- Police officers have to deal with drunks and bullies almost every day. - Today, Detective Dale will take us through four unbelievable cases of reckless driving that will leave you angry or in absolute shock. - I'm unsurprised when I see a reckless driver speeding in a high risk zone. But to this day, I still can't help but feel sympathy for police officers who put themselves on the front lines to keep these drivers off the road. (police sirens blaring) - Watch out, watch out. Evesham Township police abandoned a high speed chase due to safety concerns. Instead, they tracked the suspect's vehicle to his residence and planned to apprehend him there. Little did they know that being in a residential neighborhood wasn't going to stop 23-year-old Mark Fariolo, the suspect, from unleashing madness. (footsteps) (police sirens blaring) - Stop. Stop. - Let me see her hands. - Let me see her hands. - [Ruth] Who? - Don't move? - [Ruth] Whose hand? - Come out of the car. - [Ruth] Whose hands? - Come out of the car? - [Female Officer] Come out of the car now. - Come out of the car. - [Ruth] Hold on, hold on. - No. Stay right there. - [Female Officer] Stay right there. (car crashing) - [Police Radio] Is there anyone in that car? - It wasn't too hard to conclude that Mark wasn't merely trying to scare away the cops. It seems he had a sinister purpose to take their lives. - Everyone off the road. (car horn honking) - Watch out. - Block him in. - [Female Officer] Get out of the car. - Get out of the car. Get out of the car. (several officers yelling) - Watch the crossfire. Watch it. - Watch for crossfire. - I got it. - Back this way. Back this way. - Ah, (bleep). - Mark, get the (bleep) out of the car, you're under arrest. Get out of the car. (car horn honking) - Put that vehicle in drive, you will be shot. Mark, get the (bleep) out of the car, you're under arrest. - Get out of the car. Put that vehicle in drive, you will be shot. (indistinct shouting in the distance) (car horn honking) (indistinct shouting in the distance) (car horn honking) (indistinct shouting in the distance) (car horn honking) - Try the other side. The other side of the baton. I gotta check the dog too. - After destroying three police vehicles, allegedly injuring a canine and driving into a neighbor's car, Mark quietly sat inside his car. The silence only made him more dangerous. - Try the other side. (indistinct chattering) (officer breathing heavily) (car horn honking) (police sirens blaring in the distance) - I can't stay. - I got covered down. - All right, I got you. (baton hitting window) - You've got to come to the curb. - Get out of the car. - [Female Officer] Mark, get out of the car now. - Can you see him in there? - Yeah. - He's slumped over. He's slumped over. (police sirens blaring) (door handle clunking) - Sergeant, get a squad out here. - Keep breaking, I got hands on him. - Back. Stay back. (baton hitting window) - Watch out. (car horn honking) (officer's footsteps) (car horn honking) - (bleep) (car horn honking) (keys rattling) - Does the back open? - Hold on, buddy. I need some light right here. (car horn honking) (keys rattling) (bleep) (car horn honking) Hold on, let me go on this side. What's that? (car horn honking) He hit my car like three times, I gotta check the dog. (car horn honking) Come here. Come here. Come here. Stay. It's okay. - Is he okay? - (bleep). Is he all right? - Yeah, I think so. - He's a good boy, he's okay. - You okay? (car horn honking) (police sirens blaring) (car crashing) (indistinct yelling) (car crashing) (car horn honking) - Mark's wife, 42-year-old Ruth Patton, stated that he was looking to antagonize the cops to the point where they would be forced to take him out. His charges included two counts of attempted murder of a police officer among others. Ruth was charged with obstruction and making terroristic threats. Sure, Mark was a nutcase, but don't get your hopes too high thinking he's the exception. The next case will leave you with a newfound respect for officers. - I wanna know what the (bleep) you were thinking. Were you not looking where you're going? - I was on cruise control- You see (bleep) all these goddamn blue lights out here, you think you (bleep) move over. - How many dramatics can unfold in a single night of crime? Apparently, one is just a warmup act when you are an officer keeping reckless drivers in check on the highway. (tires screeching) - Move, move, move. - When a driver of a stolen car refused to stop, on July 8th, 2023, a lengthy and intense chase unfolded, culminating in police taking severe action. (suspenseful music) - [Police Radio] Is he still rolling or are they stopped there? - [Police Radio] They pulled off to the shoulder and said felony take down. - Open the door and step out. - 1-9-7 here. (eerie music) - Step out. Get face down on the ground. Face down on the ground. Both hands out. You're good. Anybody else in the car? Anybody else in the car? Speak up. (music playing in the car) - Negative. - The cops all had their weapons on the ready, expecting some big shot speed racer. Instead, they were met with a 36-year-old dude who decided to run with the oldest trick in the book of rookie law breakers. (music playing in the car) (handcuffs clicking) (Bryston groaning) (handcuffs clicking) - All right, roll on your side. Roll on your side. Roll on your side. (Bryston groaning) (Bryston loudly grunting) (Bryston continuing loud grunting) - What's going on, man? - What's the problem? Speak up. (Bryston groaning) Speak up, dude. Chill out. What's the matter with you? What's the problem? You got a medical problem? huh? You're heart? Okay, you got heart problems? (Bryston gasping and grunting) Yeah. Okay, when was the last heart problem you had? (Bryston grunting) (indistinct chattering) (Bryston grunting) - Oh, s**t. - Hey, trying standing up. - Can you stand up? - Sit him up against the tire. - Can you twist your legs out from under the car? (Bryston grunting) Pull his legs. - Pull your legs out, buddy. (Bryston grunting) You're all right. - You're all right. - Listen, listen. Natasha. - Listen. Bring your legs out so we can sit you up. - Natasha Gray. (Bryston grunting) - Hey. - She was trying to kill me. - Hey, listen. Bring your legs up so we can set you up. Bring your legs up. Bring your legs up. Stop seizing up and bring your legs up. - I'm cramping. - You're cramping. (Bryston grunting) - Okay, do you want to sit up? Do you want to sit up? - My chest hurts. - Okay, do you want to sit up? - Yes. - Okay, bend you leg up. Bring this leg up to your chest so we can set you up. (Bryston grunting) All right, now roll on your butt. Roll on your butt. There you go. - Just rest against that. (Bryston breathing heavily and grunting) (Bryston mumbling) - She knows, she was trying to kill me. (Bryston grunting) (Bryston grunting) (Bryston continuing grunting) - All right, man. What's your first name? - Bryston. - Braxton? Concentrate on slowing your breathing down for me. All right? (Bryston huffing and puffing) Try and count the three on your inhale and count three as you exhale. Slow the breathing down. Slow breath. Slow deep breath in, and deep breaths blow it out. You gotta calm that breathing down. (Bryston groaning) (Bryston continuing groaning) - Braxton, do you spell that? B-R-A-X-T-O-N? - No, my name, it's Bryston. - Bryston? - Bryston David Robinson. - Bryston Robinson? - Bryston Robinson. Bryston, what have you taken or what do you need to take? - I was trying to get away from Natasha because she has some people come to the house looking for me. - Deep breath through the nose and out the mouth. Try your best. (traffic humming) - Do you have a heart condition, you said? (Bryston quietly mumbling) (traffic humming) - Baptist. - Baptist is where you been? You go Baptist in Conway? - Yeah. - Okay. - (whispering) Right there. I was waiting police for the police to help me, but Natasha (indistinct whispering). - Okay. (traffic humming) - Do you know where it was stolen out of? - No, I got pulled in behind it quick enough to get the tag and ran it. It popped stolen and he was pulling out the parking lot. (traffic humming) - Bryston? How you feeling? Is your heart still pounding out of your chest right now? - (whispering) I can't breathe. - Okay. We got that ambulance on the way for you, okay? All right, just try and take deep slow breaths, all right? (traffic humming) (Bryston groaning) - You all right? (Bryston mumbling) Breathe for me. Keep breathing. - When I got in the car- - Hm? - When I got in the car this morning to go to work there was white s**t all over the seat. - Who's Natasha? - Hm? - Natasha Gray. - Yeah, who is that to you? - That's my woman. - That your woman? - Yeah. - That's who this car belong to. - Hm. - 24 (hyperventilating) Albert Oaks. She gave me this car. - Was in registered in Conway? (Bryston mumbling) - Sherwood? (traffic rumbling) - And then, I seen the Sherwood police- (traffic rumbling) - Can I get an ETA on Pafford? - [Dispatcher] 2-21 Conway. - The officers turned on their blue lights to redirect traffic and decided to wait for the EMS to treat the suspect. Hold on, because nothing can prepare you for what happens next. - [Dispatcher] Negative, we're calling them now. - [Police Radio] I heard the page go off about a minute ago. (Bryston groaning) (Bryston yelling) - Did he pull over on his own or what? - He got a flat tire on that front side. I don't know how that happened. - You don't know if he was spiked? (Bryston yelling and grunting) - [Dispatcher] (indistinct) (traffic humming) (indistinct dispatch chattering) - I'm gonna call the owner. (traffic humming) - Hey, he's saying that's his girlfriend, so I don't know. - It's going straight to voicemail. - That's why we've got it set up for books. (car crashing) - Oh, s**t. - Move, move, move. - Are you okay? (car horn honking) - Everybody all right? Everybody okay? - Dalton, you good? - Dalton, you good? - Ah, goddamn it. - Nope. Here, sit down (officer Dalton grunting) Sit down, dude. (indistinct chattering) - We need an ambulance now. - How's my leg? How's my leg? (car horn honking) - 1-0-3- - [Dispatch] 10-4. - Contact 1-0-2. Somebody just hit 1-0-7s vehicle. (Bryston yelling) - Here, just... Your leg? (car horn honking) Leg. Arm. - Calm the driver of the other car. (indistinct radio chattering) (indistinct shouting) - Hey, man, are you sure? - Help me up. - I don't want you stand and hurt yourself. - You good? Are you okay? (indistinct chattering) - No, we have enough units up here, we need an ambulance. - This is the driver. - He's the only person in the car. How's the deputy? (car horn honking) - Is there anybody else in that vehicle? - Hey, Dalton, you good? - Dalton got hit my leg. - Dalton, are you good? - Hold on, I'm checking. (indistinct chattering) (car horn honking) (car horn honking) - 23-04 Conway. (car horn honking) - F**k, my car. F**k. (indistinct chattering) (Bryston yelling) (traffic rumbling) (car horn honking) (indistinct dispatch communication) (Bryston yelling) (car horn honking) - 10-4. (car horn honking) - Go to the back side of this car. Come on, one step at a time, buddy. - Big cramp? All right. (police sirens blaring) (car horn honking) - Can you step? (car horn honking) - Yeah, there's Mims. They gotta go down and turn around now. (car horn honking) (police sirens blaring) No, that's Pafford. No, that is Mims. Okay. (car horn honking) - [Bryston] Oh, God, please. - Can you walk? Can we take some steps back this way? (Bryston grunting) - We gotta get you to safety. (car horn honking) (Bryston loudly grunting) - Tough it out, man. Tough it out. - [Bryston] I'm trying to. She hurt me. - I know you are. (Bryston groaning) (car horn honking) (car horn honking) (car horn honking) - A wallet and two phones. (car horn honking) (car horn honking) - Dalton, are you good? (car horn honking) - 1-0-3 PD Let 1-0-2 know that everybody is 10-4. I've got minor injuries. 1-0-7 is 10-4. (car horn honking) I'll be giving them a call right now. (car horn honking) (indistinct chattering) (car horn honking) Yeah, my f*****g leg hurts like hell. - Hey, do you want to sit in my car over here? - Bierle's good. Dude, that explorers f*****g totaled. - [Bryston] I'm in the road right now. (Bryston shouting) - Man, we are on assistance with- - What the heck, idiot. - Conway PD on a stolen vehicle. - Did you not see us? I spiked him. We were out here waiting on everything. Dude's in the middle of the road. He's taken a bunch of n*******s and stuff, them being halfway in the road, man, we're just waiting on the wrecker and stuff, and this dude came out of nowhere, smacked Barley's car, like freaking 75 yards came at us. - Just stay there. - We were keeping the... blocking... (police sirens blaring) but... - You can not get back in that vehicle right now. - No, man, I just got minor injuries. My leg is f*****g in pain and I got some cuts on my hand and arm, that's about it. F*****g car, both, f*****g everything, dude. F*****g me and like two other deputies got stuck in between it. - Because one suspect trying to off them wasn't enough, the universe decided to send another even more enthusiastic contender for the worst driver ever award. And this one really got on the cop's nerves. - Hey, you good? Breathing okay? Does anything hurt like really bad? - I just really got to pee. - Okay, okay. - You really gotta pee? - It hurts really bad right here. I feel like I might have a broken rib. My collar bone feels like- - Okay. - I want to know what the f**k you were thinking. Were you not looking where you're going? - I was on cruise control- - You see f*****g all these goddamn blue lights out here, you f*****g move over. Hey Dalton, are you good? You good? Yes or no? Or are you just adrenaline? - I don't know. - You don't know? - I think I'm good. - He thinks he's good. - He says he needs to take a piss. - No, he's not allowed to pee yet. Hey, you can't pee yet. You're gonna have to hold it. - Yes, sir. - Is he drunk? - I don't know. He's gonna have to piss anyways, but if he is drunk or under the influence, he can't piss right now. (sighs) Jesus f*****g Christ. (indistinct chattering) (ambulance reverse beeping) - Yeah, dude. We got so many blue lights out here, directing traffic, telling him to move over because we got this dude laying in the road here and we're waiting on a wrecker and Pafford to get cleared out here. And this dude comes out of freaking nowhere, drives right in the back of Bierle's car, his explorer, my officer. It's totaled. But his car was like... 50 yards back. F*****g plums right in the back of it, dude. Comes right at us. S**t, as far as I know, nobody's dying. No, he's... I'm not even talking to him right now. (ambulance sirens blaring) I'm not even f*****g talking to him right now. I don't know if he's under the influence or what. (ambulance sirens blaring) - We're waiting for freaking Pafford to get out here. - Yeah, dude. It's a goddamn f*****g s**t show out here now. I'm good. I think my adrenaline is amped up, but... for right now, I'm good. So, let me get off here and take some f*****g pictures. I already called Decker, he's on his way up. Hey, just stand with him. Don't, don't. So... all right, I'm gonna take some pictures. Uh, let's see, looks like Dalton's car, very, very, very minor damage, nothing that, that deer didn't really, that that deer didn't mess up bad. So maybe need a new door, I'm not sure yet. But I'm gonna need half an explorer, if you know anybody. - Do you need to go to the hospital? They're asking. - Not right now. - Go get checked out. - Not right now, I got s**t to do. All right, let me holler at you. All right, bye. - [EMT] Where are the officers that were in this? - He was. - Okay. - Jesus, f**k. - You're limping, so what's hurting on you? - Just my leg, I think it just got pinned. - [EMT] You mind if I look at it, check it out? - Did you get good pictures of all this? - Yeah, I did. - Like good, good ones? - Yep. - Okay. - Yeah. I'll keep taking more. Decker's on his way. - Okay. - If you can just clean up my wrist or whatever. - Yeah, we can do that. Yeah. - You good? - Yeah. - Hey, stupid. Where were you? Were you like pinned between the two or? - Yeah, all three of us was in between. - Yeah, we were all three, right there. - Okay. - Dude, his freaking car was way the hell back there, man. - My, my car was plenty back, - Like f*****g 50 yards. Stupid m**********r. - What's the other one? - He, he was clean. So I'm saying just clean up his arm. - The officer? - Yeah. - What about the other- - The suspect? - Yeah, subject. - He's over there laying on the ground. - I know. I had sent Temperance to look over at him. - Hey, is state on their way, or? - They're supposed to be. - Let me see your arm real quick. - It might burn, sorry. - I don't even care. I appreciate it. - No problem. Okay, so that doesn't look like it. So it's really right here for me. - Yep. I don't know how bad that is. I'm not sure. - No, you're fine. Let me turn this way real quick. That's just a little cut right there. - Okay. - So we can just wrap that. - You can just go ahead and wrap everything up for me. - Yep, no problem. And then this one's just a little scrape, so. - It's all good. - All right. - I've been in worse. - I'm pretty sure. - Okay, so that's the suspect we were chasing- - Right. - Waiting on... the dude who hit us is over there laying down. - Yeah, I'm fixing to go over there. - Okay. Okay, I didn't know if there's another- - Yeah, you're good. It's just adhesive, so it'll just stick and then you can take off whenever you need to. - Were you in that car? - No. No, it's my car but none of us were in it. We were between that county car and that other sedan. - Okay. Was anybody in the county car? - No. - So both of the patrol cars weren't occupied? - Correct. Yep. - Deputy, can you go ahead and unlock it? - Yeah. - Are you hurt? - No. No. He's limping a little bit, and then one of the county guys, I think, got clipped a little. - What's your name? - Collin. C-O-L-L-I-N. Last name is B-I-E-R-L-E. - What's your badge number? - 1-0-7. (traffic rumbling) - (indistinct) - Yep. - What hospital are y'all going to? - We're going to Baptist. - Conway? - Yeah. Yes, sir. - Appreciate it. - Yeah, thank you. - According to a police incident report, the suspect in the stolen vehicle was booked for fleeing and theft by receiving. It's unknown if the second individual was charged. - Being a police officer is no easy feat with mental stress being a constant companion. But if the occasional physical harm inflicted by reckless drivers doesn't drive that point home, wait until you witness the next case, which is a visual representation of unbridled chaos. (tires squealing) - Wreck, wreck, wreck. - 7-8-2, 10-50. Get on the ground. - Pierre has no regard for other humans, which becomes evident in how he drives on a busy city road. But he expects cops to care about his Oscar worthy fake breathing issues. (car horn honking) - Get on the ground Get on the (bleep) ground. police received a report of a stolen vehicle traveling through Wisconsin. The driver didn't need any external hurdles to stop, his lousy driving took care of that. But the damage done was nothing to laugh about. (car horn honking) - Move. (police siren blaring) Light traffic Rodger Drive. (police sirens blaring) Exiting at Green Bay. Exiting at Green Bay. (police sirens blaring) (engine roaring) (police sirens blaring) And it's doing U-turn. Male, black driver. Dreadlocks. South on Green Bay from Silver, speeds are 40. (indistinct) speeds are about 15. (engine roaring) (police sirens blaring) - [Dispatcher] What direction on Green Bay? - We're still southbound on Green Bay and coming up to Hampton. Speeds about 75. Traffic is light. He is slowing for reds. Looks like we got squad up ahead. (tires squealing) (car horn honking) (car crashing) - Wreck, wreck, wreck. 7-8-2, 10-50. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the (bleep) ground. - Pierre's antics had cops hot on his heels, chasing him by car and on foot. Their focus was so fixated on catching this stray, that they didn't see what was coming next. (police sirens blaring) (car horn honking) - Get on the ground. (car horn blaring) - Are you good? Hey, are you okay? (car horn blaring) (car horn blaring) (indistinct shouting) - Are you okay? - Get on the ground. Get on the (bleep) ground. Mother(bleep). I've been real with you, bro. - My partner's gonna pull you in. - I've been 100 with you, bro. - Yep, I know. And so am I, dude. I'm telling you it's department policy and procedure. Just kick your legs in. - I don't care what you want. - Hey, hey, hey, you. Hey, hey, listen, listen dude better not... Listen, dude better not search me, bro. Because listen, what I'm trying to tell you- - Kick your leg in. - Listen to what I'm trying to tell you, 'cause y'all not trying to listen to me. - We're gonna pull you back in the (bleep) car. - Listen, y'all not trying to listen to me, bro. - I don't have to listen to you. - Just hear me out, my (bleep). - Kick your legs in and we're gonna pull you in. - So you ain't gonna hear me out? - Not right now. - Why, bro? Put your legs in. - Man, can I at least get my property? - Put your legs in the (bleep) car. - Just give me my property, bro. (body shuffling) - I'm tired of you (bleep) around. Sit there. He had a bunch of (bleep) in his mouth, so I don't know if he ingested n*******s or not. So I'm gonna roll the window down for you 'cause this guy's a little squirrely. - Are the probes still in him? - We got one out, I don't know if there's any more in them or not. - Bro, I can't breathe, my (bleep). That's what I'm trying to tell you. I can't breathe. - Keep turning your legs in. Kick your other one in and turn your legs that way. - How you doing? Are they bringing somebody for you? - I told them to go check everybody else out. - Okay. - My back is shot. - All right. Well, don't move. - I can't breathe. Can I get some water? I need something to drink. - We're not allowed to give you any water. - I can't get nothing to drink? - I'm not allowed to, no, it's a liability issue. You can take it off him, we're good. - Kick your legs in for me. - Bro, I need something to drink. - Okay. What do you want me to do about it? I just explained to you there's nothing- - I need a cup water. I need something to drink, bro. - Okay, we can sort that out back at the police department. Kick your legs in for me. - Can you give me something to drink, bro, please? - All right, do you not understand everything that I've told you three or four times? Kick your (bleep) legs in. - Hey, dog, hey. - What if this was just a one time blunder where Pierre crashed because he was under the influence. Hold that thought, Pierre's about to reveal just how dangerous he is. - I'll beat your (bleep), my (bleep). Check my record, my (bleep). I'll beat your (bleep), my (bleep). I'll beat your (bleep), my (bleep). I'm letting you know, so when you take these handcuffs off me, I'm gonna catch another charge, my (bleep), and I'll knock you the out, my (bleep). - You said you were standing there, you witnessed it? - I was dancing. Right there on the corner like I always do. - On the floor, I ain't playing, my (bleep). That's what I'm locked up for, PCOs and police, my (bleep), I beat your (bleep), (bleep). I ain't gonna lie, as soon as you and dude, you're the only two mother(bleep) I want. So, ya'll un-handcuff me and take off these shoes and all that, I'm beating your (bleep) and taking off right on you. - We're working on identifying him. - Okay. - He just came back. - He was a witness. - You were in the right in the middle, right? - Yeah, I was dancing. - Dancing. As always. - Yeah, as always. - You gotta show me them hands and you're gonna pop me again (indistinct) That's what I'm telling you, you're gonna pop me again at the table. I ain't doing (bleep) y'all want me to do when I get to the district. Y'all might as well put me on a turtle suit, whatever. I'm going all the way. I'm beating your (bleep) though, for disrespecting me. I'm beating your (bleep). Look my record up for whooping police officers, bro. I don't give a (bleep) about going back to jail, boss. That's what you fail to realize, bro. I don't care, my (bleep). I'm beating your (bleep), bro. I'm telling you now, I'm beating your (bleep) when I get to the district. That's what I'm telling you. I beating your (bleep), bro. On the floor, I ain't playing, my (bleep). Look me up. That's what I'm trying to tell you, I'm beating your (bleep), my (bleep). Between me and you, I'm beating your (bleep), bro. I should have spit in your face, (bleep). (Pierre kicking doors) (Pierre continues kicking doors) - I'm beating your (bleep). - Whatever you say, dude. - You're a (bleep). - All right, I'm not the one going to jail. - So is it the- - Where did Jamie hit? - Yeah, it was on this side. - You can see the marks here. - So this is drivable? - This is drivable. The only thing that hit my car was Jamie. So the guy came running around the corner here. I could see him running from the intersection, so I was trying to cut him off of my car. - So this guy hit a car? - The white car struck the black car in the middle right where the car is. - Okay. - Continued on and hit the red car. - Okay. - Red car got bumped back. - Okay. - He came out running. - Gotcha. - I could see him 'cause I was the last car coming through. - I'm beating your (bleep), bro. I'm beating your (bleep), man. - 'Cause was right here, I was trying to cut him off and I did, and then Jamie was right behind me and hit my squad. He ran right into it. This right here, is where he hit it. Jamie was running. - Oh, he was running? - He was running after him and plowed right into my car. 'cause I cut the guy off and Jamie didn't have enough time to react to me. (police sirens blaring) (Jaimie slamming into the car) (car horn blaring) - All right. - He ran right into my car. - That's what I was wondering. I'm like, 'cause I asked him if he was hit by a car and he- - No, he ran. - [Pierre] I'm beating your (bleep), my (bleep). - Sounds good, dude. You said that already, you know? - I cut the guy off and- - Gotcha - And in the process, I must have cut him off too. And he ran right into it like Rosie did on that- - I gotcha. All right. (Pierre kicking inside the squad car) - Do we have any other mutual aide we can ask for? To help here, at least, with Rob and the custody? Or, if we can get him back... He's not cooperative. - That's another charge, bro. I know you don't care. Bill be able to come back with me? That's what I'm gonna try to get. (Pierre kicking inside the squad car) - Jesus Christ. (phone jingling) - He's threatened me a couple of times, says he's gonna beat our (bleep) if we get him outta the cuffs. (phone jingling) So if we could get at least one or two more people. - Schrieffer. Just start calling people, anybody. Call Fernandez, he lives close. See if Frank can come in. Just start calling people. Call Lynch. We need you guys to come. (Pierre kicking inside the squad car) - 10-4, thanks. - Nobody's injured? - We got three injuries. So, she's injured. My officer's getting transported. And then, that female's got a knee injury with her infant was in that car. - Were vehicle's involved? - [Dispatcher] 7-0-8 be advised- - We were pursuing this car, he hit that one head on, and then hit that one head on. - So you said your officer- - The officer was not involved in a motor vehicle accident? - So the officer was in foot chase and then ran into the side of the squad during the foot chase. - Oh. - And then this guy's trying to kick out the window. You guys wanna go back, I have two mutual aid squads meeting you at the station. - What did I just say, we're not gonna take you out of the cuffs. - [Pierre] Okay. That's the best bet 'cause I'm knocking whoever out, my (bleep). - All right, I appreciate the heads up. We'll either put you in a wrap or a restraint. - [Pierre] A wrap, either one, my (bleep). - All right, dude. - [Pierre] Either one. - Whatever. - [Pierre] What the (bleep) you talking about my, (bleep)? - It makes no difference to me, man. - [Pierre] I'm trying to tell you, man, I'll beat the (bleep) out of you, my (bleep). - Whatever. So he's already tried spitting at me a couple times, says he is gonna beat our (bleep), so we're not getting him out of the cuffs, first of all. - Wrap? - We'll probably have to either wrap him or restraint chair him, just FYI. - [Pierre] All in all that rah, rah, (bleep), my (bleep), yeah, yeah. (Pierre indistinctly shouting) - Mr. Webb, why don't you change the attitude? - [Pierre] (bleep) you, my (bleep). (bleep) you. - Why are you so hostile? - That's the attitude it's gonna be, my (bleep). What are you talking about? - All right, man. Like I said, dude, due to your aggressive behavior- - [Pierre] Man, (bleep) you, my (bleep). - You're going a spiting net and a wrap. (Pierre indistinctly shouting) - All right, man. Whatever. (Pierre kicking inside squad car) What's your ETA? Oh, that doesn't bother me at this point. I just don't want to get kicked in the (bleep) knees. Just stand on the other side with the spitting net for now, 'cause I'll open the door and see what he's gonna start doing. - Go ahead. - Come out. Do not try and spit or (bleep) do anything, got it? - As soon you take the cuffs off, I'm knocking you out. - We're not taking the cuff off. - I'm knocking you out, bro. - You're going in the spit net. - I'm knocking you out. - Get down on the ground. You're going on the ground. - I'm knocking you out. - Get on the ground. (body's shuffling) - All right. - My hand is up. - All right. (body's shuffling) (keys clanking) (belts buckling) - There we go, as tight as we can go. And, step. Pull him up. (belts buckling) - Put this down in front. All right, push him forward, lean his body forward. There we go. Mr. Webb, you can breathe? Is that a yes? We'll take that as a yes. You got plenty of room in here. - Okay, if I pass out then that's on you. - Okay, we'll call an ambulance. I asked you if you were able to breathe and you refuse to answer. Okay. Ready? 1, 2, 3. This is gonna be a tight fit. Mr. Webb does anything on you hurt? - I can't breathe. I can't breathe. - Are you gonna refuse to answer these questions? - [Pierre] Shut your (bleep) (bleep) up. - Are you gonna answer the questions? - [Pierre] Is you sick? Is you sick? - Are you on any medication? - [Pierre] Is you sick? Is you sick? - All right. - [Detective Del] Pierre was charged with multiple felonies, including resisting an officer causing injury. Pierre's attitude may make you think that some people just hate officers, but our next case, will prove that some drivers are just reckless and don't care about even their closest loved ones. - Come here, come here. Come here, baby, come here, I got you. - [Child] My phone. My phone. - I'll get it, I'll get it. - It seems 25-year-old Daevon Roberts took his 6-year-old relative for a drive, but no one could have guessed what he was capable of. (Daevon groaning) - Shots fired. Shots fired. There's kid in the car still. He tried killing me. Buffalo officers pulled Daevon over for driving at an excessive speed and having tinted windows. - Hey, how's it going? - [Daevon] How you doing, sir? - I'm doing well. Can you just roll those back windows down for me, man? - [Daevon] Yes, sir. Yes sir. - Thanks, man, just a little too dark. - [Daevon] I got a kid in here. - Oh man, little guy, you gotta be sitting in the back. - [Daevon] He's six. - He's six? - [Daevon] Yeah. - How much did you weigh though? - [Daevon] Huh? - How much does you weigh? - I don't know, this is my little cousin. - Okay. - I'm taking him for a ride. - This seats his right though, right? Right here? - [Daevon] Say it again. - Isn't this his seat right there? - No, this is my nephew, bro. This is my nephew. - Nephew? - Yeah. - [Child] You forgot to say happy birthday. - Whose birthday? (child coughing) - His birthday was a couple of days ago. - Nice, happy late birthday. (child coughing) Do you know why you're getting pulled over? - No, you want to see my license? - Please. Whose car is this? - This is my sister's car. - Okay, there's no registration. - For real? - Yeah. Oh, the registration looks like it expired. - Okay, let me call her real quick. - Maybe not, actually. No, it's not, you're good. It's not. - I'm about to say. - We just pulled you over because you were going a high rate of speed, man, and I don't want to see the kid get hurt, and your tints are illegal, okay? - Okay, well, this is my sister's car. - Yeah, I understand that. Just rate speed, as well. You got your license on you? - Nah, I don't. I got a screenshot of it. - [Child] Y'all look the same. (child chattering) - He said y'all look the same. He's talking about this hair right here. I live in Georgia. - You live in Georgia? - Yeah. - Nice. - [Female Voice On Phone] Yes? - We're okay, Ryna. I'll call you right back. I hope she didn't just hear that. Here, you can look me up, bro. - You mind if I go look at the computer? No, no problem. Oh, you can write it down. You can write it down. - Okay, is it valid? - Yes. I don't live here, bro. My brother just died. Jalen Griffin, that came up missing? Filed in 2020 with baby. - Yeah. That's sad. - That's my baby brother, bro. - All right. There's nothing car we gotta worry about. - [Child] Yes, sir. - There's nothing in the car we have to worry about. - No, sir. - No weapons? No, no, no drugs? - No, sir. - I'm just asking you. - Sir, you can do whatever you want. - [Child] You need to check in the back. You can check in the trunk. - (chuckles) Listen to little bro. Listen to little bro. - You got a pin on you, can sign in again. - Yes, sir. - Yeah, bro. I swear to God, I get pulled over every day, bro. Literally. There you go. And it's me, bro. Give me one sec. - [Daevon] Yeah, I was being a cool big cousin, bro. - It's all right, dude. We all make mistakes, you know? It is what it is. Just gotta make sure he's safe, your safe, make sure everybody's safe, you know what I mean? - I can put him in a car seat if y'all want me to, bro. I thought he was big enough. - [Child] I'm six. - [Daevon] I thought he was old enough. - Uh, not so much age, more so weight. - [Daevon] See I got, bro, I got two seven year olds. - You do? - [Daevon] So they ride in the front with me. - Oh, okay. I gotcha. - [Daevon] So, I don't know. Everything cool though, bro. Y'all can literally do what you all want, bro. - [Dispatcher] (indistinct) available to backup at 1020 Humboldt, Science Museum? - I don't even smoke w**d or anything. - Ever heard the phrase, "Kids tell it like it is?" The child kept asking the cops to check the back, raising a red flag. But the cops didn't suspect any funny business until a quick background check rang some alarms. - All right, man, it's saying you don't have a license in either state. I have...sir, I don't know what to say. - Is there anything wrong with your license? - Do you have any trouble in Georgia? - I swear to God on my dead mom, I never- - You don't have it physically with you? The card? - I don't, sir. I'm sorry. - Okay. - Where were you headed? - Right here. Literally, I'm on the phone with his mom, bro. - His mom? - Yeah, she worried. We right here bro. - Where? You're gonna kill me. (indistinct shouting) - Daevon had made his intentions crystal clear. There's only one reason you'd speed at 60 miles per hour when a cop is hanging for his life on your door. At this moment, the officer makes a tough decision. (child screaming) (gun fires) - [Daevon] Ooh, stop. (Daevon groaning) - Shots fired. Shots fired. There's a kid in the car still. He tried killing me. Shots fired. - [Dispatcher] Shot is fired. Shot is fired. (indistinct) (officer indistinctly shouting) - [Dispatcher] (indistinct) shots fired. - Come here, come here. Come here. It turns out the 6-year-old was trying to tell the cops something because Daevon had been carrying a load in his sister's car the whole time. (police sirens blaring) - Move, move. Let me see your hands. (police sirens blaring) Help him. Help him. (police sirens blaring) - The suspect was rushed by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center, but he had succumbed to his injuries.
