[Music] the program was an idea that was developed in Florida by a fire department Iona McGregor fire district over on the west coast it really encompasses the empowerment of young women and it doesn't necessarily mean they have to be firefighters so we're giving them different challenges during the day and having them experience all different types of scenarios that they might end up with in their own life we did a little relay race where we went up two flights of stairs and then four flight the stairs and then we had to pull a weight that was kind of like pulling out a person from from a house of burning fire it's just been really fun my mom really signed me up and she did all that stuff but I really came out here just to show like my strength and how I do stuff and like how I might want to become a firefighter I really like the sledgehammer when you do the thing I like that one we're teaching them how to do a little bit of CPR how to breach some doors or make access to doors what to look for in a smoke fill environment how to react to that they're doing searches they're doing repelling off of the building some physical activities to kind of prepare them for not only the fire service but just being healthy in general I hope that girls leave with a sense of accomplishment some new friends realizing that it's okay to be scared in order to overcome your goals and just a sense of family that they have in case they ever need us they know where we are and they know how to contact us
