the door no no no no no no no come on out out a lot of people feel uneasy when they see police officers so yesterday do you remember being trespassed from the store yeah well we'll make sure you're all right but here's the thing more often than not these men and women are heroes without capes thank you so much you're welcome you'll be all right I think so okay yeah all right sir take care of yourself yeah thank you all right today detective D will take us through five cases where police officers set an example for Humanity and reminded us all why we can still believe in the system if I can give you a ride to the parking ride and Supply you with a bus pass would that help you yeah on April 15th 2024 police officers were summoned to a local grocery store over a case of repeated trespassing however when they found the suspect they were surprised to discover that he was an unexpectedly polite man who explained that he was just trying to get to the homeless shelter in Bellingham what the officers did next would melt anyone's heart it certainly melted mine so yesterday do you remember being trespassed from the store yeah okay so you know you can't come back yeah okay okay did you take any items from the store today no I wasy to get them and to buy them and I put them in the thing right there I have okay you don't have anything in your pockets that came from the store no okay would you like to see what would they like them please okay Mr Tucker I'm not trying to be a butthead I know you're not what what's your plan brother what's your plan gu I'm try to make my way to the homeing in Burlington Bellingham in Bellingham if I can give you a ride to the parking ride and Supply you with a bus pass would that help you yeah okay so we got to figure out what they want to do here first and then we will make that happen for you okay yeah all right I appreciate you cooperating with me every time I appreciate that where are you originally from I was on the island I got out of treatment I went to the islands and I supposed to go back and get go through okay and but that's not where you're originally from where you originally from Tacoma from where Tacoma that to get that no that's not it that's exactly it I'm not going to argue with but you were trespassed yesterday and that's exactly what they said they said hey he's back here again today he was trespass yesterday that's why we're here okay yeah I'm straightforward with you man and I I I have no reason to lie to you but here's the deal though if I if he take you out to the bus P or give you a bus pass you got to go East with the pass you can't come back into town is that fair cuz you said you're trying to get to Bellingham so that'll get you to the transit center over in Mount Vernon yeah okay yeah so you said you were over in the islands I thought I was okay do you need any kind of medical help mhm what do you need whatever they offer well unfortunately we don't have any real facilities here that's the problem with coming you know you're kind of at the end of the road here I'll just make it to the bus stop okay I will give you a ride to the bus stop I step over here SM real quick before we leave is there a smoking area how about if you walk out into the middle I'll stand over there in the parking lot with you you can smoke a cigarette have you been treated fairly since you've been here here no no no but I've been all right okay you mean the officers haven't treated you fairly every time we have treated you fairly all the time I would that's what I want to hear man nothing wrong disrespectful you all time I we try to treat everybody with respect and dignity and I'll never disiz ever one time I appreciate that it just makes it so much easier saying as far as this circumstance let we go back but goes to office it goes into evidence but it's not going to get transported or book or anything like that so okay you're cool do you mind if we uh what would you like done with this pipe I mean I want I need it you need your pipe yeah I need yeah I need it it get me through okay it get me through bro this is what I go some it just helps me stay on my okay all you end up in here and I was just walking around I've been walking around all night for no reason and I ended up at uh Wallgreens over there there was time for me to walk up out of there so I walk deserves a medal for his kind kindness and compassion not only did he listen to the fellow but he also went out of his way to help him out get out of our way NBA CBA or something so I've been trying to address over there okay so check back bit they're not going anywhere is the NBA just a phone call okay what's that I'm waiting for him to bring you your paperwork once we get your paperwork then he didn't instead he handed the man bus fair and made sure he got safely to the bus station now isn't that a great cop and a great human being believe it or not there are many more out there just like him like the officer in the next case what's going on with you today we had somebody call and say you jumped out yelling at people tell them you need cigarettes um yeah yeah can you drive me somewhere where am I driving you uh Amilia where at in Amilia Hol town I can drop you off at the entrance of Hol town I don't care that's fine all on September 22nd 2023 police received reports of someone trespassing on private land however this trespasser wasn't a newcomer to the art of run-ins with the law one might have expected the responding officers to show irritation or roll their eyes at yet another round of familiar Antics but the way they responded truly shocked everyone christe chrisy christe hey chrisy where you at that christe out for she's not coming out she was staying over there did she move over to here this is where ouin had her uh earlier I guess earlier yesterday but I guess with her and some other dude just kind of chilling out on the step here and then I know that Montgomery and them were out with her yesterday as well I believe that was up here but I wasn't here for either I just assume this is where they're at this is a different um property see they got a whole setup over here you I've been well I haven't been into this one but that one over there that one over there the lady called that's why we can trust pastor but this is a different parcel so they were staying over there and we told them they couldn't stay over there anymore but christe fig christe I think it's the next one so there if you we head down this way and then right on the left I know they have a set up here but she was staying down there after searching for a while in the woods the officers were able to track down their suspect but instead of showing irritation or frustration they noticed an elderly woman struggling to stand gripping a tree branch for support going Beyond his duty he took the time to help her and check in on her well-being we're we're in front of the so I'm in assisted living on lock down but this is what I find every day okay she's going to get killed yeah we have an officer like uh he passed about a week ago telling me about she was trying to walk to Target over on string time no she's trying to get to Monteray to go see her son that's what she's saying today yeah he been dying it's got to be the last the same woman yeah he's been dying for two years he ain't dying yet okay she's very feisty or if you could just keep her here for a minute my aunt's on her way and me and my aunt will take her to Columbus Springs ourselves if you could just situation he received a call about a kitten stuck in a drain in a heartbeat the officer decided that to save this little fellow he wouldn't mind getting his paes dirty hello hello is this Miss Henry yes yes hi this is officer scabo with the Savannah Police Department what's going on today I was walking my dog I know you don't think I'm crazy Samaritan but anyway okay and there's a kitten that has fallen down a drain okay shooting I'm sorry I'm trying to get my neighbor it's all right I'm sorry is there anybody that I have to go to work I can't leave it here well I'm so I'm right here I'm just off of Skidway and uh uh vickburg I'll be there shortly I'll see what uh I can do or try to get a hold of animal control okay and see uh but if you can just you're there right now yeah you can come on cuz I got to get to work okay yeah so I'm right here I'm coming trying to bring me a a a pole with a um like a net on it maybe we could fish it out that way but anyway I'm here in the middle of the inhalation but all things considered it could have been much worse the sheriff later confirmed that a propane tank near the house was the cause of the fire thank you detective we really appreciate you
