[Music]
stop stop on October 5th
2023 police in New Mexico were called to
a children's Youth and families
Department facility the agency reported
that children were behaving
uncontrollably screaming throwing
objects locking themselves inside
offices and assaulting staff members so
these girls are in custody um Vienna's
rights have been terminated the girls
are supposed to be in custody they are
on runaway status and we need them back
in um investigators have gone out to the
home and assessed it is unsafe which
means that we definitely we
can't um safy plan plus we have to
address the fact that we have now got
paint on our walls um they've been up on
the tables they're out of control tables
and we need to get her assessed she has
twice said that she'd rather be going to
oh no y'all ain't taking me nowhere do
you have proof of s say
that you know I there's no Pro proof you
proof you have Pro you have Pro we had
heard and we're worried about the safety
of these
girls doing nothing um can I report
something too they're letting kids live
here and the kids are like
doing like I have videos and pictures of
them living here they're they have guns
too they said they was going
to like and they live here sir and
they're not I don't think that's yeah so
technically can we
just
just department has been calling me when
my daughters were having an incident
like the one that got tied up all we
need to focus on is the fact that we
have these girls in custody they need to
come into what what are they going to do
going
no's no what happened to that where yall
said my mom could be my parents what
happened to that I don't know anything
about that no we were doing a fostering
connection thing and you said that it
would be great if my mom could be my
thing so I don't know paper what the
called but I have the paper about what
you
said I'm working on your paper I don't
know what's going on but I do know that
something is not
being completely honest with you you
know more about this situation than I I
from what I came here to learn from the
from the lady that I talked to her from
what I'm gathering that it sounds like
something got reported fly and then my
name is in it they're saying that I'm
having marks on me you're telling me
that your officers have to have reports
of me have me on their camera which I'm
telling you I not excuse me not going
them no I why won you ask the question
why they have kids here
they say I'm doing domestic walking on
the taable I was right here just talking
the whole entire time just walking back
and forth talking I wasn't stay at home
they're going to force you to get in the
car I'm talking about staying at the you
have to stay at the home yeah but they
can forc the car Poli you realize I can
get rides anywhere from anyone I want
right it doesn't matter police so even
if they do forces in the car we can just
always cuz I'm not going
tons of kids run away and they get away
successfully even Tomas Tomas ISB got
away every single time you guys will be
good I ain't going with him though you
don't have to go with him I said you'll
be good run away yeah I will I got a
whole another year if I could just stay
good for a whole another year like I was
last time then I'd be good I'll be
18 you still got clean more years so sir
no I don't I turned don't even 1 18
are yall leaving is it time for closing
it's time for them to go
almost go outside and continue speaking
along with pleas no Mom please don't
leave me I'm not please don't leave me
I'm not going to leave her I am not
going with you going to leave her I'm
not going to leave her I'm not going to
stand outside I'm done I didn't already
please don't leave me I've already heard
what he said I've already heard I don't
want to go again proven happened like
late in the afternoon so I can figure
out what my are I like my It
Works what needs to
happen mom they you to step out they
want you to step they excuse
meana you're respectful who are you just
tell me the the the adult people they're
fighting with the kids and the kids they
need to
standing say
please and now they want to fight with
the teenagers that they feel like they
a lot
of need Lear
Mom it's
not I want
to want you to be honest with me
okay do you want to hurt yourself no I
never said anything like this
just clean just listen to what I'm
saying
damn stop say yes or no no you want to
no no you want to hurt anybody else no
okay that's all I need stop asking me
questions wor about your
own this is my job if I have to ask you
a question I'm going to ask you a
question I don't want to go with him
it's simple why can't we just they let
kids do
[Applause]
whatever I don't know for certain I do
know that the girl
understand report according to them it's
nothing in this
m this is completely different and this
is why the I don't want to go with them
this is from 200
2001 and I'm telling you I've come back
into custody of my children because
they've sent but they're saying that the
police report is something different
this why the R so any information that
you need will be
the police telling me to go to the
police department there when I was
14 if you're not going to charge them
with anything then there's no need for
you to be here there's need for us to be
here I I think the only problem is mom
mom needs to leave cuz she's not a
custodian here she needs to go she
doesn't have custody over these three
she doesn't need to be here she ain't in
custody she's
19 are you 19 doing here
then get out of
here I'm not can't make you but you have
no business beh here
get cuz the issue is with with I guess
these two no I'm in the
inci I'm in the in you don't need to be
here you're
go me I got mom needs to leave and these
two need to do wherever they're going to
do it that's I'm going that's simple

no
TI Why do everybody keep touching me I'm
trying to
[Applause]
be was it locked
yes dude what the all right man we'll
figure it out
I don't
want know
know so those three girls one is missing
and these two that you're taking well I
I yeah I CAU the other one they were
they were talking to him and it's the
girl that that girl over there is the
one that called him okay are we going to
fix this issue on housing them here we
don't want to house them here or get can
we are we going to get anybody
incarcerated today can we if we have a
bed yes cuz this is this is starting to
become a major major major it is problem
you're the Are You The Watch Commander
that's supposed to call me back later uh
oh you don't have to yeah one of us is
supposed to call you you don't have to
you don't have yeah I'm here now now
thank you coming in person it's even
better yep no this situation cannot be
controlled we cannot control what's here
want stick around um I think we got it
brother you sure yeah I appreciate you
they cannot control it and it's like
this all the time well the thing is is
was was getting to the point we respond
here every day I know you do we arrest
them for something every day I know you
do and and there's no bed now now it's
getting worse my guys my guys are
getting bit by people we're now we're
having to physically run after them it's
so are these workers every day yeah so
something needs to happen so so here's
the situation that we have they are
refusing the placements that are offered
which I guess they can I thought I
thought they were D now I thought they
can re they I thought they have no say
we're trying we're trying so hard
there's no mail beds there might be
female beds in detention so we'll have
to let this man is the one you need to
talk to for that okay um there's no
placements that will take some of them
and we can't put them in we can't force
them to go because there isn't a medical
reason for them to go so legally we
can't put them in like an RTC a
residential treatment or a group home
because they're not medically need
needed this doesn't classify as
medically needed well her she's she's
Hospital material like like but all of
them habitually breaking rules
habitually breaking the law that's not a
that's not a medical issue they
something's not clicking like no it's
not and and that's the problem and that
and because they're over 14 they have
the ability to refuse Medical Care not
placement but Medical Care and so that's
why we can't do anything so when they
when they do act up where we can get
something where they might be detained
we try to call and get them detained but
now because the governor wants all the
gun people in jail we can't get them in
jail we're going to have to figure out
something because somebody's going to
get seriously hurt already and it's not
and it's not going to be us I guarantee
you that cuz if they keep on doing what
they're doing right now they are going
to get seriously hurt we explain that to
the kids every day and this is how they
act cuz like my guys are getting very
frustrated on coming out I so are we
we're scared we don't want to come to
work we don't want to come to work I
don't want to work here in
that I'm a licensed Master social worker
I don't want to work here with that yeah
it shouldn't it shouldn't come down to 1
2 six we have like 10 we have 10 police
units out here I'm happy okay but it it
shouldn't have to come down to this I
know that but we can't do anything with
them we're not allowed to put hands on
them we're not allowed to put them down
on the ground we're not allowed to do
anything I wish yall were because we
can't you guys are the only ones that
can do
that that's why we call because when
they get out of control like that we
can't help we can't control them all
right so and when they're drunk and high
we can't control them either so all
three girls under arrest right uh-huh
okay so two of them for Aro or what what
I know the one that ran is Aro for sure
that one's Aro and Battery against me on
me she bit me yep and battery on the on
the cfd worker okay this other one that
we handcuffed in here what is she under
arrest for I have no idea I was just
been okay she's just detained so she
didn't obstruct anybody or anything no
okay all right so we will release her
back to them okay since like no which
one the one that we handcuffed that was
in this building that's the one that
pushed somebody now wait wait wait not
not the one that was on the floor in
here but the one that was in this
building she pushed who did she who did
she push she pushed Teresa the one in
the in the ambulance so Teresa's at the
hospital yes Teresa Goodwin okay
somebody hey I need somebody to go to
Eastern go talk to Teresa goodwi she got
pushed by the girl that we handcuffed in
here and that girl was threatening
everybody okay the one in here yes all
right so we need somebody to go talk to
uh so the one that has your cups on huh
the one that has your cup cuffs on her
no uh those are actually rman cuffs okay
well she's in the back of this unit okay
right transferred her over there okay we
need else from us um no I think now I
think I think we got pretty handled now
okay I appreciate y man I appreciate you
all three teenagers were arrested and
charged with resisting arrest and
criminal damage if found guilty what do
you think would be a fair sentence share
