right there. Yeah. What you Let me see your hand. You were painting today. No. What is that? Going to work today. I don't know. H. All right. It's on your finger. Here. One second. No, you cannot. Hang on one second. One second. One second. Why can't we shut the car off? Because you do not own the car either. I was just trying to save you some gas, that's all. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. I won't. And I will. No. She's fine. My uncle. No, you're going to shut the lawyer. Okay. I'm calling my uncle lawyer. Just stand out here and wait. All right. He's probably going to tell you just to listen to us. Yes. This woman's story was all over the place. She couldn't decide if she was coming from work, home, Mars, or some imaginary in between. Every answer just made things worse. Like she was in a full-on lying contest with herself. The cops knew giving her a sobriety test was a must to shut down her lies. No. Yes. No. Don't get in the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Do not hand me the keys. No. Don't do that. Um, excuse me, sir. Don't do that. I said get out of the car. Excuse me, sir. Do you want to try to do that without me? This is what This is what we're going to do. Get out of the car right now. Step out. You ready? 1 2 3. Step out before I rip you out. Come on. Step out right now before I rip you out. Last chance. I'm going to rip you out in 3 seconds. Get out of the car. Get out right now. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Yeah, she's pulling away. I got her. Traffic. Traffic. Get out of the car. I got her. You're done. You're done. You're done. You are done. Just leave it right there for now. No, you're done. You can stay right there. You're done. Maybe All of you. Oh, it's cocaine. Was cocaine on your hand. Now you're barely done. Look. Yeah. Get my uncle. Get my uncle. Nah. This is This is Now you're really done. Now you're really done. Now you're really done. Okay. Come on. No. No. Now you're really done. One, two, three. We're standing up. All right. Get my uncle now. Get my uncle now. Shut your car. N. Come on. Hey, I already had to rip you out of the car. Come on. Put in the car. You're a liar. You're a liar. against. You're a liar. You are all liars. Oh, you are. There's cocaine on her hands. She's drunk and ran the red light. We were sitting there for like here. Liars. Liars. I went to go liars. No. I just want I just want to make sure we're all capturing this on our video of house. Liars. She said, "Take me to jail already when I was just standing there with her." Liars. Hey, why are you shouting? Cuz you are liars. The real twist hit when she climbed back in the car and straight up refused to get out like it was a lifeboat. But the cops weren't here to play games. They dragged her out like yesterday's trash. And through it all, she kept screaming, "I'm calling my uncle." Like that would magically erase the handcuffs. Spoiler, it didn't. Okay. And I wish. Oh, you are liars. You are liars. You are liars. You're liars. Kang, you are liars. You're liars. Liars. Oh, you smell her, too, right? I smelled Yeah, I smelled her coming up here. I was able to smell her. I wouldn't even get 10 ft near her. She's pretty cold to the touch. Simply spiked kiwi peach. 5% alcohol for 12 fluid ounces. One, two, three. And angry orchard. Is that baton? Yeah. 5% alcohol. Hey, do you have anything in on or around your person? If we get to the jail and you have it on, you'll be a third degree felony. Okay. What did you put in my car? I didn't put anything in your car. Okay. So, what did you just bring to this car? Out of my car. Your purse. So, you can have it. Okay. I want to talk to Bill. The sheriff. The sheriff probably sleeping right now. I don't care. How are Why are you stuck? Because of the way the seat is. Yeah, there's I mean I'm literally just like leaning on them. Well, I mean it's not supposed to be comfortable. Yeah, they'll second I get there. Even in the back of the squad car, she didn't chill out one bit. She had no clue she was digging herself deeper. The cops stayed cool and kept trying to calm her down, but nothing got through to her. Why would someone busted with booze and locked up tight keep losing it like that instead of shutting up and figuring out how to fix the mess? She was charged with DUI and resisting arrest without violence. She was sentenced to one year of probation, 50 hours of community service, a one-year license suspension, one year with an ignition interlock device, 10 days of vehicle empoundment, and DUI school.
