Hi, my name's Lieutenant Alex El Castillo, and welcome to What's on a Truck Tuesday. The dive team for Coral Springs Park and Fire Rescue keeps dive equipment on all our apparatuses, rescues, engines, ladders, platforms. On the backside, we keep our BCD, or our buoyancy control device. Starting on this side, you'll see my main regulator. It's connected to my mask already. This is how I breathe air. On this side, we have our secondary. If I had a malfunction with my mask, I could pull my mask off, and I could breathe through this side. I can also give it to my partner if he has an emergency underwater. This is also where I would fill my BCD with air to control my buoyancy and release air. We also have our pressure gauge connected on this side as well. Here, we can check how much PSI we have left in the bottle. We can check the depth we're at and how far we've gone underwater. And we also have a compass for us to help navigate while under the water. Being that we're responding to emergencies, a lot of the times it could be a vehicle underwater where we have to help extricate a victim. We keep cutting equipment such as trauma shears. We have a knife connected to a gear keeper that can extend, and then we can return it once we're done using it. And then we have something to break glass in case we need to get through a window. Connected to the BCD is our air tank. Again, we check this out every shift to confirm it has enough for us to successfully complete any mission we have.
