- Have you been arrested for anything else? - I've been arrested before, also for and it got dropped. - It really appears that you were able to get and you send yourself into your account. - Like I told her- - As bad as it may sound, scamming is an art. Unfortunately not everyone is Picasso. So what happens when these wannabe con artists get nabbed by the law? - Relax. - Please don't kill me. - Relax. - Please don't kill me. - Get ready, because today, Detective Dale will take us through five cases where scammers got the rude awakening they deserved. (suspect screaming) - My front of the car. - While committing crimes is no Joke, I can't help but admire those who do it with finesse. However, as a former detective, let me assure you, these scammers are not in that league. - She scared me. How to kill me. - Scared my daughter (imitate screaming). Arizona police in Yuma was summoned to address reports of a family engaged in fake jewelry scams. Officers approached a black GMC Yukon strategically positioned on the Interstate 18 on-ramp. To their astonishment, they discovered a man by the name of Narcis and his associates, who seemed to believe that peddling counterfeit jewelry to unsuspecting passers by for petrol money or cash handouts was an act of genius. Predictably it was not. - Put gas. Go to put gas. Look, look gas in the car. - [Officer] Okay, just turn it off. Turn it off. North roundabout on-ramp? (Narcis speaking foreign language) - [Officer] Yeah, I'm code four. There's four other vehicles stopped on the on-ramp. So I don't know what's going on with them, but their looks like a lot of debris out the road. I don't know if there was some crash or something. All right, do you have your license? How about the registration for the car? - For the? - Registration? So what happened over there? - Me, I run the car. Run the car here because gas station here. - [Officer] So you went that way, then turned around and came back? - Yeah. - Okay. Did those cars get hit? - No, no, no, nothing. - Okay. Where are you guys going to? - Texas. - Texas. Okay. Because I noticed you have a New York license, so. - Yes. - [Officer] Okay. But you live in Texas? That's where- Okay, all right. Well, hold on. We're not done yet because you're driving the wrong way, you know. - Sorry, we put gas. I go to here. - Yeah. - I'm very, very sorry. I have family. - [Officer] Okay, yeah. because the next gas station is like three miles down the road. You're going, you know? - I have little bit gas. - [Officer] Okay, so just hold on, okay? How many people are in the car? - Me and my daughter. - You and your daughter And your father or- - Family. - [Officer] Your whole family? Okay. - This is all theirs. - [Officer] That's all theirs too? - There's liquor and they were trying to chuck it back into their Escalade. - Okay. - And then he was calling you guys and she took those green gas cans and she was going to throw them at and I'm like, "No!" - [Officer] Okay. - They're scamming people. - Well, I chased them around town a little bit trying to get his license plate. And then I seen him on- - [Officer] How you doing? - [Man] Everybody's been reporting this guy, right here. - Yeah, 115, the plate on the vehicle I'm at with is Arizona, or actually, I'm sorry, Texas. Sam, king, boy, 0-2-7-1. - When he was driving by, that's when he saw the guy in the SUV on that side facing that way. He said that he had a golf club waving it around. - [Officer] Okay. - I don't remember if he said golf club or bat, I can't remember now. I don't know why, I'm just pretty far. But anyways, I think he was a golf club, waving it around. And then telling them like to get away from his vehicle. A little bit of the story that I got from this guy in the white shirt was saying that that this guy is the one that sold him or was trying to sell him that fake jewelry. - [Officer] Okay. - So, I don't know if he confronted him right now and that's how all this occurred. I don't know how they all got here. - Okay. - That part, I haven't gotten there yet. But that guy in the black Camaro just said that he was passing by when he saw that. - [Officer] Okay. - And that's when he called 911 himself. - [Officer] Okay. - So, I think when he was here and he told, "Guys, it's not worth it," he said that he told them like, "Hey, guys, it's not worth it," separate, so that guy drove away and then he parked on the side and called 911. The lady here said that this is all out of their car. - [Officer] They opened the back door and it all fell out. And it also happened over there when they... Right now Selsito- - [Officer] They had the trunk open and he probably drove away- - Yeah. - And it just fell out. - [Officer] Yeah, Selsito opened the trunk over there and then all that stuff fell out too. - He picks up the golf club, he's like, "I'm going to hit you, I'll hit you." - [Officer] So are we waiting for PIS to come out here? - [Officer] I don't know. - [Officer] This is DPS. So this whole incident started here. - Yeah. - So if something's going to happen with this- - [Radio] There's white trucks there, still at 16. Still outside looking at the fields. - This guy tried scamming me about two weeks ago, doing the same thing in the same exact spot. - Okay. - He flagged me down. He was like, "Can you help us, can you help us?" The whole help me scenario. - Yeah. - I lost my wallet, my credit cards, our family, were from L.A., and we're just trying to get home and my wallet, credit cards and everything. Can you help us with a couple of hundred dollars? I have gold." - Yeah. - He thought he was going to follow me to the bank. - Okay. - Instead he followed me to the Gold Pawn and Silver on 32nd Street. - [Officer] Okay. - 32nd Street and the 4th Avenue extension. I pulled in the parking lot because I was like, "I'm going to see if this ring's real. I ain't just going to give this guy money." Like something just... I could see where maybe he was desperate, but he was just these guys, you know? So when I pull up in the parking lot, he's like, "Hey, well, what is the problem?" I'm like "Nothing," I'm all, "you need some cash, right?" He's all, "It's not bank." I'm all, "No, it's bank, I bank here." - [Officer] It used to be a bank. - Being sarcastic. - Yeah. - And I said, "Just hang tight." So I walked in. As soon as I started walking, I kept watching him. I went to close the door and he whipped out. I ran to my truck. I literally chased him around Yuma for about 20 minutes, trying to get just close enough to him to get his license plate. But he's got this smoke cover on. - Okay. - So right now I'm getting on the freeway and I see him parked in front of these people and I'm like, "Oh, he's ripping these people off." I can guarantee it, same scam. - [Officer] Is that what they said that they were trying to do to them or? - Yeah, he'll tell you. This gentleman in the truck will tell you that he sold him some fake jewelry. He has the jewelry that this guy just sold him. - Okay. - Thinking its gold. - [Officer] Okay. Wow. - So I backed up, he was in front of his truck. I backed up in front of him close enough that it would give me enough time. because I knew he was going to try to haul a*s. I just wanted enough time to get where he'd have to jockey out. I was going to run around the back of his truck, take a snap of his license plate so I had it. - [Officer] Right, right. - He just sold this gentleman in the gold truck right here, He sold him some jewelry telling him that it's gold, I'm not sure what the story is he used, but I'll bet it's similar to the one that he told me a week ago. - [Lady] Now you hit it just perfect timing. - You couldn't have been here at any kind better time. - Yeah? - Pulled up right there. - Your timing was perfect. - [Officer] Yeah, because if I would've been back at the other roundabout, he would've been on the thing- - On the thing already gone. - [Officer] I wouldn't even have saw nothing. - Are they from California? That's what they're saying, they're from California. - [Officer] Not what this shows. - Texas? - [Officer] Well, that's what the plates show. - They hang out here. They've been here for weeks. - Yeah, you said that you saw them how long ago? - Between two and three weeks ago, in the same exact spot. - [Officer] Right here? Like right here? Okay. - He was pulled over, when I came two or three weeks ago, I went down the freeway and he jumped out in the lane and he's like, and I said, "Oh, man, this guy's in trouble," you know? - Yeah. - So I pull over and he's like, "Help me, help me." I was like, "What's up? What do you need?" He's like, "I lost my wallet, all my credit cards, my ID, we lost everything. We're trying to get back to L.A.. I just need some money for gas. Can you please help us?" And I was just like, you know, what do you- - [Officer] Yeah. - I said, "Not really." I mean, I said, "You must have family or somebody that can send you a Zelle or cash app or something." I mean, don't tell me you're stranded here. That's impossible. - Turns out the man had been indulging in his shenanigans for quite some time now, but not everyone is foolish enough to be taken in by him. However, this time the consequences would be truly severe. - He goes, "I give you this chain and ring." He show's it's 24-carat. And he goes, "Look, look." And it's stamped, I still have the ring. It's sitting on my counter. I saved it, I knew it was fake. It's sitting on my counter at home. And it says 24-carat. And I'm thinking that chain and the ring, if it's real, there's a couple of grand there, not 300 bucks. But I'm not stupid, either. So I'm like, "You know what? Follow me to the bank." He's like, "Okay." I said, "I don't have any cash. Follow me to the bank." And he followed me all the way to Arizona Gold and Silver at 4th Avenue and 32nd Street. And right when I pulled in the parking lot, he's like, "Oh, what's the problem? What is this?" He goes, "That's no bank." And I'm like, "Yeah, it's bank." I said, let's go in here, "We'll, see if we can get you some money." And he just peeled out of the parking lot. - Yeah. - I chased him for a couple of blocks just trying to get his license plate, but he bailed pretty quick. But I seen him right now. I seen him and I knew what was going on. So I just pulled over and I yelled. As soon as I jumped out of the truck, I'm all, "They're scammers, they're scammers!" And as soon as he saw me, you know, he remembered my truck. I know he remembered my truck. - [Officer] Yeah, I mean, yeah. - Well, I chased him around Yuma for 15 minutes around town trying to get close enough to him to get his plate. - Yeah, if you notice, they've got that smoked back on the plate. You couldn't tell. - He was literally running up on curbs, driving on the sidewalks to get away from me in town. - [Officer] Oh wow. - From 4th Avenue, he cut through parking lots, he ran up on curbs, he was running red lights down 4th Avenue, just because he knew I was trying to get a glimpse of his license plate. So when I pulled up right now, I guarantee you he'd recognize me. Because all I said is that "They're scammers!" And immediately they were freaking out, trying to get the hell out here. - [Officer] Yeah? - He picked up a golf club and told me he was going to hit me with it. He literally had a golf club in his hand. He's like, "I'll hit you, I'll kill you." I have it recorded. - Do you? - Yeah. - I saw the golf club in the old man's hand. - [Officer] Okay, perfect. - That in itself, that's a felony threat, is it not? - [Officer] Yeah. - And then the woman was going to throw those cans at you. - Yeah, she picked up a rock, she picked up a can then she picked up a rock and she got about this close to me. And she's all, "I'm going to hit you in the head, I'm going to hit you, I'm going to hit you." And she kept going like this. And I was ready for her to swing it, you know? But she had a rock in her hand. She's telling me, she's telling me on video she's going to hit me with this rock. She's going to hit me with this rock. - [Officer] Yeah. - And she's like, "Don't touch me!" I'm like, "I'm not touching you, man." I was literally like this, and they were trying to rush me. They knew that the gig was up. I'm recording them and what are they going to do? - Yeah. - So, they're trying to be threatening and I'm just like, "I ain't touching you. I'm not touching you, I'm not threatening you. I'm just standing here." And they're like, he's got the golf club like this. And he's just like, I don't know if he's saying he's going to kill me or he's going to hit me, but he definitely said he is going to hit me with it. - The big guy was helping her load the stuff back in the back of the Escalade, this stuff. - [Officer] Which big guy? - The guy that was driving. - [Officer] The guy driving? - The other guy, the smaller guy, he's was one who had the golf club. - [Officer] Okay, the passenger? - Yeah, we came upon and they were running across the street, so we were all backed up. - [Officer] That's what I saw. It was all backed up. - Yeah, because they were running back and forth. He's trying to record her and she's picking this crap up, getting ready to throw it at him. - You don't have a brother named Tom, do you? - No. - No. - [Officer] Got a dad named Tom. - Tom's your Dad? - Yeah. - It just hit me. I'm like, "Look at that name. There can't be more than one Pohl in family. - [Officer] Do you have the keys for the vehicle? - Of course. - [Officer] Thank you. I'm going to hold onto these for a few minutes, okay? - Why? - [Officer] You guys are going to be here for a few more minutes. We'll figure out what's going on over there, okay? All right? - Next? - What's that? - I need go put gas. - [Officer] If the car's off, you don't need gas. It's off, right? Yeah, it's off. You don't need gas if it's off. It's not going anywhere. - What's happening? What problem? - [Officer] What problem? The problem that happened over there. - This guy he nearly boom my car. - [Officer] Who hit your car? - The guy, he bump, he crash my car. - Where? - I'm scared for the guy. This guy crazy. - [Officer] Where did he scratch your car at? - Boom, back, the back, boom. - [Officer] So he scratched it in the front? Okay. No, nothing there. Nothing on the front. (passenger speaking indistinctly) Okay. - For me I'm scared. - [Officer] So where were you guys going? - Now, for Texas. - [Officer] Where were you going? Why were you there? - Parking here for my daughter piss. She's coming, the guy broke the car. Hey, hey, what you doing? I'm Romanian, she's Romania. - [Officer] You're Romanian? - Yeah. - [Officer] How about- - Same, all family Romania. - [Officer] All of you, okay. All right, and your family, you said? How did all this stuff fall out of your truck over there? - The bag. - [Officer] So you opened the back- - Yeah. - And it fell? - Yeah. - Why did you open the back? For drink the water. - [Officer] Oh, so she could drink water? - Yes. - Okay. - I'm scared. What problem? You understand me? You understand me? - [Officer] Yeah, that the guy scared you. - I go to pick up my baggage? - [Officer] Not right now. Not right now. - Not right now. - [Officer] Why did you leave it there? - Because all time he scared me. - [Officer] Why didn't you go that way? Why did you turn around? - I'm scared. - I'm scared. Because all the time (imitates car revving) - [Officer] But why didn't you go that way? Why did you turn? - No, come back here to go to the police. You understand me? - [Officer] Okay. Do you have a phone? - Yeah. - Call 911. - No time, me come back, the car I call. - [Officer] How about him? - No, no. - Or her? - No understand. - No? - No. Okay, all right. Hang tight, okay? Hopefully I'm far enough away it won't start, right? Yeah, he said that they stopped there and the other guy pulled up in front of him and backed up real quick all of a sudden. That's this guy. And then the other guy that's in the front seat has ID from Baltimore, Maryland. And the other lady in the back has one from Ontario, Canada. Because a couple weeks ago there was people at 4th and 24th with signs saying, "Help this kid with cancer." And they were Romanian and the kid was in France, and they were going to send money to France, but they came from L.A. to beg for money. Because I guess they can't find anywhere in between that has other people that might give them money. - These scammers' little charade was finally busted. And now it was time for them to reap what they had sewn. - [Officer] Go ahead and step out for me please. - Huh? - Go ahead and step out. Go ahead and step out. You're fine, go ahead and step out. - Okay, okay. - [Officer] Put your hands behind your back. (handcuffs clicking) (child screaming) We're going to go this way, okay? 1, Adam 41, 10-15. - Okay, you can step right back out this side for me. - [Officer] Are we taking the female too? - Yeah. - Okay. I can take him. (child crying) - Look, she's crying for her dad. - [Officer] What's that? - Look. (child crying) - [Officer] Well, turn her around so she doesn't see him then. (child crying) Stand here out of view. (child crying) - [Officer] Okay, I can take the female in my car. - [Officer] Do you have somebody that can pick up the baby? Family, or friend here in town? - Yeah, she's coming. No problem. - [Officer] Ma'am, can you walk this way? - [Suspect] No problem, please. - [Officer] Come this way, please. - [Suspect] What happened here? - [Officer] What's that? - What happened? - What happened? - Yes, please. - [Officer] You know what happened over here. - What happened, for she scared me, what problem? - [Officer] You know what happened over here. - What happened? Tell me, please, what happened? - What happened? - Yes. - [Officer] You know what happened. - He scared me, he scared my daughter. - [Officer] You know what happened - I don't know what happened. - You know what happened. - No. (suspect speaking foreign language) - Where she go? - Where who go? - Where he go? My husband? - [Officer] Oh, they're they're still right there. They're not going anywhere yet. - She not going anywhere? - Not yet. - Not yet? - [Officer] He's right there. He's in the car. - She's scared me. He want to kill me. This guy. - [Officer] All right, come on out. Not tight at all. Go and take a seat. Go and take your shoes off, your shoes. Just put them out here. Your shoes. - Shoes? - Shoes, yeah. - Why? - [Officer] Because we can't have your shoes in there. - How long time to be here? - [Officer] Probably an hour or two. - Next time out? - [Officer] What's that? - Out, next two hours? - [Officer] I don't know. We'll talk to the detectives when they come. Do you have a belt? - [Officer] Thank you. - Let me read you your rights, okay? I'm going to read you your rights, okay? Before we go any further. (talking sped up) Do you understand that? - No. - No? - Okay. Basically what it means is- (talking sped up) Do you understand what I'm saying? No? - No. - Okay. Because of the language barrier, I don't think I'm going to be able to talk to you and ask you very many questions because I need to understand if you want to talk to me or not answer, any questions. Right now you don't understand what I'm asking? - No. - No? - I understand, I'm talking. - Okay, all right. Yeah, I don't think, because I need a response from you if you want to talk to me without a lawyer. - Me, Romanian. - Okay. All right, that's fine. We'll go back to the cell. We're almost done, okay? - How much time stay here? - Maybe 30 minutes. Not very long. You will leave, yes. - I leave. - They are not going to leave. - Oh, no, leave? - No, they're not going to leave. - Why? - Because they got some charges. They're going to go to jail. - One? - Both. - Two and me leave? - You are going to leave. What happened today? Like, what do you remember happening? - He's trying to get to her. - Okay. - He bring my daughter. - Okay. - And the people, she stop and she hit my car here and she do it like that. - Somebody backed up to you? - Yeah. - Okay. - She not too nice and I think she want to kill me, something like that. She scared me. - Okay, so you were scared? Okay, do you remember, did they tell you anything? - Yeah, she don't speak nice. - Okay, nothing nice? So you're parked there, the car backs up towards you. And then what did you do? What did you do? - When I go, she go and I drag her down. And that take the thing too much stress. - I stopped on the curb. - Okay. - On the left. - Like it is my wife, she go back to pick up the water for my- - Okay, so hatch was open? - Yeah, yeah. She's still stopping in the back one car for her. For has something for her, no? Then another guy stop in my front. He only go to her, he push the back to broke my car. Me put my car broke in the- - Did it touch your car? - Yeah, yeah, on the front. We put the gear up to back. They scared my daughter. - Okay. - I think here this country is lots of people crazy. I think he trying to kill me. My wife is coming in the car, my friend in the car say go. I see the police and stop, no problem. - Okay. - That the problem. - Okay, did you pick up anything like to try to defend yourself or did you have anything in your hands? - I pick up my clothes. I don't remember so good. My things to go because I scared, everybody scared for the people. - And who was with you? It was you. Is this your husband? Your husband? - Yeah. - And then who's the older- - It's a friend. - It's a friend. Okay, and then there was a baby in the car, right? Is that your baby? Okay, was there anybody else with you? - No, no. - Just you three adults and then the one baby. Okay. The guy that stopped his truck, have you- - Yeah, he stopped in the front of the car. (imitates car) - All three suspects were hilariously trying to pin the blame on the other couple who were merely trying to stop them. However, the police officers saw right through their lies. It was clear they were in for some serious trouble, but not before putting on a dramatic show. - Yes, I see the lady in the car and my friend, they come through the car for go for there. - Yeah. - I see the police. - Okay I stop. - You stopped. - Call the police. - Okay. When they parked the car, they got out of the car. Do you remember what they said? What they told you? - Who? - The guy in the truck that was in front of you? - No, she don't speak nice. She speak to you stupid, you crazy. And nobody, she don't stop nobody, she don't talk with him. - Okay- - She's coming and she recognize me, I stop to get water from my daughter, my husband, because it's sick. He's trouble with the teeth. - Okay. - Yeah, fever, you know? And he's coming. Nobody she stop. Nobody, she don't talk with him. He's coming. - Okay, so he was trying to tell people not to stop for you? - Yeah. - Okay. - He stop he do not nice. - Okay, the guy that backed up to your truck, have you ever seen him before today? Do you know who he is? The guy in the truck? - No. - You ever seen him before? - Before? - Before today, have you ever seen him? - No, no, no. - You don't know who he is? - No, no. - Okay. To be honest with you, with what happened today, the guy that stopped? - Yeah. - He said two weeks ago you tried to sell him a ring that was fake. Do you remember that happening? - No. - Okay. He says he has pictures of you and the car. - Maybe, I don't know. I don't remember. The jewelry, no steal, I sell jewelry for five, $10, $20. This is my job. - Where do you get the jewelry from? - Huh? - Where do you get the jewelry from? - China, it's China. - Okay. - Yeah. - What carat gold is it? - No, it's no gold, it's fantasy. - Okay, so it's not real? - No, no. - Okay. - For 10, $20 is- - Okay. - Is it for real? - Okay. Are you telling people that it's real gold? - No. - Okay, because I have a lot of witnesses that are saying- - No, I took this ring. I give you ring. No told I give you gold. I give you ring, give me money for gas, something for gas. - Okay. Did you pick up a weapon at any time? - What? - Did you have a weapon with you? Like a knife, a gun, bats, rocks, anything? - No, I have my kitchen. My bags where have something like a kitchen. - Okay. Did you use any of that stuff- - No. - As a weapon? - No using. - You didn't use it to try to defend yourself? Or did you use anything like that way? - I don't remember. To knife, no. - No knife? - Something like a knife, no. - Okay, did you have a gun? - No. - No gun? - I don't see never gun. - No guns, okay. - I don't try to kill him. Don't kill me, don't kill me and she with the phone, she don't speak nice, you know? - Okay, so they were recording you with the phone, right? - Mm-hmm. - Okay. So when I watch the video, what is it going to show me? What do you think? Because they gave us the video from the phone. - Yeah, she show you. - Okay. What am I going to see, though, when I watch this video? - I don't remember the video because I have too much stress. - I got you. - My daughter. - Right now we have a lot of people, like, a lot of people are calling police saying that you and your wife, they got pictures of you guys, that you're going to different gas stations and different places trying to sell this gold and you're telling them it's real and they're for hundreds of dollars. - No, maybe other people in this country. - No, there are pictures of you guys in the cars. - Oh, really? - Yes. - My picture? - Yeah. - Yeah, but they took from here. - Because what they're telling us is that you're telling them it's real gold and they're giving you hundreds of dollars, not just 20, not just 10, they're giving you hundreds. - I told for the guys how much you want? If you want to give me 100, if you want to give me 20, 40, 10. - Okay, so you're asking them whatever they want to give you? - Yeah, give me how much you want. - Okay. Just so you know, not today's incident, but before today, we have a lot of reports involving you guys that you're trying to sell people jewelry like necklaces, rings, that kind of stuff. - I don't know. - Okay. - Me, I don't know nothing. - You don't know anything about that? No? - No. - Okay. Today, when you guys were on the side of the road, were you trying to sell chains or rings? - I don't know. I know she go to get water in the back, you know? - Okay. What if I told you I have video of you guys trying to sell rings and jewelry? - I don't know. - You don't know about that? You said you're scared. - Yeah, I'm scared. - So what happens after that? After he backs up to your truck, what happens? - I come back and I put the gear. Me drive back, he drive back. I push D. I return the car for drive because in my front no nothing. - Where was your wife at during this time? Was she inside your car, your wife? - Yeah, she go get water. Push the back. - Okay. - Yeah, I lose everything. Is coming the car. - Okay. - Because the daughter, the lady, she's go for pick up the water in the back. - Is that your wife? - Yeah. - Okay. - And then the other guy is your brother? - No, it's cousin. - Cousin. Okay. He remembers you guys, that's why he said he stopped because you guys tried to sell him a fake ring. - No. - You don't remember that? Okay. The rings and the jewelry you had today on you guys, those are fake, right? - I don't know, but to him, I don't know, I don't see him my life. - The guy that stopped today, you've never seen him? Okay, what if I told you that he has video of you trying to sell him the ring? - I don't remember. I don't remember him. - Okay, so if he shows his video of you trying to sell him a ring, what would you have to say to that? - I don't know what to say. - Okay, so you don't know what to say about that? - Yeah. - Okay. You could hurt somebody with a rock, right? - I don't do it like that. - I didn't say you hit him with it, but you threatened somebody with it. - Yeah, but she stressed me. She gave me stress, that's why. - Okay. And like I said, that will be in my report that you felt stressed. That you felt scared, but the fact is that you probably should have called police, okay? - Yeah, but no time to call the police- - I understand. - That's why. - You could've got in your car. You could've got in your car. You didn't have to pick up rocks and try to go at her. - But she scared me to go, she broke my baggage in no time. - So did she go to your bag? And what does that mean? - She throw my baggage down. - The baggage fell out of the car, right? - Yeah. - Did he throw it out? - Well, she scared me, I forget to close. - Oh, okay, so it fell out of the back. Your husband's going to go to jail today as well. - Why? - For the same charges you have. And your friend, he's going to go to jail today too. - For the other people? What are you doing for the other people to scare me? - We're investigating, but right now what it looks like is you're the one who have weapons. - Go and scare the people. She did this, maybe she killed the people. You have to do something. - Well, we can't say what he was going to do, but we do know that you guys had weapons and you came at him with weapons. - How long I be here? - We're almost done here. So maybe 30, 40 minutes here, and then we'll go to the jail, okay? - Okay. - Do you have any questions for me right now? - No, please, thank you so much. - Okay. - Because he should be locked up. She scared me. - Just because you're scared doesn't give you the right to come at people with weapons though, okay? Like I said, you had options. You could have got back in your car, called police, we would've went out there, we would've helped you, okay? - Yeah, but I don't go in the car because when I go she don't cross the- - I understand. - She go in my baggage, that's why I don't go go there in the car. - 49-year-old Bogdan, the man sitting in the passenger seat, was charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. 38-year-old Narcis was charged with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, threats, fraud schemes, and criminal simulation. And the woman, 36-year-old Diana, faced charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, and threats. While this family may have finally learned their lesson, sadly, scammers are still running rampant across America, but not all grace us with their presence on the highways, you might now find them at your local gas station as well. - Sir, arrest me. Look, I wasn't even on the property. Please. - Yes. Put your hands- - I'm not even-. an officer was called to deal with a woman causing quite the ruckus at a petrol station. Armed with a petrol can, she was boldly asking strangers for money. After receiving a criminal trespass warning, she decided to disregard it entirely. Naturally, the officer soon found her trespassing on the property again. Clearly, this woman was intent on testing every last ounce of patience the officers had. - No, I was right here, sir. - [Officer] You're right here right now. Get to the front of my unit. - No, sir, look. - [Officer] Listen here. - Please tell him. Don't arrest me. Look, I didn't sit on the property. Please. - [Officer] Put your hands- (suspect screaming) Put your hands behind your back. - Wait! - [Officer] Put your hands behind your back. - I don't want to see you have I all over (suspect screaming) Help me, sir. I didn't do nothing - [Officer] Whoa! - I know I'm not supposed to be on this property. - Hey, relax, relax. Relax. (suspect screaming) Don't arrest me. I was right there, sir. Can I explain? - Are those hard seats in the back? - Look, don't arrest me. - The hard plastic ones? - Yeah. - Don't arrest me. Call the Sheriff's Department. - [Officer] Huh? - Call the sheriff's department. No. - Yeah. - You know what, don't arrest me. - I'll clean it, because we got the cloth one- - Call the sheriff's department! - Would you stop yelling. - No, because- - I'm trying to talk to you. - You know what? Don't do this to me. - Okay, you're just- - Don't do this to me. I peed on myself. No, you're not going to put me in that cop car. You better call the sheriff's department. - [Officer] That's what I'm trying to say, is if you got one of the hard ones, it'll be easier to clean up afterwards. - Call the sheriff's... No, I got a right to call the sheriff's department. - [Officer] Ma'am, stop yelling. - Okay, well then let tell my story. - [Officer] You're yelling. - She said, Pastor Roosevelt said he'll go pick you up. I said, "Pastor Roosevelt? I thought he was out of town." - Hey, we got anything to do over here? - [Officer] Incoming units, you can downgrade. - Call the sheriff's apartment. You're not going to arrest me. - [Officer] Ma'am, stop yelling. - Because I'm being falsely accused. - You know who I am, right? You know who I am, right? - Yes, I know who you are. - Okay, I'm asking you to calm down, all right? Do me a favor and just listen to me, okay? - Sir, you know I know you. - Yes, we know. - No, I'm talking about him. - Okay. - Dude, I was right there. I was right there, right? Walking from the gas station, okay? Let me tell you first, you're not going arrest me for some bulls**t when people are doing some shady s**t, I'm being stalked by my, you know, neighbors and stuff. You can keep the phone, but you are not going to arrest me for no reason. Because you know what? I'm not expendable. Like I've been calling, I called all my family. And honestly called me. I was right there, that's where I was. Don't put me in the car. Call the sheriff's department. You know what, sir? I obeyed your orders. - [Officer] Would you lower your voice! - Because I obeyed your orders. - [Officer] Lower your voice. We've been here for five minutes now, you've had plenty of time to calm down, okay? That's all I'm asking you to do. - Because I'm always being falsely accused. - [Officer] As of right now, you're not being accused of anything. We found- - You know what? Rodriguez, wait, I wasn't trespassing. You know why? Because she asked me. I got proof. - [Officer] Listen, are you hurt? - You know what? Don't leave me! Because I had to get a ride because I was being followed. Dude, I was trying to get you to you. You're not going to arrest me. - Calm down. Listen- - I don't feel comfortable. I need to go to the hospital. I’ve been r***d. - [Officer] We're not doing that, okay? - No, I'm not doing nothing. You're not going to arrest me. - [Officer] Ma'am, if you keep fighting and resisting, you're going to get charged with an additional crime. - You know what? You know what? - [Officer] You're already under arrest. - Call the sheriff's department because I don't feel comfortable like this. I don't feel comfortable. - I often wonder why people refuse to cooperate, even after getting caught. This woman was no exception, resisting everything the police did. However, this was not going to end well for her. - Ray, come here! I don't have nothing. I don't do drugs. I've just been running. - Unlock these, bro? - No! Jackie, she just went in the store. I seen her walk. - [Officer] Stop resisting. - Let me go call her. No! - Back of this unit, right here. - Don't arrest me. My daughter's across the street. I'm being falsely accused! Okay, wait, I got a right to a call here. Let me sit down for a minute. No! - Get on the other side. - I got PTSD from the cops! Call the cops that I know! - [Officer] We're not doing that. - Help me! (suspect screaming) I've been hurt. You guys, I've been hurt. That's why I can't tell you. - [Officer] Okay, you're going to- - [Suspect] I can't tell you. I can't tell you that I've been hurt. Okay, you know what? Sir, I've been hurt! You're not allowed to do this to me! Please, call, oh f**k. - Okay, I'll call him right now, but you need to get in there, okay? You're going to go in there, okay? - I don't want to get in the car with police officers I don't know. - I'll take you. - No! - [Officer] Is the sheriff here yet? (suspect screaming) - I've got proof written down. I've got proof written down. (suspect shouting) - [Officer] Here grab her legs. (suspect screaming) - Okay, don't push me! Oh my God! (suspect screaming) They just called the police. They just called the sheriff's department. - [Officer] You're going to pick up an additional charge. - They just called the sheriff's department. I'm being stalked. - Okay. - I got proof. - They're coming, but you need to sit down. - I've got proof. No, they're not going to kill me. They're not going to kill me. - [Officer] Do you want me to TASE you? - No, come on. - Sit down. - [Officer] Do you want me to TASE you? - [Suspect] No, I need water. - Get in there now. - Don't TASE me. (suspect screaming) - [Officer] Anybody else got urine on them? - Yeah, all over. - Yeah, me too. - [Officer] Nice. (indistinct radio chatter) (suspect screaming) - [Officer] I'll help you clean your lip. Do you have hospital wipes? That's what you're going to need. - Hey, do you ever remember seeing any of this stuff on the job description when we got hired here? - [Officer] Do you want to loan him, those wipes, Sarge, so we can clean it after we're done transporting? (suspect hyperventilating) - Help! I peed all over the floor! I peed all over the floor! - It was time for this unruly woman to go to jail, but what's a criminal without a few tantrums along the way? (suspect screaming) - [Officer] Let them know we have a combative. - I'm not. I bet Leon's in there. And sergeant goes to my church, lieutenant. So I'm not being combative. I apologize, sir. I just need water, okay? I need water. Oh my God. Oh my God. I knew that was my daughter. Andrew and Davis and all my friends. Dude, I know what to do. Whenever I'm peeing on myself, it's because I was forced. I was forced to do something. I had to get a ride, sir. - The woman was ultimately charged with criminal trespass and resisting arrest. Clearly, she was delusional thinking she'd get away with her crimes. Speaking of delusion, the next fellow must be the most utterly deluded of them all. - [Officer] Put the phone down. (both speaking Spanish) - Because I go through this racist stuff all the time, stereotyping. But today, I was like, "You know what? I'm tired of it." - [Man] I think this guy is just a real con man. And I think he's going to go from place to place today. - [Officer] Call Officer Leo. - [Man] Yeah. - One of the most aggravating things for me is when someone skips out on paying their bill. And this man chose to do exactly that. officers received reports of a man who had left a restaurant without paying his bill. After conducting a search of the area they located him. When questioned about the incident, he alleged that he had been kicked out of the restaurant. What's even worse is that he tried to portray himself as the victim in this situation. Nevertheless, the police soon realized that this man was nothing but a fraudster. - Why are you asking for my ID? - [Officer] Because you've been accused of a crime. I'm not saying that you're guilty. - Oh, I'm sorry. - [Officer] But I got to get you identified. - Oh, okay, I'm sorry. - All right? Relax, relax, come over here. You're not... Yeah, yeah, that's fine. All right, you're being accused of a crime, but we need your ID, okay? - You know how times are, man? - All right. - So. Thank you, man. I was freaking out. - [Officer] So tell me what happened. - I'm still shaking because most of the time, when things like this happen- - [Officer] So tell me what happened. - Okay. - Get to the bottom of it. Tell me what happened? - All right, so I went over there to have happy hour. I had some food and I was... I day trade, I do options trading. I got a business major and I got an accounting. So I do day trading. - [Officer] All right, were you by yourself? - Yes, by myself. - All right. How much did you eat? What did you buy? - No, it was only 70 bucks, bro. - $70 worth? - Yeah. (laughs) - All right, so I tried to pay with Apple Pay. - Okay. - And he said like, "I'm sorry, sir, we don't take Apple Pay." I was like, cool, I gave him my credit card. - Okay. - That didn't go through. - His face was really upset already. And I'm like, I tried to educate him. Like, "Listen, I don't have any liquidity with me, because most of my capital is in my investments." And banks, I don't have banks neither. - [Officer] Okay, did you have any means to pay that $70? - No, no, no, no, no, no. I want to sue them, I'm sorry. - [Officer] But do you- - No, no, no, no. I'm sorry, you're asking the wrong question, sir. I'm so sorry. - [Officer] You consumed food, right? - Huh? - You consumed food? - Hell, yeah. - [Man] He pitched this crazy fit, went nuts in here. Threatening people, just, I'm talking about like went nuts at the bar. - [Officer] Do you have a way to pay that bill now? - Correct, no, I don't have it now. - [Officer] You can or- - I can pay it. I want to report the people- - [Officer] All right, but listen. - Because it was a statement. Can I say the statement, sir? - [Officer] Listen, you're on camera. - Oh, so sorry. - [Officer] What's your name? - Victor. - Yeah. - Victor- - Sir- - [Officer] Walking away- - I've never done this in my life. - [Officer] I know, but listen to me, Victor. - But it feels so good- - [Officer] Walking away from a tab is a crime. - No, no, he kicked me out. - [Officer] Yeah, I know- - No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. - [Officer] All right, hold on, hold on. Victor- - I'm leaving. - [Officer] No, you can't, Victor. You can't because then you're going to go to jail. - I know. - And relax. Put yourself over here. - No, hands? - [Officer] Put yourself over here. - Don't come with that, sir. Put yourself over here. Put yourself over here. - Don't come with that, sir. - Put yourself over here. - All right. Don't come with that, sir. We are respect. I'm sorry, I know you're an officer, but we're human beings. - [Officer] Give me one second. - I'm not looking at the uniform. - I mean, he was even saying that, you know, how late do we stay open? It might take him till 10 o'clock before he can pay his tab. He was on his computer. I mean, it was nuts. This guy is out there. (suspect speaking Spanish) - Because I go through this racist stuff all the time, stereotyping. But today I was like, "You know what? I'm tired of it." - I think this guy is just a real con man. And I think he's going to go from place to place to place now. - [Officer] Call Officer Leo. - Yeah. - Okay, so let me call- - If he can pay his tab why didn't he do that? Why did he go through all of that craziness? - Yeah. I know, people are nuts. - I got the money to pay and I was trying to pay. - [Officer] All right, can you pay now? - No, I'm trying to pay, so I want to sit down, have a water while I get my payment. Can I do that? - [Officer] All right, I need to know if they want to press charges. - Yeah, because, yeah... No, no, I want to press charges. Not them, me, officer. - [Officer] Can you answer me that question? - Charges, not them. I want to press charges to the restaurant, not to me. - [Officer] I'm sorry. - We good. - [Officer] Does he have funds to cover the bill? It's like 80 something dollars. - [Officer] Yeah, he does. So that's why I'm asking. - [Officer] Okay, then yes. - [Officer] All right. - [Officer] I'll get the information here. (Victor speaking Spanish) - [Officer] What do you have there that you can pay with? That you can pay the bill? - Huh? - What do you have here that you can pay the bill? - Right here, sir. My Robinhood account, where I do day trading. - [Officer] No, but you can't pay with that. - Yeah, so that's my only form of payment. - And that's not my problem. I'm trying to pay. - [Officer] All right, hold on. 71 switching to 2. - I'm sorry, man. Because I'm questioning your word. This is so funny. You can't wait to see what's going to happen. It's amazing. - And the one thing is I love to sit in. I love the restaurants. They're all my friends. I'm more worried about him going and doing this to every single person that he has to deal with tonight. - [Officer] Well, he's not going to do it tonight. - [Officer] Standby. Put the phone down. (both speaking Spanish) - [Officer] Sit! 71, TASER pointed. - I'm sitting down, guys, look at this. - [Officer] All right, put your hands behind your back! - Okay. - [Officer] Put your hands behind your back! - [Victor] I don't know why you're arresting me, officer. - [Officer] Do yourself a favor, relax. - Oh, okay. - [Officer] Or, you're going to get TASED. Put your hands behind your back! - I relax. - [Officer] Do you want him trespassed as well? - [Man] Yes, trespassing as well. You know, he doesn't need to step foot around here. And if he does, that just means they're trouble. He did sort of like talk about a little assault on me. - [Officer] 71, 10-15. - [Victor] Tell him that I'm trying to pay my tab, and now he's arresting me. - [Officer] Get up. - Are you, listening? No. - Get up, or you're going to be charged with resisting. - Resisting? No, no, I don't want to get. - [Officer] All right. - [Victor] But that's messed up, mami. - All right. - That's messed up. - [Officer] All right, put your chest there. Put your chest there. All right. - [Man] It really just seemed he wanted to play the victim and get wild and nasty. - The fake laugh and false friendliness serve as a stark reminder not to trust those who appear overly friendly too quickly. If he could attempt to deceive an entire restaurant, one can only imagine what he might do to individuals. Fortunately, as of today, he won't be conning anyone else. And his little charade would soon come crumbling down. - [Victor] And he's Spanish. It's the system. It sucks, mama. Why you searching me? - [Officer] Stop, you're under arrest. - [Victor] Why? - [Officer] You're under arrest, stop moving. - [Victor] Why I'm under arrest? - [Officer] 71, copy. - [Victor] He's telling me I'm under arrest, but he's not telling me why. - [Officer] You're under arrest for theft. - [Victor] For theft? I was stealing. - Thank you for your quickness and your kindness. Can I get you a bottle of water here? - [Officer] Oh. Thanks so much, appreciate that. - [Officer] 71, he's resisting, he's getting physical. - [Victor] That's crazy! - [Officer] Stop moving. - [Victor] What are you going to charge me with? - [Officer] You're going to be charged with resisting. Stop moving, I told you, all right. Stop moving. - I'm not moving. - Stop moving. - I'm not moving. - Stop moving. - I'm not moving, sir. - Stop moving! Turn around. - I'm not moving. - [Officer] Turn around, stop resisting. - I'm not moving, don't kill me. - Relax! - Please don't kill me. - Relax. - Please don't kill me. Don't kill me! Please don't kill me! Please don't kill me! - Relax! - I'm not moving. Don't kill me, please. - Relax. - Please don't kill me. - Relax. - Don't kill me. Please, officer, don't kill me, please. - Relax. - Please don't kill me. - [Officer] I keep telling you to stop moving. You're resisting. - I'm not moving. - [Officer] Stop! - [Suspect] I was asking for help. How I make it worse, officer? Why you treating me like this? - [Officer] Stop, stop. - [Suspect] Why you treating me like this? - [Officer] Stop! Relax. - I love you. - [Officer] Relax. Relax, relax! - Oh my God, bro. - Relax. - [Victor] Oh my God, I'm not moving. I'm not resisting. - I told you to relax. - I'm relaxed. - [Officer] No, you're not. Calm down. - I've been relaxed. I'm not moving. Wow, man. Are you serious, man? Oh my God. What If I do the right thing and I'm getting arrested, sir? - [Officer] Just hold him. He's going to be charged with 36 bravo. - Stop moving. - I was trying to pay. - [Officer] Stop moving. - I was trying to pay. I even stopped him on the street to tell him that they were trying to tell me that I wasn't going to pay. I stopped him to tell him I'm trying to pay to help me out. They kicked me out of my- - [Officer] Roll him on his side. Roll on your side. - Tell me what to do, I'll do it, sirs. - [Officer] Stay right there on your side. Stay right there on your side. - Oh, okay. We Spanish, papi, we Spanish. - Yeah, so listen to me. - [Victor] Not a race card or nothing. - Listen to me, - Si? - Okay? - Yes, sir. - I just came from over there. They told me what happened. You were there- - [Officer] Let's get him in the car. - [Officer] You didn't pay. That's why they took your picture, okay? I'm going to sit you up. - I've never been arrested before. - Relax. - All right? Two things, all right. You've been arrested for resisting. - [Suspect] No, no, no, I didn't resist! - [Officer] Stop moving! - Stay, stay! - I wasn't resisting! - He tried to charge me with resisting! - I'm a professional. (all shouting indistinctly) - Don't kill me. - Relax. - I can't breathe! Don't kill me! - [Officer] We're going to get you in the car, okay? Take your hand off his neck. Let's get you in the car, come on. - Stand up. - Give me a second. - [Officer] If you're talking you're breathing. - We got you. - Let me breathe. - [Officer] We'll give you a minute. - Let me breathe! - We'll give you a minute. - [Suspect] We're Spanish, man! - [Officer] We got you. - [Suspect] I didn't do nothing wrong! I was trying to pay the tab. - [Officer] Relax, relax. (officer speaking Spanish) - [Victor] Give me a second. Don't grab me! - Relax! - Relax! - Go. - Get in the vehicle. Get in the vehicle. - Let me move! - Get in the vehicle. - Let me move. Thank you, Officer Hernandez. Thank you, man. I appreciate your service. Just don't delete the video. I can pay the tab right now if you want. Like, it's no problem. And I can tip him $100. No, and I know it was a miscommunication and I know you're going to have to apologize to me. You know? And the owner is going have to apologize to me too. I do have my best friend, he's a cop. I'm not throwing names. I'm not throwing names. I don't want his help. I'm not one of those guys, you know, in the nightclub, they hit you up. - This con artist was charged with disorderly conduct, defrauding an innkeeper and resisting arrest with violence. - I almost burst out laughing when he said "Most of my capital is tied up in my investments." I mean, we're talking about $80 for a meal, buddy. If this guy annoyed you get ready for a full blown nervous breakdown because the caretaker up next is the biggest scammer you'll ever come across. - He used my rewards money. He went into my savings account. He went into my checking account, and he went into my credit card. - What if we just drop it and I'll bite the bullet and just have to pay her back? Do we have to do all that? - [Officer] "Bite the bullet"? What do you mean? - Like, I'll just take the blame for it and just have to pay her back. - [Officer] Did you do it? - No, but it's in my account. So, obviously- - [Officer] I mean, just because it's in your account that doesn't mean you committed a crime, all right? - Caretakers play a significant role in many people's lives, but for this woman, her trust was shattered forever. On May 12th, 2022, police officers were summoned over reports of an elderly woman being scammed by her own caretaker. Deputies responded to a Bank of America regarding a fraud in which a woman named Donna Welch had just discovered that over $5,000 had been stolen from several of her bank accounts. - I have this kid that comes to my house all the time to help me out with my computer and stuff. And I do not belong to Zelle. - [Officer] You don't have a Zelle account? - No. - Okay. - He does. - [Officer] How did the funds leave your account? Can you just kind of walk me through that? - I don't know. - [Officer] You never gave him your banking information? - He knows a lot about me. - [Officer] That's his name, Spenser, Spenser Trinkle? - Yeah. - [Officer] How much money did you lose? - So far it's coming out to $5,000. - [Officer] Do you know where Spenser lives? - No. - [Officer] How do you know him? - He used to be my cable guy. - [Officer] You don't know anything about him? - Well, I've known him three, four years now. - [Officer] You mean you gave him your bank account information? - No, he used to help me because I'm not- - [Officer] What do you mean "he used to help" you? - Set things up. - [Banker] Her friend called earlier. (cell phone ringing) - [Officer] Answer it. - Answer it? - Yeah. - [Officer] Hey, Spenser. - [Spenser] Hello? - Hey, it's Deputy Harrison, Clark County Sheriff's Office. How are you? - [Spenser] Hello, is Anna there? - [Harrison] Yeah, this is Deputy Harrison. I'm talking to you right now. - You keep breaking up. Hello? I'm just looking at my thing. I know exactly what happened. So, I'm like, now I got to fix it for her. - [Harrison] Okay, where you at? Let's fix it. - I'm in the (indistinct). - [Harrison] Okay, do you want to come out to Bank of America down here in Palm Coast? - [Spenser] Sure, can I talk to Donna real quick? - [Harrison] Sure. - Hey. - [Spenser] What happened? - What do you mean "what happened?" - [Spenser] I see it in there. And now that you're showing, I'm like, oh God.. So you're right, it's all in my credit account. So now I'm going to pay you all that back. - [Donna] You went into my savings account, my credit card account. - [Harrison] Ma'am, let me talk. - [Spenser] I'm doing a- - [Harrison] Hey, Spenser, Spenser. - [Spenser] I'm doing a home equity loan, so you're you're going to get all that back. - [Harrison] How far are you? About 20, 30 minutes, 40? - [Spenser] Yeah, give me one sec. Yes, I'll call you right back. - Who's that? - It's Spenser. - [Harrison] Well, answer it, let me talk to him. - [Harrison] Hey, Spenser, it's Deputy Harrison. - Hey, I'm coming. - I'm sorry. - [Spenser] Can I talk to Donna real quick, though? - [Harrison] No, no, because I got to ask you a couple questions too. Like, I got called here, so no big deal. I just want to ask you, get your side, get her side and do my thing and get out of here. I'm not trying to waste my time. - [Spenser] I don't want to get in trouble. I've been helping her for- - [Harrison] No, right now nobody's in trouble. - [Spenser] Can I talk to Donna real quick too? - [Harrison] No, no, when you get here, you can talk to her. That way we can just handle it in person. All right, if he keeps calling, we're not answering. - I tell you where he works, you are not going to believe it. - [Harrison] Yep? - [Donna] Yeah, he keeps calling me. - [Harrison] So where do you work, DCF? - [Spenser] Yeah, so I work with you guys all the time. I'm like, I don't know what the hell's going on. We'll figure it out, we'll take care of it. I'm not in trouble, right? - [Harrison] No, no, no, dude. I have to ask, I have to dot my I's and crossed my T's. Hey, what's going on, man? I got you. - [Harrison] All right, can I talk to you over here real quick? - Absolutely. - All right, cool. - Hey, I met you before. - Yeah, what's good? - Good to see you. - [Harrison] So, can you tell me a little bit about Donna? - Yeah, so I've known her for about four years now. - Yeah. - Basically she has no family, so I kind of like, sometimes you'll find her and she'll be passed out on the floor, hit her head, she's bleeding, she has all these cuts. So I always check up on her. I'll help her pick her up, pick her up off the floor. So I just feel bad that she has no family. - So how would the money go from her account to yours, though? - That's what I'm confused on. But I see it, I see it in there. Because I didn't look. - Can I see? - I see it right on there. See, it shows me there. So I'm like, what the hell? I don't know. Like if I wanted to do that, I'd be doing it this whole time. It'd be great, I'd be rich. - [Harrison] $5,000, right? - The $5,000- - It has my name on it. - Right. - I see it now. I didn't check my credit account, but it's in there. - And how much funds were deposited from her to your Zelle? - That's what we're adding up right now. It's like $3,000. - And is that money still in your bank account? - It's not in there at all. It goes through the medical bills and through credit. Whatever it is, it's showing up on mine, so I'm going to have to pay her that. - Okay. - Which is fine. That's what I'll have to do. But like I told her, I'm going to recommend that she changes that her whole network, to change all her stuff out. - Let me just read you the Miranda real quick, just so we can keep asking you questions. - Yeah. - All right. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you- - Good Lord. - [Harrison] What? - That's scary, I don't like that. - [Harrison] Well, this is how the law works. We can't ask you questions and stuff without it. You have the right to remain silent. Do you understand these rights? - Yes. - All right, We can ask you a couple of questions. - Yeah. - Okay. So you're receiving these funds from Donna's account, right? - Yeah, that we just found out. - [Harrison] And you have Zelle? - Yes. - Okay. How long have you been with DCF? - Two years. - Two years. - This is my calling, to help the kids and stuff. - [Harrison] You were telling Deputy Kotowski earlier that, you know, you guys are on the same network. What do you mean by that? - Like, you know, when you go into somebody's home, there's a home network, you got to log into their WiFi? - [Harrison] Like a WiFi code? - So, like if I'm at her house, my phone connects to her WiFi automatically. That's what gets me nervous, though. Like if somebody can get in there- - [Harrison] Is she familiar with like how electronics work? - Kind of, sort of. - [Harrison] have you been teaching her? - Yeah, I have to try to help her like install stuff and do all that stuff with her. - [Harrison] All right, so you're free to go right now. I'll be in touch with you. - Okay. - But I'll probably have to get a search warrant for both your stuff, I'm going to be honest with you. - A search warrant? - [Harrison] Yeah, we got to figure out who took your money. - What if we just drop it and I'll bite the bullet and just have to pay her back? Do we have to do all that? - "Bite the bullet"? What do you mean? - Like I'll just take the blame for it and just pay her back. - Did you do it? - No, but it's in my account. So, obviously- - I mean, just because it's in your account, that doesn't mean you committed a crime, all right? - [Spenser] I know, but it's in my account. So, I mean, the money's not there. - [Harrison] Did you do it or not? - No. - Okay, so. Let's do a thorough investigation, all right? And if that means we got to get a search warrant and search your guys' bank records and all your transaction history, we got to do that, all right? I mean, that's the bottom line. Do you want to pursue charges or not? - No. - Okay. We won't get a search warrant if you don't want to pursue charges. - But I feel like I should. - I'm going to pay you back, so you don't have to. It's fine. - [Spenser] He's a witness. Yeah, he's a witness. - [Harrison] A witness to what? - That he said he'd pay me back. - [Harrison] I'm not attesting to anything. That's civil. If he pays you back and you don't want to press charges, that's on you. - And what if I don't sign this and you don't pay me back? - You know my whole family, I have little kids. - [Harrison] Ma'am, if he doesn't pay you back, right now and we're not, you know, whatever, then that's a civil matter. - I have all the time to help you. Why would I decide, "Let's screw Donna," now? - [Harrison] But I'm telling you, I mean, it would help the case if you do a statement and it would help the case if you- - Yeah, I want to write something down. I want to keep it on file. - [Harrison] Okay. And you don't wanna press charges, correct? - I don't want to press charges. - The caregiver tried his utmost to convince everyone he wasn't the villain in this scenario. And the innocent old lady was about to fall into his trap once again. However, the police were not born yesterday and could see through his lies. Little did he know that his game was far from over. - [Harrison] And you've never seen this before, you're saying? - The only one I saw was the other day, she brought it to my attention. And then I was like, I don't have the money. So I gave her $200 cash. I thought it was only 540. But I'm like, there's obviously a s**tload of them in there now. I'm like, "I'll bite the bullet and just pay you that money back." - So you've seen money in there before? What happened to the money? - So my money, I have automatic bills and stuff. So a lot of it pays for medical bills. - I can tell right from the get go that there's some weird s**t going on. Spenser, this isn't a hacking incident. It really appears that you were able to get her information and you send yourself money into your account. - Like I told her, I was like- - It's not about that right now. - No, it's fine. - Okay? It's not about that. It's about that obviously you have some issues going on with your family matters. With your brother or with your son having medical issues. Maybe you are in financial hardship, you saw this opportunity. Did you go into her account and take money out of her account and put it into your account? - Nothing intentional. - Have you ever done that? - No. - Can you go to your Zelle transactions? - Yes. - This don't look good, I'm going to tell you right now. - No, I know, absolutely. - Whatever you got to do, I'll pay you. - I mean if it's an accident, I mean, there's really no need to pay it back. - Well, it went through my account. - Well, you saw it yesterday. - And I paid her some of it back. - Right. - Yeah. - But all those transactions happened before yesterday. - That's the only one that we saw on her thing. - It said, "Zelle Spenser". - Yeah, but you got money influxed into your account on multiple previous days. - Yeah, but that's the one she showed me. - Right, but there's multiple, not just one. - Yeah, I know. - There's multiple. If you saw it yesterday, you would've had to have seen all the other ones. What's the account with the $20,000 in it? - Mine? - Yeah. - That's how much I owe my credit card. I'm like, if I need money, that's why we do a fundraiser. I don't need to, which is what we're doing now. - Let me ask you this. When we subpoena these records, nothing's ever going to come back to you where your IP addresses are used to transfer her money into your account? - That's what I'm saying. It could be, because I'm on her network. - Oh no, IP addresses are- - Device specific. - Device specific. - I'm not sure how, but, yeah, I guess so. So like I said, I'll pay her back that money. - It's not about paying back. We're talking about a criminal aspect here. Not just the "we'll pay you back" kind of thing. - Yeah. - Based on the paperwork that we have- - Yeah. - I'm saying- - Overwhelmingly shows- - Yeah. - Right. You said that your your child needs health care. Did you take the money from her account? - Not intentionally. - What do you mean "not intentionally"? - So tell me how you would've done it unintentionally? - I wouldn't want to do that. If I wanted I would've just asked her. - But how would you have done it unintentionally? - I would've asked her. Obviously that's why we do a fundraiser. - I understand what you're saying, but that's not what happened. Money came out from her account to your account. - Yeah. - Okay? That happened not unintentionally, that was very intentional. When hackers hack into things, they just don't put her money into your account. How are you going to be able to make it right? - Well, we have a fundraiser. So I can take the money from the fundraiser and send that to her. So am I going to have like a record or only if she presses charges? - I mean, what you're looking at is grand theft. - I know, that's what I'm saying. I don't want that. - Where does the fundraising money go into? - Facebook. - Facebook. - It's in a Facebook thing and it goes to my wife. - Then it goes to your wife? - Yeah. - Do you ever use her credit card? - No. - I don't even know. But it shows it's on there too. - There's definitely something going on. - Yeah. - We are probably 100% sure that you did all the transactions. - Okay. - On your own. That in itself, you know, you got exploitation. There's a bunch of crimes and stuff. - I don't want any of that. - So with that being said she wants an answer. - Yeah, I wouldn't know how to do that at all. That's why I'm like- - Spenser. - I'm not trying to get myself in trouble for something like that. - Well, you're in trouble. You're in trouble. Does that make sense? - Yeah. - Yeah, you're in trouble. You took over $5,000 from Donna. Where is the money? - That goes to bills. - Who's bills? - Mine. - So with the money that you received from Donna's account, you've already paid bills with that? - Yeah, medical bills. - For your son? - Yeah. - Did you use her credit card too? - No. - What is Dave's Incorporated? There's a transaction for Dave's Incorporated. I'm not 100% certain. I don't know what that is. She doesn't know what that is. I mean, did you not think like this would affect her lifestyle based on- - Yeah, that's why, like I said- - Her social security income? That's a pretty good admission right there, I think. He said he spent the money, we know that he spent the money. We'll give Donna all the information, because she doesn't want to see him go to jail because of the whole kid situation and stuff like that. Spenser, do you have a letter that you wrote? - Yeah, I was going to notarize it. - Where is that? That's what I thought we were doing today. I said whatever's on there add it up, it's in my name. - [Voiceover] Spenser shows a newly scribbled IOU to the deputies to convince them he meant to pay. - So this is the deal. You're a lucky person, because she likes you. - I know, I really am a good person. - Well, good people don't take $5,000 from they're friends or anything without asking. That's not a good person. She doesn't want to pursue charges, at least today. She doesn't want to see you right now, but she thinks that you'll communicate with her and then you guys work out some sort of an agreement. - Yeah. - If that doesn't happen, do you know what is going to happen? - Absolutely. - What's going to happen? I'm going to come arrest you. I'm going to get a warrant then I'm going to come arrest you for exploitation and grand theft. That's going to put you in a lot more financial hardship when you don't have a job because you've been arrested for two felonies. - I understand, absolutely. - And your child. However long you don't pay her back- - I'm not going to not pay her. - Okay, that's where we're at. - Thank you. - All right? - I appreciate it. - All right, Spenser. - Thank you. - Yep. - Thank you, guys - Despite her kind heart, Donna finally realized what had been happening all along. Just two days later she decided to press charges. Better late than never I suppose. A wise move indeed. - I'm thinking of prosecuting. He used my rewards money, he went into my savings account, he went into my checking account, and he went into my credit card. I mean, he was doing this when I was here. - [Officer] So what would you like to do, Donna? - I'm thinking of pressing charges. - [Officer] Okay. - I feel bad. - [Officer] You shouldn't. You should not at all feel bad. - I feel really bad. - [Officer] Someone took advantage of you. What's to feel bad about? There's no point in feeling bad for someone who only cares about the money in your bank account. - He already lost his job. - This is my calling. - [Officer] The repercussions for committing a crime is not losing your job, it's having criminal charges. That's his fault for losing his job. That's something he did to himself. - And I bluntly asked him, "Why did you do this to me?" And he goes, "Because of Parker." I go, "You could have asked me for some money, you didn't have to steal it." - [Wynn] Good afternoon, this is Deputy Wynn from the Flag County Sheriff's Office trying to reach Donna Welch - [Donna] Speaking. There's more things that I'm finding that he took. I had $176 in my bag. And when I went to the Dollar Store and I opened my wallet, I had a dollar in there. And then he took my Bed Bath & Beyond credit card. And I went to Target yesterday, I got a credit card, but it was missing. - Mr. Caretaker almost got away with his con, but soon enough he was forced to turn himself in. He was charged with felony identity theft of a person over 60 and felony grand theft. It's hard not to feel sorry for Donna, though. The person she trusted with everything turned out to be a scammer. Sadly, this isn't the end of the scammer saga. And the next one is even more vile. - After my last conviction, I said I'm going to do my time and, you know, fix myself. I will never lie to you. I don't enjoy it. I don't. I did that way too many times before. I'm not doing that at their age. - Okay. - I'm not. police officers were busy with their usual patrol when they were approached by a suspicious man dressed as a police officer. He offered assistance, but one look was enough for the real officers to sense something was amiss. They wasted no time in questioning his identity as an officer, which he swiftly denied, claiming to be a security guard. When asked for his security guard license, he had no answer. It was clear to the police instantly he was an impersonator and in serious trouble. - [Officer] The thing is when we came up on him... Hold on. When we came up on him, we thought he was a police officer, because he had a firearm on him, he had a duty belt. He had a thin blue line jacket on him. His car is a police interceptor car. Like he has rumblers on it. He has red and blue lights, you name it, the whole 10 yards, you know? Even the antennas, you know the police antennas? He even has that on his car but no radio. So I don't know. - [Radio] You can give me the serial number and I'll see if that's in the system. But I've yet to see if he has a permit and he doesn't have a permit. - [Officer] Okay, he doesn't have a permit to be able to carry a firearm either. He doesn't have a permit. - [Suspect] No, I don't. - [Officer] Okay. - You see when you guys turned on the red and blues. So those are basically the options that I have. - [Officer] For all the lights for you install - That's my car and I pretty much forgot that I had it like that because it literally has different setups. Like I've done that on a private property and it has like different options for colors. This is an install I did. And I've also done police vehicles as well. So, you know, it's literally something that I have for like, for example, if I go work on a car like I've done for DV units out of county, out of headquarters, I can sit there and say, "Well, if you want extra lights, this is what I can offer you." And then the same lights that I use for security, I can demo it to you, and, you know, maybe you can profit from it or me as a business. You know, future, you know, big business owner, whatever, you know, can probably profit from it too. That's all I wanted to say because I know what it seems like, but I can promise you it's not that. Because I'm done with that. I'm done with that. I've been clean for two years and trust me, Metro West wasn't for me Because it's not nice. Family hurts, I hurt, and I don't want that. I really don't. - We don't want that either. That's probably not the best option for anybody right now. Like I said, honestly I haven't made any decisions. - I understand and I respect that fully. And whatever decision you do make, I always respected it. I always did because, you know, I know what it seems like. - I mean it looks like you do good work. And I know the other detective when we were initially talking, she explained it to you a little bit. I wasn't around but I'm assuming she did. - She did, she did. She told me everything, what it seemed like and everything. - Anything on the car that would've said "security" or anything, it would've been like okay, yeah, I understand. Yeah, you have the different options, okay. - And that's why I want to wrap it. I want to wrap it for that same reason. Because I know it'll be less of a headache. Emergency lighting on the side. - Realistically, I don't know if she told you, but I mean you don't need the cage. - I haven't gotten a chance to that yet, to be honest. I bought the car with it and I haven't gotten a chance to it. The rear partition, I got it, because it had actually one to the trunk as well, to divide the backseat from the trunk. I was able to get that one out. - In the future I would do anything and everything to make the car not look like any of the police cars on the street. I understand the lights, that's fine. You're going to do a light set up, that's straight, no problem. But even if that means like moving a push car, or changing the rims, it's the little things that will never have this happen. - That's how I actually had it recently with those. - Yeah. - Just because it blended in better and it didn't stand out so much as a cop car. - Yeah. - I actually borrowed them from a car that I was working on. - That's probably a better idea. - You know, maybe something like that. - Yeah. - Definitely. - Yeah, because all the changes you made, whether you're trying to make it a demo car, make it as realistic to a police car as possible, that plus the duty belt plus what you're wearing plus, you know, all of that. - Well, I can understand that, you know. - [Officer] Sir, get your hands out of your pocket. Put your hands behind your back for me. - [Officer] Okay, I guess she made her choice. - I'm going to talk to you now. I'm going to explain your rights. Can you hold this for a second? Did you guys ask him if he's been arrested before? - [Officer] He said he had a criminal history. I didn't ask him specifically what it was. What is it? - [Suspect] I did stay a few times. - Okay. - Okay. So you didn't tell them the full truth, did you? No. That you've been arrested before for impersonating police officers? - [Officer] He kind of mentioned that slightly when he says he's not trying to do that again. - [Officer] Okay. - I was arrested when I was 16, 17 for impersonating. - [Officer] Did you tell her you had 13 felonies? Did you tell her you had 13 felonies? - I did state that I had multiple felonies for driving. - [Officer] So you're a convicted felon, is not supposed to have a firearm. - [Officer] Yeah, and you were in possession of a firearm when walked up. - And I got my G license. Well, I applied for my G license. - [Officer] You can't get a G license if you have 13 felonies. - [Officer] Because when we got here and we were talking to you initially- - So I was told that if I cleared my stuff out- - [Officer] Who told you? Because that's not correct. - Well they had told me that it was nonviolence so I wouldn't have an issue being a security guard. - [Officer] All right, hang on. Let's put him in the car. - [Officer] All right, come on. Let's go in my car. We'll figure it out now. But for right now, as far as I'm concerned, you have 13 felonies, you were in possession of a firearm when we walked up to you. - [Officer] Okay, let me ask you. We're going to tow your car because we don't want to leave it there, all right? Do you have any other guns or any other weapons in the car? You sure? There's no other firearm we're going to find? There's no other knife, bulletproof vest? - There is a vest in the car that I was using earlier today for the same event I was working. - Okay. - And it just says "Public Safety Officer" on it. - Okay, where is that one at? - I believe it might be in the back seat. - In the back seat? - Correct. - Okay. - And then if I'm not mistaken, the same gentleman that you spoke to today, he was working with me at the other event and he did a son of a gun or something like that. And I think there's a firearm in a case, though. - In a case? - In the car. If not, it would be the empty case. - [Officer] Samantha's with the car. - [Officer] Yeah. - [Officer] There's another gun in the car and he says it's in a case and it might say "son of a gun" on it. - I need to know because we're going to search the car. I don't want to miss anything- - [Suspect] There's no possible way that I could call my Dad? - [Officer] There's a vest. - The man had been at this game for quite some time, but clearly needed a reality check. However, trying to make a scammer realize they're wrong is akin to talking to a brick wall. - I mean, I wasn't doing anything wrong with the lights, though. I even showed you my business card and I showed you the Instagram and everything. - Listen, I totally understand. Listen, aside from that case with the gun and the vest, is there anything else in that car? - No, there isn't. - There's nothing else? - Shouldn't be nothing else, I promise you that. There's probably a knife on the passenger seat, but that's it. - [Officer] Knife passenger seat. - [Suspect] And that's for self-defense. - Now, let me ask you this. As far as tonight, you worked two events? - I worked from 9:00 AM yesterday, I don't know if you guys are familiar with Red's Car Restoration. They're off of 75 Street and 27th Avenue down by North Side. So they were hosting a raffle for three cars today, and I was working there since 9:00 AM. I got off at 10 and then I came over here. - And you were working in what capacity over there? - Same capacity. - As what? - As as a security officer. - Okay. - Again, my understanding was that I thought that I could, because even someone that told me that my record was not violent, so I wouldn't have an issue. I didn't know that just having a felony for whatever it was would screw me up. I thought they would classify like violent, non-violent and, you know, give a chance, you know? Allow people to, you know, fix themselves. That's all I wanted. That's it. - Let me ask you. The license that you applied for, the security license you applied for, was it for armed or unarmed? - For armed. - For armed. - And you still haven't- - I haven't gotten it by mail, the actual hard one. - Okay. - Have you gotten like an approval or disapproval or- - I haven't gotten no letter yet. And I've had that same address on my license for years. It's the one that I used. - Okay. - I was just hoping that that's something I'd be able to do because I couldn't be what I wanted to be. - Just so we're on the same page, what was it that you wanted to be? - A cop. - Okay. - I was an explorer when I was little and I wanted to be a cop. - Where were you on explorer? - From Miami Dade out of post 526 in Miami Lakes. - I was Miami Beach. - I was with Officer Lasmus over there and then I was with Randy Russell and Officer Kimsey out of North Side. - Okay. - And then after that, when my license started getting messed up, it was downhill from there. - What was it that you were doing? For speeding? - No, it was for stupid tickets. I was young. I got my learner's permit suspended. I didn't even ever get to get a license till maybe about a year or two ago. - Okay. - So I never did. And then I finally said, you know what, I've had it because I didn't want to take this trip anymore. I didn't want to keep going to jail, losing whatever I worked for. The little bit I might have, I didn't want to lose it. So I said "All right, I can't be a cop." I started doing the installs and that went well because I started, you know, making money from it obviously. Because I started putting work into it. It was a little bit closer to what I wanted to be, but, you know, knowing that I was safe. And then after that the guy that you spoke to, he told me, "Hey, why don't you do security?" And, you know, like that you'll be good. You'll make your money, you can do installs on the weekends. And I honestly thought I was good because I've never robbed anybody. I've never hurt anybody. All I did ever was drive and not listen to not drive. That was it. - Okay. - But I am wrong. - The lights that you have in the car, have you ever used them? - I have used them. I've used them in the past on Okeechobee. - Okay. - Over by Okee and past the turnpike. And the day that I actually used them, I made a video with a few cars there as well and FHP was by there as well. So I went up to them and I asked them, because we were going to do videos with the cars racing with lights and siren. And they said, "yeah," as long as I'm not trying to pull nobody over and there's no public traffic that I was okay. And those are videos that I have on my Instagram, videos outside of my house, videos of my other job that I have on the weekdays that is like a private parking lot. And, you know, when I get there sometimes in the morning I want to make my video because networking is the only way that I see that I'll be able to make it. - All right. And let me ask you. Today, you're working as an armed security guard here? - Correct. - And who hired you? - American Protective Service Group. - Okay. But they hired the company and then you're just- - No, they hired the company and I work for the company. Correct. - Okay. And do you work here often? - I was working every weekend, but I won't be able to do that now. I never wanted to go back. I never did. After my last conviction I said I'm going to do my time and, you know, fix myself. - Okay. - I will never lie to you. I don't enjoy it. I don't. Much less as a gay man. I would never enjoy jail like that. - Okay. - So. - Now let me ask you this. You said you've done like what? Been arrested before? - Yeah, yeah, I've been arrested before for license. Every time as a habitual I had to take the ride. It was the reality of it. - Have you been- - And I would tell them- - Have you been arrested for anything else? - I've been arrested before also for impersonating and it got dropped. I never got convicted for it. And also when I was younger, I also got arrested for it once because I had some amber lights on my car, and that got dropped as well because I was a juvenile. - Okay. - But that was it. And last time it was because the officer pulled me over and he saw that I had the same thing, a vest and stuff. And I told him, listen, I was working, that was it. - Like the stuff you have in there? And you bought the car like that? - So the car came with a partition. The car came with a spotlight, came with a push bar. The only stuff that I took off was lights that were on the push bar like yours that are red and blue. And I took those out and I added mine, which are the green and whites and amber in the push bar. The speakers and some antennas were on it. Others I added it because it does give it a better look. That was the only reason why. And I won't even deny it for me. I did add some- - You added them- - Yes, I did add about two of those. But it was to give it a better look. - To make it look more like a cop car? - I guess you can say to make it look more professional. - The man clearly had serious issues. It's rather ironic that he aspires so desperately to be a cop, yet he's never been one for following the law himself. - You should know better. - I do, I know better. I know what that carries. When I got that set up, I got told by several officers. And they told me, "You know what that is?" And I said, "Yeah, but you guys, I've done work to the cars, you guys know." And they even told me that it was risky. Just, again, I wanted to be able to have that available. - Listen, I totally understand. - And not in that sense. In the sense like, for example, you meet me and I so happen to come across you and I tell you I do installs and you tell me that you want to add some lights. I wanted to be able to offer the option if I came to do the install and you wanted extra lights to be able to show it to you, not on a video, but you know actually physically, "Look, you know, this is the light, this is what it can do." But I didn't think it would get me this, honestly. If I would've known I wouldn't have done it. - But you know that you can't have red and blue lights. - My understanding from a cop was that I can have them as long as I didn't use them. And that's why I had set it up to the amber and white, and, again, I had set up the red and blue for demonstration purposes only. Like, maybe at a car show to have some fun at a car show. That's about it, to be quite honest with you. - Okay. - That's honestly about it. Again, if I would've known, I can show you a video of how my car was before. I would've never changed it because it actually looked nice. I changed it to have that option. Because I started dealing with some cops in the install. So I wanted to be able to offer it, not just show up to the security guard and be like, "Look at my lights, they're amber, green." But also have the option to be like, "Hey, officer, look, since you know I do installs, I have red and blue lights. I would like to show them to you. Maybe you like them and you might want to get some." That was honestly the only reason why. - Then why'd you change the rims on the car? - It came with those. - It came with those? - I had changed them to the other ones like the ones on that car recently because I was working on a white one like that and it had those hub caps and I had put those on my car temporarily because I didn't want it to stand out so much. Because with those center caps it does stand out, but I initially got the car like that. - As far as you using the car, you only use it for when you are doing security? - Well, no, I use it also for when I do funeral escorts. Because also, again, I found out that you don't need a license for that, just a driver's license. I don't know if I'm right or wrong on that. That's what I was told. So I do use the amber white lights, I do use them for funeral services. - Okay. - Which I have it on my dash cam in the car as well that I can show you. That's about it. - You don't use the car for anything else? Not personal use? - Just personal use. And I went from a Crown Vic to that because of the installs. It was more convenient for me to take the wires, my tools, you know, if I need to take any lights that I might order and receive them for, you know, whoever be able to load them up and not have the issue of the Crown Vic. - The backseat of the car, it's caged in, right? - So when I got it it had this one and the one that the SUVs have that go to the back, I was able to take that one off when I did the install of the lights, but I honestly never got to this one. And as you can see, you will notice it because the wires are literally on the side because I couldn't even find a way to tuck it in and I just never got to take it off. - Okay. How long have you had the car for? - Probably going on two years now. - And you said the car's under your dad's name. - Correct? - It's not under you? - No. - Do you have any car under you? - No, I do not. - Why is that? - Because also within the havoc that I wreaked on my license, I also messed up my credit. So I haven't been able to take out a car under my name. - [Officer] He has a rumbler in the front. - Huh? - [Officer] He has a rumbler in the front. As far as the rumbler system in the front. The sirens? - The speakers. Yeah, I have that for horn. - Okay. - There's also sounds, other sounds in there as well, which I've used in the past. But mainly what I use it during escorts is the horn and the rumbler from when I'm going through an intersection so it can be safer for me. - You installed them? - Yes. - You installed them? - Yes. - They didn't come with the car? - No, no, no. I got the rumblers, I deal with a light brand called Phoenix. - Okay. - So I got rumblers from them, added dealer price and obviously I installed it. And my car obviously has one as well, yes. - Okay. As far as when you were showing us the lights earlier. You were showing us certain light bars and then I asked you if I could see the light panel, you agreed. - Correct. Because I honestly have forgotten, I don't know if you have my phone or not. I can show you on my Instagram the different ways that I can play with the lights and I have videos of all the lights in white and amber and red and blue, mixture of blue, white, you know, red, white because you actually can play around with the colors and I had forgotten that I had set it up like that. - When did you set it up like that? - I don't know, maybe about a month ago. It was a morning that I was at my job, at my full-time job. And I was making Instagram videos of the different colors. So I would just tap the color changer and I would do the white. I did a video of the amber, of the red, the blue, the red, amber, red, white, amber, white, amber, blue, you know, like you have different color combinations with it. - The man had an explanation for everything but that didn't mean he wasn't headed for trouble. However, his answers were becoming more intriguing by the moment. - As far as the computer that you have in the car? - That computer, I use it for a system called 9119 app, which it's like for security and stuff, for public safety. And they basically offer support for us for when we're working and they can dispatch EMS or you guys if needed. And I can log into a CAD system that they have on the computer. Because sometimes since they're out of state, the signal on the radios go out. So we have an option like when we're at a post to notate stuff on there to let them know that we can't communicate via radio. - And just verifying. You don't have a carrying concealed weapon license? - No, I do not. - Okay. You don't have a physical security license on you? - Physical on me at the moment, no, I do not. - And you don't have an ID from the company that you're- - I do have an ID from the company, the same ID he showed you, the only thing that changes is the badge, because his is gold obviously and mine is just regular. It says "officer" and that's it. - But you don't have it on you? - I do have that ID, but I do not have it on me. - Okay. - I don't because I do have it with the other shirt that we use sometimes for work. - And the only ID that you showed me today was the escort one, right? - Correct, yeah. It was the one that I gave you along with my driver's license. - And the badge you had on your belt with the magazine? - Executive Escorts. - That was for the Executive Escorts, it's not your security badge? - For this company, they haven't given me one yet. - And you said you've worked there for two months? - Yes. - Okay. Is there anything that I didn't ask that you think is relevant? - Not really, because I know at the end of the day, you know, it's inevitable. Just, you know, last time I got arrested was about four and a half, five years ago. And I truly decided to want to change, like, you know, find something to do, get out of trouble, stop driving. Like I even had to suck it up and ask my parents for help for a long time just so I wouldn't drive so I can have them help me. And I honestly didn't see this happening. Because it was never my intention ever. Like even when I got my set up, it wasn't my intention at all. And I do apologize if you guys were disrespected in any type of way, but it was never my intention to you guys. - You were very respectful. Tonight you were really respect. - I'd like to help you guys out. Like, you know, when I've had an officer approach me about lights or whatever, I like it. I enjoy it. - Okay. - But if I'm meant any type of disrespect, guys, I'm sorry. - No, you didn't. Let me ask you one last question. When you saw us approaching, you were inside your car, right? - Correct. - And then you stepped out? - I was inside my car because I was tired. - Listen, just breathe, okay. - I just parked because I honestly didn't see this happening. Like I didn't want it, I didn't see it. Like at 32 I got my learner's license suspended and when I got my license a few years ago, I was happy. - Oh, listen, I can tell that you're trying to do the right thing, but you're still- - Going about it the wrong way. - The wrong way. - And I think you know that you are doing it the wrong way, but you don't mean the ill intent, right? - I don't. Like I told you when they told me that my charges were non-violent because I did explain to them, I was like, "Look, I want to be security, but I have this in my past." And they were like, "Well, if it's non-violent, you know, it shouldn't be an issue." Because I told them, you know, it's been driving, but I didn't think that I would be classified as someone else like that. I thought being non-violent- (cell phone ringing) - [Officer] Hello? - [Officer] Listen, you got to be very careful right now. - [Officer] Right now she's interviewing him. Let me pass you to Vargas, hold on. - Just give us a few minutes and I'll come back and talk to you, okay? Would you like to speak to your family? - [Suspect] I'm not going to call them at this time and wake them up. I did that way too many times before. I'm not telling them that at their age. - Okay. - I'm not. - [Officer] Is there anybody you would like to call? A friend? Anybody? I'll let you think about it and I'll come and ask you, okay? - The man was charged with impersonating a police officer and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. - Thank you Detective Dale for sharing these intriguing tales. So, do you think these folks learned their lesson? Share your thoughts in the comments and I'll see you in the next video. Stay safe out there.
