You're in Flaggler County right now. >> What is that? Where is that? >> Flaggler County, Florida. >> Where are you from? >> I'm from Jacksonville, Florida. I never been like out of town. >> Okay. So, you're >> north of Daytona right now. >> A little bit north of Daytona right now. >> North of Daytona. >> Yes. A little bit north of >> Daytona. >> Okay. >> What? What? You're from You're coming from Jacksonville. >> Yes, I'm from Jacksonville, too. >> Okay. >> Who was all who was all with you? >> Just me. That guy. >> Who's that guy? >> Him in that car. >> Who's him in that car? I >> I don't really know him like that. I know my cousin right here. >> Who's your cousin >> right here? >> Huh? >> My cousin right there. >> Who's that? >> That's my blood. That's my big >> No. What? What's her name? >> Mandy. >> Mandy. >> Mandy. >> Mandy. >> We're having med coming. Okay. >> Yes, please. >> Yeah. >> Are you able to move your leg in or not? >> No, sir. That's why he legs. >> Can you Oh, is my place bleeding? You have a little marker on your forehead, but I don't see any blood. Like I said, I don't see any media blood or anything like that. >> Your head and your leg are hurting. >> I I think I done broke my thigh. >> You think you broke your thigh? >> When he wrecked that car, like I kept telling him to stomp. >> Yeah. >> I jumped in the car cuz it was going to leave me. >> Okay. >> When I jumped in the car, I had like I had like um cuz they went in TJ Maxx first. >> Yeah. And I sat in the car cuz I was on the phone with my aunt. >> Who's they? Who? >> Um, my people that I came with. >> Huh? >> My people that I came with, we was at we was at different stores, but not I didn't I didn't you know what I'm saying? I didn't know because I was hitting the car. >> I'm going to run her really quick. >> I'm going to run her stuff really quick. >> One of the individuals requested medical attention, prompting officers to call EMS to treat her, while the others were detained and investigated. Can I get my phone? I don't know what happened. Dispatch has been Dispatch has been locked in. >> Could you see if I dropped my phone in the car for me? >> Listen, man. I'm not >> I mean, when when you get a chance, I got I just want to call my mom at least let her know what's going on. I should have thought about that before you went on your little grand stealing spree. >> Well, he wasn't on a grand spell. >> Oh, okay. So, what's the point of the co mask on the tag? You think I'm stupid? Bro, you guys got to come up with new ways. You guys are terrible. >> When you finished though, can you get my phone? I'm not g being >> I'll get to it. >> Yes, sir. >> It's not my first priority. >> Appreciate it. >> Oh, you got a warrant >> for me >> for lararseny. What's that? >> Crazy. >> What's larsening? >> Oh, you got two warts. >> Huh? >> For lararseny. >> What's larsening? Is that >> three warts? >> Huh? >> All for theft. That's crazy, bro. It's like I know what I'm doing with my job. >> Jesus Christ. >> Huh? Three warrants for where? The way they took off and ran. Exactly. >> Yeah. When she saw me turn my lights on, she dropped that immediately. >> I'm not here. >> My allowed up here. >> Hi. >> Hello. >> I heard something happened >> in the parking lot. >> Yes. >> Yes. >> I'm glad that your life was spared. >> Barely. >> I uh I move like a ninja. An old ninja. [laughter] Um, so what we need to do is we need to get a total of everything. So here's what happened. 15 cars later in a helicopter, we caught them. We caught them because they can't really drive very well and they drove the car off into a pond on the other side of BP. So they all had to swim to us. So whatever else I I the way I understood it from the call, there was more stuff. They'd been coming in and out. So more than one trip. So, if it's the group that we are thinking of, I don't know if our loss prevention has been in contact with Flaggler County. >> Not that I'm aware of. I'm new to this call. >> Okay. Um >> I just happen to be right here. And >> has it happened? >> They're like, "Hey, they're walking out of the store and I'm like, "Hey, I see him." And as soon as Who called? >> Uh some some gentleman had seen it and he even tried to help me stop the car. >> Yes. He I saw him in the parking lot. Yes. Yes. >> Okay. So, I will try to find out who he is and get a hold of him. I tried to call thinking it was y'all's loss prevention. >> So, good Samaritan. >> Yeah. >> Wow. Okay. So, there's definitely been a group. We've got we've got large lots and lots of groups and there's one particular group in particular I guess that it's been coming weekly and I I wasn't out there to confirm if this was the same group or not >> but our loss prevention was we were told if they come it doesn't matter the dollar cuz we have to call only when it's a certain dollar amount to report it so that way time >> um >> between that and and if they did make several trips in and out like was being said >> then there's a bunch more in the car. It's going to get towed and taken to when they get it out of the pond. It's going to get towed and taken to Yeah, you'll see the back of my car. One of the ladies I I cuffed and put her in the back of my car. My car's underwater, soaked just from her drenched. So, the biggest thing is right now what we need to do is do start our statements. I guess most important to start off with, we need a value. >> Can you create a value with this >> and then >> also what you might have seen in the camera? So, we can't go back and look at cameras, but we can certainly She was getting ready to write a report. Walked >> in. I was almost done. >> I wasn't out there, but I'm going to go watch the sales floor. >> You said I got three warrants from where? >> Probably. Like I said, your little stealing spree. >> Three warrants for what? Huh? Could you let me know what it what it say? >> Larseny. >> What's larsenying? That's what happens when you steal things. Fox 222 tech. >> So it says I have a warrant. >> Copy. You want my number for 29P showing three active 49. >> It say I have three wars. Juliet 5252849530. >> Could you tell me what the warrants are for? >> What's the last six of your social? >> Uh I don't I'm the last four11. >> Yep. That's you. >> What? What warrant for? has been updated. Take me. Let's take my sho. I need to go get my car on Main Street. Get all my shoes out of it and my clothes, everything. Put it in your house until I just get out. Please. Oh, shoot. I don't no money right now. I was going to I got like $150 on my cash out. >> Just put who I got to call. do >> look said look I'm not trying to be in your business in jail and he told me damn babe Damn I need you babe you know I've been having your back bro I need you bro I need you to lock in with my auntie bro she older she don't know nothing about nobody business Bro, just please lock in, bro. Bro, I need you to I can't even b out cuz I got three warrants. >> Officers found bags filled with candles and other stolen items which they took to bath and body works to determine the total value of the theft. >> Yeah, this was the collector. >> Well, hopefully this will >> they took from the front table. We just don't know. They filled up two baskets and a tote. It was a tall, skinny black guy, right? Did he have a tote? So when I was already in the car when I came out, he was driving and the two ladies were the ones that were hustling for the car. >> Yep. Yep. So it was the three of them. >> Um yeah, the guy was driving, he's the one that took all the ceilings. They were just kind of walking around the store. >> Okay. So they did come in and out. >> Yeah. >> They did it multi how many times? >> So I only saw them today once. One time two baskets. That was all I saw today. That was it. And if it's the group that we're thinking of and you have them, I will give you our um loss preventions information because there's a >> I'll need just need them and and we will help. Absolutely. I just need to see if we can get uh >> this was only a portion of what they took today. So you figured they had a basket and this right? >> They had two of our shopping baskets. This probably filled up the half of one that I saw and then the other one was >> the one lady I think she she throws something into [clears throat] the car, but it was like so I wasn't paying attention except for they're all I'm trying to figure out what car they're running for so I'm I'm not really focused on what she had. The one girl Amanda, she dropped this like just like that. And I was like, "Oh, okay." And I I don't know from there if the other lady cuz I look back. So I don't know if the other lady chunked something in the car. So chances are there's a lot in the car. Maybe from this store, maybe from other stores. >> Oh, yeah. They they they make their >> We're impounding it. So, it'll go to our lot. So, that's a plus. Um it's going to be a bit for they get it out. >> You know where the BT is down by by 95. >> The older gas station across from the hospital. That's Sometimes it's occupied, sometimes it's not. >> On 100. >> Mhm. >> On the right. >> Yeah. Just past the Chrysler Dodge dealership. >> Right here. Yes. >> Is it Is it Gerald or Gerald? >> Is Gerald. >> Gerald? >> Yes, sir. >> All right. Look, man. I'm just going to read you your rights real quick. You have the right to remain silent and anything you say may be used as evidence against you. You have right you have the right to talk to an attorney and have him or her with you now or at any time near questioning. If you cannot afford an at a attorney will be appointed to represent you. At any time you wish to stop talking or have an attorney present. All question be stopped at your request. Do you understand these rights? >> Oh, sir one second. >> My phone. So they thought that was a road and they were doing about probably about 85 trying to get away from us and turned into that and >> I heard the helicopters and I heard the cops over candles. I feel terrible. >> We don't this Flagger County we don't play. >> Oh no. >> They don't do that here. [laughter] >> Well, they do it here every week and we just can't about it. >> Yesterday we had something happen here too and supposedly um well they did. They hit um the game store here. >> Yeah. They got a remote control, some Pokemon cards, >> randomly worse your life. That's what >> Well, only thing we could get from them and they It's same MMO. They covered the um the license plate with the blue surgical mask. So, as I'm running, >> I'm trying to look to get a tag and I'm like, "It's I don't run much." So, if I'm ever running, get in front of me, something's coming. So, I'm running and I'm like huffing and puffing on the radio and I'm like, "There's no tag. It's covered." >> So, how many candles fit in one basket? Figure out how many candles fit in one basket. times it by two. >> 13. >> 13. You think it's only 13? >> I'm thinking 13. 14. >> So 28 candles, right? >> And then there was half a basket. >> 28 candles will say. >> Yeah. >> 28. >> No, 28 * 26.95 is $755. >> That was just one basket. And then there was another basket filled half. >> I'm doing two baskets. I'm guesstimating. If you said 13 and 13, I I put 14 and 14. 28 times >> $26.95. >> So, can you do me a favor? >> Wait, so they took two baskets and a tote? >> Yes. And this bag? >> Yeah, that bag. And >> so they filled this bag. >> Mhm. >> Okay. So, two shopping totes plus this. So, 2 4 6 eight. Let's say 10. Let's do 10. So, they took 38 candles. >> Yeah. >> So, >> can you ring that up? And then >> $1,000. >> And you guys definitely want to pursue charges. Yes, >> I can get information from loss prevention, but most likely yes. >> How fast could we do that? Cuz once we have them, we need to get we have an affidavit or a form that needs filled out that says you are willing to pursue charges. >> Well, you let me call, >> please. Thank you. >> Okay. Um, just give me one minute. >> Okay. >> Um, >> may I borrow your bathroom? >> I was just fixing to go and then that came out and I'm like, I'm right here. >> You're in the car. Thank you so much. >> Sure. >> I'll pick up the the the uh seat. I promise. >> While the officer was investigating at the store, the witness who called the police arrived to explain what he had actually seen. He turned out to be a retail crime investigator working for TJ Maxx. It was revealed that the trio had targeted not one but two stores, Bath and Body Works, and TJ Maxx, with stolen goods totaling around $2,000. Are you the witness? No. >> From TJ Maxx. >> I was wondering. I was like, "Okay, so I c I called you several times. It goes right to voicemail." >> Really? >> Every single time. So, um, yeah. Every time Every time I called. So, this is your saving grace. He knew what to look for. >> Yeah. I saw you in the parking lot, too. And I And I was like, "Oh my god. At least someone's here to not tell me I'm crazy cuz I just witnessed. >> I'm the one that follow." >> Yeah. And obviously, I happen to be right in the right spot. >> You were. >> So, I already talked to your investigator. said it used to work for us. She wants She said he wants to prosecute. So I don't know if you've been in touch. >> Yeah, the manager's She got permission to do prosecutions. So yeah, watch this. Um, so hit your number, call it, and then go to speaker and it goes right to voicemail. >> Well, now it's going through cuz I'm next to you. [laughter] >> Welcome to Verizon. >> Good to know you. All right, so I know you already know how to do this. >> Yeah, just give me a statement. I'll go over there and do that. >> Yeah, do that. Take your time. If you want me to come over there afterwards, that's fine. Um, what I need is uh if you have a card, you have you have an email address, right? >> So, I can send send you a link so you can access the video >> from your store. >> Yeah. So, you can just go on your laptop and you'll create a guest user >> and it'll give you you go right in and you'll be able to access the video and download it if you want >> from this store or your store >> from your laptop. >> Yes. >> From from TJ Maxx. >> Oh, so they hit you too. >> So, let me explain what happened. >> Oh, yeah. I'm I'm an organized retail crime investigator for this company, which is Marshall's TJ Maxx. >> Okay. >> I came up here to get some video for the state's attorney. >> Okay. >> While I was looking at that video, I saw them come in. They started grabbing all kinds of kids clothes. So, at that point, I went outside. When they pulled out bags and concealed, waited for them to come out. My boss said, "How much is it?" I said, "It's about 200." He said, "Well, just try to get to the vehicle [music] tag info." I said, "Well, there's a PPE mask covering it." And I said, "And now they're parked in the front of Bath and Body Works." He goes, "Go ahead and call." So, I called you. You pulled up and you try to stop them and they ran. I pulled behind the car and yelled to beep the horn and yelled to you that the guy's trying to get away and they try to run you over. >> Yep. >> So, >> I followed after him, kept them in sight, and I lost him back by the >> I'm glad you did. Did you see where we end up getting them? >> Yeah. Well, no, but I I lost him at the fire station. And she said, "That's okay. We just picked him back up." >> You saved the day. >> And so I came I said, "Tell them I'm coming back to the store." Yes, we want to prosecute. I'll be there waiting. >> Okay. So, I got a whole another case. >> I'm sorry. I guess I should have explained all that to you. >> No, I didn't. I didn't grab that. So, so there should be and I w I could see them I can be a witness for them if needed because they did it all right here and I could see them through the window. table. >> I literally was telling the dispatch that they're loading up two baskets right now. I can see it. He was throwing all kinds of bottles over in here into the baskets. >> They stayed thankfully right here. >> But they can give you video, too. The uh the investigator, he can get you video, too. He already sent me pictures of the theft in here. >> Okay, that's awesome. Yeah. So, what they think this is is a ring. So, if we can squash this ring now, >> this is what we're going to do, >> right? So, and this that's what I do. That's this the kind of stuff that that we do. >> Perfect. Well, >> um I I'll get you a case. I'm going to start another case for your store. >> Okay. >> So, I have a separate case and I'll get you that. This is me for now. >> Okay. So, you're going to see something come in. It's going to say invitation to use Genitech clearance. That's our camera system. >> Okay. >> So, all all you'll do is you'll go you'll you'll you'll you'll go into it and it'll say make a username. You'll make a username and bam, the video is going to be right there. >> Okay. >> And then you there's a a thing if you want to download it, you can download it or you just have permanent access to it. >> All right. I'm going to get a detective to do all that cuz they're going to want it anyway. I'd rather he download it cuz they'll have to download our cars with Verizon as you see. Okay. >> It'll be spotty. So, if they can get it, they can I I'll find out for sure what I'm going to do. >> I'm uploading the video right now. >> Okay. >> And then um >> I'll do a training seat. But that's I don't know if you guys got the merchandise back or not. >> We We have the car. It's submerged. So >> Oh, yeah. So they they when they were getting away from us, they you know the BP down here by the highway that hardly gets used. >> They thought that was a road. Took it about 85, >> realized it wasn't a road. It's a gas station parking lot and into the pond. >> All right. So I know this is >> we're getting everything. The tow trucks. >> Getting everybody's merchandise back. Uh will we be able to do that today, do you think? Yes. >> Okay, perfect. >> And so um they get hurt. Anybody hurt? >> No. They're one's claiming typical. >> So that so that way they go to the hospital and they think they're not going to be in jail, >> right? That's what they do. The other two, the main ring leader, which is the tall skinny guy. >> The third [music] female didn't go into my store. She was already in here. >> I only had two females. A male and two females. >> That's what I meant. Like the third person like, "Oh crap, we got one in the woods." [laughter] >> I had we had K9 ready to hit the woods. >> Oh my god. So, you said I'll just sit here until the other county come get me >> pretty much. You're going to have local charges, too. So, you're going to have to serve your time for our charges before you go there. >> Oh, I thought you said I wasn't. Okay. >> I never said that. >> Well, no. What you said? I >> I could tell you just from I'm not the one doing your arrest report for you running from us. Um, but I you're going to be charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding with want and disregard, resisting without violence, uh, reckless driving, and then whatever shoplifting charges come. >> Oh, here for a minute, man. >> Is there a pink phone on the ground over here? >> Yes, >> there should be. He's saying it's his. It's two phones. Offic something else. It's like five charges. Damn. I'm just trying to survive. All right.
