law enforcement officers in Lakewood Ohio responded to a report of theft at a local drugstore the store's management reported that two employees had engaged in fraudulent activity at the checkout resulting in the theft of merchandise valued at over $2,000 oh there's the pleas I said I'm waiting for the Poli hi my name is John um so I'll give you the river's I version then answer any questions that okay we have two employees what they've been doing what just spill on here they will go through and I outline each of the in each of the incidents is outlined by other people customers who would friends of that would come in so got and it was $100 of merchandise not rung up I said you stole 100 and I stole 100 we participated in together right and I ring up I would say I stole 200 and you stole 100 and he stole 100 so that's how I came up with the total okay all these videos are on this jump dve there about a gigabyte of videos that for YouTu to keep oh they're both got a little concerned that I lost 95% of the time you'll see the word unknown right this is the list of all the items corresponding with the date be the date the time the incident number the date that it happened the time that it happened who the cashier was and who the customer was you know this unknown I don't know who I don't know who that customer is what the items were what the dollar retail value now sometimes you'll see you know times three there's a lot of information here I apologize for that no it's a lot more than lot I'll reprint this cuz I don't know what ketchup I got in there or something okay okay so where are they both right now she's in this room with these two these upstairs I put two chairs together we we don't have a lot of office space so okay I right now sh get I talk to each all right all right so he expain me what's going on I trying to get some information for you I'm just pretty much identify who you are you do you have an ID on you right now my chance I do well we have no idea yet appreciate it they're here right now I'm about to talk to my kid's dad wants to know if if I I speak to you guys can am I able to call and let know what's going on yeah you get a call okay so um I've been employed here for about like 4 months um apparently um this is what happened so there're the way on the system where you can bring things like moderation style so um I guess you have a statement that's right now what's happening so me me doing [ __ ] not knowing that there could be consequences but getting comfortable trying to make sure my kids had something to eat um so basically make a long story short um it all started with someone ringing out my stuff wasn't supposed to with the with the right price like I guess they kind of moderated and stuff like that so make a long story short just basically kind of took advantage of that and um just been doing it so me and another coworker was kind of sort of like you know helping each other out for the for the most part the manager was kind of explaining things all right and uh basically when when a crime of reaches a certain threshold over $1,000 I didn't even know that it becomes something different he comes CL from misdemeanor to possibly a felony okay but it's also a matter of what the store being a victim do matter okay I wouldn't do it as frequently as some other people that might do it but that did happen um guy that was involved someone I was talking to um his name is cordel or at least that's where he goes by I'm going to go off his cuz we not his Instagram but his name was like I remember him calling him K so I'm going to say Kevin or something like that or Calvin or some [ __ ] okay but he go by though um he used to come me was day and I did do that like two or three times with himo so that's just the truth I'm not sure what they lost prevention but I didn't know you know what think his name was Dave he basically was like he told me he was like he just you know he was talking to me I didn't put up a fight I didn't argue I just told him everything that I knew everything on my end because it's I mean this is about me it's not about other people when he was bringing up other people I'm like I know who else was involved I told you but he was like thinking like other people are like no you know it was more of a on my end I can't speak for him I can't speak for Daryl I can't do that I can only speak for me on my end when I was given the opportunity of oh you know you're helping me out and everything you know I don't have anything you I'm just low you know I was like okay he was explaining to me that uh you might have some warrants out in Cleveland still out in Cleveland he said that you should told him that or maybe oh no I don't have any warrants in Cleveland I'm on probation for Cleveland okay so my warrants are cleared okay and then I got to the point where they got comfortable and I knew I was wrong you know and I was like yeah this can't keep you know when you give you estimate I don't I didn't know that they had went you know to a th000 or over th000 or whatever it was you know I'm not thinking of that you know I'm just trying to get my my kids what they need all right we'll figure out everything that's going on and hopefully we can move on and get get this figured out but we appreciate you being quiet it makes things easier for both of us so yeah sure and as I know that there are consequences for that I'm not saying that oh just because I have a story you know everybody have a story everybody got something going on but it's just like I didn't want him thinking it was somebody else involved you know cuz I never put anybody else in that position you know it was only me and darl it was only me and Daryl that had you know those Communications nobody else know not you know so what would be the next step well we probably I me there's no easy way but uh we'll probably end up taking you down in cuffs like and stuff um at least put you in the back of the car for now until we can figure out exactly what's going on what like a charge might be if there's charges if you have to talk to detectives and stuff we got other guys downstairs so once we talk to everybody involved we able to figure out more exactly what's going on how long how long has it been going on I I would say like maybe just a month I wouldn't even say I not e but I mean given the fact that getting comfortable and not thinking of time not thinking of what's going on not thinking of what was behind you or in front of you okay but all so I'll let you trying to we're trying to figure out and let you know as we go I'm going to talk to the other officer upstairs is talking to that gentleman and we'll go from there know that makes sense um yeah just merchandise if he ran out you added $100 for him And1 for her correct so it can be ,000 cannot be, but there's probably there there's $414 between the two of them hers is only $1,888 of I hope I'm explaining it was it was complicated W it all up they were both involved in 18 $ and he was involved with additional but not all of the yes trying to make it clear because so okay so the total would be just 1,800 between her and is where I'm getting lost at give or take $38 yes it's ,800 well so the combined number is 1,800 of merchandise missing between the two of them is merchandise missing yes okay and because he rang up other customers so that's why his go up to 21 you have you have a good but we just trying to figure out because you said if he rang her out or she rang him out you still add 100 to each of them instead of if he was the one purchas purchas purchasing the items it would just be $100 that he stole just because he was ringing him out it would be $100 for her if you and me go in the store and I hold a bag and you put the merchandise in the bag we're both responsible we wouldn't take the merise in the bag and divide it didn't happen say you sto have I we both stole everything that was in the bag we broke in this overnight he stole $1,000 worth of cigarettes we both stole $1,000 wor of cigarettes just because he's the one sh mean she wasn't involved in it she was pretending scanning it bags and he pick up the bags and walk out and it was $100 mer nice up the person who get the thing up put it in bags and the person who pick up the bags and walked out the door both be responsible they were both would be charged with $100 even though it's only $ missing products sto it right okay okay I'm sorry it's so confused I it's um all right so you had your phone and you have anything else on you said I can grab it or you want to just turn your face away from me real quick want to kick your feet out spread them out a little bit you can kick that one out way
