There's a guy that's 24 years old and he's gross. >> She confused the brake for the gas pedal and slammed into the >> and she got a cigarette and she throw it and she went [music] to my dad. >> These children revealed something adults can sometimes overlook the truth. >> I I explained to this young boy, I said, "Do you understand that I almost hit you with my car?" Why are you at Why you I can't >> Through their words, stories, and simple actions, they help the authorities navigate four complicated situations, all connected by one clear fact. Adults sometimes allowed risk to come too close. In today's world where social media connects people but also brings risks, minors remain the most vulnerable. uh reference to some stuff. >> July 18th, 2024, police began an investigation after a report of an adult using misleading information to interact with young girls inappropriately. Several girls spoke up online and the youth support group, Inner City Innovators, discreetly got involved, helping bring the matter to the authorities. >> Happened. [clears throat] >> Thank you so much for coming. >> Sure. >> Oh, you gorgeous. >> Thank you. >> How you doing? Hello. >> What's going on here? >> So, um, >> who is Shakoya? >> I'm a youth mentoring company, right? And we deal with a lot of kids. Um, they talked to us about things that they don't talk to. I was talking about, it was brought to my attention yesterday when I was having a one-on-one with one of my mentees that there's a guy that's 24 years old that is having sex with girls at age 13. He's lying to them about his age. um she was a victim and she said she's she does not mind talking to the police and letting them know, you know, anything that you guys need to know. Uh I've been contacting the victims as I've been getting their names personally. A lot of them their parents does not know. So they're telling me that I don't want my parents to know. So I know [clears throat] that's going to be the difficult part for you guys since then. Um I have their contact information. I have all of his information except the phone number. Um I can try to get a phone number. >> We have them already in the system. >> Yeah, cuz I believe he have a open case right now something similar to this. Correct. Right. Um but it is my mentee wants to stop this. She wants to make awareness of what's going on because she says that it's happening to too many girls. It's posted online on Instagram. So I have all the the screenshots of the post where one of the girls is saying, "If you see this guy, stay away from him." He's responding to the girls like, "Okay, chill. I'mma stop. Y'all doing too much." All right, I promise I'mma stop. But I have all the screenshots for you. I don't mind sending them to you guys. But because we're mandated to report, we have to report. We tried to report to the department of families and they told us we had to call. I don't go. >> So where's this come where is you guys based out of? >> Here. Here. >> You based out of here? Um I I've never I don't even know what this building is. >> So this is Fair enough. This is 1909, which is like a shared workspace and then we rent this office in here and we're inner city innovators. So, we're a mentoring nonprofit. So, we have a mentees and one of our mentees was involved with was lied to and that's how >> this guy is also a mentor. >> He's not. >> So, how does he how does he get in contact with these? >> So, he's in the area he's also in the area of West Palm and Riviera Beach. Um, one of the girls have a Delray number. I don't know if she's from Delray, but it's it seems like he's like a I want to say like he's a serial um child molester. That's, you know, that's what I'm getting because the the as the girls are reporting, more girls are reporting to the post that are is posted online. You understand? So, a lot of these girls are in Rivier Beach. Some of them are in West Palm Beach. Um I'm not sure her she's giving is I've been given a del number for her. >> So, you guys are [snorts] mentors. And how did these kids get in contact with you guys? >> They call us. They talk to us. We meet them oneon-one. I I I was actually having a one-on-one with my girls and this came up. >> And where do you have your one-on- ones? >> Well, I took them out to eat. I went to Dair Queen. >> Okay. >> So, in anywhere that they want to they feel comfortable or if they want to go sit down and eat and talk, that's how we do it. We just sit and talk. And >> And this business is called >> Inner City Innovators. >> Yes. And I have a card I can give you. You can check out our website and stuff. We're a 501c23 nonprofit. Inner City Innovators is a nonprofit organization founded to [music] support vulnerable teens. Recently, they received multiple messages from different girls, all sharing similar experiences [music] of concerning interactions with an adult. >> All right. So, these girls contact this business, right? That's how I'm getting they get in contact with this business to get a mentor. >> So, yeah. When when we we get referrals from a bunch of different places, including like United Way and stuff like that. And so, then we do have an intake meeting. We meet with them. We decided we're they're fit for the program. If they're fit for this program, we assign them. >> What is what is the requirement to be fit for this program? >> So, it's either high risk or at risk and it's a bunch of various factors, but a lot of our kids are DJJ referrals, delicate dependency cases. Um, so a lot have fun that's automatic and high risk. Um, but other things can qualify as well. We do some surveys that ACES, couple other things that survey need. So, then if they qualify, they come in, they get assigned. So they get signed to Mavis or they give signa and so that mentor is in charge of doing one-on-one mentoring with them. But then we also have a group session every Wednesday. >> Is it just like to make them better like right to like get them out of whatever they're in, >> right? To get to show them a different route. You understand? A lot of time they just don't have the right guidance. You saying they following peer pressure. They following those that they see. When they see other people and they see other ways of, you know what I'm saying? Living and having fun and doing other things. They're like, you know, oh [ __ ] I don't have to be on the streets doing this. You know what I'm saying? I could do this. Exactly who it is. I >> I love that. So, you met with her when? >> Yesterday. >> Okay. Which what did she say to you? >> She said um this is the first message with which um my 101. >> This was before you. >> This is this is what made me grab her. Okay. Okay. So, you got this text from her >> at 9:47. >> That was yesterday. >> Yes. >> You saw her today? >> I saw her yesterday. >> Oh, right. Okay. Cuz Oh, this is in the morning. Okay. >> Mhm. and she went to this she went to telling me about you can go through it. She went to telling me about what was going on. She sent me all the information even the uh screenshots off Instagram. She saw Instagram post and it made her want to um reach out to the police cuz she was like she feel like she can help some other girls, you know, prevent this from happening. >> Sure. >> She showed you this when she when you picked her up. >> Mhm. So then when she showed it to me, I said, "Send it to me so I can have everything on my phone." >> Mhm. Okay. So then she meets you, she shows you that. Then what? >> Um I tell her, I say, "You got to um I I'm going need you to talk to your aunt >> because >> she slept with him, >> I think." So >> how old is she? >> 16. 17. 17 now. >> But I believe she slept with him 2 years ago. Um because she what she's telling me is it was brought it was once she seen this, she like, damn. Because he told her at the time he was 18. So now he's telling the kids that he's 18 and he's 24. When he when she told when he told her that he was 18, she said she think he was 22 at the time. So now he's 24, but he's still telling people he's 18 years old. >> And she knows other girls. >> Yes. They're actually reaching out to her and she's transferring information over. >> Do you have all their names? >> Mhm. >> Okay. Let me see that. >> I went to her. I just spoke with her over the phone and I was just writing down as we were talking. She said that um she she had sex with him. She's 16. Um when she found out that he was 24 years old, she felt she felt disgusted. She felt embarrassed. >> She's the one that doesn't want to say anything to her parents. >> Mhm. As they give her the phone number, she's sending it over to me. >> Gotcha. >> She said, "Let me see what she said." I said, "Another one." She said, "Yes, it's a lot, but they're scared to say something." I believe the >> And he reaches out to them on some of the socials. >> Did you see when he was telling them that he's going to stop the messages? >> No. So it's it's messages where >> I think it said I'm going to stop. I got to stack some bread and >> Yeah. I don't I don't know. I I don't know if it's either one of these girls. I'm not sure. So I'm not sure if that's the open case because in the messages she said I was pregnant from he raped me and I was pregnant from him. It's okay to calm down. >> One girl shared that she met the adult during a school music practice. They exchanged contact information, [music] chatted online, and eventually met in person. When the situation began to feel uncomfortable, she grew concerned. But the adult denied responsibility. As the full picture came to light, she learned the adult's real age. Yet, the response she received was only a casual, "I thought you knew and a simple sorry." Once enough information and evidence were collected, the police issued an investigation order and contacted the adult. >> Hey, come on out here, man. >> Smart. >> Smells good out here. >> How you guys doing? >> I'm doing good. Just smoking that reefer. >> We're not messing up. >> Yeah, we're good. You're good. >> Hey, y >> are you guys related to Jamari? Heyari? >> Yeah, that's my brother. >> Okay, come on out here, bud. >> How you doing, man? >> So, here's the deal, man. I got some charges for you. >> I'm going to explain to you just one second. I'm just going to put you in an Yeah, we'll get you shoes. We'll get you everything. Hey, bud. Do you mind grabbing some treats for him? >> I'm going to tell you the charges here in just one second. Okay. >> Hi, man. >> How you doing? >> You got it. you. Mom, I'll explain to you. I'll talk to you in just a second. Okay. >> Good. I'll talk to you, Mom. >> Okay. Come on over here, man. >> All right. You want to uh sit up against this car real quick? Explain your charges real quick. So, you're being charged with unlawful sexual activity with a minor traveling to meet a minor and commit a felony and unlawful way of uh unlawful use of a two-way communication device. Okay. What we're going to do is I'm going to take you back to the station. You can talk or you don't have to talk to the detective and get some answers cleared from them. I don't have those answers because we're not the guys that investigate your case. >> We're just the guys to say, "Hey, go find this guy. Arrest him for me." Okay? So, if you're good with it, we're going to take you back to the station. Like I say, they're going to read you your rights. You can either talk to her or don't talk to her. That's up to you, okay? But at least if you have some answers you need to get clarified just for your own self, that'll be the time to do it. Okay? >> The adults family appeared calm while observing the case [music] as if they expected the outcome. >> So, he's got some charges uh reference to some sexual stuff. >> Yeah, I remember when he was arrested for that. >> It's another one. It's a different one. So that's that's all we can tell you right now. So he's going to go to the county. You you know you can call or look online and and see when you can get bonded out and all that stuff, but he just got to go talk to the detective and then he's going to go to the county jail. >> Okay. >> All right. You got a card that? >> Um no, I don't have any cards, but but he the Palm Beach County booking bler. You can look that up online and uh it's going to take a few hours before he gets booked, but then you can check it out and they'll you'll be able to see whatever that you need. You can call the county >> 6883400 >> or he'll call you if he's a number. You can call you too. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And that will give you the information, the bond and all that. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> Does do you have an ID in here? >> I'm not sure. >> Okay. It's fine. It's all good. >> Okay. >> All right. Any questions? Any >> All right. Just want to know what is going on. >> Yeah. No, understand. Of course. Yeah. >> He's being respectful. >> Yeah. We're not, you know, everything's good. We're just This is This is our job. We just got to go pick up people. So >> Okay. >> All right. All right. Have a good day. >> Have a good day. >> Bring his phone. He wants to bring his phone. >> His phone. >> Do we want transport or what? >> Yeah. Do you want me to get transport? >> Yes. >> Or I could just >> I'll see if anyone's available. Let me see the case number. >> We're going to have a 15. Um, can you cover the case number? It's going to be referenced to >> 17 hours number. 2411944. And uh can you raise a supervisor, please? >> Oh, nice pants. You're killing me, kid. You hear me? >> You're killing me >> with your pants. We're going to take you shopping today. >> We're taking you shopping today. I got to take him shopping. >> Issued blue jeans. >> Issued uh LA police gear pants. >> Y >> they're terrible. You have my usernames now. I don't want to mess up his good pants. >> He don't got no good pants. That's all I got. >> I bet he does. He got some Z Cabaris. >> He's got some uh >> Excuse me. Next time a little quicker. >> No, you got like you got here quick. >> You got here quick. >> Thank you. >> No, thank you. >> Thank you. >> That's it. I'm dead. >> Word on the street. Uh >> you get Do you get a stipen for that? >> There's no stipen. They decided to pay for me. >> I'll meet you on spine and grab them from you. >> Okay. Thank you, ma'am. KFC. >> My pleasure. The man could have been charged with unlawful activity with certain minors, [music] solicitation of a minor or contributing to the delinquency or dependency of a minor. Under Florida law, these charges can carry a maximum sentence of up to 31 years in prison and a $21,000 fine. Minors are often trusting, easily influenced, and [music] lack experience navigating complex social situations. Adults should approach them with understanding, avoid blame, and [music] focus on helping them feel safe rather than silenced. A call for help. A family in conflict. And the truth isn't just in the loud words of adults, but in the quiet accounts of the children. >> That's why I called the police, cuz she started jumping on my son. >> Yeah. And then she started punching. >> On October 12th, [music] 2024, police received a call from a mother reporting a tense situation involving her and her children. Officers quickly arrived and spoke with a [music] mother who explained that she was struggling and that the father's actions were causing concern for the children. >> Hello. Come on. Open the door. Don't Don't >> Oh, look. They're your kids right there. >> I was the one from 851. >> I sure I wouldn't use your phone cuz they took my phone. >> Nobody's there. >> Look, Dad. I ain't got nothing to do with you. >> Yeah. Nobody took her. >> Come on, kids. >> They're going with me. >> Well, when you're done, go ahead. But right now, it's cold as hell. >> Yeah. Get some clothes and get >> and and and and let me tell you, >> I had to run her house and and use her phone. >> Oh, look. They probably looking. I'm at 851. >> No, it's 867. >> I know. But but when we just called again, they was like they're gonna make sure that she knocked on 851. I'm >> That's a mom. >> Okay. >> Mhm. >> Oh, you look just like your dad. >> I just want my son to get that so we can see my kids. All you got to do is >> Oh my god. Look. Hey, this is what she saying. >> No, that don't got nothing to do with no kids. No, she my kids. That's why I called the police. Can you stay up out of my jump on them? >> I called the cops first because ma'am, can you come talk to me real quick? >> Come on over here. >> I just used her phone. >> Come on over. So, what what's going on here? >> Can you stand still for me? >> I've been dealing with this man for a while. >> You look his name up. I've got a domestic on him before he had several. He's a very manipulating person. >> Okay. >> And he started stuff this morning. He got the phone before I did to think it might have been better, but it wasn't. He has started everything today. >> How did it all go down if you don't mind? >> No, I kicked him out again. I can't do him anymore. It made him mad. And then he had my kids involved and they tagged their stuff. And then he called you because I asked him to leave again because I can't do his is being >> so you guys you know the call that was at like 8 Barbara it's my house so ignore it cuz >> so it sort of >> I think they just >> got my hands on me so bad I my pants do I need to make it any more clear you guys have come here before for me and talking about it last >> I went to court and said it was a lie but it's not like you doing no more. He's got McKin's fault. He called you guys first to make it look like it was my fault. >> I just know that >> it doesn't matter who I just know. I just know >> I just know I'm getting I'm being >> okay. 4 days ago she came to my house, [laughter] you know, and said that her I'm not lying. I'm the cool neighbor. Like you need to smile more. I don't know what more I have. >> She was like, "No, my kid can't even play with your kid because he's going to be, you know." >> So, can you can you tell us what happened? I just need him gone. >> Can you tell us what Can you tell us what happened? >> Kicking it out. Kicking him out. So, he's supposed to chase up. Got them involved. They've got their step back. He gone. You guys first. He's He's a >> Okay. What happened today? >> Before this. >> Okay. What happened today? >> Am I right in the jeep? Show me your flashlight. I p myself. Is that good enough for you? When I got thrown down, the bathroom door is busted. Go look at it. >> I don't see anything on your face. >> Go look at the bathroom door. But I got thrown too on myself the whole while. I asked him to leave several times and he wouldn't. And then all the while he called you guys first and I had to run my neighbors because he stole my phone. So I couldn't call nobody. >> Is this your house or is this your >> This is my house. He took my phone so I couldn't call you. He took my phone. >> Yeah. She going to be one to be like, "Yeah, this the bad thing is we can't go off of kids." What they say? >> But I'm telling you, she going to >> I'm just saying my He took my phone so I couldn't call you. I had to run to the neighbors. My phone's still missing. I've seen my fans and there's all in the bathroom doors and you tell me what now I have it. >> Do you have any recordings or anything like that? >> You have records on your police reports. He's done this before. Go look it up. Go look up Darren Macar. >> Ma'am, if you can just stay out here, please. >> No. Like my pants are wet and dizzy and I need do this. I need to change my pants. >> You can lock me in to get new pants. I don't give a pizzy pants and non-deservance. Look in the bathroom in the in the hole in the >> As police gathered more statements, especially from the children, the events began to show a more nuanced picture. >> Yes, you can walk me in to get new pants. I don't give a [ __ ] But I was seeing her in pizzy pants and non-deservance. Go look in the bathroom in the in the hole in the mall. >> Do you mind if we step? >> Yeah, come on. >> I'm just trying to get my mall. >> Are you guys able to tell us what happened? >> Yeah, they was right here. They saying everything. >> Okay. Can you tell us what you saw, dear? So I was in the living room and then I woke up. She started screaming for her phone and she had a cigarette and she throwed it and she blamed it on my dad. And then like a few minutes ago he was calling the cops and there and trying to call him because he was pulling my brother's hair and punching him and he she bust the the bathroom door trying to get in. >> She was punching him. >> No, punching the door. >> Oh, she was punching the door. up. >> Did she hit either of you? >> Yes. >> That's why I called the police cuz she started jumping on my son, hitting it him, and then she started punching herself >> to blame it on my dad. >> Did you see that happening or did the uh one of you see that? >> All of sen I ran in the bathroom, shut the door, and she kicked the whole door in. And then what made me come out the bathroom? My son started yelling for help and I came out to try to get her off of him. Then he ran out the door and we all ran. She started chasing. That's when I called had 911 on the phone. >> Where was she hitting you at? >> Like blowing my hair and then punching me. >> Where is she? >> Like in your body in your face. >> She was just pushing the door and I was trying to get her off the door cuz she keep on hitting me and then she punched me. >> So she was hitting the door and you went and tried to get her off the door and then she turned and hit you. >> Where did she hit? >> Was it in the face? in the body. >> I I don't know. >> You got to tell them where you >> I don't know. >> I need some paint. >> Hang on. Hang out with that officer. >> Does she Does she live here? >> Right here. >> Okay, ma'am. >> I didn't do nothing to nobody. Look at the bathroom. >> Here, ma'am. >> I'm not going to ask again. Go hang out over there. >> No, no, we not. >> Wow. They got He's got my kids again. >> Are you guys married or dating? >> No, no, no. We my kids. We got kids together. >> Okay. So, she's mom to the kids. >> Yeah. He hit me like right here or something. >> Like on your ch on your chest? >> Yeah, like right here. >> On your side. Do you think you have a mark from that? Are you sure? Have you already checked? >> How old are you guys? >> Nine. >> Nine and 11. Did things get physical between the two of you at all? >> No, I ran from every time she tried to me. My son jumped in the middle. That's what made me run in the bathroom cuz she was trying to jump on me and I shut the door and then she start kicking the door in. You can see the door, the bathroom door right there. So then >> and then next I heard my son yelling help. He was crying and he said that he hit start pulling up his hair and if it wasn't for my son she would have jumped on me. >> So this entire >> was trying to get away from >> this entire argument started over her phone. >> Yeah. And we don't even got the phone. She woke us all up yell and talking about the phone. I called the phone. It was like his went straight to voicemail and then she just >> in her [music] account the mother emphasized that she had not endangered her child. She noted that she had stable housing and custody documents while the father did not. His decision to leave with the children raised her concern and disagreement. >> My kids again. >> Who's Who's supposed to be living here? >> This is my house. >> Hold on. Really? I'm trying to help you out here. >> Calm down. >> Who? So ama we stepped up a little here. He isn't even supposed to be here. >> I wouldn't say stepped up. I mean, it's the same guys owning the rosemary, too, right? >> And I got two houses. >> I got two houses, too. >> I just live over here. >> I I work over there and I live right here. >> So, >> he doesn't have a job and he lives here and it's under my name. Okay. I have a job and I live here. >> So, So, listen. You got to make some steps here. >> What? >> You got to make some sense. >> You got You got to >> I can't make some sense. >> Get him out of here. >> He got a mail here. Have you it doesn't matter if it's AMH if not AMHA but section 8 has nothing to do with this. >> No my gun >> they'll be but they only person to be in here is whoever's on the lease. >> He doesn't live here. >> I understand that. >> So he got to go. So they couldn't get him to go because he had his own car. >> We can't force him to do it. wasting things. [laughter] >> And then he took my phone and then he got my kids to pack against me and threw me through the bathroom door. There's a hole in the door and I my pants when I run to the neighbors to use the phone to call you guys. She already me too cuz he has a record long list of domestic and whatever else like he's scared of. So he called you guys first before he left and I ran around his car and used her phone because he took mine. >> First of all, I ain't had no kids there. >> Okay, that's what happened. door. I thought he looked at my baby daddy. I said, "Did I do something tonight?" >> But what I'm what we're trying to say is okay. >> We can't do anything right now. >> Like >> we could do a report. >> Oh, is he okay to throw? >> We're not saying Did I say that? >> Did I say that? What do you want to do? >> Yeah. War. Huh? >> What do you think I want you to? >> Well, we're going to try to separate. He's He said he's leaving. >> I asked him to leave. That ain't good enough. >> Well, you better leave tonight at my house tonight. >> I don't deserve I think you don't deserve it. No, we're not saying you don't at all hands on me. But we can only go what we can prove. >> Well, go look at my bathroom door and look at my piss. >> Go ahead. Go. I think you can prove that. >> Okay. >> Dylan, we understand. >> Look at your record from a few months ago. Did you look him up? >> We did not. >> Okay. Well, I had a court case against him for domestic and he made me cuz he scared me into it. >> Don't look at him up. >> I shouldn't have to say nothing. >> You need a band-aid. Well, you go in there and you uh >> I have another >> If you go down Monday, >> Monday >> is Monday a holiday. Did someone say something? Whatever. The next day the court's open. Go down there and get a protection order and then he can't come back here. He can't talk to you >> before. I've done that before. But he can just run my kids up. >> They're both doing [ __ ] about this. >> No. >> It's not not that we're not doing anything. >> Don't worry. >> You can't arrest. No, we can we're not talking long. >> Well, it's it's his word and your word and they're not obvious. >> Which better matter? The one with the laundry list or mine? >> It doesn't m you know what it's >> Well, then why are you guys here? >> It goes off, ma'am. It goes off of what we can prove. Obviously, you called us and and right now you're not getting or you're not getting thrown around. So, we're obviously doing something, >> right? >> Yeah. >> So, he can take off my kids and then that's it. I have cheering. I mean, if that's going to calm the situation down >> and he's going to take off with my kids >> for the day. He's not going to leave. You're going to see your kids. What are they going to go to Florida? >> He doesn't have a house. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, this will just keep on happening. >> It's not going to keep You got to do some steps yourself. >> What? This was my first step is you guys, >> but it didn't. You guys aren't doing anything for me. >> We are. >> I'm just done talking. He can't do nothing. I need to change my pants. >> We're not going in there. Go there. He's still in there. You guys figured out the name >> and I will go in and change my pants. >> We're going to let him know. >> Is he leaving? >> He'll be back in my life. He'll take my like he does. >> The investigation became more complex when a neighbor provided [music] statements supporting one side. But this did not significantly alter the overall picture that was emerging. >> You guys aren't married, correct? >> No. >> Have you ever been to court and uh like had like a custody agreement? >> I got papers. I got I got papers. We got I got papers. >> But My peers can go with me at any time. >> I got paperwork. The police. >> Well, I'm going to have you grab that paperwork here in a minute. >> I got paper. >> Mom threw a cigarette. Correct. Did she throw it at someone on the >> I got paperwork? >> No, but she said everybody was over. >> She threw it over there >> and then she picked it back up. He's saying that. >> All right. So, what did you see happen with the cigarette? >> She she threw it at the she picked it up and then throw it at my dad >> and then threw it at you. Did you get a cigarette thrown at you? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> To happen cuz I don't want to leave her. From another perspective, [music] the mother appeared exhausted by ongoing conflict with the father, still striving to remain close to her child. Her intentions were motivated by care, but the tension affected the child's behavior. >> Told you 6:45. She was knocking at my mother door. 7:06 is when we finally called cuz she didn't know how to shut the screaming. I said, "Do my kids in this mother, you better shut the before you get punched out." Okay, I can fix it. But he's getting to the point where this morning he was arguing with me. I finally kicked him out and I grew some balls and it hurt really bad and I was like, I need you to leave. Like I like kicked him out of my house finally for the first time and I kicked him out. He's packing his stuff and then of course he got up again. What do you mean? And then he kept coming back into my bedroom and staying with me. And I said, "Darren, when I wake up in the morning, you need to go." Cuz I knew he didn't have any place to go. He had no place to sleep. So I said, "When I come out my room, I want you to go cuz you're no good for me anymore. He's making me bad at my job. I could be a better mom. I could be a better person and a better human being if he was just out of my life." And I finally needed to let him go. I'm like, "Dar, when I wake up in the morning," I said, "Go." I said, "But you can sleep here, but when I come out my room," I said, "You need to be gone." I said, "I cannot be with you anymore. Everybody's been telling me to do this for a long time, and I know I need to do this, but I've held on for my kids." Okay? My kids love him, obviously. They packed their bags and went with them. They love their daddy. I can't do it anymore. So, I finally said, "I cannot be with you. I do not love you anymore. When I come out of my bedroom, I need gone." That started a riot. >> So, I just want to make sure I have your >> When he realized I had enough. And the last time he came in there and [ __ ] with me after I said, "Darren, I need you to be gone today." And he knew I meant it. That was when hell broke loose. I got thrown through the hallway, bathroom door. There's a big hole in my pants. Kids got woke up, started screaming around, trying to like stop him from pushing me around. My phone disappeared. I couldn't call you guys. He called you guys first to make it look better because he has a messy and I knew he'd do that. Whatever. I ran to the neighbors in my socks and then called you guys second. I don't like to do that, but I asked him to leave nicely with me this morning. I just want to make sure I have your story and now I'm arrested for I didn't put my hands on nobody. I did that for me and my kids. >> I just want to make sure I have your story straight. >> My story is like the real story. >> Was there any other physicalness that happened? >> Well, you didn't physically touch me at all after that. >> So, he threw you through the door. >> Yeah. Doesn't look like you're driving. >> You weren't driving. >> You're trying to protect him. >> You're going to get yourself in trouble. It's better to tell me the truth. >> Cuz you're going to get yourself in a lot of trouble for not being the driver. Okay. >> Can you ask her again? driving. >> Don't look. The girl became confused with the pedals, causing the vehicle to collide with the structure. >> Hey, the only one without shoes is this guy, and there's two shoes on the driver's side floorboard. So, um when the daughter said that she was in the driver's seat, dad was in the passenger seat. Dad was trying to teach her how to drive. She's 13. She confused the brake for the gas pedal. Slammed into the car. As far as I'm concerned, he had control. I mean, he was >> So, I spoke with the kid that was in the in the back, his son, and said the same thing. >> I would take him in for endangerment. Where's your mom? She's there. >> Hello. Hello. Sheriff's department. Where's your parent? >> Uh, >> where is your parent? >> You want to work? >> What? >> Call them now. I don't have a phone. >> You don't have a phone? >> I don't know their number. >> You don't have a phone programmed? >> Do you know their phone number or something? >> This kid's 8 years old, home alone, out running around in traffic. >> Yeah, like a couple. >> He went and got a drink at the store. >> Come here. We're here trying to help you. Where are your parents? >> So, how long you been here by yourself? >> Huh? You got a brother? >> No. >> You live at your home? >> Mhm. >> Why you ran away from us? >> So you going under arrest me? >> No, we're not. We're not going to arrest you. Didn't your mom Didn't your mom and dad tell you not to run away from the police? Just wait right here. All right. >> Hello. >> All right. How you doing, man? >> Good. >> All right. >> How about I have anything? >> Mom is not home. Do you have any information for her? Like a phone number or something? Yeah, but usually here too. >> He almost got hit by a car. >> He got hit. >> He almost got hit by a car. He was found wandering out on jogg. >> You went >> Well, he's not supposed to be home alone like this. >> No, you're not. The uncle is there. >> Who? >> The uncle. >> He's there. >> The uncle not here. >> You said his name's Dave, right? >> Yeah. Usually he come here when he's >> Nobody's there. We're knocking on the door. Nobody's answering. I got so busy. I have to do something. I have a baby and I have doing work at home. >> Understand? Do you have phone numbers for >> Yes. Let me let me get it. Get my phone. >> Okay. >> Upstairs. >> Thank you so much. >> Hello. Hi, Miss Hunter. >> This is her. >> Hi. How you doing? This is Deputy Story. Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. The reason why we're calling is because Haven, he was found wandering in traffic and almost got hit by a car >> and then we end up following him to here cuz he ran all the way back to his house. >> Who? >> So he eloped cuz he elopes. He's Oh my god, this damn child. >> He what? >> He elopes. >> What's eloped? I've never heard that term for a child. >> Elo when like a child wonders. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Well, I understand. But the thing is, who is supposed to be here watching him? >> He's He's with Menende at 6 because my uncle just left for work. >> No, he's not. He's been in the house by himself. >> Yeah, he's supposed to be in her care. >> Yeah, but he never made it to her care. That's all right. >> So, we're supposed to arrest her for child neglect and not you. >> It's not a matter of child neglect. >> This is a matter of child neglect. There's somebody not watching this kid. There's nobody here parenting him. He doesn't know how to call for help. He doesn't know anything. and he doesn't have a phone or anything to call. >> I don't know what's going on. >> Ma'am, I'm sorry, but you need to come home like right away. We got to get one statement from you. >> I left around 6:30 and he's supposed to be next door. So, I don't understand. >> How was he supposed to be next door? Did you actually walk him next door? Or did you tell him to go next? >> Normally, you tell him to go next door. He goes over there and I saw him go over there. >> He never made it there. >> Like, we live in a safe neighborhood. So I never >> Yeah, it's safe, but he's not safe if he wandered all the way out to tent and jog and almost get struck by a car to the point where people had to call in. But you have to come over now, please. Thank you. >> A witness, the driver who nearly encountered the boy, stated that no adult was nearby at the time. >> Of course, I don't remember. I think I dropped my son off at Astro. I went back to the mobile to see Well, no, I did go in the gas station, too. And I I explained to this young boy. I said, "Do you understand that I almost killed you with my car?" He didn't understand. He was looking at me. He was like, "Huh?" I was like, "Where's your parents?" I was thinking they were across the street, maybe. I mean, I was just keeping an eye on him. So, I walked out of the Shell gas station. I dropped my son at Astro and then I went to the mobile gas station thinking he's either going to come across the street, maybe he's here, maybe I could tell his parents, maybe something. Yes. So I see him then come out of the Shell gas station and again he ran into the street >> while cars were still >> while cars were follow while cars were coming. >> Okay. >> Um I didn't pay too much attention but I did follow him home. He almost got hit over here too because he crossed the street and a car had to swerve here. >> Oh going down tents. >> No going right here in this neighborhood. >> Oh wow. Okay. >> Somebody was coming in the because I followed him all the way home. >> I stayed on the phone with 911 and I kind of kept a distance from him. So, as they were turning this bend right here, he crossed the street, didn't even look again, and almost got hit. That car had to swerve, whoever was coming out of this neighborhood. Um, so then I pulled up next to him. I was like, "Do you need a ride home? Where's your parents?" >> Yes. >> And he was not answering me. He like kept like fast walking like to get away from me >> and then I saw him just come here and then an officer pulled up next to me and they said they got it and I left. >> So, just for the record, I just want to make sure did at any time did you see any adult near? >> There was no adult. The mother who had just returned home mentioned [music] the uncle to lessen her responsibility reflecting the challenges many families face in balancing [music] work and child care. >> Hello. Are you the mother? >> I am. Good night. >> Hi. Good night. How you doing? I'm still the one you were talking to and that's Deputy Brown. >> Hi. >> How are you? >> You want to you want to talk to here or you want to talk to her by our house or >> by your house? >> Oh, daughter sign. >> Yeah. Y car. Um and we um law enforcement been waiting here for a parent. How long y'all been waiting for? >> We've been here from right about 7:00. Yeah. >> 7. So about two 2 hours and 30 minutes. >> Mhm. >> I got to ask you a few questions. Where do you current work? >> I do multiple stuff. Um I have my own business. I do home health. So it depends. >> You have any other children? >> No, just him. >> We all live in the home. >> Me, him, and my uncle. My uncle. My uncle's home. He's home. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Cuz it was report that he was at work. >> Yeah. He's home. >> That's when he got home. >> Since when? Cuz we knocked on the door. >> He passed you guys. >> He passed us. >> The guy in the black security suit. >> We didn't see nobody. I >> didn't see nobody in no security suit. >> Yeah, he was on the phone. He said I thought he I thought I heard him say, "Hi officer or something our evening." >> No. Mom. >> Yeah, he's inside. So, what's his what's his name? Dave. Dave. Dave. >> We've been sitting there the whole time. Ain't nobody walk past us. You sure? >> You can check with him. He's upstairs. D A V E. >> So, normally he's if my uncle's home, he's he'll stay with my uncle. >> So, we left today. Was your uncle home? >> No, my uncle wasn't home today. He and he got home ear earlier than I did, but he normally stays with my neighbor or her daughter comes over. So with the day, so you you can't verify that he actually went over there cuz I cuz >> he went this way, but to verify that he actually like went in the house. I didn't see that part, but he always goes over there. I've never had any issues with him not going over men to stay. >> So if he normally goes over there and you leave him to go over there, >> how is it the whole house is open? >> I locked up. >> Sliding glass doors open. All the lights are on just as you see the houses now. Is it? >> No, no. I leave the lights on in my house, but >> sliding glass door. >> Sliding glass door. He This door is open. He was able to go. >> Everything is open. That's how we were able to knock. >> Yeah. So, I don't know if he went back in, but when I was leaving, I closed up. >> I'm asking asking real quick question. >> No. No, it's not you. My frustration has just >> I speak with Dave. >> Dave? Yeah. >> Dave? >> Yeah. >> Should I call him down? >> However, once named, [music] the uncle also became part of the investigation. In the end, the mother had to take responsibility for leaving her child home alone without proper supervision. >> Yes, sir. Yeah, you come downstairs. You can come outside. We got to speak to you. >> What is it? >> Someone outside has to speak to you. >> I think DC has to talk to you. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's the DC. >> Did you go to work today? >> Sure, I did. >> So, you went to work today? Was here? >> I went to work this morning 15 minutes to 10. I left him. As a [ __ ] he didn't wake. So when you left him, his mom was here, correct? >> Both of them are here. >> What time did you return home? >> I leave 8:35. >> What time you guys tonight? >> What time I get tonight? >> Yeah. What time? >> I'm telling you, when I leave, we deliver 8:35 p.m. [music] I have to take a Uber. I work at Wellington. >> So I reach here about 5 minutes to 9 somewhere nearby there. That's my regular time. >> His mom was at work that night. Where will he be? >> His mom is at work that night. >> Yeah. will hate you. >> If I'm here with you mean if I'm here you'll be here me if I don't go to work those time you be here talking so I'm saying so both you guys working like today like tonight where would you come home at 9:00 where would Haven be I don't know I don't understand this when >> both of you guys going to work at the same time right where would Haven know me stay that that don't happen right now >> okay but if it did happen where would where would Haven be >> I think she left him by the neighbor around there >> okay thank you All right. So, you understand the whole circumstances of everything, how this whole works, right? At this time, >> you're under arrest for child. >> Yes. >> As far as your child, would you like your neighbor to keep your child with her? >> I think I need to call my mom cuz I don't know who's >> wrong. Arrest him. >> All right. >> Is that okay? >> Yeah. Yeah, that's fine. >> Right to the left. Left. >> Can we go this way? Never heard this. >> Our cars are right here. >> Oh, SUV. >> Wait, did you can you close it? Yeah. >> Only in Florida. >> I'm getting arrested. This is This is crazy. >> I'm going down the window so you get some. >> Oh my god. >> Yeah. >> All right. You got brown bag or no? Um, not like clear about it, but >> the mother was charged with child neglect. Under Florida law, [music] she could face 5 years in prison or probation, plus a $5,000 fine. Even in seemingly safe areas like the front yard or neighborhood, children can encounter unexpected dangers. Adults need to have supervision plans and ensure [music] children have proper means of communication before leaving them home alone. In Florida, a 2-year-old child was also a this time in the middle of a desolate forest. No, he didn't. He He was just right there. It wasn't even 5 minutes, he said. >> On May 12th, 2025, Indian River County police received an emergency call reporting a 2-year-old child [music] in the woods, having walked nearly a mile. None of the neighbors knew who the child was. Chilling accounts that the toddler had nearly been by a car and almost abducted pushed police to act without delay. Officers quickly arrived at the scene and began taking witness statements. >> Yes, thank you. Um, I'm sorry, father. I'm shaking right now. Um, me and my daughter are out in the yard playing. I look up right there >> where that fallen tree is. >> Yeah. Came out of here. I know everybody around here. This is not anybody's kid. >> Came out of them woods. I'm shaking right now. >> What kind of truck was it that drove up here? >> It was a white car. It looked like an old Toyota like a '9s >> like an old Corolla or something >> kind of. And it was full of looked like migrant men. And they weren't acting suspicious or anything, but they were like, "Hey, hey, is this your kid?" I was like, "No." And then they were trying to make her over there. And I was like, "No, the hell you won't." Hi. >> Hi. >> I was over my friends with him. >> Disappeared. >> Okay. Give me one second. >> Right here. >> What did you do? Yeah. >> Thinking Delta Charlie. >> Do you have an ID real quick? I do. Actually, it's in my pocket moment. Birthday weekend and I was shopping and >> we made got some water. >> This literally just happened and not 3 months ago. And yeah. And now it's going to happen all over again. You can see >> I'm so sorry. I couldn't I had just >> You're all right. I I understand the child child. I was freaking out cuz I literally just got home cuz I know you can hear this thing driving. >> I just told dispatch I was like whoever pulls up besides an officer they're not and they made me secure my firearm in the house. She wasn't going anywhere. Still not until she let you. No offense. >> Oh, I know. [laughter] >> Believe me. >> So, we're playing. I look up. I see a little child. I'm waiting for somebody to walk in the car. >> Mhm. >> What was the address again? You said >> she had to have come right out of here. Mhm. >> And on the side of the house, it literally just goes along the middle ditch. He was able to come right down the middle ditch through this. >> Okay. And where >> Cody go? >> The big one. >> C Y. >> C O D Y. G O B L E. >> G O B. Do you know his date of birth? >> 11385. >> What's his middle initial? >> W. >> Do you and Cody live together or? >> Not currently. No. >> Okay. So, he was supposed to be watching. Okay. He was supposed to be watching. came by. >> Yeah, because he just literally called me and told me she he could. >> So, >> did he say how long ago? >> Friend's house. No, he didn't. He He was just right there. It wasn't even 5 minutes, he said. >> Though the mother claimed her child was only lost for 5 minutes. Police grew suspicious and kept questioning her. >> Who's not 1012? First name is Cody, C O D Y, middle initial Wiskey. Last name is G Oscar Bravo Lima Echo. Hi, how are you? Hi. I know this may feel a little redundant. I know you spoke to the other deputies already, but I'm the deputy who's here to investigate whatever happened today. Okay. Okay. >> Uh, what happened to your knowledge? >> To my knowledge, literally, I can probably tell you the phone call. I received a phone call. I just got done like shopping, picking my friend Amanda up. I was dropping her off at home, just hanging out a minute, you know, chitchatting, whatever. Girlfriend, too. He called me on the phone and said he couldn't. >> Who's he? >> Okay. >> She's only like two blocks down. So I immediately came and double checked the house and then soon as I got in the car to leave and drive around the neighborhood, I seen the deputy here and I came here. >> Who called you again? Sorry. Can you clarify who who called you and say again? >> He couldn't find. >> And why didn't he call the police? >> He was hoping that hides. She likes to hide. Does she hides? She does it to me all the time. But >> he doesn't run away on >> you guys live together. >> You're not living together right now. >> Are you legally married together? Now, >> how long have you been separated for? >> 2 weeks. >> 2 weeks? >> Yeah. >> Um, do you have your phone with you? >> Can you show him? Did he text you or call you? >> He my phone off or not off, but >> Okay. And what time did you drop off to him today? >> I Well, we all had went go earlier, get something to eat or what have you, and get a few birthday things cuz he needed to go and I dropped him off. I left at it was 5:30. >> 5:30. like 10 to Yeah, it was like in between 5:30 and 10 to 6. >> Okay. So, you dropped off >> dropped him off to go pick up my friend. >> How long to be there with him today? >> She was only there like I don't for very long. Just a couple an hour or two >> and off so that you could run some errands with that. >> It turned out the family had been on DCF's watch list for a prior missing child case. >> Do you guys have a custody agreement or anything place or you got to work it out together? No, it's it's just basically I take care of all the time and you know because he's done this before. >> What do you mean he's done this before? >> All right. So, I just got out of a open DCF case because the last time I in his care ran away. I'm trying to think who the death seat was. It was um it was a while every bunch of them. So, but um >> so this is so >> it was like in December or January. She's >> of this year of like this year. December/ January. >> Yes. Can't remember the exact date. >> Was law enforcement involved in that case? >> Yes. Yes. because a lady wouldn't get back to dad and had already called law enforcement so y'all were already on the way so on so forth and that and the same issue I was >> did he get in trouble with law enforcement during that incident or >> no no the only DCF case was on me cuz it DCF lady literally says it falls back on it's my responsibility >> so to clarify so today at 5:30 p.m. you dropped off with dad while you were doing some errands and shopping and then at 7:21 p.m. He calls you from his phone saying, "Hey, I can't find." What else did he say to you? Did you >> I don't know. I mean, it was kind of like, you know, like, "Are you sure?" At the time, I didn't know that my other my other boys are there, too. >> Witnesses went on to reveal what they had seen, shedding light on how the toddler appeared so unexpectedly. >> Hi, sir. How are you? Are you the one who located the uh >> I live here. >> Okay. How are you, sir? Risk the sheriff's office. >> I know you. You do? >> What's your last name? >> James. I think I met you out here before. >> Maybe. >> Yeah. Not in a bad way. You ain't going to get no bad stuff from me. [laughter] Can you tell me exactly from the beginning what you saw? What happened? >> Yeah, I was sitting over there. My daughter, we come out in the evening to run around. It's a BB gun. >> You're good. >> Hey, Rayan, come here and watch, please. >> This is the problem. Okay. >> Hey, keep up here. Okay. So, I was sitting up here and we were just running around and I just out of corner of my eye seen her come out of the woods over here like right out of here. And I was just waiting for somebody to walk cuz it was like adjacent to the truck. >> Walking or crawling? >> Walking. And then when I got up and walked over here, I looked there was nobody coming. right in front of where this white SUV my friend Cliff lives right there. There was a uh like an older I want to say like a Toyota, maybe a four-door. And there was about four or five Hispanic men in there. They weren't acting aggressive or anything. And they were like, "Hey." I'm like, "No." And they were trying to take her over there to there's a gentleman that lives here named Mike where the where the truck is over here and they're like, "No, no, they got boys. It's not." And they're like, "Well, take her." I was like, "No, you're not. You're not nobody." So I >> got animal and they came by one more time but I think they were just making sure that I wasn't >> and can you walk over there? Can you certainly specifically walk out of >> well directly come out come from this way and I was just looking this way wasn't coming down the street and I said what are you doing came right here hands up. So I was sitting right there and this is when I standing right here >> appear to be in distress panting. She was very happy. Didn't seem scared at all. Didn't seem to familiar with Have you ever met before? Never. Okay. Never. Um there's a lot of children that resemble the neighborhood, but I can personally say I've never seen her before. >> Have no one or no adults around >> just the the car full of the strange men. >> After gathering [snorts] more information, they rushed to the father's house and knocked on the door. Sadly, no one answered. >> I'm still hot. >> Okay. Um I'm going to go down there. Number one, there supposed to be two more kids, seven and nine. I need to be sure the other kids are not missing. I don't want mom to leave yet and I want to see what DCF wants to see. They just had a case for the same issue. There wasn't an arrest in that case. So, I don't know the circumstances of it. Nonetheless, this is child. So, we're going to go down. >> Did you say how long? Do we ever get a time frame? >> I uh Mom dropped off the baby at 5:30 p.m. So, I don't know how long dad dad called her at 7:21 saying that, "Oh, I can't find her." And that's why mom drove over here panicking figure out what happened. I have to go talk to dad to figure out fill up the blanks. Indian River County Sheriff's Office. If you're inside, make yourself known. We are going to make entry. >> No, >> Cody, this [laughter] is the Indian River County Sheriff's Office. If you're inside the house, make yourself known. We are going to make entry. >> You good, Josh? >> Yeah. Just let her get in the back first. >> Again, Cody, this is the Indian River County Sheriff's Office. We are going to make entry. If you're inside, make yourself known. >> He's not known to have firearms on him. And she said he would not be any violent cuz he knows what's good for him. He flags. >> They used to go they used this this house used to be all white supremists out of prison. >> All right. Searching. >> So it appears >> everybody still hot? >> Yeah. It appears he took a bike. >> I'm going to take this. >> Those wood you see on that we we go we go. They're all gone or all houses being built. It looks like he picked up his bike over the tarp, dropped his phone, and then the bike went >> west. I'm going to call this for >> Yeah. Instead, they were horrified to find the other two children also wandering outside. And the father, he vanished as soon as police showed up. Not long after, officers discovered he had fled and bought a new phone. Step by step, they tracked the number and finally made contact with him. >> Who am I speaking with? >> Cody. >> Hey, Cody. Hey, this is Shico Brewer with the sheriff's office. How you doing today, man? >> Not doing too good, man. >> All right. Well, we were trying to get a hold of it yesterday, but you weren't home. >> I was home. My phone my and my phone. They say y'all found it in the ditch, but it must have fell out of my pocket or something. You know, it scared me. So, I I ran down the ditch and then I seen the officer at the corner of this thing and like I didn't, you know what I mean? She just she was playing in the front yard and then she ran down the ditch. >> All right. So, >> yeah. So, Cody, um, would you be willing to talk to me in person? >> Nope. Because y'all say y'all was for my arrest. I'm definitely I'm not going back to jail. I don't want to go to jail. I don't deserve to go to jail. I don't understand. I don't mind talking, you know, but the last time they tricked me. They took I I don't So, listen. I don't know. >> So, Cody, can you hear me? >> Yeah. >> All right. Well, let me just explain something to you real quick, Cody, real fast. >> I'm going to jail. I can't hold >> Well, hang on. Let me explain something to you real quick, Cody. Okay. Cuz understand you reached out to another deputy cuz you wanted to talk and I appreciate that. Okay. But Cody, just because of the allegations of what's going on, I just want to make you aware that you understand yet you do not have to talk to me. Correct. >> I know. But I want to be in trouble. >> I know. I legally have to say this to you, though, Cody. I'm just trying to be sure I do my job the right way. So, you understand, Cody? You understand? You don't have to talk to me and you can hang up at any time. Do you understand that? >> I do. >> With that in mind, are you willing to speak with me, Cody, over the phone? >> Yeah, I'm tired to talk, but I I don't want to go to jail, me and my wife. My wife's leaving me a while. >> The father began recounting the story from the child wandering along a ditch to his own search for the dock. Every detail exposed his blatant irresponsibility. >> So Cody, let me ask you this, man. What What happened yesterday? What happened? >> All I did she was playing right there in the driveway like my buddies just left uh from going to the scrapyard or whatever, you know, and um she was right here playing in the little sand tile out front and then she moved over there to the ditch. I had to walk around because I can't be in my backyard, you know. >> Okay. >> Through the fence cuz I don't got a gate. So I She was right there by the beer cans and stuff playing at that time. >> Okay. >> So then I walked around because my wife's little dog, Costa, is scared of me for whatever reason. I've never done anything this poor dog, but it runs, you know, he's scared of most males. Okay. >> So he got out down the road. He ran down the road. So I wasn't even trying to run him, you know what I mean? I try coasta coasta and then I come back like I was literally probably 20 ft somewhere, you know? And then I looked over now. I'm like, "Damn, I don't see her." So, and me and my wife was just texting at the time and stuff, you know? I mean, you can go back and look on the phone. And then I like I said, "Oh, God." I called her right away and said, "Brandy," I went upstairs and looked. You know, last time she just went to my kids's bus stop, thank God. But she I followed her feet tracks down the ditch and then I heard Brandy coming. So, I wanted to let my wife [music] know like, "Hey, the officer's down there at the corner of the road. Go talk to them, you know, and >> Okay. >> and that stuff." And uh yeah, she just she just ran down the dick and I was following her a few tracks. If I hadn't have turned around to go talk to the old lady in the driveway, then I would have I would have caught her in time. You know what I mean? >> I got you. So So to clarify, the the dog took off. He went to catch the dog and then when he turned around, she was gone. >> Yeah. She is what happened was she went down the ditch bank a little bit and then through my neighbor's house. There's like they got both of them got fences. My neighbors. >> Yeah. >> So there's like a little pathway in between the fences. I'm assuming that's where she came out at. And then the neighbor on the corner or whatever neighbor close to the corner called called you guys and cuz I guess I seen the white car trying to to take the people a car load of people in a white car. So >> So you saw you saw a car full of people. Why didn't you >> No, no, no. The the man the man already the man on the corner or whatever already had him, sir. That's what I'm trying. You know what I mean? He he said these I guess these people were trying to take her. That's just the rumor on the streets and that's what the old lady said. a car load of people. >> Okay. But no, no. Only tell me what you saw, not what you heard. Did you didn't see any of that. That's just what you were told by someone else. Correct. >> Yeah. Yes. Yes. >> Okay. Which way did your dog take off when you were trying to catch your dog? Where'd your dog go again? >> Well, he goes to my neighbor's house directly like right behind me. His name's Ian. >> But opposite opposite of the ditch bank cuz he would have saw your direction, >> right? So, all I did was step out in front of my driveway. I walked out the ditch to the dirt road. Costa was already running around the corner like headed back south on the dirt road headed south again you know so I already know where he was going so I turn around and 3 minutes it wasn't even that >> oh to excuse he claimed I don't have a phone >> so let me ask you this why didn't you call 911 >> sir I I don't have a phone I mean I do have a phone I do have a phone yeah I >> at the time you had a phone because you were talking to to your wife >> yeah yeah you're right I didn't mean I'm so used to not having one I literally just got like four days ago Yeah. >> Yeah. So, I didn't feel the need to call 911 because she didn't go far normally, you know. >> Well, how did you know you're located? >> I seen the officer or Brandy or my wife. She went around the block and then she came back and then we both was in the middle of a dirt road.
