Also need contact defects. >> Well, here I look. It's Miller's car. So I mean, >> either way, >> how she got here? Did she tell you how she got here? >> No. I'm talking to her still asking why she was laying on the ground. She said, "Yeah, she wants him now." So, I'll ask her, "What do you mean now?" So, I can ask her how she got here. >> She said they were playing a game and they were laying in the driveway. >> I have not. >> What happened to your tire? >> Huh? >> What happened to your tire? >> I'm sorry. >> What happened to your tire? >> I have no idea. >> Okay. >> Sorry. >> So, how did you, if you don't mind me asking, how did you get here home? Monk and I came straight here just to make sure she was >> So check that out. She was sitting in the driver's seat regardless on that video with the son in the driver's seat while she's passed out. >> Okay. >> And she admitted to driving here. >> Okay. >> So, and obviously she's got that damage to her tire and she's trying to say she's not intoxicated. But nothing needs to fall on my papa. Had four strokes. Okay. >> He don't know what's going on. Then he know it triggered something in his old mind. >> He started, but I don't want to let make nothing follow him. >> After that, another argument started, forgot what it was about. And then my uncle came in. At first, he me in the back of my head and I said, "You don't have no reason." >> And then you can see the black marks on it where he used two. He um and picked me up and walked me to the other side of the kitchen cuz I said he ain't have no reason. He said, "I got every right to hit you." And then that's when he picked me up and did that and walked me to the other side of the kitchen. >> Okay. marks on your face, anything like that? He jumped up by his neck and started walking with him. His face like turned red. >> So you saw the uncle grab him by the neck and start walking away. >> Then I saw push him against the couch and then yesterday she had she was him in the face and she put his head through the window. >> Okay. You know what the argument was about? >> She had asked him to turn up close and we were doing something. >> Okay. Hey, look at the trick. >> Talk to me. >> He was doing some moment. So, I kind of ignored her. And then I guess he was in the living room. >> Okay. >> And she started. >> Did anybody else get their hands put on? School. >> Why you not in school? >> You go to school. >> Why you not in school? >> You missed the bus. >> Get up and go. >> Okay. All right. Where's your mom and dad at? >> All right. After gathering enough information, authorities entered the home where the grandmother was expressing the difficulties she faced managing the children and keeping the household organized. >> He was in the house, but you didn't see nothing, huh? Okay. Stay right there, ma'am. All right. I'm talking with the kids. What's your story? >> What's my story? I'm tired of being talked to and treated like I I don't matter to you and I'm dirty. And he don't have to listen to a damn thing I say. >> The uncle behind the house. What is he tell you? >> He's my son. My son. And these are my grandkids. >> All right. Anybody else in the house? >> No. >> Everybody's out here. >> Everybody's out here except for my son. He's up under the truck. My son has heard me ask these junk for 45 minutes this morning. All I asked them to do was to get up and help clean up. We all done it together. It wouldn't take 15 minutes. They look at me and tell me we ain't doing the damn thing. You can't make us do is what they tell me. Let's not forget the fwords. Yesterday we got into it hot and I left walking. I didn't come back till this morning because they look at me. They tell me I have no rights here. I don't live here. I live in the camper. I'm here to take care of him. That's what I come here for a year ago. He asked me to come here and take care of him. Why should I have to take and listen to disrespectful kids that won't get up and go to school, won't do nothing you ask them. All they interested in doing is making messes. They won't clean up behind their stuff. They won't pick up behind their stuff. They just take food out of the cabinet, open it up, and leave it. I am not their maid. >> Yes, ma'am. >> They want to live here, they need to participate in this family. If not, they got to go. >> All right. Fair enough. Thank you, ma'am. >> It became clear that the children were largely taking care of themselves, preparing their own meals, and were uncertain about the whereabouts of their parents. >> This is sister. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. Did you see a witness any of this telling the truth? He was just in the back room. Did you hear any commotion or anything? You did. Did you come out the room to see what was going on? I was about to but it was too late. >> Okay. Are you anywhere? Anything like this? Yes, sir. >> Are you up? Why y'all not in school? >> Cuz we missed the bus. >> Missed the bus. Okay. You heard what she said, right? >> Are you a rebellious kid? Do you talk back or anything like that to her? >> I mean, sometimes apologize. >> Okay, I got you. You didn't see your uncle grab him or nothing like that. Just in other What were you doing in the other room? >> Playing with my sister and came up trying to fix. >> Okay, cool. Where's your mom and dad at? I [snorts] can't really tell you. So, I really don't know. >> How long y'all been staying here? >> 5 years. >> Anybody in the house working? >> No, sir. >> No. How y'all feed yourself, support yourself? Anything like that? >> Cook. >> Cook. Y'all like it here? >> Yeah. >> You know, well, you do. Okay, then. So, do me a favor, man. Just uh appreciate you talking to me. Thank you. Okay. You know, you can say anything. Don't be afraid. If you know something, tell me, you know, why we here. You know, we're here to to listen to everybody's story, but we also here to help you. Are you in danger? Yes, sir. >> No. Tell the truth. >> You good? >> You know I'm here to help you now. Don't be afraid. >> I got you. You feel me? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> The uncle was involved as well. While he cared for the children, the primary responsibility rested with their mother. >> What's your son's name? >> Can I talk to you now, sir? Yes, sir. >> Okay. Thank you. You want to talk to me? Give me your side of the story. >> Yes, sir. I sure do. >> All right. My question first, the young man called said that you grabbed him around the neck, picked him up. My question, why? Now you're working on my truck. >> Yes, sir. >> My mama's in there trying to get them to help clean up. >> Yes, sir. >> None of them want to do anything. She's talking to the little one who just came. >> Yes, sir. >> Askes him to help clean up. He's standing up straight up cussing her out, calling her and everything. And I can hear him from out here. >> That's your mama? >> Yes, sir. That's their grandma. When I heard that, they kind of got me a little bit. I walked in the house. He was in her face yelling. >> Okay. Where were you at? You was outside? >> I was outside working. >> You can hear commotion in the house? >> All the way in the house? Yes, sir. I walked inside. He was in her face yelling. So I come up from behind him. I grabbed him and I moved him. I didn't him or anything like that. I just moved him. Perfect. I grabbed him like that by the neck. Just moved him. I didn't squeeze real hard. I mean, I got grease on my hands and stuff like that, so I know that's on his neck. Other than that, that's all it was. I didn't put verbally or anything like that. He was in there cussing at my mama. I done had enough. And this is a everyday thing. It started this morning at 6:00 when they were supposed to go to school. Okay. >> I'm sitting there waiting for them to get on the bus. They all acted like they they was going to the bus. Well, I thought they was on the bus. I come out here a little while later, go on my sister's camper and they all in the bed asleep in there. It's 6:00. What are y'all doing? Y'all supposed to be in school. That's when all this started. >> And they've been in a uproar ever since. >> Step over here. See that girl right there? White shirt on? >> Yes, sir. >> You see the girl with the uh purple shorts on? Yes, sir. >> Question. You had the young man there by the neck. Girls here stated that uh why would you want to do that? Did you tell her and this is a question? If you don't shut up, you going to get the same thing. >> No, I did not. >> All right. Did you have any communication with her? Did you say it? I I told them all they here for a reason because their mama's out doing her own thing, which is typical of my sister. She comes over here, drops them off, and just hauls for weeks at a time. Don't bring them no food, no groceries, nothing. They they expect us to support her. She was sitting there running her mouth to me after I done grabbed count. And I told her about her mom. I said, "If your mama wanted y'all, y'all would be with her. I wouldn't be here." That's the only thing I said. >> You have any questions whatsoever? >> No. I mean, usually I don't have no problem. You know, they look up to me. love me today. They they yelling at her their grandma like that. I mean I mean I didn't want to grab him by his neck because I just it was rage, you know, and he was in there yelling at my mom. I just grabbed him and just moved him out the way. I did not him or anything like that. >> There too. Again, you say you grabbed him around the neck. >> I grabbed him with two hands around her neck >> and you moved >> and moved him out of her face. Yes, sir. >> Fair enough. Thank you for your cander. Me and Rut going to have a talk and we may have some further questions. Fair enough. All right. Cool. Initially, the grandmother tried to maintain control [music] and order, explaining that they wouldn't listen, but her methods created a stressful environment for the children. >> You have a question or something you want to talk say? >> Yeah, I got a question. Okay. >> My husband has got a court date on the 27th. These young not going to school. >> Yes, ma'am. >> He's had four strokes. He's not able to appear in court and talk on his behalf because he can't talk. I left here yesterday because of the same mess. They want to tell me what I can do, what I can't do. Tell me I don't live here and all this, that, and the other. get in my face and me. Well, today I've had enough of it. They don't want to listen. They don't want to go to school. And Steven's heard me. I've asked them over and over and over 45 minutes. Stephen heard me ask them, "Please get up. Help me clean up. It won't take us long. They want to be smart mouths. They want to cuss. They want to do this. They want to do that." But they don't want to do what you ask them to do. They want to tear stuff up. >> Right. And you say, "Today you just had enough. >> I've had enough. Yesterday I left walking. I walked from here all the way up past that white house up here on the left hand side of the road and somebody picked me up and I was sitting on the side of the road. I was just a crime because they told me I don't live here. I have no right to tell them what to do or anything else. Okay. >> It don't matter whether I've got any rights. I am their grandmother by blood. >> Okay. What other adults stay here besides you? Y'all three >> and him. My husband. >> Just y'all three. >> Him. Cuz my daughter's in and out. She she brings them in, drops them off and wakes us up in the middle of the night and tells us make sure they get up and go to school. >> What's the daughter's name? Letty Rebecca Sal >> and these are her children. >> These are all four of them are her >> contact information. >> I don't have any on because she's in and out. She does what she wants to when she wants to. Ain't nobody supposed to say nothing about it. >> Thank you, ma'am. Me and Lieutenant going to talk. Okay. Thank you. >> Statements and observations revealed inconsistencies prompting authorities to step in and provide guidance and support to the adults involved. >> He got grease marks around his neck. That's and that is he definitely put his hands on him. You know, if anything else, he definitely got simple battery. >> This thing I don't see redness. I just see the marks and stuff. >> It's cuz the old >> Right. He picked him up, holded him. >> How'd he pick you up? >> Did you come off your feet? >> Yeah. Like I was going dizzy. >> Uhhuh. >> I went lightheaded. Like >> stuper. Okay. Let's call it a stuper. >> When he did it, when he set me down, I was like really dizzy. Lighthead like >> Okay. >> All I know, you got to ask my sister if I was in the air or not, but I know for a fact I was moving my feet. >> Okay. You say grandma you? >> Sure. >> And you say she grabbed which one? This one right here. The end goal here, folks, is uh going to listen to the whole story. Okay? We don't want you to be lying to the police. Want you to tell the truth, right? Told me the truth, right? Are you lying? Telling me the truth, right? Okay. And you was in the bedroom and you didn't see nothing till you come out. It was like it was over with, right? And all you was doing just whistling. What you whistling? What? What's the tune? >> It's just like a rap song. A >> rap song. It's not It's just like no words. It's like Okay. It's goog. Okay. Okay. But you just whistle. She didn't like it. She told you to stop. It says just whistling, right? You kept whistling. >> No, I wasn't whistling. I was physically singing. >> You was physically singing it? Okay. She said stop, but you did. You stop right away or did you say no? Or what? What did you >> I was like, I'm not bothering nobody. >> And then looking at the TV her trusting me and everything. >> Were you sitting in the chair? She gets up and walked towards you and then you say she grabbed your arm. >> First she tried to push me off the couch. >> She tried to push you off the couch. >> Yeah. Cuz I was sitting on the arm of the couch. She said, "If you don't stop, I'm going to push you off the couch." And I said, "No, you ain't. I'm doing nothing wrong to you." >> And then she Yes. How many times? >> Cuz she tried to she did her nails and my skin and then that's when I was like I said, "Stop. Get off of me." She said, "I'mma get off of you." All right. >> And then that's when um I tried to like push away from her and like that's when she pushed me up against the wall in my face. >> How many times did she? >> Maybe like three times, maybe four. >> That's it, right? Telling me the truth. >> Honest truth. Okay. Anybody told you to make up this stuff or you telling me the facts? Okay, cool. All right, guys. after hearing the totality of some circumstances and reading Miranda to you. You under arrest, you under arrest. Okay. Had the right. >> Okay. Somebody's got to be here. Somebody's got to be here. >> We We got We got defects. Our child protective service coming out here. We going to hang tight till they get out here cuz they going to want to talk with you guys. Okay. All right. So, that's where we at with it right now. Want you to clearly understand. I appreciate your cander and your honesty. We're not the boogeyman, but it's just the nature of the beast. So, that's where we at with it right now. I would advise you just to exercise your rights that I gave to you. Don't say anything else to us if you do. Cameras on. Anything you say will and be used against you in the court of law. You have any questions? Exercise your rights. Turn around. Put your hand behind your back. >> If you know the mother's number or >> I don't have any way of getting in touch with her. >> Okay. >> They taking not all going. IT'S JUST FAULT. IT'S ALL FOUR OF Y'ALL. YOU GOING TO STAY IN SCHOOL. YOU CAN'T STAY IN SCHOOL FOR THIS ON YOURSELF. But me and brother. The reason they're going to jail, >> how long? >> BECAUSE HE TOLD YOU THAT'S WHY THEY'RE GOING TO JAIL UNTIL THEY TOUCH YOU. >> Thank Thank you, young man. He grabbed you around your neck. >> Okay. Um and and it's not your fault. You didn't >> He didn't do anything wrong. None of y'all did. Okay. >> The grandmother was charged with firstdegreement, battery, and two counts of thirdderee inment. Under current Utah law, she could face 15 years to life in prison and fines up to $25,000. This story highlights the importance of a stable family, responsible adults, and proper discipline to ensure children do not suffer physically or emotionally. >> Hey, take a seat for me. This mother was trying to regain control after leaving a 5-year-old child briefly unattended at a customer service counter. On November 11th, 2024, Walmart staff in New Mexico called authorities about a distracted woman who had left her 5-year-old at the service counter. Officials quickly arrived to assist. >> They down on the main street side. >> Yeah, >> that's her right there. >> That's her right there. >> Okay, I see And he's trying to wave somebody down. She's drunk. >> And she's the one in the street right now. >> Down. I don't know who that person is chasing. >> Yeah, that guy. >> Yeah, I have my officer hand down. >> Her kids in the customer service place. She just Yeah, we got it. She just kid looks like she might be at McDonald's. Someone I think trying to talk to her in a light green shirt. >> Okay, let me go check on the kiddo. Thank you. So the kid someone's phone, the one of the workers phone in there to call her aunt. >> Okay. >> I guess the kid's aunt is on the way to pick her up, but she just straight up. >> Yeah. >> I even asked the kid because that lady was getting crazy with that kid in there. When I asked the kid, I said, "Is this your mom?" She started crying. Yeah. >> It was heartbreaking. >> Yeah. I'll be right back cuz it looks like they're trying to fight. So can you just hang out for a second? Yeah. Oh god. >> Before entering the store, officers noticed the mother crossing the street unsafeely. They approached her, but she did not respond immediately. >> Hey, take a seat for me, ma'am. Right now, you're going to be detained. Hey, sir. Back up. She's going to be detained. >> Take a seat. Are you father of the kid? >> No. >> What kid? The kid you left at Walmart. >> We have no kids. >> Hey, stay right there. TAKE A SEAT. >> WE HAVE NO KIDS. IT'S >> SIT DOWN. HEY, SIR. Sit down or you're going to go to jail. Ma'am, you stop right now. >> WE HAVE NO KID TOGETHER. >> OKAY. WELL, THERE'S A kid at Walmart that you stand by. >> WE HAVE NO KID. It's a YouTube. Um, what's her name? >> What's in the car? >> Deanna. >> Deanna. >> Okay. What's Deanna's last name? >> Newman. >> Newman. Okay. >> But if she's cooperative, would you guys? >> She's not. >> She No, she she already found her at cop, so she's going to go to jail and she resisted. She made everything way worse than it needed to be. She made herself go to jail today. >> Hershey Percy. >> Hershey. Get it right. >> Yes. >> Okay. Where where do you guys live? >> I live right here in um in uh upper fing. She lives in lower fing. >> How did you guys get here today? >> Um um her uncle >> dropped you guys off. >> So hopefully did he find her? has in our local system. >> Uncle Negative. So I saw >> she ran through the road and I was like, "What the hell are you doing?" >> He just went 12 G. >> Free to leave. Thank you. >> Can I talk to her? >> No, absolutely not. That's not because of you. She's just very Yeah, we'll grab her shoe. We'll grab her shoe and everything, but she spit on me and she's trying to fight us and so I'm not going to She's not allowed to talk to people right now. >> Even at the station, the mother was uncooperative at first, requiring authorities to take measures to ensure everyone's safety. >> Hey. Okay, you're okay. >> What's her name? I think Diana Newman maybe. >> Is it Deanna? Hey, hold up. Is it Is her her name Diana? Go over there. You can't talk to her cuz the way she's acting. Nobody give out of all me. >> The mother faced two counts of battery on an officer child and resisting an officer. She later failed to appear in court, resulting in an additional [music] warrant for her arrest. The situation was resolved and the 5-year-old was safely handed over to an aunt. This shows that family and community networks can provide temporary support when parents need help. Instead of cooperating, the father reacted in a way that made the situation more complicated for everyone involved. >> Don't resist. >> WHAT DID I DO WRONG? I DIDN'T DO NOTHING WRONG. Officers received a call expressing concern about a situation involving a child in a vehicle. Both parents were present and in conflict, prompting police to respond quickly. At the scene, the mother appeared stressed as officers worked to understand the situation. >> All right. So, what's going on? >> So, I was running. I'm just was out running and came flying past me with someone hanging out of the back of it. And then he stopped and yanked her out, threw her down. She was on the side of the road. She thought she was in there, but she's here. She's only 19. >> Is she? >> No, but there's a baby in the truck that she said slammed up against the glass. Not only 9 lb baby. >> Let's go check on the baby in the >> The baby's in the truck. >> The baby's in the truck. >> Yes, he took off. But he also tried to run her down. >> It's a Ford F-150. >> Where's the I think she's right there. He flew that way. They turned around and came back and went that way. But I don't know where it went cuz I was there with her >> and he has the baby. >> Yes. >> Where's the baby, ma'am? Do you know where to go? Who took the baby? >> You seen me the other night? Probably. No, it wasn't you. >> It It wasn't >> It wasn't you, but I've seen you. >> Were you living in that house right there? >> Yep. This one right here. >> Okay. Where's the baby? Where did he go? >> What kind of trouble is he? >> You probably know him. You look familiar. Like you've been to my house. >> Do you need an ambulance? >> I just don't want to live right now. >> Okay, we're here to help. >> Very emotionally, physically, mentally. Where is my baby is what I'd like to know as well. >> So, the guy driving, do you remember what he he was a white male about? >> Yeah. And he he's young, too. Maybe 19, 20. I've never been away from her for this long. >> What's your name? >> My name? >> Mhm. >> Dianais. >> Dianis. Do you need to see an angel? Where? Where you? >> Were you for anything? >> Yes, we were both fighting. We had to fight because he was taking my stuff from me. That's why I don't have a phone. I don't have nothing. >> You took your phone away from you? Were you trying to call 911? >> I did call you guys. >> Okay. So, who? >> And there's two. These two you see right here. in this D. >> Okay. All right. Who took the baby? >> And how dare him take the baby when she's not safe because he's not safe with him. The baby's father. >> Who's What's his name? >> Casey. >> Casey. What? What kind of truck was it? >> The baby. The glass of the the side of the back of the seat. I strapped her in her chair and that's when I started to open the side of the door because I just wanted to jump out. That's when she sees me. >> And where did this happen? Right there. >> He seen me. I wanted to jump out because my baby got hurt. >> F-150. >> And you said he tried to run her over with the car. That's what it looked like. >> He came. Yeah. She was in that grassy area and he came flying straight into it. >> Was that after he pulled her out of it? >> Yeah. Okay. >> And he took off and then he turned around. >> What made him not her? Did he turn? Did she jump out of the way? >> He turned. So I don't know if he was trying to He's probably just really trying to >> And you last saw him going that way. >> Yeah. He went that way and then he came back and he went this way. I don't know which way he went after that cuz we were up under there. >> The disagreements between the father and mother became even clearer through the mother's account. >> Is he going back to >> You think that he's going to go back there when he knows that that lady was going to call the cops? He's not going to go back there. >> I know you've already spoke with the other officer, but I don't know what he said. Do you have any injuries on you >> like this? >> That looks like a bite. What is that? >> Yes. Okay. How about this on your arm? >> That was >> Do you want to sit down? >> I just want to >> do You know what? I don't care. >> I don't even care to care for my self anymore. Because when I I get treated like that, why should I even care? >> Well, that's why we're here trying to help you. What happened today? >> There's an argument. >> Okay. Over what? >> Over not say driving, I guess. >> Okay. Your driving or his driving? >> We both were. Where was the baby when this was going on? >> The baby was in the back seat with me. >> Okay. >> But I didn't think that she would out at the car seat because she wasn't strapped in. Taking too fast of a turn. Baby slipped out. >> So you're driving too fast. You turn, the baby slips out and headed on. What? >> That's what happened when he was driving. >> Driver side or passenger side? >> To the driver side. >> Police approached the father. At this point, their accounts completely contradicted each other. The back and forth blaming overshadowed the child's safety, showing that both adults had underestimated the risks of their actions. >> This is not healthy. It's not healthy for the baby. >> Well, got into I didn't I didn't like the way she was driving. So, I told her to get out of the car and I was going to drive and she didn't want to give me the diaper bag. I took diaper bag from her and went home cuz I wanted to take care of my daughter. >> Where is she right now? >> She's inside the house right now. Not not >> not Diana. My daughter is. >> Mind if I go take a look at her? >> Yeah, that's fine. We got a rescue coming too. Just >> didn't ask you already. >> Hey, what's your name again? >> Casey. Yeah, Casey. >> Yeah, >> where did my witness go? She left me. >> It's okay. Let me take pictures of your Okay. >> Right. >> Where where's where's that? Where's right there for the fingers? >> And this has run away. But this was because of him because I called the cops that day and they came to my house and they said to leave for a couple of days. >> Where's girlfriend? >> I had no idea. But like the way she drive today, she almost got us in an accident and she got us in trouble with some other family. >> Hey, so I need you to step out to the road with me, right? We got to have an officer drive by just to see if >> somebody saw that it was you. I know you already told me that it was you. Yeah, >> I thought I thought we I thought we was working on getting this getting >> I tried I tried tell her not to do what she did and she started yelling at somebody out the road because someone's yelling like we almost got into an accident and then the kid's mom came up because he busted his teeth on the front dashboard of our of our car where that kid that car's back at home. He's back home. He's safe. He's But then we got up to here and I was like, "Let me drive." She got all mad. She's like, "What? Let me drive." Blah blah blah. And she started snapping out. I was like, "Give me the dump bag so so I can take care of my daughter." I was like, "Give me a dump bag." cuz their back here is all different medications. Her center rangers and all that stuff. They stop yelling at me. I'm not trying to deal with all this stuff. I'm not trying to go home and deal with all this stuff. >> Your baby wasn't in the car at the time. >> My baby was in the car when I pulled over, but I didn't slam on the brakes and Harro hit the windshield. I stopped on I stopped, but then I got out. >> Look straight ahead. All right. Straight over there. I don't got nothing on me. You got to hit my ve not yet. Just let this car drive by. Right. >> So, do you see that guy right there? >> No. I'll drive past. He won't be able to see you. >> All right. I'm sorry. What' you say? >> That's him. Okay. >> All right. Is Diana she taking? >> I don't know. She know she in the past and I don't think I smoke marijuana though. That's my medication. I got medical card for that. >> As far as Diana, she was the one driving, correct? >> Yeah, she was the one driving it. So, I got over there off the drive and I had to take over. >> And that's when y'all got in the argument over there? Yeah, cuz I was at the back from her. >> Hey, they need to talk to you over here. >> They're asking questions about baby and stuff. >> That's what I said. Yeah. >> On the wrong side of her head. >> Oh, so she didn't fall. >> She didn't fall. Nothing happened to her. >> Nothing at all happened. >> She was in the back seat the whole time. Diana wants to come cuz she wants me to go to DCF. >> Y'all can take your baby. I don't care. >> I love my baby. Y'all want to take Y'all can take it. >> Never. I'm too >> She's okay. She's not. >> Why is she looking at this? I love my daughter. I try to go have a good day today. It's the weekend. I got work tomorrow. Like every other weekend, I'm tired of having work. >> The vehicle inspection revealed no further issues. You >> see anything like weird in the car at all? >> No, I didn't. I mean, it looks like there's like some formula. >> No, anything? >> No, it looks like it looks like cereal or something. >> Okay. surgery done. He said it was some other kid that was in the vehicle that possibly liked with their mouth on the dashboard. That child not involved whatsoever. So that makes sense. Kid was probably eating cereal cuz there's cereal dashboard. So >> I don't care. >> I just want to have a good relationship. >> I hear that. >> I don't want I don't want to I don't want to argue. >> What's the name of the kid that was in the car? The other kid. >> I can't give that out. >> Hey, you need to give it out. >> Do I? Yes. >> Oh, that's not my kid though. His >> head supposed to get out. Who >> the parents? >> Jose or something. >> The parents continued blaming each other. Officers noted possible improper seating and potential alcohol use as they continued assessing the situation. >> They said they could not find any injuries on so that's good. >> You better be lucky that too. >> So somebody cut you off. Is that what you just said? >> Yeah, somebody else. Yeah. >> And what happened? >> No, I just slam on my brakes. That's it. What' that cause? No crash. >> No, no crash. He told me to pull over so he could start driving. >> Okay. >> When we switched spots, >> so he was driving. >> Yeah. Well, he wanted for me to switch spots because I was on safe driving according to him because of that person. >> Okay. And you said she out because someone took a turn too fast >> and that was Casey. >> Yeah, he took the turn too fast behind. >> So, was he making a right-hand turn? >> To the left. >> A left. And she hit her head on the driver's side. >> Yeah. >> Is the car a single cab? >> So, like that like just like your car. So >> the car seat was right next to me >> in the front of the >> No, in the back seat in the back. >> Yeah, in the back of the seat and she flew towards me >> to this way. >> Okay. So, she flew towards the driver's side of the truck while making a left-hand turn. >> Yeah. Over to this way to the left. >> Okay. All right. I'll try and >> How does that happen, though? >> I'll try and wrap my head around that in a minute. Uh, we had a witness say that as the truck was coming up here, your legs were hanging out. Like your door was open, your legs were hanging out. How did that happen? >> Because I wanted to jump out because the baby got hurt. You tried to jump out with the baby or you were going to leave the baby in the truck and you tried to jump out. How fast was the truck going when that happened? >> About 20. >> About 20 mph. >> Okay. Did you think he was going to run you over? >> Oh, yeah. >> Okay. >> So, put her through like some kind of field soiety test. I don't think we can do a DUI, but just deter to determine how impaired she might be. >> I think that's probably good enough for this. >> So, hear me out. All right. How much have you been drinking? >> Not much. >> Okay. >> Less than half. >> Are you willing to do some field sob Friday exercises to >> Yeah, sure. >> Sure. Okay, cool. It's just determine your alcohol content. All right. So, because >> you guys probably did that to him, too. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. We're going to definitely do that. Okay. You're not going to get charged for D1. I'll tell you that much right now. I just got to determine alcohol content. Okay. >> Right. We're going to walk across this line. >> The other kid, was he sitting in the front seat with an adult? >> Sitting in the front seat belt with a seat belt on. >> Okay. So, who all sitting in the front seat? I need to know. I know Diana was driving. Yeah. Diane was driving. >> Yeah. >> Then the little boy. >> He's in the middle. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And then who was sitting next to the little boy? >> Nobody. >> It's just It was just you guys in the car. >> Yeah. But then somebody wanted to yell at the out the car. Out the car. They were doing something wrong. And she's paying attention to them. I'm like, "Don't pay attention to them. They're no problem." And she almost got into an accident paying attention to them. She slammed on the brakes and the little boy went to the front the front cuz she didn't know. She didn't know. She just began to drive. You know what? >> So she was just practicing driving at the time. >> Yeah. She was just packing. She driving and somebody somebody signed on the brakes in front of her and she said boom and the kid his teeth he started crying. Everything everything went crazy. Everything's freaking crazy. I was going crazy. I was flustered. I didn't know what to do. I know. I I ain't never been in a car or something like that with a little kid like that. You know what I mean? >> And that's when you got out of the car and >> No, no, no. This we dropped the kid off. His parents picked him up. Then I got out of the car when she started driving down the road over here. I told her, "Get out of the car. Let me drive." I was like, "Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Let me drive." like you need to get out of the front seat. I can't have you be driving. >> Police separated them to take individual [music] statements and conducted a sobriety test on the mother. >> Nope. Then take this. >> Go ahead. >> Go ahead. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, the next exercise. So, we're going to stand right here again. >> So, feet together. Arms to your side. Sixes. >> Oh, okay. Now >> on the ground, you look at your toe. Count 1,00 1,002 1,003 1,004. All right. You understand that? >> Okay. >> You ready? >> Yeah. >> Count out loud. >> 101 102 103 104 118 119 20 >> All right, we're done here. You did a great Okay, now place your hands behind your back. >> You're arresting me. >> No, not for DUI, right? So you made alarming statements, right? So you want to >> Yeah, because I do because why would he and my baby? >> Okay, I completely understand. The dilemma is >> unsafe driving and him letting me unsafe driving in his car. >> So here's the thing. You had some drinks. You and Casey went out, right? But you did not buckle in Valencia, right? >> Neither of us did. Right. >> Right. So you're going to get charged with child engagement. Okay. >> Really? Why can't he get in charge of that? But he was in the one in the back. >> He's getting in charge, too. >> Sure. Okay. Well, I'm only 19 years old. This is my first time here. >> Okay. >> Well, I'm just making sure that he's getting charged with this, too, because >> Yeah, trust me. >> I'm just making sure that I went to the vet and his own ter. >> Okay. That's your name, right? >> Yeah, sure. That's why you pronounce it in English. Let me turn on the AC for you. As for the father, he hesitated to cooperate, prompting officers to continue following procedure calmly. >> There was a jogger passing by who took video of everything that happened. So, I I don't know everything that happened. That's why I'm asking you for your side of the story. >> That's the hotel starting zero. >> Did he say 10:15? >> All right, hang on, brother. >> She was furious. >> What is she 10:15 for? So, that's for basically the the driving after having been drinking with a child unbuckled in the back seat. Okay. Okay. So, he is saying that none of that is true. But, of like I we can only trust either of these guys so much. You know, >> I'm going to be honest with you cuz I'm not trying to trick you guys. You guys are both in trouble. This isn't good. How old are you? >> I'm 22. >> This isn't good. No matter what your age is. Okay. So, what I'm looking for now is just God's honest truth. So, I know that Dannis was driving. I know that at some point you guys got in like a road rage with somebody or they cut you off. Uh, I know that you switched seats at some point, but I also know that when you guys switch seats, right after that, something else happened between you and Diana's. She has injuries on her person. A passing jogger started taking video because she saw what was happening. You know what I mean? >> All I did was snatch the bag from her. >> That's not all you did. It's not all you did. >> That's all I did was snatch the bag from her and try to get the bag from her. >> She had my baby's medication. >> Why'd you bite her? >> Bite her on her hand. >> Yes. >> Because she wouldn't give me the bag. >> Okay. So, that's what I mean. Like that. Those are the kind of details I'm looking for. like she's taking a bag from me and my baby and I'm just trying to go home and she's trying to cause all these problems with me cuz she drives my car when she's mad. She drives my car the way she wants to. I just want to get out of here. I just want to take care of my kid. I didn't cause >> It's Casey, right? >> For this. Yes. >> Okay. So, let me get >> I didn't cause for all this complications. I just want to live my life. I just want to live with my baby mama. >> Where's the other guys at? >> What other cops at? >> The other cops. They left. >> It's just you? >> No, there's another police officer still here. Okay. >> Do you need something? >> No. >> So, what do you mean you unbuckled him down there? >> On Brownie. Sure. I unbuckled her, but she was buckled in. >> Okay. >> She was buckled in for her for car. She was buckled in. >> All right. Why did you unbuckle her on Browning? >> Cuz I wanted to look at her. >> Okay. >> Make sure she was okay. >> Where was Diana while this was going on? >> I don't know. I didn't pay attention cuz so much was going on. >> But so she's not in the truck anymore at this point. >> I know. When I left, I seen her on the on the sidewalk talking to that lady and that's about it. >> Okay. Okay. >> When I left, I seen I seen her on the sidewalk truck. This a lady. >> Okay. So, you only drove from there to here. Nothing happened. She never got out of her seat. She never got like never came up front. I drive slow with her. >> Were you guys both drinking? >> No, we weren't both drinking. She wasn't really drinking that much. >> She wasn't really drinking. Okay. >> No, she had a couple beers earlier this morning. That's about it. >> Okay. Were you drinking at the beach? >> At the beach? I had one beer. >> One beer. All right. Do you think it's safe for you to be driving right now? >> No, obviously. No. That's why I let her drive. Would you mind performing a couple field sobriety tests so I can determine whether or not it's safe for you to be driving a car? >> He's not driving anywhere. >> No, I would hope not. >> No, but why is he taking field sobriety tests when he's not driving anywhere? >> Because he was witnessed driving a vehicle. >> How else was he supposed to get anywhere? >> I don't know. >> Uh-uh. >> But those are the kind of >> Who was witness? >> Those are I'm not going to discuss this case with you. >> Is it legal? >> Well, it's not so >> I don't have to court order anything. >> I'm just requesting that you perform them. I'm not ordering you to do it. You can say no. It's no skin off my back. >> I don't got time for this. I've been here sitting here with you since what time? Since I got home. >> I've only been here for about 10 minutes. >> Well, not you, but you know who I'm talking the cops. >> So, I don't got time. I'm trying to go to sleep. I got work. >> Ordering you to do anything? Asking if you would be willing to perform. >> I'm just turn around. Put your hand. >> No, no, no, sir. No, sir. I'll take the test. I'll take I'll take the test. I'll take the test. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> I'll take the test, sir. >> Put your hand behind the test, sir. What are you arresting him for? >> You don't have anything. >> In case you don't resist anything, don't resist. WHAT DID I DO? WHAT DID I DO WRONG? I DIDN'T DO NOTHING WRONG. HEY, get your dog. Get your dog. WHAT DID I DO WRONG? HEY SIR, BACK UP. YOU SEE, he tricked us trying to get her back. Why would you guys >> I didn't do nothing wrong. I just said, why you arresting me? Get this on video. I asked you. Why are you arresting me? I got work tomorrow. I got work tomorrow. Sir, >> would you please talk to me? He's under arrest for domestic violence. >> Domestic violence. >> Hey, stand up. >> I ain't got time for this. I got work in the morning. >> Sir, >> y'all boys act like y'all stop. >> Just let me go to work tomorrow. >> I need money for my baby. What do you think that is going to make money for my baby? YOU THINK $500 IS GOING to do something in child support in the government? I need my money for my baby. >> I ain't do. I let stupid girl I let a stupid girl drive my car. She behind the wheel. I ain't going to be able to pay that tomorrow. Y'all ass. >> Both parents were escorted for further administrative procedures. In a brief moment of vulnerability, the father expressed concern for his child. Hey, are >> you serious? Get out. Get out of the car. Bro, >> I'm tired of sitting behind my back. Arrest me for no reason. >> He arrested me for no reason. It's like, bro, >> I'm tired of this [ __ ] bro. I work hard for this. I ain't got time to be around like I'm a little >> He's a nice guy. He's not >> I've been I've been crazy. >> But he's the one who's in charge of you. You listen to what they're saying to you. You're going to make up worse. You're going to pick up. >> I miss 100 mother dollars out of that [ __ ] >> because she want to drive my truck and treat me the way she wants to. >> She's gone. She's going to be gone. >> Yeah, I know. And she don't give a >> She's going to jail. >> She did that [ __ ] on purpose. >> You know she's in jail tonight, too, right? >> Yeah. >> Let her out. Do not let her out. >> Do you have any questions for me? >> Casey just wants to see her before he leaves. Can you look at her? >> No, I'm not going to do that right now. >> Huh? >> I'm not going to do that. go down to the gate. Through the gate, you have some water. >> No, I know you guys are trying to be right by him, but he's not allowed to consume anything. When he gets to the jail, they can give him water there. So, I called DCF and I let them know that the child's with you guys. If not later tonight, then probably tomorrow just to make sure that >> we can't get bailed out tonight. >> You have to call the jail. >> You can call the jail and ask them. Come on out. We'll give it a shot. But if he starts getting worked up about the car and he I got him socks and everything. >> Okay. If he starts getting worked up about it, we won't be able to do it. give her certain meds twice a day and then one type of meds just once a day. If she It's not my fault. It's these people. >> Casey, stop it. >> It's these people's fault. >> Stop it. >> Stop. Please. Just please hang tough. >> I tried my best. >> You can blame her, not not them, guys. They're doing their job and you know it. >> I got told if I took a breath test, if I didn't, I get slammed to the ground. That's what I got told. >> We shouldn't have ran. >> That pretty messed up. >> You shouldn't have ran. >> Shouldn't have ran for what? Cuz I don't have to take a breath test. Not >> That's not what we wanted, Casey. I'm going to throw the seat belt over here. All right. All right, Casey. I love you, Casey. >> It's not against my will. I don't have to do that unless you get a court warrant. >> It wasn't about that. >> No, no, no, it was. They love to do that. >> Come, I'm going to jail to talk to the probation officer. >> You'll be out. >> I'm going back on probation. Okay. >> According to the report, the father was cited under local procedures. Under current Florida law, he could face up to 6 years in prison and a $6,000 fine. Regardless of the circumstances, young children always need full protection. Being a parent is not only a responsibility, but also the ability to provide a safe, calm, and loving environment for your child. While a child was rescued from a pile of trash in Kentucky, and we barely had a chance to breathe a sigh of relief in Arizona, two other children were left stranded on the street, hungry and covered. >> She didn't tell me that it doesn't matter. You're still the adult in this house with two kids running out in the street. On January 8th, 2024, police in Panau, Arizona received a phone call reporting that two children were wandering the streets. Two two kids. >> So who she on the phone with? >> Mom. >> Where's the other child? >> What's the other child? Is she the mom or sister? >> Sister. >> You're here. >> Ma'am, just do me a favor. Go get grab your ID. >> Why did he grab my item? Report on this incident. Man, why is your not >> It doesn't matter. You're the adult in this house. You're responsible for these children whether your mother told you or not. >> She didn't tell me that. >> It doesn't matter. You're still the adult in this house with two kids running out in THE STREET. I NEED YOUR ID. >> I NEED YOUR ID because I need to write up child. >> I was not. >> Doesn't matter. You're the adult in this house. YOU'RE >> I SHE DIDN'T TELL ME. I WAS >> THAT'S NOT HOW THE LAW WORKS. GO AHEAD AND GRAB YOUR ID. >> GO AHEAD AND GRAB YOUR ID. >> GRAB MY ID BECAUSE I DIDN'T DO THAT. HOW ABOUT THAT? >> THIS MY KIDS. YOU CAN'T I CAN'T GO TO JAIL. >> HOW MUCH YOU WANT TO BET? How much you want to bet? How can I get an investigation? You have to grab your ID. >> How do you want to play it? How do you want to play this game right now? >> WHAT THE I WANT TO GO. That's crazy. What the >> not saying you going to jail? Saying we writing a report. >> Not going to hinder my investigation, man. >> Yeah, it's getting messed up. >> Do you have any hands? Are you cut to you? Okay. >> Is that SL? Where did he hand? >> Let me see. Come on. >> What's up, baby? >> His big sister. 22. >> Can she tell us what happened? >> Do you know what happened? >> She doesn't want no parts of this. >> She almost just got arrested. >> People you did not tell. >> Do you know what happened to the child? >> SHE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. SHE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED. I DON'T KNOW. I was not here when that happened. So stop lying to the people like I know. >> What's your phone number? Just check out the other stand right there. I need another diap. It sound like smells like >> I just got >> Does he have chickens or something? Does he have chickens or something? >> A lot of these marks and stuff on him. He has asthma. >> He's got stuff under his arms. >> The kid has crap all over his freaking >> Yeah, he's got one on his leg, too. >> Oh, tight on money, but still [music] managed to pop out nine kids. And each one eats like an animal, so there's never enough food. This mysterious mother, Anetta, sure knows how to turn hardship into jaw-dropping material for the public. >> Do you have an ID on you? >> Yes. >> Can you go get it for me? Is your mom Angela? >> Another. >> What? >> Another one. >> That wasn't your mom that was here with the kids? >> Another. >> Okay. >> All the children live in this house. Who's the guy that's in the back? >> We don't know. >> So, there's random people that are just in the house. >> That's not a random person. That's probably somebody she know. I don't know who that is cuz I didn't see their face. I was in my room. >> Who was responsible for watching the kids today? >> I don't know. I was sleep. >> So, you don't normally watch any of your siblings? >> If she tell me I was sleep, I don't know. I was sleep. >> There's no reason to get defensive. I'm asking question. >> I just told you I was sleep. You ask me the same question. >> Total there's nine of you children that live here. Well, you're an adult, but >> my brother is not here at the moment. >> So, that's eight. So, who else lives here? My mom and her kids. >> Those four in school? >> Yeah. >> So, who does the house belong to? My mom. >> Does she rent it or she own it? >> She rent it. >> How long have you guys lived here? >> About a year. >> Do you know how the injury to the finger occurred? How the baby got cut on the finger and the foot? >> I was not here. >> You were here? >> Those things happened. I was not here. Happy hours. >> What about your other sibling that's got like a whole bunch of marks all over his back like healing scars and on his leg? He got extra. >> No, these are line marks. It's not exact. I mean, he's got a few little eczema things up in the back. >> I don't know. Cuz they play rough. That's all I can say. >> How does your mom usually discipline them when they >> She don't hit them. She let them do whatever they want. That's why the house messed up. >> Have any animals that live in this house? I have to ask this. What is that smell that's in the house? Because it smells like it smells like crap. Like it smells like that and whole bunch like dirty trash. And I'm in the house. I'm nuts. >> The kids dirty up the house every day. Now, if you live with them, you will know they dirt up the house every day. Yes, we clean up after them every day. They dirt up the house every day. They put juice on the floor before they left. They had juice on the floor everything before they left. They terrorized the house. If you live with them kids, then you'll know they mess up everything. They don't They mess up everything. >> I also had seen that there's no food in the refrigerator. >> There is food in the refrigerator. She got food in She just went to go buy food last night and she got to go buy more. And she got a lot of kids. What? They eat like animals. I'm well aware of that. >> Like what y'all saying? There's no food. It's little food and that just got to buy more. They eat like animals. If y'all need to come live with people so y'all can stop assuming like that's annoying. Y'all saying it's no food. What the expect? It's a lot of kids in the house. What the expect? >> Okay, I'm not going to sit here and argue with you, >> okay? >> Cuz I'm going to tell you, you could have very little money and I'm sure your mom gets food stamps and other things else like that, >> okay? And they eat like animals and you got to buy food every day. That's why she wouldn't argue with me. >> Okay, then we don't have to talk at all. SIMPLE AS THAT. Now you can go back to >> She just slammed a foot in the door. >> And when the law stepped in, all Anetta could only repeat, "I love kids." And burst into tears in a very fake way. >> Release your hands. >> I'm not doing nothing. Come on. I ain't doing nothing. >> I'm with the police station. >> Yeah. >> I ain't doing nothing. >> No seat belt. >> I don't need no seat belt. I'm good. >> Still got the seat belt on. >> I'm not aggressive today. Look. You saw you doing this? >> Listen, I don't know what happened. I'm just here to transport you. All right. >> I'm going to jail police station. >> To jail, >> officer, I need to change my pants, please. >> Your pants? >> My maxi pad. Bloody. >> You'll do that at the jail. >> They don't have no pants over there. >> They do? >> You should call my daughter, please. >> They're working with your your kids right now. >> No, but my daughter, my oldest daughter. >> Yeah. Yeah, they're working with your daughters. They're in contact with her. >> No, but I want I don't got a number. >> You can't speak to anyone right now. >> Why? >> Cuz you're going to jail. >> But our number one thing, please. I'm not trying to fight. >> I I understand that. You can't win. >> I do my best. Mean to me days I'm happy. I don't have that man. I'm happy. I'm a victim with domestic violence. I ain't going to let nobody trigger me and take me out of character. I want to know why you tell me put my handcuffs. You ain't giving me my rights. Remember the right. I went to school for criminal justice. I know about the system. You be my right then and you trying to trigger me. Can I speak to the surgeon? My kids could tell them that what the officer did to me instead of my son. They was there. Hello. >> Yeah. >> So they could tell the people that they too. But they talk very good proper. They earn what they want. I take my des whatever help they need. I try to get it myself. Who helping me? Me. But now I'm going to check this. That's not right. That's not true. I can call nobody. No, >> you don't got no more jewelry on here. Sit down. So, I'm not trying to think. So, I got who I got to wait here for? >> The detective. When she comes, she's going to talk to you. >> She's at the hospital. >> She coming out. I'm going to get the sergeant to come talk to you. >> Hey, I need to set the dream. >> Even behind bars, Annetta wouldn't stop making excuses. [music] She single-handedly took on every role. victim, legal expert, devoted mother, and the leading actress in her very own reality TV style family tragedy. >> What's your name? >> I'm G. Lewis. >> Okay. So, finish telling me >> when I was I was in the hospital, I had this morning to go drop my son off. My other kids, four kids off school. My other two kids came out but my daughter was home at the house and they trying to say I'm the one is my reason that my daughter my kids came out. >> Okay. I want to take the kids out. So when I got to the hospital cuz my son had a cut right here. >> Okay. >> It came this but you know it's open to close. It got to close on its own. So um I had wrapped it but he took it out but when I I bought more wrap and I came back home but I had stopped to call the man said let me get the car first because I'm doing remodeling in my house. >> Okay. So now in the hospital, she talking, she talking, she didn't say nothing. She said, "Put hands around you." She standing on the floor. DCF scratched me and I got back injury. >> You got scratched. right here just cut me all up. >> Were you resisting? >> No, I was not doing nothing. >> When he came, I was not resisting. I walk no more. I know resist. I learned that cuz I was the victim to me. So my baby was me. I learned how to become my classes. So I know I could resist extra charge. >> Okay. >> Friend of my kids. My three and two. You can ask them what the police did to their parents. They could talk real good. That's why you did that front of my kids. You should have took me out the room cuz I know I do nothing wrong. >> So you went sick to me in my >> I'm in pain and I eat all day and I'm dehydrated. >> Do you need fire rescue? >> Yeah, I'm in pain. I need some pain medicine. >> What do you What pain are you in? >> They was stepping on my back and my back my I had a rod in my back. >> So they stepped on your back. >> Yeah. The one this the one step on my back and then I have to go outside so people know to see me. >> Mhm. They closed the curtain and I had to spot outside and I told you come off the curtain. >> So they might pop a rescue for you. >> I was in the hospital today. I'm just saying and you see how tight they put it. All the bruises. >> Mhm. >> So I'll have the officers give you the form for a a complaint. These officers are just transporting you. So they don't have anything to do with >> transport to jail. >> Yeah, you're going to be transported to jail. >> But why came here for? >> Because we have to do paperwork. This is just a holding facility. >> But I can't call nobody or nothing. >> You have to wait until you go down to the main jail. >> How about my kids? What's going on with my kids? >> Why? >> I don't know. The kids were there, right? >> In hospital. Yeah. >> So DCF might have came and took custody of the kids or a relative or something like that. >> I don't know, but I want to know what's going on. And I'm hungry. I got to be here for how long? >> I don't know. I'll find out though. >> Could you take me to charges while I'm here for it? >> I will. I'll find out and I'll >> So, how I don't understand how you I'm in here, but I don't know why I'm arrested for it. >> I don't know. >> That's what I'm trying to say. >> Okay. But I told you that I'll find out and I'll let you know. >> Children of all ages and genders began to appear covered in. One claimed they ran into the TV. Another said they tripped and one quietly whispered, "I got." But every story clashed with the marks that don't lie. >> Hey Michaela. >> Hello. >> What's going on Michaela? How you doing? Can we take a look at the kiss, please? This is my friend Mrs. Reed. She's going to holl at y'all for a little bit. I got to talk to Michaela. You guys step over here and I'll talk to Michaela. Let her know what's happening. I don't know what happened with your mom, but she flipped out on the hospital. She end up fighting me fighting the detective that showed up. So, she's at the police station now. So, at the very least, she's gonna get charged with resisting since she decided to go berserk on us, which is why DCF is grounding up all the kids. >> All right. So, kids tonight are going to be going with her. Well, all the kids. I think the other two are there as well at the hospital. So, your mom is definitely going to get arrested for what she did at the hospital. And then if there are additional charges, reference, child, anything, then that's the detective is going to decide that. You have any questions for me? >> No. Good luck to you and hopefully everything gets a little better cuz that was really weird. All right. All right, bro. Let me see your back. Turn around for me. >> Crap. I'm going to figure out how he got all these scars. >> Yeah. Where are all those scars from? >> I don't know about that. >> All right. You pull your shirt back up. >> Can I use my phone to play Roblox? >> You got these marks on YouTube? >> Yeah. >> Let me see. I don't I don't believe you. >> I do got you got bumps. I don't got marks. >> Let me see what you got going on, man. >> You know you got a bump lock here. >> What is all that? >> I don't know. Oh, hold on one second. Let me get uh big man. >> Is it rain? >> Yeah, it's starting to rain. What happened to your head? >> From what? >> I got pushed into >> Got pushed into the TV by who? >> No, I just tripped in a a table and then I >> Right there. Hold right there. What happened to your eye? >> That is a good lie. >> I I got I got hit on the oven. It makes no That's >> Hold on. So what So tell me what happened to your face. >> A dog bit me. That's >> Hold on. Hold on. Tell me the truth. What happened? >> A dog bit me right here. >> What happened to your eye? >> Good. Good truth. And I got in the oven with this. >> In the oven? >> Yeah. >> How? Don't move. Don't move. Stay right there. >> I accidentally put pushed my I accidentally myself went in the oven with my eye. >> But how you got that bump? >> Yeah. How'd you get the bump? You said you pushed into a TV. >> Yeah, I got pushed. Someone pushed me into the table. >> How'd you get that? >> Somebody hit me with >> Oh, shoot. My bad. Hold on. Somebody in the room. >> But did any did you go to the hospital for that? >> Not yet. This one starting to hurt. >> This one starting to hurt where >> back. Let me get the Did you go to the hospital for any of these cuts that you have on you? You did go. I didn't go for this cut. You're supposed to take me because she don't have no car. >> All right. Hold your shirt up for me, young man. Oh my god. How old are you, bro? >> He's going to lift your shirt up over your head. Okay. >> Lift up your hands. We're going to We're going to take it off for a second. Okay. >> How'd you get all this stuff on? >> Oh my. >> She keep >> the mothers and children's statements suddenly conflicted. It shows that having many kids isn't wrong, but having them without the means to raise them is a real tragedy. Mothers often lack money, time, and knowledge while the kids get trapped in the same cycle of poverty, dependence, [music] and violence. >> Okay, listen. You can't be making all of this noise in here. So, I spoke to the detective. She told me that it was seven counts of child, >> seven counts of child, seven counts of delinquency, contributing to delinquency of life. Let me know this >> like you contributed to whatever they were doing that they weren't supposed to do or whatever your kids. >> Which one? >> I don't know. >> I don't know if it's the first day. >> Listen, when you go down to the jail, okay, and you get released or whatever, you can see all of that. You can see what you wrote and all I want to do in what I what I did. >> Okay, listen. I just informed you of what I was supposed to inform you of. ask me what the charges were. Okay? I'm explaining to you what the charges are. Okay? If you want to see any other documentation that is uh related to that, you're going to have to wait for that. So, seven of seven counts of child and seven counts of being a minor. >> Who's that? You're just asking me. >> Who's the murder? My kids. >> Yes. Who else can what I did to them? >> I don't know. >> They lying. Come on, man. >> Okay. That's why you go to court. Okay. >> I'm going to go through that. >> I don't know. That's something you're asking me. I cannot answer. >> She's not finished doing what she's doing. >> Okay. Well, that's what the court system is for. You're going to go either back to the hospital or something and you're going to get what you need. However, you have to calm down. Okay? You can't be in here yelling and stuff like that. There is no need for that. Okay? >> But I ain't doing nothing. That's what I'm trying to say. >> Okay? Plenty of people say they didn't do nothing. That's in jail. Okay. >> I just left my other kids school. >> You pleading your case to the wrong person. You asked me a question and I gave you the answer. But I can't find about my kids either. >> The kids are from there in custody of either DCF or a relative of yours. >> That's crazy. >> Now what? >> Okay. >> Hey man, I'm not taking a kid. >> I got low low pressure. I've been paying since I dropped the money. >> I don't need nothing. Fire rescue is going to come and check out your pressure and all of that kind of stuff. With [snorts] no one left to blame, the mother tried to pin everything on her 22-year-old daughter, then played the poverty card, but no excuse could cover up the plain truth. Two children had been left alone in a dangerous environment. >> You see the blood, okay, >> let's start from the beginning. So, you're at the hospital. Is that what it is? >> Okay. >> No, no, I'm I'm only going to deal with the part once you got in the hospital. The doctor came check the kids. My son had a cup, but that cut it can't be no stitches. So I had to wrap my son when I left. He rap about more rap is in my bag. So um they said, "Oh um yeah, I'm under arrest." But they never they said, "Put put ham on me." I'm like, "Why you put hampers on me? Why you doing this for my kid?" That's she pushed me. Just hold my hand. You see all the scratches? You don't see the scratches? >> Let me let me let me snap a picture. Okay. Brother put their hand right here. Put his hand. >> Let me see. You said someone's face too. Let me see. If I was the whole [ __ ] they ain't supposed to come at me like that. My daughter's 21 years old. She was going to allow no kids to come outside, right? Well, that's not my child. But you, you know, I left to get the other kids. Can I ask you to take off? >> You want to go get the other kids? >> I'm going to drop the other kids off for school. >> And then I was trying to go get me a car and I'm going to get stuff more to clean up. Come do the room. I'm go to Big Lock to get the bunk bed. Um the mattress for the bunk bed and one twin bed. That's why I was missing and I got a Pink cuz I'm fixing my house up and my furniture wasn't gone. Now look what happened. But now I got seven comp. I don't understand that. >> That's going to be that's going to be up to the detective. You get obviously you get opportunity to see the obviously you get opportunity to take a look at the pro cause to see what what's written down there. Like I said 10 times. How two kids going to get involved with the other kids? That's two kids only went outside and I was at home. How you going to charge for all the other kids? That's wrong. That's not right. I'm going to call a fair. I'm going call a fair and I'm going to call I'm going write a letter to um to the president cuz that don't make no sense. That's lying. And I got nine kids. If if my house not in order, you know, you got the call on me. I'm send the car to help me. I said no. I'm I did a rapid loan to fix my house up. You see I'm doing everything. I'm doing something garbage. So I don't I don't got stuff in order. My house dirty, my house. I got stuff to draft. I got stuff to paint. So what what's going on now? >> That's going to be something you you you'll speak to your attorney about. Let them fight that. >> I don't know how. I don't know. I'm going to get out how much my bomb will be. >> That there's no way we would know. So once you get down to the jail is uh what's my um charges? It's a seven count. This comment I don't know what it is. >> When you get opportunity to see it, honestly, I like I said, my part is to I want to address that detective. What I want to do out of here. So that there's the water problem there. If you push >> the Yeah. So you sip out cuz we don't have all the cups. We don't have no other setup. >> I don't got to be here cuz I eat all day. >> I I that again that >> screaming, struggling, refusing to cooperate. It seemed Anetta still [music] hadn't come to terms with the fact that she was in a holding cell. Here's >> what's going to happen. What is What did you do with that? >> That's my bra. >> Listen, let me tell you what happened. How you got in trouble last time? And I'm going to explain it to you before I put your hand. Here's the issue we have. >> That's my bra. >> You taking your bra and you putting stuff around your neck. That's a problem. Okay. No, no, no. We don't want you to do that. I want you to come fly with me. Do you understand? >> Yeah. Let me sit down. >> Okay. I'm going to let you sit down. I need you to come fly with me on you. Huh? I'm going to put in the back. Okay. >> In the front. >> I'm not put anybody. >> I understand. But if you would do what you're supposed to, it wouldn't happen. So, do me a favor because I don't want to be here. >> Do me a favor. I understand you don't want to be here, but there's a process. So, this is what you're going to do. I need you to stand up for me. >> I need you to stand up for me cuz you can't make allegations saying that anybody did anything to you. I'm explaining to you. I need you to stand up. Please stand up. Okay. Now, put your other hand behind your back. Put your other hand. It does not work. Wait. I understand that. But if you would stop doing what you're supposed to do, then you won't have to worry about being bruised. Do me a favor. Put your hand behind your back. >> Wait. Wait. >> Wait. There's no weight at this point. Put your hand behind your back. It's going to hurt if you don't put your hand on your back. Put your hand on your back and ask reply. Yeah, >> I know. I understand. >> No, ask your question. What is the problem? Do you know why you were here? >> No, they just told me. They just told me why. >> No. Wasn't Wasn't in the table. Someone at your house. >> I was not here. No, but I was I was definitely I was in the hospital. >> They didn't tell me nothing. I ain't call nobody or nothing. I left my son with my daughter and they came outside. Stand up. I'm going to pat you down. Make sure you don't have nothing else on you. Okay. I'm using the back of my hands. Okay. >> Despite all her excuses and fingerpointing, Anetta couldn't [music] escape a long list of serious charges. Seven counts of aggravated child abuse, seven counts of childct, seven counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child and resisting arrest. She was held under Arizona state law, facing a potential sentence of 2 to 10 years in prison [music] with bail set between $12,000 and $24,000. >> All right, let's roll. Just accept them. >> No. >> Why? >> You see this? >> Yeah. >> Okay. This is the form for IIA to make complaint if that's what you want. No. Go back in there. This is the form. >> You say you want to find right now. >> Okay. This is the form. Okay. I'm going put it in your purse so it'll be there for you. You understand? >> I already talked to the detective. >> No. >> The detective left already do that. >> What you mean? She gone. WHAT YOU MEAN? >> CHARGES. >> NO, I already told you what your charges are. Seven counts of child. How does she say? Hey, let me tell you. You had you asked charges. That's the charges. >> That's where your charges are. >> She lied on the thing. Only two kids was at my house and I was not. >> You say you want to go. We out of here. >> I came from the sin. This >> I got Listen, you have your day in court. Don't worry about the detective. Is she wrong? She wrong. Didn't drop them. >> I never How about my barn to come out? And they took my kids. Come on. >> It's going to be a no bond on that. The judge's got to set a bond. >> That's what I'm trying to say. >> Right. Do you need to go to the hospital? Cuz if not, you going to waste time. There ain't nothing wrong with you. They got a nurse there. They'll check you out. >> I want to get to the jail and then you're like, "This hurt, that hurt, this jail, they'll give you something." >> So, you don't need to go to the hospital. >> No. Uhuh. >> Okay. So, just listen. When you get there, >> I know I ain't going to come just Okay. >> You don't get mad cuz they lot on the paperwork. >> So, you got you have your day in court, though. >> And I did have food in the refrigerator in the top in the bottom, I cleaned it out to go buy um milk and stuff cuz yesterday when I went to Walmart, I bought breakfast stuff quick in the morning. And they had meat in there. >> We're good, right? You going to be cool? >> No. I'm >> okay. Well, listen, we cleared that up already. Your results already came back that you had nothing in your system. So, that that helps your case, okay? That helps your you got to think positive, especially for your kids. >> Okay. Well, then whenever you get out, you have to do right by your other kids. And if and if you think that she needs to go, then you have to make those those changes. Okay. >> I went to the jail, man. I left my daughter home with the kids. She lied said she was sleeping. I think I got set up. >> Got to go to the back. We're going to the hospital. >> Well, they do this thing already. >> They didn't put in. You're saying that you had a miscarriage. Then there's not much I could do. >> They said not pregnant, >> huh? Go ahead and turn around. >> They said I'm not pregnant and I was You ain't got no room for me. >> No, you're going to be standing there until you shoot me. >> Have a seat. >> Hardship [snorts] is never an excuse to neglect your children. No matter how many kids you have or how little money or time, your child's [music] safety and well-being must always come first. Get a job. Make a change. Do it for your kids, not just to live for yourself. The door opened. A foul stench hit their faces. And in the dark corner, a child lay sleeping next to a pile of trash. On August 26th, 2024, an emergency call came in to the Simpson County Sheriff's [music] Office. A child had been abandoned amid filthy piles of garbage, living in conditions so horrific they were hard to believe. And the parents, they acted as if nothing was wrong. Police immediately got involved, but it seemed the adults in the house weren't exactly welcoming. >> What's up with you? >> I'm good. [clears throat] So, I got some information that there's a small child that lives here that's basically being evicted. Uh three-year-old maybe or girl. >> What? >> Mhm. Is there a three-year-old that lives here? >> Yeah. Uh Matt's little girl, but she's noted whatsoever. >> Right. And she may not be, but I just got the information that she was. Um is she here now? >> Yeah. You want me to go in and >> Yeah, I'll I'll have to I'll have to see her and check on just check on her or whatever. So, >> um Yeah. >> Is the living conditions any better than they were the last time we were here? >> Yes. >> As far as I know, yes. Well, Brian has a damn door lock. Let me go to his window. Hang on. >> [screaming] >> WHAT'S UP? NOT >> MUCH. >> How are you? >> Just got up. >> Yeah. [laughter] >> Slap your life away that way. >> Oh, yeah. >> Like I told him, I I received information that there's a small child living here in poor living conditions. I know you still don't have running water, so I want to I want to check on the living conditions in the child. >> All right. Let me see if I can get him up. >> Okay. [screaming] >> How are you? >> Pretty good. >> You doing okay? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Like I told him, I got a uh report that there's a small child living here that's beinged, living in poor living conditions. Uh no food, no running water. My job is to just have a look at your child, make sure she's got food and a place to sleep, and then I'll be on my way. >> Right now, we ate what we had last night, but I'm just got my Kap, so I go and go get some for today. >> Yeah. >> But she's not there. >> Where's she [snorts] at? >> She's asleep right now. Well, you can take me to where she sleeps and then um >> we have to go around to the back cuz it's harder to get to the dog. >> Okay. >> That's what I say. >> Or you want to go get her? >> No, I I want to see where she sleeps. I have to like go inside and see where she sleeps. >> I like to know who called cuz she's not in the car, >> right? I still need to see where she sleeps. >> She sleeps with me and her right now. >> Okay. I'm still going to see before I leave. >> I can't get in there. >> Why can't you get in there? >> Cuz we got a couch and got two dogs. The one dog is a >> I've been here before, sir. >> I've been in this house and I know what it's going to look like when I go in here. I'm not going to be surprised at all. But I do have to check the welfare of the child before I leave this house. >> Can I go get her? >> I'm going to see where she sleeps. >> I mean, when you act this way, that tells me that it's not going to be good when I go in here. Okay? And as a parent, you should know better. There's no excuse for it. So, I'm going to see where she sleeps before I leave or I'll call social services now to come pick her up. It's up to you. >> And then a trash fil place came [music] into view, filled with the sound of dogs barking loudly, so filthy that even the police let [music] out a curse. No one expected that this hell hole was what a three-year-old girl called home. >> All right. Bye. All right. You can take me in. >> It's messy. I hadn't had time to clean it cuz I've been working. >> I know it's messy. >> I'm trying to get everything done, but everything takes money in it. I had all this clean, but it's not now. But I am trying. Hold on. >> She's right there. >> You get the dog. >> Come here. Here. Come here. Come here. Down here. Come here. >> I tried to put him up. Come on. [clears throat] The baby's right there. Excuse me. >> This is from last night from the dog. >> It's okay. It's okay. It's okay. >> Which I got to get cleaned up. We usually keep it clean, but we do. She's been eating. >> Did your refrigerator even work? >> Yeah. Yeah. How do you get to the room where she sleeps? >> Got to go over that. >> Okay. >> God damn it. That's gross. >> That's crazy. >> And the child's sleeping spot. They had to climb through a maze just to witness a kind of hell with a hole in the middle forming a place to [music] sleep that torments the spirit. And this time the condition was even worse than the last time. Come in here. >> Let me sit back there. Okay. Did you go on in for me? We have to keep our arms back here because they don't get >> Where does she sleep? >> Okay. Yeah, we have our dog back here. >> Okay, I'm going to need you to move them away where I can see. Can you signal six amber back at DCBS and disadvisor? It's worse than the last time. Oh, that's just gross. Oh god. Mother nasty mother. Oh god damn. Oh that's gross. >> That's the fridge. I got them too. I open the fridge. It's got electric. It ain't too bad. Bet in it hardly. >> I'll let you shine the lighting. >> Let me get in front of y'all where I can show you fast path. Just stay right there for a second. All right. So, we're going to go across this couch. >> Okay. [clears throat] I'm just going to Here, Tyler. Don't even Don't even worry about There's another door. >> So, you have to climb this and you go through that door there. >> No, there's a door outside that goes over there. >> Really? >> Yes, they can open that. >> Thanks for letting me know. Yep. >> The more [snorts] officers arrived, the more the flashlights revealed the destruction caused by irresponsible living and the adults habit of blaming others. They had no idea that this terrible living environment was quietly destroying the health and spirit of innocent children. >> Yeah, but it ain't going to do nothing. left one. >> I got mine. >> You good? >> Watch where you stay at. You got a clock back there? >> Yep. Careful cuz that's where I fell off the couch into this floor. >> Just losing. >> There's a soft spot in that uh couch somewhere. I got you back though. I'll hold you. >> Back on this back door. >> Yeah, you got to go in where that cover's hanging. And there's a dresser you got to climb over to see where the child sleeps. When you said you fell, I was like, "What the heck?" Right here. Ain't no way. >> Rolled right off that couch right here. Just rolled all around in it. >> You already got all this. >> Ankle going to be swole. >> Did you already get all this documented right here? >> Yeah, I videoed back there. If you'll take my body cam and do a slow p slow video just to kind of show it better effective for cut that paper right there. Oh yeah. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Oh my gosh. The 35-year-old father and 33-year-old mother were arrested and held at the Simpson County Detention Center facing three charges under current Kentucky law. Give my camera back and she can talk to them. I'm going to put one in your car and one in mine. That way they're not together. >> I know that's what this is, babe. >> Mr. An, you going to stand around and put your hands behind your back for me? >> Okay. What? >> Can I ask why? >> Cuz I don't. >> Well, we're going to talk about all that here in just a little bit. Okay. Social services is going to come talk to you and then me and you'll have a conversation on why you're going to jail. I feel like it's pretty obvious, but we're go up here to sit in my car. [clears throat] >> Think about going brother, too. >> The brother? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. I have one more. Have a seat for me. I'll roll the window down. Okay.
