your I think she was feeding I think I saw her coming westbound I couldn't get her cuz the guard was she was I got to run to the truck yeah go ahead police identify the suspected drunk driver seen here as get this a 48-year-old Texas Woman by the name of Margarita Bautista officers get a chance to talk with Witnesses before questioning the suspect the how catch you uh I think I clocked her at 93 you remember that car the yeah it's it was already bro it was already smashed on the side I tried to catch her there and and I couldn't with the Bob wire hey what do you guys di to did you guys see anything yeah where are you guys were you guys also um so they in the truck and I'm in the the gray car okay uh the I'm in the great pat so I mean I don't know ma'am I honestly I feel so bad uh oh you going to need my ID too yeah can I have all your ID we're just going to have a witness statement just cuz you know it's injury and we do have a kid so I would just like to she intoxicated she was sing on I think she is and I was going to make a call because she was sing so bad that I was hanging back because I didn't want to um get hit and then she went off the road one Officer says she allegedly clocked Margarita speeding over 90 mph but was unable to pull over the dangerous driver before the crash officers continue talking to Witnesses and what happened from your like what did you see we ran into probably 3 to four miles back and they were it was like all over the road she was speeding up and then slowing down and then speeding up and slowing down and so we purposely like fell back just to let her go and get away and we didn't see like this actually happen we just saw the dirt fly up and knew instantly that it was that car because it the driving was so aramatic and then from your perspective what did you see so they came speeding past me and you were in the right lane yeah I was in the right lane cuz I can only do seven exactly and she was going back and forth against the lines and then she went in front of me and I was P my best friend and all of a sudden I seen her she hit the rumble shps jerked it and went all the way over there I I SL on the do you know how many times you flipped no I didn't see that part all I see was the dust are you in the sem yeah multiple Witnesses tell police the suspect was seen driving recklessly before the crash next investigators get a chance to talk to Margarita who is getting checked out in an ambulance can I get through yeah you speak Spanish right what did she say like what happened so she said that they were coming from California down to Texas because the brother was passing away okay so before he went to Mexico and then they were coming back and then that back tire the one that fell off she said that that one was loose but they had to come down and I guess they never got to check out any it and it flew out and that's what caused the ask her about how fast was she going she says the car she says the car wasn't it's old she said it doesn't work she says nothing work yeah she says the car doesn't really work Margarita blames the crash on a faulty vehicle but officers have a few more questions for the suspect so will you just tell her run down so what happened again sorry I don't speak Spanish so she's coming from where she's coming from Texas okay and going where she's going back to California okay and for what her brother you said so so she left California to come down to Texas because her brother was passing the way was going to mexic so then so they left Texas they're going back to California California didn't anything shelter okay so they're they're going back to a shelter in California Margarita claims she and her 8-year-old child were on their way to visit her brother keep this in mind if if if her daughter's going to stay with her that's what we're trying to figure out so it's not it's not looking police said the 8-year-old child was taking taken to the hospital and treated for unknown injuries Margarita was booked for DWI DWI with a minor in the vehicle an abuse of a child resulting in great bodily harm court records show the child abuse charge was later dismissed Margarita is expected back in court to face the other charges this fall
