Callers reported a suspect firing from inside his house on the south side of the building. Dispatch immediately classified the situation as an active assailant event. Inside, buddy. >> By 8:40 p.m., officers confirmed two victims with gunshot wounds. In the aftermath, the full picture of the victims emerged from the CAD log. One victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and arm. A second victim had a gunshot entry wound to the right arm at the elbow, exiting the forearm with re-entry into the right upper leg. A third individual was treated for lacerations to the feet sustained while fleeing. Four people total were involved, including Matthew. Three survivors, one fatality. >> Come on, grab the other arm. TAKE OFF. >> MATTHEW DIED AT THE SCENE IN the aftermath of officers returning gunfire at him. The officers who opened fire were initially placed on administrative assignment per department policy. However, later, the Kenosha County District Attorney decided they wouldn't face any charges. All individuals involved remain presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
