- Shoplifting is not worth the risk. And if criminals learn to gauge risks in school, they wouldn't be swiping lipstick in aisle 40. - Today, Detective Dale will take us through five cases that prove theft is not always committed by the needy. Sometimes it's the Karens. - There comes a point when your job as law enforcement becomes repetitive and boring. But you know what never gets boring? A shoplifting Karen. Those cases will always surprise you. cops were dispatched to a local Walmart in Florida when a woman walked out of the store with a cart full of items without paying. - Well, it's not really a game. - It's a game. - It's theft. - To you, that's theft though in the state of Florida. - It's fun, too. It's really fun. - Oh, going to jail is fine. Okay. - When cops found the suspect, Amber, in the parking lot, she didn't waste a moment and admitted to stealing. But you could never guess her reason for committing theft. - [Officer] So. - What's that? - [Officer] Okay. Is this your car over here? - No. - All right. Would you come over here with me? - Where? - [Officer] Over in this lane. - For what? - [Officer] So we're doing an investigation right now. Apparently somebody walked out with a -- - Cart and put it in a random car? - Yeah. - Yeah, that was me. - [Officer] Okay, would you come over by the car with us? - Whose car is it? - [Officer] What do you mean? - Whose car is it? - I don't know. - Me neither. - Okay, all right. So where's all your stuff you took out of the store and it in the cart? - I just put it, I put it in a random car that was open - [Officer] In a random car that was open? - Yeah. - [Officer] For what? - What do you mean for what? Because y'all was coming. - [Officer] Okay, so you just put all the stuff in a random car you didn't know? - Yeah, it's a game I was playing. - Okay. - Yeah. - [Officer] What for? - Just for the hell of it. - [Officer] Okay. You got any ID on you? - No. - All right. - I left it in the car. - Which car? - The random car. I don't know what car it was. - [Officer] What color was it? - Silver. - Silver? - Gray. Something like that. - [Officer] So you left your ID in some random car? - Yeah, my whole bag. All my. - All right, makes sense. - What kind of bag do you have? What kind of purse is it? - I think it's a Michael Kors. Can you please not stand behind me? Cause you making me nervous. - [Officer] I was here the whole time. You were? - [Officer] Yeah. The whole time. - Well, I'll be damned. What was your question? - What kind of purse did you have? - It's a Michael Kors purse. Can you go get it for me? - What kind of vehicle were you driving? - It's like gray or silver or something. - [Officer] What kind of make, model? - I don't know. - You have no idea what kind of car you were driving? - No, because y'all were coming and I just ran up to the car, it's a game that we play. It's called 21. It's basically you go and steal all that you can steal and then you get out without getting caught. I did it one other time then this time. But I got caught this time. So now I gotta figure out where my purse is and where my merchandise is because now I gotta give all my merchandise back to Walmart. - Well, it's not really a game, but -- - It is a game. - It's theft - To you. That's theft, though, in the state of Florida. - It's fun too. It's really fun. - Oh, going to jail is fun. Okay. - Well, I suppose, am I gonna jail? - Well, we'll see how much stuff you took. - It's a lot. - [Officer] So where's your car at? - It's real fun. - I don't know. - [Officer] Okay. - What's your name? - It's Amber. - Okay. - And I don't find it funny. I'm just very bubbly. - Okay. Did you, is the car yours or are you renting it? - I don't know whose car it was. - It's just a random person's car. - It's just a random car. Yeah, like, if you walk up to this car. - Okay, how about you don't? - You feel me? - No, no. - It's gonna be opened, or it's gonna be closed. You never know, you just gotta try it out. - [Officer] All right, go ahead and put your hands behind your back for me. - Can you hold that? - [Officer] I'd be kind enough. - [Officer] What's wrong with your arm Broken? - My pinky is. So be careful. Oh, wait a second. - We'll get that, we'll get that. - [Officer] We'll get, stop. - Do you have any leg shackles? - [Officer] I have. - Y'all gonna put me shackles. Are you serious? - [Officer] Well, you have a cast on your arm. - Exactly. And I got scraped up knees, too. - [Officer] No one said they're going on your feet. - So what are y'all putting shackles on me for? - [Officer] You got a cast on your arm. Too big for regular handcuffs. - [Amber] Oh, okay. - [Officer] We've got flex cuffs. - So, gonna stick these back here. (tie clicking) All right. They're not too tight for you? - No, it's good. - All right, let's go over here for a second. - All right. - You got anything on you? - Is that my phone that just fell? - No, that was a stick. - It's right here. - No, I don't have anything on me. - [Officer] Okay. So you're not under arrest right now. - All right. - You're just being secured so we can conduct our investigation. - Okay. - [Officer] Do you have anything else on you? - Like on you, in you, anything like that? - I got my vape. - [Officer] Do you have anything that say you do go to jail, that if you go into the jail and they find it on you later, is there anything like that? - No, a tampon that needs to be changed. You just asked me that question. - Well, you keep that. - How many times you got ask the same question? - [Officer] All right. - [Officer] All right, you said your name was Amber? - Yes, last name was McCann. - [Officer] McCann. - Yeah. - Two Cs? - Yes. - [Officer] All right. Can you spell it? - M-C-C-A-N-N. - [Officer] You got a middle name, Amber. - Dee. - [Officer] Dee? - Yeah. - [Officer] Put it in my glove. - All right. You're not under arrest right now. - You're being detained. - Okay. - All right. - [Amber] All right. - Despite her eccentric attitude, Amber seemed to be cooperating. But here's the thing about Karens. You can never guess what's next with them. And this suspect is no different. (Amber knocking) - [Amber] Hey, can y'all turn the air? Can you turn the air on? - [Officer] Yeah, turn the air on. - [Officer] I'll try. - [Officer] Yeah, she's gonna get that for you. - [Amber] Thank you. - [Officer] So you have a Michael Kors purse? - [Amber] Yes. - [Officer] And it's in the car? - [Amber] Yeah. All my in the car. - [Officer] Okay. What else is yours? - [Amber] Can I tell you something though? I didn't mean to lie to you at first, but it's my boyfriend's car. - It's your boyfriend's? - But my boyfriend doesn't know that I steal. - Okay. - And he doesn't know that I put all that in the car neither. - [Officer] Okay. - So I would be really in trouble with him. But that's the thing. - [Officer] So what kind of car is it? - I don't remember, 'cause it's a rental. - What color? - We just got the rental car. What color? - I thought you said it was someone random's car. - [Amber] Yeah, I know I lied to you. - Her boyfriend rented the car. - Hang on. - Yeah, he rented a car. - Hold on one second. - Hang on real quick. Before we go any further, okay. - [Officer] She's just gonna read you something, okay? - You have the right to remain silent. Anything -- - Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. - Well, we still have to read it before we can talk to you. - Okay, go ahead. It's like music to my ears. - Anything you say can and will be used against you in court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have him or her present with you while you're being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish. You decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand these rights as I have explained them to you? - Yeah. - Okay. You said yeah? - Yeah. - Okay. - All right, cool. So anyway, that's done. Like I was saying, yeah, that's my boyfriend's car. He rented the car and he was shopping and I had found all the that I wanted because they told me to play 21. - Okay. - And my boyfriend's older than me, so he doesn't play that. And I started playing the game. This is my first time playing the game. And I put things in the back of the car and I saw you guys coming. So I walked off. My boyfriend knows nothing about it. I don't even know where he's at. - [Officer] So he's here with you now? - Yeah. If I could call him, can I call him? - What's his name real quick? - Matt. - Matt what? - Campbell. - Campbell? - Yeah. - Just like the soup? - Yeah. - [Officer] Is that Matthew? You could call him Matt. - [Officer] Like his full legal name. - [Officer] What's his birth name? Matthew? - Yeah. Can you put? But yeah, he doesn't know anything about it. - Nope, stay in there. - I'm not getting out. I'm not getting out. My knee is scraped up. - [Officer] What's his birthday? - I don't know. Maybe you can ask him. - [Officer] How old is he? - He is 35. - You know his number off the top of your head? - No, it's in my phone though. - [Officer] Okay. - Can I call him? - Not right now. - Well, because I need to tell him I got in trouble. - We'll worry about that in a second. But right now I need to figure out how much dollar value you stole from Walmart. - Probably a lot because I took a lot of. - [Officer] Okay. - So basically you gotta put everything in the cart and ring it up and find out what the value of it? - Yep. - And then what's the next move. - [Officer] And then depending on the dollar amount, is if you go to jail or not. - Well, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go to jail because it's a lot of. - [Officer] Okay. So -- - What happens after that? - [Officer] Well, if you're over that dollar amount for felony, then you will go to jail for felony amount of shoplifting. All right. - Okay. - [Officer] You'll be booked in a Flagler County inmate facility. - Okay. - [Officer] And then whatever you do from there, bond out. Whatever. It's up to you. - All right. Can I please call my boyfriend? - [Officer] Not right now. - Okay. Can I talk to the other officer? - [Officer] To Deputy Sanford? - Sure. - [Stanford] What's that? - [Officer] She wants to call her boyfriend and I said no. - Can I ask why? - Because right now we're conducting an active investigation. - What is the investigation? I just told you. - [Officer] I still have to confirm everything. - He doesn't know that I stole it. - Okay. - So he's gonna get in the car and be like, what is this? - [Officer] Well, we we're with the car right now. - Y'all are? - [Officer] Yeah. - What car is it? It's a rental. I don't remember what car it was. - [Officer] Okay, well, we know what it is. - All right. But yeah, can you turn an AC on? - [Officer] I will. I rolled the window down for you. - All right, all right. - Just all this plastic. It's hard sometimes to get air back there. - Yep. The you looking at? - [Officer] So did he take off when he saw us? - [Amber] He doesn't even know about it. I took off when I saw y'all, and then I walked back up here because I'm like, well. It's either gonna be him getting in trouble or me. And he didn't even know anything about it. So I was like, I'm gonna leave. - You live in Sanford? - Yeah, I was in a hotel. - [Officer] So is it your boyfriend who lives here? Or you guys just rolled through? - He used to work out here. He just got fired. So we had a hotel room. - [Officer] Okay. - Yeah. - [Officer] So? - So he came to shop. We came to shop, but they told me to play a game. T told me to play a game. - Who's that? - My demon. - [Officer] Okay. - [Amber] So he told me to play a game called 21. And I played it, and then I got caught. - [Officer] Okay. - [Amber] I have psychological problems. Like I have mental issues. - Like what? - Like bipolar, anxiety, depression, all that, and schizophrenia. - Okay. - Yeah. Do you take -- - So do you have an attitude on me or are you good? Because you asked me questions, but it looks like you got an attitude. Are you good? - [Officer] Am I yelling at you? - In fact, you got attitude with your little prissy a*s. Blank, blank. - [Officer] I'm not yelling at you. - Okay, but you got an attitude. - This is just how I am. - Well, then change it, because you meet people like me off duty. - Okay. Is that a threat? - No, it's not. But I'm just letting you know how the real world works. Because you're a hard a*s with that on but you're not without it. - Oh. - [Officer] Ha. - [Officer] Did we already, is this her purse? Her wallet? - [Officer] Yes. - [Amber] What's in the bag, sir? (door thudding) - [Officer] What's in the what? - Close the door like that again you stupid b***h. - [Amber] You are not hard. And that's not your purpose to be an officer. - Thank you. Huh? We signed up for it. - Amber wasn't wrong when she said she stole a lot of stuff. The demon who told her to play the game seems like a hoarder. You'll understand what I mean when you see what's in her cart. - [Amber] Take your glasses off. - [Officer] We good? - [Officer] Oh wow. Just fell out. Look at there. - [Amber] Hey! - [Officer] All right. - [Amber] Y'all are gonna get in trouble for this. - [Officer] So is your boyfriend still inside? - [Amber] He has to be. Can I call him? - [Officer] Yeah, (indistinct) - [Amber] Can I get some water? I'm on medicine. Sir? - [Officer] There shorts on here. (woman chattering) - [Officer] Nope. - [Officer] She doesn't like me. She has a problem with me. It's crazy. - [Amber] I wanted to surprise him. - [Officer] I mean, yeah. - [Amber] Excuse me. Can you take these off while I'm in the car? - [Officer] Can't do that. - [Amber] Yeah, but my pinky. It shows me you have an attitude with me. (car engine booming) - [Officer] Great. - Oh wow. And she stole from Walmart. Woohoo. Roll the window down, it's hot. Can you take this off of me? (officer groaning) Oh my God. - [Officer] Jesus. (Amber crying) - [Witness] With red hair. (Amber groaning) (Amber crying) - [Officer] Hey, look in there. Thank you for the thumbprint. - Right here. It says 925.08. - [Officer] That's the year when both of my kids. (Amber thudding) - [Officer] Probably looks like a stolen one. - [Officer] Some w**d in here. (Amber screaming) - Excuse me! Can you loosen these please? - [Officer] I can't loosen those. I have to cut them off. - Can you take 'em off back here, though? - I can't. - I'm already back here, and my pinky's broken and it's taking the, I have blood clots and it's breaking my circulation. - Move around in the back seat. - I can't, I'm too big. I know, but my circulation's being cut off. I have blood clots, I can die. My blood clots are in my lungs and it's breaking my circulation. - [Officer] I went through the bag. - [Officer] Hey Sarge. - [Sarge] Yes. - [Officer] I see you're busy. That key fob next to your hand. Can you just hit the door for the trunk? - [Sarge] Yep. - Suspects often blame their stupid behavior on mental disorders like Amber here, but what cops find in her trunk would prove she's just another Karen who's fluent in storytelling. - [Officer] Well, that's interesting. - [Officer] Yep. - [Officer] Interesting. (device buzzing) - [Officer] Did you spin it? Don't spin it. This is on the no number to open it. - [Officer] It's not. I checked. - [Officer] Pipe. Glass pipes. - Nice. - [Officer] Oh, nice. - [Officer] And then if I had to guess. - [Officer] Grinder. - No, we got white c******s. We got white c******s, bubble pipe, and a safe. - [Officer] Let me see? - Tube. That's one. This has white c*****l in it. Like small, small amount but they're white c******s. - [Officer] We gonna go with m**h, this is? M**h, this is? - M**h. (glass clinking) - [Officer] And another one. - [Officer] Well, don't break it. This is just -- - Very small parts of that. There's definitely some stuff. This was wrapped in this red towel where it's gonna go back in. - [Officer] I'm gonna put these in the car. - [Officer] Maybe it's not schizophrenia. If you're smoking m**h. Oh. - [Officer] Another safe. - [Officer] Patches? Nupronephrine. - What is that? - Yeah, Suboxone. - [Officer] There's names on them. - [Officer] It's her name. Her name, all right. - What's the date on them, though? Oh. - [Officer] That's hers. - [Officer] Here's another one. - [Officer] We got w**d in the front. We got probably m**h in the back. - [Officer] This is good, though. - [Officer] It's got her name on here, so whatever's in the back I would attribute to her as well. - [Officer] Well. Damn. - [Officer] I don't know if we can get into that. - I shouldn't say that. Very inappropriate of me. Matthew Campbell. - [Officer] Matthew Campbell. - What is this? Nazapomalamala? - [Officer] Is that why she didn't want us to go in the car? - Probably. This one's not open. (bag rustling drowns out speaker) - [Officer] Take a step, man. - You said steps. - Watch behind you. Equal opportunity. - What's that? - [Officer] Ready? (safe thudding) - [Officer] Watch it. - [Officer] Yep. - [Officer] Okay. (objects thudding) - [Officer] Oh, that's good. There's nothing in there. - [Officer] Gonna make a quick phone call. - [Officer] Check 'em? - [Officer] Ten four. - [Officer] Ask her if she wants to tell you the combination. to the safe. - Four ten four. (cars beeping) - [Officer] Ms. Amber, do you know the combination of that safe back there? - What's safe? - [Officer] The safe that's in the trunk. - No. - [Officer] So you don't know what's in it or whose it is? - No. - [Officer] Okay. - He doesn't even, hey, he doesn't even have a safe. - [Officer] Well, there's a safe in the trunk, so. - That can't be his. What's all that stuff on the top of the thing? - [Officer] What? - What's all that stuff? - Stuff that was in the trunk. - Whose safe? That's not his safe. He doesn't even own a safe. - [Officer] Did you have anything in the back of the car? In the trunk? - I had my purse and the stole. - [Officer] Okay. - But he doesn't even own a safe. - [Officer] Okay. There's a giant safe back there. - All right. - [Officer] What is this? - Is that a light safe? That's a -- - That's a lighter. - Well. I'm rolling, but I'm muted. - That's nice. - [Officer] Okay. - All right, fun box. Zatrinaline. - [Officer] This is one of those boxes that Sergeant Weaver found behind a license plate one time. - Yep. - Kind of. - Yep. - [Officer] Yeah, it's Hideki. - If I was a betting woman. Ruzivitalin. We're gonna have to do pill id just to verify. - [Officer] Yeah. I mean, they look. - They look like what bottle is -- - [Officer] Be careful because you got m********a residue at the top lid. - Yeah. - Is that m********a? We also got white powder. (car honking) - [Officer] I don't know what that is. - Got your notes? - [Officer] Hot powder. - [Officer] But we got white powder. I got some of the. - [Officer] More powder - [Officer] It's just powder. - I got some swabs. - [Officer] Matthew Camberger. - Chances are though, if there's baggies like this. - [Officer] Intent? - [Officer] We got more pills. Oh, sheet. - [Officer] Here, we'll flip it up. Oh. - [Officer] Yeah. That's a negative on that. That's right. - Now a Walmart heist looks like the punchline to a bizarre joke, because we got an A grade burglar and a dealer here if her inventory is anything to go by. - [Officer] 25, 30 bucks a piece. If they're real. - I'm not going prison. (Amber sighing) I gotta do, I don't know. Not happening. - Oh, good job. Good job, good job. (Amber thudding) - [Officer] Should I go take care of that? - [Officer] You wouldn't do nothing but ignite it. - [Officer] She's kicking the window. - [Officer] Oh. - [Officer] You got a problem back there? - Yeah, I'm uncomfortable. - What's that? Okay. - Can you please take these off of me? - [Officer] I cannot. - Okay, can you readjust them? - [Officer] I can't. - Why? - One time use. - Well, can you put a different one on then? Because my on it's cutting my circulation off. - Just from zip ties? - I have blood clots. You're not understanding me. - Scoot your knees that way. - [Amber] Okay. But my blood circulation is going off. - [Officer] She got all sorts of problems. - [Officer] It all started when she got arrested. - That's wild. It's crazy how that works. - [Officer] Here we go. - SMD. - [Officer] There's gotta be traffic in Powell. - [Officer] I have a scale in the car. - So does she. - [Officer] When it starts feeling uncomfortable, move around. You got the whole back seat. But if you kick this and break this, this is gonna be another charge. - [Amber] All right. - It's not c*****e, so I'm gonna guarantee it's m**h. - I got everything else. - Oh, she's got h*****h. H**h. - Oh. Oh, you're good at that. - [Officer] Take that for a second. Black powder. We got -- - A lot of white powder - [Officer] C*****l and -- - [Officer] Oh, shh. - [Officer] More c*****l. - Well. - Thousand and 98. - 1098? - Yep. - [Officer] It's a pretty decent amount of c*****l m**h and other n*******s in the car. Okay. - I told the other officer I don't know anything about it. - [Officer] Okay. Well, I was just giving you an opportunity. We do have n*******s detectives that can talk to you. You might be able to better your situation with the state. If you want to talk to them, you can call whenever. - I don't know anything about it. - [Officer] Okay, thank you. - [Officer] C*****e, m***s. - [Officer] We need a better place to test all of this. - [Officer] I gave her the opportunity to talk to a detective. She said she doesn't want to. - Right now. - [Officer] I can't even afford this stuff. Platinum. - [Officer] Wanna make a bet? - [Woman] No. - [Officer] All right. This is a lot. - [Officer] Hang on, there's more. - [Officer] Photograph this stuff. Send it to RTCC and see if they can run it and see if there's been any recent thefts. - Okay. You want me to, I'll get a picture of it in here and lay it all out. - Hey, before we start moving stuff, did we photograph everything? - No! (Amber groaning) - [Amber] Need an officer, one in my car. - [Officer] Where's your car at? - [Amber] Hey, this is really jerking on my arm. - [Officer] Okay. You shouldn't have done what you did. - What? What did I do? - You wouldn't be in the back of a cop car if you didn't take all this stuff. - [Amber] Can I at least stretch for a second? - Yeah, we're gonna go over to my car. - My boyfriend's starting to come out. Like, it's really hurting my arm. It's jerking my arm. - [Officer] So where's he at? - [Amber] I don't know. Probably shopping. - [Officer] We've been out here for like an hour and he hasn't called or anything. - Oh my God. I don't have my phone. Can I have my phone? - No. - Can y'all loosen these? - [Officer] I told -- - [Officer] I just adjusted it now. - Can I just search for a second? - Yeah. You got a couple of seconds. Then we gotta get you out of here. - It just really hurts. It's like cutting off my circulation because of my pinky. - So turn your hand. - [Amber] Where? - There you go. - Like that. - But it's still hurting my arm. - Okay. There's nothing I can do about it. - Can y'all just take me to the thing then? Take me to jail? - That's we're going. - [Amber] Awesome. - Amber was slapped with multiple charges. Among them were possession, grand theft, and trafficking. At least Amber had a reason for her foolishness, that is, her substances. But imagine stupid being your default setting with no substances whatsoever. Like our next suspect. - [Woman] God, please. Please help me this time. - Nope, you're done. - If you're going to be dumb enough and get caught while shoplifting, at least have enough respect for the cops not to try to fool them or lie to them. - It's Rena Ceballos. - [Officer] Why are you lying to me? Why are you lying to these officers? - I think I might have a warrant. officers were summoned to a local Walmart in Roswell, New Mexico to investigate a possible shoplifting. - [Officer] Come here. Come here. (radio beeping) - [Woman] Come over. - [Officer] This is force 22. Come here. (gear clanking) (woman crying) - [Woman] Leave it. Please don't. Please. I'll leave this time. - No, you're done. - [Woman] Please. No, please, no! (woman crying) - Please! - Don't move your hands. - [Woman] Okay. (woman crying) Please. - Don't move your hands. - I'm sorry. I said I'm sorry. (woman crying) Can I get untied? I can't breathe. - Ten four. (indistinct) detained. - [Woman] Please, I can't breathe. - [Officer] Don't move your hands. I'm gonna put these cuffs on. - Okay. - If you fight me, you're gonna get hurt. I promise you. - [Woman] I'll won't fight you. (radio voice warbling) - [Officer] Negative. Just one. (woman crying) - [Woman] Can I get help, please? (metal clinking) (woman crying) (keys clinking) - [Woman] Ow, ow. - [Officer] Move your hand. So I can lock this cuff. - [Woman] Okay. (woman crying) (siren blaring) - [Officer] Come on. - [Woman] Wait. (woman groaning) - [Officer] What's up man? Stand right here. Turn around. Face that way. Just don't let her move that way. - [Woman] I won't move now. - Once in the handcuffs, it was time for some basic questions, but our suspect here thinks the cops were born yesterday. - [Officer] Anything in your back pocket? - [Woman] All of mine was in my jacket pocket. Can you see if my ID fell? - [Officer] Well, you threw some stuff. So did you throw it? - No. There were in my pocket. - I watched you throw some stuff. - No, everything was in my front, my jacket pocket. - [Officer] Okay. You got a key, bro? - [Officer] Yeah. - [Officer] Can we take one off so I can get this off? - [Officer] Yep. - Adriana? - Yes. - I unhandcuffed your right hand. Wanna place it on top of your head? - [Officer] Hold here. I gotta go get your card. - [Officer] Okay. See what else she threw. Still in your car for now. If you wanna meet me, my car's right there. Can you see it? It's like in the middle of the parking lot over here. - [Radio Voice] 24. Can I can I get a (indistinct) - [Officer] Adriana Sanchez. (radio beeping) - [Officer] Did she come up at all? - Until 2000? - Quit talking. - I'm sorry, I'm just going off. - [Radio] Negative. - What's your name and date of birth? - It's 2000. - [Officer] If you don't give us your name. (radio voices warbling) (indistinct) - When's your birth? Was that 2001? - No, 2000. - 2000. - What? - Adriana Sanchez, right? - Yes. - If you think she was a first timer, you may want to re-watch her arrest because who has a fake name always at the ready. This woman didn't pause a beat before lying to the officers and she's not done. - [Officer] What's your name? Adriana Sanchez. - What's your date of birth? - Adriana Monique Sanchez. - She slipped this? - Yeah. - [Officer] Of 2000? - Well, it's Rena Ceballos. - Okay. - [Officer] Why are you lying to me? Why are you lying to these officers? - I think I might have a warrant. - [Officer] Okay. What's your real name? - Rena Ceballos. - [Officer] Well, you're being charged with this identity too? - No? - Yep. - [Officer] What's your date of birth, Rena? - [Officer] What are her charges? (radio voice chattering) - Please. No, don't charge me. I never done that before. (radio voice chattering) - [Officer] Last name is Ceballos, first name Rena. - [Officer] Does she hold one? - [Officer] I don't know, but take her back to the front. - [Officer] Okay. - Wait, back to the front? Why? - [Officer] Because we have to do an inventory, all that good stuff. So have a seat. - [Officer] Adriana. Hard to throw these away, okay? We can't put these in at the police department. So your vape and your lighters, I'm gonna throw 'em away, okay? - Expectedly, this woman was charged with shoplifting over $500, resisting an officer and concealing her identity. Well, this won't be the last time you or the cops get the pleasure of her company. But you know what's worse than a liar? A spoiled child in the body of a fully grown woman. Yep. That's our next suspect. - [Woman] Why are you doing this to me? Please stop. - On one calm evening of a suspect named Rakia Ray Spillers added some spice by trespassing into a local grocery store from where she had been barred. - Get off of me. - [Officer] We need to get her on her feet. - Get off of me! - When the cops arrived at the scene, they were met with a woman who refused to believe that shoplifting could get you arrested. Stay in school kids. - I'm sorry, you said what? - We caught her stealing several times. We do not have paperwork from you guys. She always bails out of here. Have you guys told her not to come back? - Yes, yeah. - Okay. - Yep. - [Officer] I'll need a statement in reference to that. So. Hi there, Randy with Olympia Police Department. You're being detained right now. You're not free to leave. - Why? - [Officer] Can you come here please? - No. - [Officer] Don't go out that door. You're under -- - It is an emergency. You're under arrest for trespassing. - No. (siren blaring) - [Officer] You're under arrest for trespassing. - No, I'm not. - [Officer] Stop. - I'm not under arrest. I'm not under arrest. - Do not resist. - I'm not! - Do not resist me. - I'm not under arrest. I'm not under arrest. - [Officer] Oh yeah, you are. Get down. - I'm not under arrest. - Down on the ground. - I'm not gonna use force on you. You're under arrest for resisting now. Stay here, stay here. Stay on the ground. - No! - [Officer] Stay down on the ground. - No, you're imposter. - [Officer] I'm not. I'm the police. - No, you're not. - [Officer] Okay. Stay on the ground. - [Rakia] You're a liar. Liar, no. You're being hypnotized, you can't. - Stay on the ground. - You can't arrest me! - [Officer] What's your name? None of your business, get off of me. - [Officer] Nope. - [Rakia] I'm not a suspect. You're a liar. You're going against your job. - Stay on the ground. - [Rakia] No, he's a liar. He's a liar. Mr. President! He's a liar! - If positive affirmations had an instant effect, this woman would've been walking free. Unfortunately for her, in the real world, being a privileged Karen can land you on the floor with handcuffs. - [Rakia] Get off of me! Get off of me! - [Officer] We need to get her on her feet. - Get off of me! Get off of me! (woman crying) - [Officer] We just got handcuffs. (woman crying) - [Rakia] No! No! Oh! Oh! Oh! (woman crying) - Just breathe. - [Rakia] I'm not supposed to be under arrest. I'm pro-LC. They gave me the earth and the moon and the stars. They said I could come and get (indistinct) but all I had to do was go to the bathroom. - I think my body camera's under her. - I did not go to the bathroom. - [Officer] You wanna go on their side? - [Rakia] They gave me the universe. - That's gonna be 33. Let's keep her down. - [Rakia] The President of the United States gave me permission. It's on the site. It's on the website. Ow! You're sitting on my ankle. - [Officer] Take a breath. - No, he's hurting my ankle. - [Officer] Okay. - And you don't even look. This is why you guys are disgrace. And I am gonna tell the President of the United States because that is who I'm in contact with. - [Officer] You're being audio and video recorded. - You. They're liars. And I had permission from the President of the United States. And these people who are harassing me and have been stalking me are the reason that you're here. And the reason I've been getting kicked out of everywhere. I'm not lying. Stop hurting my foot. You are being rude. See, right now, you're being hypnotized. There's red in the air. And I didn't do this to myself. I'm not a liar and I'm not being mean. Ow, ow! - [Officer] That's it. - [Rakia] You just did that on purpose. You don't do that to me. I'm not mean. I'm retiring. I'm not mean. Please be gentle. No, I don't wanna be under arrest. I wasn't supposed to go to jail. That's what the President of the United States said. I didn't do anything wrong. I really did not do anything wrong. I have white coat syndrome. I have white coat syndrome. (indistinct) And Stephanie Corvin Johnson. They think I'm trying to do something against them. It was a lie. I didn't do this. (woman crying) I'm the one who was helping. I'm not a liar. No impostors. - [Officer] Yeah. - [Rakia] I'm not a liar. - The police had no option but to drag her out of the store like a child whose parents refused to buy him the new electric car in the toy section. - My right leg, left leg. Oh my God. Get her away from me. - [Officer] Get the other side. - [Rakia] Please get away from me side. - [Officer] Other side. - [Rakia] Please get away from me. No. - You have a helmet? - [Officer] Yes. - That one's hurting. And that one's on tight, too tight. Please don't. I had a vision. Please don't do this to me right now. Can you help my leg, please? No. - [Officer] Press that. - [Officer] Go off. (woman crying) - [Officer] Don't know how well it's gonna fit. That's a small helmet. - [Rakia] Why are you doing this to me? The President said I didn't have to, that I didn't have to go. I wouldn't have to go to jail anymore for the rest of my life. And he wasn't lying because of what happened to me. There's red in the air. You can't do this to me because there's red in the air. That means can you stop? - [Officer] You too? Okay. - [Officer] Let's get her out to a car. - [Officer] Okay. - [Rakia] You guys don't even notice when you're being hypnotized. - Got her arm? (woman crying) - You guys. This is (indistinct) too. No, I am not. This isn't my fault. He said I wasn't gonna go to jail for the rest of my life. Oh my God. Why are you doing this to me? Please stop. Please let me go. I don't, I'm not supposed to go to jail. And they promised. It's not a lie. You were hypnotized in way because of those girls. Now put me down and let me go please. That's what happened. - You may feel bad for this woman because she clearly has some mental issues. But don't get ahead of yourself. This woman had been warned multiple times before as revealed by the employee at the store. - [Rakia] The President of United States said that I wouldn't have to go to jail for the rest of my life. Because of what I did for the fight. Please. - [Officer] You get her feet in, I'll go around. - Ow. Please. It's not a lie. They just said a couple things and then out. And then it went. Ow, my leg. Come on! Ow, ow. - There you go. There you go. (woman groaning) - [Officer] So this was found in her bag? - Yeah, the ice cream's ours. - [Officer] Okay. - I could scan the other ones and tell 'em that they're ours. - [Officer] Yeah, if you want to, let's do that. - Yeah. But I definitely know she picked up, yeah, that she put a couple things back, but then she ran back in. - Okay. - And she was kind of all over the place. - [Officer] So she definitely had the ice cream - In her hand, yeah. - In her hand. And that was found in her bag. I believe, so. - Yeah. - [Officer] Trespassed from here, too. - She was verbally trespassed by Greg a couple of months ago. - Once. - [Officer] So she's been trespassed verbally twice, but never by us. But that doesn't matter. - Nope. - [Officer] He can positively identify her. - With a statement of that. - As the person. He already did on body camera. So. - Yeah. - [Officer] So obviously, the person that came out was the person we were talking about. - Yeah. - The flyer that you showed me. - Yeah. - And you guys are willing to pursue charges? - Yep. - Okay. What happened a couple months ago? - On that flyer, one of my employees saw her put on nail polish on the aisle. And she told her she couldn't do that. - That she didn't purchase. - Yeah, she didn't purchase. She was just doing it right in the aisle. - [Officer] Okay. - And she stormed off. So they trespassed her. - [Officer] Okay. - Then when I trespassed her, she had came in, she was in the bathroom for probably an hour, two hours. - [Officer] An hour or two hours? Okay. - Yeah. It was really hard to get her out. I recognized her. I was like, oh, I'm sorry, you're not supposed to be here. - From the previous incident you told me about. - Yeah. I wasn't there for that, but I have the feeling. - Okay. Right. - Oh, it's the same person. So. - Yep. - Trespassed her. She got really upset, started cussing around. - And you physically told her, you're trespassed. You're not willing to come back. Do you remember what your words were? - Essentially? - I just told her don't come back. We'll call the police. - Don't come, okay. - Yeah, I just a lot of F b***s. - Okay. - Came from her. So. - Okay. - And she came in today - [Officer] And then she came in today. And then can you tell me what you saw happen when she came out of the bathroom? - When she came out, she saw you immediately. You told her she was under arrest and she bolted and went for the exit. Exit has a timer on it. Can't open immediately. - Did the door, did the alarm go off on the door? - Alarm did beep, yep. - [Officer] Okay. - Spillers was arrested on suspicion of third degree assault, second degree burglary, and resisting arrest. - Some believe that everyone deserves a second chance. Even the worst of the worst. But when suspects mess up multiple times, punishments can be severe. Like in the case of our next suspect who apparently didn't learn her lesson the last time she had a run in with law enforcement. - [Officer] You are detained. Let's go on inside. - Why would I put bags in her purse? Wait, don't touch me. - Stop. Stop. - Don't touch me. - Okay, let me go. - Stop. - Don't touch me. Don't touch me. - The woman with the fake name is back, and I'm convinced she's a serial stealer with a criminal history as Andrea Sanchez. She thinks she's in a cool crime movie except she sucks at committing crimes. - [Employee] When there's like someone to watch you, man. in Roswell, New Mexico, police were dispatched to the local Walmart during an ongoing shoplifting incident. The staff happened to already have the suspect's identity in their records. - [Employee] She is in like the men's underwear. She's concealing right now. So it don't get too close. Did you see her? When there's like someone to watch you, man. - Our suspect just sauntered out of Walmart like she'd completed a five star heist in Grand Theft Auto. When the cop shows up, she's going to attempt the most painfully unconvincing, clueless act ever seen. - [Woman] Hi. - [Woman] Hi. - [Officer] Hello ma'am. Let's go inside. Let's go inside. - Bags in a purse. - [Officer] Let's go inside. - Why would I put bags in the purse? - Let's go inside. - For what? - You're already detained. Let's go inside. - Why would I put bags in a purse? Wait, don't touch me. - Stop. Don't touch me. - Stop. - Okay, let me go. - Stop. - Don't touch me. Don't touch me. - [Officer] Do you wanna go to jail? - No, I'm gonna go inside. - So stop. - No. - Can you please let me go? - No, no. - Please let me go. - Absolutely not. - Please. Why? - Stop. - Why can't you let me go, dude? - Stop. - Please let me go. - [Officer] Stop. - Let me go. Let me go. - I don't want to throw you to the ground. - Please let me go. - [Officer] I don't want to throw you to the ground. - Can you please just let me go, please? Ow! Oh my God. You're hurting me, let me go, please. - [Officer] So stop. Stand up. - You're hurting me. - [Officer] Don't kick me. - You're hurting me! - [Officer] Right there. Right there, don't move. Do you understand? - Yes. - [Officer] Thank you so much. Perfect. Thank you so much. No. Nope, absolutely not. - [Adriana] You're hurting me. - [Officer] Okay. Don't fight. - [Adriana] Okay. Can you? Go leave, dude. Dude. - All right. Bring your knees to your chest. We're gonna stand up on three. 1, 2, 3. You wanna grab that stuff? - [Adriana] Okay. - No. Can you loosen me so I can walk, dude? Oh, God. - Stop pulling away. - Dude, loosen your grip on me. - Nope. - [Adriana] Dude. Loosen your grip. - Your know what? If we're gonna do this, I'm just gonna sit you in the car. - [Adriana] No, dude. - [Officer] Okay. - [Adriana] Like, there's no need to have me that tight. (machinery beeping) - [Officer] 2-10, I got one detained. Okay, so as of right now, you are under arrest for resisting, evading, obstructing. - [Adriana] Dude, you're too tight on me. - [Officer] And then. - [Adriana] Like, I apologized. You're too tight. I would've let go. - Nope. - [Officer] When I say stop, and you don't stop, you pull away. - Well, you freaked me out. - [Officer] That's resisting. So you are going to jail for that for sure. - [Adriana] For what? - [Officer] For resisting, evading, obstructing. - You were tight on me, dude. - [Officer] Doesn't matter. - Seriously? - I told you to stop. You didn't want to stop. - When you grab someone like that, what do I say? - I told you to stop and you didn't wanna stop. Sit down for me. - I've had that done to me before. - Sit down for me. - What do you expect? - She and her trash can were safely dragged back into Walmart where the real clown show will begin. If you want to take notes on what happens when you don't learn from your mistakes, start now. - [Officer] What's your name? - Adriana Monique Sanchez. - [Officer] Adriana Sanchez. All right. So the reason why we're here, first off, is because we're investigating a possible shoplifting. Okay? So now when I tell you to stop, that you're detained, and you keep ripping away from me. - I'm sorry. - Then you're resisting. - I'm sorry, you freaked me out. - [Officer] Okay. So whenever an officer tells you to do something -- - I used to get hit, I'm sorry. - Well, I apologize for that. But when I tell you to stop, and you're detained and you keep resisting, then you get charges. Okay? So we're gonna go over some stuff and then we'll see what's up with that. Okay? Two ten on channel two. Ten four. I didn't know if I was getting through. It's gonna be last of Sanchez, first of Adriana. You said last of Sanchez, first of Adriana? - [Adriana] My middle name is Monique. - [Officer] Do you go by Monique? - [Adriana] No. - [Officer] Are you from Azul? - Yeah. Do I have to go to jail for restraining? - You're going to jail, for sure. Hey, is channel one ten eight? Oh, okay. Is it ten eight now? Oh, I'm sorry. My bad. - For real? - [Officer] Yeah. You got last of Sanchez. First of Adriana. (woman crying) Okay. That's what she said her name and date of birth is. And she said she's from Azul. Are you lying about your identity? Okay. I'm gonna give you. Say it one more time, okay? I gotta have something that identifies you. If not, you could be charged with concealing identity. So unless you want another charge, either you tell me your social or you tell me your real name if that's not your real name. What is it? - [Officer] Rena Cevados? Ceballos. - So you know you're not supposed to be here, right? Cause you should have been told that you're not supposed to come back. I don't know if you ever were, but. - [Rena] They didn't ban me. - [Employee] They never told you? - [Rena] You never banned me. Like, I know I got in trouble here, but you didn't tell me that I was banned or nothing from you. - [Employee] Okay. I'm gonna explain this to you then. - Apparently this woman wasn't aware that shoplifting can get you banned from the outlet. She's either extraordinarily dumb or has a lot of courage. - [Officer] All right. So. What I'm gonna do is I'm gonna have you sign this and then I'm gonna go put you in the back of my car. 'cause I gotta, because I got other stuff I gotta do in here. You have a warrant. - I don't have a warrant. - [Officer] You do. And that's what it sounds like. So stand up. - [Rena] Can you tell me what it's for? - [Officer] I'm not sure yet. They're gonna confirm. All right. Are you left or right-handed? - Right-handed. On the way out, I think like you could go in the restroom or something. Just like put like toilet paper (indistinct). - [Officer] We'll get that figured out here in a little bit. Okay. Do that. - [Employee] So this just must means you can't come back to Walmart. You can't go to Sam's. Oh no, I'm sorry, ma'am. - [Officer] Sorry, ma'am. We're going to that one. - [Rena] Did you think the toilet paper real quick? - [Officer] We'll get that figured out here in a little bit. - [Rena] Well, it's just 'cause I don't wanna sit in blood. - [Officer] Well, we don't have any female officers that can go into a female bathroom with you right now. Do you have anything on you? That I need to know about? - Just my makeup. - [Officer] Is this actually yours or was this? - No, no, that's mine. - For sure yours? - Yeah, that's mine. Here. - [Officer] Anything else? Anything in your bra? - No. - Nothing for sure? - No. - Okay. I'm gonna use the back of my hand. I'm gonna go around your waistband real quick and then your pockets. Okay? Do you have a belt on? - [Rena] No. - [Officer] What is this right here? Is it part of your jeans? - [Rena] Jeans. - [Officer] Just a little bit more. Okay. Is that part of your pants too? Lift your hands up a little bit. All right. Go ahead and come over here to my wheel. Face the car. All right, go ahead and get in for me. - There's no way you could take the handcuffs off since I'm sitting in here? - [Officer] What's that? - There's no way you could take the handcuffs off since I'm sitting here? - No. - Or put them in front of me? - [Officer] No. If you need to sit sideways, you can, but I can't take the cuffs off you. Okay, I'm gonna turn the AC on just a little bit for you, okay? - I just wanna say thank you and we appreciate everything you guys do. - [Officer] Well, thank you ma'am. I appreciate it. - And my heart breaks every time I hear you guys being disrespected and appalling. - [Officer] That part comes with the job. - Yeah, - The other part that's sad. - Yeah, but nowadays it's just way too much. - [Officer] Absolutely. I agree with that. Thank you so much, ma'am. (car door whooshing) Either or. - She was charged with shoplifting and resisting arrest. If you think this woman sucks at shoplifting, meet our next Karens, who had the worst excuse for not paying for items at Walmart. - [Officer] I have one more pair. I'll put you both in handcuffs right now. It's too early for this. It's not even 10 o'clock in the morning. Haven't even had my coffee yet. - There are plenty of movies on partners in crime. Now, you'll see an example of the worst partners in crime. They turn on each other the moment they get caught in the act. - [Officer] With c***k c*****e that you were, that you originally had in that orange medical bottle. - Absolutely not. I don't smoke c***k. I'm sorry. officers were called to a Walmart in Florida over a suspected theft. At the scene, they were met with not one but two suspects. - [Officer] Stand over by the car. I'm not gonna ask you again or I'm gonna put you in handcuffs. - I'm trying to talk to. - [Officer] Stand right over here. It's a simple thing. Just stand next to the car. - [Woman] Keep going. - [Officer] We're gonna escort them back to the LP office. - [Officer] All right, let's go back to the office. You gonna stay here or you gonna leave? - [Officer] Okay, come on. - You too. - Hey, (indistinct) those bail bonds. - [Officer] Take care. You might be going with them. - [Officer] Come on, let's go. - When we got that stuff, I was just walking by. They told us because we brought bringing stuff up. It stopped. The thing stopped working. So boom. - [Officer] I'm gonna take this off here for a second. Okay? Let's go this way. - [Officer] Make sure you can't (indistinct). - [Officer] Let's go. - [Woman] What about me? - [Officer] We're gonna be taking it right up here. Right by that sound system. - [Officer] Have a seat. We're gonna look right now. She just rolled something behind that box. - I just threw an empty bottle away. - Have a seat right now. - It's an empty bottle. - Have a seat or you're gonna go in handcuffs. - Have a seat, thank you. - [Officer] Have a seat or you're gonna go in handcuffs. - I just threw an empty bottle away. The f**k? My empty damn bottle. - [Officer] My patience is wearing thin between the two of you. Okay? So I have more than one pair. I'll put you both in handcuffs right now. - My empty pill bottle. - It's too early for this. It's not even 10 o'clock in the morning. I haven't even had my coffee yet. Okay? This was found by the pumpkins. We need to look at the camera to see who dropped it. It's three pieces of crap. - [Officer] What? - [Officer] There's a camera right there. - She found it. - [Woman] Yeah, that's fine, thank you. - [Officer] By the pumpkin? - [Officer] Yeah. - [Officer] Probably what was in the little bottle. - [Officer] Let me, let's get one statement from her real quick. - [Officer] You're right. - [Officer] The camera's like right over the top. - [Officer] I'm gonna talk to her just outside. - Who? - Her. The one in the black. - [Officer] Wearing handcuffs? - Sure. - Yeah. She's already ditched the pill bottle ones. That was my (indistinct). I have blood pressure pills. - [Officer] Get up. Come on and stand up, talk to me over here. All right. - [Officer] You throw those (indistinct) - [Employee] Yes sir. - [Officer] Why are we here? - I got the stuff and I rung it up. Some of the stuff didn't go through. So the lady came and said -- - [Officer] Who's that? - The lady in the yellow. She stopped, I guess she stopped the machine from ringing stuff up. That's what it said. - Okay. - So she said the machine is not working. - [Officer] That was at the original register, right? - Yeah, we have to re-ring everything up and at that point I got aggravated, very aggravated. So that's when I failed to communicate, and as you can see on the video, I was running up everything. Everything. Everything that would ring. - [Officer] Why is it? - When she started putting stuff in the buggy and I said, I told her that hasn't been rung up. She said we have to re-run everything that's in the bag up again. And that's what happened. - [Officer] Okay. What about the items that were found in your purse? - Now, yeah, she put those in there. Like she had the other ones. - [Officer] There were items in both of them. - Yes, I know. She put the ones in my purse and also she had stuff too. I don't know what she had. - This woman had all the plans to throw her cousin under the bus and walk away. But the officer saw straight through her act. - [Officer] Let me cut in here, okay? Because they have you on video and I'm just gonna tell you right now. Okay. Of all the officers at DPD, I've worked probably a hundred of these things before. I've been here for five years. Okay? - Right. - I've been working retail thefts since I was a little itty bitty officer. - Right. - Okay. And I know what a retail theft is. I know what they look like, and I know when people are trying to hide it. - [Officer] You're on camera intentionally not scanning items. That's the first thing. Okay. - Intentionally. - Intentionally not scanning items. - I didn't scan the items? - [Officer] Yes. - I scanned every item that I touched. - [Officer] So she tells me that there are multiple items that you didn't even try to scan. What am I supposed to explain? - This is what I did. - [Officer] You didn't just forget. - No, I picked those items up and put 'em on the thing. Yeah, the camera will show you. She grabbed -- - [Officer] I know the camera will show me. - And put 'em in the bag. That's totally fine. - [Officer] Then why didn't you guys scan 'em, then? - She grabbed, you can see it on video. She grabbed them and put 'em in my bag. - [Officer] Who did it? - Mia. - [Officer] So you're saying she didn't scan them? - I don't believe you showed me. See, if the lady said we didn't scan a couple items, something had it not been scanned. - [Officer] Okay. - [Officer] So neither of you scanned. How many items did you get? - I scanned every item I touched, and you can see that on the camera. When I put the items on the thing. I thought she scanned it. When I looked at it, she put it in the bag in the buggy. - [Officer] Listen. - Because it was already in the bag. I'm gonna tell you right now. I don't ask questions that I already don't know at the least. - I understand what you're saying. - Right. - But you'll see me on the camera. - [Officer] I'm telling you right now. That camera is gonna show what I know it's gonna show. - So it's gonna show that I intentionally not scanned the item? - [Officer] Let me tell you something. I come here probably three times a day. You know what the most common thing that we do? - What? - [Officer] It's people not scanning items intentionally. - Oh yeah. - They do. I'm telling you right now. What they do is they'll take things out, make it look like it's scanning. And then it'll be like, you know what, oh, I forgot to scan whatever it was. - Like that's not the truth. - I have money to buy it, but that's not the truth, you know? - And like I said, I got over a thousand dollars on my account. Like she paid shopping for the kids. - [Officer] But that's not the truth. You know that? - What's not the truth? - [Officer] You didn't pay for those items. - I didn't pay for those items? I paid for the items that I scanned. - Well -- - That's correct. - [Officer] What about the items you didn't scan? - And I didn't push the buggy out the store. - The first suspect blaming her cousin is precisely why you shouldn't commit a crime with family members, or at all, actually. Because that's not the only blunder this woman made that day. - [Officer] What about the c***k c*****e in there? - C***k c*****e? - [Officer] That c***k c*****e that you originally had in that orange little medical bottle? - Absolutely not. I don't smoke c***k. I'm sorry. - [Officer] No. Then whose is it? - Not mine. - [Officer] If we watch the camera -- - You can watch whatever you're gonna watch. I do not smoke c***k. I'm sorry. And I sure enough don't f*****g sell it. Period. - Listen. I got you literally throwing a pill bottle. - I threw my pill bottle away 'cause my took my last -- - [Officer] Why would you throw it away? - It's empty. I took my last blood pressure pill when I came in. - [Officer] When did you take it? Today, this morning when I came in here. - So you threw it -- - I had a drink in my hand. The camera's gonna show you. I had to drink my Mountain Dew. I took my blood pressure pill, and the bottle was empty and I threw it. - [Officer] You must think I've was born yesterday. - You wasn't born yesterday. You was born whenever year you was born. But that's what I had in there. My blood pressure pills. - [Officer] No one I know. - Who? - [Officer] Who's trying to take illicit drugs is gonna throw an empty pill bottle that didn't have something at some point. - Because -- - You said he threw it -- - She was gonna search me anyways. I flipped, that's why I threw it away. - Why are you gonna get rid of it? - She might assume like you're assuming now. I took my blood pressure pill. - [Officer] Why are you gonna throw something away that's perfectly legal to have? - My pill bottle is illegal to have? No it's not. (phone ringing) No, it's not. - [Officer] How is that not illegal if it's your prescription? - I take 15 different medications, officer. - [Officer] I'm telling you right now. - It is in my purse. - [Officer] You don't think that doesn't look? - Well, if it looks obviously strange to you, I mean -- - In my line of work, that's what we call a clue. Right? - Okay. - [Officer] You literally threw a pill bottle out as she says to get back here. - I passed the garbage can and I said, oh well, I passed the garbage can. So I just threw the bottle out. 'cause I knew she's a female officer and she was gonna search. - [Officer] Come on. - That's just it. I mean. - [Officer] You're really gonna tell me that? - I definitely won't stand for this. - [Officer] I'd rather you be honest with me. But you're not being honest. - I am. I'm being honest and responsible. What do you want me to say? It's my bottle? - [Officer] Normal people, listen, normal people don't throw random pill bottles out. - The second woman's responses will make it clear that these two are engaged in a fierce game of betrayal Olympics. - [Woman] Washington. Washington. - [Officer] So we already know why we're here. Okay. So here's the deal. - You just said skip scan. That's what. - [Officer] Huh? - I ain't skip scan nothing. I just bought pepper. - [Officer] You didn't skip scan nothing? - (indistinct) running up groceries. - [Officer] Then why did we find all this stolen stuff inside your purse? - You find that in my purse. That ain't my purse. - [Officer] That's not your purse? Whose purse is it? - That's her purse. - [Officer] Which purse is it? - They got -- - Describe it to me. - The price rang. They got her, I didn't. (indistinct) That's her purse. It is. - [Officer] Come on. - My purse -- - [Speaker] Subscribe, homie. - [Officer] So when we go back on the cameras, and it shows you select the items. - My purse is brown. - Huh? - My purse is brown. - [Officer] I know what your purse looks like - Okay, she's the one that stole it in my place. - Okay. Well, why are we here then? This is all just a big misunderstanding? - Grab her skip scans that she owes here. - [Officer] So that being said. - Well yeah, but I just get y'all done. - [Officer] I'm trying to get the truth because no one's working with me. I've tried working with the two of you. - You have to tell them (indistinct). - [Officer] Okay. I work with those people day in and day out. When they tell me something, it happened. Cause every time that they tell me something, it's verified on video. They don't call the police if something didn't happen. - Okay. - [Officer] Okay. I know that 'cause I've gone to court for them many times. - I have to pee so bad. - [Officer] You can wait for a second. - I have a weak bladder. It's very. - [Officer] You can wait until the female officer in there and she could probably take you in a minute. Okay. But listen to me. Everything that she told me, it happened. Okay? So what I'm asking for is for you to tell me the truth because you're gonna be on camera, skip scanning items. And then -- - I walked with her. I wasn't in here shopping. I rode with my mom to the store. They was taking too long, but I came around. And they rung up a register, and whatever I didn't, they stopped ringing up. It's up there. And they re-rang up the stuff. So I started to help her. She was getting the stuff and I was putting the in the bag - Okay. - And that's it. - [Officer] When did she throw out her c***k? - I don't know. I don't remember that she had c***k. - [Officer] Okay. - We picked her up. - [Officer] Who is she to you? - That's my cousin. - It's your cousin? - I spend for her. - [Officer] How often do you guys see each other? Cause you don't just come to Walmart every now and then and hang out. Not often? I'm pretty sure you'd know she was smoking c***k. - I don't think she smoke it. She might smoke it. - Unless you smoke c***k? You don't smoke c***k at all? You sure? - I'm not. - [Officer] Then whose c***k is that? It's not some random person that just threw it away. (woman mumbling) - [Officer] Huh? - You see, I'm trying to (indistinct). - [Officer] Yeah, we will see it on camera. - I've seen it. I don't see anything. So I was there. - [Officer] Yeah. She threw it. - See if she threw it, I don't throw. - [Officer] You ever heard the saying if it looks like a duck, it's probably a duck? You ever heard that before? Have you ever heard that before? - I never heard it. - You know what that means? It means if you're looking at something, if it is what it is, it is, right? - Maybe your eyes are wrong. That's all I've got to say. - As clueless as the two seemed, the Walmart employee was sure what she saw. - [Officer] All right. - For $20 stakes, three of them just. - [Officer] When you were watching on camera, did it look like she was intentionally trying to bypass the scanner? - Yes. We also noticed that there were some, I think there were neck bones. There were like three of those that she literally didn't even pull out to scan it. She just handed to her to, you know. - [Officer] So she did not only skip scan, she didn't even try to attempt to. - Didn't even try. - Okay. - So at that point, that was it. Once they got through the last point of sale, it was actually out through the second set of doors, I was on the sidewalk and I greeted them and said who I was with asset protection. That there were items that she did not scan, blah, blah, blah. - [Officer] Did they just keep walking? - She tried to, but I had put my leg in front of the cart so she couldn't, and she had the receipt and the EBT card and she was like trying to hand it to me. - [Officer] You printed the real long receipt, correct? - Yeah, the really long receipt and the EBT card. She goes I paid for it. And she goes, I'm gonna go. I'm like, no, you're gonna stay here. Cause I knew the two unmarked cars were to my right. And as soon as they were just gonna leave the cart and continue walking, that's when the fellow officer flashed the lights. - [Officer] What's the grand total? - $306.70. - [Officer] Okay. - Inside the office, the suspects will continue to dig a deeper hole. - Y'all I'll do it to me every time I get -- - I can see us doing it to you. You gave us the wrong information. - [Officer] Kenisha. - I can give you my license, right? - [Officer] She was trying to hide the fact she was on -- - No. - She didn't to be -- - I don't want another (indistinct) - [Officer] Listen, listen. I even showed you my screen when I put my notepad up. I showed you and I said is this the correct spelling of your name? - [Kenisha] You didn't show me. - [Officer] In fact, I even asked you, and I spelled it for you. And then I asked you for your initial. - [Kenisha] Guess what it is. - [Officer] So. - [Radio Voice] Two or three? - [Officer] That's ridiculous. - Not confusing. Your mama gave you a name and a date of birth. You know that. That's why you didn't know your social security number. That's a red flag, you know that, right? Who's white folks? 29 year old does not know their social means they're lying about something. - [Kenisha] I don't know my social. - [Officer] Well, obviously you were lying to us about that. She knows. - [Officer] So when you were in high school -- - You tried, you almost had us. - [Officer] I mean, well, Here's what would've happened. - [Officer] We saw that you were looking at there. - [Officer] Cause you would've gone to jail anyway. And at the jail, they're gonna take fingerprints. They're gonna come back saying that you're a completely different person. Right? - So you wasted -- - [Officer] So I mean, it it wasn't gonna work anyway. - And you have another charge, too. - Both suspects received multiple charges including petty theft, felony theft, and resisting without violence among others. - The utterly hysterical encounters you just witnessed are only a drop in the bucket of insanity that law enforcement officers are forced to handle every day.
