hello I'm chief of police Bradley mcken I want to wish all returning students and faculty a safe and successful school year at the Coral Springs Police Department we remain committed to the safety of all of our students and faculty we remind motorists to please slow down in our school zones watch out for our children who are riding their bikes are walking to and from school and please be mindful of student pickup and drop off at bus stops I especially want to encourage parents and caregivers to take the time to speak to their children about online threats we take all threats against the safety of our students and faculty very seriously and is important to note that weapons are strictly prohibited on school campus when a threat or a weapon on campus is reported members of our threat management unit will respond using investigative techniques and state-of-the-art Technology officers determine the validity of the threat and will identify the perpetrator often these threats are made online by students with no intent to harm however these threats do have serious consequences anyone who makes an online threat against a student or faculty will be arrested and charged with a felony for students who learn learn about or see a threat it must immediately be reported to law enforcement or a school administrator never send it to another friend or share it on social media these types of threats disrupt student education are drainal police resources and negatively impact our community many people chose to call Coral Springs home because it is the Premier Community in which to live work and raise a family let's work together to keep this community safe and our kids safe thank you
