T my Put your hands down. Oh yeah. Love that. One thing's for certain, being in law enforcement isn't boring. I will do anything for you, daddy. God damn. He looked at me and said, "I'm not Poppy. You're my uncle, right?" All right. You know what? Forget it. I am a nerd. Show it to the body cam. I am a nerd. Today, Detective Dale will take us through five cases where suspects force a laugh out of the most stoic cops. As law enforcement, we are trained to maintain professional conduct during investigations, but some suspects are just too entertaining to keep a straight face. After all, it's hard to stay serious when you're watching a suspect turn a routine arrest into a circus. The job may be serious, but some people just aren't. Nobody's trying to kill you. You didn't just spray there. Dealing with mental health patients is always tricky for law enforcement and officers try their hardest to apply best practices, but some suspects don't make it easy. Someone needs to use the restroom. Can you believe that happened? She's so 85. On October 25th, 2021, Tulsa police officers were dispatched to a nonprofit home improvement store regarding complaints about a woman who had locked herself in their bathroom for over 4 hours. The employees wanted her gone, but the woman refused to open the door, even when threatened with pepper spray. Yes. Hey, please. No, LH. You're not You're not tell the police. Can you open the door? Clearly, the woman was dangerous with the aerosol spray and a lighter and two cops weren't enough to deal with possible outcomes had they opened the door forcefully. However, it had now been 5 hours and both officers were getting impatient. Come on. Let's wait for Let's wait for Burns. So, you're going to get pepper sprayed and that's going to be a good time. So, just to let you know, either you open the door or you get pepper sprayed. Let it roll. Oh, you didn't see suspicious activity with a 4minut time. This is going to be so hard. That's her car. Had some problems. And you could have came out and talked about it. We told you that. And now we need uh control because that's her car. Oh, cool. The keys were on the floor. The woman was identified as 70-year-old Ladonna by the EMS who tended to her chipped teeth and other injuries from the fall. But they also shared crucial information. Ladonna had bipolar disorder. While her situation was certainly unfortunate, Ledonna had several chances to give up and leave the premises. If not for the officers, then at least for the sake of her dog, whom she calls her baby, left locked in the car for over 5 hours. Oh, your dog. This is your car, right? Yep. There's a dog in there. So, she was in the bathroom for 5 hours. They asked her to leave. She said no. Then we asked her to leave. She said no. And we had to force into the bathroom to remove her from here. She tried to set the bathroom on fire. She had a lighter with like the spray make her go to the damn hospital. Yeah, she had a lighter with the spray like spraying it at the door and at us. So, she's get to go to jail now for probably arson, trespassing, obstruction she wouldn't leave, resisting all that stuff. So, yeah, that's that's where we're at now. So, yeah. [Music] 49 South 49. Is everything okay with my baby? Yeah, it is now. It is now. All right. Do we have the key to that? I put it right here. Yeah, that's not even the 57th Street. You're probably going to lose your car. Yeah, I did. The woman may have calmed down for now, but it was just a front. The female officer showed foresight in calling for a caged car. As the moment the cops attempted to place the woman in the unit, she made it clear that her threats of burning down the building were far from empty. You know how old I am? She was born in 51. So you can do the math. Oh, he's quick. Did you want to be a mathematician or now? That's my dream. Is it really? You're 70 acting like this, Lana? I know. Isn't it? You're too old. [Applause] She was arrested on several charges, including trespassing, obstruction, and more. Liddona was dangerous, but not nearly as much as Edward, who's basically immune to a taser. Outside here, I'm screaming at God. Why are you screaming at God? In love. What's that? In love. You're in love? Yes. Okay, that's good. Edward is not scared of tasers because he's high on love. Wait until he hears about pepper sprays, though. We need you to get up and move or you're going to come with us. What? Do not get aggressive with us. I ain't understand. On June 30th, 2024, police were called to a Wisconsin residence where a man was refusing to leave his sister's home after experiencing a mental episode. According to the sister, he had a knife and had already done enough property damage to make a home insurance agent break into a cold sweat. When officers confronted the man, they quickly realized that reasoning with him was about as effective as trying to explain taxes to a toddler. Hello. What's going on? Did you call, ma'am? Yes, I want him removed from this property. Okay. What's going on? He is very He has rearranged my mom's whole house. Okay. He cannot stay here. It's my other brother's house. Okay. And he was just released from jail the other day. Okay. Cuz he barricaded himself into a motel room. Okay. So, what did he do today? Here he's screaming and hollering. Her central air won't work no more cuz he broke it in there. How did he break it? It just won't work. I know. But did he like Did he like hit it or smash it? He should not be here. He's a defender. Okay. And the school's right up this hill. Okay. I'll go talk to him. Is he he's out here? Yeah, he's out there. Okay. Hi, Ed. You got some security guard? I do. No. What's going on today? I don't think he wants to survive. Okay. Were you uh yelling and screaming inside at all? Hell no. I've been outside. Okay. No, he was screaming at me outside. Screaming I'm outside. Outside. Okay. Yeah. Can you shut that off so I can hear? I'm outside. I see you're outside. Were you yelling at her outside here? Screaming at God. You know that. Why are you screaming at God? In love. What's that? In love. You're in love? Okay, that's good. Um, unfortunately though, you can't be screaming outside if it's causing a disturbance and and I didn't disturb anybody. Well, you disturbed her and that's that's why I'm here. She She called us. She didn't call you. She did? Yeah. Spot didn't call you. What? Dispatch from downtown did not call you. I know what you're talking about, Ed. Can I see yourself speaking? No, you can't. Oh, there's a real police. Yep. That's a real sheriff. Thank God. What's he going to do to you? He's not going to do anything to me. I don't know. So, I don't know why we keep coming back here, Ed. To have You come back for no reason. You chased me all over. You arrest me for no reason. I'm here because they're claiming you were being disorderly. They didn't sail me. Who let themselves out of there? I w They were right behind me. I don't know what you're talking about, Ed. What about that room you built? I didn't build any rooms. You know, for real. Are you feeling okay today, Ed? Yes, sir. You are sheriff. We were here yesterday because of you. You're not. You're lying. You may have forgotten, but I was here yesterday. And you? Yep. I was here. So, we can't continue to keep coming back here because you're I don't know why you causing disturbances. I haven't said I I wasn't here when you said anything. But they're claiming that you were out here yelling and screaming at people said you weren't here. Right. I don't understand what you're trying to say. You hang out with him for a minute. I'm going to talk to mommy side. The man was identified as Edward, a convicted felon and registered offender with a police record as colorful as a bag of Skittles. No wonder his family wanted him gone. But when words failed to get the message across, officers turned to their trusty taser, only to be shocked by Edward's supernatural resistance to getting zapped. Uh, I'll work out getting him out of here. Okay. Thank you. So, Ed, um, according to everybody inside, you can't be here any longer. Yep. So, do you have you have a place to go? Yo, I can't get there tomorrow. Okay. Well, we're going to be here until you're you're leaving because you can't be here anymore. So, go ahead and collect your things and you can start heading to wherever you're headed to. Still got your room of quality. Go ahead. Go ahead and collect your things, Ed. I'm getting them right now. I just want a scarf. What's that? Oh, yeah. Well, she just told me that she wants you to leave. She said you Well, my name's not Ed. She said, "I want Ed to leave." I don't think she said that. Do you have anything in the trailer there? We're not going to sit here while you smoke a cigar. You need to get up and collect your things and leave the property. Sexually harassing me. The alternative is going to be to go to jail for disorderly conduct. Back to jail for no charges. Oh, disorderly conduct is a possibility. I am not calling you up. You know what I'm saying? Well, I was called here because you were yelling and screaming at your sister, creating a disturbance. That's why we were called here. And we're willing to let you leave if you have somewhere else to go without going to jail. But if you're refusing to leave, then you're going to go to jail. I'd rather not do that. So that decision is yours. But I'd like you to make a smart decision and just get up, collect your things, and and go wherever you want to go. I think that sounds pretty reasonable. Unfortunately, you don't have a while. I wanted to think, but I I know where I'm going to go. You said you had a place to go, right? Well, you take you don't think about our tennis shoes and you think about where you're going to go. I'm trying, but you keep interrupting me. Well, you need to move your body. Why are you starting to get me? I have done something wrong. You arrested me last time for nothing. I didn't I've never arrested you for anything. We need you to leave while we're here. Why don't you pack while you think? Why don't you pack them up while you figure out where you're going to go? I got to think. You can't think and pack at the same time. I do one thing at a time. Well, yeah. We're not We're not going to play games with you. We need you to get up and move or you're going to come with us. What? Do not get aggressive with us. I ain't. I'm just staying around back there. Want to house my family. You're going to stay outside. I don't know where you're going to go. I'm going to house my family. They don't want you inside. She was charged with resisting without violence and battery on a law enforcement officer. If this woman was unhinged, wait until you meet our next suspect, who's a bit slow in the head, but gets 10 points for humor. I just want to go home. I'm doing exactly what you tell me to do. That's why I'm doing disorderly conduct because you [ __ ] ain't doing what you told me to do. I know. What do you mean? Come on now. I'm going to jail for not for doing what you told me to do. Officer, if you're getting arrested for making the same mistake five times, maybe it's time to stop blaming the officers and start looking in the mirror. But who's going to explain that to this man who loves the sound of his own voice? Let me make you happy. I want to see this now. Go. You got yourself in that situation. I've never done this before. You got it. I have faith in you. I know. On November 26th, 2023, airport officers were called to a bar to address a disturbance caused by a man who refused to leave the premises. According to the manager, the man had brought an outside drink inside the premises and was being mouthy when asked to leave. Surprisingly, he was pretty cooperative when the cops arrived. He came in my restaurant with a a beverage, alcoholic beverage. Come there. I said, "You can't have that in there. We can't drink. Let me drink it. I just walk across the Okay. All right. All right. I guess real quick. Let me talk to you then. Yeah, that's fine. Let me talk to you. I just I walked across the hallway. Yeah. Could you slow down for just I walked across the hallway. Not like that, dude. You know what I mean? I walked across the hallway. She gave me a cup of milk. I literally sat at the counter. I'm watching the game. She walked up. Harrison walked up. She said, "You're cut off. You need to leave right now." I said, "What did I do? I just I just sat down." She said, "No beer." I said, "Okay." I chugged it. literally just put the cup down and I sat there. I'm calling security. You need to leave right now. I'm not going nowhere. I didn't do anything. So, I sat there. I went up to the counter to grab another drink and then she came from around the corner over there. No, no, no. You're cut off and calling security. I said, "Go ahead and call security. I'm going to be around the hallway right right here." So, all right. So, scissors could kick you out for whatever reason you want. Okay. All right. Good. And if you don't go back in there, no problems. All right. Cuz are you flying out tonight or are you Did you fly in or you flying out? I'm getting ready to fly out. I came in from uh Sarasota. Oh, like you're just laying over right here. Where's your flight? What gate? Kansas City. Okay. What time does it leave? She said I can't remember what she said. Okay. You have Oh, warning. So you Yeah. just I'm I'm completely cool. She said she's calling security. So, I found I saw you guys. I came over here, talked to you. I mean, I I'm not belligerent. I'm not drunk. I'm I just got a couple drinks from she before I sat down. That's why we're not coming at you any type of way. I appreciate that. I appreciate that. No, I sat down. She said, "I'm cut off. I'm just trying to figure out what it is." And she made an issue. So, I wanted to see. So, yeah. Just so anyone else you ever leave like any places. All right. Whatever. Cool. Yeah. So, I apologize for you. You're good. I some places are strict like they don't want other like alcohol from other places cuz they have to be accountable for how many drinks they serve you. She could have got a fat tip if she would have been right cuz No, I'm just saying though. So they have they have to be accountable how many drinks they serve. You can walk around with a drink like in the airport but like if you go into a different bar like it might like a beer bottle trouble and you have a cup. Um they'll they'll hand however they serve it to you. I think they that's how you can carry, right? Cuz if they they'll give it to you in a cup if they But you they don't like you going to tell their establishment with alcohol. 100% walk. All right, cool, man. So, yeah, just chill. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to go talk to her. Um if he comes back, just let us know. I He's gotten his warning. So that's what I see. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And he just keeps screaming and it's embarrassing. Yeah. People don't realize that like you guys make that call like you don't have to you don't have to like stab at sports or you got to pay attention. Why am I getting fired for all service? No, no, no. I don't blame you. It ain't worth it. Yeah. That's what we were like. You know, they have to count how many drinks they serve you. So, you can't just walk like you can walk around this airport with a drink, but you can't go into another establishment like so. But if we told him just don't bother you guys anymore. If he does come back, just let us know. You know, we'll come back. Yeah. Yeah. Just let us know. Thank you so much. Yeah. Sorry. I think this just got blown way out of proportion. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We He's okay. Okay. So, cuz he So, did he just walk over there to watch the TV uh with a drink from your place? Yeah. From other place. And I think like our server, we've all been here all day, so I think it's just got blown out. No worries. I told him like, "Hey, just don't go in there or whatever and it'll be fine, you know." And he's he's really calmed down. Seems hurt. No, no, no. He was I think he was just annoyed by the way the whole interaction happened. He get a little frustrated and he's this is already his second like this is his layover. So power traveling, you know, right? So good things never last, do they? Just 30 minutes later, officers were called back to the airport for the same guy who had taken his antics to a whole new level. Apparently, he kept coming back. And when the staff got stern with him, he decided flipping tables was the best way to handle it. Little did he know his karma was only a few minutes away. [Music] Hey, what kind of sense does that make? Hey, if you keep on doing this, listen. What do you mean? You just told me to come over here if I'm trying to watch a football game. Not let me Hey, take me where I need to go or let me get to my flight. Well, now you're going to deal with us because that's fine. So, that's why I need your ID. Give me your ID. That's perfectly fine. That's cool. You just You just told me when I was taking out money. I can come. We told you. No. We told you. No. No. No. Yeah. All right. Bet that. Bet that party. Yeah, I know. I cool. I bet that dude. Yeah. Bet that. I'm cool. I'm perfectly content. Just you guys got me pissed off now because you're trying to take me in and everywhere. I'll go wherever you want me to go. But I I did what you told me to do. Drink here. Watch here. I did not say that. All right. Bet that. Go ahead, dude. Calm down. You Let's go. I'll deal with you. I'm not dealing with Barney. Stand back. You got my ID. Don't push me. Don't run. I'm not running up on you. I'm I'm content. I'm not going to last shot. I'm not doing nothing. I drank over here and I washed right here. I've been kicked out five different times for watching a football game. Yeah. Now I'm pissed off because you've come down here three times to tell me to do what I have been doing. Right. And now But you're being disorderly because I've been to the law game. I'm I'm sorry, but I'm I'm just But you need to step back. Okay. [Music] Don't worry about I did exactly what you told me to do. Drink here. You did not say that. We told you to go down to party foul so you could not deal with these. I'm going to sit right here. My tank's right here. Where am I going to go right now? Okay. But that's what that was. They were that was the recommendation because this guy these people were not having you over. I'm getting pissed off. So take me where I'm detained or give me the out of all these people before I really do get in trouble. Check this out. I don't give a Stop. Stop, dude. Come on. So let's go. Thank you. [ __ ] goddamn football game. You're going to jail. All right, that's fine. Take your backpack off. [Music] What am I going to jail for? Disorderly conduct. What do you mean for disorderly conduct? You got me stuck in an airport at 10:00 when I'm trying to do exactly conduct. Yep. It's against the law in Tennessee. So, it's public in public. I'm not even intoxicated. What do you mean? You haven't been drinking. I have drink. I'm not intoxicated. Okay. I'm just saying you're not you're not seeing the law, though. I'm not intoxicated. Yes, you are. Public disorder conduct. You're disrupting the flow of business for them. You're You're being public annoyance. You're being a public annoyance. Exactly. What the We're done. We're going. Come on. Fine. Stop pulling me back when I'm walking with her. Hey, how long am I stuck in this place? For real. Go home. Well, you're going to jail tonight. Pause. Hold on. How long What's my bond? We're going this way cuz you want to get on your plane today. Dude, this is nuts. All right, officer. Are you officer? Am I? Yes. I hope so. Officer, there's a bar across from where I just got detained from. They told me that I can drink in their establishment, but I have to watch the I can't bring across. So, I don't bring my drinks across my drink at the establishment across the hallway. Every time that I'm drinking, every time that I'm watching a football game, your two security officers come up and tell me that I need to leave the establishment. What is What is going on? The man is clearly a slow learner because he keeps repeating that he'd been kicked out five times, but still didn't get the hint. Nothing teaches a lesson better than a pair of handcuffs. And when this one gets his own pair, he loses his cool like never before. You know where I'm going. Why you take me everywhere? Take my Hey, I ain't got nothing but my view. I just want to go home. I'm doing exactly what you tell me to do. That's why I'm doing disorderly conduct because you mother doing what you told me to do. I know. What do you mean? Come on, man. Are you going to pay for my ticket? You'll get rehooked. Unless you make too big of a fool out of yourself. I didn't do you. I I officer I stood there in the hallway. I asked them to take me somewhere so we could talk. They just wanted me to stand there and get more and more. Okay, hold on. Can I Can I Can I talk to officer here? You can put your body up against here so they can finish searching. Can I talk to you then? Yeah. I just want to explain to you. All right. So, you're not you're not in trouble for sitting out there and watching the game and do what you're supposed to do. It's the disorderly conduct part. But it's just I'm disorderly conduct for doing what you told me to do, right? No. No. Not you, but your officers. No, it's I I It was what you told me to do.
