Why don't Why don't you just have a seat >> for what? >> So I can do my job. >> Your job is done. >> My job is not done. >> Bye. >> All right. Do not clo do not close that door. >> You walk up these stairs and you come up one more. I'm going to take that as a threat and now I got every right to put you in the ground. >> That is not how this is. Do not do not >> do not what? >> Do not step away from me. Step away from me. >> You can't do to me in my house. >> Get down the stairs now. Get down here. County 9510 at taser point. With his defiant attitude, he pushed the officer's patience to the limit and they stormed straight into the house. >> Open the door. Open the door. Where's he at? >> You can't do anything. You're not allowed in my house. >> Get in here. >> Get over here. Get your hands up now. I am not doing this. Get youring hands up. Get youring hands up. >> Stop. >> Get your We're past this. Does that look like your back? >> Yep. They're behind my head. They're behind me. Hey. Hey. Hey. [Music] Do not move. Do you understand me? Get your other hand back here. >> I didn't tell you to move. Let's go, >> dude. Hey, hey, hey. I I'm being serious. >> I don't care what you are. >> Only at this point did he finally comply and follow the officers. Yet, he kept muttering curses without pause. >> This was simple. What you had to do was you had to follow. >> No. What was simple is I shut my door and I told you I didn't need you. >> I didn't care. Hey, he walked in my house. Unwalled. >> Do not move your hands. Do you understand me? >> Shut. You get off your power trip real quick, bud. You put >> You need to stop or you're getting ready to go back on the ground. >> Enough. >> Would have been simple had you just sat down. >> Get Get your hands off me, please. I haven't given him any kind of trouble. >> Is that why he had to point a taser at you? >> When he walked in my house unlawful, we're here for a disturbance. >> Sit down. >> No. Have a seat. >> Oh my. You just slam my mother. >> Who the >> Get in the seat. >> Who the you think you are? You slam my head off the wall. >> If you'd sit down, you get >> No. Get Get off me and I'll get in. Get your hands off me, mother. >> He's got his hands off you. You said you were going to get in. Get in. >> I am. Shut up. >> You got about 3 seconds before we put hands back on you. I'm going to put hands back on you and make you get the seat. Sit down. >> I'm in. Get your you you a big motherucker, aren't you? When when the tough be on someone's back. >> Back at the house, the mother recounted what the father had done. Torn between worry and a sense of relief. >> How you been? >> How you been, big guy? >> How's it going? >> He's like that all the time when he drinks. >> Yeah, I imagine you you would know. >> Yeah, I know him too well. >> Well, the kid called. >> The kid called? Yeah. >> That's fine. I'm fine. charges. >> Tina, are you okay? >> Yeah. >> All right. >> I I'm I'm not upset that he's going. I'm very grateful, but he's going to get and release and come right back. So, it's going to do us so good. Just holes in our balls cuz look at all these fireball and finally because he keeps yelling at my daughter. And so finally I said he raises his voice over to get to your room and and call 911. He doesn't know that I did it. I can't get by myself long enough just to get him to go cuz I can't stand the verbal and him breaking everything every time I blink. >> You know you're you're a little dog. I guarantee it. And I will press charges on this mother. We have one son together, but I have four other children and my children are biracial. Those four and I'm so tired of all the time recently hearing Nick this and Nick that and because I went and I didn't ask him for permission to buy that Jeep two and a half three years ago. I get I get I have to hear about that whole time and I bought a or got a loan and for my oldest son for his truck and and like he's in here trying to slam and everything and going on and carried on because I bought my or he thinks I only cosigned but cosigned him and choking and what if he wants something he should I should be able to cosign for him. >> Oh, I hope they let you out cuz I'll let my dog out. I don't need to and my dog is going toing you. Trust me, they can't do to me. I didn't do anything wrong. >> What did he break tonight? >> Nothing yet. >> Okay. >> Just slamming everything around. So, you know, it's it's getting ready to You see, this is how he fixes holes when he scotch tapes them. And I can't even use my stove because he flung across the kitchen a couple weeks ago and shattered the glass of the stove. >> Okay. >> Still, Brandon arrogantly insisted I did nothing wrong. >> She's right. The most we're going to be able to take him for is resisting. Then he's just going to go up. >> Here he goes. Yep. Let me go. No, I'm done. You ain't going to want this lawsuit cuz y'all going to get a lawsuit. Trust me. Slam my [ __ ] face, walked in my house with no warrant, threatened to tase me. Let's see how that holds up in court. >> The 12-year-old girl statement made everything clearer. At the same time, the mother bluntly said, "I want him out of here forever. >> I feel like I can be out here when he's not here. Cuz when he's not here and I'm out here, I can just like sit here and chill with my mom and everyone else and I'm I'm fine. As soon when he's here, I feel like he can't do that cuz he pesteres me or bothers me or yells at me for something. So, I kind of just stay in my room the entire time." >> Okay. So, what do you what do you want done? What What do you want to happen here? I want I want to know how I can get him just to be out of here for good. >> Has anybody talked to you about getting it like an emergency restraining order order protection or anything? >> I don't even know anything about those. >> Okay. So, what I'm going to recommend is uh go up to the Washington County Courthouse in Nashville. Okay. Go meet with usually the circuit clerk or somebody. They have they have an advocate there who can help you get the papers filed. But essentially, you you fill out the form. It goes to the judge and you tell the judge, "Hey, this is why this is what's going on." You know, you tell him the history. >> I was praying to God like at the beginning of this month, they were going to keep him. He went to court, but they just gave him another court date and extended it all the way up to June. Hi. >> The father is facing charges of domestic battery and resisting arrest. Under Minnesota law, he could face up to 10 years in prison, fines of up to $20,000, and bail as high as $60,000. His aggression and false sense of power only led the father into the justice system. While his family is still left with lasting fear and consequences, things could have been different if the adults had stayed calm and respected the law. But the 12-year-old girl's tragedy was not the only one. Nearly 1,000 mi away, another girl trembled, trying to escape her mother's grasp. >> Her hormones are crazy. And then her little head. She's got brain damage still in several other parts they didn't remove. On July 7th, 2024, police received an emergency call about an 8 to 10 yearear-old girl found hiding in the bushes, trembling and terrified, saying her mother had grabbed her arm and threatened to hit her. Officers quickly arrived at the scene where the mother tried to justify herself. She has mental issues. >> Hi, somebody call police on me. Yeah, I figured I was going to call myself because my daughter will not come out of the bushes and I got two babies up here. I'm babysitting, but I can't leave up there. She's got an epilepsy problem. Okay. So, she's got she's got a lot of brain damage. Call whoever you want to to confirm this. This is what she does because she sees specialists and stuff. >> Just take a breath. >> She sees specialists and stuff for her mental her brain wound and stuff like that. >> What she does when she's about to have major seizure, >> but I can't leave these kids up here alone. So, I keep going back and forth. >> Do I need to call >> my boyfriend is their grandfather and he like left to go get her seizure medicine. He hasn't come back. >> Okay. Do I need to call the ambulance to come check her out? I don't know because she probably will be okay cuz he's supposed to be here with her medicine. It's not that she showed any other signs other than she's been doing a lot better in the last few days. But I mean, I know to call him if I have to because I've had to do it 100 times before. I got to go check on these. Can you watch her for a second? I mean, I don't know what to do. I can't see these babies up here. >> Yeah. I mean, if you can I need you to come right back. >> I'm going to bring them down here with me. >> Okay. Can you grab your ID, too? >> No, I don't think I got it. It's in the truck. When he gets back, you can have it though. I'll tell you who I am. It seems that witness statements at the scene added even more weight to the initial charges. >> Hey, let me figure out how to come around you. Do >> you want me to go back upstairs? I was on the phone the whole time. >> What's going on? >> So, you know, my brother came and came by the house. He said, "There's a little girl outside." I'm like, "Little girl outside and she's, you know, she stood down or what's not." So, I just went outside because I was concerned cuz I don't know who that is. She stood down. She was sobbing. She was crying. She was, you know, she she's talking, but she's >> trembling like she's terrified. >> She was all by herself. >> All by herself. The way how she spoke is, you know, she's getting a in the house. Long story short, the mother came outside searching for her because you're hearing. >> She said, "I'm going to beat you." >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> And you heard it. >> Of course. >> I'm the one that came upstairs when she meet. >> That's what she said. >> Halfway. Let me tell you why I called. When she was halfway up the stairs, she saw me and her cousin with her. She went back downstairs in her apartment. You know, she didn't come up for her. >> She came up, she asked me if I see her. I said, "No, even I did because situation." >> Yeah, of course. >> Within her walking, I heard her. I overheard her saying I like that more than one. >> But despite that, the mother still plays the victim. >> Stay over here. Okay. >> Come out of the bushes, baby. This is ridiculous. >> I'm going to talk to her. I need you to stay over here. Okay. I need you to stay over here. Okay. >> I'm over here. >> I'm going to move over here. I'm on her way. It's my kid. Like, I don't know that she's allowed to question. She's got mental problems. I'll show you. Well, I can't because the old man who left me here took my phone. That's why I couldn't call you guys when she came up missing. >> Okay, that's fine. >> It's not fun. >> It's fine that you didn't have a phone to call her. The situation is obviously not fun. >> We had to show her scared straight videos because of her. What she does is is terrible, dangerous. >> I said, "What do you mean?" >> Like, she'll climb up to the top of the building. The building in the backyard. She's got seizure. She's able to pop them off. She has 16 a day sometimes. Freaking she'll go do the most dangerous thing she can find to do where we can't find her. I've had to call the police like seven or eight times to come find her and then she'll she ran off to the store and her daddy the other day run off to the store way down the road tells them that she's been tied up and we don't live together, but I know for a fact he didn't tie her up. All I want to do is get her back inside. And when her grandfather's back, I'm gone. >> Until the real victim appeared. And with a tearful cry, my mom dragged me. The truth finally came to light. out of here. >> Can I come close to you? >> You okay? >> That's okay. Are you okay? >> No, not really. >> Okay, we're going to have some nice people come check you out just to make sure you're okay. All right. Okay. >> Do you want a hug? >> What? >> Do you want a hug? >> Are you saying hide or hike? >> No. Do you want a hug? >> A hug? >> A hug? >> Yes. >> Okay. Come here. >> It's okay. >> It's okay. My name's Kayla and I'm going to help you. Okay. >> Mhm. >> Do you feel okay right now? >> No. >> Okay. What's wrong? >> I mean, right now I I don't even want to myself. That's pretty much only when I get mad. I only feel that way when I get mad. But that's about sadness. >> Okay. What are all these scratches on you? >> That's from my dog. He always likes to rustle with me. >> It's from your dog? >> Yeah. >> Your mom said you have seizures sometimes. Do you feel like you're going to have one right now or? >> No. >> No. Okay. Can I see your arms real quick? So, what happened? Did you come run to the bushes by yourself? >> It started out on the stairs. But then I heard my mom and then when she found me and left me for a minute, I ran to the bushes where where she couldn't get me by the arm. She got me by the arm and dragged me. >> She did? Let me see your arm. Where did she drag you from? Where on your arm? >> Right here. >> All right. Can I get you to stand up? Do you think you can do that for me? Do you think you can walk over here for me? Or do you want to walk that way? >> I want to walk this way. >> Okay. >> I don't want to be in front of people right now. >> That's okay. Does anything hurt? >> It hurts right here and right here from when I was bended. >> Okay, that's it though. >> Yeah. >> Yet the mother remained adamant in her denial. >> I don't spank my child. I do not fake her. I don't know what she's acting like she's afraid of. Nobody spures. We've loved and care for her ever since she caught it when she was 8 months old. all about attention cuz these little ones were getting attention too. >> From both sides accounts, police discovered one truth. Every detail was unbelievably contradictory. >> And I understand if you listen to >> No, you're not in trouble at all. Okay. >> Worrying about >> No, you're not in trouble. I promise you're not in trouble at all. Okay. >> My grandma told me that if I start feeling emotional, like sad or mad and need a long time not to hide, but to just go somewhere. So, I went on the step and my mother got furious and started running at me. I was just doing what I was told. >> Of course. Did you get hurt at Did your mom hurt you at all? >> She kind of made my arm go. She popped. >> It popped. Okay. Has she ever done anything like that before? >> No. >> Did she say anything? Here, you can wipe it on your shirt if you need to. >> No, cuz it doesn't belong to me. This is the only way it belongs to me. >> That's okay. You can wash it. >> Did she just walk out or was it unlocked? I just walked out. >> Was it unlocked? >> I don't know. >> Okay. She just got out. >> Yeah. I mean, she's capable of opening the door. At home, we have measurements for when she was younger. When she would do it younger, we had to, you know, make the doors to where she could not, you know, necessarily open them when we didn't want her to. Since she's been older, we just backed off of that technique because of the fact that you never know when like a fire is going to happen or something like that. >> And behind it was sadness. The girl lived with her grandparents, only wishing to see her mother, but was pushed away, even beaten. Did your mom say anything to you like she was going to hurt you or anything like that? >> She said cuss words and and she said when I find you I am going to whap your a word. >> Okay. >> And she also said she was going to f word my butt off. >> Has mom been drinking at all tonight? >> I don't know. I just came to visit. >> You came to visit? Where did you come to visit from? Do you live with someone else? >> I live on my grandparents. >> Who are the kids that mom's with? >> I don't know. I just the reason she picked me up to visit is to come and meet them. >> Do you come to mom's house a lot? >> No. If we went for there's a reason we don't get along much. We have the opposite kind of things. She's lazy and stuff and I'm energetic. >> I have some napkins in my car. You want to come get some napkins? >> I'm embarrassed to show my face in front of those kids. >> No, don't be embarrassed. It's okay. Do you feel okay around your mom or are you scared around your mom? >> I'm a little bit scared around my mom. She easily gets upset. >> So, you know how you said she grabbed you today? Has she ever done anything like that before? >> Yes, she has. And so is my dad. >> Go this way. And I have some friends who are going to come just check you out to make sure you're okay. All right. Can you get through that way? >> No. >> Let's go this way. >> To clear up all doubts. Police conducted a health check on the girl. >> So, she didn't have a seizure? >> No. Um her mom said sometimes when she's going to have one though, she goes and hides. And she was in the bushes. >> I mean, I don't go and hide anymore. I used to. >> Okay. >> But now I just when I need a break, I just go sit somewhere close to where I am. And that's what I did. What I did, I went to go sit by the step for a little break. >> Okay. And she's still got on me. I was following the rules. >> They're just going to look at your arms like I did. Okay. >> Well, let's stand in the shade. I'm sorry. This is too hot for you guys. Let's go stand right here in the shade. >> My daughter gets mad as she goes off. She's going to do it again now because >> it's because of us. You should go ahead and just tell them the truth about them in trouble. And >> we're not here to get anybody in trouble. We have >> Y won't let me go inside when I'm about to faint. >> Would you like to talk to the fire department that is here to help you guys? >> No. No. No. If you're about to >> If you're about to faint, if you're about to faint. >> Oh, no. Yeah, I know. I'm >> sorry. You're not. >> Let's just take a little breath here. Grandma and Grandpa, where do they stay at? >> In my custody, but for the summer, she was staying with them. But then I got came to get her today to come swim in the pool or whatnot. >> Are grandma and grandpa around? >> Yeah, they're around. They're not far from here. >> And then your boyfriend is here, you said, with the other two kids. >> Okay. Okay. >> Those are his grandchildren. >> Okay. Do you have a phone number for grandma and grandpa? >> I do. >> At the same time, they followed up on the statements, called the grandparents to confirm the truth, and bluntly warned the mother could end up in jail. >> Is there any way that you can come uh pick up? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Have you talked her mother? >> I have. >> What's going on? >> I was actually going to ask you, do you know does mom have custody? Well, she and my son have joint custody, but she has been staying with me and my son. Um, he works, so I keep her during the day, especially with school going on. And I would take her back and forth to school so he could work. So, that's the reason she was staying with me. Yeah. For at least a year and a half now. >> Okay. >> And her mother was going to get her today to have a visit. >> And does mom have any sort of drug or alcohol use? >> Well, I don't know. Why do you ask that? Because to be completely honest with you, mom is about to go to jail. She's going for threats. We have a caller who heard her say that she's going to beat. Said that mom grabbed her by the arm and pulled her arm out of socket. So mom's going to jail. That's why we need you to come get >> Okay. She really is hard to handle. She likes to run and hide from you. And I don't think she really understands how dangerous that can be, you know, but that's what she does. But we also can't have somebody who's threatening to hurt her child like that. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> The truth was almost laid bare. Yet the mother clung to excuses. The child had brain issues, epilepsy, and of course, nothing was ever her fault. >> What to do in the meantime, though, cuz it's going to be like 15 minutes. I'm not going to arrest her in front of her mom. >> We can talk to him. I've got some more questions for her. Do you mind if I ask you a couple more questions before we leave? Let's come over here in the shade. It's hot. >> Are you okay? I hope you're in the shade enough to wear it. >> Yeah, I'm just going to have a hard time getting all these thorns out of my butt. I'm just kidding. >> I thought it would cool her down to sit down, but then I sat down and >> Yeah, that's understandable. So, I don't know how much you talked for my partner, but um I just wanted to hear what's been going on. >> She takes um medication medicine time now. He should have been back a long time ago with it cuz her anti- anxiety. She's flipping out. She does it almost every day. I mean, we have spells like this four or five times a week and the police are usually coming. I've had defects. They dismissed my case because there's nothing there like that that they should they see. They come I let them investigate the home everything and it gave her brain damage in three parts of her brain and two years ago they took out her singular jarus which is the right side of the brain that performs the functions of making simple judgments. Okay. >> So you're talking about inhibitions and her and she's going through puberty too because she's >> she doesn't look like it but her hormones are crazy. And then her little head, she's got brain damage still and several other parts they didn't remove. That's her medication. And then she's also going through her dad and I splitting up too. So I can't take that away from her. She's just going through a lot. >> I got you. >> A lot of people don't get it. And we're in public. They often call the police. Like her grandpa that you just talked to, the husband of I don't know who you talked to, but he almost went to jail the other day for the same thing. And this is an old man who has never done anything wrong in his life. Both of them. You have to wrestle her or she will run out in front of a car. She'll she would butcher knife. I'm saying she'll do things to herself really bad to herself. I get really freaked And then when he he left and didn't come back for a long time, I began to just cry and panic and then everybody got more upset and >> okay >> and the girl growing up in a toxic environment, she was nearly cut off from friends. Then she suddenly revealed a horrifying secret. >> My name is Bradley. Okay. >> Yeah, >> that's my friend over there that you were talking to. What else going on? I know you've already talked. You want to talk about it? We don't have to. Okay. But if you want >> It just breaks my arm. >> It breaks your heart. What does >> my mother doesn't explain it to me when I hear that one of my friends may have ran off. We can't find him. I was already concerned enough about him from the start when I thought they would not want to be my friends anymore before one got lost. >> You want to sit with me? >> Yeah. Okay. >> What I'm saying is I have a lot of concerns in my mind. Will they still want to be my friend? Will they be able to find my friend? Will I be able they still spend the night? something bad happen today besides my friend getting lost and will I be able to still film with women? >> They would love to be friends with you still. I promise. >> Yeah, >> you're you're super cool. You're super nice. They would love to be your friends, too. >> They're not lost. >> Oh my goodness. My mother told me >> we're We don't have any people that are missing right now. Hold on just one second. Okay, I'm going to see if I can get you a napkin. Thank you so much. >> You're welcome. >> There you go. I keep crying cuz I can't get my mind off of my brain. >> I promise you we will go and try to figure out what's up with your friends and see if they're missing. Okay, cuz your mom's been here with us the whole time. So, your friends might have been found since we've all been out here, right? Well, I promise you we'll if there's a little kid gone missing, you know, we'll be the first to get told about it. >> From the mother's side, her statement kept repeating the same story. Sadly for her, with all the evidence, witnesses, and the victim's words, police decided to end her self-stage show. Did you say anything today that would like make her scared or anything like that? >> Yes, because when I came outside, oh my god, she was I said, "Okay, fine. You can have a little cooler. You can sit here on this on this front stair." I go out there and she's gone again. What am I going to do? I can't leave these children here. And I see her now. I can have a panic attack, which I'm diagnosed with. And I'm supposed to be on medication, but I don't take it. But it scares me when she does that. So, I start to try to threaten her. I'm like, "If you don't get down here, you're going to make it worse because it will get worse. Everybody's going to get more angry." I'm like, "Oh, I'm going to beat you." She knows that I like do not don't think I've ever whooped her ever. >> Did you like grab her in any way? >> Yeah, cuz Yeah. Yeah. I was trying to I was trying to get her arms off the um the rails of the stairs so she would go in. She's trying to run upstairs. I've had a wreck recently. I am not able to chase her at all. I can't. I used to be able She's fast as Yeah. >> Did it hurt or did she say anything? Like >> she didn't say it hurt or anything. I mean, she just bites really hard cuz she's freakishly strong. I've seen a scratch right there. I don't know how that happened, but it might it could have been, but it wasn't intentional. But as far as like physically hurting her, no. I do not children. Okay. Or well, I'm really just not a fighter with myself. >> To be completely honest with me, have you had anything to drink? Any sort of use in the past? >> Oh, in the past, but I've been off probation. I had I had tempered with like something like as a kid, like a younger adult, and I had to go to prison. Literally, since then, I've had a clean slate, and I'm this way. This has been like kid stuff like, you know, over 20 years ago, and I didn't like it to start with. Okay, if you don't mind me asking, what was it? >> I used to smoke pot really heavily and I've tried almost everything. I've tried almost everything, but one time and uh I realize I do like and I do still smoke that but I don't have any or nothing like that. I don't buy it cuz I don't have the money for it. But if somebody offers it to me, I'll hit it. Yeah, >> I got you. But today any drinking at all today? No. >> Any use today? You're going to have to go to jail. >> Why? >> You're going to have to go for toxic threats because everybody has said I was going to spank her. You said you're gonna >> Can I tell my boyfriend, please? >> You will be able to call him. You will be able to call him. >> I don't know his number. He's got my phone. >> Calm down. >> No, I need to tell him. >> Calm down. >> This is pretty stupid. >> I'm going to go ahead and put >> She's not going to see it. >> Get Grandpa. Get >> Come here. Get >> calm down. >> We're trying to make a scene or what? >> You're making it worse. >> I need to get him out here. >> You're making it worse. >> She has ruined that machine. >> Yeah, you've ruined it now. So that's >> Let me ask you some more questions. So you were saying that there was >> I love you. Tell them the truth now. You tell them the truth. >> So we found both of them. >> All right. Let's go to the car. >> Travis, >> come on. I got to tell him. Can you come to the car, please? Can you come to pull me? I got broken bones and godam. Come on. >> Don't pull me. I got broken. >> Sit in the car. >> I'm trying to. Travis, you said he can come to the car. >> Yes, he can come to the car. >> Travis, >> can you grow up? >> No. >> I need to tell him something. >> Well, we're getting in the car and going to jail. That's what we're sure. Well, we're not >> I don't want to leave my daughter out here. Man, >> you want to quit yelling like that so your daughter doesn't know. >> You're looking bad in front of your kid. Get in the car, please. Don't touch me. I'm getting >> Get in the car. >> Get in the car. Quit. >> At the same time, her past with her ex-husband was also revealed. >> I don't know. Your mom was upset with her, so they're going to figure out what to do. I think they just wanted to get in the car with the cold air. >> Are you going to arrest her? >> The investigator here, so I don't know exactly what they're going to do. I just wanted to get to know you a little bit. So, your friends are fine. They're fine. Can you tell me about your mom a little bit? Has she ever hit you? >> When my mom and my dad are together, they can get furious. Except right now, they're broke up. >> Do they ever hit each other? >> Yeah, they fight. My mom says that one time my dad punched her in the nose. It started bleeding. >> Did you see that or did you just hear it like hear about it? Actually, I had myself locked up in the room and and it was so loud I could hear the whole thing thing through the door. >> Did anyone hit you today? >> No, they just tugged me by the arm. I was trying to grab onto the rails as they were dragging me and they took my hand and went like this to get it loose from the rail. >> And who did that? >> My mom. >> What was she doing that for? What did she say? >> She was trying to force me back in the room when I was trying to get a little bit of quiet time from those children. They already almost hurt me two times, but they did hurt me one time, but they almost did it a second. >> And that was before when you were trying to go outside to go to the stairs. >> Yeah. >> And then the mother's boyfriend walked in. >> Do you want to talk to her? She's going foristic threats. >> Yeah. For threatening to hurt her daughter. >> Threatening to hurt. >> You can talk to her. I'll roll down the window. >> You're running away, right? >> Yeah, she does. >> That's new. Did she say she needs the ambulance? >> She happens all the time which is very bad. She has seizures and stuff like that. It's like seriously like it does happen. >> I understand. >> She's very uh out of control and like she has But hey, look at this. What is this baby? >> I don't know about it, baby. What? She not going to let you give you the water. >> Did she say she needs Do you need the ambulance? >> She wants some water. She feels dehydrated. >> Some water. >> She says she feels dehydrated. I guess she needs some water. She don't feel good. You can't. >> It's all the way up. But I can open the partition so you can get more air. >> Are you ever scared of your mom? Yeah. >> Why? >> Because she she I mean I can't really say it. I'm going to have to say letter word because they're they're bad words. >> How old are you? I'm going to leave that up to you if you'd like to say a bad word. You're not going to be in trouble with us. I promise you. >> You do what you need to do to describe it. Okay. >> Because uh she'll go come out here and be all like, "I'm going to your butt up." >> Or she'll be all like, "I am going to kick your >> And has she ever done those things?" No, she like she just likes to yell at me to scare me and I think that's kind of getting her in trouble. It's making me think that it's going to happen and then it makes me tell people that it did happen. >> Do you believe that it was going to happen today if you came out of the bush? >> Yes, I did because she was yelling it from the top of her lungs. >> Well, that was a lot, wasn't it? >> Yes, a lot from me cuz I'm one of the ones where one yell in the face and I start getting scared. If I open this door, are you going to do anything? >> Nothing. I'm really happy with water. I promise not. I'm not I'm not combative. I'm really not. I'll hold it. Can you take one hand out, please? I want to chug this whole bottle. >> I can't take I can't takeight. >> They're not actually. They're actually extra. >> This bracelet can come off if that's what's hurting me. I can't let you sit here and hold the water bottle trying to inhumane. Somebody's going to hear about that picture for the water. >> Yet, he didn't want to intervene forcefully as if their relationship was quite complicated. >> Get out. Have a good look here. Who's on the way? The grandparents. What happened? Uh, Gary. >> So, they're going to be here in a minute and maybe they can go to jail. Are you talking all that crap and being mean and all that other stuff, saying all this stuff? >> You don't deserve it. >> Yeah, but I want to flush to go show them what your grandbabies and your daughter. I'm going to get the medicine with your daughter needs right now. They got the truck. >> I know. I got one truck back here. >> Will her grandparents be able to come to and get her stuff from your apartment? Is that okay? If they come, >> there's nothing in there. >> Can she get her medicine? >> I'm going to get it. Okay, perfect. Thank you so much. I just went and picked it up from the grandparents right before in floats to go swim. This happened about a month ago with her with the grandparents about to be here. Gary, the same thing happened. She did the same thing. She freaked out, spazzed out, ran off and he had to grab her. He was going to go to Cop County Jail. But he didn't go to Cop County Jail because the simple fact that you know the police came out like take her to go get her evaluated at the hospital. If you could get her evaluated before this time at at Kennstone, we will not arrest her. But if not, go to jail. She gets you out. >> I'll get you out. Don't worry about it. Why you talking about money now? We don't have to worry about that. You ever been bonded out before? I don't know you ain't cuz nobody's bonded you out ever. But I'm going to bond you out. >> It's hard to see it like from a different perspective unless you know like like the grandparents say the same thing. I hope they tell the truth cuz it did happen. >> Okay. Well, thank you. I appreciate it. >> This time the girl felt some relief after telling everything. Though what she went through was hard to accept. Thanks to the police's reassurance, her hope of seeing her old friends again was not yet lost. >> You were saying today that your mom grabbed your arm and was like pulling you, right? >> And it popped. >> And it popped. Okay. What do you mean it popped? >> She kind of popped a bone or something. Yeah. You know when you tug your arm uh so hard that it go >> your shoulder. >> Yeah. When you tug your arm so hard that it goes >> Does it hurt now? >> Well, really this is the one that popped. And right here feels weaker than the the same spot on this arm, but it doesn't hurt. It just lost a little bit of blood energy. >> Does that happen a lot where she'll grab you and pull you around or things like that? >> No, because I don't see her much. >> Does it happen when you see her? >> Yes. >> Every time. >> Not every time. Sometimes. >> How often do you see her? Once in a month or something. >> This type of thing happens once every two months or once every month. What do you think? >> Once every three or four months. I'm just now getting used to going somewhere being quiet. I think she still thinks that I'm going to run off somewhere. >> Did you used to do that? >> Yes. >> Why? >> Because um I like to get away from a family member every once in a while that's bothering me. >> Just like to be alone sometimes. >> Yeah, >> I get that. I love being alone. That's like my favorite place. >> Yeah. But until I learned about that, but now that I'm doing it, she still thinks that I'm going to run off. So she so she tries to stop me every time I need a little private place and then just turns everything just like this. Like I was just trying to get a little relaxing time on the stairs by myself. No bother. Apparently she thought I was going to run off. Then everything turned into this because of that. >> Well, I'm sorry that this happened today. Is there anything I can do to make you feel better today? You've already done it. The only thing I wanted to know if that my friends were safe. >> Your friends are safe? Both of them are upstairs. >> Grandma's going to be here in a few minutes. You okay? Is that okay if you go back with grandma? >> But you do know that my mom lied to me about that. She said that I was going to get to stay. >> To be fair, that was we decided to call your grandma. >> Yeah. >> And we wanted to figure out who was best to be with you tonight. She's not mad at you. She's really mad at us and she's just not I I wouldn't want you to stay with her tonight. She's fighting with everybody. fight with us, fighting with her boyfriend. We just think it'd be better and more peaceful for you to just get away for the night and be able to take a breath and have that relaxation time. >> I wonder if they'll pay for me and come back. I was kind of looking forward to our plans today. >> I don't know, but you can talk to grandma about it. She might be able to help you figure it out. >> Your mom and grandma will be able to figure it out. This isn't a permanent thing. This is just for tonight. >> I don't live with any children, so it gets kind of fun when I get to hang out with kids cuz my life is like a solid of rock. No one. But apparently everyone plays. I can say that people play with every once in a while, but most of the time it's sitting around and watching television. That's boring. >> You can be outside. >> Yeah. Yeah. I like to run around and play, but I have no kids at that house. It can get very boring. Every once in a while, I just want to stay with kids my close to my age. That's why I'm so excited. >> Well, I'm sure you'll be able to come back at some point, okay? >> Yeah. Plus, it's been a long time since I played with the pool, too. >> Were you at the pool? >> Oh, we were going to be in the pool. That's why I'm wearing this. >> I like your swimsuit. >> Plus, can get a little bit boring and lonely. No wonder I can be so dumb sometimes because my life is so miserable. >> We're trying to help you out and make you feel I think you're going to be a little bit safer with grandma. >> Can I know what makes you think that? >> Yeah. >> What makes you think? You know how you said that mom said she was going to beat you up and you said you were kind of scared? Yeah. I don't want you to be scared. That's why. >> Pretty much I'm not scared anymore. Earlier we were hugging and we were both crying and making each other feel safe. >> That's good. Well, I bet grandma's going to help make you feel really safe, too. I just think it's the best thing for right now. Mom's kind of yelling at everybody. She's kind of mad at us right now. She's not mad at you, but she's mad at us. >> Can I go inside and change? These aren't my clothes. Of course, when grandma gets here, she'll she'll take you inside and you can change. Okay. >> The girl still felt guilty about her mother going to jail and worried about her friends. But the good news, she was about to find peace with her grandparents. >> Who are you? Said >> this is not how I plan my day to go out and I did not plan my mother to go to jail. >> Sometimes things happen. Those things happen for a reason, right? You didn't decide for any of that to happen. You didn't make your plans not happen and you didn't make your mom get in trouble. >> You're right. I was trying to get a little quiet time. >> And you did everything just fine. >> But I don't know who's going to look after my friends. They're little. >> Her boyfriend's like grandchildren, right? >> Yeah. >> Does she treat you like she treats them or does she treat you a little worse? >> Treats me a lot worse. >> It's so hot. I got your floaty and your uh medicine. He said that you can keep the swimsuit. So, y'all are good with taking >> She lives with Okay, perfect. Do y'all have any questions, comments, concerns for me? >> No, we go through this a lot. It was really nice to meet you today. You okay? >> They're not mad at you at all. >> Right now, it's okay. >> Her arm is okay. So, I >> promise they're not mad at you. It's okay. Where's your >> No, they're not mad at you at all. >> Where's your shoes, babe? You can't. >> Those kids decided they wanted to dress me up to the >> He said that she's good to keep everything that she's got on. >> She needs to get her stuff out of the apartment. Which apartment is it? >> I have no idea. I don't know the number of it. You want to know the apartment that you're at? >> Yeah, I know the apartment I'm at, but I don't know what number it is. She can get her stuff later. I'll get it for her when I wand out. It's just a pair of jeans. >> He is. They've both asked that no one, including us, can go up there. I'm going to try to talk to him and try to get him to bring the stuff down. >> I did not come up there. >> Yeah, I can do that. >> It's the property. We don't have a crime inside of it. >> The apartment is what? >> That's about dog wrestling. If you don't mind, I will cut that. >> You just stay over here. Okay. We're not going to run off. Okay. Well, these people are driving me nuts. >> No, they're not trying to. Okay. You're going to go with grandma and grandpa. Okay. >> Do I fast to do this? >> Yes. >> So far, you're not in trouble. >> Okay. We're going to give her some space and let her down. >> In contrast, after so many mistakes, the mother still found excuses to cause chaos. Even while sitting in the police car, >> I'll just tell him to call my mama, please. >> Can we get her clothes? >> I just don't have anybody else. Nobody's going to put me. >> Can we get her clothes? No, because it's not my place. You just said that they don't have she don't have nothing up there. I'll have to get it when I get. It's not my house. I'm not I don't know what number it is at. >> I don't get in here all tight as and I can't move. Can't drink no water and it's not my place. I'm not sending the police there. >> The police aren't even trying to go up there. Your parents are. >> One thing is undeniable. The mother still fails to recognize the wounds she has caused, turning the world around her child into a stifling place, forcing her to retreat into the bushes just to escape and breathe. >> She's not answering and she don't want anyone going up there. >> We have trouble with her running running away, running off just like just like N. I asked her what happened to her arm and she, you know, wants to run off. >> Yeah, she's been asked a lot by us. She told us we asked her every single thing you could imagine. She said it was the dog. Do you usually just wait for a little while and just let her be quiet? Yeah, do some deep breathing. >> I can't breathe with my legs in the way of my stomach. >> Stand up, baby. Get out from under the bush. >> Well, I can't erase the words from pop. That just won't hurt my arm. >> Yeah, that's what made me want to go. >> Okay, we're sorry about that. >> We don't have to talk about it anymore. Okay. >> No, we're not. >> Uh, she said that it was from the dog in there scratched her. We had her checked out by fire. They came and checked her out and made sure that she was okay. >> Okay, let's get out from under there and we will get in the car. >> No, because I don't trust that these people like after what Papa said, I don't trust anything. >> He just wanted to know what happened. >> He just wanted to make sure you're okay. That's all. >> That's not what I'm talking about. What? You're Bobby. >> Come on, Bobby. Come on. >> Yes, you are, baby. >> Come on. Come out. We'll We'll go get you some more shoes. Come on. We'll go right now and go shopping for some shoes. Let's go. Before it gets too late and they'll be closed, you ain't going to have no shoes. Come on. >> What's going on? >> Look at him. My real I might never come back here. >> Oh, he didn't mean all that. >> He didn't mean it. >> Everyone's just kind of emotional right now. We can tell them that you're allowed to come back. I promise. >> So, they may take me back here every once in a while to visit the kids. >> Absolutely. We'll make sure that he is. He like I said, everyone's just emotional. It's hot. Everyone's had a long day. Nobody's in trouble. You're just fine. I'm sorry that we were asking you more questions about everything and that he he made you >> They were asking me the same questions that you guys did. Number one, and I already answered them a million times. So, so I got bored. Number two, I was followed when I was once again just trying to clear my mind. Number three, after I was already worried about my friends not wanting to be my friends and they're worried about me, he started saying that I won't ever come back. Well, that's not true. They're just trying to figure everything out. But you'll be able to come back, okay? >> They didn't know what was going on here. They weren't here. They didn't know that we had already talked to you and everything. So, I I'll make you a promise, okay? I'll tell him that you you can come back here. I'll tell both of them not to talk to you about it tonight, okay? Because it's been a long day. You don't have to worry about it anymore today, okay? >> Uh-huh. But the most important thing is that they take me back here every once in a while. >> I will tell them to, okay? Cuz we want you to be able to play, too. You think they may choose you a sleepover? That's what I was going to do today. That's what got me so excited. >> There will be more sleepovers. >> I only had one sleepover in my entire life since I was a toddler. And now all of my friends are gone. Too late for any sleepover. >> Yes, you will be able to sleep over. I promise. Sleepovers are fun. >> Uh-huh. But that's why that was so important to me. >> I understand that. >> And my grandpa said no. >> I understand that. Like I said, I don't think he understood really what was going on. >> I just want a piece of paper and to know what floor they're on and what number their door is. >> Okay, >> that's all I want. I get the signal to how to get there. >> I will get your uh grandparents to get that for you. Okay, I promise. >> And they'll be able to do phone calls, too. >> You'll be able to come back, I promise. And do sleepovers and go to the pool and hang out with your friends. >> Do you think you can get out of the bushes for us just so you can get in some pool? Yeah, because that's the way I was. I I went in the bushes cuz I was heartbroken. >> It's okay. It's okay to feel like that. But you're going to be able to see them again. Okay. You think you can come out this way under here and we'll get you in the air conditioning where it feels a little bit better. Thank you for talking to us today. It was really nice to meet you. You got it. >> And finally, we should not forget to thank the police officers who timely came to help and gently comforted the girl that day. >> Thank you all so much. Of course. Hey, her her main concern was just that whether you guys want her to come back here or not, that's up to you guys. She felt upset saying that. >> I don't think I don't think 10 people will let her come back and do >> maybe. Maybe not. >> She's a handful. >> I hope you have a good night. Okay. Go watch a good movie or something. >> We're going to make it good. >> Best luck to you guys. >> We need it. >> The mother was arrested and held on charges of child. Under Georgia law, this offense can carry up to 10 years in prison with bail ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 or higher, depending on the severity of the case. Although justice has been served, the girl's psychological wounds remain. Parents should remember love, patience, and respectful behavior are the best tools to guide their children, not physical or emotional. The heartbreaking stories in Minnesota and Georgia leave us with much to reflect on. On one side, there was an aggressive father. On the other, a negful mother, but both left indelible scars on their children's hearts. Justice may have been served, yet the psychological wounds remain. Love is never violence, and patience is not neg. If you found this video meaningful, please like, share, and subscribe to help spread this message. See you in the next stories. Heat. Heat. [Music]
