No flushing. >> 238. >> Is it okay if I wash my hands now? >> You can wash your hands. Just don't rinse your mouth out. Well, since I got brought here and nobody bother to ask me, so I I'm not going to get asked for any medical attention or nothing. >> They checked you out on scene. >> When am I going to know something? Do we know? >> I will be I will be in here shortly. Okay. There's some things I have to get ready. Okay. >> Can I get my ponytail back or is that like a thing where you can't? >> Yeah, I can't give it to you. I'm sorry. >> Unexpectedly, a friend of the mother showed up. Ironically, among everyone there, only one stranger seemed to care if she was okay. Hello. Hi. So, you're here about Courtney? Okay. I'm at no liberty to discuss. It's an ongoing investigation. I can't really discuss what's going to >> what's going I >> Yeah. >> I just didn't know if she wanted me to come up here. I wasn't I just got a little bit of information. >> I will say this. If she is released, I will let her have a phone call. >> Okay. I She She said her phone's at 1% and I was going to give her my cell phone number. >> Okay. I can take that down. All right. If uh she is released, then um I'll let her give you a call on our phone. If you don't hear anything, you will not need to come pick her up. >> If um she is released, well, do you have any estimated time or could it be in the middle of the night? >> No, ma'am. >> Yeah. >> So, if if it'll it'll probably be a few hours. >> Okay. >> If that like I said, that's that's a big if with the investigation. >> I don't know what happened. And all I know is that the girls that is my biggest concern and like a sister. >> Yes, ma'am. I understand. >> I understand. I understand. All right. >> Thank you very much. >> Immediately after the police continued their legal procedures. >> Are you willing to consent to blood and urine? >> To what? >> Blood and urine draw. >> I guess. But for what? >> For the DUI. For what? You're being arrested. >> I mean, I just want I don't know if I'd be able to be again, but I'm blood. So, you are consenting to blood in your >> leaving or what's going on? Does anybody hear anything about my kid? >> I haven't heard anything yet, but once I still have officers that are on scene, some at the hospital, we're going to figure that out. Okay. So, you are consenting to blood in your straw. >> Yeah. Whatever it takes. I need to go to my >> I'm not trying to interrupt your interview. If I sign a If I type up a consent form giving your mother consent to go see your daughter at Cardinal Glennon, would you sign it? >> Yes. Yes. Yes. >> I will do that real quick and bring it into you in just a moment. >> The grandmother suddenly appeared demanding to sign medical decisions for the kids. In one evening, the mother's impulsiveness had thrown everything out of control. >> How about um Kiana? >> That's what I >> Do you not know yet? You haven't heard anything? >> No, I just know that she was thrown to St. Louis. >> How do you spell your first name? T A M M Y. >> I'm going to type up a consent for you to make medical decisions. Okay. It's just going to be a typed up piece of paper. I'm going to give it to Courtney. She said she would sign it. I'll have her sign it and then I'll give it to you. That's that's where we're going to go from here because we don't actually have any like POA paper. You'd actually have to do that through an attorney. This is just Cardinal Glennon needs her to give you permission to go make decisions for her. Okay. >> All right. Give me just a moment. >> All right. Thank you. >> Courtney, you can just go back in there and take a seat. I'll be right back with you. You're still willing to consent to the breathalyzer. Then we will do that here shortly. I just have to get uh the officer that's trained in it to come do it. And then you're still willing to get sent to blood and we will go to the hospital so we can get that. >> Can I get this like going as fast as possible? >> Due to the severity of this issue, I understand, but there's a lot that we have to do. >> Can I get a drink of water or something, please? Not until after the uh breathalyzer. Okay. >> This is going to be for you. Okay. >> Mhm. >> You want to go ahead and sign it and then I'll make a copy of it for our records. Let me make a copy real quick and then I'll give this to you and then this will allow you to take temporary guardianship while she's going through this process. >> Is there anything you can tell me about her? I know she's being arrested and she won't shut you see a judge. >> She will most likely have to see a judge before she gets released. I'm I'm not going to promise you anything, but if she does get released tonight, I will be talking to the state's attorney tonight to find out if she's going to be detained or not on the charges that we do have. Unfortunately, it's something that she has to tell you. I can't disclose that information. Okay? I wish I could, but I can't. Especially when your grandbabies are involved, you know, >> as the legal procedures were winding down, a breathalyzer was brought out. >> Go right over to this. >> All right, ma'am. So, this is the breathalyzer test. Do you wish to blow in this machine? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, what you're going to do, you're going to put your lips around this piece, make a tight seal, and blow. Take a deep breath and blow as hard as you can, but steady. Okay? And there'll be a bar on here until until you hear it click. Okay? Just take a deep breath and then blow in there slow and steady for until it tells you to stop. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. There you go. >> Going to hang this up just so they >> love you, Mom. >> I love you, too, Courtney. >> Tell I love her. >> Go ahead and hang yourself. >> What's going on? >> All right, Mike. Well, it keeps getting bigger. I mean, I just need to make sure that >> Can you move it? >> Yeah, I can move it, but it hurts really bad. I mean, I know it's not broken, but >> your toes. You got a good strong pulse in there. You walked in here on it, right? >> Yeah. >> You got bruising there. >> Careful. >> You can move it up and down. >> Mhm. Yeah. >> I don't have X-ray vision, so I can't tell you if it's if it's fractured or not. >> Um, I mean, with it swelling like that and there being bruising, there's obviously an injury there, but it could be muscular. doesn't mean it's fractured. But I like I said, I can't guarantee it that it's fractured or that it's not fractured. >> I'm limping on go back and forth to the bathroom. I mean, I know it's not getting bigger. That's what I was >> concerned about. Yeah. I mean, it's at the very least it's definitely sprain outside of that. I mean, that's really kind of up to you what you would want to do. I I can't tell you. I I mean, I don't even know how to read an X-ray to be honest with you. Even if I could x-ray it, I can't tell you if it's if it's fracture or not. >> Obviously, it's not normal to be swollen and bruised like that. Right. >> Again, you were driving and it's probably where you were trying to stop yourself or where you were bracing. >> No, it wasn't until I'm done with all these charges. Yeah. I was just concerned that it keeps getting bigger. >> Yeah. I mean, there's just without an X-ray, there's nothing we can do other than I mean, stabilize it. It's plent, but then you're not going to be able to walk on it. So, >> thank you. >> Courtney was charged with aggravated DUI causing injuries. Class 4 felony, aggravated battery or aggravated DUI, no insurance, class 4 felony, two counts of injuring the health and well-being of a child, class three felony, as well as violations for improper lane usage, expired registration, and failure to secure a child under eight in a proper restraint. Under Minnesota law, she could face up to 30 years in prison, $40,000 in fines, and bail up to $100,000 depending on the judge's decision. >> Okay, Courtney.
