Oh my [screaming] god. >> Get up. >> He's up. He's up. [laughter] >> These children stand amid raised voices and [music] a heavy atmosphere. Wideeyed as the adults around them gradually lose emotional balance. >> You're under arrest. These guys are going to check you out. >> You sprayed THE BABY. >> SHE DID. My baby. >> It was yellow. Oh my god. This series reveals the fragile line between disagreement and serious [music] missteps, between avoidance and responsibility, where children unknowingly become silent observers. As tension builds inside the home, intervention is not only about ensuring safety, but also a reminder that every moment of delay carries consequences. >> Hold on, double hand. Just hit it like eight times. >> What's going on tonight? So hard to show. On December 14th, [music] 2024, authorities received a call from a man expressing concerns about inappropriate boundary issues involving his partner and a child following repeated signs of emotional instability in daily life and the relationship. Upon arrival, those involved [music] were separated to better understand the situation. >> Hey there. >> Hi. >> Hey, Victoria. >> Hi. >> Where's the house? >> Well, who called? >> She just flipped my bed, took everything off. >> Did not. Let's talk. >> Okay, >> let's go back over. >> I'm very >> I'm going to talk to you in a different room. You stay over here with me though. Okay, >> let's stay right. I'm sorry, but just for the baby. >> Yeah, we just smoked that. She full on double hand like eight times, bro. What's going on tonight? So hard to shut. >> I've been to work, bro. Did a 12-hour shift. I get off. She went to her Christmas party, I guess, ex job's house cuz she's on pregnancy leave right now. >> Okay. >> Drinks every single day, bro. Fifth of wine last night. 12 pack of twisted tea 2 days ago, six-pack 3 days ago. Just drinks all day. >> I need to know tonight. >> I got I'm going that bottle right there. Went bought that. Got extremely up. Went to the bar. Loves down the street. When I get home, her mom was here babysitting. I was at work and she was out at her Christmas party. But she's stumbling. Can't walk. Can't talk. I've been taking care of baby for the last 7 hours. I just um out of curiosity, I went to her phone. She been cheating on me. I have not raised my voice a single time, put her hands on her or anything. And she's just a compulsive liar, bro. She got mad that she got caught. Starts teeing up. Throwing stuff all over the place. She kept taking the baby's bottle from me. And just >> What do you mean starts teeing up? >> I'm sorry. Yeah, that was just throwing stuff. She just broke my PC. Broke the the door. She tried to hit us bottle right there. >> How'd that happen? >> That's not from tonight. >> No, you can see the post. I had another one on the left side. So >> So was going to be physical tonight between you two. >> No, she just tried to throw stuff at us. So she never you never you >> said she want to take me and try to get herself. That's when I called her when her she flipped my bed over took all my clothes out of the drawer. >> She said she wants to kill you. >> And then she couldn't find a gun. She said she go on a brick wall. >> She never said I'm going to. She said I want to. >> I went to a Christmas party from my job. >> Um he came home. I was asleep. I just woke up. We're fighting. Twisted tea. >> I didn't just drink a 12-pack of twisted tea. Can you tell us if you did? It's your house. You live here, right? >> Mhm. >> All right. Your place. How long is the baby? >> She's almost 2 months. >> Okay. Any thoughts? Outside depression? You have any history of any of that stuff? Okay. Were you in the room when he was calling police? >> No, I was outside. >> You made some allegations of some stuff or just get everybody identified, figure out what's going on here. Victoria, what's your last name? >> Warner. >> Any police encounters? Anything before? >> Police encounters? >> Yeah. Like any any calls for service out for for you guys have any? >> [clears throat] >> There's been one about a year ago. >> You've been seeing like your doctor since delivery? >> Yeah, I've seen her once. I haven't had another appointment. >> Any concern like postpartum depression, anything like that? [clears throat] >> Not super common. So, first kid or other kids. Okay. >> I guess you can say how I started it when I found out she was been she didn't show me the last year. This baby's one month old. I got to get a DNA test now and everything, bro. Very serious. I I'll show you guys the proof and everything. Like the last year I've been getting cheated on. So, I woke her up and tried to ask her about it and that's just what started all the yelling. She didn't want to tell the truth. She still didn't want to tell the truth. She just started yelling and screaming and won't calm down, >> but nobody tried to hurt each other. >> No, she I mean, yeah, she just started talk about. She did touch me, but yeah. >> Well, that's why I asked earlier. >> I'm sorry. >> I said, did anybody each other try to hit each other? And I was told no. >> She didn't hit me. No, I'm sorry. I just got a lot going on. Same with those bags. Who threw those bags like three, four separate times, throwing stuff all over the place, trying to hit people. >> Officers requested that the woman cooperate with lawful procedures. Struggling to regulate her emotions, she further intensified the situation. Do >> you have your or anything on here? >> No. You might have to check real quick. >> Okay. Do >> you keep anything? You have anything in your hand like that? >> I don't have anything. >> You don't get as like a wallet. Okay. No pockets on here. >> No, I don't even have my phone on me. >> Okay. Okay. Put your hands on your back for me. Okay. >> Am I going to jail? >> Yes, ma'am. For domestic. >> I didn't touch them. >> He alleged you tried to hit him with a vodka bottle. >> I didn't. Just cuz you didn't succeed doesn't mean it's not domestic. Do you have a packet? >> Are you kidding me? >> If you do that for me, I'll do >> That's not going to help. >> ARE YOU KIDDING ME? CALL my mom. >> Call my mom. >> [ __ ] you. >> Yeah, that's not how that works. Do you understand me? The baby. That's how you lose a baby. Want a child? I was about to say child >> CCH for domestic to determine if it's felony or misdemeanor and then from there so booking slip first determine what level of domestic we have from there add on the child end dangering and those should be our only two charges. >> It became apparent that the mother was not in a stable [music] condition to care for the child. However, the father, constrained by hesitation and personal feelings, continued to resist necessary [music] next steps, even as the child remained visibly overwhelmed. >> So, this is domestic packet. Mhm. I'm going to tell you right now, you have the option to do it or not with me. But I'm going to tell you right now, it's not a good look if you don't do it when you have a baby in the picture. >> It's just that she already has one, [crying] bro. I just figured out my wife got ruined tonight. I don't like just that part of me doesn't want to ruin hers anymore. >> Well, I'm going to tell you right now, she's going regardless. I am obligated by law the minute claim of domestic is made is to take her. But on top of that, what she just did, what she just did, she's getting child and danger charges, too. >> That's how [laughter] it's been on, right? That's how it always is for [crying] all of this. >> So, again, you don't have to do this with me, but if you don't, it's going to look real bad if that is your kid. >> Placing most of our names. How does that go? >> Like, you mean in terms of getting her out of here? Are you asking in terms of getting her out of here? uh you'll have to evict her. >> What's what's this parking exactly for? >> So I would ask you these yes or no questions from there because no actual occurred. It was just an attempt of you would just fill out to the best of your ability what happened tonight right here. >> What is this like sealing the domestic >> a good chunk of it just happened on camera? It's sealed. Man, >> this just sucks, man. I'm sorry. >> All right. This make it easier for me to get custody of you, man. >> Yeah, it would for sure. Especially when they see what that just happened on camera. >> You were literally holding like without a doubt it's her kid. Like you said, you got to figure out now for sure. >> If it's my kid, I don't. >> That's what I'm saying. But without a doubt it's her kid. You're No one's in denial that came out of her. Which means while you were holding it, she had no qualms that at you, which means you probably shouldn't have that kid anyway. >> Like that. That's that's utter what she just pulled. Right. To the best of your ability. What happened tonight? I don't need you to fill out the top. >> If you need more than these lines, just fill in the emptiness as you go. >> Sitting down a lot more. I'm sorry. I like have my story a little over the place. >> You're good, man. I get it. I get it. >> My whole life, man. Everything after she didn't find a good she was going to drink the whole bottle. That's why I dumped out the bottle and that's when she really got mad. >> Do you guys even have a >> No, she just thinks I I used to have multiple in the house. I don't have any number. >> I believe you. I just, like I said, we saw a call comment about a gun. >> Okay. So, she thinks there's one still here and she was just trying to find it. Do you think she might try to kill you? >> I don't think she was that punk state. >> Okay. >> Does she own a >> Have the two of you left or separated after living together or being married previously? >> Yes. >> Can she get a or another weapon easily? >> Yeah. Is she constantly jealous or does she control and/or monitor most of your daily activities? Does she follow or spy on you or leave any messages? >> No more. >> But has she previously? >> Yeah, years ago. >> Does she have a history of abusing alcohol or any other controlled substance? >> Has she ever tried to commit? >> Is she unemployed? >> No, she works one day out of a week. >> Okay. How long have you two been together? >> Coming on six years. six years. >> Is there any business sensor to us? >> So with this, if it goes to court, >> you can you can ask for that to be included. >> Has she said it's yours or now that you've figured out about the cheating, is she saying there's >> she won't admit to the cheating. >> But so she's still adamant that is your kid. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I'm on the >> Okay. Everything we do here tonight, if you don't go to that thing means nothing. This just it all goes away. That's how it works. Which is why it can get frustrating when you go to some houses where you're there every week and they say something along the lines of you guys never do anything for me. It's like well we do you just have to go. >> Are you able to show me the things that she destroyed as well as that bottle she tried to hit you with? >> Okay. >> What else you throw the door? >> This is This is what I called you guys. I'm talking >> Hey, double hand. Wham bam wham. >> And now it's broken. It opened a lot smoother than this. >> Okay. >> And when I went to go, let me try to do that real quick. >> When she went to the car and I tried to lock her out, she just came back in as I was on the phone with your guys. Dispatch box though. >> Okay. I'm going to be back. >> I got to go. But I will be back to finish this. All I'm going to need is her name and then your mom's name. Okay. on that one. >> The girlfriend was charged with victim/witness notification violations, childment, and domestic violence. Under Ohio law, [music] she could face up to 18 months in prison and a $3,000 fine. Family conflicts are not limited to documents or procedures. They are deeply human situations where every moment of delay [music] can leave lasting effects on those who are most vulnerable. Sometimes what begins as a small disagreement in familiar places like parks or playgrounds can quickly grow beyond anyone's expectations. >> She was already in us a like a while ago. >> On March 1st, 2024, a disturbance at a public park led to a prompt response from local authorities. A group of teenagers attempted to use a shared space, but instead of resolving the situation calmly, a woman reacted strongly and insisted they leave. This led to a tense exchange with the child's family. As emotions rose, both adults and children became involved, requiring officers to carefully and patiently bring the situation back under control. >> Hey, separate. Get back. >> Get the back. >> Just shut up. >> Hey, get off. >> Put your jacket off. Put your jacket on and sit right there. >> Are you okay? It's him. >> No, it's true. Don't let attackmy stop. >> That is enough. >> Stop. I told you how many times. >> Get up. Get up. You okay? >> Yeah, I'm very lost. >> Go back over that way, please. >> Go back over on that side. >> Ma'am, could you go on that side? >> Minding my own business. Walking back home. >> Could you go over on that side, please? >> Can you get over there? >> And this wants TO COME AT ME. >> THAT'S IT. GO BACK OVER that way. It's >> your fault. Open it up. It's your fault. >> Hold on. >> Stop putting your hands away. >> I'm not relaxing. >> I wasn't doing [ __ ] I was just walking back >> and you guys come hit us. >> Okay, I'm done. Yeah, you probably can't help me. >> Come on. Come at me. >> Go over on that side. >> Let's go. >> You guys stay over there, sir. Oh, just my sit down. Sit down. Wasn't my >> Bonnie said he's on the other side. >> She was already us a like a while ago. She was chasing us on that street. >> I'm going home. >> Okay. >> So, what had happened? Cuz I got on scene and everybody was fighting. What had happened? >> There was already a unit called this was chasing after my daughter and her friends. >> Okay. >> Saying that they're going to him up. I drove around and my daughter said that's her. So I just stopped and told her and she just said get started coming. >> Hey buddy, could you go back over there please? So you located her. You started talking to her. You confronted her about it. >> I pulled over and she pulled over. I said, "Hey, why are you kicking my daughter? Your daughter." >> Ma'am, go back over there please. Let me talk to her about my mom. >> Okay, understand. >> Are you okay? >> Yeah. I thought I thought she had to heal. >> Do you need an ambulance? >> No. >> No. My mom might cuz her leg's already broken and she had me and my mom was right there. So she grabbed my mom's thing. >> Okay. So you confront her first. Your mom was still in the vehicle. >> Yeah. >> That's when she got out. >> No, my daughter. We just stopped and we just, you know, she that's, you know, that's the one. She goes, "Why are you picking on my daughter?" She said, you know, we got down and we were talking to her normal and she just started. We have to defend ourselves, right? But anyway, and then she's telling my daughter, "Oh, you don't raise your kids." So she goes, >> I don't know where you're going to, but you know what? >> So you guys confronted her. She started fighting with you. I said, "Hey, why are you trying to pick on my daughter?" So she pushed her daughter in my face like >> your daughter. >> You should raise your daughter. And then I was like, "What do you mean? She's a little girl." And she started. >> Okay. All right. So I mean this whole entire situation, >> listen to me on this entire situation. I mean, I get it. I I'm a parent as well and I'd be upset as well. But if you had locator, ma'am, this could have been handled different. You could have called us. We could have been took off running all over >> involvement in the altercation. I'm not going to arrest you tonight cuz I can understand that. But this could have been handled differently now. Not in front of the kids. Throughout the encounter, the woman stated that she felt pressured and believed her actions were a form of self-p protection. >> Did you get out of your handcuffs? Step out. >> Turn around. >> I didn't do anything. It was them. >> So, I'm going to ask you your next part, but you can't be taking out your handcuffs. >> But it was them. They were the one that was talking [ __ ] It's all their fault. Trying to stop defending myself because there was four of them. There was two girls and two boys. >> Okay. Okay. >> Yeah. Okay. You f Okay, you understand? >> I understand. I'm going to get your statement. Give me a second. >> Listen to me. I don't appreciate you taking off my handcuffs and you were heated when I got here. Okay. So, stop. >> But I didn't do anything. I was just walking back from >> I told you I told you to separate and you continue to fight with her. That's why you're in handcuffs. >> Well, it's her fault because she's the one that did it. I didn't say nothing to her. >> Have a seat. >> Ain't that some [ __ ] >> Have a seat. >> All right. So, I'm going to talk to you. >> Hurry up. justing closed the door. >> What's your name? >> You don't know. >> What's your name? >> Tell them the truth. >> It's Renee Long. >> Renee Long. >> Yes. It's her fault. Her kids's fault. I just walking home and then they pulled up. I was walking right here. >> Just be calm. >> It's not my fault. I know. Just calm down. Just know. >> They don't want to listen. They don't want to listen. They be quiet. Okay. >> They just closed the door. regional to welfare check. >> After being informed of her rights, she acknowledged having consumed a substance earlier, which authorities noted may have influenced her judgment and contributed to the situation becoming more intense. >> So, your ma'am, can I take pictures of your please? I know you have some on your neck. Would you be better if it chief did it? Chief, can you grab them for me, please? >> Yeah. Okay, let's go over here. We'll just Okay. She also bit me. No, but you won't [ __ ] come to me. >> Okay, that's enough. All right. >> Well, tell her stoping looking at me. >> I'm going to ask you some questions, but I need to read you something first. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in the court of law >> to talk to a lawyer and have them listen to me. Have him make you present while you're being questioned. >> I didn't do anything. Do you wish to make statements? >> They're the one that came up to me. >> Miss Long, do you wish to speak to me about what had occurred here? >> Yes, I would. They came up to me. They pulled up in the truck. That's why the truck is there. I was just trying to go back to my aunties. >> So, you weren't being honest with me initially cuz I asked if you had been at El Park and you lied to me. >> Well, I was walking back from the park and >> I told you to go a different way and you didn't. >> I live straight here. I'm not going to take the long way back. I was just going to my auntie. >> This whole thing could have been avoided if you did that. >> But they came while their kids are the one that was saying to me. >> How much alcohol you consume? >> I only had like two three pints. That's it. Or not pints, but ponies. And I was walking back from also and their kids started saying stuff to me and that's when they took off and they ran and that's when they called these guys and they came up in the red truck. She's going to be charged. She's going to be charged additionally, but she's not going to get arrested. You, however, because you're intoxicated of fighting with people, you are going to be arrested. >> Yeah, but I didn't do anything. >> Okay. If not, I'll probably transport her anywhere. >> Pictures, chief. She's being non-compliant. So, >> okay. >> I got your information. She's going to go to jail obviously. I mean, she's intoxicated. You know, if anything, you know, you'll probably be summoned for public affair. Okay? I mean, it's understandable. You want to defend your children, but you know, instead of fighting in front of them, could have called us. Hey, locate the female. We could have came. You wouldn't have been injured. She would have been injured. This whole thing could have played out different. Okay. >> So, do you have any questions of me? >> No, I don't. >> No. Okay. So, you don't know her at all? >> No. Okay. It's okay. >> Come on. >> It's okay. It's okay. >> It's okay. >> Okay, papa. It's okay. It's okay. It all started because I told I told the girl in the black car, "Do not move her car." She got up with the maze and sprayed me and I had a baby in my arms and she sprayed me. >> That's my name. >> To bring the scene under control, authorities had to temporarily limit the movement of several individuals involved. >> We broke >> it. I don't give a about no charge. Listen, get my mother card out my car. Watch your head. >> Yeah. Detain all of them. >> DON'T DON'T RESIST. DON'T RESIST. LET THAT BE. LET THAT BE. SIR, let that be, y'all. Let that be, >> let be, call. I swear to God, call. Let that be. They been busting MY WINDOWS ALL MOTHER WEEK. LET THAT BE. I SWEAR TO GOD. Let's go. >> We're going to have the victim for now. Okay. For now. You're detained. You're detained. Go inside. >> Can I tell you something? >> Yes. But afterwards, I need to figure things out. >> My kids are in the house, too. This time, >> we're going to figure We're going to figure it out in the vehicle. Okay, the sooner you cooperate with the investigation, the quicker everything moves along. Okay, >> we will take care of your children in thank you. >> A family acquaintance later explained that the incident began with a simple disagreement over parking, but escalated rapidly after an irritant was used and a solid object the vehicle. Listen, first of all, when you call, you want to defend random self-defense. We not I don't want to hear. I I really I really really don't want to hear. Can I get Where the car is at? What's in the car? Can I get the car inside the car by any chance? >> Figure out. I'm just going I'm going to Yeah. >> I'm going to just get the tags from the vehicles and then can move the car. Is that your vehicle? >> That's fine. All right. Just one second. Please. >> No. They going to bust my window. They just bust the window. >> Who just busted the window? >> Okay. All right. Figure. She'll figure it out. Hold on. Let me let me do what I got to do with her car first. >> All right. So, real quick, you have the right to remain silent, or refuse to answer questions. Anything you say, can it may be used against you in a court of law. You're right. Talk to an attorney before speaking to me and have an attorney here with you during questioning now or in the future. Cannot afford an attorney. One will be appointed for you knowing and understanding your rights. Are you willing to speak with me now without an attorney present? >> I'm only 16. I don't know. I'm only six. I don't even know what mean. >> Do you understand what he read you or no? >> I understand. I understand. >> All right. So, either you would like to share your account of what happened or not. >> Okay. >> Based on understand your rights, correct? >> I don't get in trouble for sharing. I don't am I getting in trouble for sharing what happened? Like I don't understand. He >> So all right. So he's asking you information. We want to ask you information in reference to what happened >> because I have you in custody at the moment as far as being detained as as being involved with one of the parties who's definitely going to go to jail right now. Okay. >> I'm definitely going to jail. >> No. >> Okay. >> My parties do I have to inform you of your rights before we start having a conversation. So do you understand? >> Yes. >> Okay. All right. So how did this what do we got going on? >> Let me let me explain the story from the jump. Okay. So I'm friends with is sister. I'm friends with me the girl who was also arrested and the girl who was walking up who just came from work and was asking what happened. I don't know if you remember sir the she's kind of big. She had the glasses. We all go to school together. We're friends. So me and came to house because we knew this is the time she came off and she got off of work. I don't know. Parallels. So parked in front of her house and then the I'm not sure what the other girl's name is. I I don't know any of these people here. This is my second time at house. The girl who was parked behind didn't want to move. Um she sat there she honk t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t honk t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t honk h t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t h tonk t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t h t honk we sat there for at least 2 to 3 minutes after that got out the car she m and then that's when she went out the other way through the back the back the backyard way you know what's name >> I don't know name sir I I'm not familiar with these people sir this is like my third time hanging out with she was supposed to be my ride home as the adult who lived with me sir I told my mom I was going to hang out with friends after school I just came I came here straight from school I haven't even been home now so I had no plans on ming anyone's child or Even I don't I have no idea how any I even got involved in any of this. Sir, >> just hang up. Relax. Relax. Relax. So So how did the So this all was over over a parking, right? >> Yes. But I'm sure they had beef before um before. >> Okay. So someone got out of the car and made somebody. >> Yes. >> Okay. And then after that, what happened? >> Her name is Yeah, I'm sure. Pretty sure. Uh what does your question say? >> What happened after the maze? After the maze, D got in the car. G jumped in the car and she drove out the backyard way. The there's an opening through the house. If you go back and look, there's opening through the other way. That we went that way. And said, "F that." She made a U-turn. She came back to the house cuz she said she wanted to get her kids. So, we came back to get her kids. While we were driving through the house, the girls um I'm not I don't know who exactly threw it, but I know the with the who is with the baby who got me, they threw something. I don't know what they threw at the car. They threw something at the car. All the glasses busted. This I still have glass on my legs right now and everywhere on me. Take me back one more time to rolling up and the mace coming out because my brain takes a little bit to catch up. >> Okay. So, first of all, we were in the house, sir. >> Yeah. Okay. So, you're in the house. >> We're in the house. We were leaving to go pick up some. We were leaving to go pick up. Got in the car. >> It's all right here, right? >> Yes. Car is parked in front of the girl's car. The girl with the baby or her mom was in the car. She was talking to her mom. She was standing outside the car. Um car was parked in front. She was trying to back out this way to go this way to go get pick up who we're trying to pick up. The girl the girl's mom would not move her car. The girl kept telling her mom, "Don't move the car. Don't move the car. She can go the other way." Like, and now they're having a screaming match while they're in the car. Said, "F that." Gets out. She gets the mace. She sprays the maze. Jumps back in the car. >> Now, where was the other girl in the baby when the mace was getting sprayed? >> I don't know. Me and stayed in the car. Me and were literally holding each other like, "Oh my god. Oh my god." >> What did you see her do though? Did she go up to a vehicle? >> No, no, no. What happened was through me? Before he got out, the girl said, "Um, what's up? What's up?" And then the baby, she gave the baby to somebody and then they were like squaring up to fight. She didn't know had the maze. Let me correct. >> I got you. >> She didn't know had the maze. And then that's when >> she produced it. >> Yes. >> And sprayed it. Yes, sir. >> Okay. So, they were all out of the vehicle that you saw at the time when they were spraying. >> Yes. >> When it was sprayed, >> me and was still in the car. >> And then what happened? You guys then >> uh jumped back in the car like let's go. I was I was begging. I was like, "Take me home. Take them home. Take them home." She said, "First, I have to get my kids." She turned >> and when you started driving, that's when the window of the car got broken. when we were driving up to the house to get the kids. >> Second time. >> Yeah. The second time she um that's the one. >> And then at that point, what what happened with you? >> That's when that's what you >> got out again or >> you remember that's when the police came? The police came? >> Yeah, that was me. That's when they were That's when you guys were leaving. Is that That's when >> Yeah, I got out the car cuz we were all busted up. >> Okay, perfect. Thank you so much for talking to me. Let us finish our investigation and we'll be back. Okay, >> sir. I just want you to all remember that I'm still a minor piece, right? I have nothing to do with any of this. Like >> I believe you. >> Okay. Officers continued speaking with others involved. Under Florida law, defensive spray is considered a controlled safety device, and improper use can result in serious legal outcomes. >> Okay. Well, yeah, if you're done talking, I'm going to talk to her. Okay. So, thank you for being patient. >> Thank you for being patient. make sure I have, as you can imagine, there's a lot of information that needs to be acquired to sort through a mess like this. >> Okay. So, your name is >> Yes. >> What's just I don't know. >> Your date of birth is baby like me. You have a phone number. Where do you live? What's your address? >> I live with my mom. >> I got you over here. What? Uh what apartment number? Okay. Um what's your mom's name? What's last name? Sam, you know her phone number? She home now? >> No. >> Okay. Where is she? >> I was just on phone. She's out. >> All right. So, before I have a conversation with you, I have to read you explain to you your rights just because you're in cuffs and you're in the back of a police car. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, I'm going to read them to you just to make sure you understand. You have the right to remain silent and to refuse to answer questions. Anything you say can and may be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to talk to an attorney before talking to me and have an attorney here with you during questioning now or in the future. You cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed for you. Knowing and understanding your rights, are you willing to speak to me now without an attorney present? >> Okay. So, I already have an idea about what happened. I've spoken to a lot of people. I'm just would like to hear what your account is. >> Okay. So basically I'm their friend. >> I came over here because they her the one the one that you guys across the car. I'm her friend. Me and my other friend over there with the >> What's her name? What's your friend? The other one with the car. >> Yeah. >> What's her name? >> Uh I don't know. We just call her. I don't really know. >> Okay. You said the same thing. Okay. >> So I came over here. We came over here to, you know, be with my friend. We came to chill. So basically my friend was telling her to back up. They would not back up. They was like >> She was telling her to back up the car. >> Yes. And um they end up calling the landlord telling the landlord that I guess we parked somewhere but that's her parking spot. So we're we asked them she asked her nicely, can you back up please? She will not back up. Basically left. Okay, cool. After that I guess the May situation. Me and my friend was in the back seat and I know nothing. We drove down the street a big old brick threw glass all glasses all over us. The police came. We sat on the ground. >> Okay. Take me back to the take me back to um >> give us a minute. We'll we'll if maybe you could help. We you could help us take us back to the part where you're in the car and the mace happens. >> Okay. We in the car and the mace happened >> cuz I got more details from is she was a little more detailed. She was able to tell me a little bit more. I need to know I need to know exactly what happened the way it went down. >> So basically he was there. She said back up the car. Back up the car. Back up the car. I guess she got phys. Well the girl I don't know she left the she got really physical was calling her B. She was like no we're not moving [ __ ] End up calling the landlord. >> The girl did. >> No no no the other one that said she was hurt. She left. She end up calling the landlord on us. Mind you, was parked in our parking space. So, she called the landlord. So, I guess they were just going back and forth, going back and forth. >> In the car and she's outside of the car and they're >> Yeah, they were just going back and forth. We left. We end up driving off. Um I guess we came when they threw the brick. That's when got out the car and she decided to mace. And then they was like, "She makes the baby. She makes the baby. She makes the baby." So, that's literally what happened. They made us. She was like, "Give me the mace. Give the mace. Give me the mace." She got the mace and then she just started going through the car. >> Okay. So, the happened before or after the break? To be honest, I think it happened before and then when they threw the brick, she did it again. >> Got it. Okay. >> So, basically, this all happened because the girl basically they wouldn't move and then they end up calling the landlord. That's how it all happened. It could have been resolved. >> I'm more concerned about the order of events with the brick through the window and the mace. It was the mace and then the brick through the window. >> To be honest, we was driving down the street. I'm just on my phone chilling. All I know is I hear loud boom glass all over me just >> and that was dim. Yes. >> Right. But I'm saying And was that immediately when you guys saw my truck? >> Yes. When we saw the truck, the glass went booze. >> So that happened after you already went around the bus. >> Yes. Yes. Yeah. >> All right. So they got in the fight before you guys drove through the houses and down the around the >> No, no, it wasn't a fight. They was just >> I'm saying though they got out, but then she with the mace >> and then drove around the block and then that's when you guys with the brick. >> Yeah. >> All right. Perfect. Okay. Thank you. All right. Just stand by for a second. Okay. >> How old is she? >> How old are you? >> I'm 16. >> 16. She live Yeah, she lives in. >> In the end, the younger sister was still required to face formal legal consequences. >> Registered owner of this. >> Yeah, I am. Listen, they had they already ordered my heart tag. I can't go get my heart tag. >> Okay. But it but that tag still is under you. >> Yeah, your vehicle. >> Yeah, the registration has to own a car. Just so you know, fits my shirt. >> Just so you know, it's being told. Okay. It's going to be at Emerald's towing on at 4,000. I thought I thought y'all said my god mama could park it at my house. My house right here. >> Yeah. Her god mama take them. >> My house is right here. The the apartment of my name. The car my name. That's fine. >> Yeah, that's fine. Okay. All right. >> That's fine. You can come get it. Okay. >> Okay. Go back in the car. Back in the car first before we have any conversation. >> Wait. Can you pull these pants down cold? Like you just That's better all the way down under my waist. Like right there. That's better to put my own damn pants on. >> I ain't know how you wanted them. CHILL OUT NOW. I'M NOT THAT [ __ ] I don't need a >> So why would you buy a big I got them from Walmart. >> Okay. All right. Thank you so much. Appreciate it. >> The suspect was charged with aggravated child a felony felony burglary with a or battery [music] and battery causing bodily a misdemeanor. I was like maybe. >> On July 30th, 2024, deputies in Oyola County, Florida, received a report of a frightened 10-year-old girl found near a roadway. Witnesses said she had been left outside a vehicle by her father during a dispute over family arrangements. She had no phone and her belongings were left behind. Officers responded quickly and spoke with those at the scene. >> We have her. Everything's okay. Was she supposed to be here? >> Is uh is your wife Vanessa home? >> She's coming. >> Okay. >> Okay. Well, we have >> Okay. Yeah, we have her. She's fine. We're just trying to figure out We're just trying to put the pieces together as to why she she was coming back into this area. Why they were coming back? >> But I thought, what were the instructional agreement? her. Her father was supposed to bring her back to he supposed to drop her off here. Luke. Okay. for Oldtown. foreign. Okay. No, I know. >> There was an incident last night where I guess there was some miscommunication. He dropped her off all of a sudden when they noticed she's missing and he and she end up being with her dad up in Claremont. Okay. Okay. Uhhuh. Okay. You're not going to plan anything. Yeah, they're supposed No. Bring out here. At the same time, officers spoke with the father who explained that he felt uneasy and believed leaving the area quickly was the best way to avoid further complications, resulting in his daughter being left behind. Okay. It's over there. >> Little Srano Junior. >> So, what's going That's your name or that's the kid's name? >> That's my name. That's my daughter. >> Did you say your >> It's right there right next to all my food. They was threatening me. I was the one. I don't have no >> You have a case, but you don't have a >> I don't have no >> Then what's up with the case? >> That case is old. It's been there. It's my girls. >> It's my wife's >> son. Do you have an address where you're you're like uh your mom lives? Something like that. >> Where you be dropping off the kid with? >> Yeah. >> 95. >> They they told me come here before I talk to you, man. I'm right here. >> They they they told me, "Oh, cuz I'm shopping for for my for my daughter." They told me I can stay with my daughter for 3 days. The cops came to to my hotel and they was like, "Oh, um, we can't do nothing about it, but because you're you're a dad." And then I asked permission. I said, "Can I can I stay with with with her?" No. Oh, um, you stay with her for 3 days. And then they said that the cops were over there. I think they were trying to fool me or something. I got scared, bro. >> Okay. >> So, I dropped her off. I said, "My walk." Crying because she didn't want nothing to happen to me and she told me to go. >> So, you dropped her off on the side of the road and told her to walk. >> She told me to walk so I won't get in trouble. I was like, "Maybe I just drop it all over." >> How old is the girl? >> She's 10. >> She's 10. >> Knows where she lives. She knows exactly where she lives. I was scared. I didn't do nothing. That's my daughter, bro. >> Okay. So, why were you speeding down the road? >> Cuz he was chasing me. I didn't know who he was. I thought he tried to kill me or something. I'm scared, [crying] bro. I'm so scared with my life. >> Well, we're going to get things figured out. >> Oh, man. I didn't do nothing. >> All right. Right now, we have deputies that are looking for your daughter. >> My daughter? >> She's supposed to be going home. She knows exactly where he's at. Can I Can I call her mom, please? >> We'll call her in a minute. Hang. >> I got her number right there. Can Can you grab my phone so I can >> We have We have people going out to the Pickering Drive address. So, >> you dropped her off by Scott, right? >> No, I I dropped her off right in front of where um Okay. You know where? Okay. Where Scott is at, right? Yeah. >> You know the um the the apartment club complex on the left, right? >> Kane Island Loop. Yeah. >> Okay. So, right before the guard, I I dropped off right there. >> Okay. >> That's where >> it's Pickering in Sherwood Forest. >> Pickering. Pickering. Okay. You know where Ducky Things is at, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, that little road right there straight where the guard is at. She lives all the way in the back to the left. >> Okay. I know where that's at. She lives in the little RV trailer park there. Yeah, that's what I sure would for nothing. I got to spend time with my kids. Bro, >> that's all I did. >> Can you stay with him real quick? >> Another witness later shared a different account that conflicted with the father's explanation, adding uncertainty to the circumstances. >> Is the complaint? I'll talk to you. >> There was a previous call. >> Okay. Hey, how you doing? >> Oh, true. Did they drop him off or did he drop the kid off on Scott or on 182? >> It's so like Scott goes like this and then like uh so or no. Um I was just showing him. So Scott there's like a a entrance into like a gated community something loop land or >> in Sherwood Forest if you're talking about like the RV park. Are you talking about Kane Island Loop? >> Yeah, Kane Island Loop. So, he he tossed her out of the vehicle like >> Kane Island Loop. Threw her out, started throwing stuff at her. Okay. >> She was like crying, freaking out. >> He was wearing He changed his shirt cuz he was wearing a different shirt earlier. >> Oh, is he? >> Yeah, he was wearing a gray shirt. >> Okay. I mean, the family lives in Sherwood Forest, but that's still far for a 10-year-old in the middle of the night. >> 10, >> bro. She looked like she was five, bro. Dude, she's like this tall, bro. >> Yeah, he's saying she's 10, obviously. Who knows? But >> that was dude. >> Um, is anybody 1012 with the child? >> Yeah. >> Okay. I knew he was in the area. I just didn't hear him say he was 1012. As the father continued to speak, [music] his statements became less consistent, making it difficult for officers to clearly understand what had taken place. >> We're going to have charge. point behind you. >> As soon as I see you driving that truck, do you as soon as I see I stop, bro? >> Well, I appreciate that. That means have to keep driving looking for it for a couple minutes. But luckily, they're over there. They're making contact with everybody. If there's if there's nothing going on, then they'll figure that out. Obviously, we're just with you and all we got is you telling us that dropped them off the family and that's all we got. So, I can only be in one place at a time. >> Bro, I'm telling you the truth, bro. I swear to God, bro. I'm tired of riding through. >> That's all, bro. I love my kids, bro. >> So, how old is your daughter? >> 10. Like, you know, you guys like used to live together or you guys got separated or >> How long ago was that? Sorry. 67 years ago. I know. >> Yeah. >> I was with them recently. I said, >> "So, is that like yesterday morning or is that So, look, cuz it was it was four. He's the opposite." >> Sure. >> So, so my daughter about >> And as a father, your father? >> No, we're all pretty young, man. We don't have kids yet. There's some others out here though, bro. >> But if you're a father, you you'll understand. I got I got screenshot. My mom look right behind you. >> Yeah. I don't want to be in the world. I don't want to run away. I said, "Calm down, baby. I'm coming. I'm opening for you, bro. I'll show you." Man, you don't have to be scared. I need to hurt you. I don't understand what's going on. >> Okay. Snapchat. >> I got scared. You're just telling me I want to be here. So, I did a bad thing. I never picked up. >> Yeah. But then you >> you call somebody, but I picked up my intentions to save you. That's it. No. >> So, your daughter was telling you that she didn't want to be at her mom's house. >> Look at it right there. >> So, is it these though? I'm trying to I think I might have went the wrong way. >> Look at I kind of I kind of went backwards. >> Oh, yeah. No, it was you told me to go the other way. Sorry. >> No, no. Yeah, just keep going. I'm trying to tell you everything, bro. I got nothing to hide, bro. Well, right now we're just trying to figure out what's going on. >> And they trying to scare me and stuff. Hold on. I got the cops. >> Where was your kid sit? Where was your kid sitting at? >> In the back over there. Right there. In the back. In the back. Right behind me. >> It's empty. I already >> It's empty. Okay. >> It's my wife. >> Is your wife the one that lives in Sherwood Forest? >> No, she don't live over there. She's with me. That's just your baby mama >> lives off of Pickering. >> Picking that grandma. >> Oh, okay. >> Yeah. I'm sorry. I keep getting distracted. >> So, I'm I'm guessing your daughter's name is >> I want to take her all the way. the cops go over there like that. Why would it do that? He told me I could take it for 3 days. >> Okay. >> I don't want to show we're just trying to figure out. >> So, we need to know how your daughter ended up on the side of the road. Like why you sped off away from her? I didn't sped off away from her. I kept going. And when I kept going, I I the light and then I I I go I speed up a little bit. I'm looking in my rearview and I see that car following following laziness. I'm like what the hell's going on? Scared. >> So you you picked her up and then immediately dropped her off. >> No, no, no. She was with me. >> Okay. >> She was with me. And then when all that commotion was going on, I was like, "Maybe I got to drop the wall." I couldn't leave her cuz I had to I had to reload my car. So, you were taking her back to >> I was taking her her back to her home, but I was going to drop her off in the front. She didn't want me to get in trouble. No cops. I love you. I didn't do nothing, man. I've been out of trouble forever, bro. 6 years, man. I've been working my every day, bro. These kids, bro. Trying to make a change. >> That's good to hear, man. That's why I trying to make a change, man. >> We're not treating you a sort of way. I understand you got your issues with like girl's grandma and all that. Well, this is why I told her. >> Further information revealed ongoing family instability. The child usually stayed with her mother or grandparents, and a recent disagreement over temporary care had occurred, placing the child in an unreasonable situation. >> Like, how are you going to arrest me? I'm the father >> right now. You are not under arrest. I have you detained because of the allegations that were made. We're just conducting our investigation. Obviously, we're just hanging out with you, but >> Okay. I know. I'm sorry. You truly saw everything with you right there. But >> yeah, I mean, she's definitely saying that, you know, the the grandparents are being mean to her. She's crying. So, kind of what it sound like. >> How old is the baby? You know, >> looked like two or three. Where are you? >> So, somebody left the gun laying around. Yeah. >> Vehicle's locked down. I haven't checked it. Leaving it alone, but it's taped off. >> I get in trouble. Yeah, you're not in trouble. >> You're not in trouble because there's a gunshot. We got to cover Well, not only that, but because he you guys brought him here, that's a crime scene technically until they figure out what happened. >> While everyone was struggling to find the truth, the aunt coldly avoided questions, repeating, "I don't know." whenever police asked about the child and the parents. >> Real quick, >> what's your sister's name? Cuz she's being taken care of at the hospital. >> What's your sister's name? She's been taken care of at the hospital. I guess the kid, the nephew shot himself in the hand. So, we got some deputies over there. You know, the doctors are obviously attending his home. I wasn't able to get information of who lives inside, what's your nephew's name, and uh the sister's name. You mind providing me with that just so for the report? >> Well, I prefer her to give it to you. I don't even want to talk cuz I don't even know what's going on. Sir, >> so what's your nephew's name? >> I don't even know which one it is to be honest with you. It's too I don't even know. I prefer her to talk to y'all. >> So, what's your sister's first name? >> Y'all talk to her. I don't even want to talk. I as he wouldn't even tell me nothing. Well, I'm telling you what's going on if you want. >> I prefer I don't know what's going on, sir. So, I prefer not to talk. I go I'll let her talk to y'all cuz I don't know. >> Okay. >> What you got? >> Doesn't want to give up her sister's name or the nephew cuz she doesn't know what's going on. >> Well, they have it over there. >> Yeah, they've got it all over there. >> Like I told them, I said check. They can't see. Whoever takes over here, they write a warning. >> Police kept aggressively searching for the gun and all they got from the father was simply I put it in the box in the cabin. >> Everything's good. I don't know. Do you know where the gun was in the house? >> What up? Put your name and date of birth. Put it up. Tell >> the truth, >> bro. The game was put up in the box, bro. >> Where? >> In the box. >> Yes, it was in the box. >> Where's the box? >> It's out the cabin. My son can drive the cabin, though. >> So, how do you think he got access to it? He's not obviously older. >> Yes, he can kind of cry. He kind >> Does he know that you guys keep that up there? >> Yes, he know I have. >> Is he looking interested by No, >> bro. There got to be I don't I don't know, bro. >> There is there. It got to be there still, bro. I don't know. >> What kind of gun is it? >> A CZP10S. >> Not a revolver. It's a semi-automatic handgun. >> Yes. It's a CZPs. Caliber. >> N. I mean, >> can you put your name and date of birth in there for me? >> They keep the gun in the box in the cabinet. That's what she said. >> He said he keeps it under the cushion couch. >> I thought he just hold him the box in the cabinet. >> I got two stories. embarrassingly. >> Okay. All right. Mama is looking out, but we're locking down the um the car. >> But at the scene, aside from stains, the gun was still nowhere to be found. >> The is um between the kitchen and the living room and then leave out the front door down the sidewalk. We didn't go inside anything yet. I was waiting to hear from you before we started doing all that. I'll send you a screenshot. It's It's in between the living room and the kitchen leading into the wall. It's They have a dark carpet in the living room, so it's hard to really tell if there's any blood on it or not. I don't see any, but it doesn't mean there's not. >> So, the zero's probably >> I already looked underneath the cushion here. I didn't see anything. >> I'm not really going to [ __ ] around and like start tossing [ __ ] We'll let the search warrant handle that unless it's like under the couch. >> I guess they're telling it happened in the living room. The gun was underneath the couch. So, they're not giving up the gun. Look around the couch. I looked in the couch. >> Did you look underneath the couch? >> No, I don't know where the is. >> Cool. Traine can do it. I would say the bed is kind of like in this area here where you can just climb up on the couch and look under. >> I think they took it with them or somebody came in and grabbed it. >> You checked under the cushions. >> Yeah. I don't know about those last two. I checked the one where I found the blood cuz there's blood right here on the couch, too. >> Did you check the immediate area where blood was >> in a [snorts] corner somewhere? The grandfather was both worried for the child and angry at the father and revealed a surprising truth. >> Yeah, baby should be okay though. just in the hand. He probably have his hand in the cast for a little while to >> It scraped. It ain't even >> It didn't penetrate. >> No, it just escaped it just like >> scared everybody more than anything. But as you know, gun involved. We got to run the whole game. >> Yeah. >> You got to do the whole thing, man. >> He own the gun supposed to be is registered to him. But the thing is, he didn't have it locked. See, that's what the thing I tell him. Lock it up. Lock it. >> How old is he? >> Three. >> No, no, no. >> My son 24. >> 24. >> Never been in trouble. Nothing. >> He's still young. Yeah, but still he just had we was outside talking. Next thing I know, I hear pow. I said, "What the fuck?" And he ran in the house cuz he had the boyfriend was outside with us. He went right in there and with And he know better than that cuz the jail never touch him for touching the gun. My son he he clean. But the thing is he he got arrested for having a gun. But he fighting going to court. >> How long ago? >> 8 10 months ago. But he still going to court. You go back to court. April 11 that case 24 never been in trouble. He went to jail. >> I'm trying to figure out why they would why he would get arrested for having a gun if he was >> no officer who wrote it up. I forgot his name. One of them kids who was in there with the Haitian char. Girl say he pulled a gun on the video. He just told him got a weapon. Put it back in his pocket by the girl being traumatized from seeing her boyfriend get. She called a cop. Cop loaded up aggravated as with a weapon. No. >> But he showed her the gun and put it back in his pocket. put it back in his pocket. He just let him know say >> that's the only mistake he made. It's called unlawful display. >> See, but they ain't write it up as unlawful. He rolled up as aggravated with the weapon with with no >> In another corner, police were talking to a few suspicious individuals but got nothing useful. It was nothing more than a pointless conversation. >> Sorry about one more question. After they left, who went over to the house? Is there anything on your ring showing who went over there to secure the door? What's her name? >> I think she stays at, doesn't she? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. What? There's her girlfriend though that stays there, right? Who's the the young young girl that I was talking to when I first came up? >> Okay. >> I think she's the one that's told me that she secured the door. >> Let me see. I I'll talk to the girl over. I'm good with her. >> Hey. >> Hey. Your friend that was over here was my my my buddy there that went over to secure the door. Where is she at? >> Who are the security? >> The always hanging out here. Um she's your friend. I've always always run into her over here. Young girl >> I don't know remember her name. >> Yeah. >> Is she a friend of mine? >> My daughter, >> the one you used to know at the subway, right? She gone. She went to the hospital. >> Is she the one that secured the door then? >> What? The door here? >> No, the door over here. >> Oh, no. No. >> She lives here. [laughter] Not over here. >> No, this is a young girl kind of butch looking girl. >> I wasn't here at home. No. >> I know. My daughter came out when she heard about they got the little baby got whatever happened to his hand got but she went to the hospital in my car. >> What's up to go down there? >> Cuz she had a little baby a lot but I told her >> no I know to the hospital a lot cuz I work at the hospital. I told her I know y'all cuz I wor to the hospital when I was doing security there. So I know a lot of officers sit right there beside me but I don't do security no more. I'm in another department. I do ER registration. So I see what I can believe him. >> Yeah, I can believe. >> Hey, what's the name of the girl that said I saved her life? >> Remember? >> That's the thing. She wasn't giving me her 14. That's why I was trying to get her to talk to you. You know what I'm saying? >> I don't remember her name though. >> Save her life. What were you saying? >> Something was happening one night and she was some gang members were trying to do something to her. >> She wasn't talking to me. That's why I was like, "Hey, there's Reed. You want to talk to >> Oh, yeah. My daughter, she got in the in my car and went down on the baby cuz that's her nephew on her dad's side." >> Hey, I got the mom's here. I ran out in the car. >> I'm going to go in the hospital with him. See if we can find out where the gun is. Then >> when she sees you, she going to be happy to see you. She died. >> Yeah, I seen her out here. >> You see I'm talking about my daughter. You see before got here kind of got a fresh cut, you know, trying to look young. >> No, they got swag. Listen, this got swag. >> What they say? >> That's what they say. What you say? >> It's I can only imagine how it look outside the work club. [laughter] >> All right. your head down in the hospital. Thank you very much. >> Okay. Thank you. >> What's your daughter's name so I remember? >> Can Thank you. >> Though the grandfather tried to recount everything. All police had were the sound of a gunshot and the child's terrified scream. >> Sir, how are you today? Is that your son? >> No, that's not him. That's other baby. >> Okay. I'm going to take you right here so you can sit down. All right. >> You got your ID with you? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> The officer already got it lowered down. >> All right. How old are you, sir? >> 56. >> 56. Okay. If you would, please raise your right hand. You swear that everything that you told me so far and everything that you're about to tell me is the truth. >> Yes. >> Tell me what happened today. >> I went out there. I was working in the house. I went out there to hold my son. She didn't come help me. Came out my grandma and came out and talked to me. Then he told the grandma to go in the house cuz I was going to leave. I hear a pop. Next thing I know, the grand baby come out screaming, grab me. >> What house were you at when the incident happened? >> Friend Village. >> Friend Village. Do you know the address there? >> Okay. And the friend village address, that's his girlfriend's house. >> That's his girlfriend. >> What's his girlfriend's name? And at about what time do you think you you came? >> I couldn't tell you. At my house, we went stuck all by myself. So, I didn't even look at the time, but I know when we made it here, it had to be 12:40. So, this happened probably about 12:20. >> About 12:20. Yeah. So, you got to the house probably about 12:20. I'm not holding you to to the time. How far do you live from the house that you came over? Two miles. >> Two miles. So, it didn't take you long at all to get over there. Before you came over to the house, were you and your son talking? >> No. You weren't on the phone. You just showed up at the house because you knew he was there. Yeah. >> Is that what you said? Okay. So, you came over there. Was anybody outside when you pulled up in the driveway? >> No. I blow the horn. Him and the kids came out. >> And when you say kids, there's more than one kid that they >> K3. I don't know his real name. I don't know his real name. >> You call him K3? >> Yeah. >> How old is he? >> Seven, eight. Seven or eight. Is that also your son's? >> No. Child. >> His father was the guy that just was talking when we were walking. That's his father right there. >> Okay. You came over there about 12 something. Not exactly sure at the time. When you got over there, nobody was outside. You blew the horn. Your son came out with the two kids. Yeah. >> Okay. At the time that they came out for the two kids, what was happening? Were they saying anything? >> Yeah. He was saying, "Granddaddy, I want another Jeep." All that. I told him, "Grand got the money right now. Wait till your birthday or Christmas." And then he was jumping on the truck. That's what my son just keep jumping on the door playing with me. And my son told him, "Say, y'all go in the house. I'll be ready." Soon as they went in the house, I heard a pop and my son went running. >> All right. About how long do you think the interaction happened with you and the kids and jumping up and down? >> Three or four minutes. >> Three or four minutes. >> So about 3 or 4 minutes, you got there, you blew the horn. After 3 or 4 minutes, they came out. You talked for a little bit. You heard a pop and your son ran. >> My son Yeah. told him say, "Y'all go in the house. I'm going to come in the house cuz he he keep him. He be watching." So he walked back and he was going to walk back. He was even all the way with me. He had just walked off from me going to the house and heard a pop. >> You originally said they were outside jumping around. >> But he told him to go in the house. He on his way. He said, "Y'all go in the house. I'm coming." >> Yeah. You didn't tell me that yet. That's >> That's what I just told you. Didn't I tell him that? I said he told him to go in the house and he was on his way walking away from my van to go in the house. >> After that, [snorts] everything descended into chaos. But amid the tangled story, one thing was clear. The gun was never safely stored and the adults were careless in protecting the child. >> What I mean is when when we're originally talking about them jumping up and down, I didn't hear you say that. Okay. >> You just clarified that just now. You see what I mean? At some point after they were jumping up and down on your car, they walked away cuz your son told you. >> He told him to go in the house. >> You two were still out at the car. >> By the time they made it to the porch, the two the baby went in first. The other one was out there throwing a ball. My son was walking off on the truck. >> Okay. He was going in be right behind me and he heard a pop and he ran. >> All right. When your son ran, what did you do? >> Jumped out my truck and ran over there, too. >> Okay. When you ran over there, what did you see? And what did you hear? >> Baby crying and my son grabbed him and br him over there to me. I say, "Wrap his hand up." And they did. And I br here. All right. Say they house is right there at that tree. >> Okay. >> I'm in the parking lot right here with his thing. Because somebody tried to back out. That's why I had to move from in front of the house. So you're from here to the blue. >> I'm from that tree. >> From the tree down right here. >> That house. >> Correct. >> And when the kids, he told me the kids to go in the house. They walked in the house. Baby boy walked in first. The other boy was throwing the ball on the porch like walking to the house. He heard a pop. My son took off. My son was already walking toward the house. Son took off. I took off. When I got back to this black thing, my son was coming out with his son. My heart dropped. >> Oh, he was already coming out. >> Yeah. He was coming with the baby. >> Okay. So you never made it in to see what was going on in the house? >> No. No. your son telling you anything? >> No. He said, "My baby, my baby." And he grabbed the baby. He grabbed the towel. My other boy said, "What happened?" It seen the on his hand. Grabbed the towel, wrapped it up, and I just put him in the truck. >> The other son that was at the house that grabbed the towel to help wrap what's his name? >> My other son's at >> Where's he at? >> He probably I don't know where he at really. I don't. That mother was just out there cuz I was talking. He was supposed to help me too. >> He never came to the hospital after that incident. And you never heard from him on the phone? >> No. He called me and asked me, "Is the baby all right?" That's it. When he called you and asked you, "Was the baby all right?" Did he tell you anything about what he had seen? >> No, he didn't see nothing cuz he when he when he came, he pulled up. I was talking y'all supposed to help me move stuff out the house and he just walked in. He walked got out of his car, walked and then when he heard the noise, he just grabbed the towel, gave it to him, and I took off. >> So, but at the point he grabbed the towel, he was in the house. Where did he grab the towel from? >> Out of his car. >> Was there any type of conversations going on in the house about >> No. She was saying because J Sean was freaking out about his baby. He was telling them he was saying, "Hold on. I don't know what's going on. I don't know." She pretty much didn't know what was going on. And it wasn't her fault cuz she had just walked around the corner. They had just looked like they were just getting up. Look like all of them look like they were just getting up. See, and the kids usually go to school. I guess they missed Baby Jay. I know about him cuz I pick him up from day. >> And when you heard that pop, that sound like a firecracker. What direction was that coming from? >> Uhhuh. That's what made my son just take off. He was already walking down when he heard the pop. He took off. Do you know the dynamics of the house? You've been in the house before? Yes. What part of the house was that coming from? That part? >> I couldn't tell you cuz I went inside. >> No, but I mean, you heard it, right? >> Front. It had to be in the front. >> Had to be in the front. >> Yeah. Had to be in the living room. >> Was your grandson saying anything as you were driving him over here? >> No, he actually was tough to quiet. He didn't say nothing. He stopped crying after my son grabbed him cuz I think my son scared him. >> That car. Are you the registered owner of the vehicle that sparked over there? No one else's name is on that? >> No, ma'am. >> All right. Do you give us permission to go in and actually look inside the car? Detective Jazir is going to want to do that. >> I had to wait that my son saw itself with by me being in the panic. The gun was by the door at first, but there was so much people outside. I was in the pic. I was grabbing the gun and put it somewhere. I grabbed him and ran outside. I couldn't even They said it's not right though and my door left open. A lot of people was outside. I don't know. So I I was trying to see like some stuff together or something. I don't know. I can't remember where I placed it at. >> Whose is it? >> It's mine. Is it my name? It's mine. It's mine. >> Now even the car was sealed off for investigation. >> Take overall pictures and everything first so we have exactly what we have. I'm going to open up do the same thing inside. And after that we can look at everything. >> Starting out with the driver's side. Correction on that. the passenger side front of the vehicle and I'm going to work my way around the vehicle. It's taking images of everything just the way it is. I've already took it. So, as I'm going around, if you want to look at anything while I'm doing it, that'll be great. Did you check this box already? >> No, I just took overall pictures and I'm working my way around now to meet you as we're doing the search. And I'm just taking pictures of everything as I'm seeing it. Looks like it's possible that this might come off. >> This is one solid panel. >> That doesn't come off. Yeah. >> This one doesn't. >> Where do you think the gun could have gone if you said >> I don't know. I don't know what they did after that cuz I know they wouldn't they ain't had no conversation. They ain't call nobody. She tried to call her mom. Tell her mom. >> If you knew where it was, you would >> I would I would tell them to GIVE IT TO YOU. BRING GIVE IT TO YOU CUZ IT'S REGISTERED to him. Instead of making things worse, give it to you. Give them the goddamn give them people a gun cuz that would make things go way smoother. And instead of you hiding it, make like like you trying to hide something. Yeah, that would go. I mean, if it if it was if it's an accident, it's an accident. >> Accident. Yeah. >> So, it just not making any sense that >> the gun. >> It's just gone. >> I just asked them right there. Ryan Rhyme up. You know where the gun at? Get them keep the gun. These damn children make things harder than what it's supposed to be. >> Who did you have in the car with you? >> I had the mother, baby, and my son. >> And that was it. >> That was it. And me. >> And your son didn't have anything on him. >> No, he had his baby and he had nothing. If If it's gone, it had to be one of them nosy [ __ ] out in there and got that gone. Did y'all leave the house unlocked when you left? >> They ain't locked the door or nothing. She She didn't even She didn't even shut the damn door. She just jumped in the van and left. You know the door was open. >> Was there anybody at the house? No. >> Did you see anybody else outside hanging out? >> No. After the after the gunshot and everybody would try to come out the door, you know, once you hear a gunshot, people call. Everybody came. We was already taking off. >> Final statements from the parents help police put the pieces together and close the case. >> All right. If it's in the house, like you said, you left in the house. It's in the house. Who called 911? >> My sister. Your sister. Where was his sister at? >> All of was outside. >> So she don't not call 911. >> Yes, she don't want to talk about police detail. >> And she was at the house. >> Yeah, she stay right beside me. Like basically everybody was like outside on their porch. My dad pulled up. He was in my parking lot. Everybody was just talking about their business. When they heard it and they see me panicking and me saying he got shot, she started panic. Call the police. >> So what did doctor say to you about the your son? >> He good. You know what I'm saying? What does that mean? >> Um he just scraped top it. I guess you spray um some tissue right here. So they go send to the trauma center and say go here by itself. So you really got to do nothing but wrap it up or put nail on it. >> And that's happening sometime today. >> Yeah. They scared it and send them off. >> Okay. >> Yeah, we we we're working on that. So who could have have access to your house? >> The door left wide open. I know my little girl was thinking putting the door, but she end up going back around the corner. I don't know. >> All right. I'm going go inside real quick. I'll let you know what's going on. Okay. Although the child suffered only superficial injuries, the father was still arrested and held on serious charges of a child causing great bodily allowing a minor access to a loaded resulting in injury [music] or death. Under Florida law, he could face up to 20 years in prison, a $15,000 fine, and bail set at $50,000 or more. >> Excuse me. Is his dad on the phone? They want to speak with somebody about what's going on. >> What's going on? >> That's his dad. >> Hello. >> Hello. >> Hello, sir. How you doing? It's Corporal Reed. Yes, sir. He's being arrested. Cold due diligence for the child to get hold of a firearm. Now, he's coming out here to the West Detention Center, which is in Belg. I'm assuming it's somewhere between 3,000 and 5,000. It's a third degree felony. With a bomb, it'll either be 300 or 500 to get. >> No, 300. >> Yep. No problem. >> Gun ownership is a right, but not a privilege for everyone. If you can't protect your child from the very gun in your home, then you never deserve to have it. Life can place adults in stressful, but a child's safety must always remain the top priority. While laws and authorities help preserve order, true responsibility lies with the choices adults make. Staying calm, cooperating, and focusing on a child's well-being can prevent serious consequences and set an example of care, responsibility, and awareness for the next generation.
