She hit me in the eye and she hit me on the side of my face and then as you can tell by my hair, she was swinging me around by my hair and I'm 17 years old. So yeah, I got in her face. I sure did. I have a right to be in her face. She's a minor. That's how smart you are, smart one. Next time I'll be out of her. >> It's every parent's duty to protect their children. But what happens when the roles reverse? And it's the kids who are forced to call the police for protection from their own parents. >> What's been going on? >> My mom's freaking out. My dad, >> I'm not getting in your vehicle. Now you >> didn't get him to beat him. >> Ouch. >> You son of a >> pervert. I hope you enjoy beating up little women. I hope >> These were the times when good kids snitched on their criminal parents. Starting off with a heartbreaking case involving a 4-year-old kid who had to call for help after she witnessed a horrible incident at home. >> And I got on the phone. It was like mommy need help or something of another. So we came and running. >> Did he punch you? >> No punched you, Regina. We got blue before and over there. Who >> come in the house? >> Simon. >> Simon came in the house. But did Simon hit mommy? >> She said, "Uh, mommy need help." >> On October 22nd, 2022, officers responded to a 911 call after a 4-year-old girl called her grandparents claiming that her mother was hurt. When police arrived, paramedics were already tending to Regina, who had visible facial injuries from an apparent domestic assault, setting the stage for a tense and complex investigation. >> What's your uh relation >> uh to GI her husband, Bar's husband? That's my stepdaughter, >> granddaughter. >> Injured is uh stepdaughter. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Now, stay there and stay right there. >> Morning. figure that out. There's all through the >> hallway signal 41 in here. >> Yeah. >> Uh do you know what happened? >> No, I did. She uh she called me on the phone. We was at the house. She called me on the phone. I could barely understand her. I don't know what she was trying to say. She need help. She needed something. >> Mhm. >> Then the Nia got on the phone. It was like uh mommy need help or something of another. So we came and running. >> Mhm. >> While we on the way we dial 911 or whatever, we got here and saw her on the ground bleeding and stuff. As far as what happened? >> I couldn't tell. >> Who does she live here with? >> Um her her boyfriend day daddy. >> So 41 we >> uh Simon. >> Is he not here? >> He's supposed to be at work. Supposed to be at work. Uh supposed to work at a Waffle House down the street. >> Okay. Has he been contacted? >> No. >> No. >> There's like some shake left, but there's four or five like large mason jars. That's pretty deep. But then like a whole tray of like lighters like you'd see in the gas station. I mean, everything's there except the >> this first room on the left. Just checking to make sure there's no one else in here. And uh >> just sitting right there on the counter. >> You try talking to us. Okay. And uh who's the woman with her right now? >> Uh that's my wife. Her mother. >> Okay. Her mother. >> Yeah. >> As officers spoke with relatives, they learned Regina's mother had dialed 911 while rushing over after her granddaughter's alarming call. The home was filled with panic and confusion as police worked to piece together what had happened. >> You hit him. >> You hit Sean. >> Who'd you hit? >> One out of head injury. I >> hit on the right. I hit on right. >> You hit him in the eye. He punched you. >> Who punched you, Regina? Regina, >> did he punch you back here or did he punch you out? >> It's your fault, baby. People does some crazy thing. It's not your fault. >> It's not your fault. >> It's not fault, baby. >> When did you get the call? >> Could have been 15, 20 minutes ago, she called. >> Okay. >> As soon as she called, but when she got on the phone, we was out the door. >> Where was she at when you got here? >> Uh, she Well, Marsha came and ran in here first, so I don't know if she Well, she had to open the door for hers, so >> Okay. So, so she opened the door. >> Yeah. You open the door for mama. >> You open the door for mama. >> Was the door already open? >> Is it already open? >> So, it's just her and Regina in here. >> Yeah. >> Good job. It's good job. You protected your child. It's not your fault. Okay, >> Regina. I just need to know who it was. Okay. Was it Sean? >> You need to know who it is. >> Was it Simon? >> Better not be Simon because I'm going over there. >> Was it Sean? >> Was it Shimon? Are you sure? >> No, I won't. >> Are you definitely sure? You're not protecting him. >> Cuz you protecting him. It's not going to work. >> He got picked up by >> Oh, he got picked up by Shy. Okay. >> So, I came by him. >> Okay. He's at work. >> We're going to go ahead and get her down to the truck. All right. She needs to get over there and get X-ray and all that good stuff. I'll take that tooth out. >> It's okay. You okay? Does anything weird happen like people coming over here ever that you we don't even really come over here like everyone other than pick the kids up that's >> so we got Simon's boyfriend Sean >> yeah I'll get there >> so who's Simon >> her boyfriend his father >> okay and Sean is going to Sean what? >> Sean is the uh baby daddy. >> Yeah. >> Of the kid out there. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Do you know a last name for him? >> Pink. I don't know what they call him Sean. I call him Simon. >> So he's Simon Pink. >> Yeah. I guess she calls him Sean. I'm not sure, but we call him Simon. Okay. >> So Simon Pink and the last name is Pink. Okay. >> The kids same guy's kid's name. >> Uh so you're saying So >> she's saying that Simon left >> Mhm. and came went back. It was he went to work. One of his friend picked him picked up picked him up and then somebody knocked on the door. She thought it was Simon and some guy baldhead darkkinned came in, punched her and she fought him. >> Could you come talk to your daughter? She's being combative and she don't want that. >> See if you can see anything. >> Okay. So, on the wall on the door. We got blood all over the floor and blood over there. >> Officers quickly pieced together statements from witnesses. Regina's mother and stepfather said only Regina, her boyfriend Simon, and their young daughter lived in the home. The family's worry and confusion filled the air as police tried to determine what happened. >> What did she say when she called y'all? Did she call y'all? Is that how y'all found out? >> She was calling my husband and then she flat out. >> She called her phone first. I heard the phone ringing, but we didn't get to. So, she called mine. I guess I picked up. I couldn't understand what she was talking about. >> Then uh she got on the phone with her like, "Mommy, you need help?" >> So we ran on out the door and came in. >> So is that all she said? >> Um she said that um Simon went Simon went to work and few minutes later the door she knocked somebody knocked on the door. She thought it was Simon. So she opened the door and person came in and punched her on her face trying to get Nana. >> Trying to get the child. >> Yeah. >> What would be the reasoning for that? Could not tell you that. >> Okay. Was there something in the house that he wanted? Was he talking to items or something else? >> Think anybody wants anything in the house? >> Okay. Do they >> do they have an history of arguments? Her and um Simon. >> Simon. Oh, yeah. >> Simon. >> Simon and Sean are the same person. Same person. >> Simon and Sean are the same person. >> Yeah. We know as a Simon. >> People always know him as Simon. >> So, how many people stay here? >> Uh just her and sometimes Simon's. Okay. >> And the kids are with me. >> Okay. The kids are with you most. >> Yeah. Because she wears nights. >> Okay. And the kids are her and Simon's. >> Yes. >> Correct. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> So, >> do you believe that Simon came back or do you believe that somebody actually came back here and tried to like progress? >> I will go to Simon first. >> Okay. And he's supposed to be at supposed to be at Waffle House right now. She said she says he's supposed to be at work. >> Okay. >> I don't know what Waffle House is. He still work at the other Waffle House. >> Okay. So, is that all she told you when you got here? pretty much. And he says she's trying to save um Annayia trying uh all she was saying is trying to save Nana. He wanted Nana. >> Was uh Nana the only child here? >> No, we have another one at home, too. >> Okay. But the only one? She >> Yeah, she was the only one cuz we wanted to watch a movie and she doesn't sit still. >> So, we dropped her here and then we was going to come pick her up, but then she said she was doing fine and she's going to send me the video saying, "Hey, she's watching TV and stuff like that." So, we said, "Okay, fine." You know, we'll let her spend the night here. And next minute I know we're sitting there watching TV and she called. >> What did the child say about um who came in? Did she say it was Simon? >> Baby, >> baby, anybody came? Did Did anybody the other man came and hit mommy or something? >> No. >> Who? Who hit mommy? >> So what happened to mommy? >> Did somebody else come in the house? >> Did somebody else come in the house? >> Did she say anything on the phone call? >> Who come in the house? >> Simon. >> Simon came in the house. But did Simon hit mommy? See, Simon hit mommy. >> Is that what happened? >> Excuse me. >> Did she say anything on the phone call about? >> No, she's a fouryear-old, so it's not too much. >> What What did she say? What did she say on the phone call when she when >> what she said? >> She said, "Uh, mommy need help." Or some something about mommy. I I don't know. I was >> zoning out for a minute, so I don't know exactly what she was saying, but all all I heard is mommy need help. >> Mhm. You're a good girl. >> When you guys got here, what did what did um she say about the situation? >> Somebody came and hit her. She's trying to protect Nana. That's about it. >> Did she say Simon or did she say >> No, she never mentioned no name. Somebody came. >> Somebody came, knocked her out, and that was it. But I would get checked up on Simon first, just in case. >> Uncertainty about the identity and location of the suspect guided officer's next steps as they worked to unravel conflicting stories. But the most heartbreaking detail came from Regina's four-year-old, who told the officers what she saw. >> I would not know anything this first time I walked in this building >> before I signed this lease. >> Okay. >> It's on my name cuz, you know, she's not a great human being. >> Hate to say that. >> So, you said they have history of >> violence. >> Violence, arguments, maybe. >> Yeah. Well, that I'm I'm sure gave there's been blows several times before. >> Yeah, there's there's several blows here and there. So that's what's >> But I don't think it will go that far. >> I don't think I don't I don't think it would ever go that far. >> I don't think this will go this far. No, I don't know. >> So what what's leading you to leave it, Simon? >> I don't know. >> You just feel like it. >> I just feel like something went down or something. I don't know what went down cuz I don't know. She's pretty what? Temperamental person, too. >> And when she's drinking, it's it's kind of, you know, whatever. >> He had to been like six. He had to been like face too. >> Do you recognize him from anywhere? >> I don't I don't I really I really honestly I don't. >> And it wasn't Sean or Simon. >> No, cuz what makes it so up >> Simon was asleep and it makes it so up cuz I done got knocked >> $3,000. Where did Simon go then? >> I don't know if he was asleep. No, they're always arguing, you know. Not physical. I've never seen physical, but always arguing so much of it. >> Yeah. But not physical. You seen the kids room? >> I am having a heart attack right now. >> I don't even want to see it. >> I'm having a heart attack right now. Look at all the >> So, what happened on your mom? >> Um, daddy. Mommy. >> Yeah. >> Who was it? >> Daddy. >> Daddy. When did that happen? Earlier. Were they arguing? >> Yeah. >> Do you know what they were arguing about? >> Diamond. >> Diamond. >> Diamond. >> Daddy. >> Oh, Simon. They were arguing about Simon. Where were they arguing at? >> Mommy room. >> In mommy's room. Okay. Where did he go? Do you know? Did he say where he was going? >> In Waffle House. >> Waffle House. >> Oh, Waffle House. >> Okay. >> You're a good girl. >> You are a good girl. Did you see this happen or did you hear this happen? >> Yeah, I saw her bleeding. >> You saw her bleeding? Okay. But did you hear them arguing though? >> Where were you when they were arguing? >> Um, in the room by myself. >> In the room by herself. Is this your room right here? >> No. >> Yeah. Okay. So, you just heard everything going on in mommy's room? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Thank you, Nathan. Mommy got friends that come over here. >> No. >> Does daddy got friends that come over here? >> No. Did I just open? >> Okay, I'm sorry. >> Just a dual. >> Meanwhile, Regina, still recovering, insisted that someone else came to the door and hit her, making the investigation even more confusing. >> So, listen to this real quick. Go to the hospital cuz whatever happened, you got knocked in the face somehow. And if you go to sleep cuz you drank a little bit and you've got a concussion, you might not wake up. So, that's why you got to go to the hospital. Okay. >> You're going to hospital. You left Nana by herself with all this mess up there. You're going to hospital and check yourself out. So >> no, you going to jail. Knock yourself out. Go over there. You going in. And that's all there is to it. >> Yeah, it is. >> And then Simon hit you. It was nobody else hit you. Simon hit you. I know. Cuz Nana told me >> Simon hit you. You and Simon got into it. >> We did not. >> Well, why did Nana say that Simon hit you? Go to the doctor. >> Okay. Y'all want to know? >> I do want to call Shah. What? >> Simon's manager. >> Okay. >> Cuz she was there and she was there to pick up Simon from work. >> Okay. So, >> Simon left and >> Okay, baby. Baby. >> No. No. No. No. Cuz what makes it so bad is because >> these people don't have time for all your mess. Okay. You need to go to the doctor and get it over with. No. >> Regina. >> DJ. You got to go to the doctor. >> I'm about to find out. tried to take my child. >> No one's trying to take your child right now. >> You got You got so much stuff going on in your head. >> You got No, you're drinking. >> Yeah, you drinking. GG. GG. You don't know that? >> Nope. I do. >> Okay, fine. But you're going to the doctor. >> He said, "But all three of my kids were evil." >> Okay, fine. >> And I know who said it. Who said it? >> What we need you to do is just sit tight. >> My tires. Which which glad you change your tire? >> Don't worry about it. I'm looking. >> No, we need to deal with it now. Who changed your tire? Where was the tire place? Where was the tire place? Gigi, >> I'm drunk. I I don't understand what I'm talking about. I'm drunk. As as everybody keep want mom to ride with you or one of us to follow you? >> I don't need nobody. >> If y'all want to follow me, >> I'll follow you. >> Y'all be good. Just She just just need to be checked out. >> Make sure >> it's just every time you leave, she starts unbuckling. No. >> Okay. I'm going with you. I'm going. >> You want to go? >> Yeah. >> All right. You can go get you. >> You want to go tell him quick? So, cuz cuz you guys got the four-year-old. >> Yes, he does. >> Oh, it's okay cuz the mother's a jerk. >> None of us said that. >> His father. Congratulations. >> Yeah. >> That's what y'all think. >> Oh, wow. >> No, no, no. Yes, you do. >> We just think that you need to go to the hospital and get checked out. I'm about to claim I'm about to get checked out. I'm about to get checked out cuz I'm Johnny. >> Officers went to Simon's workplace to hear his side of the story, but as expected, he denied all allegations and refused to cooperate, making the investigation even more difficult. >> I can talk to you outside for a sec. >> So, do you know Regina? >> Yeah. >> So, what happened between you guys? >> What you mean? >> What happened between you guys tonight? >> Tonight? Yeah. What happened? You guys were arguing. So you guys were arguing. Did it get physical? Anything like that? >> No. >> No. So you don't know what happened at all? >> No, I don't know what happened. Just >> Where you going, man? >> Tell me what happened. I'm just posting up. >> Just come over here and talk to us, man. I don't want, you know, we don't need anybody. >> Just tell me what happened. Just tell tell me what happened. What happened? >> Were we guys arguing a little bit tonight before you went to work? Not necessarily. >> No. >> No. >> What What were you guys talking about? >> I I don't know. >> You don't know at all. >> I mean, what what what was you talking about? >> Do you know Annayia? >> Yes. >> My daughter? >> Your daughter? >> Yes, sir. >> You're your guys' daughter, right? You and Regina. Okay. She said that you beat Regina. >> Annayia said I beat Regina. >> Yes, she did. >> You know what? I'm glad I'm glad what happened is that my manager was actually the one that like escorted me to work. >> Mhm. >> So I Yeah. Y'all are going to do whatever y'all want to do. >> But >> So she's your manager there. >> That's my manager right there. >> She pick you up. What kind of car does she drive? >> I I I don't know. You want to You might want to ask You could ask her. >> Okay. And what's her name again? >> You can ask her. >> You don't know your manager's name? I do know my manager's name, but you guys are going to do whatever y'all want to do to me anyway. >> Okay, dude. I'm just trying to help you out. >> I understand, sir. No, no. Listen, you're going to do what you have to do to do the job. The same way I have a scrambled eggs up. >> So, I I would like you, if you don't mind, you can just ask her what happened cuz you ask her what happened. >> So, what happened? >> I don't know. I don't I don't >> I'm asking you what happened. >> No, no, Well, well, you just told me that I beat my baby mom in front of my daughter, and I'm telling you that my manager >> So, why is there any reason that she would be saying that? Were you guys arguing? >> No. No, I don't. >> You got You weren't arguing before you went to work? >> I mean, she was mad at me for not waking up on time. >> Oh, okay. So, you just woke up late? >> I mean, my manager's right there, sir. My manager's right there. >> I'll sit down there and wait right here for you guys. Relax, sir. >> I'm going to sit down and Listen, >> I'm going to sit down and wait for you guys to do whatever y'all want to do, but I'm going to sit down while we're doing Can I get a milk crate? >> Just Yeah, you can get a milk crate. >> I get a milkshake. >> All right. We're not here to like blame you for anything or do anything like that. We just need your side of the story because I can tell Listen, listen. I can tell you this, man. Us going off of her side of the story, I don't ever going I don't ever like, >> you know, going off the basis of one side of the story cuz there's always two sides of the story. I promise you it's in your best interest to get your side of the story and us not simply go off her side. You know what I'm saying? >> My side of the story is that I was sleeping and I woke up late for work and everybody was mad at me for waking up late for work. >> Who's everybody? >> Huh? >> Regina. >> My manager. >> Your manager >> and and Regina. >> And Regina. >> So, okay. >> I'm going to go get a cigarette out of my pocket if you guys don't mind. >> That's fine. But so, did she uh what did she say when you woke up late? Why did Regina care about that? >> My manager said, "If you don't mind asking her, >> well, I'm not I say don't matter. >> It does matter, man. We're not It doesn't matter. It does." >> Under further questioning, Simon insisted he'd been at work all morning and that the assault claims were false. But as his denials clashed with statements from Regina and their daughter, officers pressed for concrete details and evidence to verify his timeline. >> So, did she come and pick you up from work or did you drive here? >> Who? >> Your manager. >> No, I drove to work. >> You drove to work? Yes, sir. >> Did she come and wake you up? >> I mean, she came and woke me up. >> She came and woke you up. Okay. Then you guys went separately. >> Okay. I >> actually left the house before she did. So, >> what time did you wake up at? >> I don't know, sir. I woke up late for work. >> What time was I supposed to be at work at 9:00 and I got here at 9:30? >> Okay. So, you just woke up a little bit late. I went to >> So, what happened after you woke up? Woke up late for work. >> Everybody was mad and telling me to hurry up and go to work and then I I got ready and went to work. Was it that red? >> No, it's blue. That blue Nissan road. >> Okay. All right. So, you drove to work and then what happened from there? >> And then I came to work. >> Okay. All right. Well, what does your manager have to do with this? Cuz you keep telling us to speak to your manager. >> She was she was there. >> What was she there for? >> To to I don't know. >> To wake you up or to make sure that you're okay. >> Honestly, do you mind talking to her about it? >> There's another awesome thought. How did she come into the picture of the apartment? What was she doing? >> I woke up and it was both in my face telling me to get up and go to work. >> The manager and your uh girlfriend? >> Yes. >> Okay. Did y'all get an argument in there or anything? >> I wouldn't say so. I was just saying y'all hold on. Wait till I get ready and go to work and then I and then I eventually got ready and >> Did she leave before you? I >> I told you I went to work. I left before she did. >> Okay. So, you left before Shay did? >> Yeah. Okay. So, you don't know what happened after that? >> I got you. >> Did you go back to the apartment or anything? No, >> I've been at work since. >> Okay. If we take the cameras, it's going to be you being at work the entire time. >> What time did you get alert? >> Uh, probably got to 9:30. >> 9:30. So, it's going to be you at work and everyone else is in there. All your other managers and co-workers going to say you were at work. >> But then you will see Shai coming and laughing. >> Okay. So all of them are going to say and then the cameras are all going to show that you've been here the entire time >> from like 9 9:30 on. >> Okay. And what time should I get? >> I'm not sure. First of all, I apologize for doing a stand. >> But um it might have been like five, seven minutes after I got here. Okay. Is there a reason why your daughter would be saying that you and your girlfriend got an argument? >> If it was an argument and she heard she heard everybody yelling at me, telling me get ready for work and really saying, "Oh, I'm tired." >> Yeah. >> If that's an argument, then that's an argument. If that's what y'all wouldn't consider argument. >> Okay. All right. Well, how did uh Regina, how did she get marked up? >> Marked up? How do how did she get marked up? How >> like there was obviously some sort of altercation. >> There was >> Yeah. And Regina's saying that you were involved and your four-year-old daughter is saying that you were involved. >> Involved how? >> Like involved in the argument. And >> and involved in an argument or an altercation? >> I don't know. That's what I'm asking you for. >> I'm confused the same way you confused, sir. >> Yeah. involved in obviously the argument because you said that you know they woke up and y'all started arguing but were you involved? >> I didn't say we started arguing. I said that they I woke up and they was yelling at me telling me to hurry up and get ready for work and blah blah blah. I woke up and saying yeah hold on I don't feel like getting ready to go to work yet. >> With the arguments reaching a standoff, investigators were left uncertain how to proceed. It had essentially become a four-year-old's word against the suspects. Did she get physical with you at all during the argument? >> No, she didn't touch you at all or do anything like that or push you or hit you or anything? >> Regina didn't. >> What's the mark on your face from? >> I'm sorry. >> What's the mark on your face from? >> If I have a mark on my face, I don't know where that's from. >> You don't know it's from? >> Where is it? >> You got it right here. >> I don't. >> Oh, okay. What I'm trying to understand here is what would make your four-year-old daughter and your baby mama, what would make them both say that you were involved in this? >> I just want your side of the story, man. >> I just told you my side of the story. She been upset with me because I got somebody else pregnant a while back and >> we still dealing with that. all of that little stuff going on, but it's not nothing that >> I would think anybody put their hands on each other. >> After reviewing Simon's criminal history, authorities discovered prior allegations of assault against another child's mother. Regina, still shaken and recovering, agreed to stay with her mother while the investigation continued. With conflicting accounts, officers prioritized ensuring the child's safety above all else. And Na was there. She was watch she was on my phone and we was just just just all laying in the bed just chilling. And he end up falling asleep. We end up um his manager ends up texting me. I end up calling her. I said um he probably won't pick up your brother and whatever cuz he got to go to work or whatever. So she came by. I don't know. She came by around like 8 something cuz she didn't want him to be late. We was waking him up and whatever he put clothes on. We talking, me and Shai talking or whatever. I walked them both to the door. >> Simon sitting on the edge of the couch. Um, Shai standing by the door. Open the door and I'm out. Sh went out first and then Shimon. After that, I remember opening the door again and I remember getting punched in the face. But like how my best friend was describing, she's saying because I had liquor in my system, I probably saw Simon and didn't realize. I don't know. I don't know. Cuz when I was explaining my story when I was in the hospital, I said my story don't make sense. Well, the one thing that didn't make sense to me is that from it's my understanding that all this happened in the living room, >> but there was no signs of struggle in the living room. There was no blood in the living room and that the blood and your teeth were found in the bedroom. >> No, my teeth were found in the living room on the floor. I found my teeth. He said that he's sorry that he put me in this situation and I said, "Okay." Uh, >> what did he mean by that? He's sorry put you in this situation. >> I guess everything that's happening like I don't I don't know. I told him I'm be living with my mom. I don't know where he's going to go. I honestly I don't know. After my mom cut the lease, I don't know. So, >> the lease and your mom's room. >> Me and my mom are here. >> Your signature are here. >> Right. There she is. There they are. And now match. I didn't even notice that. >> Simon was later arrested and charged for aggravated battery and cruelty linked with previous incidents as well. Next up, officers rush to help a 17-year-old girl who made a desperate call for help, reporting that her own mother had become violent and out of control. >> And then she grabs me by the hair of my head. And she just starts swinging me by the hair of my head. And then she says I hit her first, but I didn't. >> We're losing everything cuz we got to go to I got to go to jail because you're dumb [ __ ] disrespectful sister. >> Goddamn ignorant [ __ ] >> Well, I want to press charges, too. On January 29th, 2024, officers arrived at a residence in response to a report of a mother assaulting her teenage daughter while the family was being evicted. As they gathered statements, the atmosphere became tense. >> What the we getting evicted, right? >> Uh-huh. >> So, I was She woke me up to go um said that we had to be out soon, okay, >> to start packing. So, I start getting my stuff and she's in there calling me lazy, you know, going off or whatever. I'm like, you're the reason why we're getting evicted. This is all your fault. Why are you >> all right? So then she starts getting in my face, like real in my face. And then she's like pushing up on me. So I push her off of me and then she grabs me by the hair of my head and she just starts swinging me by the hair of my head and then she says I hit her first but I didn't. And me in the eye and she hit on the side of my face and then as you can tell by my hair, she was swinging me around by my hair and I'm 17 years old. I get like whoopins and stuff but that's not a whoopin. You full on put your hands on me. just a whole bunch more arguing and then what after I called she wanted to try to swing on me again and then my brother got in between us and then she tried to grab me by my hair again before y'all got here like >> she's ridiculous. >> Who else is in the house? >> Just my brother and someone helping us now. >> How old is your brother? >> Um 16. >> Okay, do me a favor. Stay out here for me. Okay. She inside? >> No. >> When officers later confronted the mother, she claimed she was merely disciplining a child, but the evidence suggested otherwise. The stage was now set for investigators to uncover the disturbing truth behind this toxic family dynamic. >> Hello. >> Hi. >> How are you? >> I've been a lot better. >> I got you. What's going on? >> She's a disrespectful little mother. That's what's cuz somebody asked her to help. Think she can talk to some anybody some way. >> So that that's what's that's what's wrong. >> All right, let's start from the beginning. >> I woke her up cuz we got to be out of here by 1:00 today. >> Mhm. >> Go look at her bedroom. I woke her up to help. She don't want to help. So she wants to start screaming, cussing me, calling me name. So yeah, I got in her face. I sure did. I have a right to be in her face. She's a minor, >> right? >> So then she wants to push and swing on me. So yeah. >> Okay. >> 127 1081. >> No, I didn't. She ain't got no marks. She needs to be. >> Did she you? >> She tried to, but she wasn't able to. She She's not >> Where's she trying to hit you at? >> She's trying to be in my face. >> Okay. No marks on you or anything? >> No, she didn't me, but she tried. >> You got your ID on you? Uh, no I don't. It's in the car somewhere. I mean, my house is to store apart. I don't know where nothing is. >> What's your name and >> Natasha? Done. >> All right. So, you're saying there's no physical contact whatsoever? >> No. I mean, she tried, but she didn't actually hit me. >> You going on her? >> No, I should have though. I should have been taking her. >> Yeah. >> You can't even get through here right now. >> You know what the mark is on her left cheek? >> No, I I haven't hurt. I I'll tell you if I did. I mean, >> yeah. Just the problem is she's we're hearing something else and she's got a mark right here on her eye and then a mark on her cheek as well. >> Well, she deserves one. She deserves one, but no, I didn't care. I mean, no, I have >> I see your hand there. >> I mean, that's for moving that scratches for moving. I mean, it's >> Yeah, she don't want to help doit. I mean, >> and then you're saying you got in her face and >> Yeah. I mean, I'm yelling at her cuz she's cussing and carrying on. You know what I'm saying? Like this ain't just my you know what I'm saying? Like >> I mean it's ridiculous. I mean I've been over here slave driving for 3 days while she's laid in the bed doing nothing. >> Where does this situation turn? Y'all's in each other's face. Whatot and then >> she shoves me and tries to swing at me. >> So how does she try and shove you? Like >> she don't try. She does shove me. >> Okay. How does she do that? >> What do you mean? >> Like show like show me >> like she shoved me. >> So two hands. >> Yeah. Okay. So she swings at you. Then what happens? Then my son gets in between it. >> Yeah. I break him off. >> Okay. Was that successful? You able to break them apart? >> So it first happened and then y'all broke apart or whatever. >> They broke up. They started arguing again, but they didn't start fighting again. >> Okay. >> Moving out pretty quick, huh? >> Yeah. I mean, Georgia only gives you seven damn days. So >> what's the deal with the eviction if you don't mind me asking? >> I failed to pay. >> Oh, kind of like >> I mean I lost my job two months ago because of my youngest daughter >> Yeah. getting in juvenile and had it took took me a week to get her out. All that good. Oh my god, I don't have time for this. >> The mother went on a rant about her financial struggles, job loss, and the pressure of eviction, blaming her daughter for being lazy and adding to her stress. With a 16-year-old son and a helper witnessing the turmoil, her behavior grew increasingly volatile. Officers now face the difficult task of separating truth from blame while ensuring the children's safety. Okay. So, she came in there this morning like a couple different times telling me to get up and that we have to be out soon. >> And I was pretty much like, I'm just getting my room because it is all your fault. Every the whole reason why we're getting evicted. All the reasons are your fault. So, you figure it out. >> Well, I'm in there getting my stuff together and she comes in there to help me take my bed apart. I didn't need the help, but she came in there anyways. >> I don't know why. She already knew she was in a bad mood, so she should have just left me alone. So, um, she came in there and then while she's taking down the bed and stuff, she's complaining and, you know, she's calling me lazy and all types of other [ __ ] And I pretty much told her, I was like, "This is all your fault. Like, everything to do with this is your fault. Like, I don't know how I can explain this to you any other way. Like, you cannot complain. This is all your fault." And so she starts getting in my face and and like she's like chest bumping me like like not like pushing me like that but like pushing me with her chest and like up against the wall. And um I just kept on yelling at her, "Get out of my face. Get out of my face. Get out of my face." Over and over again. And she just wouldn't. She just kept on pushing me with her chest. So I pushed her off of me. And then um she just kept on going and kept on getting in my face and she grabbed me by my hair. And then that's when I guess she started like swinging me by my hair right here. and he already took a picture and stuff. Ed, my brother, he tried to separate it. >> And I had her byp she cuz like she can only hit me through this way and like this was my only open free hand cuz Ed had like this hand blocked and her hand on that side which would have been her left hand was blocked. cuz she had a right hand and she was had me by the hair of my head and started swinging and like me on the side of my face and the other dude came in there and broke it up and then she kept on going and kept on going and I was like I'm just going to call the cops and she was like call them call them. >> So did she? >> Yeah. >> All right, Natasha, here's the deal. Here we go jail day. >> That's great. >> She's got marks on her. Her scalp's red, so everything's just kind of cooperating from what she's saying. All right. Not saying I don't believe you, but >> well, she needs to go to jail. I mean, all this over her and because she's a lazy disrespect. That's what's wrong with these kids. They can just talk to adults any kind of way and nothing's done about it. How many times have they been called about them and they're disrespectful? Oh, we'll just make a juvenile report. We'll just make a juvenile report. Well, then when somebody does put their hands on them, they go to jail. It's ridiculous. Which I didn't put my hands on her, but I should have. Next time I will. Ed >> everything. We're losing everything cuz we got to go to I got to go to jail because you're dumb [ __ ] disrespectful sister. >> So that's good for my son and everything, right? That we losing all this. >> There's not much I can do right now. >> There's not much you can do about it right now because she's aing liar. >> Where's my mom at? Can I go talk to my mom real quick? >> I just got to put you in handcuffs. Okay. >> Here's my phone and my keys. Ed, >> here. Let me get those hand. >> No, no. just just get what she can get and everything else. This goddamn [ __ ] ass got me mad. So I got to jail because she's a disrespectful [ __ ] >> Even as she was placed in handcuffs, the mother kept berating her daughter, her anger boiling over. It was clear that years of verbal and physical torment had reached their breaking point under the stress of eviction and loss. >> She ain't getting nothing out of this house. We have to lose everything because of her, she can lose her, too. >> Probably 1095. No. I hope you're happy. Come get this stuff out of my pocket. >> I don't know. She ain't getting out of here. Should we lose all our stuff? She can lose hers, too. >> I'll make sure all your stuff gets I'll have Bobby come and help you. >> No, you don't. You got seven days. >> Stop arguing. >> That's how smart you are, smart one. >> Next time I'll be out of her. She's not getting her until ours is out. >> Just ignore her. Ignore. Ignore. It's easy to say ignore. >> You got anything else on? >> Do you let your kid talk to you like that? >> You got anything else on you? >> No, I don't. I don't stick. >> I hope not. Ignore her. >> Watch your hands here. >> Do you ignore your kid? >> Well, I know you're frustrated, but >> No. I mean, do you do you let her talk to you like that? >> Well, she's she's not old enough yet. >> Okay. Well, when she is >> Oh my god. Godamn ignorant [ __ ] >> Well, I want to press charges, too. I want to press charges >> on who? >> On Tyler. She shoved me. That's assault. >> That's assault. You can't put your hands on somebody else. >> Look into it. >> The way this way. >> Oh, so I just went in there and just started on her for noing reason. >> Hell, my son said what? We was tied up. So therefore, that means I was assaulted. Takes two to tango. Do you have any questions or anything? >> Do you have uh options for I mean y'all kind of go at it often, don't you? >> I mean, >> yeah, but it's never this bad normally. Like >> just been arguing and stuff or >> like she'll like make like a smart comment every now and then, but like I just moved in with her like 5 minutes ago. >> Yeah. >> Get that on your phone. >> Yeah, >> probably. I got it. But I just moved in with her about like six, five months ago and like everything's been fine. Um, other than like an adult >> Yeah. >> Everything's been fine. And then I guess today like I guess she's stressed out, but like so are we. That don't mean you come in my room and take it out on me. >> Yeah. >> Like I didn't do anything to her. Like yeah, I might have had an attitude when I said okay or something, but that doesn't mean you get up in my face and like beat the side in my face. And >> you're right. And then like you heard this she was saying after y'all arrested her like >> yeah for sure. >> Well I mean what I've got for now she's going to jail for battery family violence. >> I'm not sure if there'll be anything else on that. At least I know that for sure. >> Ultimately the mother was arrested for battery family violence and later charged with permitting or allowing use or nect. That woman was certainly unfit to be a parent and so are these next couple who let their three-year-old wander off unattended and then tried to brush off the whole incident. said uh he rode his bike up here, no shoes, had a coat on, and then they picked him up. >> To not account for your 3-year-old for 45 minutes, that is a big problem. >> The teacher who found him said he almost got hit by a car. Did you really ask seriously? We wouldn't be standing if your driveway if we weren't serious. >> On March 26th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a local school after staff discovered a 3-year-old boy wandering barefoot and alone, having crossed multiple busy streets. Police immediately spoke with the staff to gather details about how the child ended up there. >> Just information. The child's been picked up by the parents. >> Mr. Hodgej, >> could you come to the office, please? >> Yeah. He rode his bike up here. No shoes. He did have a coat on, though. >> Yeah. >> His name's Michael. >> Does he have siblings that go here? >> He's got two siblings, Marcus and Na. >> Hello. >> Hello. How are you? >> I'm all right. >> Thanks for coming. >> Deputy Myrael. >> What's that? >> I'm Deputy Myrael. >> Hi. Brian Hodge, superintendent. >> So, I don't know if I've met you. >> Nope. I'm kind of new. It was my first school school year. >> Awesome. Yeah. A good deal. Yep. >> How's she feel? You got all the details? >> Kind of. Said uh he rode his bike up here, no shoes, had a coat on, and then they picked him up >> not 5 minutes ago. >> Was it mom or dad that picked him up? >> Dad. >> Dad. Okay. >> Didn't seem didn't really to me didn't seem too concerned about anything. Um, >> he basically ignored you. I think >> details about the family's housing status and other children quickly raised red flags for disregard. When questioned, the father casually brushed off the incident. >> The house it it was like falling apart. I've cleared it a couple times cuz the doors and windows were all open at night >> here on the corner >> on it's on all the way down on the corner on the south or north side. >> Okay. >> Yeah. >> Interesting. I didn't think that house was livable. >> Come on in. >> Sorry. Christian teacher. She's >> Hello. >> Scoot behind you. >> Sorry. >> I'll scoot in front of you. I'm going to take you down to the >> You found the kid on the bike. >> Yes. Yeah. We're out on the playground and I see him riding up on this little bike, gets to the corner, and a car comes by. So, I'm thinking, well, that may be his parents. And then they just went on by him. And then he pulls up and come and I was started walking over there and he comes up towards the playground as I'm walking towards him and he's >> you said he stopped on the you're talking the corner of Jefferson and >> he stopped at this Yeah. Like at the southside and then he got to the sidewalk and then there's a little turn that the sidewalk comes towards the playground and that's where I got him. Then I asked him, "Where's mommy? She's sleeping." Okay. Well, where's daddy? He's sleeping. >> Okay. >> So, >> have you guys ever Has this ever happened before? Have you ever seen him before? >> Yeah, they just started here. Well, he didn't. His older siblings. >> Any concerns with the other kids? >> I don't know them. >> What's going on today, man? >> Oh, my little one decided to go to school. >> Okay. Where were you when he decided to go to school? >> In the house playing. >> Okay. >> He was playing with puppies. >> It just took off on you. >> Yeah. I got on his bike we just picked up last night and took off. >> Okay. Where's mom at? >> She's inside right now in the bathroom. >> How long was he out here unsupervised? >> Uh say about 5 minutes. We had the door open so we could see him, but he decided to >> How long was it before you noticed he was gone? >> Oh, I don't know. Let's see. Cuz we just bought this place and I'm trying to fix it up. >> I've been in here a couple times. Is the basement still flooded? >> No, I drained that. >> Okay, >> that was a pain in the >> Wasn't that long? Usually he's just laying around right there with puppies. >> How long is not that long? >> Uh, good about 10 minutes. >> Okay. Did you look anywhere for him before you found him at the school? >> Yeah, I was looking around block and everything. >> Okay. Cuz he's from what they said, he was down there 30, 45 minutes. That'd be about time of me walking around the block trying to find them. But I don't get service in the house, so they can't call me. >> Okay. I guess they said they called you and mom. >> Yeah, she got the voicemail. >> Do you generally let him just hang out unsupervised? >> No, usually you're just right there playing or he's in the house playing on his tablet or whatever. >> Okay. How long you guys lived here? >> Uh, we just moved in. Um, we finally got it finalized beginning of March. >> So, more more than a week. >> Yeah. >> Okay. He's not registered in school anywhere. >> No, he wants to go to school so bad, but it's unreal. He's got um he goes April for their screening. >> How old is he? >> Three, four, four. >> Okay. >> Both parents casual attitude deeply concerned the officers. As they pieced together the timeline, it became clear that this wasn't a simple mistake. The lack of supervision had placed the child in serious trouble. >> Is this mom? >> Yep. >> Hello. >> We're here asking about Michael. >> Yeah. >> So, you want to tell us an artist? >> You want to tell us your side of things? >> I was upstairs working on clothes. >> Okay. >> And he was just hanging out in the backyard unsupervised. >> Okay. Do you know how long he was at the school or how long he was missing from your yard? >> That long. I mean, he literally maybe about five, six minutes he disappeared and then the school called me. I get >> the school had him for 45 minutes. >> How do you >> Yeah. They said they were outside with him for about a half hour and then they called us and it took me 15 minutes before I got there and you guys were pulling out as I was pulling in. >> Say the school called me at 9:37. He went missing around. >> So they had him for from what they said they had him for a half hour before they called you cuz they they didn't know who he was until they brought him in and his brother walked by. Yeah, he was missing probably like around 9 9:15ish, 9:20ish. >> Okay, so timeline adds up. He was down there about 45 minutes. >> Yeah, >> you guys didn't even realize he was gone for 45 minutes. >> I was upstairs. We just moved here recently. >> We usually have chain locks on the doors in our old house cuz he likes to escape, but we let him play outside. Well, then someone should have been with him as a three-year-old. >> To not account for your three-year-old for 45 minutes, that is a big problem. >> The teacher who found him said he almost got hit by a car. >> Seriously? >> Yeah. He was riding down the road in a car. >> Did you really ask seriously? We wouldn't be standing in your driveway if we weren't serious. >> The officer stressed that their negligence could have ended in tragedy. The parents tried to deflect blame, citing moving stress and the child's tendency to wander. But the officers weren't buying their lame excuses. >> You don't have to apologize to us. It's him. >> I know his brother has OD anger issues and he might just run away. We must watch him. But we're we're at his doctors trying to figure out. >> Well, this isn't about brother. Brother wasn't here to coach him. He was in the backyard unsupervised and took off and you guys had no idea. >> Yes. So, going forward, when your child, your three-year-old is outside, are you going to leave him unsupervised while you guys are in the house? >> Do you guys have IDs on you so I can just make sure everything's I'm pretty sure they're already attached. >> Nothing. I'm going to grab my phone, make sure my statute's correct. All right. Can you get mom out here, too? Okay. Um, I'm giving you both tickets today for child endangerment. Okay. The fact that your child was if it was couple minutes, that's one thing. 45 minutes. And the fact that they said that uh he almost got you by a car. We're giving you a court date. Okay. So, it is a class A misdemeanor. You do have to appear in court. Your court date is going to be April 15th. That's going to be in Nashville at 10:30 a.m. Okay. So, here's your license. um writing one for both of you. You guys can take it up with the judge. Explain your side of things. Um I don't know what's going to happen from there. I'm going to tell you I do I am a mandatory reporter, so I will I have to report this to DCFS. So they'll probably contact you as well. Okay. >> Okay. >> You want to give that to her? I don't know what'll come from that, but I do have to tell them, you know, what was told to me and what I encountered. >> Okay. >> All right. Any questions for me? >> No. >> Okay. Please, if your child's outside, keep an eye on them. Yep. >> I would much rather come out here and write you a ticket. I don't like writing you guys tickets, but I would much rather that than come deal with a child that got hit by a car because their parents couldn't keep an eye on them. Okay. >> All right. If you guys got any questions, call the sheriff's office. The officers issued each of them a citation for child endangerment and explained that a mandatory report would be filed with the Department of Children and Family Services. Up next is a heartbreaking case where officers had to rush to a little girl's aid after getting a concerning call from her. lying. She says she wants me and Kira. >> She done breathing. She said she hates me. She doesn't love me. That she never wanted me in this world. >> I'm sorry. I don't beat my child. Can't >> go. >> How did I hurt my child? >> I only have socks. Oh my gosh. On October 27th, 2024, officers responded to a 911 call from a child alleging that her mother had harmed her. What followed was a series of shocking events that would leave anyone in complete disbelief. >> Hello. >> Hello. >> Oh my god. Hi. I'm right here. There is nothing. >> Can you come out here and talk to us real quick? >> Yes, there is. >> There's something wrong. She's having no YouTube. >> Come out here real quick. >> I haven't done any. >> Come here. >> Come outside and talk to me real quick. >> No. No. >> Hey, there's a child asking for help. I'm here to help this child. >> Yeah. >> Stay inside. >> No. >> Here. I will to speak with you. >> Speak with her. >> No. No. No. No. No. Please. Please. >> We're just trying to figure out what is going on. >> She has no socks. Ry. >> Okay. She's got shoes on. She's fine. You're fine. >> She's fine. >> Calm down. >> What you doing? >> Do you want to step right here for me to talk? >> The woman immediately began to act weird, leading the officers to believe something terrible was going on in that house. But when they finally talked to the little girl, she began to reveal some very troubling details. >> Haley, >> how old are you? >> Um, seven and a half years old. Seven and a half years old. >> I'm trying to ask you a question without >> No, I'm not. I'm not. I can't leave my babe. Do what? Like >> yesterday? Yesterday my mom holded my holded her hands over my mouth and her and I couldn't. She said, "You're done breathing." And she's also trying to She said she doesn't love me. She said she hates me. She said she wants to me. She said I'm a b word. >> Oh my goodness. >> And it's all true. >> Okay. Hey, >> just talk to me. Okay. >> Oh my god. >> Has anything happened? Has anything happened to Nut? >> Uhhuh. >> What happened to Nut? >> She said she doesn't love me. She hates me. >> Realizing that the mother could influence the little girl's confidence in reporting the mistreatment, the cops decided to separate the girl from the mother. But that was when the story got even crazier. >> Dylan, you want to take her to the to the unit so you can talk to her? >> No, please. Please. >> Yes, he is taking her over there just to talk to her. Okay. To talk to her. Okay. >> Hey, my name's Dylan. Okay. >> That's what I'm talking. >> Dylan. Yeah. What? Please don't take my baby. >> He is just going to talk to her. >> Okay. >> Don't take my baby. >> We're not taking her anywhere. He is just coming to talk to her. That's why I wanted to step inside to be able to speak with you. Can you tell me what's going on? >> No. Please don't tell me. >> He is not taking her. He is going to talk to her. It is cold. So, she's going to be right there. >> I know. I want her. >> So, what is happening? What What is happening now? >> She's a She just wants you. She wants YouTube. Okay. Has who called 911? >> So you didn't call 911? Okay. So she did. She's four. Is she the only child that you have? >> She's seven. Yes, sir. >> Okay. She's seven. >> Oh my god. You're taking my baby. >> We are not taking her. >> You just took >> She's sitting right there. Look, she's literally sitting. >> It's my baby. >> Okay. Like I said, we're here asking you questions. >> I'll let you in. Did I leave? It's my baby. I just said officer Nash. >> You just what? Here, take a Have a seat. Just calm down. >> Officer Nash. >> Okay. >> Officer and everything. I just said the police here. I'm not a bad mom. >> Okay. What were they here for? >> I don't am I don't I SWEAR I WORKED AT THE ANIMAL SHELTER. She was going to be >> Okay, I'm Can I put her in her room? The woman tried to play the victim game with the officers, but they were smarter than that. And it wasn't long before the whole situation took a crazy turn. >> Now that mom's not around, what? You can open up to me. Okay. >> So, my mom I I don't say anything, but my mom randomly says you're um would I be get in trouble if I say what she says to me? >> Nope. You be honest with me. You're not ever going to get in trouble with me. I don't want to be I don't want to say it, but she says I'm a um I'm >> You can say whatever. You're not going to get in trouble with me. >> I'm going to push her. >> It's okay. >> She says I'm okay. >> And I'm a liar. I'm not lying. She says she wants me and Kira. >> She said she wants her. And she said you're done. She said she hates me, she doesn't love me, that she never wanted me in this world. >> You would think that was the worst this crazy woman had put her daughter through, but it got even more bizarre. >> Have you ever heard the b- word from anybody else? >> Um, >> or just your mom? >> Only my two moms cuz my dad died when I was 2 years old. >> You said another officer was here. When were they here? >> Yes, sure they >> Okay. What were they What were they here for? Can you please like a little bit? I know I'm short. My big girl. I >> They were here for a who? >> I I'm trying to wonder. I just got stitches. So, I'm really really hurt. And >> what? How did you get What did you do? >> I work at County Shop. >> Okay. Okay. >> We got lots of big dogs. >> Okay. It's a piece. I don't know what else to say. >> Do you have your driver's license or ID? Some kind of ID? >> I can give you all and yet I have inside. >> Okay. Can you step in and grab it for me? >> Yep. I bought my child. >> Your child is fine. We're not leaving with your child. >> Okay. Well, you can believe or not believe. >> Can I just sit seven? >> Do what? >> I'm freaking out. The woman continued to evade questions and act suspicious even though she knew she had completely run out of luck. >> Freaking out. >> Hang on right there. Okay. >> She appears to be on the damp. >> I'm just here. Shush. >> Can I shut that You can shut the door. >> My purse is broke. >> Okay. >> Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. >> Your door's open, ma'am. Bella, I'm freaking out right now. She won't. >> Does your door knock? >> No. Oh, please don't. Don't. Please. >> I have not. >> I'll get her. Please don't shoot. >> Okay, I'll step back over here so you can get her second. >> No. I got it. I got it, sir. I'm so sorry. >> Okay. Where's your driver's license? You're freaking me out. I I'm having a heart attack, I think. I'm sorry. I don't need my child. Can >> just hang out right here. She's not going anywhere. I'll be right back with you. Okay. >> No, you can stay right there. She's fine. >> I'm good. >> I love you. >> I love you, too. >> I love you, too. >> Staying warm in here. >> What the girl revealed next gave the officers an insight into what sort of woman her mother was. my dad at 2 years old. >> Um I do have a really special picture of um in my room and I really really want it cuz I don't know what cuz I cuz it makes me feel emotional like feel calm. >> It does. What's it a picture of? >> It's of my brother, my dad. >> She stated no. Here's the uh mother's ID. mother and bad. No problem. >> And also show me and my mom's belly. But um a long long time ago before I was born, she had guns. >> M >> and she does do and she does smoke green eagles. >> Oh, >> CPS already came twice. like once at the school, once here, and I'm just really scared. >> We're here now. Fireworks. It's pretty fun. >> I just hang out the door like this and put on to this one like >> Yep. >> I didn't have any dinner. I did have breakfast and lunch at school, but no dinner. >> Wait, do you have anything in here that I could at least have a snack on? Cuz cuz I >> We'll make sure. >> We will make sure you have something to eat, baby. I promise. cuz I feel really sick and I think it's because um I haven't ate. >> At this point, the cops had already heard and seen enough to take the woman into custody. However, she continued with the drama. >> He's going with y'all. >> Yes. >> Why? >> Go ahead and stand up for me. >> Whoa. >> Stand up. Because Stand up. I'm I'm telling you to stand up. >> Yes, sir. While speaking with the husband, tensions suddenly spiked as the agitated mother stormed in, clutching her child and escalating the chaos. >> What's going on today, man? domestic dispute between me and my other half. >> All right. In what way? >> She wants me out of the house because my kids were helping me do dishes. I mean, it's just a mess of crap. I mean, my wife says it went out of date and she's mad that I can't get that anymore. And I offered to pay for her own, you know, and she's mad that I won't do it. And this is what kind of started the whole thing. But anyway, it doing dishes and she left this morning. I went to kids went and got feed the feed store. I left the whole morning and I came back and she's in her on bed with her phone doing whatever and uh had kids doing dishes while I'm making them grilled cheese sandwiches and uh you know she got mad and yelled and told him to leave and then I told her I needed the dishes >> macaroni and cheese next so I can feed them later that and then from there I get kicked out and we're having a argument. >> Stay over here for me please. >> Ma'am, are you the other half of this? >> Yes. >> All right, if you would stay up there I don't need y'all around each other right now. >> Off. You will [ __ ] get charred. >> You need to relax. >> No. >> As officers tried to separate the pair for questioning. The mother grew hostile, shouting over them, refusing to comply and insisting they had no authority to intervene. Her aggression only worsened as she clutched her child, forcing officers to make a difficult call to ensure everyone's safety. Stand over here and talk with me. >> What is your problem? This is not going to work. >> I know my rights. >> So do I, ma'am. >> Stay away from me. >> I'm out here for a reason. >> AND I DID NOT CALL. I want to stand on my own. Go ahead. >> While officers managed to maintain control, the scene descended into chaos marked by defiance and emotional outbursts. After the mother was removed, the children revealed how small household disagreements often spiraled into explosive confrontations. >> You get a power trip out of this beating up a little. >> They want to be out here. >> You got a power trip about this [ __ ] turn you on. Beating me up. >> You'reing disgusting. >> Okay, >> pervert. I hope you enjoy beating up little women. I hope I don't be out here. I didn't want to deal with you at all. >> You're disgusting. You infringed on my personal rights trying to go inside my house. >> I have a reason to be here. >> You had no reason to detain me. >> I gave you a lawful. >> You had no reason to detain me. >> Yes, ma'am. I did. >> What? >> I'm here for a cause. >> That's not a reason to detain me. >> Yes, it is. >> I did not commit a crime. >> A domestic dispute is not a crime. >> So that's why I know that you're in trouble. >> Resisting with battery on Leo. >> No. >> Yes. I came out to bring my husband his bag of clothes so he could leave. He grabbed my arm and told me to stop. I told him I came back into my house to grab my phone so I could record this. He followed me into my house. Came into my house, shoved me and my child into the door while threatening to tase us. That is against my right. I was not being detained for a crime. A domestic dispute is not a crime. I want his badge number. I want his name. You'll get it. >> Sit up. >> I have handcuffs. All right. Sit up. Everything's videoed and recorded. >> My glasses are on the porch. You knocked them off. It's >> fine. We'll stay up there. Get it in. >> What's up, guys? What's been going on? >> My mom was out at my dad. >> What were they arguing about? Nothing. >> Um, me and them were putting the dishes away and my mom's going to hear me. >> No, cuz you're putting dishes up or doing it the way she want. Turn that down for me, would you? >> They started arguing about you guys. Something simple. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> My mom was we were putting dishes away and she was in her room. >> Oh, she heard the noises. >> Is she on something today, man? >> I have no idea. I've been gone all morning because we got into it this morning. So, I left with the kids cuz she wanted she was not she was just like you seen her. So, I left and I took the kids to go get feed. And um this is the stuff we're donating. >> Does she take medication? >> Uh she has been to Meridian before and she does go see the doctor, but I'm not in the loop on what she does. >> But you guys are okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> On and off it's, you know, bright and sunny, bright and sunny, bright and sunny. Then there's a bad day and then I just try to, you know, leave, take the kids and leave and and do what I can. She flipped out for sure. >> There's a firearm in the house, so you know it's in the closet in a bag hanging up. >> Thank you for telling me so. >> With chaotic accounts from both the parents and children, officers meticulously documented evidence for court proceedings and child welfare intervention. >> I'm the father of the children. Um, two of them have my last name, one of them doesn't. >> Okay. >> One of them has her last name. My oldest has her last name. The two youngest have my last name. I've been here before a couple times about custody >> and things and everything else. >> I know. I've seen you. >> Yeah. Yeah, we've been here. >> Is she Has she been violent in the past? >> Yes. >> Yes, she can be. >> She can be. I mean, it's >> Well, I saw that today. >> One thing I want you to do for me uh is you're stay right here with the your children. >> I live here. Yeah, I'm staying. I mean, all my stuff. >> Get rid of the dope stuff. I don't know whose it is. The >> Well, it was mine. And I had a pot license and all that stuff, but >> I'm not I'm not just so the kids were looking at picking up all that. >> Right. >> All right. Appreciate it. >> I said just two seconds. I'm grabbing the last few dishes and she pushing me out of the room and um then it just manifested into the kitchen that I don't do anything that she asks me to do. And at that point um she started getting physical a little bit and I got on the phone and called you guys told you I need a deputy out here. And then I got pushed out the door. And um >> so there was physical earlier and this time here >> earlier as earlier today no just this last time here. >> Okay. >> Earlier. >> So when you call the sheriff's office >> when I called the sheriff's department had started to get visible. So then I call >> What did she do? >> Just pushing. >> Okay. >> Can you throw out a sworn statement based on what you're telling me? >> Sure. >> Okay. How did she push? >> Just pushing and pushing. >> And um she continued pushing you out. >> Yeah. Until I got the door. I held on to the door for a second and then spun around her so I could grab my cell phone so I could finish going out cuz that's what I wanted to get my phone so I could exit and leave. And then once I had got the phone kind of stood between me and the door and then she didn't let me know. >> The woman was charged with simple battery against a specified person and resisting law enforcement. Up next is another example of why some people are unfit to be parents as officers had to rush to rescue a 12-year-old from his terrible stepfather. >> Go inside. I got a call about our domestic >> and then he got too close to me and started pushing me against the wall. So I got mad and I tackled him onto the couch. >> We have two different incidents where he's the aggressor and you weren't present for the start of either of >> I have nothing to say. >> You're under arrest for obstruction. >> No, I'm not. >> On July 20th, 2024, a 12-year-old boy called 911 after his drunk stepfather, later identified as Patrick, confronted him. But when officers arrived, his mother refused to open the door, choosing to protect her abusive husband instead of standing by her own child. >> I'm not asking to come in. We got a >> No, that's not how this is going to work. >> Oh, you want to see how it works? >> Yeah, go ahead. We got a call about domestic about >> don't domestic here. >> Well, the thing is we have to check it out. >> I don't care. >> Okay. Well, I'll talk to Patrick then. >> Go inside. I got to call about domestic. >> You can stand out there all you want. >> Well, I'm waiting for my partner and then we're coming inside. >> No answer. Oh no, she already came out and screamed at me and said we better get a warrant. I was just waiting for somebody cuz she's going to be Sam's drunk, Patrick's drunk, and we're not coming in the house. So I was waiting for >> 911 females refusing to answer the door. Do you still have a 12-year-old on the phone? >> She's locked us out and I'm not going to pick the fight with her. So >> does the 12-year-old feel safe enough to come out to us? Otherwise, we're going to have to force entry. >> Open the door. We'll break it down. YOU GOT A WARRANT. >> We have to check the wellbeing of a 12-year-old. >> My door down and I yelling on >> the 12-year-old needs to come talk to me or we will break it down. >> You ain't got a warrant. >> So, they're not going to let him come down. They can hear her screaming on the phone. >> 91 advise you if I need to force a 12-year-old. >> Oh, we got him. He's out the bed. >> Oh, yeah. Uh, so Patrick is stupid and drunk every night and he tries to pick somebody at the front door. >> He tries to pick fight. That's him. They He tries to pick >> Get your house. >> Nope. Get away. >> YOU CAN SHUT THE UP. THIS IS MY HOUSE. >> HEY, >> shut up, Baldi. >> No. Hey, >> I don't have any. >> These two started it with my husband. >> Okay, that's fine. >> I'll talk both of them. >> I'll talk to you, too. Outside, the young boy confided to police about what had transpired, but his mother couldn't hold back. Her loud defense of Patrick quickly shifted attention to her, setting the stage for trouble she hadn't anticipated. >> So, what what's going on? >> So, he gets drunk and >> walk a little further with me. >> He uh gets drunk and stupid and tries to >> argue with everyone. And he was arguing with my mom. I don't know why, but uh she went with uh >> Your mom, right? >> So, she went somewhere she went somewhere to do laundry, I think. And uh so he uh he gets he gets real stupid at night. >> Hold on just a second. Okay. >> Stop. >> Stop. I WANT AWAY FROM STOP. PULL AWAY FROM ME. >> First you're going in the coast right now. You understand? They're going >> calm down. Take a breath. Calm down. >> Shut up. >> You going to be calm? You going to be calm? >> All right. Stay calm. >> We'll be calm as calm as you are. Stay seated. Just stay seated. Just stay there. >> They started with him. >> I'm not doubting that. >> Can I stand up? >> I'd rather you stay seated. >> Come sit in your chair. Okay. >> Okay. >> Sit in your chair. >> Continue what you were. >> Okay. So, my mom was walking out the door with laundry and my baby brother. >> And then once she got outside, uh me and Kaden, my uncle, we're trying to like hold him back from the door. So, he went like cuz he gets real close and personal. And so, >> Patrick. >> Mhm. So, we got him away and we wait by uh his gym door so he doesn't do anything stupid because he will just randomly start yelling at people and then he got too close to me and started pushing me against the wall. So, I got mad and I tackled him onto the couch and he wouldn't let me get up so he grabbed my hair and try to pull me. So, I started a lot and uh he got like right there and then he let go. So, I backed away and then uh he did it again. So, I I had a cup of tea in my hand. assigned him to his head and he brought me down to the couch again and I uh put my hand on his neck and to push up to get away and I did and then the third time well the second time my grandma was in the bathroom the entire time and she thought that I attacked him first when I didn't uh he saw Kane saw everything and then the third time he attacked me we both gone to the floor and everyone saw it but she also thinks I tagged him first and then I started punching at him again until he let go and then I called you. When the boy's mother finally gave her side, she insisted she hadn't seen how it began. But her story felt less like the truth and more like a defense. >> We got to get this resolved and you guys going about it all wrong. Okay. >> I was in the bathroom. All I heard was the boys attacking him and I came out. I pulled both the boys off. That's all I know. >> Teenage boys, >> him and Kagan. >> So, you don't know what started it? >> I really don't. >> You came out and they were all >> I was in the bathroom. >> All three of them were in a fight. >> I was in the bathroom going pee. >> That was Patrick and the two boys. >> That's all I know. I heard it. I heard it in the living room and I came out of the bathroom and both boys were on top of him. >> So you don't know what started started it though? >> I really don't. >> Has there been anything going on prior to you going to the bathroom? Any argument? Anything like that? Any screaming? >> Patrick were sitting on the couch. >> Okay. >> Watching TV. >> I don't know. >> I have nothing to say because the whole >> You know, this ain't the right way to handle things. Why does it got to escalate to this? >> Because he's not at fault. We don't know that or not. He's being >> But you guys automatically arrested him >> because the way you guys didn't answer the door and kept the kid in there. >> I didn't keep them in there. The boys were in the bedroom. >> And Sam, we know how you guys get when you guys get drinking. >> Okay. So, it's just for everybody's safety that we just detain them until we figure out what's going on. So, what happened to you? You got some bruises on you and some scrapes. >> Where? >> Well, you got scrape down here under your arm. >> Oh, that's from my dogs. >> So, you didn't get in the middle of that? >> I pulled the boys off of him. But no, those are from my dogs. >> Further reports from the boy and his brother revealed this wasn't some one-time fight. It was a pattern, one they were finally too tired and too scared to keep quiet about. >> So, this all started just cuz he was drinking and then he was Okay. >> Uh he's attacked my mom uh a few times uh in the past. So, >> okay. >> Okay. Do you have another family member you guys can go with tonight? >> Uh no. My mom hasn't done anything. It's just him. Every night he gets drunken and just starts >> Your mom hasn't been drinking today. Yeah, but she doesn't get drunk though. >> Okay. >> Not like he does. >> Okay. >> Cuz he argues with people over stupid stuff, >> right? Okay. So, whenever was your mom around either of the times that >> Well, she was around. She was in the kitchen making supper the first time and then she came in and split us up. The second time she was in the bathroom and then she came out and split us up again. >> But she wasn't around when it started. Just for the end of it. >> No, not not the end of it. Well, yeah. >> She was around the end of it, not the start of it, but both times. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> So, she hasn't done anything wrong. It's just Patrick. >> Okay. >> And you feel safe with her taking care of you? >> Yeah. >> Though both boys gave matching accounts, their mother refused to back down. She hadn't even seen how it began. Yet, every word she spoke was a shield for her husband. Soon, her actions turned the attention on her, and she became the one who needed defending. >> Sam, you can't interfere with me when I'm doing my job. You're lucky you're not going to jail right now. If you had taken one more step, you'd be going to jail right now. I have a job to do. We get called from 911 that a 12-year-old is here and has been battered. We have to investigate that. >> He didn't do anything, though. >> Both. We have two different incidents where he's the aggressor. And you weren't present for the start of either of those incidents from the witness statements. He's going to be charged with two counts of domestic battery. >> He didn't do anything. >> I have witness statements, too. >> I told the boys off of >> after the fact. You were not present for the start of either of the incidents. That's >> what you told me. You were in the bathroom. You were not present. You were not present for the start of I understand that you weren't present when the incident start either the incident started from both witness statements and your own statements. So you don't know what started it. You can't say what started it. >> He started it he started it according to both >> no juvenile. I did not. He was sitting on the couch. >> I'm not going to argue with you. You weren't present when it started. So you don't know the answer to that question. >> I'm not going to argue with you either. >> Perfect. It's just okay. He's going to be charged with two counts of domestic battery. Carly's been advised the situation. They both advise they're they feel safe staying with you. So we're we're 108. We're leaving. Do you have any questions? >> I'm dropping charges, right? >> You you can't. The state the boys will >> the state will pursue domestic batteries. Yes, they can. The domestic battery situation. >> It's not worth arguing. >> I'm just saying last time he >> You can go Monday and talk to the state's attorney and see what they can do for you. Okay. >> Last time he was arrested uh and he dropped the charges. >> Okay. And you that's something you guys can work out Monday or Tuesday when you go up to the courthouse. Okay. All right. Take care. >> Actually, we're going to arrest her for obstruction. We're arresting her for obstruction. When told she was under arrest, the mother fought with more energy than she had ever shown in protecting her own children. Failing to protect her husband should have been the warning that no one escapes the cuffs once guilt is clear. >> Under arrest for obstruction. >> No, I'm not. >> Sam, don't do it. >> Now we're going to be resisting, too. >> I didn't do anything. >> Don't add resistance. >> God damn. I didn't do anything. >> Don't add resistance. Sam, >> don't do anything. >> Stand up. >> I didn't do anything. I was just telling you >> hooked on mine here. Hold on. Your hooked on mine. >> I didn't do anything. Boy, tell him I didn't do anything. >> Quit pulling. Quit pulling. We'll get you. >> You got your >> I didn't do anything. I wouldn't obstruct him. I sit in the chair. >> You tried to run inside. That's not good. >> Sam, stop. >> You obstructed earlier. >> Just get your citation. Go. >> Now you're resisting. >> Can I get a citation and go back inside? >> You're getting resisting also. Obstruction and resisting. >> Quit resisting and see what we can get done. >> You're making this You're making this more difficult than it needs to be. Sam, just stop doing this today. >> Stop. You're not thinking logically, >> Mike. Please call Carly. >> Just stop. >> Tell her she got to come get the child. >> Who do you want to care for your child? >> Would you guys please? I'm not doing anything. >> Who want to care for your child? >> Why am I obstructing? >> You obstructed whenever I was detaining Patrick earlier. >> That was earlier. I was telling you what was going on. The boys >> I told you to get back and you weren't listening. You >> I was sitting in the chair and then you resisted when they tried to get you away from me. That's >> No. And you're missed again. >> Mike, please. >> There's nothing I can do. Sam, you did this. >> I didn't do it. >> Please, guys. Please. Mike, please. I was sitting in the chair. >> Hey, go get your >> Stand up. >> Sam, stop. >> Stand up. >> Take up. You'll get a ticket. I'm scared. >> All right. Go up there. They'll process you and they'll bring you home. >> No, he's not. You're not. It's not a detainable offense. It's a safety act. You're going to be transported to jail. You're going to get your citations issued. You'll be processed and then you'll be released. Obstructing resist while you're acting like this. So, you're going to make it take longer. You are >> calm down. >> I am calm. I was sitting in the chair talking to you >> and then you tried to run away when you told you arrest. Under arrest. >> Why would I be under arrest? I didn't do anything. >> You You can't roll around the front yard with cops when they tell you to do something and fight them and not >> That was earlier and Mike and him came and talked to me. Just get in the car, go up here, get a process, and come home. >> It's going to be easier. Stand. >> I didn't do anything. >> Stand up and step your feet in first. It's going to be easier for you to get in. You're going to have a hard time getting in if you don't get one foot in first. >> Why would you guys do this? >> You did it. I instructed you several times to get back when I was detained. I was sitting in the chair. >> You came towards me, poked me with your finger, and interfered with my investigation, which is >> in the chair talking to Mike and that guy. >> Okay, we're going to shut get in. Get in. >> Can I get out tonight? You will be out tonight as long as you cooperate with jail staff. You'll be processed, issued some citations, and then released when the jail has time to process you. >> Okay. >> Patrick was charged with domestic battery and sentenced to one year of conditional discharge along with a fine, while the woman was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest and was sentenced to 12 months of conditional discharge and a fine. If you thought that case was disturbing, wait till you see the next one where police received a disturbing complaint from a 12-year-old concerning her aggressive father. cuz he either pers me or bothers me or yells at me for something. So, I kind of just stay in my room the entire time. I want to know how I can get him just to be out of here for good. >> You I've been sitting there with you the whole time. >> I'll push you in the ground. >> You're not That's not going to happen. >> You want to bet? >> On March 23rd, 2025, police officers received a 911 call from a frantic 12-year-old girl. The girl had reported that her father was out of control. By the time officers arrived at her home, they met the father, who was later identified as Brandon Chapensky, ready to fight anyone who dared to step closer. >> Hey, how you doing? What's going on tonight? >> My girl's husband. >> Okay. All right. What's What's he doing? >> I don't Do you know where he is? >> You might want back though because he's acting like a [ __ ] >> Okay. >> How you doing, man? >> What you want? >> Hey, come on.
