I have PTSD from him from before. >> What's causing more and more teens to feel anxious and stressed? They face parents like this every day. >> Grab the child by the arm. >> That's my baby. >> Stretch it out like it's a chicken. >> You got sometimes what happens behind closed family doors is more concerning than anything outside. He was leaning over me like this in my face, like an inch away, uneven, just failing at me. >> Behind a family's closed door lies a cycle of tension, disagreements, and longlasting emotional strain. On June 5th, 2025, authorities received an urgent call about a family dispute in a residential area. Upon arrival, they found the father waiting outside and began investigating the situation. >> It's going to roll away now. The female is yelling. Something's trying to go to another room. We do have prior for domestics as well as batteries here. >> Yes, they're fighting right now. >> Thank you. >> My daughter self-defense. >> And then my dad just went out in the garage. >> This is over. >> No, this is not >> Can you Do you have your camera? >> This is my mom. >> We got home. We own a restaurant. >> Okay. We had some incidents with our 20-year-old daughter. We came home today. >> Is sorry, is my other partner inside with her? >> No, no one's here except you. You're the first one on the scene that approached me. This patrol off, you know, officer just, you know, came down right now. My wife is inside. My 20-year-old daughter is inside and my 12-year-old son is inside. >> So, what happened? >> We had problems since yesterday. My 12-year-old daughter disrespected me, called me [ __ ] father. She continued at today. She's calling me drunk. This and this. We had like a family disagreement, you know. I never did anything to her. I never even put my hand on her as you see my face. She started me and me. Open fist, closed fist. 20-year-old daughter. I never laid a finger on her. There's nothing. >> Do you mind? I'm sorry. Do you mind if I get a picture real quick? So, after you told her not to disrespect you, disrespect me. I'm like, this is what it is. you don't like anything. She's 20. So I told her, if you're going to disrespect me, I kind of told I'm like, get the hell out. I'm like, you ain't going to disres disrespect me in my home. And then it was andes and everything else. And I already know, don't touch a female or nothing. I was like this. And I told her, I'm like, get out. I'm like, get out. And she kept laying it on me. I didn't even touch her. >> They went inside and spoke with the children, gathering information about what had happened. >> I am 19 years old, almost turning 20. This is my brother. They just came home. I got woken up by him knocking on my door and he's saying that she was driving the car. They're both drunk. Goes over my car in the driveway. And I'm like, "Is everything okay going downstairs?" And he's like, "Yeah, it's fine." But they're both drunk. I'm like, "Don't do that. He's in the car. He's scared to cuz he's only 11 years old." And now he's coming in my face, yelling at me, calling me a and all this stuff. And he's yelling my face. So I him and him because he's in my face screaming at me. Is this recorded? >> Yeah. I was and I'm very scared. >> Okay. >> I'm just >> She was yelling in her face and nervous to face. She used self-defense on my dad because >> you >> No. Uh my me. So she him and now he's he's on a cop. >> So he's out in the garage right now. >> If you do a breath, he won't pass it. >> I drove and I'm fine to drive and you're not driving. >> We got home and I'm fine. I'm ready for bed. So That's that. >> Who are you? Who are you on the phone with? >> My boyfriend. >> Okay, >> let me talk to your dad. Are you guys okay up here? >> Everything is going. >> It's overexaggerated though. >> It's not. >> It's not. >> I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm ready for bed. I'm just waiting to manipulate your child. >> There's nothing. >> How about you guys stay in your room for right now? I'm going to talk to your mom and I'm going to talk to your dad. >> Mom, come here. You're going to play that game. >> Shut up. >> You're going to play that game. The CPS game. >> It's true. >> I'm ready for bed. >> Officials also spoke with a mother. Initial observations suggested she was not fully aware of the situation. >> He just got home and I'm fine to drive. >> I can already tell. I'm not worried about that, but I can tell you drinking. >> I've been drinking, but I'm fine better than him. I know that I've gotten fine and that's that. But they're overexaggerated. This has been been like the first time. This has have been the second time and they like to overexaggerate and that's >> where where are you guys coming from? >> In Alburn. >> Yeah, >> like Schmidz or something. >> Oh, Edels. Cuz we own Eddie. So I know my limit and he is over the limit and I've have drove home. They just like the over limit. >> So this all did this all start because there she's mad that you guys came home and she about the drinking? >> Yeah. per at the same time like I know that I am fine to drive and at the same time like she likes over overexaggerate she manipulates my son. >> Do they want to go see the kids? They're >> upstairs everything is over again. I just I just had him go up there in the room so I can get >> I'm not I'm not going to >> I'm the mom. Okay. I'm the mom. Dad's outside. Yeah. >> But I'm not going to overexaggerate stuff because that's what they do. >> I'm going to go upstairs. How are you? >> I'm 13 years old. >> I am. >> Who else is up here? >> Just us two. >> Just you two. Okay. >> On the phone with my boyfriend. The case became more complex as factors such as mental well-being, stress, and past conflicts emerged, prompting officials to act carefully to ensure everyone's safety. >> What I'm asking is, are you looking to get her arrested? >> Yes. >> She needs to learn the lesson. She does. I pay for her car insurance. I pay for her school. I might not be the perfect father. >> Mom said she drove and mom seemed worse than him. I'm just saying it's I'm not looking at that anyways. I know. I see why she might have been upset in a way to do that. >> No, watch out. >> You know what I mean? >> She's up there with us with >> everything is over. >> Here, I'm going to tell you, >> but he's all You want to talk to her in there for me? >> He Yeah, he wants to talk to I'm talking to my supervisor real quick. >> They shouldn't have drove home drunk. >> That's why she's mad. She didn't need to get He's all His face is all tore up. my husband and her, my daughter, they had an issue, you know, so we've been having issues with her since she was since she turned 18. >> You have a light if we can turn on. >> Yeah, it's right here. >> Okay. What did you tell my uh supervisor? >> I was sleeping here. I got home from my boyfriend's house. My brother right here knocking in distress and crying and being scared saying that he almost got an accident and that they almost my car. They went over a curb and they're all drunk driving. He's scared. So I go downstairs into alcohol. >> She was in Texas. >> I go downstairs into the garage and I say, "Hey, is everyone okay? Like I heard what happened. Everything's fine. It's fine." And I'm like, "Okay, but it's still not okay to drive intoxicated with your son in the car." They just kind of brushed it off and I go back upstairs and I just try going back to sleep. My dad comes back up trying to put Damian back to sleep, but then he follows me into the room and trying to justify himself saying that. And he's leaning over my bed and just yelling at me. I don't know. I just I called him a shitty father because you don't do that to your son driving like that and making him so scared. That's trauma to do like to a child like you don't do that. >> She has audio recordings of me. >> I have like ton from all the way in the past. >> She also used self-defense as my dad at my dad. I think it was proper to do that because she was in his face multiple her in her face multiple times. He was saying oh like showing the oh cops and stuff and I'm like what? I'm like dude stop. It's not proper to do that. Stop. It's your daughter and are you doing this to your daughter except you could calm her down and not be drunk driving me home and stuff and we almost got in a crash and we almost totaled her car and my mom and dad's car. >> Can you explain when your dad was leaning over you? Could you lay down and show us how you were and show us how he was? >> I was just sitting here. He was leaning over me like this in my face like an inch away. not even just yelling at me. I have PTSD from him from before. You can even look it up. I bet there's records. He's gotten a DUI and he's had an ankle monitor on for like a year before. He's put his hands on me. Even if he says it or not because he literally did. He told me, "I've never put your hands on you. He's me before. Put his hands on me." So, I get PTSD. So, when he's that close to my face yelling, of course, I had him three times and punched him in the face. I've never done anything like that to anyone. So, it's kind of gotten me shaken up because I don't I'm not that type of person to be doing that. >> We'll be back. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> You guys get up here. >> Can we walk right down the hall here and talk? >> Oh, yeah. Of course. Right. >> Do you mind if I have a smoke that I left on? >> No. Go ahead. It just hurts me, you know. I'm like, I came here in ' 96. I'm Polish. I might have had some disagreements with my mom that was from Poland. I took care of her till her till she was here. She here. I might have had disagreements with my mom but I never told my mom she was a you know parent or anything like that. I wanted always to do better than my mom but I never say like that. So since yesterday she me and I would on my wife or female or anybody that's on me. One thing that I'm going to tell you. So my mom told me she said small kids small problem big kids big problem. I'm just like at one point I'm like I'm done with her. I need to teach her a lesson. You know it's like you can't disrespect your parents. We pay for stuff for you. >> The situation intensified when the mother admitted to poor judgment while driving but refused certain checks resulting in legal consequences. Her young son witnessed the events with confusion and fear, highlighting the emotional impact of unsafe choices within the family. >> She does pretty good off the leash, huh? >> Huh? >> She does pretty good off leash hard. But >> so you said you drove home. >> Yeah. >> I mean, you've obviously been drinking. Did you drink anything here? No. >> When you got home? >> No. >> Would you um be willing to do fields for me? >> What's that mean? >> It's for like if you're drunk driving. >> No. You admitted you drove home. Your son said that you guys almost ran into stuff. >> I just drove up the up the hill and just >> from Eddie Goodell's. >> No, >> you said that already. Yes, I drove from medic get ill, but I just >> I can tell you're extremely intoxicated. >> So, you are going to be getting arrested for DUI, >> just so you know, and possibly child endangerment. >> Okay. >> And it doesn't excuse what she did. >> But she also was scared. >> So, who's here? >> We need to finish that. >> Who's >> Because you're going to be arrested right now. >> Who's scared? >> Your daughter and your son. >> She doesn't give a [ __ ] >> Clearly, she does. I think she did the right thing. She doesn't give a [ __ ] though. But at the same time, like I I Yeah, I get it. >> You guys You You messed up. >> That That should never happen. >> I got home and I'm fine. >> You're not fine. >> I already asked about feel. She's not doing field. Finish the cigarette cuz you were going to jail. >> That doesn't make sense, >> dude. I need to put it out. >> That doesn't make sense because >> Do you hear me? Finish that. >> Okay, we're done. >> Okay. >> I I don't know. >> Okay. >> I don't understand why you don't listen. It's okay, honey. >> NO, I'M NOT. WAIT, WAIT, WAIT. NO, NO, NO. Can you sit down? >> Just sit down. Okay. No. Come here. He's going out the front. Come here. No. No. No. Buddy. Buddy. Buddy. >> Do I even know you're home like this? >> No. >> Hey. >> No. I know. It's okay. Let me talk to you. Okay. >> Can I talk to you, buddy? I'm Lieutenant Hoffman. Sure. Hey, >> I want to talk to you. >> I want to talk. These are the good guys. Okay. >> So, I want to talk to you. Can we go inside and talk real quick? >> Cuz I'm sure it's scary and I know you're scared. Okay. But you're a good kid. Okay. Let's go in with your sister and her boyfriend. Okay. >> I'm going to close this back door. Okay. >> That's fine. >> I'm oneonone right now. >> Do you have anything on me that should I have my phone >> and that's all? >> Okay. Is there anything that's going to stick me or prick me? No, I don't. I'm going to have you face it, man. I'm going to have you face the car. I'm pressing. I'm bus. Stop. >> Stop breasting on me. >> Stop it. >> You're being extra right now. It's just hanging down. >> I'm making sure you don't have anything. Okay. >> We have to do this. >> Don't want you pressing on my paws. >> All right. >> Right here. Right here. >> I'm going to buckle you in. Okay. >> Yeah. Okay. The father, although not directly causing the incident, was still held accountable for allowing the situation to occur. >> So, you want to know what's going on, I'm sure. >> Yeah, I do. That's why that's why I was saying until you guys let me know. >> So, I understand what you talked to us about with your daughter, right? Right. No one should put hands on it on anyone, right? We we all know that. That's just a rule growing up. >> Your son and your daughter confirmed that you're in her face. That's not a crime, right? I get that. >> Yeah. That's your daughter. >> We were we were having a disagreement. And that's why I said putting hands on you wasn't a right thing either. But also your wife and everyone in there as well admitted that you guys came home from Eddie Goodell. Both drunk, which you were a passenger, so I mean maybe you should have been the word of reason like we need to get a Uber or something with your son in the back. Apparently you guys almost had a bunch of stuff on the way here. No, >> she admitted. So the thing is with DUIs at home, you know, they're a little tricky. Usually people don't admit that they were out driving when they're caught up in that. your wife did immediately when I came here and she did again and she said she was the the least or she was the sober one which I think you're the sober one. She's been leaning and falling and that's my point. So there's child endangerment too with your son being in the car because that's not okay. And then the DUI part of it. >> Yeah, I get that. >> We're figuring out something for your daughter and your son for tonight. I know you're the dad. Would you be willing to let her cuz I don't want there to be more issues tonight. If she's an adult, your daughter, she can go stay with her boyfriend. Would that be okay for your son to stay with them for the night? >> No. The son is under my custody. I'm fine with my son. My daughter, she could leave. She caused all of this. I kept my hands behind my back. As a father, I love her, but I need her to learn a lesson. I want to press charges against her. This is not how you treat your father. And I hear you. And you as the husband though, this is the thing. I mean this other side of the whole story. I mean I would be I give her credit in a way for being courageous that her folks are coming home that drunk with their with her little brother. Someone was I think it was your daughter. I were an alcoholic. I will admit it to you. I was okay to drive. My wife, she was kind of like a controlling person saying I'm going to drive. I'm like okay hun. I'm like fine. You want to drive? I ain't going to argue with you because I'm not going to argue. You want to drive >> about driving drunk with your child in the car? >> No. No. She drove home. Okay, nothing happened. We pulled into here. >> That's not even parked correctly. >> That's however that's however she drove. I would have been fine driving, but my wife insisted. And you know what? My wife is like the alpha of the family because otherwise we have had arguments and I laid low, you know. So, it's my fault. I get it. >> We're going to handle this. Go ahead and turn around. You're under arrest. >> We don't want to train. >> Had plenty people tell me that. >> I understand that. And of >> it doesn't matter. Is he your son? Did you allow him to get in the car with her? >> They did. You could hurt me. >> Thanks. You >> good? >> Yep. >> The mother faces charges of DUI and child while the father is also charged with child endangerment. Under Illinois law, the mother could face up to 2 years in prison, a $3,500 fine, and other penalties. The father could face up to one year in jail, and a $2,500 fine. This is not just a family dispute. It serves as a warning about the consequences of in a stressful home environment. Poor choices can not only damage trust but also affect the emotional well-being of innocent children. >> I don't know is it looked like he had a little bit of a black eye up around here in his nose and under here. He was basically dehydrated when we got him to the house. So, he's not getting the sleep that he's supposed to get. >> This is a situation where a young child is being picked up by the father after a custody exchange. On November 11th, 2024, Everglades police intervened in a scheduled custody exchange after receiving reports of the mother's impaired behavior and disruptive actions. At the scene, officers took statements from the father while ensuring the children's safety and maintaining cal. >> She needs to be checked for alcohol. >> His court ordered that she is not allowed to drink when she has him. I didn't do anything. >> Let's make sure you're okay. Are you all okay? >> Yeah. Yeah, they're okay. >> All right. You own the truck with me. >> Your active putting that child in. >> You're operating a motor vehicle. >> 7835. >> I wasn't drinking. >> Is this the kids? >> You cannot control yourself. I'm standing right here now. You stay right there and you're going to walk off again. >> Why are you yelling at me? >> Because you're you're not able to control your actions. So, I'm going to control them for you. Okay. >> That's cuz I wanted my son. >> That is not how we do things in America. You don't grab him, drag him, cause him to almost fall off this curb with that child in his hand. That is endangerment to that child. >> That's my baby. >> Listen, I got a child, too, but I'm not going to grab the mother and drag her around. >> Joanna, last name. Is this your car? Yeah. >> It's registered to you. >> Yeah. >> You want me to walk her in? >> Huh? >> You want me to walk her in? >> Yeah. >> All right, let's go. >> Go ahead and take her. >> Why are you going to walk me in? >> You're going to jail. >> You're going to jail on for what you did. Put that child in danger like that. That's child. >> Put your Put your foot on. >> Putting my child in. >> Put your shoe on. >> I can't. >> Yeah. You're getting charged for domestic battery and child. >> What are you talking about? That's my child. >> That's my child. >> Let's go. >> What are you doing? Let me go get you a victim's right pamphlet and uh case number. >> What are you doing? >> You're going to jail >> for what? >> For exactly what he just told you. Battery and and child abuse. >> Battery and child abuse. How is that even possible when I was trying to get my baby when it was my turn to get him? >> If you don't walk, you're going to get drugged. So, I'm just letting you know. >> Get what? Drug. I don't do >> Watch your step. Can you have one of them come out and grab her? >> Grab me for what? my child. >> Don't move. You don't have anything on you. Phone, keys, money. >> I have nothing but love for >> any kind of weapon on you or anything. >> I came to pick my son up. >> Okay. I'm just asking you cuz if you bring anything inside here, it's a charge. >> Well, that's great. I came here to pick my son up. What I did? >> I'll be in in a second. Okay. The father shared the court's ruling and expressed concern about the child being with the mother, emphasizing the importance of parents understanding and meeting their children's basic needs. >> My wife said she can smell alcohol on her and when I got close enough when she was trying to take the son, I can smell it. Our court paperwork says that neither of us are supposed to drink or do and if she can be tested, that would be awesome because >> depending on whatever the court paperwork says is how they'll do it. >> I can't force her to. You can't force her to. You know, >> you know what I mean? >> No, I know. So, >> I just it's we just started a our 50/50 where she gets them for a week, we get them for a week. It was a two-day we get them back on one. Our whole thing was to keep him safe. >> How this whole thing started was I was giving him a hug by before I gave him to her. He was holding right on me. So, I was hugging him. She like, "All right, give me my son." I said, "Hold on." I said, "I'm still hugging." No, you're done. Your time's up. That's fine. I said, "Oh, got till 6:00. That's when the you know, I can hold till 6 if I want to. That's when the time to switch. And then that's when she just I told her I said, "Go back over to your car." I said, "Bring him over there." And she just kept going, going, going about it. And then she come over there and started trying grabbing a hold of my arm, pulling on me, trying to get him. >> As soon as you started doing that, we saw it. >> No, I I appreciate it. I'm not gaz too. So >> that's why. >> Did he get your phone number? >> No, sir. I'm going to need your phone number. That's why I put this spot as our drop off because I can't trust her. I tell people this is she lies to think she can't tell the truth and her life depended on it. >> What's your first one now? What do I need to do? I've not been in this until just recently. She's kept him. Wouldn't hardly ever let me have them for the first part of his life. And so we finally ended up getting them because she was all crazy and everything, you know, acting and everything. We ended up taking her to the hospital. We kept them. We have had them for the past 6 months until it was court ordered that you know what the visitation stuff was. Do I need to notify the court or do anything with this whole situation? >> Court date. The court's going to be aware cuz we got to send more paperwork. >> All right. So, we don't we don't give him to her until after. >> You got to get in touch with whatever it says on paper. Okay. I'll >> If it's 50/50, it's 50/50. Right. >> Right. Right. It is. But depending on what he's going to say right here is how we'll go about doing it because he going to tell you exactly what you should do. >> Y'all constantly have problems like this on top exchange or what? No, we've been doing we just started the first actual 50/50 where she had them for 5 days. >> Court ordered or y'all? >> Just ordered. She we had where she had them for a couple days here and there just to get broke into it and then this is the first time when we got him back the last time she kept trying to call and check on him because it and I don't know is it looked like he had a little bit of a black eye up around here in his nose and under here. I took a picture of it but it was hard to make it out and for 2 days she tried to call and check up on him seeing if he was all right. He was basically dehydrated when we got him to the house cuz he got in the truck and he said, "I'm thirsty." So we we just live in Little Farm. So we went home, he got stuff to drink. He was exhausted and he fell asleep by 6:40 that night and woke up for a few minutes few hours later and then slept for the rest of the time for another 12. He slept for 12 hours total. So he's not getting the sleep that he's supposed to get. And if he doesn't go to the bathroom before he goes to bed, chances are he's going to have an accident. And he didn't go to the bathroom until the next morning after he woke up. So he was definitely lacking fluids. But yeah, this is the first time that we >> What was the deal about tonight? We was kind of listening to what was going on, but >> I took him out of his thing and she walked right over here was standing here behind me. He was holding right on to me tight. So while he was holding on to me, I was going to make sure I comforted him, gave him a good hug and everything. So I was and all of a sudden she goes, "Your time's up. It's my time. Give me my son." And I said, "No." I said, "I have, you know, I'm still hugging him." And she started in going. She go, "No, you need to give me my son." >> He has till 6:00. And we >> 6:00 is our time. And we don't rush her. If she wants to hug him or whatever, spend time with us. just trying to say goodbye to it. I mean, we heard her yelling, "Give me my son. Give me my son." And then all of a sudden, she grabbed you and the kid. >> Is she a drinker or what? >> Yes, I know that from >> I mean, I can smell alcohol. >> I didn't know her to to drink a lot before, >> but where she was living at before, her landlord told me why she had gotten where she's not allowed back there, why she had to move. It was because she went to a party and she got drunk and she was hitting on the landlord when he was taking her home and hanging out the window of the vehicle and everything else. >> Trying to get full custody. That's why we brought everything there. There was a DCF case and everything, but because there wasn't hard evidence on anything. Unfortunately, it ended up being 5050. >> But in all of our court, >> there have been domestic between you two in the past. Everyone, she never went to jail. She picked something up when she was living at my house and threw it at me. >> Okay. Never reported or anything. >> Never. I made up I did a plea court on that point, but >> but that was 4 years ago. The mother's history of conflict and past struggles was revealed. Police stated they would report to DCF if any unsafe situations occurred in front of the children, serving as a reminder of safety and legal responsibilities in parenting. >> Jones is my deputy here, but I'm going to go ahead and do the case. So, is this the only child you have with her? >> Yes, sir. >> Are they your child? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Where were you at? >> She was in >> I noticed it was getting I ran over there to visit the emergency phone. you was here the whole time that she was arguing and >> fighting that was happening. So I ran up to go get someone on the phone cuz I I could smell alcohol and I knew it was going to get bad. >> We were sitting there listening to it but we're like it's just arguing for the time being but then when it become physicals when we come on over here on you and grabbing you >> um it's domestic battery whether you're married or not. You have a child in common. It'll forever ever be domestic. So, what's going to happen is I'm going to have to send a copy to DCF and they will be included too because the was taking place in front of them and in their presence. Not that anything's going to come of it or bad of it. Likely what'll happen, maybe a DCF worker will come just talk to them, make sure everything's okay. I don't see any major works on that one. Um, but not that you're going to be under investigation by DCF or anything. It's just something we have to do when occurs in front of the children. On top of that, there'll be a uh court order against her, probably not to come within so many feet of you. Being you do have a child together, there'll be some different type stipulation in there, right? >> And she'll have to abide by whatever the judge imposes on her. Okay? So, if if things get out of control and she's not abiding by, let's just say noful contact and something like this takes place again, well, that'sful contact. it it's not necessarily always your choice cuz a lot of times in in partnered relationships or having a child, they're like, "Oh, I don't really want Well, >> I'm perfectly fine with that. I I really am." >> So later on there'll be state attorney hearings both of you is going to need to come talk to the state attorney on even if the children come. Um >> Yeah. No, that's fine. Is she going to be tested for alcohol? >> No, but I mean I'm going to indicate that I smelled a profound >> because odor of an alcohol paperwork. We're not allowed to drink and I don't drink, but we're not allowed to drink around when we have him. >> So, she showed up here drunk to get him. >> And I mean, I'm going to indicate all that. >> That's childment right there. >> Oh, yeah. >> And that that's one reason why I don't want him going with her because I can't trust that he's safe. >> I will be in contact with y'all about the state attorney hearing. Okay. >> Okay. >> All right. Y'all have a good night. >> Yes, sir. >> The mother continued to insist she had done nothing wrong even though her behavior carried potential risks and raised serious safety concerns. >> Come on down here with me real quick. Go ahead. Have a seat. >> Right out of my arms. >> Have a seat right here. >> Right out of my arm. Right out of my arms for no reason at all. >> Of course, we're going to I'm the one out there who's dealing with that. So, what I'm going to do is since you're in custody, you're inside the jail. I'm going to read you what's called Miranda. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say, he could be held against you in court. You understand your rights? >> Yes, sir. >> What was that whole deal about out there? >> I went to go pick my son up. He said that he was not going to give them to me. That he did not have to give them to me until it was the time exactly that I needed to go back to my car. And then he struck him out of my hands and then I went to go grab him. >> You think that's the best interest of that child to pull along it that way? >> I think that it was my time and that we were going to do that and then he thought that maybe No, I don't think that was the best time. >> What happened? What happened? What happened if that daddy fell that child's head on the side that car? What? >> And that would hurt my baby. >> But it would have been all all been caused by your actions. It would be caused by my actions that it was my time to come pick my child up and he took him out of my hands. >> What time What time is the child exchange? >> Um, exactly at Give me a second. Jeez. Um, 6:00. >> Do you remember what time it was? >> It was like 6 or 5:50. >> So, it's fair to say it was not 6:00 yet. >> It was not 6:00 yet, but he had came early. We always come early. >> But he said the boy was giving him loves, telling him goodbye. He was not giving him love. >> I seen the child was wrapped around his neck. I was sitting right there. >> He was going to be wrapped around my neck. >> But at that time when y'all was in the midst of your arguing, >> I get it. He was wrapped around his neck. But what about when he was going to be wrapped around my neck? >> But it wasn't time for it to take place. >> Okay, I get it. But I'm the one that raised him all the way until 5 6 months old by myself when he kicked us out cuz he couldn't handle it. >> Does that make him any less of a father? >> You darn right it does. Now he's got a wife and he wants to be back. You dog right it does. >> But does that make it right for you? It does make it right. >> They made it right for you to do what you did >> to grab my sonically remove him. You had his arm stretched out pulling on that child. >> First of all, negative. I would never hurt my child. >> There's video of it. >> I don't hurt my child. I would not >> but inadvertently you would. >> I would not hurt my child. >> Not intentionally. Probably. Not intentionally nor. That's my child that I raised since birth. >> But your actions >> My actions did nothing but try to get my child in my custody away from somebody that was being vindictive. >> She said she just wanted to pick up her child on her own schedule and felt the streetside exchange made things difficult to manage. >> Uh, how you had a drink tonight? >> I haven't had anything to drink tonight. Now, would you stop with that? Can I please ask you a question? I need you to just give me my child back and quit. No, your child went with him. >> Yeah, I know. But why? It was my turn. >> Cuz you're under arrest. >> And why is that? >> For battery on him. The male. >> I didn't touch him. >> And then the child, you're getting charged for you pulled on your child's arm >> to get him out of his hands cuz he was being crazy. >> And when the father stumbled off the curb of you pulling so vigorously, >> I couldn't even feel anything on the curb. >> I know. I watched. >> That's not fair. How can I do anything on a curb? >> I don't know. You was dragging him toward your car. >> Dragging him towards my car. I couldn't even do anything on a curb. >> There is a curb off the sidewalk. >> Yeah, that's what I'm saying. There's no way I could do anything on a curb. >> The father holding the child like this because >> obviously I can't do anything on a curb. I'm saying there's no way I can grab a child or grab a father on a curb. It's a curve. There's no way possible. It's a curve. If you tried to grab anyone on the curve, you're going to fall right or left. >> Right. So when you >> Why would you do that? >> I don't know why you did that. >> Because I was trying to hold myself up. I was trying to hold myself upright. >> Okay. Is it because of the intoxication? >> There is no intoxication. I was trying to hold myself upright >> for what? >> To get my baby in my custody. >> But you can't pull on your child like that. >> Honey, I went to bring him to me. I went to bring my child to me. >> I understand what you're saying. >> No, you're not. >> But what I've seen, that's not a norm. >> What you might have seen is untrue because I'm trying to tell you exactly what happened. And I can tell you piece by piece, brief by brief, minute by minute, second by second, exactly everything that happened with my child. >> How long do you think I was standing there listening to all that go along? >> The whole time? >> Sure. I was. And I was fine with the arguing. That's fine. You can argue all you want. >> Okay. What did I do except try to grab my baby and then I couldn't because of the curb. It was the curb. No, there was >> grabbing on the baby's father. You're supposed >> There was nothing because of the curb. I went to grab my baby and the curb went like that. >> So, where you parked? This was your car. This is his to me. I I've seen it all. >> No way. >> You're over here yelling and screaming to begin with. >> There's no way. I >> Then you go after him on the other side of his truck. After him. >> Yes. You start grabbing on the father started walking over there >> supposed to give me my baby and he was giving him to me because it was that time and he said that he said okay >> no he said he was waiting because his son was hugging him grasping him tightly don't try that and it was not it was not try the monkey jazz monkey don't try the monkey jazz don't try the monkey jazz >> I'm not here to jazz you at all >> I said give me my baby it's time and He said, "It ain't time for him." I said, "Well, give him my baby." And then he went like this and then pulled him back and I said, "Give him my baby." And that was what happened. >> Okay. >> There is no child abuse. There's no nothing. It is what it is. There was a curve right there which made it very very very hard to be able to maneuver either one of us to where it looked like it was even any way shape or form where it would be because we'd be at some type of angle each one of us where we could be like going like this at the time yet it wasn't my time yet. You're right. You're right. You're right. I'm wrong. You're absolutely right. >> Unfortunately that's but that's not how we do but that's not how we do business. >> You're right. It was not my time. It was not my time, but he was giving them to me and I we always come 20 to 30 minutes early. Okay. And I understand that you don't understand that I was just coming to get my baby and what happened was what happened. And because we were on a curb, it looked like I was grabbing my child. >> Police temporarily detained the mother. She became emotional, believing she was only trying to fulfill her responsibilities as a parent. >> If you wanted five more minutes with that child, what would it have you? It wouldn't have >> sat there and been civil and said, "Okay, >> I was civil, darling. >> I listened to the whole thing. He was not raising his voice. He was the one constantly yelling and screaming, "Give me my baby. I'm the one that raised the baby." I know you was. You said, "I'm the one that raised the baby for five whole months. That you was not around. That's my baby. Give me my baby." And when he said it was time for him to give me my baby girl, >> he just said it wasn't. It still was not. >> Then why was HE TRYING TO HAND THEM to me? He kept >> I never saw him try to hand them to you. >> Well, let's review it then. >> I will. But I will. >> Well, let's review it cuz he did and then he stopped. And he did and he stopped cuz I remember trying to do it. >> Well, that's not how we do things. We don't We don't understand. >> We don't We don't grab the child by the arm. >> That's my baby. >> Stretch it out like it's a chicken. >> That's my child. >> I understand it's your child, but your emotions got the best of you. >> My emotions have nothing to do with my child and stretching it out like a chicken. I've had that chicken in my belly since birth. There's no way we're going to be stretching out anything that's with my child with this man that came and decided to be a dad at 6 months old or a year and 6 months when he had a wife and then now all of a sudden he wants to be Mr. Let's do this and that. >> He wants to be >> No, sir. That's great. And I'm very very very grateful for that. But that don't mean he can go and do this kind of monkey. He didn't do nothing. >> He didn't do nothing. >> He was telling the baby bye. >> Oh, >> he was consoling the baby. >> Oh, he was consoling my baby. He was cons. It says baby, too. >> He was consulting my baby that he kept trying to give to me. He was doing like this to me. He went like this to me and I went to go grab him. >> Yeah. Your car was towed by um Total Road Tide. >> Okay, that's great. Why' you do that? >> Because I I can't have it parked out there and you're under arrest. >> Why am I under arrest? Because my child >> under arrest for battery against the father and >> battery. >> Yes. By pulling on both of them. And it battery is any un any any any unwanted touch. >> Any unwanted touch. >> If you reached in to grab that child and you touched him, that's battery. >> Are you insane? >> No, ma'am. Body. >> I went to get my baby cuz it was time for me to take my baby. >> You don't physically remove things. You're trying to tell me because I went to take my baby when it was time for me to take my baby. You're you're >> Yes. >> You're arresting me? >> Yes. >> Wow. >> Yes. Um so it's battery on him. >> Wow. >> And that's domestic. And there's going to be it's either going to be child or or child of not >> for the child. >> For my baby. >> Yes. Replacing. >> You're going to do what with my baby? >> Replacing the child in the end situation he was in. >> What are you talking about? >> By pulling on him. him the way you pulled on him. >> Pulling on my child to get him towards me while it was time. >> We don't do that. You'll get a bond tomorrow morning when you see the judge. >> The what? >> Yeah, it's domestic. I can't set a bond for you. >> Oh my goodness. >> Yeah. So, um, what's your address? >> I don't know. >> You don't know where you live? >> No. >> Is the address on your license where you live? >> It doesn't matter. >> Matters. I ain't doing nothing. You guys want to do this crap to me? I ain't doing that. >> It's not me doing it. >> I can't help you. You can't help me. I ain't helping you. I ain't trying to be that way. >> Well, I'm trying to do that. >> Well, I'm doing you as courtesy to come over here. >> I'm telling you, I ain't going to do nothing if you can't do nothing. >> Wow. >> It is what it is. >> I have to do >> I love you, but you guess what? >> What you did was you took my baby away from me. >> No, ma'am. I protect that child. >> You did not protect my child. You took my child away from me. >> I also believe you to be under the influence. So, I mean, that's not a great thing. >> Wow. Do you drink alcohol? >> Just stop. >> Okay, that's fine. You can go home by yourself. >> The mother faces charges of child and simple battery, and could face up to 6 years in prison or probation, plus a $6,000 fine under Florida law.
