Hello. And who else is back here? Do you rent from them? Yeah, we're we're not just a part of life with the kids and everything. Okay. Well, I need you guys to come out here for now, okay? Okay. And then if you guys have any IDs, bring them out, too, okay? Do you guys have any kids back here? No. Cuz I'm missing a kid. Oh, no, we don't have a kid back here. Okay, let's go outside, guys. You're good, man. We just need to identify everyone that's here in the house. Let's go, man. I'm not going to be looking through your stuff. As long as the kids don't have access to it, I Let's just go. And who stays in this room? Anybody? Anyone in here? Hey, I need you guys to come out. I'm going to seize the house for a search warrant. Let's go. I need you to step out of the house, please, okay? Do you need an ambulance? No? Because I have a whole lot of in this house around kids, so Let's go, man. I'm not answering questions right now. I need you guys to come out of the house. Are there any other people back there? Mhm. Okay, you're good. Let's have him hurry up, okay? So, as soon as I identify everyone, we'll have everyone step out. But this should be everyone right now. Just stay here with her. Thanks, man. Officers also observed that the rooms were cluttered, with some items placed near the children's sleeping areas. Some adults attempted to quickly move or cover these items upon seeing authorities. So, you just said the tin foil is in the trash can in your room. Do you know if Francisco is in there? No. Was he in the bedroom as well? There is a lot of people in there right now. There's about I think about 12 people inside right now. So, I'm going to start seeing if I have to get out. Um there is a in the center room, the bedroom, a keeping pile of burnt tin foil. That's the only one I saw. No, one of the bedrooms. As soon as you look at down the hallway, it's that first bedroom right as you enter. There's a one twin-size bed, and there's a dresser right next to it, and on the dresser, just a keeping pile of burnt tin foil. As soon as we identify everyone, run everyone, make sure no one else is wanted. How many [ __ ] people? It's mostly mom and dad. Hey, what do you What are you thinking? So, I'm going to call the DA's, see if I can do a search warrant on photos and my phone. That, and then who is my The captain said Barco. For Barco. Barco was assigned this family or something like that. He wants to come out here and do interviews and stuff. They said just They said just to call I just talked to Nico about it. I'm not talking to you, but he said just to call Barco directly. He already coordinated that. Do you want a 16 of people with the other ones? Yeah, 16 everybody. I agree with you. Did you see the Yeah. So, mom says that she's She knows the parents They didn't put in this kid in this situation, but they also didn't have a home. Now, the people who are responsible Now, hers This room has no one kids staying in that house. Who is responsible for the child? People using or the mom is trying to do what she can? The way I The way I look at it is both. Anyone that knows the children were here, the doors were unlocked, kids are out of an age that they have can open doors, have access to it, and I This parent has immediate access to walk in the room. They tell me who's staying in this room. Is there anyone That's the bathroom. No, no, no. >> middle room. Um the kids were in the shower. Actually, this is a weird part. So, when you 16 here, the kids were in the back. And as soon as I came back here, the kids were no longer in the back. I think dad rushed them inside to take a shower. They were all in the back, just like this tin foil. So, when he was back here, when the these two cops were back here, I told them like, "Leave." And they won't leave. And they kept on shoving stuff in that in that old dresser right there. And in the bag, and then this yellow container right here. Oh, yeah. Yeah. But they are the ones that have warrants, I think. So, we know they were staying in this room. And I saw them both in here, too. We still have that front bedroom with the mom and dad were staying in. Yeah. I left it open, so it must have been the The So, we're going to have to Or we can ask for consent from that guy. So, We're going to do a search warrant anyway, if it gets approved. Okay, that's cool. We just want to make sure no one's in there, though. The dad locked it in? Must have come back here and locked it. There's a way to get through here to the house, isn't there? Uh yes, the only way is through the kitchen. Or is it connected to the house at all? No, no. Technically, yes. No door that goes directly to the house. Did you ever look in here? Francisco, let's talk to you, man. Let's just talk outside, away from the kids. Well, their grandma is outside. She can take them. All right here, dude. One room was locked, requiring officials to obtain permission to continue their review safely. So, we're going to seize the house for a search warrant, right? So, we can't say we're going to get a search warrant. We're just saying We just want to make sure no one's in that back bedroom. Yeah, no, we were just changing in there. Would you mind Would you mind letting us just see, just so we can make sure the house is safe? Yeah, but I don't have I don't You don't have the key? No. Who would have a key to that back bedroom? Children living in a environment where the meaning of a safe, nurturing home had gradually been compromised. What is the word? The test wasn't difficult, but in her state, it became a real challenge. On July 5th, 2024, in St. Petersburg, authorities responded to a traffic accident involving a 26-year-old woman who briefly disoriented of her vehicle and collided with a concrete barrier. Alarmingly, the 2-year-old child in the car was not properly secured and was at risk. Officers quickly arrived and collected statements from witnesses. She was traveling down the street. We were heading this way. And she didn't have any lights on. She tried to put her hazards on. Only one hazard light was working. And then the car went off and then all of a sudden she just lost control and pushed the gas. There was no lights on. Three Bravo. She was traveling southbound. We were both traveling this way. And she had no lights on? No lights on. She had her hazard lights on. Only one hazard light was blinking. She couldn't figure out how to get her lights on and off. So you could tell you could see her. That's what it was. She was tapping her brakes and that's the only time her brake lights would come on. When all of a sudden she just gassed it and went straight into those people's yard. We was She passed us flying. So she was in that right that right lane. She had no She was going this way? No, she coming from This way? Yeah. And I was saying, "They ain't got no lights." I said, "So they might I said but she's driving a little too fast." But I have a curve around a curve with no no lights. She had like one hazard light and bright lights. No headlight. And I said she must got the hazards cuz it was like flashing yellow. It was only on the right side of the car. When when she got Right here at the curve, a car went by and she came I don't know she could see THE ROAD NO MORE. SHE came straight this way. >> Oh, she didn't continue with the curve. She just came straight. Yes. That's how she came. Um Um I'm nervous, so grab I don't know nothing from the car or anything like that. If you want just for now, just have a seat on the curb. >> my purse. Just leave it there for now and if I'm able to go get it, then I'll I'll come grab it, okay? But I want you to just have a seat on this curb for right now, okay? What kind of car? Kia Sportage. Oh, those are good cars. And it only had 82,000 miles. Oh, that's it? An '07. Not bad. You could sell that thing. What up? You think she was going northbound? Where were you driving this way? Yeah, I was coming this way. I had to take some of my home and I was wanting to go home. You were going that way or you're going that way? >> Coming from that way, too. Is that south? No, that's north. Going from south. I had no idea. Oh, okay. Sorry. No, you're good. Oh my god. I want to feel all of them again. I wouldn't try to get up yet. No, let me. Oh, you can lift. You want to go to the hospital? No. Hey Crystal. Hey, I'm Officer Cannon. And we were talking a little bit earlier. Do you mind standing up and coming with me to the front of my cruiser so we can talk a little bit more? No. All right. And then just come right over here to this SUV that's right in front of us. And I just want you to stand in front of that bumper, turn around and face towards me, okay? Can I close it? Yes, absolutely. Please. I'm missing a lot of my stuff. No, you're good. Um what we're doing is what I talked to you earlier, that's all for your civil crash stuff, okay? The crash itself is just civil. So what I'm doing right now is I'm changing from a civil crash investigation to a criminal DUI investigation. I'm not saying you're impaired or anything like that, but yeah, that's what I'm saying. I'm not saying you're impaired. I'm just here to just set this straight and any alarms that you concerns that you may have. Okay? So before we continue Just one minute. But all we're doing is changing from a civil crash to a criminal DUI investigation, okay? So it's a changing of the hats. Before we continue, I'm going to read you your rights as when you go to jail. It's just how we do things, okay? Am I going to jail? As of right now, you are not going to jail, okay? Does it have to be DUI? It's just an investigation. I haven't even made that determination yet. You know what I mean? Just an Okay, so it's not final. No, no, okay? All right. So you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you while being questioned. You can have court to hire a lawyer wanting to be appointed to represent you. You decide anytime to exercise these rights and answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand each of these rights I've explained to you? Just a verbal response, please. Okay. So what do you Okay. And then I want you to put your arms down to your side, okay? And just stay in that position, all right? Do you see this light right here, okay? Can you just tell me what color it is? Blue. Blue? What I'm going to do is I'm going to make several passes in front of your field of view. The only thing I want you to do is follow this blue light right here with your eyes and your eyes only. I do not want you to move your head. Do you understand? I understand. Okay. All right. All right. Yeah. Um what I'm going to do real quick is I'm going to verify the information on your driver's license. Um I know it's I have I know your license in there. I'm just going to re-get your name and stuff like that, okay? I'm hurt. Okay. Can you spell your first name again for me? Yes. I can assure you it's all me and everything. I ain't English. I ain't I ain't slurring almost. Okay. You okay? Here, just lean on the back of the bumper right here, okay? I'm leaning on the back. And what Just give me one of your phone numbers again real quick. >> Phone number 727 395 395 And then I have another one. Nope, uh just just the one's okay for now. Okay. All right. Um and then uh what are you currently doing for work? What kind of trade are you in? Clean houses. Clean houses? Mhm. So you're you're on your feet a lot? A lot. Not today. Is the car registered to you? I can't remember if I asked you. Do you know the year, make, and model of the vehicle? Yeah, an '07 Kia Sportage. Uh auto. First off, make sure you're okay. Okay. Um just some generic medical questions. Are you currently feeling sick or injured at all? Just right here. Just right there. Yeah, it's just a little lump there. Sorry. And um Uh But, yeah, I don't like I'm nowhere. Um I feel nauseous a little bit from when um I got here. Yeah. I feel a little bit dizzy. Yeah. But, I don't know if this is from this or from my nails. Um do you have any physical defects at all? Like you're missing any toes, one leg putting the other, any broken bones, anything like that? >> Well, I fractured this one a little bit. Okay. So, is there anything that like it affects your ability to go to the gym, go to the grocery store, anything like that to prevent you from working? Yes, I can do that. I Well, like any physical defects or anything that hinders you like you have constant back pain or you have like you had surgery that prevents you from walking or something like that. No? Would you be willing to do that with me? I'm going to come to the far end of the line right over here, okay? Right where my light is, I want you to stand right there at the very end of the line, okay? And just face down towards me. Good. All right, just stay right there really quick, all right? What I'm going to do is I'm going to place you in what's called a starting position, okay? Once you're in the starting position, I don't want you to move from it until I tell you to do so. All right, do you understand what I'm asking you to do? I do. All right. Now, wait until I get you here put up real quick, too. Mhm. All right. All right, all set? All right. So, that's starting position. Got it. This is So, that's starting position. What I'm going to have you do is put your left foot on the line. Yep, and then put your right foot in front of the left touching heel to toe just like mine. And then put your arms right down to your side. I can't do this when I'm not Okay. I can't do it. I just want you to try your best, okay? Okay. And then put your arms down to your side. All right, just remain in that position, okay? I don't know if I'm going to get it. I can do this. I'll keep it. Got it. Yep, so left foot on the line, right foot in front of the left so they're touching heel to toe. I can't really I just feel hurt. And then just put your arms right down to your side. I don't know if I'm going to I'm going to fall. I swear this is different. I can't feel my foot. Can you do right left or not? No, it's got to be your left foot first. I'm sorry. And then right foot in front of the left touching heel to toe. All right, just stand over there then. I just want you to watch what I'm about to demonstrate to you, okay? No, just stand right here. I just want you to stand down there, okay? Right here. Right where the my my my light's shining, just stand at the end of the line. Just stand right at the end of the line. There you go. And just face down this way and just just try to put your feet together. And then just I want you to stay with your arms down to your side. We'll just stay like that, okay? So, when I tell you to begin, all right, once you're in that starting position, I'm going to help you get back into it. But then I'm going to tell you to begin, I want you to take nine heel to toe steps down this line. It's going to look something like this, okay? One, two, three, all the way to nine. I did three, but I want you to do nine, all right? Assuming this is your ninth step, I want you to keep your front foot on the line, take your back foot off of it, and then make a series of small steps till you're facing back down the line like this, okay? When you're facing back down the line, I want you to take nine more heel to toe steps, all right? It's going to look like this. One, two, three, all the way to nine again. I did three for demonstration, but I want you to do nine. When you reach your ninth step here, you can step off the line, you completed the exercise, okay? Couple things I want you to keep in mind. Just make sure you're looking down at your feet. Make sure you're counting out loud. Keep your arms down to your sides, all right? Don't use them for balance. Once you start the exercise, I don't want you to stop till you completed it. Do you have any questions about what I just demonstrated? >> What if my second balance when when I'm like completely not tired? I'm going to take everything into consideration, too. If your balance is terrible before, I'll keep everything into consideration, okay? Any other questions for me or anything like that? I So far, um Do you have any tips or tricks? I have no no tips or tricks, all right? Um any other questions? Any tips? So, we're going to get you in that starting position really quick. So, you're ready Your left foot's already on the line. I feel so bad when it's on and I'm not All right, and then put your arms down to your side. Why can't I do it? Why is it so hard, sir? I have no idea. I don't know. And then arms to your side. And then whenever you get your arm down to your side, you can begin, okay? So, put a heel to toe. All right. All right. I can't proceed because you can't do it at home. Right. I'm going to do it at home. I'm going to fall. I'm going to fall. All right. So, right foot in front of the left touching heel to toe. And then arms down to your side. And then you may begin whenever you're ready, okay? Why is it so hard? I swear this is different. After the initial test showed [music] difficulty, she was asked to perform a follow-up assessment. But, the results remained concerning. You want to take a break from this one? Let's take a break. Yeah, let's take a break from that one. I have one more for you really quick, okay? Do you want to put your shoes on or do you want to keep them off? It's completely up to you. Do you want to keep them off? Okay. Just face towards me really quick, all right? I'm going to have you put your feet together like this and then arms down to your side, all right? Just remain in that position till I tell you to, okay? So, when I tell you to begin, you can pick either your left or your right foot up off the ground approximately 6 in. While you're doing that, I want you to keep your foot parallel to the ground and your leg straight like this, okay? Count aloud in the following manner: 1,001, 1,002, 1,003, all the way until I tell you to stop, okay? I want you to look at your raised foot, count aloud, keep your arms down to your side, don't use them for balance, and I don't want you to hop, sway, or anything like that either, okay? Do you have any questions about that? You said don't hop, sway. Yep, do not I don't want you to hop or sway, okay? Any other questions? Let me get my timer out really quick. Can I get together with this? All right. Whenever you're ready, you can begin, okay? So, right leg first? Whichever foot you want. All right. You put your foot down. I have a couple more for you really quick, too, okay? You don't have to walk or anything like that. I'm going to have you just stand there. That's okay. I'm not having you standing on one leg or anything like that either, okay? I'm so scared. So, I'm just going to have you put your feet together like this again. And then just put your arms down to your side, all right? Just remain in that position again until I tell you to, okay? So, when I say begin, what I want you to do is slightly tilt your head back, close your eyes, and then estimate the passage of 30 seconds, okay? I don't get it. So, when I say begin, Okay. Yep, so when I say begin, I want you to slightly tilt your head back, close your eyes, and estimate 30 seconds. Okay. And when you think that you reached 30 seconds, I want you to open your eyes and tilt your head forward and then tell me to stop, okay? Any questions about that? So, you're going to count, too? >> I'm going to use my timer, yes. And then but I want you to just estimate 30 seconds, okay? Yep. Any questions? No. All right. Just give me 1 second. I suck at this thing. I'm I'm going to ace it. I swear I'm I'm going to be determined on it. All right. Go and put your arms down to your side. All right, and begin. Stop. Okay. All right. I kind of closed out of it. So, when I look back at my camera, I can let you know, okay? All right, so this next one I'm going to have you do, all right? I'm just going to have you point your arms out like this towards me and put your feet together again, all right? Point your index fingers out. And then rotate up and put your arms right down to your side, all right? Just remain in that position until I tell you to begin, okay? So, if I say left, I want you to use your left index finger and touch the very tip of your nose like this and bring your right back down to your side without having me to tell you to do so, okay? So, if I say right, bring your right index finger, touch the tip of your nose, and bring it right back down without having me to tell you to do so, okay? Just a couple things. This is the pad of your finger, this is the side, that's the top nail, and this is the tip of the finger that I was talking about that I want you to use, okay? This is your nose. Yep, the very tip right here. So, if this is your nose, right? This is the top of your nose, that's your bridge, this is the side, that's your nostrils, and this is the tip of your nose right here, okay? Very tip of your finger and touch the very tip of your nose just like this, okay? Any questions about that?
