Your daughter is with the paramedics right now. She's with the paramedics. The paramedics care about her. Okay. >> And I'm not going to put hoses on your tongue till you start saying bad words. And I grab a little bit and I put it on her tongue. My mom >> adults are not always a safe refuge. Sometimes [music] they are the very reason situations spiral out of control. >> You are doing I got you at least 3 minutes >> up on the sidewalk driving recklessly at 30 mph. >> I don't want to [ __ ] go to jail, man. >> Let's work this out. You're going to make this way worse. You knock your beard, get taken away. >> Today, we look back at a moment when an adult's impulsive choice led authorities, medical professionals, and the legal system to become involved. >> First of all, if he hits me with two replaced hips and I can't walk anymore, cuz believe me, if I go down, I'm not walking anymore. This woman followed closely behind a young boy, then quickly placed responsibility for the situation onto him. On June 9th, 2025, officials in Flaggler County received a report involving an elderly woman who drove her vehicle onto a pedestrian walkway while following a 14-year-old boy riding an electric bike. The incident was reviewed and determined not to be a simple misunderstanding. >> You put my child in debt. >> I understand that. >> So, whatever it is, I don't care if we're stretching it to the backs. I'm pressing charges. >> Let me um >> you got childment. Attend the kid cuz I don't know her intent. Well, I mean that's you can't have the kidnap, but >> dude, I got video of someone chasing on the sidewalk at 20. I >> I understand. I understand. It's definitely uh Let me call my supervisor and see what he has to say about it. Um did you is that on the prepared live the the Okay, perfect. All right, just give me one second. >> And I I mean I need I need a report because if if this doesn't go anywhere, I'm I'm legaling up and I'm going balls to the wall. >> Okay. >> Against [clears throat] everybody. >> So I want charges pressed. I want a police report done. >> Okay. >> With her info, her license, everything. >> All right. Just give me one second, sir. >> From the woman's perspective, the story sounded different. She claimed the boy often rode at high speed, had previously made contact with her, [music] and that following him was a sudden decision motivated by concern for his well-being. >> Okay, >> here's what happened. They don't they didn't they don't know what's going on with their phones. They act like they know what happened. >> Okay, >> I live right there. I'm 65 years old. I have both of my hips replaced. >> Okay, >> I also have a dog. I was throwing the ball up, the squeaky toy for him. He wasn't in the street. This boy comes down on the sidewalk 35 mph. I'm not kidding you. >> Two nights ago or in the evening, I'm on the street that goes along there. He comes right at me and I was like, "You have to slow down when people are here." >> He thought that was funny. So they go more. And so then tonight, so I get my car to try to catch him cuz I thought he lived in the neighborhood. I wanted to either see where he lived to talk to his mother nicely or I wanted to talk to him nicely >> cuz I thought he was my neighbor. No, he's doing guess what? He doesn't even live in here. So then I go after him to try to find him cuz I know you're never going to find him. >> And they're all like, "You're acting recklessly." I was like, "You don't even know what happened." First of all, if he hits me with two replaced hips and I can't walk anymore cuz believe me, if I go down, I'm not walking anymore. That's going to be bad enough. If he gets my dog, you I don't know if you have a dog, but that's my child. And I would have called you actually. And then I went and got in the W's. I couldn't get out of the W's. Guess what? Cuz my GPS went Come on. My phone's Do you want to come in the house? No. My phone is in the house. I couldn't even use my GPS to get out. Um, but let's put it this way. He could have disabled me for the rest of my life. He's probably what, 17? He would have gone on the rest of his life, living a great life, and I'd have been in a wheelchair, or he would have hit my dog, and then I would have found him, and it would have gotten ugly. >> Okay. What's your name? >> Julia. >> Julia. So, I got video of you driving up on the sidewalk recklessly. You would have hit that kid on the bike and killed him. You're going to jail for manslaughter. You understand? >> Him and him. You're You're driving recklessly on a sidewalk where people walk their dogs and ride their bikes. A video of you doing almost 30 miles an hour up that sidewalk. >> I was trying to catch him. Ma'am, >> I'm listening. I'm listening. >> Cuz you're this close to going to jail. >> I'm listening. >> You understand? I understand you're concerned about kids driving. You call us. We do our best to find him, right? You think 65 years old, right? You think it's a smart idea to be driving up on a sidewalk doing 30 m hour chasing a kid on a bike? Answer the question. >> I don't consider that a sidewalk. >> What do you consider it? There's cars on there all the time. >> They're parked up on the grass so they can walk on the sidewalk. You are doing I got you for at least three minutes >> up on the sidewalk driving recklessly over 30 miles an hour from what my reporting party told me. >> And you can see he was going faster than me. >> You still think you're correct? >> That's how you do it again. You are going to jail for taking >> I will never do it again. >> Do you understand what your actions? >> I do understand. I was very emotional. >> Maybe you think you collect yourself as a 65-year-old woman about what you were doing. Do you anybody else on that sidewalk besides this kid? If you didn't say there was no I I I'm not disagreeing with you, but I >> You're wrong for trying to make this sound correct on your end. Okay. >> You're 100% wrong. >> All right. I won't. I'll stop. >> All right. You see somebody, you call us. You don't take it into your own hands. >> All right. You're right. >> God forbid you somebody. I promise you I'll do everything in my power to make sure you go to jail. >> You're right. >> Take your car and what else I could do for you. >> All right. >> Find out you're doing it again. Chasing this kid even on the road. >> Oh god. No. This was >> But it was a great idea to follow him on the sidewalk. Like I said, I was It was like >> I hear what you said. >> I know >> you're not I want you to listen. This kid does it again. You chase him in your car again. We'll get you for aggravated. Of >> course, I'm not going to. >> But you did it. And you were willing to chase this kid as far as it could go until this other car, this person that called us, stopped you. They blocked you at the sidewalk. Correct. >> Yeah. >> Where does this make sense to you? >> Okay. It doesn't. >> Do you live alone? >> Yes. >> We're taking your car. You're not getting it back. You're losing your license. You're not driving if you get another car. No. I find out you do this again. You're this close to doing that. >> Of course not. Of course not. >> You're saying of course not, but look at your actions. It just happened. 100% 110%. You were going to jail if you got this kid. >> I'm not disagreeing with you. >> I'm trying to understand where you thought this was the right thing to do. Tell me your emotions took over. So, should I put you in for a reevaluation of a driver's license now? >> I'm not trying to disagree with you. >> You're trying to make what you did sound correct. >> No, I'm not trying to sound correct. I'm telling you why I did it. I'm not saying it's right. I'm just trying to No, I'm not trying to excuse it. I'm trying to explain even though it was wrong why I did it. I didn't just like come out and say, "Oh, here let me go, you know, chase." >> Well, maybe not. >> No, not maybe not. You were not thinking. >> Okay, >> I'm laying into you right now cuz you could have multiple people on the sidewalk. It's dark. You're focused on this one kid riding the bike. You don't see me. You don't see anyone else on the sidewalk. Somebody would have called me and said, "You hit him with the car. I'm taking you to jail." If this kid calls us back after he goes home and talks to his parents, I know where you're at. We'll probably take you to jail. It's aggravated with a car is considered a >> touch him. >> Doesn't matter. Aggravated assault is not a physical contact. It's the contact. Okay. >> Should I take you to jail now? >> No. I'm >> Why not? >> I'm agreeing with you because it's not going to happen again. It was a stupid thing. I agree. >> This preached all over I don't know if you're on social media, but our sheriff puts out do not engage in road resentments for this reason. He doesn't know what you're about to do. So yeah, he's not going to stop. He's going to run away from you. So he again if he calls us and his parents get in touch with us >> I hear you. I don't think >> he went away from me in here because he was afraid of me. >> I 100% believe he was afraid of me. >> A 3 4,000lb vehicle is now chasing him. What do you think was going through his head? >> Well, the first time I came this way, he was coming up, you know, cuz I came around this way and I was like, you know, stop. I want to talk to you. He was like, >> yeah, no, he's not going to stop. >> Cuz he didn't want to be in trouble. Now, after that, who knows? I don't believe he's scared of me. I do not believe that. I think he's being a Listen, I'm from Baltimore City. I don't But I don't think that kid was afraid of me. >> Well, we don't know until he goes home. >> You're right. And >> I recommend you go back inside, >> okay? >> Unless you have any other questions for me. All right. Think about what you're doing next time. >> Okay. >> I'm not even going to say it again. I told you enough. Okay. Think about everything you just did, too. >> Okay. >> All right. Days later, officers spoke with the family again, this time with a boy present. The question arose, was the image of a fearless child really as it had been described? >> Yeah. >> How you doing, Mr. Ellis? Sergeant Miler at the Sheriff's Office. How are you today? >> I guess we had an incident a couple days ago with your son who was a victim of something that happened. Do you have any other video evidence other than what you provided with Deputy Butler yesterday? Just what she took. >> When she cut me off, yeah, I swerved onto the street and I waved someone out. I'm like, "Hey, she just tried to hit me. Help me. The other car was blocked off. >> Yeah. Um there was another guy, but she just almost hit. >> All right. So, let me ask you, when she almost hit you, was she turning onto a street or >> just when she entered the bike path, right? >> No, she was already on the bike path. She was already on it and she went up. >> Yeah. She went onto a like on the grass section where there's enough room for a car to come by. She overtook me, cut me off, and that's when I got really really scared because I literally could have died. She was really close to me. rode his bike since. >> Yeah. >> And he It's really toying. >> And he loves his bike. >> Yeah. >> We need to make awareness of this. You know, you've seen it. Kids are getting hit. They're dying. >> Especially on these ebike trails. >> Something needs policy needs to be put in place >> some kind >> legislation. We need to change the law in the city cuz these kids and my mine's no Saints, but these kids are getting a little too much. And then the drivers are getting are taking law into their own hands cuz you see stuff that that's not reported. >> Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. >> And that's what I fear for him is this could have been so much worse. >> They could have he swerved and went into traffic over her >> or him fall and then she couldn't see cuz it was not now you got now you got hit and run. You got all kinds of stupid stuff >> over nonsense is what I call it. Nonsense makes me mad. >> But I appreciate you. No worries. >> As the possible [music] legal outcomes became clearer, the woman grew worried but continued to say her intention was only to approach and speak with the child. Oh, >> you might if you just step out. Uh, >> are you arresting me? >> Well, I'm not saying that. We just have to talk. Okay. And I have to redo your rights before I question you. Okay. Cuz I'm going to ask you incriminating with these rights. Are you willing to talk to me? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, [snorts] when you were following him, did you ever get close to him? >> I don't think so. No. I couldn't catch up with him. >> So, you were trying to catch up to him >> enough that I could talk to him? Yeah. Okay. So, if he's speeding away and you're continuing to follow him, why would you just Why would you keep on follow? I I just >> That was stupid. Stupid. >> So, when you were on the sidewalk, did you ever like jump in front of him? Nothing. Nothing like that. And you didn't try to get in front of him before you started following him? >> Before I started following >> or before you went on the sidewalk cuz that's the story I got that right before you hopped on the sidewalk or maybe as soon as it happened, you kind of like tried to cut him off. >> I tried to come around. I didn't try to cut him off. >> So, you tried to go around him, you're saying? And what was your goal to going around him? >> Okay. How fast were you going? Not as fast as he was. I don't know. >> Okay. So, you were trying to catch up to him even though he's going pretty fast on a sidewalk with a bike. Okay. You understand where we're coming from here? >> I do. I do. >> Cuz it's it's ridiculous. I'm going to be honest with you. >> I I I feel that way, too. My And I can't disagree with you. It is ridiculous. >> Mhm. So, your main goal was to just try to talk to him. That's it. Cuz it seems I'm just going to tell you what it seems like for me. It seemed like this was an anger kind of like driven thing. Is that true or not? >> I was angry, but I just wanted to talk to him and tell him, you know, I would have spoken even. Um I got out of the car and I was like I just I even said to him, will you talk to me? And he said no and he just, you know, kept going. I mean, >> so why would you keep on following after that? If he doesn't want to talk to you, >> that was stupid. >> Okay. You get >> Oh, I wanted to see where he lived to tell his mother. >> Okay. So you But he started falling on the sidewalk. That's that's the main problem here. >> Gotcha. I guess. And what what happened once the other cuz I the other couple or whatever they blocked you off from Were you trying to keep on following them after they blocked you off? >> I was trying to get away from them. I don't know what they're going to do. >> Okay. All right. Well, I think they were just trying to help the uh the guy on the bike out cuz it from their angle it doesn't look good. You know what I mean? >> I understand. >> Yeah. And I mean, you probably didn't know at the time, but he was a he's a juvenile. He's 14 years old. >> Oh, you found him? >> Yeah. That's the reason why we're here is cuz they're I'm going to be honest. They want they want to press charges. So, we have to get your side of the story and all the totality of the circumstances. I also went to the witness's house. He recorded you following on the bike down the bike path >> and it shows you kind of not speeding up but containing like keeping a main uh like a 20ft distance I would say. Uh he said it was around a 6 or 10 ft. What would you estimate the distance to be? >> Um >> that you were following. >> Maybe two car lengths. >> Okay. >> I don't know what yard I'm going to go with yours. >> Oh yeah, you're good. You don't have to do that. Um so I'm going to be honest with you based on what we have now. I'm gonna be making an arrest on aggravated and the reckless driving, too. Um, based on everything that I have. Okay. So, I'm gonna need you to turn around for me. >> I gota >> We'll do that. We'll do We'll do all that after >> we'll do all that after. >> We can we can go in the door for you. Yep. That's fine. I'll give you that respect. >> And then I'll turn the AC once again. >> I'll take care of >> Thank you, Gil. The woman was charged with aggravated, reckless driving, and traffic violations. Under Florida law, she could face combined penalties of up to 5 years and 3 months in prison along with $5,500 in fines. Even when concern starts with good intentions, driving into a pedestrian area to follow a child crosses a clear boundary. Sometimes one moment of poor judgment is enough to change everything. When a form of discipline involving spicy substances goes too far, adults can face consequences that impact an entire community. >> Child needs to be taken into protective custody. Declined and refused based on DCFS investigation. >> On October 23rd, 2024, police in Mundeline, [music] Illinois opened an investigation involving a 30-year-old man and his 9-year-old daughter. The child showed concerning physical and emotional signs. The situation came to light after information was shared by the girl's sibling and a school counselor. At the scene, the father declined to cooperate and remained [music] inside his vehicle. >> Christian, come on. We're just going to talk to you, man. >> We just got to talk to you. Huh? Don't make this worse than it needs to be, dude. Well, it doesn't matter now. You made this worse. >> But whatever happened with her? >> We came to the one pushing into protective custody. He's the one pushing and reviews investigation. >> Okay. So, we got to talk to you about the kid, man. >> Child abuse investigation. He started pushing and get excused. >> Hey, Christian, just give me your >> continue to try to leave with the child. >> We're not trying to leave. >> Christian. >> Hey, Christian. We got to talk to you guys. Okay. You're I know I want to talk to you, not her. You don't have to talk to this officer. I will talk to you. We've talked before. Let's work this out. You're going to make this way worse. You're not You're going to get your kid taken away. >> Child needs to be taken into protective custody. Declined and refused based on DCFS investigation. And then when I told them that he was in detained based on the child ab investigation, he started pushing and shoving me to get past, accusing me of putting my hands on him when I only stepped in his path >> and then continued to try to leave with the child. Can you just talk to this officer? You can talk to her and we'll figure this out. Huh? It doesn't We have to talk now. >> Christian, we have to talk. We can't just leave now. >> Do you have officers with you? >> 104 unit. >> Block the exit. Come on out. parked by the wind. >> I was saying just block the exit for them. >> Come on out. >> Just come out, Christian. >> Just follow me. But please go as quick as you right here. >> Okay, then come out. >> Just come on out. Just come out, man. >> Step away from >> Yeah, man. I'm not, you know, I'm cool with you. I'm not going to rip you out of the car unless you want unless you're going to make me. Okay, come on. >> I don't want to break your window. Just come on. Let me pay you down for All right. We got to figure this out obviously. Did you push the officer? >> No, I didn't. She went like this. I was like, don't I was like I'm walking. I was like I was like She didn't even tell me I was in detain until I came all the way over here. But I did not push. I didn't go like this or anything. I was just I was like I'm walking to my car. That's it. I was like I I do I don't want you to push hands on me. >> I understand that. I understand your stance. But when an officer gives you an order whether you believe it lawful or not, you got to listen to it. You know what I mean? The next step is I'm going to break your window. And I don't want to do that. That's going to scare your daughter. You don't want to do that. All right. So, you're going to have to come back to the station and talk to us about what's going on. >> All right. Go ahead and put your hands behind your back. >> Can we wait until the case worker comes? >> We'll talk at the station. We're We're not at that point. You created the situation. You know that, man. I'm always cool with you. >> But the more you make things like worse like this, it's going to it's going to bite you in the butt. They're going to say they're going to watch the video, the case worker, and be like, "She's he's out of control." >> I'm not control. >> I I know. I know. But that's what they're going to say. You know what I mean? >> Walking away, bro. You're clearly on a you're on a case right now. You got the monitor. They're >> just listen to me. You got to you got to control your emotions. All right. I understand your daughter's here and it's a passionate topic, but you got to control yourself. All right. >> So, we're going to talk at the station. All right. Sanchez, you want to bring him back? Where'd he go? Can you get my food? >> Yeah. What else do you need? >> Oh, that's nice. Yeah. Back. Hold on. You know, I didn't put in my hands anymore. >> I'm not going to argue with you. >> I didn't put my hands on you. >> I'm not going to argue with you. >> At the police station, he stated that his actions were minor and did not cause discomfort. However, this account differed from earlier reports [music] and from what officials observed regarding the child's condition >> over there for me. >> We'll talk. Um, just because you were arrested though, I got to read you your rights. I was arrested for what? >> Uh, I don't know. Uh, it's just when when you get put in handcuffs, you get brought to the police department. You're considered arrested. >> Well, it's supposed to my Miranda rights. >> That's what I'm doing right now. >> You're supposed to do it back then. No, not until uh like if we want to talk. That's when I that's when we read them. So, we can arrest you, but we're not going to ask you any questions regarding the case until we read your Miranda rights. That's what we're doing now. So, no one ask any questions prior to that. No one, you know, ask you any intricate details about >> Yeah, they already asked me questions. >> Were you in custody? >> Yes. >> You had handcuffs on? >> Okay. Well, depending what they ask you, that stuff can be suppressed. You know, that's what your attorney will take care of and everything like that. So, but prior to that, if I want to talk to you, just kind of get your side of the story cuz I have no idea what the hell is going on. I was just here and I heard you were being brought back to the PD. So, I was like, I'll I'll talk to them because I know them. All right. So, I'll read your rights. Let me know if you understand them. If you don't understand them, I'll read them back to you. I'll give you a chance to read them if you want. Um, and then if you want to sign it, you can sign it. If you don't want to sign, you don't want to sign. It's up to you. All right. >> So, you have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be against the court of law. You have the right to consult with lawyer before you answer any questions or make any statement to have a lawyer present during questioning. You can't afford a lawyer won't be appointed for you before questioning any time during questioning desire. Do you want to sign this at all? No. That's fine. >> Why am I being arrested? Uh, one sec. So, from what I heard it, uh, you pushed >> I did not push. No one. >> You pushed sex in. >> No, I didn't. I was like this. You can see it on the dash cam. Okay. >> I was like this the whole time. My hands were up. I never >> prior to uh >> I did not. I swear to God. I did not pushed her. I was just walking away. And I told her I was like, "Please, I I'm walking away. Do not put your hands on me." She wasn't going like this to me. >> Okay. >> I did not went like this. >> Did you push her back after she pushed you all in like that? >> Nope. My hands were never like this. I was either like this or like this. Don't touch my kid. Don't touch my wife. I never went like this. I was just like this or like this. I never pushed. >> You can check on the dash camera before you give me those charges, bro. >> Okay. >> Please. >> Okay. >> I just let you know. Okay. >> I did. You could see on the dash cam. I even told her, "My hands are up. I'm not pushing you. My hands are up." I wasn't pushing her. >> Did you like uh Did you like not let her move or like kind of like restrict her movements at all? >> She was not. >> She restricted your movements. Yeah. And I was like And she didn't even tell me I was detained. She didn't tell me. >> Okay. >> I I walked all around the school and she didn't tell me I was detained. >> Okay. Where were you guys? in front of the school. >> In the front of the school went around and then we're around >> like where the buses pick you up. >> And then she's like, "Oh, you're detained." And I asked her for what? And she didn't want to tell me for anything. I was like, "You're not going to tell me for why? I'm detained. I'm you're not going to go to my car. Like the DC wants to come and take my kid to come to my car." I'm like, "I'll wait in the car." I wasn't going to go nowhere. I can't even drive. >> Yeah. >> I was just going to go wait inside my car. And I was like, I'm going to put hostels on your tongue so you stop saying bad words. And I grab a little bit hostel and I put it on her tongue. And she was crying. I was like, "You going to stop saying bad words?" And she's like, "Yeah." Okay. And then she said something again. And then I was like, "I already talked to you. I already took your phone away. I didn't get you no tablet. I was like, "You still do not listen." I was like, "What do you want me to do?" I was like, "You want me to tell you how how my mom like raised me when I was little?" I was like, "My mom used to beat me up with the with the cable, with the hangers." I was like, "I don't want to do that to you." >> I don't want to do that to you. I was I don't want to hit you. >> Mhm. >> And then she's like, "Oh, I don't care." And then I in the butt. >> Okay. >> That's it. >> How many times do you >> Once? >> Just one time in the butt. >> Yeah. But not >> Okay. What did the ECFs take? I cuz like I said, I don't I don't know. >> I don't know what they say about that, but I swear to God, you got to check your camera. But I did not push your officer. >> Okay. Well, I'll talk to Jessica about that. We'll we'll check the camera and everything and then we'll go from there. >> I did say you're not taking my kid away. How you going to react in a situation like I would say, "Oh, we got to take the kid away." >> Right. No, I'd be pissed off, too. So, I I understand, >> you know, like I did not push the officer, bro. If I would have pushed it, you know, I would have put it down to the ground. >> Right. Right. No, I agree. I agree. So, DCFS. So, who told you that the kids were being taken? The lady said, "Oh, your kids were taken into custody." >> The DC DCFS said that. >> No, the the officer. Okay. And then officer and then when I told her, I was like, "But the school supposed to call us." I was like, "I didn't even call us or told us anything." And then I was like, "Okay, you dismissed." I was like, "I don't want to talk to you." And we're leaving. And she's like, "Oh, you're not leaving." She, you know, like she was putting her hands on me cuz I I told her I was like, "Do not put your hands on me." I don't put your hands on me. >> Did you like move her hands off you at all or anything like that? I'm just saying natural reaction. If someone puts her hands on me, I'm going to just wipe their hands. >> I I didn't push. I didn't do anything. I was just like this. I was like, you couldn't even see the camera. I'm just walking. I like I got my hands off like I didn't push it. Of course, you know, if I put if I would have push it, you know, I would have put it down to the floor. But I'm just trying to get to my car, bro. Wait there for the case worker to get there and see if if they wanted to take the baby. We're going to give it to the case worker, not to the police, cuz you know the baby was scared, >> right? >> So, thanks for cooperating, man. >> I know. Can I talk to you, bro? >> Yeah. Yeah. I'm I'm telling you on the court, can you guys please check the camera so you can see I didn't so No. So you can see that I those charges, bro. I swear to God I did not push her, bro. I'm >> all I can say is whatever happened today that you got to control your emotions, man. You you let yourself get into a fight, >> bro. How you want I got it. >> Hey, but I did not push her, bro. Like I didn't go nothing like that. >> Listen listen. Not even if your kid gets taken away for a little bit for protected, >> it's not permanent. It only becomes permanent if you have a fool and you and you're showing yourself as like a as a risk to this kid. You know what I mean? Nobody wants to take your kid away. Quite honestly, there's so many kids in this world that don't have fathers, you know. >> According to the father, the discipline consisted of a [music] brief contact and a very small amount of hot sauce. However, does this fall within acceptable parenting [music] practices or was it an effort to minimize personal responsibility? >> Did she walk to the kitchen on her own or did you pull her into the kitchen? >> No, I grabbed her hand and she was following by and pulling. >> Okay. So, you you just guided her into the kitchen. Okay. So you guys went in the kitchen and then you got the hot sauce and how much hot sauce did you put on top? >> Like a little drop. >> Okay, that's it. Just Just a little bit. Not like a whole gallon of it. >> The hot sauce is like too small. >> Did you take it and like pour it like this or you put it on your finger and then you put it in? Okay. How far did you stick your finger in her mouth? >> Okay. And then what happened after that? >> Nothing. She wasn't just there. And she was like And she's like, "Can I have water?" I was like, "No." I was like, "Yeah, I keep on saying bad words." And she's like, >> "Okay." So she asked for water cuz it was her mouth was was hot. Okay. And then uh you said no. >> Yeah. And I told her no. >> Okay. And then >> and then that's it. Then I just told her I was like, "You got to listen." She's like, "Yeah, I will listen." I was like, "Okay." And then uh but before that I I told her I was like I just went not I just went like this. I went like over there. >> Mhm. >> Like right here. >> Okay. >> So like kind of like upper lower back upper upper butt kind of. Did you hit like the butt cheek or was it kind of more like the back fat area? Okay. So like kind of over Okay. >> Like go over there. I like you better stop. >> How hard did you hit her? >> Like this. >> Okay. Like on a scale of 1 to 10 >> to like two. >> Okay. >> I don't really like the number. >> Yeah. >> You know, cuz I used to get I used to get beat out when I was little. So I don't really like it. >> Mhm. Um so after you uh just hit her uh what happened? >> Nothing. She was just in her room. My left to therapy. I was there cooking. I asked her she was hungry. Then I cooked some rice, some boiled eggs, some chicken, and then uh and some uh uh roasted peppers with tomatoes. And then I served and she was eating. That's it. And then she was playing. And then the DC DCFS lady came and knocked on the door and she's like, "Oh, how you guys doing?" And I was, "Oh, good." I was like, "All the babies are not here." Okay, then I come back tomorrow 4:30. So, she was going to come today at 4:30. That's it. >> Okay. Um, was she uh during the event of the hot sauce and uh when you did she was she bleeding at all? Was her mouth bleeding, face bleeding, nose, anything like that? No blood. Okay. >> I didn't see no blood. >> You didn't see any blood? Did um did she complain about or anything like that? No. Okay. Um, so you one time and then just like a drop of hot sauce. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um, and then who who else saw that in the house? She saw it and then did anybody else did the kids see it? >> I don't know. She started making stuff up because we didn't want to give her the phone. >> Yeah. >> But in the morning she wanted her phone and we told her she couldn't have it cuz she was she was putting inappropriate videos on on uh Instagram. Okay. when she's in school and she's uh a kid in the face and we told her to delete the videos from my Instagram and then found more videos on the phone or her doing like like like chasing like the kids around and telling them stuff. I took the phone away and that's why she in the morning she was mad. In the morning she was mad because she's like, "Oh, can I have my phone?" And my was like, "No, you're not going to have it maybe till December." And she left and she was mad. >> Okay. >> So, I don't know if that's the reason why she said something in school. >> Okay. If we interview, are they going to say anything different than what you're telling me? >> I know. Are they going to say that you or more times than you're telling me? Are they going to tell me that you maybe used a little more hot sauce than just a drop? Are they going to say you used a belt? >> I didn't use a belt. >> Okay. Are they going to say anything anything else besides that though? They're not going to say that you used a belt or a shoe or anything like that? >> I didn't use my shoe. >> Okay. Uh would they say that you hit them more than once? Maybe? >> No, I only hit once. >> You only once? Okay. And then the hot sauce. You're pretty. You're pretty sure that it was only one little drop. What was that? >> The ankle monitor. >> Oh, you had the Okay. >> Little alcohol. >> Okay. [laughter] >> So, you can't drink anymore? When was the last time you drank? >> Like a month? No, more than a month ago. >> More than a month ago. Okay. So, you were completely sober last night? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Um, what happens if you drink? Does that just >> I get I get violated and I get locked up. >> Okay. Would that document if you were drinking last night? Like if we went and pulled like the Cuz we can call and be like, "Hey, you know, we're investigating this. We just want to make sure he wasn't drinking." And they'd say, "Yeah, he was, you know, it's zeros." Okay. >> Okay. >> You call my call my probation officer. His name is uh uh >> I'm not saying I don't believe you. I'm just saying we got to do our due diligence and we got to, you know, I just want to make sure cuz if god forbid, you know, said you were drinking or your kids say you were drinking last night and you're telling me you're not. It's one really easy way to figure that out and that's just calling them like, hey, I'm getting two different stories here. You know, what does the device say? And if they says he wasn't drinking, it's like, well, then I believe, you know, it just shows that you're not you're you're being truthful, which is which is good for, you know, your credibility talking to the police. Matthew, my permission for you to call my probation officer or the guy is call J O Conor. >> Okay. >> Uh from scram. That's what it's called. Scram alcohol monitor. >> Okay. >> Let me talk to my bosses. Let me talk to I'm I'm already getting locked up. I don't know. >> No, I know. I know. We're going to I'm going to do my I'm going to like I said, I don't know what happened. I just kind of heard rumblings what happened and I know you and you know me, so I figured it'd be easier if I talked to you. I was literally about to go home and cook food for for my family, but now I'm here. So, let me talk to my bosses. Let me talk. Give me a little bit before uh I let you do that. Okay, just just just sit tight. Give me like 20 minutes. During this process, the father reported a sudden health concern [music] and requested a medical evaluation. Here. Let's see over there. Have a seat over there. So, yeah. The reason you're still here is because your kids are giving them giving us a different story than what you're telling me. So, I mean, they're saying that hot sauce was used that, but they're saying a little more hot sauce than what you're telling me. >> No, I didn't put more hot sauce in than that, bro. >> I mean, how how big is the and how much did you use? Did you like put it on your mouth like this? >> No, bro. >> No, >> that's the only one I have open. I used it on my hot dogs. >> Mhm. I use it on my hot sauce. We've been How many times have I helped you out with stuff and let you go on stuff that you, you know, I probably should have arrested you on or whatnot, right? >> So, it's nothing personal. It's we have to do our due diligence and we, you know, we have laws that we have to abide by. When children are saying this stuff, we have to >> and then the girls when when there's people right there talking to them, bro, then you know, like they get all cheesy or like, "Oh, yeah." You know, like they start making [ __ ] up, bro. Make >> [ __ ] >> I believe I know. I know. We We deal with this all the time. The kids make stuff up and then, you know, we bring them and interview them and they say completely different things than what they told us initially. So, we're just we have to interview all the kids, anyone that saw anything that possibly happened and then go from there. And that's what they're doing. And it takes it takes a minute. It's not going to be quick. Um because there are so many kids. It takes about, you know, half hour to an hour per interview depending on how vocal the kid is and how much they talk and things like that. So hospital. >> Okay. So, I guess that's what we were told. We had someone down looking at a sled bridge. I guess there was a couple witnesses down there that said they heard know from where about 15 20 minutes ago. So guess that kind of lines up just how it lasts over here. You guys have any like we had or you guys there's another one of you guys down with a 440 run with a black truck and I said there was a white car a fender that took off in front of that one who knows you got him. >> Yeah. Ultimately, although the initial suspect could not be [music] identified, police determined that the father had caused the incident, misled authorities, and sought help from relatives to cover up his actions. Just one moment of poor judgment, even a minor collision, can become a serious event, especially when children are involved. And sometimes the greatest [music] risk comes from the person they trust the most. In Ohio, another child was desperately calling 911. And this time it was the victim who dialed. >> Go sit on your porch so I can ask her why she called police. >> On April 4th, 2022, Akran police received a 911 call from a 13-year-old girl reporting a serious conflict with her mother. I'll talk to you. >> No, don't talk to her. Unless you talk to me in front of her. >> That's not true at all, ma'am. If I'm investigating child abuse is what I'm here for. I'll stand back here from her if you would like. >> She's >> okay. I will talk to you after I talk to her. Please go sit on your porch. >> You can't talk to her unless >> I absolutely can. >> No. No. She She's an IEP. >> I heard you the first time. >> Special. She's special needs. YES. OKAY. THERE'S GOING TO BE A LAWSUIT right now, sir. >> Okay. >> The officers quickly lost patience with Amanda's drunken, defiant behavior. They restrained her and instantly she flipped the script, playing the victim with the classic line, "You're on my property." >> Yeah, there is. >> Go sit on your porch. >> No, no, no. Special need. She gets a social security check a month. >> Okay. Go sit on your porch. I will talk to you in a second. Otherwise, you're going to go in cuffs for obstructing justice. >> I just asked you, sir. So, you didn't call us earlier? >> She she >> So, so I'm only here to investigate what happened with the officer. So, you were asking him to call somebody else out here and then what happened? >> He didn't do anything. >> Did he give you any orders or tell you to do anything? >> No, >> he just I don't know why he did. I don't like he's like a big dude like I was going to eat. >> So, how >> I don't know. It was all on my ring video cam >> from I did comply to he had no business in my yard and then he attacked me. She kept spinning the same familiar lies forgetting it was her own daughter who called the police in the first place. >> What am I under arrest for? >> You under arrest for obstructing justice or official business? Official business. So he was giving you orders to step away so he could talk to your daughter. >> No, he was not. I kept telling him to call somebody. >> You did not listen to his orders. >> How do you know you weren't here? It's on camera. All the officers have cameras, okay? >> And I would like to get access to that. So, there will probably be a sergeant reaching out to you this week. Probably not me. So that we can get access to that video, okay? Cuz I would like to see it, but I can't see it right now because you are under arrest. >> I did. >> Here's the thing. >> Amanda, let's let's be let's be honest with each other. >> You can't even summon so I could go out my house. >> If you weren't drinking, you probably would have been able to listen to him, right? >> Listen. No, it's not. Oh my gosh. It's my day off. I worked seven days. I get it. I get it. But when the officers come out, you have to listen to them. >> He wasn't listening. >> That's not how it works. You have to listen to him because he was investigating. Okay. You can always ask for a sergeant, but you can't not comply. >> I did. >> You complied 100%. >> Yeah. >> 100%. You didn't do anything. You didn't try to pull away. You didn't try to not get arrested. You didn't argue with him at all. The cameras that I'm going to watch are going to show you being perfectly cooperative. >> I don't have to do when he went to put you under arrest. Did you cooperate? >> He had no business even being >> in my yard. >> Yes, he did. He had a call for a domestic situation. He had to investigate it by law. That is his job. Honestly, from what he told me >> and I told him that he had to call special people to deal with her and he didn't do it. So there you go. He still has to do his job. Nope. >> So there's nothing else you want to tell me? >> No, he didn't do that. He didn't do that. And he didn't listen to me. And he attacked me. He attacked me. He was placing you under arrest. >> Oh, no. No, no. He jumped on me. >> He jumped on you now. >> You act You act like I Do you think I resisted arrest? Do you think I touched him? Do you think I did any of that >> on camera? YOU PULLED AWAY. >> NO, I DID NOT. [crying] >> NO, I did not. >> Do it. >> I'm going to give you a minute to calm down and then I'll come back and talk. >> No, I did not. >> I'm going to give you a minute to calm down. >> No. >> Police gave Amanda another chance, but she clung stubbornly to her lies. >> When did I get When did I get on the phone? I just watched the video one more time. Is there anything you want to revise about your statement? >> No. >> About what happened today? >> No, >> I didn't take him or nothing. >> I didn't say you him. You did resist arrest. Okay. >> How? Why? Why would he even tell me I was under arrest >> for obstructing official business? Because you weren't looking to his orders when he's trying to investigate. >> I was telling him to call. Did you not hear that? Did you not keep hearing me say to call to call special officers out? Okay, then. >> That doesn't solve it, though. >> No. Yes. That's >> No, you still have to listen to the officer on scene. >> I did listen to him. >> No, you did not. Okay. So, do you have any other questions for me? >> I need you to uncuff me. >> That's not going to happen. Any other questions? >> Give me the summons and uncuff. >> Okay, go ahead and sit back in. >> No, I I I am. >> You already got an ambulance. >> No, they never did anything. >> Yes, they did. I stood right here the whole time. >> My arms. >> My arms. >> Put your knees in or your knees are going to hurt when I shut the door. I don't want to hurt your knee. So, sit all the way in. Amanda, sit all the way in the car. You're only going to make it worse. You're resisting. I never heard. So why were they even out here? You no he >> the mother Amanda faced charges of domestic dispute, obstructing official business, and resisting [music] arrest. Under Ohio law, she could face 12 to 18 months in jail, fines of up to $3,000 [music] and bail set as high as $18,000. Her daughter was taken to the hospital for a health check while CPS continued its investigation [music] into the case. At a sensitive adolescent age, living in prolonged conflict can lead to emotional disorders. These children often grow up feeling [music] unsafe, gradually losing self-esteem, doubting their self-worth, and developing a distorted sense of guilt. Some mothers are willing to sacrifice everything for their children. And then there are those so they drive their kids to run to the neighbor's house for help. I came up this morning cuz when she had me in the face when I opened the door, I let John in and he protected me and brought me up in. >> On May 5th, 2023, an emergency call to Illinois police was suddenly cut off. Still, they managed to catch the sound of an argument in the background and rushed over right away to check it out. When they arrived, the yelling could still be heard from the front yard. The door swung open, revealing an outofcrol mother shouting endlessly about custody rights and refusing to cooperate. >> Too bad we can hear some yelling from up to >> Hi. Did you call us? What happened? I need to go up here and get my son. Well, what? Tell us what's going on. >> I don't know, but I have custody over my son. So, come on. Is this your apartment here? >> Yeah. Okay. >> We're allowed to come in? >> Yeah. >> Wait, tell tell us what we're coming into, though, cuz I don't know what I don't know what's going on. >> Tell us why we're here. >> No. Come here, cuz my son keeps >> What's your name? >> No. Here. Come on. I'm not going to follow you into any more rooms until you tell me why we are here. My name is >> Okay. So, what's >> my son is a liar because he has a point of like he has a good grade point average but he's bad and then so what dude's head came down to it and now you want to sit over there and you want to lie to me. I have custody over you. I am trying. I am doing this [ __ ] as a woman as a single woman on my own. Ain't no section A. Ain't no link car. I am doing this [ __ ] >> I got you. Right here. >> Where are we going? And what are we doing? >> Right here. >> We can talk first. I don't I have no idea what this is about. >> He is allowing this dude to to sit there over here and then understand like this dude is supposed to be doing this and that and the third. But come on now. I'm your mother. And then guess what? I have to be I have to be the cool person. Then I have to be the authority person. And then I have to still be within whatever it is to be a parent. But first of all, that's my child. So let me ask you some questions real quick. Okay. You live here in apartment A. Where is your child at? >> My child is up here. And let's go up where? >> Up where? >> And then you going to come on here wherever. >> Where is he at? Is it in a different apartment? Are we going to a different house? like I need I need more details after >> and then ask Curtis. She said she is >> apartment B right here. >> So he's in apartment B with a friend or who does he know in apartment B? >> I don't know who he is. Am I going to come get my child? >> Okay. So who's he with >> or so y'all going to get the out? I can do either one but I need so I'm asking you yes I have jurisdiction that is my child and now he is mad because now I have to be two sides just cuz I'm a woman I have to be two sides I have to be authority then plus I have to be friends with you then plus I have to >> How old is he? >> He's 13. >> Okay. So you're trying to go to apartment B to get him to come back into apartment A >> who lives in Is that what I'm understanding? >> I don't know. Are you going to come over here? >> I'm happy to help you. I I First of all, you're not you're not going to snap your fingers at me. >> I'm not trying to ask to. But this is my son. Hey, no man gave [ __ ] for him. >> We understand. So, we're here to tell you his father went over there to the military, got blown up, and was up and I stayed here. I stay here and I got this [ __ ] I got this [ __ ] out the mud. Even this [ __ ] ain't no section. I did that. So you ain't going to tell me. Yeah, because it's hard. You going to have to do hard. It don't matter within like you're a boss. It doesn't matter if they like you. >> All right. >> What happens is they supposed to respect you. >> Let's go talk to your son. What's his name? >> Following the mother, police witnessed the entire horrifying scene. She barged into the neighbor's apartment and grabbed the child who had just fled domestic violence. And that's when the first charge came. Trespassing. I'm done with this [ __ ] >> Watch that. >> Who lives in number two? Stop banging on my damn my HEY Y'ALL. HEY, >> STOP. YOU SEE WHAT I'M SAYING, BRO? That's why that's exactly why he's up here. >> And that's not >> That's exactly why he's up here. Exactly why. >> Thank you. I told you. Bring >> us another We'll get We'll get the story once we get her cuz she's got her daughter is coming too in a couple more minutes from school. So, I was going to bring her up there, too. >> We'll get the story in a second. I truly have really no idea what's going to Now I'm not detained. So, now I'm not detained. So you detain me for what reason? So now you have a false detainment because I live in the in the building. So what are you saying? >> Don't live in here. >> And what is trespasses, baby? You gave me a whole thing. >> Where does this door down there go to? >> And then here. No, we going it goes outside. >> Yeah, we going to go. So, I'm recording for trespassing within my own home. >> You don't live in number two. >> I don't live in number two, but it's still my building. >> That doesn't matter. So, okay, then let's go. >> Even while being escorted away, she kept screaming and rambling incoherently. >> We're going to wait till we have someone else that can help him walk you down the stairs. >> And bam, let's go. Let's go. >> We're not ready to go >> because No, you going to have to because Yes, everything is being on recording. >> Yes, we have body cam. >> Yes. And then you have body cam and so do I, too. And now you retain me for no reason. in the apartment. She doesn't have her on something. Okay. Who's she talking to? >> Just herself. Okay. >> We just help get her down the stairs. >> All right. Take me down the stairs. If I don't get my son, I swear to God. >> That's on you. Some accountability and responsibility >> and then some responsibility. Slow. We don't want you walk slow without any permission. You are alive and now get me off of your >> son. Time to go. >> All right. >> I think this was pretty much it, right? >> Yeah. No, I didn't. And then put it on record. >> Keep going, JR. I got to go ask that guy a couple more. >> And then I put it on recording. Say I was going to do you. >> No, I didn't. Come on. And here you go. >> Then suddenly became agitated, threw herself to the ground, resisted wildly, and even an officer in the leg. >> And you know, I got the button to unlock his car. >> Is it J's car? >> So I said I was going to do to you, >> right? I said I was going to do her. Yeah, I'm recording. No, I ain't said I was going to do to this woman. Oh. Oh, not you. >> And I'm sorry if somebody >> I never did anything. >> So what did I do? Okay. >> No. >> Get up. >> No. >> Aren't going to do it. >> We're going to stand you up. >> We're going to stand you up. >> Hold up. >> This ain't going to cut it. >> No. >> It's not. It's going to happen eventually. >> There is going to be There's going to be Yes, you can. >> You got to get up off the ground first. >> One thing. If you don't want to put yourself in the car, >> it's your last chance to stand up. Don't >> Please stand on your own or you're never going to bother. >> Will you stand on your own, please? and knives. >> Will you stand on your own, please? Miss her. >> There we go. >> Don't do not >> ready. >> All right. All right. >> Turns out this mother was a alcoholic. She had been drinking since the night before, then her son right in front of his friends. If it weren't for the neighbors, [music] the boy might have taken the full force of his mother's inhuman rage. >> So, what's going on? >> Nothing. >> I came downstairs to get a blow dry from her, but they was having problems. He locked herself in his room. I here go y'all may right here. I seen her open the door and she comes out and trying to like girl you can't do that. Like says with me, bro, cuz she join obviously she out her mind. So, he knows me and he knows my son. They hang out and stuff like that. >> What's your relation with her? Come on. >> I just hear everything going around. >> He already is a good person, but she's had a lot to drink. >> Yeah, we can chill. We can tell. So, we we'll be taking care of it. I appreciate it. >> Tried telling her something now, >> and now we're here. Good. Well, thank you. No worries. >> Appreciate it. How's it going, bud? So, what happened to Aman? >> She was already drunk. >> Mhm. >> I went, she started talking to me about some stuff at the library. Me and my sister like cuz it was a kids at the library cursing. So, me and my sister went upstairs to like from the team room to the kids room. We was playing ABC. And so, she got mad like about something. I don't know. >> Your mom got mad. >> Mhm. I don't know. So, you just came home from school, noticed that she was drunk, went to the library with your sister. >> That was yesterday. >> Oh, that was yesterday. >> She was talking about stuff that happened yesterday. And so, when I tried to go in my room and just like, you know, block it all out. >> Okay. Was there something going on in the library that she was upset about? >> I don't really know. Like, cuz cuz she says my sister like I had told my sister to lie about something, but I didn't tell her to lie about them. >> Right. Okay. So, she's just Is she usually drunk all the time? >> No. >> No. She was trying to do this two week 74-hour day challenge like to not get drunk and to not drink none of that. >> What happened today? When did she start drinking? >> Last night. >> Last night. And it just gone came on to today then. >> Did you stay here with your neighbor for since yesterday then? >> No. I came up this morning cuz when me in the face when I opened the door, I let John in and he protected me and brought me up. Oh, this mother had once lost custody for but was given it back just for good behavior. The problem is after serving her sentence, she returned to the same pattern. Drunk, and irresponsible. Neighbors were sick of it. Time after time, she got drunk and took it out on the child. >> So, that's something you can't even get the >> Stop. And then you stop when you reach over to the stop. >> No, >> I ain't did [ __ ] And I said I ain't did. >> If you take it off, I'm just going to write you a ticket. I They'll be good. I'm good. charges. Are you going to press charges for her? >> So, she she's just detained right now. She was just trying to rush through the door. She's obviously not allowed in here. Yeah, there's a lot going on. So, okay. >> She's just trying to hurry up and get my hair done so I can go cuz she's really mad >> about the whole situation now. >> No, >> she's just upset about this chaotic. >> Okay. Obviously, she's not under arrest right now. You don't want to press charges, >> but she needs to fish tank. Y'all need to put her somewhere so she can sleep that off because if she comes back, guess what? Cuz they ain't going to call the police if she You know what I'm saying? >> So it's like, >> you know, we don't have a fish tank. >> Y'all need to y'all need to keep her for a while cuz all she's going to do is start back more chaos, more mayhem. >> So like how do things now aspect? So you don't want to press charges for the criminal trespass. >> So you really don't have anything, >> man. I'm not trying to do that, but she can't be in the same They can't be with her right now. That's all I'm saying. >> So, when did you get back from DCFS? >> Probably like three months. What? Three, four, five months ago. Yeah. She had Yeah, she had she had the social work lady coming over to make sure that everything was in order and stuff and I guess after a certain period she was able to get her kids back, but still it's like this is an ongoing thing. >> It's not good when she's >> No, she drinks every day and that's crazy. He just so happened to be home from work and then he has to deal with that all day while they at school. So I mean it's like that every single day dealing with her. She's always causing chaos. Everybody in the store knows about her. So this is just a matter which way she's downstairs. As soon as you go downstairs >> domestic violence remains a deeply troubling and widespread issue. It doesn't just cause depression, anxiety, and isolation. It silently damages the mental health, behavior, and development of thousands of children every single day. I'll >> follow you down. >> Okay, sounds good. I got to follow her and you are my child. And now you live on and I did everything that I was supposed to. Now you did live on >> Cal Sam 13. >> Yeah, you did that. >> And then I lied, right? And I was going to get my child, right? I'll be in PD with 195 starting mileage. >> 98219.1 98 219.1 >> put me in my crib. But you allowed that money. Look at this record. You said that I lied, right? >> All right. >> Yeah. What are my charges? >> Trespassing and resisting a peace officer. should be as long as you're cooperative. >> All right. But look though, bro, you should have been over there with him and that dude. >> No, bro. What are you talking about? Why are you talking to right now? >> Yes. He should not be upstairs. >> Turn around and walk in. >> Remember I said, >> and I'm telling you, he should I think I think she thinks she's talking to JRock. The general what I'm what I'm getting. >> I'm telling you, you should never ever have let him be over there with him. That's why I stood in the on the way a woman should do. Would you honestly let your son be over there with a man who honestly had five domestic viol a statistic? Can you take off your hoodie >> here? And I'm telling you that. Yes, I have a hoodie. You should have brought him down and let him see what it is supposed to be like. >> He didn't come in our but I'm going hold your shirt down. Take your hoodie off. >> Go over there and talk to Gabby. >> Let's get the hoodie off. >> Yeah. >> And then you So get your No, you got to do that. >> At the police [snorts] station, the mother still wouldn't stop. She screamed, resisted, even attacked officers, digging herself deeper into guilt. What's worse, she kept insisting she did nothing wrong and blamed everyone but herself. >> And place that in her glasses on the cover for me. >> You should. You left him within the wrong. >> I could have did more here. >> Well, we can address your concern because you busted into that apartment. >> I didn't bust into that apartment. I stopped my child from being involved within a drug deal. You >> How do you spell your last name, Bianca? >> Curtis. And I did. I did the right thing. And then now >> trying to be over like And now he doesn't feel like oh and look now. I think you know what he believes in like oh there no money or anything like that. Well, >> this is what I found in the car. >> She was She had the phone in her hand and this was sitting on the floor cuz it wasn't there this morning when I did my >> Oh, you know it was I tried to tell you when I tried to get my kids I tried to get my kids my son was arguing against me. Are you all done with the one? >> If he goes through that if he goes through that, it's going to be the same. >> I never got to leave that stuff here. But you can tuck in your your but >> we're going to go on number four. I don't even know who you're talking to. You allowed a child to go. >> I didn't allow anybody to do anything. Okay. This way, please. Okay. >> Don't touch him. >> I'm not going down. >> Get down on the bench and stay there. >> This is going. >> You don't EVEN KNOW WHO YOU'RE TALKING TO. >> Watch your fingers. Watch your fingers. WATCH YOUR FINGERS. >> STOP. ON THE GROUND. STOP. Sit down. >> Grab grab me one MORE TIME. ONE MORE TIME. >> ALL RIGHT. >> I SAW IT. PLEASE DO NOT LET >> GO. SIT DOWN. DAMN. >> AGAIN. STOP. >> KNOCK IT OFF. Please stop. >> We're going to go check on him. You stay right there. Did she grab or push or anything on you to where? >> Yeah. >> All right. Well, then I'm calling for a felony review. The mother was arrested and held on three charges resisting arrest, trespassing, anding a peace officer. Under Illinois law, she could face up to 6 years in prison, fines of up to $50,000, and a total bail ranging from $16,000 to $32,000 for all three offenses. A child's future is shaped by the example set by their parents. No matter how hard life gets, parents must never take their anger out on their children. That's not just a responsibility, it's the only way to truly protect them. Sometimes just one thoughtless choice, a brief lapse of control or a single moment of self-justification can change the course of a life entirely. The children in today's stories are not just bystanders. They are the ones affected by those who were meant to keep them safe.
