I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. [screaming] I'm okay. I'm >> You okay? >> A family should be the safest place. But when stress, tiredness, and self-centered choices take over, it can become a place of unexpected challenges. >> You just said I stole. >> How the did I know you're lying? >> Tell me lies. Hey, >> today's video shows a series of events where adults struggled to make the right [music] decisions. All unfolding in front of children. A custody matter unfolded right at the police station. A place meant for calm and order. Yet, it became a stage for strong emotions. >> You're not. No, I want my daughter. >> Why you can't give? >> You can't take care of her. On February 28th, 2024, a mother arrived at the station with a stack of documents, insisting she had the right to take her child, her own biological child, away from the maternal grandparents. From the start, police identified [music] this as a civil custody issue, not an emergency. But tensions rose as inconsistencies in the mother's statements appeared. >> Is it you guys that called us? Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. What's going on? >> So, I have some documents. My granddaughter had it. >> She been with me for 5 years. >> 5 years. >> Your daddy's in jail. >> I don't have it. It's in my vehicle. >> This these documents was signed from him. >> No, I don't. But I will show I could show when the court order that I >> And what's your name? And you can power attorney and those are the paperwork that she gave. She even bring police to the house already in 2022 said she come for her daughter. When I gave the police all those paperwork, they went back and tell her she cannot get the child because I have legal documents showing with stamp and everything that the child is in my custody. The daddy leave the child is in my custody cuz she didn't live anywhere. She was from motel to motel and DCF on her with a problem with her. >> Okay, hold on. Let me read this. Okay. What's the deal? You're trying to take the daughter, but they won't let you. >> This is my daughter. Can I talk to you over here, please? >> I'm sorry. >> I just better explain. I don't >> Do you have any paperwork? So, as far as I know, it's custody given to them. >> No, it hasn't. There's no >> Okay. Paperwork says it has been. That's why you need paperwork. >> There's no court order. I just left my attorney right here that you can see on that paperwork. There's no court order. Let me call my attorney. let you know that she hasn't been in her care for 5 years. Sir, the attorney just told me to come down here. You can see that there's no court order. >> You got a fourth order. >> Did I see your paper? >> You got no order either. She has the police come and they sent her away and didn't give her they did not give her the child. >> That's old. That's a old um paper she has. No, I have 2022 from 2022 and I have >> Hold on. Hey, hey, hey, hey. >> The Mobile Police Department. I mean, not mobile. I'm sorry. Um Panama City Police Department and that she just told me to come down and officers were here. >> What date did you receive this? >> Oh, right here. >> August 30. >> Neither side had an official court order for custody. However, the police didn't need to take sides when every gesture from the child [music] showed a clear preference to stay with a maternal grandmother. >> Okay. Um, so we don't have the power to like I can't take her and be like, "Yeah, give give her to you either way." So where she's at now and where she's staying now, she's going to have to stay until you guys get this squared away in court. Okay. >> But she has no court order. >> So I can't remove her from their custody. >> They don't have custody. >> Okay. But right now it shows in jail. >> Listen, they said they've had her for a while here. >> Okay. >> For 5 years I've been >> No, for 3 years. And I've been calling the police to her house and trying to get her with me. >> And the attorney just told me she has no court order. >> How old is she? >> She's six. I mean, now she's six. I'm sorry. I have a six-year-old. She's nine. >> She's nine. >> Cuz I have a six-year-old in the car. I have a six-year-old in the car. I have four kids. >> Hey. Hey. Hey. What's your name? This that's my oldest daughter to come with me. >> Can you talk to me out here real quick? Will that be okay? >> You brainwashed her. She's going to say no. She don't want to live within her. You just see her. >> She don't want to come with me because they put stuff in her head. I'm not leaving without her. I'm not going to leave without her. >> She would be exploiting telling lies. >> Telling lies right now. >> That's a lie. >> Listen. >> She's going to tell you everything she said. >> Cut it out. She's brainwashed. That girl's brainwashed. >> Do you feel safe being with your grandparents? >> Yes. >> Would you rather be with them? >> Yes. >> You don't want to go with mom? >> Okay. Have they had you for a long time? >> Yeah. Okay. Which which car are you guys driving? >> The truck. >> The truck. Okay. >> She brainwashed her. She's going to listen to whoever what she tell her >> cuz she brainwashed that little girl. >> And what's your phone number? >> Not brainwashed. Uh, what was your first name? >> Gabriella. I'm Yeah, I'm get my place out here. I'm get me a house built up from ground. So, >> I've been saving for years now. >> Gotcha. >> That's my vehicle right out there. >> Gotcha. The infinity. >> Mhm. >> All right. So, I guess so everyone can hear me, I'm going to document it just that I talk to you guys. >> But as it stands right now, I can't remove her from their custody. So, she's just going to go with them. No, I'm going to take it from you. >> You can't do that. >> I can't do that. >> Okay. >> She has no co- orderers, so I'm taking her. >> You guys, please. >> Yes. >> This paperwork I just showed him >> from the lawyer. >> You're doing something. You're showing him a old paperwork in 2022. >> That's a petition. >> You guys are good to go then. >> No, she's not going nowhere. I'm taking my daughter with me. >> She's not going nowhere. >> Okay. You can't keep them from leaving the building. >> I could grab her. >> No, >> I could grab her. >> Move both on my way. >> No. Why you can't give me >> 3105? Can you come this way, please? >> You're not. No, I want my daughter. >> I'm moving. >> Why you can't give her? >> You can't take care of her. >> Instead of accepting this reality, the mother worried that the child [music] was being influenced by the grandparents while overlooking that 3 years of limited contact had already created a distance between [music] her and the child. >> Yes, I can. I'm a Chinese woman. Hey, have a seat for me. Have a seat for me, please. Here, step out here with names. >> $6,000 for an attorney. She's lying about me. She's lying. She has no child. >> She's lying. I do have a job. I'm a nurse. >> Okay. Well, listen. Your daughter does not want to go with you. Okay. >> Because she's brainwashed. >> Okay. She does not want to go with you. >> That's too bad. I'm I'm her mother. >> Okay. Well, that's not good parenting if you're going to force her to do something. But >> she's putting stuff in her head, though. You don't understand. That's because she hasn't seen me for 3 years. You have I have My daughter has to read to learn who I am cuz she hasn't seen me. They took my daughter away from me since she was six. And now she was hurt. She was in distress. She was sad. She's probably Where's her mother at? You know, >> she knows where her mom is. She doesn't want to go with you. >> That's because they put in her head. >> Okay. You didn't even know how old she was. >> Cuz I have a six-year-old. I know. I just had a baby. You know, I do know how old she is. >> My head. I've been here since yesterday. I came from Mobile. I'm tired. I'm stressed out. I just want her. >> And I do have a six-year-old in there. I have kids in there. I have a six-year-old, a seven-year-old, a three-year-old, and a 4month old baby. I'm not leaving about it. I don't care if not. That's my daughter. >> Okay. But if you're going to keep them from leaving, locking the door, and stuff like that, >> leave. I'm going to I'm going to grab her. That's my daughter, man. The dad's in jail for rape. Her best interest with her mother. >> Well, seems like she's doing good with her grandparents right now. >> I don't care. She could do You can see however you seem. She could do good with me, too. And her other siblings. There's no court order. I got an attorney. You want that attorney's number? >> No. Don't need it. >> But she told me to come down here and do this. >> Okay. They're coaching her to say this thing. If you can't see that, that's crazy. >> What I see is them being cordial with me. They're cooperating. >> And the daughter, no, you were keeping them from leaving. You're blocking the door. You're not cooperating. So, from what I see, she is in better hands with them than you. >> How do you know that? >> From what you've exhibited so far. >> So, she's better hands with me. >> It looks like she's in better hands with them. >> They've been nothing but cordial. You have not. >> It doesn't matter how much you cooperated. I'm getting my daughter. She's not leaving with us. I'm her mother. Are y'all crazy? I'm her mother. That's my daughter in there. They got her brainwashed. That lady's been talking about me for all these years. Of course, my daughter's going to act like that way. She hasn't seen me in 3 years. That's why she's acting the way how she's acting. >> Her I'm >> So, you show up in 3 years from not seeing her and you just want to take her like she's going to be okay with that. In and out of these three years, I've been calling the police like the same I'm doing now. And they said that the same thing that you're saying, I had to let him go. I can't do nothing about it because he's >> It's a civil It's a civil matter. It's You're going to have to go through a court. >> I'm not leaving. >> Okay. You'll have to go through a courthouse >> and you'll have to get court orders that show that. >> I'm not leaving. >> Neither of you really have anything that says you have custody of her. >> That's my daughter. I can take her whenever I feel like it. She has no court order. >> You don't either. >> It don't matter. I'm the mother. She's the grandma. She's not even dead. >> Yes, sir. Uh the custody of the child, but she's like blocking the door where they can't even leave. >> Can you tell? >> She's not anymore. >> But she said she they're not leaving until she takes her daughter. She's like she will not let them leave. >> Don't make me like I'm the bad guy cuz I >> It was um What was your name again? >> Gabriella. What was your name? >> Gabriella. >> Oh, I got a big attorney. You try me. >> Okay. Well, yeah. She She's going to end up 10:15 if she uh >> Uhhuh. Did you tell them that I got a court order? Not a court order, a document saying that she don't have court orders to keep my daughter. >> Cool. Yeah, the father was and he signed over custody to the grandparents. >> That mean I didn't sign over my rights. I'm not sign. >> They had that paperwork. >> I got paperwork, >> which I explain, but then she started blocking the door, too. >> Yep, she all did. She ain't going nowhere. So, I'm going to have Lenir come up here. And then >> she's showing you old paper. >> Yours is older than hers, actually. >> No, I just got this from my attorney's office. >> Well, the last thing uh was November of 23, and the last thing she showed me was signed January 10th of this year. >> Um, there's no court. There's no saying that she got custody of that child. scared me. >> Let me >> ignoring legal guidance escalated the situation beyond [music] a custody issue, creating public tension and affecting official responsibilities. It also highlights the importance of respecting [music] legal processes to protect children. >> So, she said she ain't leaving unless she has the daughter. I even talked to Marissa. Yeah, thanks Marissa. She's the kid 6-year-old. She's like, I do not want to go with my mom. Good with the grandparents. So, when they were leaving, she started blocking the door. She's like, "They're not leaving unless I have my daughter." And she goes, "You >> go to jail." >> I know. And I explained that to her and then she said if they walk out here, she's going to take her daughter. She's not leaving with the grandparent. >> Okay. Well, she's not to be trespass from the station unless she leaves. >> Okay. Well, if you just explain it better, yes. >> All right. Ma'am, you need to leave the station or you're going to be trespassed. And if you don't go, you're going to go to jail. Do you understand? >> Why am I being trespassed? >> Because you have no reason to be here at this time. >> I do. I'm telling you. I told you in the front or whoever I told you can't say that to me. >> You can't. That's >> apparently not. >> You can't tell me that I'm being trespassed. >> I absolutely can. >> No, you cannot. I'm not doing nothing wrong. >> Okay. You no longer have any business here. >> Yes, I do. My daughter's in there. >> Okay. You cannot block people from leaving. >> I'm going to grab her and give me >> You're about to leave or you're about to go to jail? >> No, I'm not going to go to jail. >> You absolutely are. You got about 2 seconds to make up your mind. Okay, drop your purse. >> No, no. I want to get my daughter. Please stop. [screaming] >> My god. [screaming] Stop resisting. >> I'm not resisting. You get off of me. >> Get off of me. You're in my family. I'm pregnant. I'm pregnant. Get over [screaming] me. >> I didn't do nothing to give up this recording. >> Get off of me. You ugly. [laughter] >> Get off of me. [snorts] Get off of me. >> You [ __ ] >> Give me Give me my ball. >> Get off of me. Get [screaming] off of me. >> Step back. >> You're in my arm. Okay, I'll stop. Okay, I'll stop. Oh god. [laughter] You are in my arm. Get out of [screaming] me. Come on. No. Can I talk to you? >> Get in the car. >> No. Get in the car. My shoe. >> I'll get your shoe. Get in the car. >> I need an arm. >> Get in the car. >> No. I'll give you your shoe. >> In the car. If you don't get in. >> Can I talk? >> You stay in while you're in the car. >> Can I just talk? >> Get in the car. >> I just want my daughter. Please. Okay, I'll see. Let me see. [laughter] >> At 1713. >> Can you give him my phone? That's his phone. >> Give me a minute. >> Can you give him my cards and stuff? >> You want him to have all your purse? >> Yeah, in my phone. I don't want it. Give it to me. Put it in my car. Give him my phone, too. >> Yeah, >> because that's his phone. He will have a phone. >> That's fine. I'm taking I'm taking >> Without a court [music] order, police cannot decide where a child should live. The child needs a stable environment [music] until a court ruling is issued. >> Okay. And you're just family. >> I'm just a friend. >> Okay. Sorry, sweetie. Yeah, but they were just anyway. >> Did not want that to happen. Okay. >> I'm sure Officer Jones explained it to you already, but we can't remove children. You know, if we think they're in danger, that's one thing. You know, we'll obviously remove them, call DCF, but when it's a a custody dispute, the child stays where the child is. >> Unless y'all make arrangements on your own, we try to just keep the peace. >> She can visit the child, but she do not. She stay wherever she is and she file for the tax for the child and I have to threaten her said if she don't stop I'm going to let IRS make she pay back every >> that's when she leave it. >> The mother had lived in an unstable situation for 3 years. Therefore the grandmother was the choice that ensured the child's safety and stability. They left with the child calmly [music] contrasting with the mother's heightened emotions. >> Where did you put your driver's license at? >> You had it. I never touched it. >> I gave it back to you. >> You go. No, leave. Please, please. I'm not from here. >> What's up? I was just trying to ask you to get the phone. >> She wants you to have all >> Yeah, she's going to jail for trespassing and then resisting >> and we're taking her ID or license. So, she won't have that with you. So, you just got the purse in her phone. >> Uh Bay County, >> the Bay County. >> Can you just let me go? I'll leave. I'll just hire my attorney. >> I'm not letting you go. I live in Mobile. I can't do this. I can't go to jail. I have a little [snorts] baby in the car. >> Okay. >> Please let me leave. >> Nope. You are not leaving. That's the last thing you're doing. >> That's not right. You're going to trespass along with the beach unit. >> You're being trespassed from the Panama City Police Department. >> Let me go. >> Am I going to let you go? >> Yeah. I'll let you go at the Bay County Jail. You >> I release custody to you to the jail staff. >> Let me go. I'm telling you that I will [ __ ] leave. >> She is going to jail right now. Okay. >> I prefer feel nervous. >> I called the police out six times trying to get him back and I was homeless. >> Okay. I'm just letting you know there's going to be a DCF report made as well. Okay. >> You care? >> All right. Just letting you know that. >> For what? that you honestly that uh the way you acted you're not fit to have her. So >> breast. >> Yeah. >> Yes, I am. >> Okay. Well, I'm putting it I'm gonna file a DCF report and then they'll either follow up on it or they'll dismiss it. >> Okay, that's cool. I don't care. >> Okay. >> Not be this goddamn state. >> Yeah. Under Florida law, she could face up to two years in prison [music] and a $2,000 fine. The path to regaining custody lies in stabilizing her life, [music] respecting the law, and prioritizing the child's safety and emotional well-being. A vital lesson in responsibility and [music] love in raising children. There are moments when the line between a small mistake and a lasting lesson is just a few steps outside a store. >> Like sweatshirt, anything like that you didn't put in the baby stroller, baby shirts. >> I gave it all. >> On February [music] 19th, 2025, police received a call from Meyer store about a couple acting unusually with items under a baby stroller. So, I guess you and another male ran out the store. You guys trying to take something or >> No, nobody didn't take nothing. >> Okay. Were they trying to talk to you? >> He was talking to me. He let me go. He got everything back. It wasn't even nothing but a hat. >> It was a cohort hat. Sorry. >> Okay. Where where's uh is it boyfriend, husband? >> He didn't take nothing. I'm just We're going to have a conversation. >> What you got a kind of a conversation for? >> All right. Now, you're being detained for us. After investigation, you get detained. >> Hey, yes, you are. All right. So, if you just park the car, >> all right, we ID you guys and I'll be on your way. All right. >> Yep. >> Hey, chill out. Chill out. Chill out. Both the woman and the man reacted [music] strongly, insisting they were just shopping normally and had done nothing wrong. However, security footage showed actions that [music] required closer attention. >> This way. Okay. >> How's it going? >> Excuse me. I know. What's up, brother? >> You're good, man. >> Sure. We got So, we're going to hit him both with Complicity. He selected all the merchandise. He concealed it all. >> Okay. Can I see the video of this? >> Yeah, absolutely. >> All right. It's been a while since I've seen you. Uh, it has been. It's a good thing. >> No, we we still get hit. We're just going to catch them all. >> All right. How tall are you? >> Uh, 6'4. >> You and me are the same height, but I feel shorter next. >> Really quick brief summary. Just tell me what's going on. Why are we here? >> The hat. You know, we black, so he wanted us to say I guess he wanted us to not pay and just talk to y'all. >> Okay. So you guys had a hat and you said you were planning on paying it. >> Yeah. Cohort. The cohort hat. I don't know if you know if it's what it is, but it's cohart. >> Cohart. Yeah. >> Put it back. He He got it. >> Okay. Did you guys have a card or anything or were you just >> cash? >> Uh like push grocery cart. That's what I'm saying. >> Oh yeah. >> Okay. So you guys had a grocery cart, whatever. >> You was going I was going shopping. >> They ain't got nothing I see. I like that's it. That's all. >> I picked them up right there in men's. started watching them. Look like they're concealing underneath the baby. Long story short, they did. Went to stop him. They stopped her. Stopped her with backup. Went and he came back and started getting very hostile going yelling. I'll just trip right here. I ain't got [ __ ] on me. A word I'm not going to say. Stuff like that. >> Okay. >> So once we got like right here, she goes this pulls everything out. He's going to go and ditch it. And I'm like, no, you got to keep coming with me. She's like, I got to grab something else. I'm like, no, no, no. Come on. Finally, once we got right there, she goes this, pulls everything out, walked out the door. >> Okay. You guys didn't put any clothing >> in your like sweatshirt? Anything like that? You didn't put in the baby stroller, baby carriage? >> I gave it all back. I gave them back to them. >> Okay. How many items did you get back? >> All of it. It was just the hats. >> Just the hats. How many hats? >> It was like three little cocon hats. >> Okay, let's do this cuz I'm cold, too. How about we just sit sit back here? I'll turn the heat on. All right. >> You're not going. I said I can open that door up. I won't even close the door on you. >> I don't want to get in. I gave him everything back. I know I'm not I ain't let them. >> Okay. I'm just saying we're here cuz you guys are being hostile. You know, they're trying to talk to you guys, trying to work things out >> where the most you guys probably would have got was just to get trespassed and called back. >> They're both Yeah, they're both good. >> They're both good. >> So, we'll just wait for that. >> So, those two are together? >> Yes, these two. She's the one that committed the theft. She walked out with it. He would just select the merchandise with her, but we picked them up and they were way back here. >> So, they select the jeans, the hoodie. >> There's some other things I can't remember off the top of my head. Jeans, hoodie that they put back there, the white shirt, black jeans, two hats. I think that I believe that's it. >> Okay. >> It was a total of 11876. >> Yep. >> What is she selecting there? >> Uh, she was just concealing merchandise with the >> All right. Can you show me that again? >> Yep. >> That's pretty. I gave them everything back. It doesn't matter. I mean, you guys still have the intent to do it. >> They can still press charges on you. I'm really hoping they don't. >> Okay. >> But they can still go through with that. >> And I gave it back. >> Now, if you would to work with them, maybe walk to their back office. >> I wasn't I ain't give him no bad >> sign something saying like, "Hey, I can't come back anymore." >> It's just him cuz he don't don't put it on my name. Like, I understand where he coming from. >> Yeah. They said you guys bring hostile. That's why we just he too serious. I just don't understand why he drove off and left you and the baby, especially when you guys are out in this cold. >> No, he went to go get something to eat. We were supposed to be in there long. >> The total value of the items involved exceeded $118. Even though the items were returned, the act of hiding them showed a lapse in judgment and honesty, which could have serious consequences. If it's going to be end up being both the male aided in selecting the merchandise she concealed it and the baby carrier total loss is 118 bucks. LP says they were stopped at the door. >> Was the merchandise recovered? >> Yes. >> All of it was all merchandise was recovered. >> I'm clear. They want to receive theft charges or trespass or DC what we think uh we're going to do. They do want to proceed with it. I think we're for the male it's going to be more of a complicity. They we just noticed something with the male involved. So, we're going to double check to make sure he did not conceal anything in his pants and stuff as well. All right. I've got loss prevention here. We're working on some F tables real quick and I'm going to get a copy of the receipt and I'll meet you guys out front. >> Hi, Mr. Wood. Are you good if I pat you down? >> No. >> No, you're not. >> Pat me down for it. >> But to make sure that you didn't steal anything. I asked him did he want me to strip [ __ ] naked? He told me no. I was >> I'm asking you. >> Hello. >> So you asking me to search me because you feel like I still pat you down. >> I'm not going to search you. >> Hold this man. Let me [ __ ] Put your hand back. >> For what? >> My band. >> No sir. You are under arrest. >> What? >> I stole? When did I steal? Where? How did I steal? >> You guys don't have to walk out with the merchandise. >> Hold on. How did I steal? >> We're going to go over all that. >> Hold on. How the did I just steal when I ain't had [ __ ] >> bro? What? >> How did I steal? >> You were also not free to go. Okay. All right. >> Don't drive off. >> All right. >> He's going to go in the back of the car. I'm going to pull up this cruiser. >> You just said I stole. >> You are not going to jail as of right now. So, do not drive off. Do you understand, Miss Ramy? Do you understand? Okay. >> Can I get another? >> Just Just hang tight for me. All right. walk over to my car over here. >> Y'all basically covering me up because I was hostile. Y'all didn't like that. That's what's going on. That's what's going on. Basically, just be honest. Y'all didn't like that. I was being hostile with the situation due to the fact I didn't steal. What am I stealing for? I have money on me. I asked him, "Did he want me to buy this shit?" He said, "No." He tried to make me go back there. I told him, "No, I ain't steal [ __ ] What am I going back there for?" And I walked out. So, how did I steal? Can you explain it now? >> I will. You can go ahead. >> Well, I'm going to read you your rights first. I don't want >> I want you to No, I want you No, I want you to tell me. What did I hear first? Yeah, absolutely. >> What the [ __ ] >> Did I steal? >> I promise I'm going to go over all that with you. >> All right, >> but I have to read you your rights first before we have a conversation. >> You have pocket? >> You don't got anything on you? >> Money. Money. >> Bro, this [ __ ] don't Can Okay, can you explain now? Let me read the right to remain silent, etc., etc. >> All right. So, they reviewed the cameras. Yeah. The both of you trying to conceal uh merchandise. $118 worth of merchandise. >> How did I try to conceal anything? >> They stopped you. They retrieved the merchandise. >> They didn't retrieve nothing from me. Not my personal. >> Well, I mean, there's an officer in there. He's reviewing body camera or camera footage. So, you told me you told us to go check the cameras and somebody's doing that. And that's what it shows. >> You're trying to conceal merchandise. >> It shows me dropping it in the car seat. That don't mean that we trying to steal anything. >> Okay. >> What the >> All right. So that was the answer to your question. >> Then I asked him to buy that [ __ ] He said no. So can I go in here and buy that [ __ ] >> No. Like I said, you're under arrest. >> All right, cool. Close the door. That's all it is. >> In the end, the woman acknowledged [music] her mistake while her partner remained defensive. This reminds us that everyone must take responsibility for their own actions. >> So from video evidence, everything like that, you guys are concealing merchandise. Correct. You told me about the multiple hats. How many hats? >> Like I said, just keep working with us so we can work with you a little bit better. Yeah. >> He's going to jail. >> So, as of right now for theft, okay, I said the camera footage, we're still going on it. Okay. Our policy is we usually take two like people who get charged with theft to jail. Okay. We're trying to work with you so you don't go tonight and give you a court date. But I would prefer to get your side of the story a little bit better now. Okay? That way we don't have to take him, take you, and your baby needs to get picked up by somebody else. >> We took a couple others, but put it back. You got it all. You don't We don't have nothing. Okay. You took a couple items. Were you planning on paying for them? >> Yes, he was going to pay for some. >> And where did you put those items at that you were planning on paying? >> He got them. I told you I gave it to him. >> When you first picked them up, where did you put them at? >> Did you put them in a cart? Did you put them in the baby's uh baby carrier? >> Baby carrier. But we we don't I used it as the cart. And you know, >> we got He got everything. >> You put it underneath the baby? On top of the baby? >> On top? >> On top. Okay. Were there any other items? But your intent was to steal them. It did not work that way. You put them out and you guys did not walk out with any clothing. Correct. Okay. And you know you can still get charged with theft for attempting, right? Okay. I said they're going through camera footage. They see everything. I said it might have been better. You guys were a little bit nicer. You could have got trespass. >> I understand. Okay. >> I was nice. >> Okay. I wasn't there. >> I'm not a rude. >> Okay. >> So, like he said, hang tight. You're not free to leave yet. We're going to give you a court date and we're going to go from here. see what else is going on. All right. >> So, you attempted to steal. You were concealing. I'm You want me to answer the [ __ ] question, brother? All right. So, you are concealing items in the baby stroller, right? That's what she is telling us, right? And you attempted to leave the store without paying for it. They stopped you, retrieved the merchandise. That is attempt of theft. I I think you should just get behind accepting that this is happening and then you could fight it in court. All right. Uh she's going to get a court date and you're going to go down to the justice center. >> [laughter] >> Ramsey. All right. So, these are the lost prevention guys. You already met them, right? So, they're going to verbally trespass you. All right. So, you can't come back to this meer ever again. >> Annie Meyer. >> Annie Meyer. All right. And then, um, they're going to take a picture just and post it up in their office so people know. All right. So, I just ask you to comply with them so we can continue on with the night. All right. All right. Thank you. >> All right. Mr. Horn, these are the loss prevention guys. All right. You already met them. All right. They're going to give you a trespass. All right. from all Myers. All right. So, I'm just going to ask you to listen to them. >> I'm still going to the Justice Center. >> You're still going to just That doesn't change nothing. >> So, close the door. >> You don't want to talk to them? >> What is What am I talking about? I didn't steal [ __ ] >> I'm going to trespass you from the Green Township Meer. Okay. >> I didn't steal. >> That's okay. It has nothing to do with anything. I could >> trespass you because they don't want you here. All right. So, don't ever come back to Green Township Meer. Got it. You understand that? If you found here at Green Township, you'll be arrested. Right on. >> So, I stole. So, you found me. You're trespassing. >> You're just trespassing. Did you find me with something? Did I steal? >> Are you asking a question? Let go. I need a picture of you from >> I'm asking you a question. Did I steal? Yes or no? >> I'm listening to the officer. >> I'm asking you a question. >> Just take a picture, >> man. You got me. >> Sir, I need a photo of you for my reports. >> All right. >> I appreciate you. The can't even be stand up people, bro. The is wrong with this [ __ ] bro. Put this [ __ ] in her car. Who the [ __ ] know she had? >> She got caught out trying to pay for this [ __ ] Who got this [ __ ] >> Careful, bud. You get another charge. >> Get a charge for what? I ain't destructive. [ __ ] Ain't [ __ ] break. >> Yeah, you are. >> Ain't [ __ ] Nothing break. >> So, how am I getting another charge? I say you will if you keep it up. Keep acting like that. >> Acting like what? >> All right. >> Yet me for no reason. Yes, I will act like this. I'm innocent. You count everything in her purse or whatever the cost. >> Who the [ __ ] knows she making this [ __ ] disappear? >> Both the man and the woman were charged with theft. The man was later released on bail while the woman was given a court date. Under Ohio law, she could face up to 6 [music] months in prison and a maximum fine of $1,000. They may have thought it was just a few items worth over $100. [music] But the real value isn't money. It's the trust within a family, the image of parents in a child's eyes, and the early memories every child deserves to experience in safety and happiness. A seemingly ordinary parking lot, an unfinished [music] shopping trip, and just minutes later, the line between a disagreement and a legal matter became unclear. >> Then bring my son to me. On April 30th, 2023, police were called to an Aldi parking lot after a [music] report about a female customer using Instacart after the store had closed. When staff asked her to complete payment at the register, she reacted strongly, [music] refusing to leave and creating tension with employees. When police arrived, she quickly got into a car with a child, [music] turning what began as a disagreement into a serious situation. >> Hello. >> Hi. >> Okay. So, what happened in the store? >> Did she didn't tell you what happened? >> Absolutely. I want to hear. I told her that I have a f my first amendment. You can't tell me what the say. And I told her to leave me the [ __ ] alone cuz you're following me around the store and I'm getting one more item. And she's screaming in the store saying, "We're closing." I said, "Okay, why follow me to the register?" And I tell her, "I'm having a bad day. Can you please leave me alone? You don't know if I just lost somebody. I'm having a bad day. I got one more order." >> Yeah, but then you also made threats of going home and spitting. I mean, >> no, I did not. >> That's what she said. >> That's what she said. Did she say >> you say USA? She's saying her side is what I'm saying. So what's going to happen is Do you have information? >> Well, I'm waiting for her license. She got it on her phone. >> Where do you live at? >> I'm doing an Instacart one. >> Okay. So, what's going to happen? >> That's the reason why it's going to be You can't go back to the store for a year. If you go back to the store, you're going to go to jail. Okay. You're going to be trespassed from that. >> So, can can I push harassment charges on her? What's her name? Cuz I'm I'm an employee. So, I'm going to contact Instacart and tell them what the she did. I want the cameras of how she followed me around the store. I want all her store, right? Yeah. It's her store. You're going to do what the manager says. And I'm a civilian. I I know my citizen rights. Consumer law. I know all of that. First amendment. I asked him why he stopped me. He said it's about my brakes. So we should only be talking about lights on in the back. >> Right. That's what he told me. So you guys should only be talking to me about my brake lights. Not nothing will happen to Audi's. >> How do you figure that? >> Because I have people whose officers as well. There was no threat. I didn't hit nobody. I didn't >> investigate that. There's a possibility of a threat, right? If you made a threat, you can follow >> I'm walking out the door. The girl's following me. >> Go find your license for him. >> I give you number. You got a pen? W to >> I'd like to see it and make sure it's yours. >> I know. I know. I I know. >> You have to have it on you when you drive a car. >> We're not trying to make a whole mess there. I mean, it's very simple. >> I had a very horrible day. >> We apologize for that. Leave me alone. Okay. You have to do our job. >> That the little boat with the little wet back want to be cuz you got a job. You're a manager. You probably get paid 18 $18 an hour. And you want to call the police on me cuz I'm trying to get another >> driver's license. But I mean, I'd like to have a license if that's possible. >> Okay, I'll give it to you. But I'm very livid. how she going to call the police on me for doing a job when that followed me around the store when my life could have been in. Nobody cares about my life, but because she's in Spanish and she you guys want to take our side. >> You guys been all out of shape for nothing. >> No, it's not all out of shape. She called the police on black people that all day. You know, see what time is. >> We don't need to go that route. Just show us your license, please. >> It's always that route. It's always there. I know. I know. >> I know. I know. I know. You know, because it's your job to do it every single day. I know that, Carmen. >> All right. >> He's white. Okay. His parents must follow me. But >> come on. Let's go. >> I don't want to talk to you. >> This is why black people worse. I'm making it worse. >> Why can't I talk to you? >> You're doing >> because he stopped you. I talked to her. That's going to be your side. >> Why can't I talk to you? When he just walked up to me, he said, "Oh, I stopped you from my brake lights and the other officer is coming to talk to you about Audi's." >> But legally, he's the one that stopped you. You have to provide your information. I don't want to talk to him and I'm not comfortable with him cuz I'm a woman. I can ask for a female cop and I don't have to talk to him. But I'm uncomfortable. >> Let me explain this. I want to see it because I'm the one doing this investigation on the traffic stop now. Understand? Now, let me see your light. Hey, >> I'm being >> not following instructions and repeatedly obstructing the process required police intervention. Amid the confusion, she eventually began to explain and ask for assistance, but by then the situation had escalated. >> Phone up there. Let's turn around and put on >> What did I do? >> Come on. >> I didn't even do anything. >> Let's go. >> Oh my gosh. I didn't even do anything. >> Stop. >> You're hurting me. >> I need a female. >> Yo, there's five. We're going to find you. I can't breathe. >> You make You say you have a bad day. Make your day worse. You're making your day way worse. You make your day way worse. Calm down. >> Is there a female? >> I can't. >> I can't breathe. Oh my god. >> No, don't walk over there. You're in custody. >> I'm not walking. I'm trying to get there. Fine. >> What's your relationship to her? >> Well, you do have to stand over there. I don't trust you need to stand over there. I will stand right. Just stay right there. >> No, I'm going to stay next to her. I don't touch y'all. Let me break. No, I'm not. Callie McDow. No, don't don't touch me. Don't touch me. Cassie McDow. My son's in the car. Stop. >> Stop. Stop. >> I told you to back over there. You're interfering with us. >> No, I'm not. I want No. My son's in the car. Stop. >> Listen. You're escalating. Yes, you are. You are. We asked for a female officer. Call Cassie McDow. Call Cassie McDow. You're completely >> Callie McDonald. She's a sergeant. No, I want my phone. No. What is wrong? Why? No, you're not. No, my son's in the car. You crazy. What the >> I want Because you have my son. >> This is unbelievable. I get here and I tell her, "Stand back over there by the tree." She then advances to us. I say, "Step back over the tree." No, I'm not doing that. I don't have to. You actually do because you're interfering with our traffic stop and you're making it unsafe for all of us. What is this? Put her in the car. >> Then put me in the car with my son. >> That's not how it works. >> Then bring my son to me. No, he is autistic. Y'all [ __ ] with me, bro. >> You weren't worried about your son when we were out here talking and we asked you to go back to >> Well, you worried about him then? >> Well, the ma'am, you're going in the car, please. >> Just settle down. >> I didn't do anything. >> Have a seat in the car. We'll figure this out in a second. have a seat in the car so we can >> Okay, please check on the welfare of the child in the car now, please. Now that we have the scene under control. Thank >> police became more [music] concerned upon learning that the boy in the car had some developmental challenges. At this point, the consequences were no longer just about the adults. They directly affected [music] a child. >> Is there there's a child? >> Hey buddy, >> can you do the same? >> Okay, good. We have a child in the car. Very good. >> So, let me get this right. And I want this on record. Thank god we're recording. You're telling me that this huge commotion while they have a child in the car? >> Yes, he was there the whole time. >> That they're at Aldi's threatening the clerk at Aldi's and doing all this nonsense. >> I have to check if all three of them in the store. I don't know. >> And with the kid in the car though and then drives out without lights on and all this other stuff, >> speeding down State Road 7 with the child in the car for what? For grocery shopping. >> Correct. >> And then this I don't trust you guy this that I and talking on two phones at once to call people to come here and further interfere with the stop. This is completely out of control. unnecessary overload >> beyond. No, no. I I I really need to put this into dialogue because they want us to narrate these videos. I need to narrate something. This is insane. This is actually insane. No, no. This is traverse time and space and has led us to complete insanity. What is this? I My mind is blown. You're going to drive recklessly with a child in the car. We'll start with that. After threatening a clerk at Ald because you're unhappy with the service, refusing to leave when they tell you to leave. Then you don't want to identify yourself to the cops. Then then you escalated into the cops are the bad guys in all of this. This is my mind is blown. I am so glad we have these body cameras for this. This is this is truly what they're for. So Kenny, for the purpose of this and for what we've done now, I'm going to tell you what I understand to this point. >> One of these ladies is at Aldi is causing a commotion, making threats, whatever, refuses to leave. She finally sees the police arriving and decides to speed out of there. She's driving recklessly, no lights on, speeding with the child in the car. You pull her over here and she's immediately got an attitude. >> Absolutely. >> All on video. >> Nicole, you can search this lady here first. Kenny, you can assist her, please. Just make sure your camera's on. >> What's your name? >> My name is T. I don't get in trouble. I never been to jail. None of that. I was at Audi's doing an Instacart order. Like, am I allowed to talk to you? I don't even know what to do. >> Let me get your information. So, what what's your first name? >> My name is T. >> Now, we're going to discuss the purpose of our next interaction here. We'll go over here. I don't want them to hear. We're going to discuss our tactics. We are muting now to go over police tactics regarding the actual traffic stop itself and controlling the scene. >> And my nephew is autistic. What's going to happen [laughter] to us? >> We'll get there. Uh, what's your middle name? >> My last name is Williams. >> Williams. Maybe that's your son. >> My nephew, but he's autistic and he don't like people. It's a lot. >> How many How many kids are >> It's just one. I'm sorry. This This is a lot. I I I and I >> you are being arrested today. So >> I'm going to explain all that to you in a little bit. >> We are I have to you have to step out of the car. I'm going to search you. You have anything in your pockets that we should know about? Okay. Just step out. >> Okay. >> Can I call my >> No, not right now. >> Excellent. Okay. >> Get a name and phone number of a next kin that we could turn the child over to if she doesn't want to. Either way, we're still going to call DCF, but you get what I'm saying. >> I need a I need a call. >> Okay, we're going to we're going to call him. Obviously, we're not just going to leave him here. We're gonna take care of him. >> I'm just gonna check you. Just Just face this way. >> No, I don't want him behind me. You can check me. That's fine. I'll take off my shoes. I'll take everything off. I have nothing on me. >> I'm just going to shine the light. I'm not looking over your way at all. >> Is it Who is the gentleman here that showed up? >> Somebody they call He's saying he's the owner. I just overheard that saying he's the owner of the car. >> How did he get it? How do you know? >> Probably she called him or the other girl called him. >> That's That's the point that I mentioned before. >> Who's the gentleman in the yellow shirt? >> Can I see over the car? >> Yeah. Yeah, sure. This way. You know him? >> What if he sees? Who is it? >> I don't know who he is. >> Okay, let me go find out what that guy is. >> Wait, this young lady here? >> Taj Williams. >> This is >> Yeah, this is Taj the driver of the car. That's my fiance. >> Okay. Do you know who the other young lady is? >> Yes, that's her best friend. >> Does she know you? >> Yes, she do. >> Her statement just now to us is I don't know who that guy is, and I don't want to meet. I'm like, >> I don't know why. >> I asked I said, "Do you know the guy in the yellow shirt?" She goes, "I don't know." >> Well, she probably I just got a haircut. I just left the barber shop. Carmela, you said you don't. Carmela? >> Yes. >> You know me? >> Bravo. >> She don't know you. >> Yes. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Hi, Bravo. Go ahead. >> Why'd you say you didn't know him? >> Cuz I'm not talking to no one but you. Anyone else ask me any questions, I'm not answering. I already said we already said I'm not speaking to no male officers. And my son felt crazy. So, we're going to get your his father here as soon as possible. As soon as we're done here, um the quicker we do this and the quicker we can get his father out here so he won't be uncomfortable. >> And why am I being arrested? >> The handover of the child was delayed because her relationship with the boy's father had not been verified. >> You're her fiance? >> Yes, I am. >> So, the child is whose child? >> That's her child. >> Carmela's child. >> It sounds like he's having a tantrum right now. He's autistic. >> She did not give us permission to give the child to you as I just illustrated. >> You can just ask. >> Yeah, I just did. And she said she didn't even know you. She didn't know. But when she just said, "What's your name?" Me. My name is Freddy Lewis. >> Freddy Lewis. Okay. >> Okay. Did she give Freddy Lewis permission to take care of her child? >> She said she didn't know him when you was >> Yes, I gave Freddy Lewis permission to take my kid. >> And that's the guy in the yellow shirt right there. Correct. >> Yes. >> So now she does know him and wants him to take the child. So that's fine. >> We're going to have to Yeah. I'll put your seat belt on now. >> So Mr. Lewis, she now knows who you are. And uh when he's done with what he's doing, you take the child in car seat. >> Car is getting towed. >> Why? >> Because there's Maron in the car and she's being arrested and the car was used in the commission of reckless driving and child cars getting towed. >> So she got pulled for reckless driving >> among a bunch a bunch of other things. >> I heard she got pulled because the brake lights was out and it's clear that the brake lights out. >> No, that is not true. I don't know who told you that. If she told you that, but that ain't true. Everything's recorded that we're doing including you and my conversation right now. I can assure you that this is a lot more than brake lights. has nothing to do with that. This has to do with reckless driving with a child in the car after something else that occurred somewhere else that we got called. >> What's the child's name? >> I don't know his last name, but his first name is >> she's saying that the child's yours. >> You're not your fiance. >> Not my child. She's talking about her friend's child. >> Hold on. >> Who's Whose child is this, sir? >> It's her child. >> Hello, ma'am. The individual here is your friend. That's Carmela, correct? is the gentleman here in the yellow shirt. Is that your fiance or Carmelo? >> What? Wait, what? >> The gentleman, Mr. Lewis. I'm just asking because I need to understand just who's who. Just >> I do know him. >> Mr. Lewis, is that your fiance? >> I mean, yes. What's >> Okay, he's he's saying he is. I'm just trying to confirm if it's true. That's all. He is. Okay. The child in the Is that the child's name? Is that what's going to happen? >> Is that No, no, hold on just one moment. Is that Carmela's child or your child? >> Hold on. Sorry. I got invited. That's Carmela child. >> That's Carmela's child. >> Trying to I can't breathe sometimes when I get overwhelmed. Follow you. >> Okay. No, no, that's fine. Take take your time. So that's Carmela's child. Carmela [clears throat] gave us permission to let be with Mr. Lewis. That you agree that's a good idea. Okay. Mr. Lewis, a cool guy, right? No issues. Okay. He'll take good care of Excellent. So, just give me a second. Let me get with Mr. Lewis and I'll be right back. >> Can I ask? Okay. This led police to contact other family members and the boy's father was selected as the most appropriate option in [music] this situation. >> Does she want the dad come pick him up? Okay, >> she said yes. >> You can do it. >> Okay. You want to play with a pen? >> That's cool, right? >> Can you do the same? >> Hey, is this Steven? Hey, Stephen. Was County Sheriff's Office. Hey, I'm calling on behalf of Camila. Uh, she's going to jail. She got into it with her friend at the traffic stop and she was resisting and her friend is going to jail as well, but your son is here. >> All right. So, Steven is on his way >> and it's a father of your child. >> Obviously, >> I'm I got to ask. >> I already I already said you I said that was my But you heard everything I said to her. So, it doesn't matter if I talk to you or not. You're standing literally 2T away. What? >> Why you got to be nasty to me? I'm not nasty. >> Why am I recording my home girl? cuz y'all want to arrest her for some dumb ass. Are you like >> the dad is on his way? He lives right around. >> Okay. So, are you the uh person who originally called us? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, what happened here? Just walk me through. >> Inside the store, employees recounted what had happened. They felt genuinely stressed and called the police not to escalate conflict but out of concern after a difficult day at work. >> What happened is that at 8:30 uh I closed the store. The customer was in a store walking through the aisles and I said that the store is closed right now and that she needs to come and check out. In that moment when I said that she start being a very aggressive rude mean. She start calling me names. I said to her that it's time for her to go to the check register or the register will shut down. She said, "Who are you to tell me what I need to do?" Uh, she called me um many names like immigrant like immigrant like im like stuff like that that I'm nobody and I think I come to America to work. Then she starts surrounding me around like going around me. I thought that she's going to hit me. I just saw her going around me and I just was waiting something to happen. Right. >> How close did she get to you? Would you say >> very close like I tried walking her out. I called the police in that moment and she said to me that she's going to that I'm going to remember her face that she's going to follow me home that she's going to do something to me. I don't know what she was screaming on the back on her trunk. That's why I'm not afraid extremely honestly. I work with people 2,000 people daily in the store and I I honestly am afraid of so I don't know what was her intentions but honestly I was really afraid. >> Just hang out for like >> Yeah. >> So this is this is dad. >> Yeah. This my husband. Yeah. So can I talk to her? She's being absolutely disrespectful to me. >> So, yeah. I'm just going to tell you real, man. She completely escalated this into a totally different level. I don't know. Couldn't tell you. When I got here, this it was the two of them. >> We're just causing a huge scene. So, I told your wife, I'm like, "Listen, step back over there by that little tree and you could film us from back there or do whatever you got to do." I said, "But you can't keep coming up on us like this cuz we can't conduct our stuff." She didn't listen to us. She was calling two different people at the same time on two different phones to come here. We can't have that. safety concern. We don't need 20 people showing up to ambush us. So, she's arrested and she's just been very uncooperative for no reason at all. She wasn't even involved in the reason we conducted the stop, which is separate from all this. She could have just been cool and she wanted to take it to a totally different level. And are you going to be able to get her out of jail in the morning? Where are you guys staying right now? >> You stay right here. >> Do we have a local address or no? >> Oh, for her? >> Yes. >> Wait, why do you need the local address? >> Well, I need you. I'm turning the child over to you. I got to make sure who it's going with. You understand? >> Can you understand? Yeah. He look at me. >> Yeah, but it's verbal. I need to see your ID so I can run you and say I turned my kid over. I turned the kid over to you. >> Do you think she'll calm down if you talk to her or you think she's going to >> I think I can get her to calm down. >> Okay. >> That's the address. That's my >> All right. I'm going to let you talk to your fiance real quick. >> Husband. Husband. >> Do you have to Do you have to sit here and listen? She's not going anywhere. You already >> It's recorded anyways. I mean, whatever. >> If it's recording, like, can we have our space, please? I'm just asking. >> This is out of courtesy. I don't have to let you talk to her. I'll step back a little bit, but obviously I can't let you hear. Are you okay? >> Oh, I'm okay. >> Can I kiss my kid? I can't do that. >> They're going to make me leave if she starts napping. Oh my god. She's near. >> Hi, baby. Puppy. >> Yeah, it's freaking him out. >> All right, so these complaining. >> I don't know what we're going to do here. >> It smells like it. That's why I had I had money searching the car. It smells like we just don't know where it's coming from. So, we have these groceries in the car. We're going to turn those over to you. You're not listed as a co-owner of the vehicle on the registration, just on insurance. >> I'm the owner of >> You have the card with you that shows your name on it? >> I got the Bristol West policy right here. The Grand Jeep right here. >> This is the This is this car. >> Yes, sir. >> We're not supposed to. >> Yes, sir. >> I'll let you go and take the car. This is like a one time thing. >> Talk to the two girls >> after this moving forward. Can you please have them just be totally cool with us like you are? >> I got you. >> Please. That's all. >> All right. Hey, uh Evans, cancel the toe. We're going to let him take >> I'm I'm bending the rules to let him have the car out of a courtesy just because financially there's really no way and he has absolutely been a class act. So Okay, we may need one more thing. So, we have someone detained who may or may not be the suspect. But all I need for you to do is go over there and see if you can identify him. If you can, just say yes. And if you can't, just say no. >> Yeah, I just need to close the building. >> Okay, how how long will that take? >> 5 minutes. >> Okay, I'll wait 5 minutes. >> Oh, yeah. >> It'll take Thank you so much. >> It'll take like 5 minutes. >> Okay. Yeah, I can give send you a link to your phone to where you can upload the video. >> Okay. >> And uh that should be good. >> Okay. Thank you so much. Thank you for reacting very fast. I don't even own this property. >> I had called the same sheriff's department a month and a half ago. >> Yes. About a crockpot that's over there. >> Crockpot and cook. >> Yes. >> What is What is being cookie in the crock pot? >> No, cuz I don't own the property. >> So, how do you know that? You said there's something in it. >> I don't know if there's something in it. I'm telling you, I called them and said, "Hey, there's a magical crockpot that magically appear." >> How did it get there? >> I don't know. I don't know the property. >> They like astro travel. Whatever. >> I don't know. I don't I don't even know how to astro travel, >> but they might astro travel, you know. >> Let me talk to that. >> What's happening tonight? >> Okay. Tonight I literally told my mom to stop following my child. She's been following my mom constantly. >> Okay. >> She has been acting very very weak since January. >> Your mom or your child? >> Yes. My mom. Well, my mom and my child, even my brother threatened me yesterday that if I left to go get some goddamn groceries, that my car was going to stop and I was going to literally have to walk home. And that's what I did. The red vehicle that's up the road. It had glass in it and everything. >> Okay. >> It's not here anymore. >> Okay. >> It's on the side of the road. >> I have a desk in the house that child with me. >> Who did? >> Child protective service. >> When were they here? >> This morning. >> What did they say? >> Um they gave me a piece of paper. She told me to fill out some paperwork. She told me to put D and F where she was supposed to sign. Then she told me I had to have a test. So, I had a drug test. Then she told me what what uh cuz she asked me what I smoked. And I said, "I smoke marijuana cuz I have a medical card." And she's like, "Do you take anything else?" I said, "I don't even take Tylenol." Okay. >> For a headache. I do herbal remedies throughout my yard and different things like that. So I she told me, "Okay, go ahead, dump your pee out." She handed me the bottle. And I was like, "Interesting." And she goes, "Oh, that's that's for evidence for later." I was like, "Okay." So then she gives me a piece of paper and says, "The only thing that's in my system is THC. The rest of it's all negative." She put made me put my initials, which is all capital letters, Courtney Daniel Culver, CDC. Okay. And my name is Courtney Daniel Cder/Pionro Rothschild. >> Why do you have two names? >> Because it's uter contract. >> Not familiar with how that works. >> I don't either. Uh but I was um I'm Putin's [ __ ] daughter. >> Oh, okay. >> Vladimir Putin Rothschild to be exact. >> That's interesting. >> And aka Rockerfeller. He's been a lot of different names. Huh? What we doing? >> I even know personally. I even have photographs of Trump. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. He actually adopted me when I magically disappeared from Putin cuz my mom was in federal prison when she had me. And my birds are flying. >> You got a lot of ducks. >> Oh yeah. I only had one male and all of a sudden they started turning into I had one male >> that's not messed up and that's him. All of a sudden out of nowhere my ducks turn into males and I only have one. >> Yeah. You got a rabbit too. >> Mhm. Rabbit. So >> that's pretty cool. >> The mother continued sharing disjointed stories unrelated to the incident which added to the confusion. It was interesting cuz when she handed it to me to see it was in Chinese. >> Chinese >> or Japanese? >> Okay. >> And I touched the bottle after she left and it turned to English. I was like, "Oo, interesting." Cuz I'm a little linguistics. I've been teaching myself how to uh do different languages. Um trying to teach myself, which means I love the police department. The true police department doesn't like pedophilia. >> True. >> Cuz I hate pedophilia. I I was afraid most of my life. Every time I've ever been here, I've been here more more times than a human being should be. I mean, even that girl Scarlet that had her hand chopped off at the >> not familiar. Well, it's it's history, but um she said right before she got her hand chucked off by her father that she was going to come back as Courtney Daniel called her aka Fiona and periodically I haven't felt right when she cooked some food all kinds of random [ __ ] I even have on the the says that I have rat poison in my system. It says I have enough fentanyl for a goddamn human being to be dead. possible. >> It's important that the it's it's it's a it's a putt about this big. It's got a lid. I touched it because it was half open and I wanted to see what was in it. I didn't see anything in it. So, I just kind of put the lid back on cuz I didn't know who it was, but Scott Miller owns that property around me. >> Okay. >> And there it all of a sudden magically appeared in January. And it's got it's sitting on a post. It's got electrical wires and all kinds of stuff. It started like I I smelled it one day when I was outside and I screamed to my kids, "Go inside. Someone's cooking me. Doesn't smell right." And other people around even said it >> and there's been a lot of gunshots in the last like two weeks that gunshots and all kinds of [ __ ] And I've reported that too. And I even said something to him about that the other day when he was out here when I called about that's why CP was out here >> cuz I was like hey uh my kid and they didn't do it they haven't been to the hospital nothing happened but all of them have told me the child protective service worker told me that she didn't say that but is an autistic child and she confronted and my son confronted in front of my mom and her and my brother. >> Mhm. >> So, I would like to know what's going on, why we haven't been taken to anything to be, you know, be able to figure all this out because I don't like human trafficking at all. >> Well, I don't think very many people do. >> No, I personally think they need to be whoever's a pedophile needed to be their head chopped off. my personal opinion. That's just >> Well, that's an opinion a lot of people share. I think >> Oh, yeah. There's a lot of people unfortunately a lot of people. Damn it. >> Despite this, police remained [music] patient, assessed the situation, and ensured the child's safety before taking necessary steps. This shows how adult calmness and responsibility can reduce risks [music] in challenging situations. >> Okay. >> So, how many kids did you say you have? >> Four. >> But one of my ch one of my children don't look the same. >> Well, that's okay. I have a photograph of a child that is >> What's name? >> Uh, >> can you spell that for me? >> And what's his middle name? >> Uh, well, >> okay. And then what's his last name? >> Yes. >> What's his date of birth? >> His date of birth is going to be >> And what his date of birth? His date of birth uh that would be Joseph. >> Okay. >> John Calder or Joseph John IIO Calder and his date of birth is 4164. >> All right. Is it J O N or J O H N? >> J O H N. >> Okay. Awesome. You got a whole mess of kids here, huh? >> Oh, yeah. They love disappearing on the kind of try to I'm a personal maid. >> Yeah. Well, >> kids >> like that girl >> kids are running ragged. >> Have you ever seen that Jupiter movie Jupiter or something? >> Uh-uh. >> It's about a girl that was a maid, but she was queen and she ended up being a maid and all kinds of random [ __ ] >> No. No. I've never seen ing movie. It's It's based on crop like a crop like alien type stuff >> like crop circles and stuff. >> Yeah. That type stuff. Uh like it's kind of between like Optimus Prime type movie and Stranger Things. I don't know if you've ever I've watched pieces of Stranger Things. >> I've never seen it. Everybody talks about a lot, but I've never seen it. >> I actually had a video. I was actually in the process of watching a movie and all of a sudden out of nowhere one of my TVs, it was a government TV from a military officer which was Jeff I think it was cuz she's been bringing home different TVs periodically broke my damn TV and I was pissed off because I was like what is going on? Why? Because I called the scam casher department several different times. >> Mhm. How you going? Very good. Thank you. 49. We're 10:15. Give me some light. 10531. 49, can you tell the child head for EMS? >> Some kind of a blow to the back of the head. Nothing's open. >> 10 over here and unlock his car. 300 >> landed on the child in his hardwood floors and he has a pretty good bump on the back of his head. >> All right, I see. Never been on one of these before. I uh probably need to roll that down in case she starts flipping out. That way we can hear her. The mother was charged with felony child neg and misdemeanor battery and was booked into Escambia County Jail with bail set at >> [music] >> $4,000. This situation serves as a reminder that adults must create a safe environment, provide proper care, and seek support from authorities when needed to protect children. They continue in new beyond belief where children endure. It's almost beyond belief. >> People don't even know what's going on. They just see cops or they don't see me here. They're just nosy. They have no idea what's going on with me right now. >> On October 29th, 2024, [music] Farmington police in New Mexico received a report of unsafe living conditions in a home. They quickly launched an investigation and upon [music] arrival found three children 17, 15, and 11, living in inadequate conditions, two of whom were autistic and needed close supervision to ensure [music] their safety. >> Hi. >> Hi, Chris. How are you? >> What's going on? >> We got a call to just come check up on you. Is your mom home? >> I call you. >> Just a concerned citizen. >> Hi. Is your mom home? >> Seriously, who the [ __ ] >> She's not home. It's like no one knows like who the hell you >> I can call her >> that. Do you have a phone number for her? >> Okay. >> Call her for anything. Yep. Angus, you're here cuz you're trying to keep my brother in here. >> No, no, no. We just came to do um just to check on you guys. >> Well, we are we are doing okay. >> What's your dog's name? Well, we actually have Well, we have four of them. Then we have puppy to And we have two mamas, Karma and Maple. They both have two babies. >> And then we have the daddy dog, which is pink. >> What kind of dog? >> Well, I think that's my whole bag. >> Don't tear it. >> How was school today? >> We're good. >> You got a job? >> Yeah. I might have to ask my mom a chance like a spare work apron cuz guess what? My mom's going be barbecue dad versus sports mom versus soccer mom. So you can dress up like a soccer player or it can be like a barbecue. >> Yeah. I Yeah. I ask my mom if she has like an apron. So it could be like the >> go get this thing taken out. >> What day is trash day? Do you know? >> I think it's Tuesday. >> Tuesday. Okay. >> Today is Tuesday. >> Today is Tuesday. >> Oh, I take it out this morning. >> Uh oh. And I got to wait a week. I got to wait till Tuesday. I got to wait till next Tuesday to take out this thing coming. >> Dang it. I always forget trash day, too. Okay. [snorts] >> Yeah, >> I get all of us. Even my mom and she forgot as well. >> Yeah, man. Things going crazy. >> The boy's words revealed a secret. Though daily life went on, the children were often left unattended by their mother. Do you know how long it'll be before your mom gets home? >> Well, normally she hangs out with a boyfriend in that deck, but I don't know how long it takes. Maybe like I don't know, maybe like I don't know, maybe like half an hour. Maybe like 45 55 minutes. >> Okay. >> I mean, it's pretty far. >> Yeah, it's kind of far, huh? >> Hey, if you guys were ever hurt, what would you guys do? If any of you guys got hurt, >> we would probably need to like find someone. Yeah, that's why that's exist. >> Okay. So, how would you guys call for help if you guys needed help? >> Do you guys know? No. >> Do you guys know how to call for us if you need us for help? >> 911. >> Yeah. >> 911. >> 911. >> Yeah. >> Do you guys know your neighbors? >> Not really. >> I do know the guy right I do know the guy right in front of us is Sean. Okay. >> Yep. >> And then that trailer right there. >> That's where Yeah. Well, Black Her brothers hangs out. That trailer, that is where freaking Julian hangs out at. Yeah. >> Yeah. And Yeah. And her friend Maria, she's just right. She just like right across. >> Oh, okay. >> Okay. Well, we'll get away for you all right here, guys. Okay. So, just so you guys are aware. >> Yeah, I'm aware. >> You guys aren't in trouble. We're just making sure you guys are okay. >> Yeah, we all right. trespassing. >> So if you guys needed to go somewhere, how would you guys find somebody to go somewhere? >> Yeah, sometimes we have to wait and get some cups for like a drink. >> I mean, >> after some waiting, the mother finally returned. >> Good. How are you? >> Not too bad. Working. >> Yeah. I'm going to have you keep your hands out of your pocket, sir. Thank you. >> I'm not being investigated. So why why you arresting me? >> I'm not. I just asked you to keep your hands out of your pocket, sir. >> For some reason, I've already heard that she's been spreading all kinds of bad juju. I don't think this person what she's whoever it is. I'm She Well, she's kind of the sister. They grew up together when they were kids. Her dad used to date his mom and came to this person. I barely talked to him. >> He already told me that she was talking to him earlier about saying all seeing all kinds of stuff and I was at work at the most. I mean, her and I don't get along, but I haven't done the same to her and I think she's she's making it what she's doing. >> Their conversation revealed another troubling [music] issue about keeping docks. I I realized that I was not here, but I wasn't even 10 15 minutes before you called me. >> Where were you? >> I do some side work for the French makes money. Get paid every week cuz you're still at it's just for a very long time. And as far as living conditions as well, that's house is a mess of being with the report dogs passing away and then dogs being disposed of. What? Whatever. I don't This is just what I'm getting. >> Okay. I mean, I do have four dogs. >> Okay. >> And I do have four puppies. >> All right. So, in the city, you can only have four dogs. You know that. >> So, I have to get rid of two dogs or can I just get rid of the puppies? That's all I'm waiting for. as soon as they're old enough though, >> but that's still a couple weeks. They're still babies. >> And that that's something I have to talk to a lot. I don't know to be honest with you because we don't deal with, you know, so we've had them for a while. We've not really had any problem. >> When questioned about, the 40-year-old mother immediately justified herself with personal hardships, poverty, no internet, nosy neighbors, yet never once mentioned the safety [music] of her three children. >> Right. But you're not. Nobody even here even knows me when I comes over. Nobody calls me. No one says hi. But I leave my kids alone for more than 5 minutes. And I've got SWAT team all over the damn neighborhood. I am not just anybody in here. I am just a single mother three kids trying to survive. >> Are you and do you have >> I would have anybody for all that. CIP already talked to me about that multiple 200 times. And have you tried to seek any help overseas? I don't know about the whole Medicaid transport and health appointments and they want me to do classes and all this other stuff and have you accept or is there any type of >> I gave them my new number but it's out of service right now. The only way you could reach me is here at the house or maybe at work and so um your phone's out of service. It's a food stone. It's out of minutes. So whose phone is your daughter? It's my vote. It like you can still call but like I don't have any data or anything like that. Sometimes she gets the calls, sometimes she doesn't. Okay. Cuz she calls you perfectly fine. >> She's probably using that's why my phone says it's over minutes cuz it only gets 5 gigs and they said I've got like Yeah, it's over my limit. Okay. So, I mean she's able to make phone calls, right? It's a lot of excuses that I'm getting. Okay. And not a lot of accountability at this point. >> Okay. So, game plan for today. >> I can never leave my house again. No, we're waiting for CFD to show up. Okay, we're going to do a visit inside. Okay, they're probably going to talk to you. They're probably going to talk to the kiddos as far as that goes and do their investigation. For right now, I do need to do a walk through for the house because I didn't need to call and update them as far as where I'm safe and which direction. Please stand by with this officer. >> The mother kept complaining even as police asked [music] for information and a statement. Well, you can have your minute right here. Okay. >> I'm just going to stand here with you. You can have your minute. >> And when you don't stay here, where do you stay? You stay with him at his house. >> I'm not gone all the time like everybody's seeing. >> Okay. People don't even know what's going on. They just see cops or they don't see me here. They're just being nosy. They have no idea what's going on with me right now. And this is all just bunch of added drama that's completely unnecessary. I didn't do anything to anybody. I have no parents, no family. I have nobody around here. It's just me. And if people are doing this to just to start truly on their way, they should be here from the office here, I'd say, probably 20 minutes, give or take. So, we'll just wait for them and then we'll all just do the home visit so we can get that. Okay. >> Okay. Yeah. >> Have a good day. >> All right. Let's get your information real quick. Your first name. Okay. And the oldest is >> same last name. And then the next one was And then I know how do you spell her name though? Remember that cuz that's my name too. So, They went inside [music] the house. In fact, the space wasn't as dirty or cluttered as expected, but the toilet was in unsanitary condition. >> Quiet. I'm going to shut the door. It's chilly out. >> So, like I said, C do their visit as well, but that's okay. We do have to do a whole talk through questions to talk to you about too. So, as far as you said, where where does everyone sleep? >> Most Well, they have their rooms, but mostly we sleep in here cuz we don't have the internet at the moment, so we watch movies. >> Yeah, we only escape. We can walk out back. >> Whoever wants to come talk to me first. >> No one's in trouble. >> Is there anything in there? Watch yourself at the bottom. Okay, karma. >> That wasn't all. Outside was another room serving as the shelter of the 15year-old son. >> Oh, dang it. Yeah, I remember you telling me there's no internet here. Oh, you usually sleep in here and hang out? >> Yeah, I mostly sleep here. >> Okay. Do you watch TV in here sometimes? >> If there's internet here, I could, but for right now, there's no internet. >> No. Okay. Can I look back there? Is that your bathroom? What is that? >> Yeah. Sorry, but that one's off limits. It's the bathroom, but you don't want to look in there. >> All right, I won't look in there. Nice little hangout spot. I appreciate it. We'll come talk to you here in a minute. I know you don't want to talk to that lady, which usually >> Okay. >> Okay. All right. Well, thanks for talking to me, Chris. I like your TV. I'll see you. You want me to shut this? >> All right, I can do that for you. >> But with a house lacking water, electricity, [music] and even internet, police had no choice but to remove the children. At that moment, one of them quietly asked, "Can I come home tomorrow?" >> So, she does have a spare backpack, >> but the backpack that she had with her today is in my buddy's car. Would he be allowed to just bring it back to her? >> Is that the your friend that was here with you? >> Yeah, the one that brought me back. >> Um, and she needs that for school, right? >> Yeah, she has a spare backpack, but that one has all like has all her stuff in it right now. You'd be allowed just to bring it by >> where? Hold on. Here. He doesn't have to stay or >> have it drop it off at CFD if he doesn't. It doesn't have to be necessarily. It's right there on Farmington. >> Farmington, >> right up past the library. >> Okay. I know you guys have Where are you guys? Give him I'll give you >> So, it's the one just up the hill next to the horse ranch. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Yeah. Just have them drop it off there. >> I can do that. >> Okay. That would be better. That way we can just get your shoes. You haven't. I know. I lost. >> You guys got your stuff? >> No, we're having So we're just having to stay the night with you guys. >> Yep. You're going to stay the night over here. Just grab your bag and you can put it. Your brother's in the car already. Okay. >> Yep. And the thing is we will be back home tomorrow. >> Just depends. Okay. >> Depends. That's >> possible. I came out myself. >> That's okay. >> Just that for the night. That's okay. >> It'll be okay. You guys, give me just a second. >> By the time we come back, guys, as soon as we have to get a ticket to the festival, we need to get brought back so I can take the suitcase and everything else with me. >> That's okay. We'll worry about tonight. As long as you have stuff for the evening, we'll be good to go. Okay. >> Yeah. Yep. And >> it's not like they're taking us to just in trouble. >> Yeah, you guys are not in trouble. >> I hope Yeah. I hope we'll be able to actually come back home. >> Yeah, kids. They're not taking us >> and actually making a school. >> Oh, yeah. You guys will go to school. >> Yep. And that's let's say and let's say it's actually a spirit week. So I hope you have an apron over at CFD cuz I do what? Barbecue death. It's like on Wednesday there's like a spirit week going on in my school. Wednesday it's like barbecue dad versus a soccer mom. There's like a soccer player or like a dad cooking like a barbecue. I want to do that. So yeah, I on like an apron or something. >> Perfect. Let's see what we got. >> Yeah. Like I don't care if it's like a green apron, a blue apron, a black apron. >> Just an apron. Apron. >> It's just like any apron. Just like any apron. just like dip. >> Okay. >> I just hope I just hope we can get these dogs taken care of. >> Yeah. >> Well, let's get you in the vehicle. It's cold. >> I think your brother's in there already. Ready to go, >> brother? >> Yep. He's all ready to go. Yeah. She's looking for a jacket for him. >> Oh, perfect. Your brother. Okay. You get along. >> Kaylin, you might want to sit in the middle. >> Yeah. Or maybe I can one in the front. We got lots of seats. >> They're going to squish. I have lots of kids that do that. Thank you. >> Yes. Thank you. >> Yeah. No problem. >> Yeah. >> Are you guys okay? I was going to say if not >> you guys are getting pizza. >> I have a coworker. She's got pizza. >> Yeah. I was like, I'll we'll go. >> I think that's all we need. >> Were you able to find a jacket for him? >> I did, but it's in the dryer. Can I bring it by when I drop off her backpack? >> Yeah, you can probably be you should be able to do that here pretty soon. >> At the same time, the mother [music] was handcuffed and taken away. I have somewhere in my pocket. >> Oh, she said you had a card. >> I do. Yeah. I'm trying to find it. I have everything in the in the 40 pockets. >> Yeah. >> All right. How do you put your hands behind your back? >> Okay. So, you're under arrest right now. It's going to be for Okay. >> I didn't say that. I'll pick it up here in a second. >> So, we'll get that. Can I have your other hand? How am I supposed to get all this stuff? >> So, they're going to arrange. >> Do I need to take the jacket off? >> No, you're fine. You're fine. >> We're also calling in control for the dogs. >> It doesn't mean that they're going to just like you said, they'll be at least a hole to say that you're >> good for the dogs. >> Okay. Can you let go of your your fingers? I need to adjust these cuffs. >> Okay. It's still >> incar. >> Okay. All right. Do you have anything on you that you need to take off? Yeah. We're going to go stand in front of the unit over here so we think you guys through. Okay. >> Like I said, do you have anything on you that's going to your phone? >> Do you have um anything on you that >> can't be introduced to the jail? >> I'll make sure that far. >> What is this in your pocket? Is that like a card? >> It's my ID. Your ID? Okay. Okay. Separate your feet for me again. >> Yeah. This side. All right. I'm going to have you sit on the passenger seat side over there. Okay. Watch your head. Don't go too far cuz I'm going to have to buckle you in on this side. >> The 40-year-old mother was arrested and held [music] at the San Juan County Detention Center on three counts of secondderee felony child under New Mexico statute 30-6-1. Each charge carries up to 9 years in prison and a $10,000 [music] fine. However, the charges were dismissed for lack of evidence with no bail set while the case remains under further investigation. What do you think about this ending? Should there be a psychological evaluation and [music] support for this single mother of three? Share your thoughts in the comments below. The cases in Florida and New Mexico expose not only the mother's irresponsibility, but also a bigger question. Where were we as a community when these children needed help? Could neighbors, schools, [music] or authorities have acted sooner? Each tragedy reminds us that protecting children is not just a family duty, but a shared social responsibility. [music] Florida begins again with a mother lacking sobriety, nearly a whole bottle of wine, yet [music] still confident driving her child around. >> So, the guest was saying that she was very truly intoxicated. And usually, I've seen her all the time. She sleeps just fine. On August 29th, [music] 2022, a racetrack gas station in Florida became the scene of a troubling incident involving [music] a woman driving under the influence while having her young child with her. A witness immediately called police and upon arrival, officers found the child being comforted by a teacher. Step by step, they began uncovering the truth behind the incident. So, I mean, reasonably, how she could she have gotten here without trying? I'm not I'm not worried about DUI. I'm worried about child. >> Oh, this is child all day long. >> Yeah, that's what I'm saying. >> The issue we have now is she's by herself. >> And dad is somewhere like 2 three hours away. >> Absolutely. So, I mean, how long was she in the store? I don't know because when I came out one of those ladies calling and the other one was talking to her. >> No, that's a huge issue. >> I think it's I think it's only 5 minutes. >> I'm definitely call I don't feel comfortable with her. I'm not even primary number. >> Thank you. Hey, what's up? >> Hey, are you busy? >> All right. Could you hop on my call? Head over my way, please. >> Yeah. Where you at? >> I'm at the racetrack near the Sun Coast. So, >> call. >> Yeah. So, this is probably going to be in a child that I'm probably going to go 10:15 on. We're going to have to call CPI to come take the kid because she has no one to take this kid with. >> Awesome. >> All right. >> Are you guys at the restart? Yeah, we're at the racetrack right now. >> Okay. Yeah, give me a minute. >> All right. No problem. No problem. I appreciate it. And so I just walked into a mess. So I'm here at the racetrack with uh Flutier and Terukian and Marine D. They got a call about this lady that was falling over all over the place inside of the racetrack. They get here, they do some investigating. Turns out that this lady drove here, openly admitted that she was intoxicated. Drove here with the kid to get more alcohol. And I mean, she's visibly intoxicated right now. She has no one to drop the kid off. She's admitting that she that she drove intoxicated with this kid. I'm thinking 10:15 on for child. Now, let me ask you, how do I get a hold of CPI because I've never had to do a CPI call out. He's like, "Okay, all right." So, I'm pulling a I'm pulling a case number right now. I have I have another uh dirt chip unit coming out because someone's going to have to stay with this kid if we go 10:15. So, I'm already working on that. I'm going to talk to this lady again. I mean, honestly, after what they gathered, I imagine I'm going to double check that they were just spontaneous utterances in a non-custodial interview. With that being said, >> yeah, she came from right south of 54, that that apartment complex on Fountain Side. Yeah, I'm going to I'm going to double check a couple of things with with these guys and I'm going to talk to her, you know, post Miranda and see what she has to say. All right. All right. Thank you. >> The gas station [music] employee statement further exposed the severity of the incident. to customer manager. You'll see that sadly only manager will be able to go in there and check it out and they won't be here until tomorrow morning. >> That won't be an issue. >> What did you guys were you here during the whole thing? >> I actually was. So I was taking care of the guest. It was another guest. I don't know if you saw her. her hair, but she was the one that came up to me and she was the one that was telling me that she was and her child looked back and he just >> So, the girl in the picture over there were talking about >> what was going on with her. >> So, the guest was saying that she was very truly intoxicated. I mean, usually I see her all the time. She seems just fine. I didn't take care of her personally when the whole incident happened cuz our credit card went down. So I was like trying to take care of that. >> Who was actually dealing with her or involved with her? >> My associate is inside but nothing seemed like really to be honest until the other side. >> Was there any like a point where she was like falling over or not standing up straight or anything that led you to believe that she was off today? >> The only thing that seemed a little off was when she was telling her that they were and she was like trying to like hold her back a little bit. >> Okay. She didn't fall over or something or anything like that. >> That was that just seemed a little off for me cuz I always like see her all the time. >> That's why I was like I didn't know if they'd be available. >> Okay. Thank you. >> To keep the investigation on track, police had to carefully deliver it before taking action. >> But yeah, no, I mean that's that's what still doesn't change much. This lady is admitting to drinking notably. I just want so I'm not to interrupt you but so the statue I read it because I was like I know there's a part here and you don't have to prove it. It's by either knowledge or admission. I don't know what she admitted to or what's going on. >> She's just so long as someone's capable. >> You know what I mean? We can prove that she was driving the car. Right. I'm sure there's a camera right there points right down to the car. And all we have to articulate is that she's under the influence >> which she's already intoxicated. She even said that she came back over here to get a glass of wine >> after she admitted to drinking over at the house. Okay. All right. And so let me ask you, you got to be true. With your experience, would you determine that she's probably under the influence of some form of >> intox? She just said we're in clear water. >> Okay. Cool. >> Unfortunately, my camera >> No, no, no. It's fine. It's fine. Again, at this point, I think we have more than enough, especially with her admitting that stuff non-custodial. >> It's disoriented. So, it's disoriented talks for what she did in the store for coming here in the car. >> They kept collecting witness statements. >> Okay. I'm going to talk to you later. Okay. I work at the >> you like a family member to her or anything. >> Give me a minute. I just need to speak to her. >> I just wanted to make sure she >> Yeah, she's okay. Have you spoken to her at all today? >> Today she just came by the office. >> Okay. >> She was waiting for herself from school. >> Okay. All right. Did she seem fine? >> Yeah, she seemed fine cuz we're transferring her to a different unit. So, she just wanted to know her move out fees and move fees. I'll explain more in a little bit. >> What's her first name? >> I think that's her first right now is we're conducting criminal investigation on her. They'll give us a little bit of time. We can't have you speaking to her. I need to speak to her. >> I'm actually >> And who's this? >> That's her father. >> That's her father. All right. Does he live locally? >> I'm not sure. >> Okay. >> And approached the [music] mother. The truth surfaced. She had drunk heavily before driving and thought it was normal. Police acted at once and [music] arrested her. >> My investigation. Okay. Okay. This is the Listen. Can I Can I go speak to her? >> I'm Deputy Garcia. >> Why are you >> Because you're not listening to me. I just explained why. I'm Deputy Garcia. Okay. You're Miss Answer my question. >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. So, I'm going to explain to you what's going on. At this point, we're conducting a lawful investigation into child. Before you start, I'm going to advise you your Miranda rights. Okay? Cuz at this point, you're tank. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have a present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning. If you wish, you can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statement. Do you understand each of these rights as I've explained them to you? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, you understand everything that I've explained to you. >> What? >> Do you understand each of these statements that I've said to you? Yes or no? >> Yes. >> Why? >> Why? What? >> He explained to you that you're detained. He has to read your >> Why am I being detained? >> I'm I'm conducting a criminal investigation into child. >> No, it's not it's not like that. >> Okay. So, what's been going on today? Because I'm going to be honest speaking to you. In the two minutes, just wait one second. In the two minutes that I'm speaking to you, it already seems like something's wrong. It seems like you're impaired to some degree. So, what's going on? >> Impaired. Give me a test because >> I'm I'm not into next to that white one. >> I'm not into I'm I don't drink. >> Are you serious? >> So, you explained to both of my deputies that you've been drinking wine at your house. >> I have been drinking Yeah. I I have been drinking wine because I'm moving moving to a different complex. >> Okay. All right. So, you've been drinking wine. How much wine have you been drinking today? >> I don't know. A bottle. Maybe >> a bottle. So, would you say that you finished that bottle prior to you driving here? >> Not really. No. >> What's not really? How much of the bottle did you finish? >> I don't know. Like 3/4 of the bottle. >> So, you finished 3/4 of a bottle of wine by yourself. And you thought it was okay. You load your kid into a car and drive them across State Road 54 at 5:30 at the end in the middle of the day when there is traffic like there's no one's business. You thought that was okay. >> Why are you talking to me like that? >> Answer my question. You thought that was okay. >> I was just trying to go back to my apartment to pack up my stuff because that's not my question. Did you think it was okay after drinking 3/4 of a bottle of wine >> at that point in time? No, I did not. >> So, you didn't think it was okay, but you still did it. >> What do you want me to say? >> But I'm trying to understand why you thought that this was okay. I know you're being recorded. >> Yeah, I know. I I know I'm being recorded. >> Okay. So, no. >> So, you didn't think it was okay, but you still did it. >> No. >> No, >> I did not do it. >> You didn't do it. So, you ended up here magically. You flew here. Your kid ended up here magically. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do me a favor. Put your hands on your back. >> I'm not playing this again. Hold that. >> Show me one to 10. Don't wipe me out. >> I didn't do anything wrong. Those are my car keys. >> Okay. >> Wow. Really? >> Lean against the car. Lean up against the car. Spread your legs. >> You want to do all of this? Lean up against the car. All right. Do you have anything on you? >> No. >> Okay. >> I didn't do anything. >> Sit in the car. >> I didn't do anything. >> Sit in the car. >> All right. Now that we got that out of the way, we can work on a couple. >> The child was immediately placed with a grandfather trusted to ensure the child's safety. >> Hello, sir. Hi, I'm Deputy Garcia. I didn't catch your name. >> Nice to meet you. >> Nice to meet you, sir. >> Okay. So, how much of my partner explain to you what's going on? Do you understand what's going on at this point? >> Kind of figured out cuz I already got a while ago to DWI. He hasn't really told me anything what happened, but I >> can explain to you what's going on. >> Y >> So, she's going to be arrested for child because she drove the kid here while she was drunk as well as disorderly intoxication. Okay. >> So, with that being said, with that being said, would you be would you be willing to watch over the kid for the time being? Okay. So what my partner's doing right now is essentially background check just to make sure that we would be allowed to release them which you you saw me you told me a couple of DVWI if that's it I don't foresee it being any other issue >> 2010 and 2015 I don't see that being for the whole time >> I have the 27s in the call now >> okay did uh they come back and say that he's good >> waiting on the phone call >> okay apparently >> I don't know that >> neither did I >> yeah you are how did you end up here did she just tell you that she was here >> told the neighbor her that she needed a ride. Okay. >> So, I figured I was off from work. I was like, "Okay, the gas station's right there." >> I didn't I didn't know any of this. >> So, just to put your mind at ease. Hello, Eddie. She's being placed under arrest for a couple of charges. Kids going with grandpa. That's where we're going for now. Okay. >> If you have any questions, you can call in and request to speak. We have Garcia. All right. >> All right. Thanks. >> Yes, ma'am. >> The mother was arrested and held at the local jail on charges of child neg and disorderly intoxication. According to the court's ruling, she was sentenced to two months of probation along with a $4,200 [music] fine. Children always mirror their parents' behavior. Growing up with a mother who fails to put their safety first, they can develop a distorted sense of right [music] and wrong, which may lead them to repeat the same mistakes in adulthood. After everything that happened, there are no clear winners. Only the adults face [music] legal consequences while the children carry the memories. From police stations and stores to parking lots and familiar [music] homes, the common thread is the moment when adults let emotions take over responsibility. The law is not meant to punish feelings, but it must [music] step in when emotions put others, especially children, at risk.
