life forever. Amen. Jesus name I pray forever. AMEN. You're saved IN JESUS NAME FOREVER. IN JESUS name forever. >> Put it down, dude. PUT IT DOWN. >> PUT IT DOWN. >> OKAY. Is there anywhere else? No. On January 24th, 2025, what started as a call about a shirtless guy acting weird near a middle school turned into a life ordeath struggle in a matter of seconds. Officer Osorio thought she was dealing with a standard [music] suspicious person. But the suspect had much darker plans. Between the strange prayers and the sudden gunfire, the situation went out of control, leaving [music] everyone on edge. The situation exploded into chaos, leaving the community shaken, [music] and a police vehicle turned into a crime scene. >> Not in trouble or anything, man. I just need to talk to you. >> Can you take me to Jonathan's? >> Okay, we'll figure that out. Just take a seat for me. >> What's going You got no shirt on. Take a seat. >> I know. I know. I know. >> Huh? >> Take a seat. >> I don't have to. >> Yeah, you do. >> No, I don't. Yeah, you do. In Jesus name I pray forever. Amen. In Jesus name I pray forever. Amen. We're going towards Elone. All right. Just 148 at this time. Uh he's in the parking lot across from the PD IN JESUS NAME. THEY'RE SAYING forever forever. >> Oh my god. FOREVER. >> Please don't me. Please. >> She's going to >> put it down, DUDE. PUT IT DOWN. >> PUT IT DOWN. >> HEY, PUT IT DOWN. THINGS went from zero to 100 when he suddenly lunged for the officer's weapon, proving he wasn't interested in cooperation as much as he was in chaos. The officer ended up in a desperate scuffle, begging for him to put it down. It's terrifying because she's lucky she wasn't killed right then and there during that messy struggle. 998 998. >> Start 80. Start 80. >> Hey, put the gun down. >> Are you okay? >> Police placement desk. Hi, my name is assistant superintendent for the Fountain Valley School District. >> I'm checking because we had several employees hear gunshot fires office. >> I see. Yeah, currently right now officers are actually on the scene current um at an emergency. I can't disclose further, but currently officers are already on scene. >> Okay. I so much appreciate that. Thank you. >> No problem. You be safe. >> You all right? Are you okay, sir? >> No, no. I was trying to get to you as quick as I could. I'm sorry I had to run around the fence. [gasps] >> Are you sorry? Are you okay? >> Samo Corazone. You good, homie? [snorts] >> Hi. Um, I don't know if this is a serious emergency. It's not serious, but um there's a man out here. He just made a right on Slater heading toward Slater and Lostard Dinas, but he made the right on Slater and you know he seems a little strange and disturbed. He has jeans on, no shirt. >> So, is this a person or a vehicle? >> It's a person. Jeans, no shirt, bald like shaved head. >> Mhm. >> And a woman was coming out of Massuda parking lot in her car and he, you know, he looked mentally disturbed or something. Okay. >> Hang on. So, is this Los Hardin's east or west? >> It's on the Slater side. I'm gonna say it west. >> Okay. >> While dispatch was fielding calls from terrified school employees, the scene on the ground was a mess. Imagine putting a fellow officer into such a dangerous situation through your incompetence. The caller described him as mentally disturbed. And honestly, the female officer didn't look much more stable. The suspect had even tried to carjack a poor woman before the cops arrived. And again, the subject, he appeared to be like, um, is he, again, this is a male, white, Hispanic, or Asian. >> Uh, he's white or Hispanic. >> Okay. >> But this poor woman was just driving out of the school parking lot >> and he was walking in front of her and then, you know, he started staring at her and saying things and then as she was about to pull out after he passed her, he went back and grabbed the door of her car and tried to open it. >> Okay. Okay. Gotcha. Um, and how when was this? Like 5 minutes ago? >> Five minutes ago. I called you pretty much right away. So, he's walking towards, you know, like probably somewhere in the 7-Eleven. >> Okay. Um, he's currently at 7-Eleven. Is that right? >> He's He's probably in the area of the 7-Eleven parking lot. He could be I'm trying to see. >> Okay. Here, stand by. Let me get Let me connect you to the dispatch. All right. Let me Let me see if we can do something. Stand by. >> Okay. What happened? He tried to take the car. He had her He still got the gun with him. Safety Sam, we have a 998. Go over here. Take her away. >> Unbeknownst to the officer, the suspect is still alive and breathing in the car. >> You still got the gun. >> Wait there. Okay. >> You good? >> Okay. Suspect tried to take the car. He's in the driver's seat of unit 429. Standby. Okay. Hold on. 3:30 a.m. I'm out with them. >> Have you heard anywhere else? >> No. Push your elbow. >> Hey, are you involved? >> Yeah. >> Go, go, go to the car. >> Globing up. >> Sure. >> Yeah. >> You got me. >> I got you. >> Okay, I'm covered. >> Okay, let's make a slow approach here. >> I got hands. >> I got hands. You guys got lethal. >> Where's >> hands are clear? >> No. hands are >> hands are clear. >> Hands are clear. >> Okay, let's Okay, don't move, bud. Do not move. We're going to help you out. Okay. >> Unbelievably, the suspect managed to crawl into the driver's seat of the police unit while still clutching a gun. Not everyone is cop material, and watching those cops approached the car was painful. They had to treat him like a lethal threat because he still had the weapon tucked underneath his body while they tried to figure out if he was even breathing. >> Where's I don't have visual on. No visual. >> Okay. All right. >> Where's her gun at? >> Okay. I'm going to reach in, but I don't want you to laser me. Okay. >> So, [music] >> his hands are clear. I see the gun. >> Okay. >> The gun's underneath him. Okay. Let's pull him out. Okay. Roll him over. Okay. No, we don't need a handcuff at this point. Roll him over. Let's start CPA. So, CPR. Somebody get a medic for pulse. Check for pulse. command. >> I am going to check pockets. I'm going to check pockets. >> We have him out of the car. We have the gun secured. Have 80 roll in. >> I have the gun. Okay. >> He has pulse. >> All right. He has pulse. Hey, he has pulse. No CPR. Just monitor breathing. All right. >> Monitor breathing. All right. >> Medics out, guys. >> Yes. I got him. >> Yeah. Hey, >> just keep him. Keep make sure he stays breathing. All right. Stay breathing, dude. All right. Check for pulse. If you lose those pulse, you start compression. Go to the unit, back of the unit, get the orange blocks. All right. >> Is she hurt? >> No. Yeah, she's got a couple scrapes. >> Is she shot? You check her. >> No. No, she's not shot. >> Okay. >> Okay. [cough] >> Okay. >> Take a deep breath. Hey, look at me. >> You okay? Are you Are you injured at all? >> I just fell. >> Okay. Did you get >> No, he pointed at me. >> He pointed your at you. >> Who shot? He was my Ben. Are you >> okay? All right. Just do me a favor. Go stand over there. Okay. Hey, look at me. Look at me. Look at me. Come here. You're okay. You did good. Okay. We're all okay. That's what matters. >> Okay. Deep breath. >> Yeah, it's a firm shot. >> Okay. Real quick. Uh how many how many shots do you think? >> I want to say like six. Six or seven. >> Six or seven. All this direction. >> Yeah. One diagonally. >> Okay. >> Uh and then I uh pied it and uh he I saw him moving >> and I saw it back. >> Okay. >> While the other officers were checking for his pulse and securing the gun, the female officer was still crying. She was shaking and trying to process that she just fired six or seven shots into her own patrol vehicle. She should not be a police officer. She could go work for the county clerk's office so no one gets hurt. It's pretty clear she's incompetent to protect the public and herself. >> He had the gun in his hand her gun in her right hand. >> Okay. Are you okay? >> Okay. Are you injured at all? Okay. Just hang tight. Take some deep breaths. Okay. And just charge. Okay. Are you okay, ma'am? >> Yeah. >> I know you're probably pretty shaken up. >> Yeah. I ran in the back so he wouldn't see me and shoot at me, so I ran in the back, but I heard gunshots. I don't know if they hit my car or not. I don't know. >> Okay. All right. >> My bosses are coming right now. Okay. >> So, you need to let them through. >> No, I'm not going to let them through. It's a crime scene, but we're going to accommodate you. Okay. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Heather, will you just make that wide? Medics are in here. Let the medics come in. Just go ahead and stand right over there. Okay. Ma'am. >> Hi. Hi, how are you? >> Yeah. Did you happen to hear or see what happened? >> I heard five gunshots is what I believe is what I heard about five gunshots. >> I don't know if it was an officer or somebody yelling to somebody to like stop. >> Okay. >> Right. And it was constantly stop like they were yelling like to somebody to stop. >> Do you remember if it was like a female voice? >> It sounded like a female voice. Believe it or not, it did. It sounded to me it sounded a little >> And where were you at in your room? >> I was actually right here in the kitchen. >> Okay. Right in here. I could hear it. Um, and that's when I kind of peaked out. I could hear it. I don't know if it was a crash that I heard. It might have been the car hitting that and that's when I came out and at that point I saw that it was a gun of officer holding a gun into the car just holding it and telling them to get out. >> Okay. >> But >> so you heard about five shots. You said you said female voice. >> Somebody hearing somebody say something like stop. >> How many times would you say? >> God about like two or three is what I want to say. And then um and then I heard like a bang. I maybe it was the crash. That's when I came out and saw the gun. The guy an officer was holding a gun to the car and just telling him to get out. >> Okay. >> And I did hear him say that several times. And that was that's other officers joined in. And then I think >> And then when you say car, what car do you >> So So the officer was holding the gun to to the actual police vehicle. Okay. Which is right on the other side of this um ambulance here. >> Okay. >> Yeah. This entire incident was a disaster from the start to the end. If you can't handle a guy without losing your cool and your patrol car, you probably shouldn't have a badge. The suspect's sister later tried to blame brain bleeds for his actions, but that doesn't change the fact that this officer was way out of her league. The suspect was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene after being shot multiple times during the struggle for the patrol car. Investigators reviewed the body cam footage and officially ruled the shooting as justified, though the department faced heavy criticism for the tactical errors made during the initial contact.
