You're arrested right now, ma'am. Yes, but what I'm saying is arrested for what? Shoplifting. Shoplifting. Please sit down. And I'm going to sue Target. Oh, heck no. Uh-uh. No, no, no. I'm going to sue you all. While some people work hard to make an honest living, others choose shortcuts, believing theft is the way to get by. But what happens when reality hits and they realize they've been caught? What's the problem? You didn't pay. What do you mean I didn't pay? I'm not going in there. What the I didn't do anything wrong. I'm only 13 years old. You You can't do this without my parents permission. I'm only 13 years old. These were the moments when serial shoplifterss realized that their scheme had been exposed. Starting off with the case of a nurse who managed to shoplift from Target over 35 times until her 36th attempt, which turned out to be the one that forced her to retire from her twisted little hobby for good. Switching the barcodes of an item is a crime. I didn't switch no barcodes. Be on camera. And then I have the police to come and handcuff me at the register around everybody. Okay. Oh, heck no. Uh-uh. On August 9th, 2023, officers were dispatched to a Target store in response to an active shoplifting incident. One involving a woman that lost prevention and security knew all too well. Right now, so we're going to go straight to the office. That's going to explain a little better. Uh he's a known subject as valid. I think he said 100 I think is what he said to the case. For the case uh now I'm sure I don't think she's going to try to push out. I think it's um he knows more about it than I do. Yeah. Hey guys, how's it going? What's up? Got a lady. She ticket switches stuff. She's she ticket switches like um she ticket switches using stock barcodes usually a little bit. Um hopefully what was it based on? Like 2400. We have a name for her. I'm not sure if it's 100% accurate, but we have her as Thelma Grant. Thema Grant. Yes, that's a old lady. Yeah, she's an old lady. I don't feel bad for her, though. She's She knows what she's doing. Like, she's been doing this for a while. Like, just to give you some insight. $2,400 in the How many? Oh, 32 incences. Yeah. So, she's been doing this for a while. So, usually what she does is she grabs like little stock barcodes that are like a dollar, a little bit less, and she'll put that on whatever else she's buying, and then she'll actually go through the checkout line. Mhm. But she she'll scan the socks. Yeah, she scans the socks like 50 times. Yeah. So, while she's scanning, can you pull up like what all Okay. Yeah, we can. Impressively, the loss prevention worker had been tracking the woman's move from the very moment she walked in because he knew her game all too well. She had pulled this scam dozens of times before, swapping barcodes to score high ticket items like kitchen appliances for a few bucks. She's been here for like 30 minutes. I'm expecting her to head to the front seat. Is she a nurse? I have no idea. I know the last time she came in though, she was wearing scrubs. So, that's kind of how I picked up on her today. I was like, "Okay, same scrubs. I just need her to get out of the fitting room at this point." And like I showed them, I've got 30 plus incidents of her switching barcodes. So, I know you guys technically could pull her for defacing the merchandise, but we don't want to do that cuz it's just Target won't let us do that. Mhm. But my boss did give us permission. Like if she for some reason like maybe sees the cop car or something, she abandons it. We will we can pursue trespass. So we'll All right. So Oh yeah, she's taking we're good. So see that? Look at that's a big black bowl that she scanned. That's a small white little cup that she scanned. So we're good. Let's just wait till she passes off points and say it. Can you guys tell the difference? So you see that's a big black bowl and this is like a small white cup. Mhm. And then you should see her do it here again. And the little paper bowls. Yeah. So, she's still doing the cup. So, we're good. We just need her to leave now. Perfect. This is wonder. She dumped them. She left them like she left them where she dumped the other stuff. Hey, I'm sorry to bother. Um, so I have Thema right here at the POS. She used ticket switch. She switched barcodes. She scanned everything in, but her card might decline. It looks like she's struggling to render payment. If that's the case, the police are saying they have enough to like charge her with shoplifting because she switched the barcodes. But what should we do to proceed? We can Yeah, right. As long as the police want to um I'm willing to prosecute on that exit with it. Okay. Okay. All right. Thank you. All right. Bye. Hey, so she's still at the POS and she's been at the POS for 20 minutes now trying to render payment and offer. Remember the first time I got my baton? I went home and I played with it and I couldn't get it to close. So he said, "If you guys want to pull it, we pull it." Let's do it. All right. Thanks, Mark. All right. Bye. Coming up, officers exited the loss prevention room and approached the woman who was casually walking around, pretending she was about to pay for some of the items in her cart. I'll take your lead. Hey, ma'am. Drop your phone for me. Uhhuh. Drop your phone for me. Yes. You're under arrest right now. Okay. Place your hands. Place your hands behind your back. We'll tell you as soon as you're uncuffed. What? I did. We'll tell you as soon as you're cuffed. What did I do? What's Are you just Let me get some handcuffs on you and then um we'll bring you back and we'll explain everything. Yeah. Oh, sorry. What did I do, sir? Well, I'll let you know. Just let me get these cuffs on you real quick. Don't want to mess up your watch. Mhm. What in the world did I do? We'll explain. Just give us a second. Would you like me to grab your cell phone for you? Yes. What did I do, man? We'll explain it in the office. Okay. You going to move it over there? Did you want me to disconnect the call? Yes. How did I do? I'll take your purse, Miss I'll tell you. So, the loss prevention officer is going to explain everything to you. Yes. Um, we're just going to sit down, have a conversation, and he'll explain everything, right? Cuz I didn't do I mean, for y'all to come up and just handcuff me like that in front of everyone, and I didn't do anything. Explain everything back here. How you all going to handcuff me? Have a seat over here on the the bench for me? Yes. That's good. You can sit there or there either way. Yeah. I want to sit down. Have a seat. I don't want to sit down, sir, because this this hurt me my arms. So, switching switching the barcodes switching the barcodes of an item is a crime. I didn't switch no barcode. I have you on camera now. And we have What did you do, sir? You didn't see me switching nothing. I didn't switch no barcode anywhere. Yes, ma'am. Sir, show me, please. I have I have it right here. They They've seen it. They sir. No. Uh-uh. You You need to show me. Show me. What did I do? You don't need to show me. Okay. Show me what did I do. Can you switch the barcodes of the items that you rang? Sir, I promise you I didn't switch no barcode. We have it. Sir, I didn't switch no barcode. What's your name? I didn't switch no barcode. Once the woman, later identified as Thelma Grant, was cuffed and brought into the loss prevention office. She went straight into denial mode, pulling out her best act to claim she'd done nothing wrong. You got ID in here, man? No, my my um ID and everything is in the car. What's your name? And and then for you to go, you you're not supposed to just search my co my um items. Well, you're arrested right now, ma'am. So, yes, but what I'm saying is arrested for what? Shoplifting. Shoplifting. Please sit down. Sir, show me proof that I shoplifted anything. We just told you, sir. I didn't I No, I did not. No, I did not. Okay. Have a seat for me. That Oh, heck no. Uh-uh. Um, the only thing I did, I went and I bought what I had. I I was trying to get my money off the chime the whole time. What's your name? I'm not giving that information unless y'all tell me some stuff. We did. No, no, y'all did not. The first thing y'all did was handcuff me. You're under arrest for shopping. How you under arrest? First of all, sir, look here. First of all, I didn't leave out the store with anything. And I didn't change no I didn't change no prices on anything. The only thing I did was scan what I had. When you were scanning things, they were it was coming up as a white plastic cup. Listen, I scanned what I had. You're not going to sit up here and tell me that I shot this at anything. Okay. I scan the stuff that I had. That's something that if you wish to fight it in court, you can fight it in court. Oh, I'm definitely going to fight this in court. Okay. I'm definitely going to fight this in court. Now, what's your last name or something? Not until y'all give me some information because this is not fair. We observed you bringing up items on the camera and we I bring up everything. No, those are mine cuz my bag is in the car. Those are mine. Her selecting those on camera. Those are mine. I have you on camera. No, no, sir. First of all, you seen me get another size. That's what I did. And if you see me, if you seen what I put it back. Okay. I'll tell you what. We won't even prosecute for this then. We'll just prosecute because Yeah, because the only thing you had to do is look and see that I was getting another side. That's all. I understand. And they didn't have another side. Okay. Okay. But you still ticket switch merchandise today and that's what we're going to do. No. Uh-uh. Okay. And we have 30 minutes. And then And then you are not supposed to search my purse. This lady right here is supposed to search. No. The woman was clearly upset. But coming up, it became obvious that she wasn't embarrassed by what she'd done, just embarrassed that she got caught. Uhuh. Put my stuff back in my purse. Put everything back in my purse because I'm not Uhuh. I'm I'm very This is very Uhuh. Mm-m. Mm- Sir, you can put my Those are mine items. These? Yes, those are mine. You can put it right back in my purse. Those might be hers. Put them back in there. But so, we're not even going to prosecute on these. We're just going to prosecute prosecute. I didn't take anything, sir. Switch the barcode. Sir, I switched the barcode. First of all, I didn't switch any barcodes on anything. And I'm going to sue Target. Oh, heck no. Uh-uh. No. No. No. I'm going to I'm going to sue you all. I'm going to sue you all because this is not fair. This is not right. Nope. Okay. And then to have the police to come and handcuff me at the register around everybody. Okay. Oh, heck no. Uh-uh. All right. Didn't even Didn't even bring me back here. Didn't even bring me back here. You're going to come up there and handcuff me in front of everybody. Okay. Oh, I'm definitely going to get me a lawyer. I'm not talking to you because I didn't because you didn't do anything to me. Okay. You didn't or you stood back. He's the reason why we're here. Listen, it doesn't matter, brother. He's the reason. I'm talking about what you all did. Can they just bam me out the store? Well, doing that, too. I know that, but can he let me go? That's up to them, but I don't think they are, sir. That's That's all I'm asking. Sir, we can't. Please, sir. Please, cuz this is going to be on me and I'm going to lose my job. I work at the hospital and date surgery. Please. Please, sir. He's got to keep his job, too. I I understand that, but it's their judge. It's their call. Please, sir. I won't step back in here. No way around it. Please, sir. I'll lose my job if this is on it. Please. It took me so long to get this job. Please, sir. I'm just begging you. Please, just what? Just please. The woman's repeated pleas for immunity made it clear she wasn't just a seasoned shoplifter, but also a professional victim. But this time, she wouldn't be slipping away so easily like she had in so many of the previous incidents on her record. I just can Can I just pay for the stuff in you, sir? I can't. Unfortunately, we have 30 previous incidents of you doing this from and not in here. I do, sir. No, you Sir, I've never been Oh my god. You've never been to this store before? Is that what you're saying? I always shop in here. I live right down the street. Okay. Sir, you have never caught me in no shoplifting or anything like that in here. I Oh my god. I can't believe this. I No. No, you did not. Uh-uh. Sir, what how much is the items? Oh my. I didn't Sir, I didn't even leave out the door. Yes, ma'am. I didn't leave the I didn't leave out the door. I understand. I didn't leave out the door. I didn't pay for anything or anything. It's 5926. Is that a misdemeanor or felony? It's a misdemeanor. Sir, please. Please. I'm going to lose my job. Please, sir. It's not It's not my choice. Well, whose choice is it? It's Well, can you talk to Corporate, please? I You heard me call them earlier and they What did they say? To arrest her. Yes. I have never been in this store getting caught for no shoplifting or anything. Sir, please can you please just sir, can I can I can I beg I beg you please. I have nobody to get me out on bond. Not only that, not only having this charge on me, I can't go to work tomorrow or anything. Well, you didn't store I can see if if I was going out that door and y'all ran behind me and grabbed me or whatever, but you got me right at the register in front of everyone. You bum rushed me. You did this and that and you could have called me. We didn't treat you, sir. You did. Yes, you. We weren't rough with you, sir. Sir, yes. No, y'all was not. No, you was not. No, you was not. Because my my granddaughter was on my granddaughter was on video and the way that you all came up and grabbed me by my arm and jented up like that in front of everybody and handcuffed me, you could have walked me in the back. No, ma'am. While the woman kept complaining, the female officer wrote the arrest report and a trespassing notice. Yes, ma'am. They did. And I'll go ahead and show you everybody that needed to signed off on it. So, there's your name, your signature, the property manager name and signature, and that is my name and my signature. Okay, that's fine. All right. Sign it to Yes, ma'am. It is permanently. That's kind of harsh, isn't it? I didn't I didn't decide that, sir. They kind of harsh. What? Indeed. It's not my choice. It's what it's target procedure. You can see my person. Yes, ma'am. What's going on? So, this is a copy of the arrest report. Yes, sir. You're going to get a copy of this and then there's going to be a case report number on here that you can pull from our system. Yes, sir. Oh, thank you so much. You got it? Yeah. Let me uncip those for you real quick. These right here? Yeah. I'm going to just get them out your way. Okay. You look really nice with the purse. Do you want to help me with the seat belt? [Music] The woman was charged with theft, but only for the incident that took place that day, as her prior offenses either lacked sufficient evidence or were no longer legally actionable. On top of that, she was issued a permanent ban from all target locations. What happens when you take Thelma's level of stupidity and multiply it by three? Well, that's exactly what officers were up against in this next case where a group of women were caught red-handed after stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a TJ Maxx store. How you know? Step out of the car for me. Give me another unit here. I've got a bunch of stolen TJ Maxx stuff in the back. I didn't steal nothing. You're sitting on it all? No, I was not sitting on it. Sitting in the back. I swear for God that was not me, sir. I mean, you need better friends than I imagine, right? On May 7th, 2025, deputies responded to reports of shoplifting at a TJ Maxx store. According to Loss Prevention, two women had been seen stuffing multiple items into bags before walking out without paying. Fortunately, staff were able to provide a description of the getaway vehicle, allowing officers to quickly track it down and bring it to a stop. Cover. How you doing? Step out of the car for me. Any I believe it's going to be them. I got three females in the car. I think they're all involved. Three females. And I thought I don't think Where y'all coming from? Huh? What? What? No. Okay, quit. I said step out of the car, didn't I? All right, step out of the car. Hey, quit moving around back there. Give me another unit here. I've got a bunch of stolen TJ Maxx stuff in the back. This stuff you I don't care. Passenger, keep your hands on the dash for me. You keep your hands on that in front of you. Keep your hands up there in front of you. I said she ain't even going in the store. So, I don't care. I got the driver secure and the other two are compliant. Without moving your hands, where's your ID in the car? I don't have one. Huh? I don't have one. You don't have one? It's a rental car. It's showing. It's a rental car in your name. No, ma'am. Keep your hands on the deck. Put your hands up in front of you. I said I don't care who she's calling. You understand? Don't drop your hands. Can I see the car? Can I lean up a little bit? I'm not going anything. Yep. I just need to keep an eye on them from where you're at. When the officer made contact with the suspects, they pulled the classic move, pretending they had no idea what was going on and refusing to identify themselves. But the officer had already seen clear evidence in terms of the items laying in the back seat, and it didn't take long before backup arrived to help sort things out. Driver's black shirt and jeans. Front passenger a pink shirt and pink shorts. Back passenger is a pink tank top, like a pink sports bra kind of, and uh multicolored leggings. I wrote way. Huh? Oh, no. I said I wrote wait. I've got hands up on both of the passengers. I If you want to get one of them out, you can. I just didn't want to. I just got driver out. She's incuffed right now. So, whichever one you want and then the other one, keep your hands on the cuff her up. They match the description. So, keep your hands over here. Just put it right here and get the other one out and cuff her up cuz the other one keeps getting on the phone. Yeah. Hang that phone up. Well, we're about to find out. All right. You should check pockets or whatever when you walk. We'll just need to do a show up whenever they get over there. You have a valid license or no? No, sir. You on probation? No, sir. You on probation? Where do you live? Where do you live? Gainesville. Where do you live? I'm just I didn't want your hands to come out. You got You got small wrists. Good job. You got small wrists, so I just didn't want the cuffs to slip off. Any 60 a Fox ride unit on TJ Maxx. You can go to LA3. You can walk her back there, too. Hey, are you still looking for one there, or do you think she's in the car here? Come over here frombody. You didn't leave anyone back? No, I sle. The driver here is saying that uh they're all here in the car. They didn't leave anyone behind. Can you do a show up over here? I'm going to lie to you. And the pregnant girl never got out of her car. Not there's two inside the store. Me and that girl right now. You and the other one? Yes, sir. Okay. All right. All right. I'm going to use the back of my hand just to go over your pockets to make sure you got Is there any weed or anything in the car I need you know about? Yes, sir. Yeah. I mean, I can smell it. So, all right. Again, back of my hand. Okay. I'm not grabbing your butt. All right. Turn around and relax. Right here for me. Turn around. Relax. With the latest discovery that the suspects, especially the driver, had been smoking. It looked like another charge was starting to surface. While some officers checked whether they had a valid medical marijuana license, others continued asking a few more questions before finally placing them in the squad car. She's saying it was her and another one in the store and she said one in your car. There's two in my car. Which one? Which TJ Maxx is the stuff in the back from Dayton? Man, you already call out all three. I did not. Do you want to run them and ID them and we can go from there? And you're not on probation? I'm not on probation, but I am. You got open case right now. You got on bond driving for driving out of where? Put them. Well, you said you're palaca or you're from palaca. Whose name is the car in? My sister. I'm already outside. You're out here committing new crimes when you get sentenced. They ain't going to like that. Sentenced to what? 180 days just for driving. Are you habitual? All right. Here. Let's walk back here. Let's get you out of the rain and at least get you drive for now. You don't want to go in the back. All right. Can you just um do a full Yeah. Do a search of her, please. I already did the pockets with the back of my hand, but just do a search her and you put her in there for now. Just get her out of the ring. Here. Come real quick. Do you have anything illegal on you? Anything on you? Um I smell weed coming out of there. So, let's uh the driver said that there's weed in there, but let's make sure none of my medical marijuana card and then we can at least get that part out of the way. There's a whole bunch of TJ Maxx stuff in the back with tags all thrown on the floor. So, do you have a medical marijuana card on that vehicle? I don't know. You don't know? Marina, do you have a medical marijuana card? Expired. Okay. Once the suspects were secured in the squad car, officers began searching the vehicle and what they found looked like enough merchandise to stock a Sunday afternoon yard sale. Jokes aside, it quickly became clear this wasn't their first spree. The sheer volume of items suggested the suspects had likely pulled this off more than a few times before. This has still got a sticker on it. Um, you see all this clothes in the back? They all have TJ Maxx tag on them. Oh, there's Yeah, they stuffed all the tags started stuck in the stuffing the tags in the back pocket here. So, the back seat passenger sitting on all those. The pregnant one. I did ask her, but she's not been merandized yet. But the driver said that they were in the Daytona TJ Maxx before that one. But yeah, you can see there's just TJ Maxx stuff freaking everywhere. Yeah. All this stuff. All tags on it. No bags or no receipts, nothing. Oh, there's all the inventory control devices. Yeah. Watch out cuz they're pointy ends. Yeah. Here's drivers in. Do you see a purse or anything else on the front? Is anyone's name? Was there any IDs or anything? I mean, look at all those tags right in front of where the one in the back sitting. Yeah. That are all ripped off. So, the pregnant one was here sitting on all these clothes. And right in front of her is all the ripped off tags. Which one? Cuz you're saying they're both pregnant. The one the one with just the top. The one that's obvious. The one in just the sports bra looking thing. She was here with all the ripped off tags and everything is it's all up there in front of that. Did we pop the trunk yet? No, we haven't gotten the trunk yet. But they're saying that they were at Daytona TJ Maxx before this one. Where the pregnant one in the back was sitting is one of those metal tags. So like they were popping those off, too. So you're the only one that doesn't have a prior, but you two have lots lots of When the officer spoke with the suspect, who had stayed in the back seat and never entered the store, she tried to distance herself from the whole thing. It seemed like this trio's genius plan was, "Hey, if one of us is pregnant, it'll look less suspicious." But the officers weren't buying it, and the group was about to face the consequences of their sloppy little scheme. You're sitting on a bunch of stolen stuff in the car. I didn't steal nothing. You're sitting on it all? No, I was not sitting on it. I swear to God, I You were in the back seat, right? But that was not my stuff. But all this all this clothes right here, you were literally when you got out of the car, you it was behind you. You were sitting on I literally asked the lady that just took her. I told her when I was sleep I was laying down and I was not hiding them. I swear. So all of it was You were laying on top of all that. No, not like to hide it, but I was using cushion to like what? And the other thing is all the stolen all the tags that are all pulled off are all right in front of where you're sitting in the back. I swear for God that was not me, sir. I mean, you need better friends than I imagine, right? But they told you I was not I wasn't stealing. Like I wasn't stealing. Like that man can confirm. We go watch those. Yeah. You didn't You weren't in there. Correct. What happened? But you're on top of all the stolen property and stuff. No, that was not my stuff. It wasn't like that. That's what I'm trying to say. It was not like that. But you're going with them from store to store and they're stealing stuff. I was in the back seat. I was not stealing stuff. I know you're not getting out, but you're in the car with them, going store to store. I did not know, sir. I swear to God, I did not know. Okay. You got to check it up with the deputy that's investigating it. You need to ask him. Uh we'll talk to you when she gets back up here. Cuz I was not stealing. Like what? I did not do nothing. They could vouch for that. I did not steal. That's not none of my stuff. That's not mine. I don't steal. You seen my I don't steal. This not my cup of tea at all. Why don't you tell them to stop? Why are you with them? All she asked me to do was ride with her. I did not know. All she said was, "Please ride with me." I said, "I'm just going to me and her sister." Before she dropped her sister off, she said, "I need one of y'all to ride with me." I was gonna go in the house and she know in what city? Putnham County in Paga. I'm not even from here. Paga. Yeah, I'm from Gainesville. I was just with her cuz that's my child's godmother. All she said was, "I need somebody to ride with me." I said, "Okay, cool." Problem is is that they come out of here with all this stuff with no bags, no receipts. You're laying on top of all of it. I wasn't doing it like that to hide it. I was not doing that. That's No, but you're laying on top of all of it. It's all stolen stuff. Not my stolen [ __ ] No. Hell no. Not my stolen [ __ ] Sorry. Excuse my fridge, but not my You're the one. Yeah, I get it. No, no, not I get it. You're laying on top of it and then all the tags that are popped off are all in your seat right in front of where you're sitting. Yeah, no one else is in the back. It's just you. At this point, the driver had already been transported to jail, leaving behind the passenger princess and the pregnant accomplice who were about to get a clear explanation of what was coming next. So, the deputy that's investigating it is dropping the witness back off at the store and then they'll come up here and talk to you. But you're under arrest for sure. Are you out on bond right now? Cuz you got a bunch of theft history in tons of tons of different counties. So this is a felony for you. For both of them. For you and the girl driver. For real. She got felonies. Yeah. They've been arrested like she been arrested a bunch for stealing. Like 10 times probably. Only one I know is going though. She been arrested a bunch for stealing too. But you're in the car. You're involved in this. Oh yeah. You're in it whether you want to be or not. I don't think so. Toshi is done. I'm just waiting on them to I got all the stolen property inside the car. They still got to take back to TJ Maxx. Apparently it was stolen from a different TJ Maxx like in Daytona. All that, all that. That I tested the week for them. Like a bunch of hats from like Hobby Lobby. So, let me ask you before this cuz they're pulling all the Daytona store video. Were you in Daytona store? No, sir. TJ Maxx? No, sir. Hobby Lobby? No, sir. You sure? You never went in any store? No, sir. Was she in any of these stores? I guess so. No, cuz we're going to find out if you were all pictures of them. Really? Yeah. You need to get good pictures of her before you cut her loose. Yeah, just take the two and be done with it. Uh, yeah. The women were charged with possession of an anti-shoplifting device and grand theft, having two prior theft convictions already on their record. The total value of merchandise stolen from multiple TJ Maxx locations was estimated to be over $1,000, pushing the case well past the felony threshold. Next up is the case of two entitled teens who thought acting tough would somehow help them climb out of the mess they just dug themselves into. We can give you information we can go. No. Do you have ID on you? They said no. I don't have an idea. I'm a minor. What the are you going to do, dumbass? On May 21st, 2024, officers responded to a Walmart following reports of two teenagers caught shoplifting. However, the encounter turned out to be far from usual as the two teens were super entitled. We got your shoplifterss. Oh, I'm still How old are you? How old are you? Don't answer my questions. You're going to end up in handcuffs. You pick. Okay, I just go on. He's asking what? I'm asking you a question. How old are you? I said this was going to be quick. Okay. Well, you're making this not quick. That's the thing. Nobody told you. You didn't tell me anything. Well, they got it written down. Okay. I'm I'm asking you as a human, as a person to person, if you want to get an attitude, you're not going to win this. I promise you. You're on raising your voice because you refuse to answer any questions. So, if you want in cuffs, we can do that. We can make it super easy. Either way, I have paperwork to do. So, if you want to go home, you can tell me your name. If not, you can go to jail. I'm just waiting for my right to be honest. Okay, but you're not going anywhere right now. You're being detained. You're not free to go. How are we detained? Because they're accusing you of shoplifting. So, until we figure out what's going on, you are not free to go. Yeah, we figured that out. It doesn't matter. You still committed a crime. So, again, you're not free to go. So, do you have ID on you? ID. Okay. So, how old are you? If we give you everything, we can go. How old are you? We can give you information. We can go. No, she I get paid by the hour. I'm here till 3, so I don't really care. Don't be mad you got caught. Who was mad? No one's mad. I don't know. No one's mad. So, are you refusing to identify yourself? We only know if this is true or not. So, how old are you? I thought we were supposed to see a video. You're not supposed to say anything. Well, that's what they said. Oh, yeah. Now y'all don't know. Why are you trying to act all? We got the deputies here now. They're in charge. They're in charge now. This is their building. Can you do the video? You're not You don't have to see anything. With zero contribution to society and an attitude to match, the girl's arrogance tested everyone's patience. And unfortunately, their combative behavior and refusal to cooperate showed no signs of letting up anytime soon. So, do you have ID on you? Yes and no. I don't have an idea. Okay. How old are you? Get comfy. Cuz until we figure out who you are, you guys aren't going anywhere. Nice. Why are you making this harder than it has to be? Cuz this is so uh We're already about to catch the buzz. Okay. Well, now you're going to miss the bus. Sorry. Oh, definitely. We've been We're going to miss the buzz. Okay. Sorry. Don't Don't commit a crime. Too late. I know it's too late. I didn't. That's why I'm here. I didn't say too late. You just did. No, I said truly. Okay. So, how old are you? At this point, you just got to figure out where they are to figure out where they're going. Yes. Stay now. Huh? Stand for now. No, they're Yeah, they're not free to go. I've already pulled them out. Yeah. You stand up. Stand up. Stand up. Nope. Stand up. Take your bag off. Why? What you mean? We're passing. Stand up. Take your bag off. What do we do? Stand up. Take your bag off or I'm going to make you stand up. Both teens behavior hinted that the apple might not have fallen far from the tree. The officers did their best to stay composed, but with each passing moment, their patience was pushed closer to the edge. You could do the same. Okay, but can we look at that and see? No, you have no right to look at that. She's been telling us this whole time. Okay, we're past that point. You refused to come inside until I got here. You refused to give me the information that I need to complete my report. No, it's too late. Right now, you're going to stand up and you're going to we're going to put you in cuffs. We're going to do it this way. Play like this. We'll play like this. Hello. Hold up. You don't got to put your hands on me. Okay. Hey, why you hanging up? Put your hands behind your back. Tighten up. Tight up. I'll charge you with another charger. I'll push right into the bed. What are you charging me with? I'm a minor. Are you from my Oh, I'm a dumb. Sit down. Probably say dad and nephew. 251. Show us two females detained. Okay. So, now we're at this point. What's your name? So, is this necessary? No. Would you not answer my question for the past 10 minutes necessary? This could have been very simple. You could have given me your name if I could have grabbed the information. You guys could have been on your way. But instead, now both of you are on cuffs. With that said, the teens slowly began to realize that the way they'd handled the situation might not have been their brightest move. Coming up, one of the officers stepped outside to confirm their ages. What's the total? Um, there's more of that. Yeah, we got some more stuff. I told him to go check the cart in the toy. He kept ignoring me. Kind of like you've kept ignoring me. You're right. Why are you getting that? Why? What the is your problem? Ow. What the You don't Hey, give me your phone. Go ahead. All right. She's 18. Yeah. What about the other one? She might not have a name file. I can't find it at the moment, but I found the 18-year-old. I mean, cooperative or sorry, I was on a call. Nothing but Can you say that for me? They're just a pain for now. Okay. Coming over here against the wall. Do you have anything on you I need to know about? No. Anything that's going to stick me, stab me, anything like that? Turn off your wall. I fig I found her. It's definitely They're both definitely both them. Are they both over 18? Uh, yeah. She's just actually She's just about 19. 18. Yeah, you're good. All adults. Go ahead and have a seat. Exactly. What's up? What else is in there? Oh, no. There's that. Here's this. This was behind her. I was in her waistband. That's my wallet. See, like there's a coming up. A store employee walked in with the recovered stolen items, allowing officers to create an itemized receipt and get a clear overview of the theft scale. This would ultimately help determine the exact charges. Can you make sure that he's right there? Yeah, we'll get it to him. Oh, no, no, no. You don't know who it is. He's right there. Okay. When we walk out, you can tell me and then I'll come back. This is this. Can you place him in there? I will in a second. I'm wor in a second. I just get my everything. Just stand there. We'll take care. We'll talk to you in a second. Can you help them walk over here to the car to make sure that they got everything? Appreciate it. Both teens were charged with petit theft. Moving on to the case of a seasoned Target shoplifter who got caught right as she was about to stroll out of the store with a cart full of stolen items. Sure are sassy for a thief. I'm always sassy. I like consistency. Yeah. On June 14th, 2024, officers were dispatched to Target in response to a retail theft in progress. I've been watching my bag. I've been watching since you were here. You guys know it. I'm sorry about that. Let me move this. I've been watching since you've been here. I watch you put everything in all your bags. Okay. Put everything in these bags. Yes. Right. Yes. That you did not pay for. So, I need I paid for the everything. You did not pay for everything. We watched your whole transaction. I'm trying to make this easy for you. You just need to come back to the office. I'm going to write your name on a piece of paper. That's it. We already have your friends home. That come my friends in the car. I ain't filming with no friends. You came with two other ladies. I watched you the whole time. I know. Okay. That don't mean I came with them just because we all walked in together. So, what do you want to do? Cuz I I have help here. You have to come back to the office. I need to document all your information. Is that your friend? Oh, no. The cop. That was somebody. All right. We'll put it away. I'm taking my phone call. Okay. Well, do you want you just want to arrest her or do you want to go arrest for what? For retail staff. I'm not stealing anything. I bought these. Okay. Perfect. Okay. Perfect. Then where's your receipt at? My receipt's right here in my wallet. What are you talking about? From the very first moment officers made contact with the suspect, it was clear she had a habit of choosing the hard way. Even when the loss prevention worker calmly suggested they head inside to figure everything out, she stuck to her story that she hadn't done anything wrong. A story that was about to fall apart fast. All right. Right here. Sweet. Target. That's about the right time. So So the country time lemonade. Okay, cool. Then what is what is that? Oh is like a pair of panties out of like all that she has in here. What's all this? You didn't pay for any of this. The Pokemon. That's not here. Stars above. Oh, I was supposed to put that back. I didn't realize. Oh, you didn't realize it was in there. So, what else? Didn't you realize what was in here? Like the Nerf gun or whatever that is on the bottom. What do you guys bought that? You bought this? Yeah, it's right there on the Okay. I I don't know what it is. So, what that buy that? It was actually Is this your bag or is this That's That's my friend's bag. Your friend's bags in this car. What do you have or what you waiting for? Yeah. Her her friends don't have anything that we know. Okay. All right. Well, y'all can just take this whole card then cuz I'm taking things that I paid for. Okay. Sort yours and I'm taking back with mine. I I'm just saying this this right here in the country. That's And then you're going to go What are you doing there? So, you said one of us would go there to figure it out. I don't see the point. Hold on. Let me get your ID. I don't know who you are. I don't have my ID on. You don't have your ID on you? Do you have a credit card with your name on it? A debit card with your name on it? No, I don't. So, how'd you pay for this stuff? Yeah. get cash. It says right there on the thing. It does. This woman was a textbook example of a seasoned shoplifter, unable to provide ID and paying for just a few items to slip past the final point of sale, but the officers weren't buying it, and that would soon land her in some serious trouble. Snap. We can take a name. And I paid with cash. All right, cool. Well, we can take a name from you. Hold on, cuz you're not free to leave until I ID. So, just Okay. Alisa, I'll put your receipt back. A L I Z E. Hey, can you guys bring the And you have a middle name. What's your last? We'll do whatever you want. You need back to the office. We're going back to the office. We're going back to the office. Let's go. Back to the office. We're going back to the What's your birthday? I don't know what you think. 92. Yeah. 1992. So, I don't know where what you're used to, but right now you're being detained for each and if you cooperate with them, we'll give you a ticket operating. Well, then let's go back up to the office first. Let's go back up the office. Go upstairs. That's that's too bad, man. You're already if you don't want to, then I'll just put your handcuffs. I'll take you upstairs for yourself. I'm not making noise. Y'all got time. I paid for it right here in my bag. All right. Let the go. All right. Well, she doesn't want to go upstairs and play ball. So, he got my name and everything. Y'all can y'all go work your computers. Look what this Yeah. This is not You think this is a game? This ain't a game. I think I'm sorry. Like, do you want to go upstairs? It's your last opportunity. I'm obsessed with what y'all should do your documentation for a ticket documentation for what y'all can buy the ticket right now. What's your real name? That's my real name. Okay. How do you spell the last name? And your first name? Lisa. And what's your birth date? 1992. 92. I didn't get anything back on that. You have an ID or No, I don't. Do you have one out of a different state? Yes, I do. What state? From New Hampshire. Sir 393. Coming up, the officer gave the woman one last chance to walk upstairs and leave with just a citation and a stern warning. But of course, she completely blew it. Do you want to go upstairs with them and get a ticket or do you want to come with me? Do you want to go upstairs and get a ticket? Do you want to go upstairs and get a ticket? No. Okay, that's fine. Then here, turn around. You don't have to. I'm going to go upstairs. I am under arrest. Two are under arrest. It's too right. You think this is a game set. This is what happens when you play games. I was going to walk around. No, no, no, you weren't. Yes, I was. No, you weren't. I was definitely going to turn around. You did. You did it the first three times. I asked. I was trying to like I'm going to go short on this deadline. Thank you. Okay. What's What's not your stuff? It's a lot, man. I got to go through. It's not a lot. It's just that right there. This bag is ours. I think this is ours, too. This is the only bag she came in. So, I That's the only bag she came in with. Is there stuff in here that's yours, though? Shoes in there. That's my shoes that I've been adding. Okay. Yeah, those four. Yeah, those are one. Oh, those shoes. These shoes right here. These shoes. Let me see. Kick them off. Kick them off for a second. What do you mean? Kick them off. Kick them off. What do you mean? We're going to Someone just took it. I'm sorry. You're right. Dirty. No, you're fine. Stop. Stop. What do you mean? I'm trying to put my shoe back on. Stop. Stop. I was going to turn around. Nothing more with the car. No. If you want to document who's in there. Oh, yeah. Wait. What? For retail. If she didn't get in the car, how are we going to do that? We do. What? We can find out. Just ID everybody in the car so we know who they are. Can you identify the other occupants of that car? What plate comes back to that car that we ran? While officers in the parking lot worked on identifying the other people involved in the theft, the first responding officer couldn't help but share his thoughts about the woman here since the last what's her name. That's the last store. The last store. You just put yourself What store you was at? No, I'm talking about the store that I went to and bought this stuff. Where at? You don't I don't think uh Walmart Walmart don't sell Target stuff. You want So do you want Target? So do you want your other shoes back? I have my shoes back or what? You need my other shoes back. Those shoes I literally want you take them off. Try them on. Look in the mirror. These are your mirror. Why are you're already here, man? Like it's too late. Just Just give me my shoes. I've had these shoes. What are y'all talking about? You walk around with two pairs of shoes. No, I had these in my purse. Is your name? That sounds familiar, right? That sounds kind of like your name, huh? Boy. Yeah, boy. What the [ __ ] Boy. Miss Boy. No. The [ __ ] boy? That's your name. No. That's not. No. Whose car then? Triple check. We triple check. You can put my wallet back in my purse. Okay. Hey, my bad. I'm not going to take your money, bro. I'm just saying. You sure are sassy for a thief. I'm always consistency. The receipt. No, it's back in. I give it to you if it had four things on it. Okay. It had the two It had the two country time two times. So, one of these is ours. Can you um ask which auditing they stand? No, I've paid with that. I tell them to bring the camera down cuz we got to take pictures. So, what's going to happen? You're going to be trespassing this store for a year. You cannot come back. You're going to come back. You got to call them again. Okay. Cannot step foot in here. You can't piss in here or anything. She had a lot of stuff. At this point, the loss prevention team was finalizing an overview of the stolen items to determine the full scale of the theft, giving officers the green light to wrap things up and finally get the woman behind bars. Actually, I can get all our information from you later, right? Yeah. Yeah. Here's here's those shoes in a car. Yeah. You're coming to jail for what? For retail theft. I just said that I was going to turn around and No, I just said that you weren't going to turn around. Okay. Well, then No, wait. Stop. Stop. Okay. I'm trying to I'm trying to bring that to the person in the car. No, they don't give me. No, they can't. They need They need my things. No, they don't. Yes, they do. No, they don't. How come they don't? Because I don't know who they are. I know who they are. They're my No, no. You said that. No, you said that you didn't know them originally to me cuz you know, just cuz I came with them doesn't mean I know them. I didn't say I w I said I didn't walk in with them. Okay. Well, that means you know you didn't know them. So, your stuff's coming with me cuz I don't want anyone to take it from you. No, they're not going to take from me if you just give it to them. I'm giving you permission to give it to them. No, it's okay. I'm just No, I'm just saying like I really want things with them. That's okay. It's coming with me. Watch your head. It's safer this way. You'll that way you'll get it back when you go. No, I I just want it with them. Female come over here. You don't need a female. I just know. No, I'm like I'm just asking you. Can you get that to the station? That's all. Can wait either for the station or right here. I don't know. Could be safe. I ain't nothing in my head. Okay. Put my hat back on. Turn around. Wait. Turn around. Why? Cuz there I have on whole dress. All right. There's nothing. Can I put my hat back on? No, it's for me. It'll go in your bag. It'll go in your bag. Don't worry. Can a lady come and grab my bag? I'm just like, why not? No, because Okay, I'm sitting down now. But get in. I just No, cuz I want her to I just want her to grab my thing. It's all coming with me. Let's go. Let's go. I didn't do all this. I'm just This ain't ain't no Turn around. I tried to turn around and y'all just instantly handcuffed me. I'm just trying I'm just trying to get my pull in. We're going to pull you in the car if you don't pull Don't turn around. Y'all don't have to put me in a car. Get my things with her. Turn. Let's go. It's going to happen. Let's go. Let's go. Oh my gosh. I get my things. No. Here. Seat belt safety first. Why my things can't be with her? Because they're coming with you. So, nobody takes them. No, but I'm trying to get in contact with her so she knows. Too late. It's not too late. I've been trying to do That's what I was already doing. Too late again. That's what I was already doing when you tried to handcuff me and I was trying to turn around. The woman was charged with retail theft and obstructing identification. On top of that, officers discovered she had an active warrant for identity deception out of a neighboring county. The total value of the stolen merchandise was estimated at around $700. Next up is the case of a woman who got caught shoplifting and then tried to dodge the consequences by lying about her age, hoping it would somehow get her off the hook. On November 30th, 2023, officers were dispatched to a local Target regarding an ongoing shoplifting incident where a woman skipped scanning items at the selfch checkout. The woman left but was met by the cops right outside the store. Yeah. I mean, you have an issue with the scanning machine? No, I had I went to the regular register and she scanned me out with the regular register. Okay. I didn't have an issue. She fixed it for me. Who'd you come with? Why does that matter? Because there's two of you guys. That's why. Yeah, cuz she came and brought me the rest of the money. Yeah. So, who'd you come with? That way we can She brought me the rest of the money. Do you want to come talk to the lady that checked me out? No. I want you to answer my question. Let's go talk to the lady that checked me out, please. Cuz I didn't We'll get there. I just literally had to go to the second register and she helped me at the second register. Who did you come with? Like the person helped me at the regular register. We'll get there. Who would you come with? Why does that matter? because you need to answer my question where she's at. It's my friend. She has to go to her kids today. She It's her kids' birthday today. That's the reason why I came here. Do you want Can we come talk to the register? Cuz she's literally just helping me through the register. I don't see what the problem is. All right. So, from the moment the officers made contact with the woman, 20-year-old Danielle Sadilio, she insisted she had done nothing wrong and claimed she had even received help from an employee at the selfch checkckout. Soon the officers went inside to speak with the staff. Excuse me. Can you tell that you help me? Yeah. Everything was fine, right? Yeah, she paid. She paid for everything. Okay, we got to talk to somebody over here and then we'll get things sorted out. The employee who had helped her didn't notice anything suspicious about the woman. So, her natural reaction was to assume she hadn't done anything wrong. The officers then talked to the loss prevention worker who had caught her on the surveillance footage. Which one did she get? Um, pretty much fill up the vacuum, the Legos, um, this and this stuff in here. I have to go to two different registers. I know you did. I was watching you the whole time. It's okay. So then, what's the problem? You didn't pay. What do you mean I didn't pay? Yeah. So, gift pack is probably going to be these. Uh, the water at the bottom. And then Wondershop is going to be this bag. Yep. And the ones you didn't pay for is all these. This bath mat. Dude, I got the Legos at the first one. I got the Legos at the first register. Yes, I did. And she finished helping me scare me out. Where's the receipt for that? I don't know. It's probably there still if you go look. Well, you have receipt for this and I have the receipt for the Because I had to go to two different registers. All right. What else? We're going to go in here. All right. I'm not going in there. Yo, I have to step it. I'm not going in there. What the [ __ ] Dude? I didn't do anything wrong. What are you doing? Get your hands off of me. I didn't do anything. Get your hands off of me. Get your hands off of me. Get your hands off of me. Get them off of me. I didn't do anything. I paid for this stuff. Get them off of me. Get off of me. I'm Wow. I'm only 13 years old. You can't do this without my parents permission. I'm only 13 years old. You can't do this without my parents permission. I'm only 13 years old. I'm only a 13year-old. Dude, I'm literally only [ __ ] 13 years old, bro. You can't do this. Can I call my parents? You can in a second. Sit down. Cuz my parents won't not hear and you can't you can't do this to me. The woman was placed in handcuffs while screaming that she was a minor, hoping it would get her out of trouble. However, she would realize that there was no way out of this. Knock it off. Not if I'm only 13 years old. I'm underage. I'm underage. Is your ID in your purse? No, it's not. Where is it? I don't have it. So, you're not under. Can I just take the stuff I paid for it? Lean. No, no, we're beyond that. You're trying to be cool with you. We would have been doing that if you were cool. Be cool, Julie. What's this? The lady that just told you that she helped me scatter everything. She just told you that she helped you scan for things that you paid for. Yeah. What's the car she was with? Um, it's going to be this purple scion that's sitting right out here. So, if you go out, she literally has to go pick up her kids. Our drive up section is right here and it's just right across. She has to go pick them up. So, she's behind a silver Tacoma. She literally has to go pick up her kids that are like little kids. Can we get the estimate on paper? Where's that sign? It's It's closer to the 28. Coming up, one of the officers went outside to find the woman's mate, who turned out to be just as combative as her friend. Hello. Did you come with uh my friend? Friend? Yeah. Okay. All right. You're not in trouble, but obviously um she's in trouble. I mean, I guess she stopped like that, but um what is her name? Um I don't answer questions. I'm sorry. Okay. We need your identification cuz you actually went in there. Yeah. I don't know. Hey. And you guys both came together. Huh? I went to the store for my I'm not asking if you ran the store. I'm not asking if you guys both came together. So, there's my driver's license. Is it yes or no? I don't answer. There's fine. And that's fine. You can see on camera then that I You are so being uncooperative right now. Why is that? I just I'm trying to be cool with you, but you give me a hard time. Sir, I don't answer questions. Okay, then I'll just be stopped. I gave you my ID. Is there anything else I could provide you with my You want my insurance registration? I do have that. No, this is not the time to stop. This is a criminal offense investigation. Okay. Okay. So, you can sit there. If you're not going to answer a question, then sh I will and I will. The woman outside acted in a way that made it clear she knew about Danielle's behavior. Danielle had already made plenty of foolish decisions that day, but the next one would be her most ridiculous yet. Can I pay for the stuff, please? We'll get there. Get in the car, please. Can I buy it, please? Sit down. Put your feet in now. They'll pay for it. I'll pay for it. Please. I have the money to pay for it. Watch your feet. Please. Can I please? Good job. I've never tackled anyone. That was cool. I was laughing cuz I'm like, she's really 13. Damn. I know. What? What kind of skin care, right? That girl was laughing. She was like, "Did you see her? She's got her." And I was like, "I'm watching her." Upon searching Danielle's purse, officers discovered a small bottle of perfume that had been stolen. They also found a blue pill wrapped in tin foil, which turned out to be a powerful controlled substance. Danielle was charged with shoplifting, attempting to flee from a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.
