I provided you with the person who is in charge. >> Let's go. >> Nope. You're staying here. >> No. >> In today's body cam, we get to meet someone who thinks that they're capable of winning an argument simply because they just won't stop talking. This woman walks into a Starbucks clearly upset about a refund. But instead of taking the issue up with corporate like a normal person, Jay decides to hold an entire store hostage with her attitude until she gets what she wants. And even after the employees told her to leave, management told her to leave, even the police told her to leave, she somehow thought to herself, I should probably argue this a little bit harder. >> On May 26th, 2024, officers were dispatched to a Starbucks in response to reports of an unruly customer. about that. We're not sure what's going on. >> Are they in the back of the store or in the store? >> Yeah, in the back of the store. >> What's going on? >> We just have a customer. >> Where's she at? Last I saw, she was out here at the door. >> Inside? >> Yes. >> Oh, why are you guys out here? >> Oh, I was just letting the customers know >> they sent me back here. Can we go through here? >> Yes. >> What? You just wanted to leave. What's wrong with her? Um, so yeah, we just >> All right. What's she look like? >> Where at? Oh, is this the way? What? The one with the Hey, wait. The one with the cell phone. Where? Is she still here? Did she leave? >> Sh. Leave. Brandon Blue. All right. >> Oh, I'm on the phone with Corporate. >> That's okay. >> And I would like my refund. >> Well, I can't make them give you a refund. That's >> Oh, yes, they can. They already going to have to leave once a week. >> Give me my refund cuz I never had a problem. >> I like I understand that that's actually have the issues with them like just like hotels and they kick people out and stuff but we can't force people. >> I paid my money and I would like my refund and I'm asking you nicely and I'm telling you right now, >> but I'm on the phone with you. But they want you to leave. I'm not leaving. So this is where you might have money. This is working. >> In what way is she talking or speaking to this police officer in a way that makes us believe that all she was trying to do was get her money peacefully? Like what? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You are clearly not being nice about anything. So, let's just be truthful, shall we? You want your money. You're a bit pissy now. You should probably listen to the police. Otherwise, this is going to escalate. And um this is probably going to escalate. >> Okay. >> All I got to do is I'm going to go out there and put a citation and then when you don't have and you're going to get arrested. >> You not going to trust? Yes. >> You're going to give me a refund nicely because I asked for one and see your >> Oh, I don't have it. >> Don't have it. >> I'm telling you right now. So now if you're not leaving and you refuse to leave and they're telling you trespass if I don't have enough restraining order, sweetheart, >> look, I'm not You have to go. All right. Don't make this. >> Why are you referring to this police officer as sweetheart? Are you being passive aggressive? And I don't think that we needed to know to ax you to know that you were not actually being nice about it. Okay. Nothing about your attitude says you were doing anything nicely. Stop lying and be truthful. And for the love of God, comply before your ass gets arrested. >> You have to get two different tickets. If they want you to leave, call corporate. >> I'm on the phone with corporate. >> I got you, babe. You got to go >> after they give me my refund. I'm sitting right here and you're sitting right here. Why can't you just get my refund? >> Because I This is a civil matter. >> I need my refund. >> You're not getting your refund from us. We can't do that. You have to get it from corporate. >> No, I can get it from them. I never had a problem here. I've been coming for 3 years. >> See if she doesn't want to identify. She doesn't want to leave. See if they got a name like on a card she used or something. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. You still have to go out here. >> You can get your hand on my face. I tell you. >> Yes. >> Okay. So, she's pissed off. It's a female. She's pissed off because she wants her refund back, but uh they won't give it to her. I told her it's a civil matter. She's absolutely refusing to leave and she won't give her identification with it. So, I told her they want your trespass. So, you got to go. She doesn't want to identify and she's refusing to leave. >> Quick question for you. >> Would you be able to pull up her order history and see if she had a name with her order? >> Sure. I can definitely try. >> All right. if she's either going to leave. >> My opinion, even if they can find her name in her order, she should still get an obstruction charge. They clearly asked her for her name, she should be giving her name because they were called on her. So, if she doesn't end up with an obstruction charge, I'm going to be pissy because even if they find her name through her order, she didn't willingly give it when asked. To me, that's obstruction. And she's just straight up pissing me off. So, I want to see her charges escalated. >> You want your name or we're going to arrest her? >> Okay. All right. Just make sure 100% they want her gone. >> All right. All right. So, listen up. So, here's the deal. When the manager comes out and says you got to go, I'd really like you leave. If you don't want to leave, we're going to arrest you. >> Can you please get out of my face? >> Well, I'm just telling you what your options are. >> And I ask for a refund. >> Okay. I hear you. I heard you. You've heard me all three times. I told you. >> And I heard you every time you told me. >> Soon as the manager comes and we're going to arrest you if you don't leave. >> You got about You got about a minute. stations are gone. >> They're going to try to pull up to see if she's in her app. >> And they do 100% want her off the property. >> Oh, she's got to leave. >> All right. Well, let me come find them real fast. >> All right. Hey, where's the manager at? Go get the manager real quick. >> Yeah, tell her to come here. >> Oh, you can stand right here. He's not going to do anything. >> What's going on today? >> I already explained it to him and he got rude with me and that's how it's going to happen. >> I just got here. I don't know what's going on >> because the lady I asked for a refund. They say that I'm trespassing. How in the world am I trespassing? I already talked to corporate and they literally said that's not called trespassing. I don't have a response. >> Look, I know I know you guys are busy and you got stuff going on, but we got the situation out here and you guys got to make choices. So, she's condition you guys want her to go. She's refusing to leave. We're going to arrest her. You have to I have to hear you tell me I want her arrested and I I want her off the property and I want her trespass. >> That is exactly what we want. >> All right. >> So, what is what is her issue? >> I we don't really know. She started was she had ordered >> a drink. >> Okay. Do you have your ID? >> All right. So, have you ever been trespassed up here before? All right. >> I've been here coming for almost 3 years and I never had a problem until y'all got >> Okay. So, why were you asking for a refund? >> Because they didn't give me my order, but then she got ruled with me in this driveway. >> Okay. >> And I could say, "Can I get a refund?" She would not give me a refund. So, I came inside and asked for a refund. She still wouldn't give me a refund and she walked to the back and walk out. >> All right. So, what what did you order? >> Question. If she gave you something that you didn't want, could you not just give it back and then they give a refund? Like, I I guess I don't understand what the big deal is. Did she want to keep the the product? Did she want to keep the food or drink and still get her money back? And she's demanding that she gets her money back without returning the merchandise. Is that the problem? Because if everything was done how I would assume it's done at a business where you're serving customers, if you give them something and they give it back, you give a refund. So, where is the disconnect here? I'm failing to see it. I want to know specifics because I don't feel like anybody has told us yet. She gave something back and didn't get the refund or she didn't give something back and she is demanding a refund. I need to know more details because I am failing to see where the problem is here. >> This drink clearly haven't touched it. >> Okay. >> And um some chocolate chip cookies or something. >> Did you get the cookies? >> They're in the truck. >> They're in the truck. So you got everything you paid for. >> I just want to tell you 100% I want to do this for the last trip. >> I'm talking to him now. >> I got you. You're going to leave or you're getting arrested. >> I'm not talking. >> So So here here's the deal. >> Mhm. >> They they don't want you on the property anymore. Where's the lady that said she don't want me on the property? >> The manager said that >> they told me to get her name, too. >> Okay. So, >> when you >> So, hold on a second. Let me let me explain it. >> That's fine. >> With management not wanting you on the property, >> they have the right to ask you to leave. And they also have the right >> at that point at that point in time told me to get the name. So, before I can know who it was, they sat there and hadn't called you guys. >> So, let's slow down a little bit. >> Okay. >> Whenever management asks someone to leave, it does become trespassing. >> She's not a manager though. >> That doesn't matter. I mean, if you are told to leave by the establishment, you need to leave. Whoever is acting manager, she might be the night manager. She could be the assistant manager. You don't have to be the store manager. You just have to be an individual in charge of the establishment at the time that you are issuing trespass. Okay, here is the problem. She has her drink. She has the cookies in her car, and she's still demanding a refund. At this point, the logical thing I could be the crazy person here, but the logical thing in my brain says, "Ma'am, give me the drink. Give me the cookies. Here's your money back and you're officially trespassed and you're not welcome back here." Maybe she'll leave if she just gets her money back. Maybe she will. Maybe she's just refusing to leave because she's not getting her money back. But if that's the case, lady, you got to give the goods back. You want the refund, you got to get the cookies out your car. You got to give her your melted Frappuccino. Okay? You got to give her the [ __ ] back to get your money. I don't understand why THIS IS GOING BAD SO QUICKLY. Give the stuff back. Get your money. Get trespassed. Go. She might be pissed off that she gets trespassed, but at least she'll get her refund. I don't understand. This seems like a weirdass miscommunication. Where is the business professionalism in all of this? This is not a difficult problem to solve. I can understand trespassing her if she's being difficult, but get the stuff back. Give her her money back. Now, it's a whole other deal if she's refusing to give the stuff back and still wants her refund. I want to know if she's just simply refusing to give the stuff back and she just wants her money back. Because if she's willing to give the stuff back for a refund, why haven't they done that? Anyone anyone who is an employee here has the right to ask >> their manager and she's not a manager. So what is her name? And then I will I already talked to corporate. They said her name. You're constantly getting in my face and I don't want to talk. You're about to get arrested. >> I don't want to talk. You're about to go to jail. >> I don't want to talk to her. I'm not going to >> I asked you. Can you please give me her name? So I can leave. I will leave after I get her name so I can let Corporate know. >> You can stop looking. I'm talking to him. He's been more crime than you have. He's been rude. Please leave me alone. Anyways, can you please get her name? >> I can try to get her name. However, I cannot force her to give me give me her name. >> So, that's that's crazy because you can force me to leave, but you >> because at this point you are trespassing because we've warned you to leave the property. >> Anyways, can you please don't give me her name? >> Let me see if I can grab her name real quick. >> Mhm. Thank you. Now, you can step away from >> I'm not going anywhere. >> You can step away. >> Look, I don't know why you think you can tell me what to do. >> I don't care. >> You're the one who's You're the one who's think I tried to nicely get you to leave. You don't want to listen. I'm telling you what, I'm not going anywhere. In fact, if he doesn't get the name, you don't leave, you are getting arrested and you're going to jail. That's what's going to happen to you. >> You'll see. >> Okay. We'll see if you don't leave. >> You got till he gets back >> and you can get out of my face. >> It's not happening. >> It is. >> I've got a real quick question. Do you guys have a manager here? >> Okay. So, technically I'm the shift supervisor. I do. Our manager is going to be here in like 2 minutes. >> Okay. Um, so she agreed. I guess she either called corporate, did something with corporate >> and they're saying that they need a manager's name or someone who's in charge their name. >> Okay. >> If if I can get just something to give her to get her to leave. Either that or we're going to arrest her. So >> yeah. No, I can totally do that. Um, well, you can let her know that is a charge. >> That That's all I need. >> Okay. But the manager, the store manager that's not even there is not the one that has officially trespassed. So, shouldn't that mean that she wants the name of this individual that the police officer is talking to? And isn't this individual wearing a name tag? Like, it's not very hard to get someone's name when they're wearing a literal name tag with their name on it where you can read it. Just saying. pretty much everything to dig at the end of like the situation. And it just kind of seemed like no matter what was said or done, she was getting more and more infuriated, more verbally towards us, cussing, screaming, things like that. And then even went as far as to back up the drive-thru for however many minutes, and then came inside and was still trying to cause problems with Paris. So, >> it's been the same thing with us. So, >> okay. Yeah. I I'm like, I I don't know if I did the right thing here. I didn't want to ask later this morning. >> We'll tell her she's not allowed back on the property, so she won't be allowed up here anymore. >> You're still in my face. >> I'm not going anywhere. >> Neither am I. >> You're so cute though. You're just so adorable. >> Step out of my face, please. Thank you. >> Not going anywhere. >> That's not the manager right there. So, >> he doesn't have to give your name. All right. So, we keep telling you everything. You're the one who won't listen. >> No, he said he's going to get the manager name. Hey, I do want to let you know that she even though she started refusing she doesn't have a kid too probably 10. What's her last name? >> Her her name is that her name is >> That was not the manager that came. She just came. >> She is the one who is in charge. >> She was not here though. You're a lion and so are they. >> I'm not lying. >> That's what I'm saying. She wanted the name of the lady that he was just talking to. She's like, "I don't give a [ __ ] about the name of the manager that wasn't even here. I don't need the name of the store manager that wasn't trespassing me. I want the name of that chick. That one right over there that was fighting with me and telling me to get out and the one that called the police on me. That's the name I want." Which, man, if she would have like calmed herself down during this entire situation and just looked at her name tag, then she would have her name. but she failed to do that. So that sounds like a lack of due diligence on her part. So time to get out. >> It's all in her name. You can look on the camera and see that was not her name. >> All right. So So here here's the deal. I provided you with the person who is in charge. >> Let's go. >> Nope. You're staying here. >> You're staying here. >> Let me go. Give me your hand. >> Let me go. Don't grab me. >> My hair. >> Get off me. >> You want to get tased? >> Get the off hand. >> It is bad enough that your children are having to watch you be taken down by two police officers. It's bad enough that they're watching this happen to you. You're really going to tell them to film it? You're gonna hand them the phone and be like, "Record this. Record this." You're gonna make your kids your camera person while your ass is getting taken down. Do you not realize that this is traumatizing enough for them without adding to it? The pressure of making sure to get it all on camera. Oh my god. I just got a lot more angry. Like I just got a lot more pissed off at this chick. >> Don't do that. Please. Please. Please don't do that. >> Got to call Ariel. >> Now, come and get my phone. Come and get my phone. >> Stay back there right now. >> She got to get my phone. >> I DON'T CARE. Shut up. >> You shut up. >> 135 custody. >> CALL YOUR DADDY. >> HURRY UP. >> That's yours. TELL HIM TO HURRY UP. >> Get off me so I can get up, dumb ass. >> Get off my >> I'm sorry, dumbass. You not realizing that you're the problem in this situation and that you're making it worse. Do you hear her children saying, "Please don't do that. Please don't do that." That's absolutely freaking heartbreaking. I just She was so sure. She was so sure that she could just do whatever she wanted and she wasn't going to be put in handcuffs. And now her kids are having to witness this. I wonder if this is the first time. >> [ __ ] DID YOU JUSTING LEAN ON ME TO GET UP? >> Stay down right now. >> Get off of me. >> And I SAID I CAN'T BREATHE. GET OFF ME. >> SO YOU'RE READY TO get up. You're just >> And I JUST SAID LET ME UP. >> Sit up. I can't wait for you mother to get fired from y'all. Get the away from me until I calm down right now. >> Come here. Hey, come grab my phone. >> We'll wait. >> Hey. Um, can you come grab my phone so I can call a friend? Come here so Eric can COME AND GET YOU HERE. COME AND GET MY PHONE SO I CAN GET you the damn number. Come and get my phone. I will give it to her. Please don't touch me. >> Wait a minute. >> Can you please come and get my phone? >> What's your name? >> [ __ ] Tag. She'll know when you call. Get out of MYING WAY. HURRY UP AND CALL QUINCY. Please come and get me and my kids. If you don't get AWAY FROM MY PHONE, >> I CAN DO WHAT I WANT RIGHT NOW. YOU'RE under arrest >> AND I'M TRYING TO >> DO YOU understand me? >> You're under arrest. >> I said, >> I've been nice with you this whole time. >> Yeah. And you got room when he came out. I'm at Starbucks in O and these THREW ME ON THE GROUND. Mine are completely torn to pieces. So, >> hurry up AND GET UP HERE RIGHT NOW. >> Just making sure I'm not dripping blood. >> You didn't care if I was. >> You know, I gave you multiple opportunities. >> No, you didn't. It took two of you to get ME ON THE GROUND and you threw me on the ground. >> Get the HELL OUT OF MY FACE WITH THAT BULL CRAP. >> I'm not in your face. If you want to see in your face, I'll get in your face. >> And we going to have a whole contest of you. YOU ARGUING IN MINE, I'M GOING ARGUE RIGHT BACK. >> AWESOME. I've got all day. >> And so do I. Pooky butt. >> All right. Since we got another officer here, you go in the back of that car. >> That's fine, too. But I'm not leaving until my uncle come and get my kids. >> Well, you still go in the back of the car. So, you keep telling us what you're not going to do, >> Quinton. Can you hurry and get her name? >> All you would have had to do is leave. I don't know why you caused all this trouble. >> Because I asked for a refund. What the hell? >> We don't get We can't make them give you a refund. >> And you couldn't. You sat there and then YOU LIED ON THE TOP OF THE NAME OF THE GIRL NAME AND THAT WASN'T HER NAME. >> Body my body cam. >> Pull it. >> YOU CAN [laughter] >> AGAIN. I DON'T CARE if you ask for a refund. Okay. Nobody cares that you asked for a refund. You were told to leave. This entire escalation is your fault. Like, it's all your fault. It's all your fault. And now it's your fault that your children are probably going to need therapy because they watched you get taken down by two police officers. Did you hear her child sobbing? Did you hear her child sobbing? I literally felt my heart breaking hearing that child cry. And that's your fault, [ __ ] That's your fault. That's your doing. All of this is your doing. I still want to know what was wrong with her food. What the [ __ ] was so wrong with her food that she needed to ask for a refund? Oh, I never say it, but I'm going to say it. Fatigue. I am so fatigued. Or maybe I'm not fatigued cuz I'M NOT BLACK. I DON'T KNOW. BUT GOD, BLACK fatigue is real. >> I asked for the name and I [laughter] provided you and I provided you with the name. The girl that came to the window was not >> Do you want to listen to me? >> Like I said, >> do you want to listen to me? >> I said what I said >> for a third time. Do you want to listen to me? >> Obviously not. >> That time I said the same thing. >> Obviously not. >> All right. Well, hurry up because they talking about soon >> they talking about soon as another cop car come they taking me. And I said, "I'm not leaving until somebody come get my kids." >> Do you want? >> And then he he pressed on my back to get up off the ground. Bro, he literally pressed on my back to get his big ass up off of me. You could have used something else to get your ass off of me. You going to use my back? >> Are you Are you a kid's father? >> I'm her uncle. >> Okay, listen. Hey, stay over here. Don't go over there. Stay here. >> I want to know. >> I'm going to tell you what's going on. She's being arrested >> for what? >> Well, so first of all, all she had to leave was was leave the store. She didn't want to leave. trying to identify that she resisted arrest and then what she did. Either way, she's going to jail. She's waiting for somebody to pick up. >> He trying to GET IN YOUR FACE. HE'S LYING. I NEVER resisted arrest. I came out the door and I walked out and I told let's go. Then the two right there threw me on the ground. >> Exactly. >> We got on the way to search. She's still going she's still going to jail. >> I mean, he's lying. then decided to dump her drink out and come to walk out and we stopped her for to give her a trespass and she began >> resisting and they wouldn't give me my refund. I kept talking with corporate on the phone and they said just stay on the phone and >> the agreement was as long as she got the name of the major whoever was in charge she'd leave. I provided that and I lied. >> According to her I lied. She went late, >> but for what that any business around here >> and don't give it to nobody. >> She dumped it out right in front of me and it splattered all over the place. >> But it didn't get on you, though. >> It did. It got on my feet. Thank you very much. >> No, I didn't. >> That's all right. I lied to you already. So, >> I did. You've been lying the whole time, sir. >> So, do you know her? >> No, I was just walking by the baby in a panty. >> Darling, who are you talking to? Are you talking to daddy? >> That is my big brother. >> Okay. How old is he? >> How old is he? >> I'm trying. Look, sweetie. I'm trying to help you. I promise. I just want to make sure somebody can come here and get you. Okay. >> Well, uh, I just spoke with I guess their grandmother and also there's an aunt and yes, they're supposed to be in the way. The gr the aunt told me she was coming from Granite City, so it'll be a minute, but I said that I will wait. I just cuz there's actually two other children sleeping in the back seat here. >> So, >> they all came in that car. >> Yeah. When a business calls, any business in this town and they tell us that they want somebody to leave, they have every right to do that. Now, us as the police, we cannot make anything that's between the customer and the business happen. So, if a customer wants a refund, we can't make them do that. >> No, I'm saying she said >> I got you. >> We give her a refund. >> Yeah, but they all they all called us here and said she's done and they wanted to go. I made I made them tell me three or four times >> how did it get to this >> I'm trying to get there if you ever I'm saying you explaining that but I'm just saying I as it get to this she just you agre >> so she's saying how she wanted was a refund right she agreed to give her this why did it get to this is what I'm saying for you to be here >> well cuz we were called cuz she was unruly >> yeah she was becoming her right on the phone and was following her to the back >> I gave gave her more than enough times to leave. >> I checked three times with your police said if you want her gone and she want to leave, we're going to arrest her. And she refused to leave. And then she threw a drink on the other officer. >> So that see that she's got that's two different charges she's got right now. She threw that drink on the other officer and she refused to leave. Charge. I already told her at least at least five times if you don't leave right now, you're getting arrested. >> Who is Stitch? Like who is who is Stitch talking to this police officer? I don't think enough time has passed to where this is someone who is associated with this crazy woman. Who is this guy? Is he just someone who was just like walking by? Because it sounded like this other bystander that has the kids. The the little child was on the phone talking to like grandma, aunt, something. Who is this guy? Who is this guy? Is this just a guy who's just like walking by asking a bunch of questions? If he is, why is the police officer talking to him? I understand that it's not doing any harm to answer some basic questions, but who the is this guy? Did I miss it? Is this guy like associated with her in some way? Are we going to like backtrack and and see what I missed or something? But seems like Stitch is sticking his nose where it doesn't belong. >> She said, "You're not arresting me." And she stayed. So that's that's she's on the phone with I got you. I've explained this situation enough times. So, >> but I feel like this whole talking about the drink, >> dude. I I I I gave her probably 10 chances to leave. Okay. >> She absolutely She's like, "You're not arresting me for me to search her." >> Yeah. Then we'll put Which part we put her in there? >> Put her in this part here because of your elbow. So, I'm assuming you got >> Yeah, me and the drink. And the drink. >> What's the drink? >> She threw the drink down in front of him. That was >> She poured it out. We got We got trespassing resisting. We'll take pictures of your injuries and we'll see >> what I gave her and I went >> take a break. >> Well, if one of you guys can keep working out, I don't even know her name yet. >> So, here's the other thing. >> I probably gave I'm telling you, ask him. I probably gave her 10 times. I was like, just leave. >> And then I And then I made them confirm three times that she's getting arrested. She's not You're not arresting me. So, here's our other problem. She's got she's got three kids, >> and that's at the point. Imagine he's probably going to be able to >> There's three kids. Uncle's taking the kids in her car. >> Okay. >> We'll transport her up there, get her booked, and go from there. >> Are you guys good? Cuz there's been a pending noise complaint for the past like 30 seconds. I'm not >> Get that coffee on the fly. >> All right. She's good. You know what? She's going to freak out when she gets in your car. So, we'll take her up for her. All right. And then we'll just take her. >> Yeah, we can do it. We're not going to do that after. Uh but I'll have we'll take her up to >> that. That way she stays calm for you. >> Do we want to obstruct the ID? >> She doesn't give it right away. She still hasn't given it. >> We still have her name. >> We'll grab that. >> She said give a name here, I guess. >> Yes. Yes. Yes. Give her an OBSTRUCTION CHARGE AS WELL. LAYER THAT [ __ ] ON. I am so freaking pissed that her kids had to witness that. The terror in her child's voice. Give her every freaking charge you can. Like just punish her. Punish her. I want to see her punished.
