I had to get the belt and I can't you arrest me? >> No, you didn't do nothing till >> No one grows up expecting to be drawn into official processes. But when healthy communication [music] breaks down and accountability is avoided, outside support becomes necessary. >> I am an attorney and I will see you. >> Get on the ground now. Get on the ground. >> Put your feet down like a normal person. and uncomfortable. >> This series isn't about blame. It's about asking a deeper question. What lessons are adults truly passing on to children through their everyday choices. When officers arrived at this home, no one imagined the situation would turn out to be far more complicated than a routine visit. >> If y'all not arresting me, I'm not stepping out of nothing. I ain't even going to lie to you cuz I didn't move this vehicle. I ain't even going to lie to you. On September 7th, 2023, officers were dispatched to a residence to follow up on an individual under community supervision. Tracking data pointed to this location. A woman connected to the matter was contacted, but she said the person was not there and chose not to engage, reflecting how people may react offensively when they feel pressure. >> Do you look here? >> Okay. We're trying to find a Nicholas Bolder and he lives at 802. Is there anyone else in the house right now? >> Mind if we check inside? Cuz the dude has an ankle monitor and they're saying he's pinging at this spot. >> I'm asking you cuz the dude is making basically to this female >> and so a halfway house called us about him. So we're just trying to get the guy. I get you, but I explain it to you, right? Is that it? It came to 802. So that's why we're check. I just happen to see you in your car. So, so just for safety, I just like to make sure he's not in there in case you or anything. And if there's >> anything in there, I don't care. I just want to make sure he's not here. So, we know that the halfway house is safe. That's all. >> Contact. >> I'm sorry. What' you say? >> Okay. So, I rolled up. Burglar was by this Jeep. >> She took off down. Yeah, she took off down this way. >> Okay. >> We got I got back there in a second. He's got to be inside >> my car. >> He's got to be inside still. >> She's saying she lives here. He's planning to let no one else in there. >> Yeah, but >> she's not giving any consent for us to go in. >> We ain't going to be able to get in there. >> Let's say 100% that it went into a flight, you know. >> Yeah. >> Who's a girl? >> Uh owner of the car to catch it. But >> um so how long is this going to take? >> Um give me >> Yeah. Give me one second. She wants to know how long this is going to take cuz she has things to do. So this is hers and she said we can't go in. How do you not >> APA? >> Hey, dear. All right, so I just got here. I'm Officer Constantino. >> So, you got kids in here. You got family, you know, all around. You got a bunch of cops around the house. You don't want to get yourself in any kind of trouble. Let's just get this done so everyone can just leave. You can leave. You know, we'll leave. You can do get on with your business. If you would just allow me and my partner to walk through with you real quick. That's fine. And then when the search warrant gets here, then you're going to end up going to jail for what we find out. Okay? It's called obstructing official um business or obstructing justice. >> How is that? Because I didn't give my name because I want to call a lawyer to see if it's with him. >> Dear, if you don't give your name and if also if he ends up being hiding in your house, person that we believe to be there in >> my car, how how we >> dear, I'm just telling you what's happening and I'm giving you every opportunity and I'm hoping that you can make a a good decision for yourself and for your children and hopefully then, you know, we can get this done. >> That don't even make sense. >> Okay. Hey there. Or you could just roll the dice and just hope. That's why I need Yeah, that's why I need to contact my lawyer because that don't even make checks. Okay. How is me sitting? Y'all specifically see me sitting in my car. >> I just got here. I have no idea. >> But I'm saying the officer that just tried to talk to me. Yeah. Right there. >> Hey dear, that's fine. And when the >> right there, he just said that he seen me sitting in the car. >> When the search warrant get when the search warrant gets here and we do go in the house. >> Hey, that's fine. That's fine. when the search warrant gets here and we do go in your house and then when we arrest him then we'll come back out here and we'll arrest you and then whatever happens you know in regards to everything else >> my kids get picked up right now like that's not a big deal >> you might want to make arrangements cuz that is going to be the next step okay so if you want to be away from your children that's fine >> I'm not going to be away from my children cuz I'm going to get bonded out today anything cuz I'm going to fight this cuz there's no way in the world that y'all going to try to arrest me >> or or we or we can just work this out together right now and you just walk me through show me he's not there and then we're done. There's there's no need for me to do that because I know for a fact I >> the search the search warrant is the other option, dear. >> Okay, so do that. >> Is this your home? >> That's correct. >> Yes, this is >> okay. So then when that door gets damaged by the SWAT team and when we go through there and we find them, then you're going to go to jail and then you also have damaged property. Don't you want to relieve? >> My door has been damaged numerous times because breakins because y'all mother don't do [ __ ] >> Sorry, we're trying. >> I know for a fact I'm not going to jail for no official obstructing of anything because of the simple fact. >> I'm I'm telling you right now you're wrong about that. But I'm letting you know that charge is going to get dropped because I was sitting in my car. >> But you're still going you're still going to go to jail. >> We're just asking for your cooperation in the investigation. >> All right. >> Within a couple of hours. I'm telling you that right now. >> You guys see him going? >> Well, y'all have a good one. >> As attention shifted from the man avoiding [music] contact. It briefly turned to a woman in a vehicle after an irregularity with her driving [music] credentials was discovered. >> What's his warrant for? D some other [ __ ] >> Let's pull her out since she's suspended, too. Start working that. You're uh you're suspended. So, can you step out for me, please? Your vehicle's running. You're suspended. You're right. Step out for me. You're suspended. >> My kids are in this car. >> Step out for me, please. You're suspended. You don't even drive. >> My vehicle is not moving. Like, >> step out for me. >> I'm not. >> You're running a vehicle right now. Step out for me, please. >> No. Stop. >> That's illegal. That That is illegal, >> dear. They're telling you right now. I'm telling you right now, my vehicle, y'all seen me start this vehicle. Bring y'all little body cams back cuz y'all just seen me start this vehicle. >> Dear, why not? Let's alleviate all of this. Just tell Nicholas to come out. Just tell Nicholas to come out. >> Just tell Nicholas come out. Yes, he's in there. He's pinging in there. He has He has a GPS monitor on them. >> Okay. But I seen mother run, so I don't know where the anybody was. >> I was in my car this whole time. >> Freaking back up. They're not doing anything. I don't want to do >> car. Can you close my door? >> I don't want to do >> Can you close my door? The reason I started this car was for these bees. That's to sting my mother kids that's allergic to bees. Can you close my car, please? >> You're suspending. You have a car running right now. Step out. >> Oh my god. I am not doing that. If y'all not arresting me, I'm not stepping out of nothing. I ain't even going to lie to you cuz I didn't move this vehicle. I ain't even going to lie to you. >> I got really bad news for you. All right. You ready for this? >> Oh my god. There is bees and my kids are allergic. >> Okay, I got an EpiPen with me, so we're good. So, here's the bad news. I have a GPS monitor that's inside that place that tells me that >> you turn the car off also. You're not allowed to drive it. >> Okay. >> He's also got a bond for that says we can go in that house any time of day. So, here's what I'm going to tell you. We're going through Oh, yeah. I've got a bond for regards to >> my house. >> We're getting that as well, but now we don't have to. But with that being said, as soon as I go in there, soon as I go in there, there cuz the GPS is in there. >> I don't know who this person is. >> I'm going to be arresting you when we're done. I'm asking you to give me the keys and give us consent or we're going to be knocking the door open, then you're going to get more charges. Can y'all close my door, please? Thank you. >> Where's your keys at, though? Give me your keys. >> No, you can have a car key. >> I want the car key. >> Okay, I'm going give it to you. >> Thank you. >> Wait, why do you need my car key? >> Cuz I don't want you driving off. Bye. >> All right, fine. Or or we'll just pull you up and tow it. We don't want to do that. So just hand the key hand the car key over. Why do you want to be like this? You're going to make it worse for yourself. Your children are in the back of this car. >> You a fool. >> I can tell. I can tell. And it's totally apparent. >> I cuss around my kids. I don't know about y'all, but I do. >> This is private mother property. I don't know what the y'all talking about. I don't know. >> You're not allowed to drive on private property either. >> Bookie. This is my property. I ain't drive in this. I ain't even going to lie to you. Y'all ain't move. Y'all ain't seen me move [ __ ] >> Stay here. She does not drive. >> Y'all ain't going to grab no keys. Okay. Well, y'all can close my door, though. >> No, the door's not shutting. >> All right, >> dude. Let me go get my sled. >> Even though the monitoring equipment was no longer active, the location was verified [music] and procedures were followed. This shows that the system is designed not only to respond to [music] rulebreaking, but also to support public safety. >> Coming police department, tell me if you're in here. Answer me or I'm forcing the door in. Hands up. Hands up now. >> Hands up. >> Get on the ground right now. >> Get on the ground now. >> There ain't no need for that. >> Shut up. >> Hey Britney. >> I got you. I got you. >> Damn good. >> Got him. >> There ain't no need for that. I was standing. >> Don't run. You won't get this. >> I ain't run. I was in the house laying down. My >> [ __ ] >> I was >> [ __ ] >> Waiting for y'all. >> I was waiting for you. >> Tuck your knees to your chest. >> Tuck your knees to your chest. >> The mother overwhelmed with emotion, held her child tightly, unintentionally [music] increasing stress. The child was later cared for separately to ensure well-being. A considerate step that placed the child's needs first. >> Sit right here. We're going to have to get that. >> So, what y'all lost from breastfeeding the mothers? Cuz I rested my daughter. >> Hey, baby. Don't worry about the baby. I'll be home. >> Oh my god. >> I don't want to pull the baby away from you. Okay. So, put the baby in the back. >> Don't make this more difficult. You've already gotten us to this point. >> You want us to rip you off from your kids? Is that what you want? >> I would never do that. I'm a mom. I got six kids. Why would you let it get this far? >> All right, we're done playing with you. Come on, baby. You're going to go to the back seat. It's all right for me. >> Can you please not make this difficult for your child? You're going to make us take your child away from you. >> You want to take her child? >> All right. Don't fight. Don't fight. Don't fight. >> Don't fight. [screaming] >> MY DAUGHTER, YOU DUMB ASS. GET MY DAUGHTER. ON THE OTHER side >> going with you. >> Yeah. >> Right now, >> we will move your feet apart for me a little bit more for me, please. I have a back problem. My feet is apart. >> Yeah, I check it's going to be uncomfortable. >> And I said my feet is apart. >> You got anything else on you? Anything that's going to poke me or >> look like I got anything on me? I'm not wearing pants and I'm on my period. I just want to let you know that. >> Okay, thank you. Are you wearing a bra hunt? >> Nope. >> Okay. Actually, I'm going to have you search her real quick. >> My phone. >> We'll get it to you. We can't have you have it, but we'll make sure it gets to the county. >> Not yet. No, I don't know if they have it, but we can get it. >> And can I can y'all get my keys off the top of that car >> and put it in my personal property, too? >> We have to get her phone. >> No, it's attached to my AirPods and he put it on the top of my car when he got my car. >> I'll grab that. >> You still need ID? So, can I not have my phone? >> You know why? >> I told you this was going to happen. This is not what we wanted. This is ridiculous that it even had to go this way. You had every opportunity to not have this happen. >> Is this your stuff right here? >> Okay. >> Who are we calling for your children? Let's just step back from this whole thing. Let's get >> I can't tell you because I don't have >> I'll get it for you. Who Who are you going to call? You have somebody. Okay. >> How far? I know. I I told you to go ahead and get that going, but you didn't. >> You got her phone just >> Okay. Make a good phone call, though. We're not going to be answering text messages for everybody else. You're going to call whoever it is, and that's it. If not, I got to go call children services. She's calling now. >> Hello. >> Hello. >> Um, can you come and get my kids, please? >> What? >> Can you come? Can you please hurry up and come and get my kids? I'm going to jail. >> Why? >> I'm going to jail. Can you please come and get my kids? >> Okay. From >> I'll explain everything when I get out later. >> From where? >> From my house. >> And who's going to be with them? >> The police department. Come get the children or we got to call children services. How long until you're going to get here? >> Um, well, I'm going to have to It's going to be like 40 minutes. Is that okay? >> No, it's too long. >> Okay. Well, then I'll talk. >> Can you please hold on? Hold on. Let me what's today? >> Let me call my grandpa and see if he can come around the corner and fix them up until I get them. >> You need to call somebody else in the meantime too to get that started. You might want to do that. Hey dear, we're not sitting here doing text messages. Make the phone call and be done. I don't want to take the phone from you. >> Okay. >> Well, I'm trying to get You just told I'm going to jail. So, is there a possibility that you could come and get um come and get the kids? >> Yeah. Where you at? >> I'm at my house. I'm in the cop car. I'm getting arrested. >> You're not going to have a bomb. You have no bomb. It's a felony. >> What's a felony? >> Obstructing justice like I told you. >> How is that a felony? >> It's felony. >> So, just so you know, you have no time. We told you this was going to happen. >> Are y'all able to wait 5 minutes so she can? >> Yes. 5 minutes. >> One encouraging outcome was that the child [music] was placed with relatives providing a more stable and supportive environment. >> They have two different people coming. Should be here shortly. Do you have any questions for me? We did everything we said was going to happen. You should have just listened to us from the start. Maybe next time you will. Does she have her wallet and stuff? I need her food stamp card. >> Hold on one second. Hold on. Let's get this done first and then we'll get you whatever you need. Okay. So, she obstructed justice by trying to interfere with a law enforcement investigation during a foot pursuit. >> Uh someone who had a warrant ran into the house. She obstructed officers. We had a force entry and go in. Uh she told him today somebody ran into her house today. >> Yeah. But she allowed him in there. She knew he was in there. you know, wouldn't tell us what was going on because she lied >> stop us from doing our job. >> Yep. >> So, we had to force entry and go get him and that's what she got charged with. She also had >> she even used the children to try to stop us from arresting her. >> As for the individual at the center of the situation, once inside the official vehicle, [music] he repeatedly stated that he felt unfairly treated despite having cooperated. >> Don't take my money and [ __ ] Turn your body cam on. Turn your BODY CAM ON. RECORD THAT [ __ ] HEY, who was that who slammed me to the ground? He weak as hell. I wasn't talking to y'all. I was talking to that a black dude. Black pinching me like a little. You cool though. You always been cool. Hey, my ankle mounted upstairs. Go tell your boys. Tell them real quick. Tell them my ankle monitor upstairs on the floor. >> Already got it. >> Oh, y'all did. My big mama that. She seen me with this do that. Y'all were trying to take her to jail. I was on the phone with her the whole time. Right. Y'all ain't stupid. Y'all had that search warrant. Let me see it. >> Man, I'm good on me. >> N I want to see it. You got to present a search warrant to kick in the door. I'm not stupid. I know my laws. >> You talking to the house? Huh? >> You know. >> No, y'all didn't. She told me. She said they just kicking my door. They didn't tell me. If y'all would have told me heard you're going to kick her door in, I'd have got came out. That'sed up. Why would y'all take her to jail? Why y'all take her to jail? Hold on. Why y'all take her to jail, gangster? >> Because she was instructing official business. >> How? >> Cuz you were inside. We knew you were inside. >> How you knew that? >> I watched you, man. >> You ain't watch me. I thought I sllicked it. Hold on. How y'all get my Reggie? >> What's up? >> How y'all get my boy Reggie? He >> was fast, but I'm a bit faster. >> Oh, he Who caught him? What's up? >> Who you catch him? >> Huh? Who you catch? I can't remember. Was it hard? >> What's up? >> Did he almost get away? >> Nah, too close on him this time. >> No lie. I ain't going to lie. Dude can't me on the streets. None of them. None of them can. >> I bet you can't run you. That dude's running. That one's fast. >> The black guy. >> Yeah, Reggie. >> Huh? >> Reggie. >> Oh, yeah. Reggie good. >> He's fast. >> No, I'm talking about y'all cops. Y'all can't me. Y'all just like he tried slamming the floor like what I tell you, bro. I put my hands behind my back. Leave me alone. Ain't that what I told you? Was you back there when I put my hands behind my back? >> No, man. >> I put my hands straight behind my back. I said just take me to jail, dude. Just slam me. Huh? >> I was in the front. >> Oh, you were the one who kicked the door. >> I was with them. >> Bro, you should have just told her. If you would have told her, I'd have came out. Y'all know that's y'all kicked her door and took her kid. Y'all ain't give her that warning. >> Oh, we we gave her play. >> No, I heard y'all on the phone. Y'all ain't tell her that. Y'all was just trying to take her car and [ __ ] I'm like, y'all can't do that. That's stupid. That's some ass [ __ ] Boy, I got a gangster though. Trying to say I ain't a gangster. I'm more cut than any in this straight gangster. And I want all my money too. Count it out. >> Progy. >> What I had? What made y'all come and get me? My baby mom called. >> No, apparently you kept calling Genesis house. Something like that. >> That's a lie. >> All right. >> Who said that? >> Genesis house. >> Why they didn't lie for my baby mom? >> Are you living right now at uh for her? >> No, I live at too with my baby girl. >> Living too. >> With my baby psych. No. I stay wherever I want. Don't put no address. >> I got something, man. Is that your baby mom? >> Who? >> At 802. >> I'm her. That's how good my is. You see how good it is? >> Yeah. >> That's pretty good, ain't it? >> Well, see that's why the other guy was pinching you. >> Why? Cuz >> you said it. Oh, cuz my >> Yeah, >> probably. >> The man was charged with vandalism, resisting arrest, [music] and obstructing official business. While the woman also faced charges of obstruction of justice, receiving stolen property, childment, and resisting arrest. Under Ohio law, he could face 3 to 6 years and she up to 2 years. Children don't just hear what adults say. They absorb how adults respond. When challenges are met with calm [music] and respect, they learn communication instead of conflict. That is the most meaningful lesson this [music] story leaves behind. You are about to follow a story where intense emotions, personal struggles, and unresolved tension collided in a shared space. One filled with children, families, and bystanders who had nothing to do with the conflict. Yep. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Come on. >> On August 12th, 2025, Florida officers were contacted by a resort about a woman who appeared highly agitated and disruptive near the pool area. Witnesses said she behaved inappropriately, caused minor property damage, and acted disrespectfully toward a 13-year-old boy simply because he did not want to join her activity. It was a moment that highlights the importance of protecting children from unsafe adult behavior. >> Basically, What happened outside? You know, she's buying everybody some film. [screaming] So, I'm like, "Come on, let's go to the room." Every time I walk out, you know, come inside, she's following somebody else. She spit on the three people over there. She broke the table. She's fighting with this guy. >> What did she Let's go see the table she broke. [screaming] >> She did her out so hard. Oh, so how did that happen? >> Who saw it? >> Everybody here. That's a trick right there. >> She didn't want to hear what the little boy sitting next to me. She wanted him to sing. He's a young kid. And he said no. She spit her drink on us. I'm like, that's not that's not good. You know, >> I don't know. Something she had problem, you know. I'm sorry. >> Yeah. Slammed her cup down. >> Yeah. She took she was mad. Slammed [clears throat] her cup down. >> All right. >> Disorderly intox. >> Yeah, disorderly intox and vandalism. So >> what' she do to him? >> All right. Alcohol on it. >> You want me to just explain what happened? Okay. Oh, I came out here to stay with my good friends with him. I fish with him and stuff. Oh, she kept coming around me talking to me. She kept trying to get me to come and dance with her. >> Okay. >> And I kept telling her, "No, no, no. Leave me alone." She kept declining my nose and kept going back to me, told me to dance. She She went up here to the karaoke machine, came back, took a sip of alcohol and spit it on me. She's like, >> she spit it on you? >> Yes. >> How old is he? >> Can you fill out a statement on his behalf? >> Here's a pen. >> Yeah. >> I gave her a pen. She's going to fill out on his behalf. He's 13 years old. So, um, I think that's it. I'm going to go I'm going to go do the trespass warning real quick. >> OKAY. >> OH, NO. WHICH ONE? >> Walking in the water. >> She's swimming in the water. >> Wait, is she in the water? >> She threw her on the ground. >> No, I did not want to press Jordan. I wanted to smash that [ __ ] but I didn't. on you. >> Grabbed a hold of me. >> Southern girl County. >> Is that her? >> Thank [laughter] you. >> Let me get your swimming in the >> Okay, that's fine. >> Your name and >> my name is >> Thanks, sir. >> I'm the one [ __ ] Okay. >> He doesn't want to pursue for the battery. >> Oh, see somebody. I didn't even worry [laughter] about >> his hair. >> Oh, this guy. >> No, the guy right there. Yeah, but he said that the hotel wants to pursue charges. So, what? >> All right. Where's the nearest uh exit to the beach? >> Oh, right there. Perfect. >> After gathering details, officers approached the woman who claimed to be familiar with the law. The interaction was challenging as she avoided engagement, showing how communication can break down when emotions take over. >> Come here. >> No, you come here. >> Did you hear me? >> Yeah. >> So, some old ladies know her up there and they're like and I was like, "Do you know her?" She like, "Yeah, but she's up on the second floor. It's like on the top of her." I'll wait till the guys with uh shorts and flip-flops get here to help us out and go out and get her. She wants to come to us. >> Let her get up to us. >> I really don't want to go chasing the water. >> Hello. >> How are you? >> How are you? >> What is your name? >> Delila. >> Delila. Do you know Miss Delila or you just >> This is Laura. >> Laura, how do you know? >> She is my friend. We met here. >> We're from Georgia. >> We met here. >> Oh my god. Are you >> stay She's staying here. Okay. Mister, >> she's had some tragedy in her life. >> Yeah. So, Mr. And then that flaming guy up there. >> Were you in the hospital? >> Yeah. She look >> figure out what we got. Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Move your hand. >> Not you. You try to block me. >> I didn't try to block you >> right now. You're detained. >> Try to video, ma'am. >> Hey, wait. >> I didn't try to block you. I serious. Yeah, apparently you went on a little escapade up there and destroyed some property, spit in some famil family's faces. We're going to take care of the problem today. Okay. >> We're just going to get you out of here. You're done with this. Your behavior is odd at best. >> All right, we're going to walk back up there. >> You're going to have to carry me. >> Yes, you are. >> I need my right. >> Are you really seriously? >> Oh my god. I'm an attorney and I will conqu my >> Oh, you're kidding me. >> Okay, so you're going to let that flamingshole. Oh my god. You're kidding. No, no, no, no, no, no. I'm I'm going to go with you. >> Seriously, I'm going with you. >> You said you're an attorney. My name is Officer Garcia. So, I'm going to get everybody. >> You should probably behave like an adult before you before you lose your uh your license to practice. Act like a fool on camera. >> Turning my license in. Actually, >> are you kidding me? >> Going up the ramp. >> Yeah. Uh the ramp or the Let's just go upstairs. >> Are you guys going to come? >> Look. Do not >> up the stairs. No. No. No. Look. Hey, stop. Just stop for a second because look, look at me. Up the stairs. Laura, look at me. Because Go up the stairs. Go up the stairs. >> Look at me. I see you. Not going up the stairs. >> No. No. No. No. Because I'm not going to play this game. Behave like an adult. >> No. Because you know why? No. >> No. I don't like this. >> Get up. [sighs] >> Search you real quick. >> Search me. What do I got? Nipples. >> Nipples. That's all I got. >> What is that? It's a clamp and a nipple. >> Oh, that's her. >> What? >> Oh, it looked like she had a rag or something. >> Are you kidding me? >> Oh my gosh. >> All right, take a seat, please. >> No. >> Wonderful. Delta Juliet. >> Put your feet down like a normal person. >> Uncuff me and I'll put my feet down. >> Can't do that. >> Oh, uncuff me. That's my clip. Yep. I have I have a new knee AND [screaming] STOP. >> I have a new KNEE AND A NEW BEHAVE AND put your feet down. >> ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SIT UP LIKE A ADULT. You're not going to tell us? >> I'll tell you anything you want. >> Okay. Do you have a middle initial? >> Yeah. >> Is your ID out of Florida or Georgia? >> No. >> What state is it from? >> Okay. Even though she came from a family with public service experience, she still encountered the reality that status does not replace basic standards of behavior in shared spaces. >> All right. >> My dad, >> huh? >> I'm talking to my dad. He's in Colorado. >> How are you talking to your dad? Because I can talk to anybody I want to >> telepathically or like >> Yeah. >> You don't have a phone? >> I mean, are you gonna give me a headrest? Because I mean like I was a criminal or something. >> All the way until we get to the jail. >> So my dad Hey, call my dad. >> I am under no obligation to do that. >> Okay, just go. >> Aren't you an attorney? I'm sorry. Laura, the hotel requested that you be trespassed from the property. So, we gave you a trespass warning. This is your notice. They no longer want you on their property. I understand you probably still have clothing and other personal effects in your room. You're going to have to call for an escort. We'll stand by with you while you gather your belongings. >> All right. All right. >> I'll get your shoe for you. Don't worry about it. >> Oh my god. You made a mess back here, Laura. >> I made that mess. >> This is a brand new car. I just got it a couple days ago. You know what? It was going to get messy anyway. Where's my other shoe? >> Uh, I think we left it down on the beach. >> Oh. >> Oh, your other shoe's in here. We have your other shoe. >> Your other shoe in your hat. [cough] >> He's been He's been an officer for 30 something years. >> That's your dad? >> He's detective >> and I'm a VA accredited attorney and I'm trying to help people that have been veterans. All right. >> The woman face charges of resisting an officer without violence [music] and disorderly conduct. Under Florida law, she could face up to one year in prison and a $1,000 fine. Shared spaces become safer and more considerate when self-control, respect for others boundaries, and cooperation with community rules are treated as top priorities. There are moments in life when the line between guidance and mistreatment becomes uncomfortably thin. >> Talk to me. Do you need an ambulance? Are you hurt? >> On May 12th, 2025, officers were called to an incident involving children. At the center were an 11-year-old girl and her brother whose response went beyond acceptable limits because she would not go to school, showing how academic pressure can be misunderstood as [music] justification for harsh correction. >> This is my little sister. I want to take her to school. like she wasn't trying to go to school today and I took her anyway and they she wasn't properly dressed so I brought her back home to get her dressed. >> Okay. >> And she wasn't trying to get dressed and so she was trying to run away so >> I had to get the belt and I her real quick bro >> I know it's >> Yeah. You know I got to do real quick just an investigation just real quick. Uh just put your hand behind your back real quick. You're not under arrest. I turned around and he got out of the car, started her dropped down, >> but he was actually her and then he got her to stop right there. The only thing for me, I went with him and I told him I don't call and he got her by the arm and started dragging her back to the car. She was screaming. >> Okay, >> let me just figure out what's going on stuff real quick. We just got a call from our office and stuff. >> I know this girl stopped. She's like, I'm calling the cops. Who's the one that called? >> This girl here right in front of me. >> When approached, the girl was barely able to speak. A routine check found multiple concerning marks on her arms and thighs, reflecting how long she had been struggling in silence. >> If you are only 11 years old, you need to talk to me. Did you hear me? Are you Are you Do you need an ambulance to come check me out? Talk to me. Talk to me. Look at me. Talk to me. Do you need an ambulance? Are you hurt? Huh? water. You need to talk to us. Do you need an ambulance? I don't know why he smacked her. He said he smacked her. >> Your arm with the belt, >> but she was freezing. I just stopped her. >> Over here. Where? >> Which house? >> Where is your mom and dad? No. Are they over there? >> No. >> Have you had anything to drink this morning? You have? What did you drink? >> Huh? >> And what else? Have you had any liquor? No. >> Are you hurting somewhere? If he just took you from school, we need to find out why he took you from school. >> She said she was going to get you because look, you're not even properly dressed. You are freezing. >> 41 back. Ma'am, can I try to talk to her for a minute? >> Yeah, I I got a good one cuz I got a I have an appointment. >> What? Just quick statement. What did you see? I don't know if she's I don't know. You might want to ask the brother what happened. >> Yeah, we are. My name is James. Okay. Are you okay? What happened to your arms? It's okay. We're not here to get you in trouble. Okay. We're just trying to help you and figure out what's going on. You don't want to go to school. Is that what it is? >> Or is this your brother? It's not your brother. >> My cousin. >> Your cousin. Okay. And what's his name? I didn't talk to him. >> Jordan. >> Jordan. And you live with your cousin or with your parents or who? I'm just trying to help you out so we can get you a place to go home. Okay. Is there somewhere you can go? >> I just want to call my dad. >> You want to call your dad? Do you have a phone? No. You have a phone number for your dad so we can try to give him a call? No. Where is he at? >> Santa Fe. >> He's in Santa Fe. Is that where he lives or he's just over there? He's over there. You don't know his phone number. Who else can we call? >> My grandma. >> Your grandma. Like I said, we're just trying to help you out, okay? We're not trying to get you in trouble. You're not in trouble. Nothing like that. We're just trying to figure out what's going on. Are you okay? Do you need anything? No. >> Anything you leg? Did you get belt on your leg? Yeah. Then on your arm, it looks like >> Can we put it back there real quick so I can hear you? Let's come to the ambulance right here. Okay. Let's take a walk. Okay. He hits you with the belt on your leg. I'm just trying to get him find stuff for this. So, I'm just trying to >> her parents here. >> I don't know. I'm trying to get your arms. >> What is he? >> My cousin. >> Your cousin. Can you take off the jacket real quick? Cuz I want to see your arms. >> You just need to see where they put >> So, so what happened? >> I see right there. >> Hold on. Okay. We'll put that jacket back on you. I just got a photograph. Okay. Wait, let me her thighs, the back of her thighs. And on her left and right side. >> So you said >> they're welts. >> The welts. >> Okay. What is it? Like >> welt is like it could be from a belt or >> it could be from a belt. >> Yeah. These ones will turn into bruises. >> See how that's a scrape and this will turn into a bruise >> because it's more of like a where they grabbed on to it. >> Okay. >> And they used to use the >> Her brother admitted to acting inappropriately toward his sister yet believed it was discipline. This highlights aous misunderstanding [music] confusing guidance with mistreatment. >> Try to get a hold of a parent or guardian or somebody we can have. I need somebody so we can do treatment with this and then we'll go to next. Give me a few minutes. I'm going to interview him back here real quick and see. >> Okay. All right. Real quick, Jordan. So, obviously I'm Deputy Co. I want to kind of share this stuff. You know who I am and stuff. Okay. Real quick, what I do before I interview anybody I uh read them. Okay. So, just listen to me. If you have any questions, let me know. Have these rights in mind? Do you wish to talk to me on what happened? >> She was. >> It's a Hold on real quick. Yes or no? >> Yeah. >> Yeah, you do. Okay. just got a um so what happened? >> She was trying to I was trying to take her to school. I took her and my brother to school. She didn't want to go to school. >> Dropped her bag off in her jacket over there at the school trying to take her. I'm still supposed to. >> And who's she and her? That's your little sister. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Taking her to school. I had to come bring her back to get dressed cuz she wasn't properly dressed cuz she didn't want to come to school. And as I was taking her back, she was getting ready. She didn't want to get ready. So, she was trying to run away after I sucked her a little bit to get I her on her butt to get get ready. >> What did you suck her with? >> The belt. I smacked her with a different belt than this one. This one's I just used this one to scare her, but I her with the belt and then she ran. She wanted me to call my dad to >> Who's your dad? >> Shane legal parent or guardian? >> Yeah, he's actually the legal parent is my other brother. He's lives in Vegas. She's a juvenile actually. So, she stays with my dad, but she's he's full custody. >> And who's he? >> My brother Shane >> Junior. How old is he? >> 22. He's 22. >> I think 21 22. Okay. >> All right. So, um, you said you hit here with a belt. How many times? >> I like five, six times on her butt and then she started running away after she >> five, six times on the butt. Okay. >> And then she said she ran away. >> Mhm. >> Okay. Where did she run away from? >> My house over here. >> The house down here. Okay. >> Cuz she didn't want to go to school. >> So she she hit her cuz she didn't want to go to school. >> She didn't want to get ready and she didn't want to go to school. And she ran away cuz she don't want to cuz I didn't want to call my dad. >> Okay. >> And she's ran away from my mom before too at night actually. >> And how many times did you here? >> No. Except somebody seen that you did that. They witnessed stuff. >> I didn't out here. I just pulled I pulled her arm. She she has probably I pulled her arm and I was coming like grabbing her cuz why she she shouldn't be running away from us. Like we're trying to help her. >> I did see something in the arm. It looks like a weld and stuff. >> No, I grabbed her pretty hard cuz she shouldn't be running away from us. The one trying to help her like >> How old is she? >> Well, by you think >> about 12. >> And then what else happened? >> Just that girl called the cop. She stopped me and she's like, "Are you?" I was like, "Well, she's trying to run away from me." like she's trying to run away from me the school like she she needs to go to school like so that's all that happened today. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So here's what's going to happen. So uh obviously today's incidents okay it's going to lead to an arrest. Okay. Straight up. That's >> so I don't want to impound the vehicle and all stuff. I'm trying to work with you as best as I can. >> There's my grandma there. I don't know if she can drive standing. >> His behavior suggested he had grown up without healthy role models. A reality that became clearer when other family members arrived. You give permission to take the key to hosta. Do you want to leave anything with you? Hold on. Okay. >> Okay. I'm with Hold on. Come here. Come here. >> Where's my [laughter] daughter? >> Come here. Hold on. Walk me back here. Deputy Kokam County Sheriff's Office. You know who I am? Okay. Who What are you to >> This is my son. My son is my daughter. >> So, your daughter >> Janessa. >> Janessa. Okay. Incident occurred. So, you're the legal Are you the legal parent? >> No. No. My my son is she's actually my brother's daughter, but we have Cassie over. I've had Cassie and stuff. I've had her since she was 4 months old, but >> So, but you're not physical. >> I'm not that physical. >> Okay. So, he's on his way up here, right? >> I don't know. >> Okay. So, Shane Junior's on his way up here. >> I hope so. Okay. >> Okay. >> What What's going on? What's going on? >> Okay. Take a deep breath. >> I can't just take a deep breath. Okay. >> So, an incident occurred out here with your son. How old is your son? >> 19. >> 19. Okay. So he's 19. Okay. >> 20. >> 20. >> Okay. My understand is they live over here. >> Yes. >> Do you live over here with him? >> No. No. Me and their dad are divorced. >> Okay. >> Did he with their dad? >> Okay. An incident occurred between him and and Janessa. Okay. Uh she's she's in the back of the ambulance. I'm waiting for the parent or guardian. I need to get treatment for her. Okay. >> I can't disclose too much for you because you're not the legal parent or guardian. You know what I mean? I'm waiting for the uh parent to come up. Can you get a hold to see where he's at? Where Junior's at for me? >> Careful. Watch it. >> So, this is your mom. Okay. Do you want me to tell her what's going on? >> Let her know. Okay. I just cuz that's your you're you're a grown man now. You're obviously over team, but >> that's uh if that's okay, I'll let her know. I'll have Michael move that out of the way for you so we can get that out of here and stuff and then we'll go from there. I'll explain everything else in a bit. I just got to wait to get your sister some treatment and stuff cuz she does have some wel and stuff. Okay. Obviously from the belt and all that stuff. >> Nothing. Come here, man. Go back there. I'll let you I'll let you know what's tonight. >> Are you sure? Okay. >> So, I talked to your son. He said it's okay to let you know what's happened. Okay. So, he uh uh a few times with the belt. >> Good. >> So, >> okay. She's probably doing her stupid again. >> So, >> okay. >> So, he's uh he's going to land with us and we're going to get uh get her some checked out and stuff. Okay. But I need Junior. Can you see where the Shane Junior's at? >> I'm trying to get him to call. >> Let me know where he's at so we can get him cuz I need to get her checked out and stuff. Okay. She has some who we need to get checked out. Okay. >> Okay. I'll I'll get a hold of him. There he is right here. >> Okay. >> So, >> so granted he doesn't want to press charges or whatever, but I'm sure Mike will show you the pictures. I mean, they're not just it's not just this is >> and for him to chase her from down there to down here. >> That's what I was actually explaining to me. That's what we're actually in the process now. Cuz again, there's a there's a difference between discipline, right? >> Exactly. >> Discipline, too. You know, >> right? >> Dad's going to send you money for your bell if anything. They said you have to wait till tomorrow. You might have to say the night. >> I get the stuff out of your pocket. >> They said you're not going to have bell till tomorrow, but I'm going to have dad send me money right away. >> Yeah. >> Cool. The brother faced a charge of child which in most US states can carry a sentence of 1 to 10 years in prison. This story [music] is not meant to condemn but to remind us that children do not need pain to grow. They need to be heard, supported, and guided with patience. Police do not always arrive because of serious crimes. Sometimes they come to prevent a family from slipping deeper into emotional distress. >> So, can you arrest me? >> No, you ain't doing nothing wrong. >> Please. On April 30th, 2024, Georgia police received a call about a family conflict that had escalated involving impaired behavior in the presence of children. Officers arrived promptly and spoke with each adult involved, starting with the father. >> What's going on, guys? >> Go ahead, talk. You can talk. Go ahead, >> sir. You want to come out here and talk to me real quick? >> I just got home from work not too long ago. Baby girl, I found out she put a PlayStation My PlayStation controllers in the freezer. She called me alcoholic said I drank too much. But I mean, it's like I haven't had a drink in like 3 weeks. After that, I said, "Okay, I might need a drink tonight." I went to the gas station, got a drink, came back in the house. She been fighting me tooth, trying to reach the can, some sort of Bahama breeze or what whatnot. She been trying to reach in my hand. She pretty much gave me ultimate. She like, "Choose the can or your family." At the same time, she just pushed me like this. She did it too many times. I didn't lay hands on her, but I did grab her wrist like that. Oh, excuse me. I'm sorry. Well, I did grab her wrist like that. I said, "Please stop." At this point, she jacked me up like this. >> She called my aunt and pretty much just gave her this crazy story saying that I trashed the house because I couldn't find X, which is my PlayStation 5 controller, but the house has been trashed for weeks. I mean, we have kids actually. You can take a look in there. But, um, yeah, it's just wild toys everywhere. She said, "I trashed the whole house. She called my aunt. I laid hands on her. I've been pushing her around. You won't be able to find. You might find a ash mark right here cuz I did grab her and prep her to stop. I literally had two, three sips of this can. It was full, but as she was lying to my aunt, I pretty much squeezed the can and went straight to her face. Now, I did get on my 5 month baby as well when she was holding the baby. But this whole time she was holding the baby. She was just trying to get little things on me. I did call her name. I called her and apparently I called her every name under the sun. >> How are y'all related? >> She's my wife. >> Sheriff's office. >> Hi, sir. >> Hi. You mind if I talk to you later? >> How about we go downstairs? >> What's your first name? E. >> So, you got home and she had put your PlayStation controllers in the freezer. >> My baby girl did. >> Your wife or? >> Oh, no. I got three kids. >> You got three kids? >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> Where the other kids at? >> Oh, they're sleep. >> Yeah. My 2-year-old did it. I admit I was upset. >> How you from? >> But little kid put control in the freezer in the world right now. >> Yeah. I just got home. So, I want to eat sit down before I go to sleep. Little kid put my place in the freezer. I went going crazy about the people tonight. I just said, "Okay, I need about to walk out the house." She told me, "If you leave, don't come back." Drove my car to the store around the corner. Got me a drink. Opened it when I Well, I didn't get a chance to open it too much until when I got here. She pretty much was like, she got up and she tried to take the can from me. And I mean, this is a whole lot of pushing, shoving, me hiding the can behind my back. >> Just one can you brought? >> Yeah, just one can. >> What was it? >> I want to say it was clips. She was practically trying to get the can from me. I'm hiding it. I would like know that she was a cat. >> That's cuz she thinks you're an alcoholic. >> Yeah. Yep. But um I told her I haven't had anything to drink in like 3 and 1/2 weeks. >> Okay. >> And you know, she even hid my bottle of liquor. My Royal Green Apple. I don't know where it is, but I didn't try to find her. >> So, who's pushing her at this point? >> Really, the whole thing started cuz she was pushing me. And it got to the point where it got very >> What was she pushing for? >> She was trying to prevent me from going out the house because she was like, "You have to choose between the drink or your family." I said, "This isn't the first time you gave me ultimate whereas I have to choose between you or something else." So, I said, "You know what? I'm going to take to something else this time. Please just leave me." As I tried to walk around her, she's been pushing the whole time with the baby in hand. I'm like, "Can you please put my baby down? Please stop." She just pushing me, pushing me. I got pushed into the wall multiple times. I tripped up with toys multiple times. Didn't get too bad into it. She kept doing this and I said, "Stop." At this point, she grabbed me, tried to me, and she grabbed me by the collar. And that's when [clears throat] I grabbed her wrist and I said, "Stop. Leave me the alone." At that point, she wanted to call my aunt. She was just lying to my aunt, saying or making it seem as if I'm just drinking too much and just aggressively around everywhere and laying hands on her. You will not find a mark on her. You will find maybe like a little mark right here for when I grab it. Yes, you will not find a mark that I did. She lied and said, "I trashed the house and I do everything down and start throwing everything around. The house has been messed up for weeks actually." At that point, I said, "You're lying. Why are you lying like this? Are you kidding me?" I said, "I will pour this drink in your face." She said, "Oh, you ain't going to do the end." I just squeezed the can and it went on her and I grabbed my 5 month 5month old baby. And at this point, she's like, "You see what you're doing? It's all because of alcohol." But in reality, I was only doing this mess because how she approached the situation, but she never want to talk about that unless she's on the phone with any of my family members. >> She grabbed you by the neck, but she wasn't really squeezing. You didn't have trouble breathing or anything? >> No, she was squeezing me, but I I didn't, you know, you worked up, you know, you know. >> Okay. Are you coughing afterwards at all? Do you feel lightheaded at all? Your vision go blurry at all? >> Like many conflicts, each person carried their own pain and perspective, but the lack of listening only widened the divide, something the children had to witness. >> Okay. What happened? >> What happened? So, he came home tonight. I think about 10:00. I was baiting him when he came in. After I took a shower, he said was looking for his PlayStation controller. And I was like, "You just look around the house. We have a 2-year-old in the house." He started um throwing the cushions on the chair, the chair pillows and everything all over. And I was like, you know, we just picked up around because she just went to bed. You don't have to mess up where we just cleaned up. And he goes, "No, I'm looking for started getting in that manner." And I was like, "Okay, just look around." Once I finished feeding him, I would come help you look for it. It's not something that without it you can leave, >> right? >> And then he goes picks up a bottle of alcohol a friend gave to me to try. And I'm like, I already seized your previous bottles. You drank a little too much. I'm no longer comfortable with you finishing a bottle of alcohol or, you know, half a bottle within a day or two. It's outrageous. I understand you're drinking in the house, but consider if not for anything, consider your health. And he said, "I need the drink tonight." And I was like, "You could take a soda. You could take a drink. You could do something else apart from hot cocoa tonight just because you're upset about her putting your controllers in the fridge." And he stepped out and went to the gas station and came back with a can of drink and I said, "You don't have to drink tonight. You don't need it. if you're pissed, you know, take water, take a drink. And he said, I have to drink tonight. I was like, you don't really need to drink just because of that. And he said, I'm going out to drink in the car. That's wrong. You don't have to drink in the car. And I said, if you step out, means that you're picking alcohol over your family. He was trying to push me out of the way. I stood in the line. I was like, okay, you don't have to leave the house. And then he started grabbing my hand. And then I had to call the auntie on phone. At least let me call somebody who can actually speak to him. Maybe I'm not here. And he said if he was going to hit me, it would hit my hand. He has sprained my hand. If you look at my hand, you can see I turned my hand upside down. Push me towards the world sever. I'm that so you obviously would not see if I was the color. You probably see better. >> So he was trying to leave. He stepped in front of >> I stepped in front of I stepped in front of him like this and said, "You don't have to leave the house. If you leave the house, that means you're choosing alcohol all over your family." And he said, "Yes, I'll choose alcohol all over my family." He opened the can of drink and I was talking to the auntie. I said, "Yeah, open the drink already." And he was still screaming and said, "If I'm going to hit you, I'll you. If I'm going to do anything, I'll do anything to you. Nothing you do. What?" You know, all of that stuff. And he opened the drink and he spilled it all over our faces. And that was when I called like, you know, it's getting out of hand. You've done things. You've pushed me into it to the wall. You've done this. You've done that. But at this point, you probably need to be cautioned. >> When he pushed you, did he actually push you out of the way or >> he pushed me out of the way severally? He squeezed my hand, turned my hand off, and pushed me out of the way. And I told him, "You're pushing me and doing that with a child in my hand." I >> think I see something on your glasses. You mind if I shine my light? >> Yeah, sure. That's water from. And I probably smell like alcohol. So, >> do you know what the drink was? >> It's inside the house. It's a can of beer. >> Do you need any medical attention? >> Okay, I'm fine. I'm not pressing charges, but I just want him to push him. >> He said, "If I'm going to push you, I'm going to put I'm sorry. If I if I'm going to hit you, I'll hit you at any point." Did he? >> He said if he was going to hit me, he would hit me hard. That's the word. I tried to record it pushed my phone off my hands. >> Did he make any other things? >> Just the old off your bridge, your nuisance, your all sort of nasty words. I can't repeat. They are disgusting. >> At any point, did you him or put hands on him or anything? Not even in self-defense. You didn't touch him at all. >> I have a child in my hand. There's no point doing that. The PlayStation controller was in the fridge. Is >> it still in there? >> He brought it out and he tried to use it and that was when he realized that it wasn't working and it's just like probably 60 bucks or 100 bucks. >> Gotcha. >> Why you did you or him change clothes since? >> No, I haven't. >> No. Okay. Do you mind if I look at his clothes real quick? See if they're wet or anything? >> It's not wet. It's probably just maybe in here. >> Not wet or anything. >> The mother presented the information she had gathered reflecting long-term exhaustion within the family. It is a reminder that emotional strain when not addressed in time can grow into a serious crisis. >> What I was trying to do before you see that you see what you did even >> Okay. Yeah, I see your shirt's all wet. >> Did you see that? >> Did you get any of that moisture on you bathing him? >> No, I haven't given up. >> You were going to but you didn't actually get >> He already had his night time batt was just eating dinner just to make him sleep a little bit longer than 3 hours. And you know >> when he stepped in front of him or after you stepped in front of him, you never put your hands on him. >> I pushed him back at one point like, you know, you don't have to leave the house. Can I have the alcohol? And then he moved and tried to push me out and I pushed him and be like, you know, just can I show you something? And I was like, you don't have to leave the house. It's just not like put I don't have enough power to push him out. >> So why were you trying to stop him from leaving? >> He said he was going to go drink in the car and I was like that's not what you should do tonight. He drank already too much. >> So when he tried to walk around, you step in front of him. Why did you step in front of him again? >> The first time I stepped in front of him, I said, "You don't have to leave the house. Do you understand it? It's not a big deal for you not to drink tonight. You can just put this thing down. You don't have to drink it tonight." And he said, "I'm going to go drink it in the half." >> He tried to go around you a second time. Correct. And after the second time, >> he tried to go around you a second time. You know you can't stop somebody from leaving if they want to leave. >> Absolutely. I understand. >> So if you step in front of >> it was the concern of him drinking in the car. >> Did he say he was going to drive away? >> I don't know. He might you know the concern of you drinking in the car was you know like you don't have to drink in the car. You can actually just drop the drink and drink yourself. hits it. However, you can't prevent somebody from leaving their own house. So, do you think his reaction was reasonable trying to get around you? >> Not that I think. I felt it was a little too much. >> And you're from Nigeria. Different cultures, different customs and person. So, don't take any of these questions the wrong way. >> I understand that. >> In Nigerian, do the women normally run kind of like the household more than the men or vice versa? >> It's a men. >> The women or the girls? >> It's a thing. We all listen to each other. How old were you when you moved here to America? >> In my 20s. >> How old are you now? >> In my 30s. >> Okay. The reason why you tried to stop him was >> you see the way the video I did, I was even laughing like really is that what you're doing? That's me. I would laugh it off. I would try to like you know, you don't need this. Sometimes a blooming joke about it like you know if you're leaving go to that one donating mine. It's everybody enjoys a glass of drink sometimes. Everybody enjoys, you know, but I would believe that if I was in his shoes and he tells me don't drink tonight, I would respect the fact that my partner says, you know, don't drink tonight and just the clock down. Everybody gets angry and we all get upset. But you telling me that if you're going to hit me, you break my head off. You know, you hit me hard and you know why he doing all that? Just because of the kind of thing. >> So when you making so much noise about it, it's shouldn't ever get to this point. >> So when he said if he was going to hit you, he was you hard. Was that before or after you two started pushing each other? >> I didn't push him. He pushed me out of the way. >> You said that you had your hand. He pushed you out of the way. Okay. So was it before after he pushed you? >> It was What was the question again? When he said, "If I'm gonna kill you, >> it was said, you know, you spread my hand like, you know, you tried to." And he goes, "If I was gonna eat you, I was gonna eat your head." I'm like, "You don't have to do this." >> Under Georgia law in family disputes, restricting a person's movement can be considered a legal violation, intended to protect the basic rights of each individual. >> Actually, she's been pushing me the whole time. I lost count, man, honestly. >> Okay. But you grabbed your shirt and you grabbed her hand while she was holding on to your shirt or >> Uh, yes. Because she got in my face. And did you grab the hand that was holding on to your shirt or the other hand? >> Uh, the hand that was holding on to the shirt because she was holding my baby in the other hand. >> When you pushed her aside, did you push her down at all or? >> No. >> Why did you feel the need to grab her hand and push her? >> Um, because she was very aggressive towards me and I had to get I had to get off. >> Was there anything else physical happened after she called 911? >> Really wasn't much physical anything. It was just a whole lot of her pushing. >> So besides the shoving, her grabbing her throat, did she hit you? >> No. >> Did you hit her? >> No. >> Okay. Was anybody each other? No, not directly. If anything, more so like antagonizing like I dare you that type of deal, you know. >> She didn't at all. >> No, I didn't. >> Did you you her at all? >> No, I just thought I kids your kids. >> Uh, no, just two. >> This ever happened before? >> No, not this bad. >> Have y'all ever physically got an altercation? Have we ever been caught out here before? >> No. After reviewing the full sequence of events, officers determined that the wife had taken repeated proactive steps in the situation. You might say, "I'm upset because of my controller." >> You get out in the car and you say, maybe you take a few sips and you say, "Let me just drive around to clear my head." And the cop stops. >> Well, that's not even DUI. >> I just thought it worked. I'm trying to trying to get to the bottom of why why you thought you needed to stop him from leaving the apartment. >> So you you felt the need to stop him from leaving >> just do drink in the car >> cuz and he might drink it and drive. So it's not >> and you know I say I'm drinking in the car now and 5 minutes later I drive around. It was fair. >> Would it be okay with you if I took a picture of your hands? So that's what we like to see whether there's marks or no marks because >> we're talking about grabbing each other. >> Yeah. And that becomes a question later that like why if there is a lack of something or if there is something why didn't I document that? Okay, so you arrest me. >> No, you didn't do anything wrong. >> Please. >> So, well, We we'll talk about that. So, right now, because it's a family charge, I understand you don't want her arrested. This is going to be the state that's the one that's taking the charges. >> Oh my god. Come on. >> As far as what you did, you can't intentionally spill a drink on somebody. Come on. >> We're not here just to take somebody to jail. >> I know. >> What we've done is we've talked to you, we've talked to her, and we determined that she's the predominant aggressor. >> But what about my baby? What's What's more important here? Come on. >> I get that, but we can't we can't overlook this. But >> Jesus Christ. No. >> A meaningful moment came when the husband offered to take responsibility on behalf of his wife, knowing she was caring for young children, and the family had limited support. And as I was coming around that side, I noticed a silver SUV coming in from the resident side of the gate. Came through the gate. They accelerated way above the 15 mph speed limit. Kind of looked the other way as she was coming around the curve. I hear tires squealing as she's coming around the turn over here. Didn't see any kids necessarily, but I heard kids like imitating the sound of her car squealing. >> Children as in like outside in the roadway. >> Children outside. Again, didn't really think much of it. Uh, as I was walking to this side facing my unit, I noticed that the car approached the parking space uh aggressively. Immediately put her hazards on. Um, do you have any reason on why the vehicle would be here now? >> No clue. So, I thought it was odd that the hazards were still on and nobody left the car. So, I figured I'd call non-emergency services. I thought she was having a medical episode, like could have had a seizure or something. >> And you saw her in the vehicle? >> Yes. >> You were sure on the time of when you walked into the house, it was 5ish 5. When you went to go leave to Sprouts, it was 6:00 p.m. >> I can tell you real closer to 5:45 when I left. >> Okay. 5:45 when >> as opposed to 600. Sorry about that. >> Okay. It's just not normal to sit in your car with your hazards on. And then I was heading back home. You gave me a call and uh just asked for me to hang out here. >> Okay. Did you see anyone get out of the vehicle at any point in time when you were looking at the vehicle? >> No. >> Uh is there anything else that you feel like you need to add? >> That's that's pretty much it.
