What is the reason I >> You are intoxicated. I'm not letting you drive this vehicle. If you do, I will let you ride. >> Would you like me to park my car? >> Um, they're okay if >> I don't care what they're okay with. I want to know what you're okay with. They're the rudeest. >> They just they're okay with the vehicle being on the lot. >> Where would you be okay with me? Backing it there. >> Ma'am, you're not driving this vehicle. If you start that vehicle, I will arrest you. I will arrest you if you start it. >> I won't start it. I won't start it. >> Get your phone. Get somebody on the way to pick you up. >> All right. That's a deal. >> If need be, I will move this vehicle a little bit forward. They're all right. The vehicle sits unlocked. Anything else I can do for you guys? >> Um, I'm thinking of having her trespass. >> Sounds good. I'll start that real quick. >> You know what? I didn't bring my phone. Oh my god. >> Is there a number I can call somebody for you to come pick you up? >> Use your phone if you don't want. I don't have mine. >> Sure. >> I'll get the paperwork started. Is this vehicle registered to you, ma'am? >> You want me to know? >> I just was on. >> Okay. Ma'am, is this vehicle registered to you? >> Yes, it's my vehicle. >> Here's what we'll do. Okay. >> Take a step back. >> I just want to park my car and I want to go home. >> She needs to not come to the property at all anymore. >> Okay. >> No problem. >> So, if there's any now I'll sign it. How dare they ever say to me that they think they're better than me to come into this property. You can go and sign it now and you'll never know. >> That's what he's doing now. You don't have to actually sign anything. He just >> signing it. I'm signing it. We're walking in there and we're signing it. >> No, it's out here. We're not going back in the store anymore. >> That we're going to do it's an arrestable offense. So, we don't want that to happen. like I would. Oh my god, this is obscene type of things to do. No offense to you, but this is really stupid. >> I want you to go in there right now. I want you to pull that that um video. She sold me everything. She said something to me I didn't like and I sent it back to her and then she took back my stuff, but she sold it to me. So now, who's in the wrong? Who is in the wrong? She is. If she doesn't think that I'm capable of drinking, I should have never been sold it. So, now we're going back in there. >> People can drink. They can't drink and drive. So, that was the condition. Let me tell you, step over this way. >> She had already asked me. She goes, >> "Can you step over this way? There's a car coming. I don't want you to get in. >> I seen it. >> I want to go in there. I want >> You're not going in the property. You'll be arrested otherwise. You guys go away cuz we're calling tomorrow. I'm not serving you. I don't think you should be served. And she's >> And they're allowed to do that as a business. Here's your copy. >> Still did ma'am. >> Do you understand? They're not allowed back on the property. >> Ma'am, if your vehicle is left this way, it'll be towed. So, would you like it move? I don't want you to drive it. >> They're They're okay with the vehicle staying where it is like it is. >> It's not pulled all the way forward. That's the only thing I was worried about. Ma'am, why don't I pull your vehicle forward so it's on the road? Can I do that? I'm just going to move it into the parking lot. Do you have your key I could use? >> I think it's in the car. >> Ma'am, I'm going to pull into that parking lot where you're at. Ma'am, I'm going to move forward. Okay. >> Kind of creepy. Could you just go back there? >> Ma'am, I'm going to I'm going to move forward after he's out of the way. Wash wash your door >> and yourself. So, so now there's nothing inside your car that you need. I'm going to lock it up. Okay. >> I'm not going to have any way to unlock it. Where's the key? >> I gave it to her. >> Oh, okay. No, no, no, no, no. Keys. >> Can I take a look at those keys real quick? >> You get anything you'd like, >> but that unlocks it, right? >> Okay. Well, then that's what's the important thing. >> Ma'am, he had >> I'm not allowed to stretch car. I forgot. I forgot. >> Yeah, I'm aware. He has a fob, so it works. >> That is your key. >> The one I took from the center console. >> I know it's my key. >> It's the one from the center. >> It's going to start the car. Go try. Go try. >> It's going to start cuz it did before. >> That's how I started it. I don't know what I'm trying to do. >> Give me those keys. Give me these keys. >> Okay. >> Watch. Do it. Do it. Ma'am, >> your attitude is not needed. >> You guys are trying to help. I don't want my keys. >> I'm telling you, those aren't the keys. They're old keys that just been in there. Listen, I'm a lazy [ __ ] I get new keys. I get new fobs. That's what I use. >> Didn't learn to buy my own car. >> No, it took more cuz these aren't the right keys. Like I said, >> that's what you guys gave me and fell. I talked about >> I said that's what you guys gave me and I got my >> Let's make you sure you had it. >> Place or drive? >> Place. >> Please. >> Why? What's it to you? >> Did you need a ride home? >> Yes, please. >> So, calm down. >> Calm down. Your attitude is not needed when we're trying to help you. >> I will give you a ride home. I'm okay. >> We asked if it was place or drive for a reason. >> Ma'am, if you go into the property, you're going to be arrested now. >> All right. >> Ma'am, you will be arrested. >> That's really unfortunate. >> This is ridiculous. >> Why are we doing this? >> Catch your >> Do not push my partner. Do not push my partner. Do you understand? >> I didn't push her. I was walking. >> Do you understand? This camera is rolling. >> No, I do. Listen. All I was doing walking back the other way. >> Yeah, you should have thought about that when you heard me tell you you were going to be arrested if you go onto the property. >> Listen, you don't have to do that. Listen, you don't have to hold me that hard. >> And listen, not that I can stand either one of you, but I do apologize for your >> inconvenience. Thank you. >> You're welcome. Next time you grab something under my head again, you >> What are you looking for? >> You're going to jail? >> I don't care if I'm going to jail. >> Okay, great. >> It's a bit ridiculous when we ask you to stop and not go towards the store and you continue to >> I turned down that parking lot. We will see that video. Give me my purse. You'll get it at the jail when you're released. >> Give me my purse. >> You don't get your purse. That's it. >> Okay. This suspect was charged with trespass after warning and resisting an officer without violence, totaling a bond of $1,000. She is innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. While this Karen had everyone against her, this next case shows what happens when another trespassed woman has an army to back her up. >> She's over that lady. >> Ma'am, >> ma'am, excuse me, ma'am. Are you going to push the issue with me? >> I'm not pushing the issue at all. I'm not even speaking to you, nor am I not talking to you or anything. >> Ma'am, come here manager. I was just here yesterday without my own mask on. >> I'm going to explain the most. Just like >> I'm going to explain it to you. You need to tell her she needs to leave the store. >> Fair point. >> You need to tell her in front of me and if she doesn't leave, I'm going to arrest her for trespassing. >> You can't arrest for trespassing. You have to do a paperwork on I know my mom. We're going to have to ask you to leave. Okay. >> You have to actually trespass me from the store. So, if you're not trusting me, you cannot arrest me. And you're not going to arrest me. No, you're not. >> Ma'am, put your put your thing down. >> No. No. >> Put your thing down, ma'am. >> No, cuz you can't. Can you come in cuz he really trying to arrest me? Turn around. No, >> ma'am. Easy. Let's make Well, what are you arresting me for? Can you tell me what you're arresting me for? >> Trespassing. >> Can you I'm not trespassing from here. You have to. >> I asked you nicely, please. >> Can you call your chief? No. Don't touch me. Call your chief. >> Come here. Give me a >> Can you call your chief? >> Ma'am, get on the ground. >> No. What the [ __ ] is wrong with you? Like, what? I'm not No. What is Are you ser? I'm going to sue the [ __ ] out of you. Are you serious? I am not trusting at the store. No. >> Turn around. >> And y'all doing all that for what? No, >> ma'am. I'm trying to be nice. >> Exactly. Let me leave. It ain't that you trying to be nice, sir. You look how you doing me for what? I'm a female. >> I haven't done anything to you. >> I'm not even trespassing. I swear. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> No. If you trespass me. That's the only way. Can you call your chief? >> Put your hands behind your back, ma'am. Put your hand. >> Can you call your chief? Can you call your chief? Can you call your chief for me? >> No. Why not? Can you call your chief? >> Put your hands behind your head. >> Can you call your chief, >> ma'am? Put your hands behind. >> Can you call your chief? You're not going to unlawfully arrest me for no reason. I know my law. I don't give a [ __ ] what you talking about. I have to be trespassed at this store in order for you to do any of this. So now I'm going to sue the out of you and the whole chief. Like I'm I'm going to make sure you get in trouble for this. You crazy. What is wrong with you? Can you call your chief, sir? Cuz first and foremost, you're dead wrong. Like you have no right to do this at all. Yes, sir. I'm not trespass out the store. There's nowhere to say I'm trespass out the store and look what you doing for no reason. This is why a bunch of black people get killed now cuz y'all do nice and >> No, you're not. Look at you on top of me. You are you attacking me? >> I'm not going to fight with you. >> I'm not fighting with you either. My men turn over. >> This officer really, you're arresting me for no reason? Yes, I am. What is the reason you're arresting me? Can you tell me where am I trespass? Do you have proof that say I'm trespass? Yes, I do ma'am. >> Where is it? That's not trespass. I'm not trespass. You have to have paperwork. >> Ma'am, >> no. You have to have paperwork to say I'm trespassed. Ma'am, >> stop yelling at me. >> I'm not yelling. You in my face on top of me. >> Wow. Okay, >> that like that's crazy as hell. He won't even call his chief cuz he know you wrong. You're not going to arrest me. Like that's crazy. No, I'm sorry. >> We'll sit right here until another unit. >> Okay. I want your chief here, not no unit. Thank you. No reason. He's trying to arrest me for no reason. >> Ma'am, do me a favor. >> No. And record this. Like he really sitting here. I got I'm recording it too. Ma'am, >> he really sitting here. They told me cuz I didn't put your hands behind your back. Man, put your hands behind your back. >> I was just here yesterday. Put your hands behind your back. He tried to put your hands behind your back. >> I'm not even trespassed. He put your hands behind your back. No, cuz I'm not trespassing. >> Do me a favor. Back up, please. Man, >> please. I am. >> That's crazy as first and foremost. He said he arrested me for trespassing. I'm not even trespass. >> Yell some more. Y some more. >> I'm not trespassed. Wait, what? >> Thank you. >> Get on your stomach. >> Get on your stomach. >> Thank you, >> ma'am. Put your hands behind your back. >> No. Get off of me. Where the rose? [Applause] >> Back up. Everybody that's crazy. >> Can I get your cheese? Can you call your teeth? What are y'all doing? Get off of me. What the is wrong with you? Like what? >> Man, get the off of me. Like, what is wrong with you? Let me go anything. I'm not doing anything. Ma'am, thank you. >> Right there. >> There's my supervisor right there. >> There's my supervisor right there. [Applause] Yeah. Get get her information for me, please. >> Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. I got here. They had told her numerous times to leave cuz she wouldn't put a mask on. I went up to her. I told her, "Man, you need to you need to leave the store. You need to leave the store." She refused in front of me. I even called the I even called the manager over. I said, "Tell her on camera in front of her. She needs to leave." She refused to leave. I arrested her. >> That's exactly what happened. >> Call your lawyer. >> So nice. I I was so nice. Problem is is people can't follow instructions. >> Was that without? >> Oh, whip. Uh, no. With >> I mean, I had to really wrestle with Charlie Brown. >> She's not on a point. Was she Was she trying to hurt you? >> She wasn't trying to hurt me, but she definitely was was resisting, but I mean, just go with regular resist. Okay. >> What do you need, ma'am? >> Supposed to talk to a >> What can you do? What What can I do for you? >> What's the real reasoning? Like, >> okay. What's her charge? >> Trespass after warning. >> Trespass after resisting without violence. >> Right. But how what what warning? Like the officer didn't all he came in there just ran. He charged me and then I was just in a store yesterday. >> When a business owner or representative says you have to leave, you have to leave immediately. >> But I literally was just in that store yesterday. I didn't resist. The officer attacked me and punched me to the ground. You're choking me. First and foremost, didn't y'all just see somebody die from being choked by an officer? I've never seen anybody die. Yeah, I know you have. Like I I I don't think nobody missed George Floyd. What's your name? Miss Miss what? >> It doesn't matter. Like >> So here's what I'll tell you. Here's what I'll tell you. Every officer has a body camera now. So everything was captured on video. >> Ask him why he was sitting there looking like because he know he was dead ass wrong. >> If he was wrong, >> he didn't have to attack me. >> Call internal affairs. I'm I'm not gonna arrest like I'm I'm not I'm want I'm not resisting arrest like legitimate reason. That's what he wouldn't even let me get a call. I still didn't resist. All I said was I'm on the phone with my mother. >> When officer tells you to leave, you got to leave immediately. No questions asked. >> He didn't give me a chance. First and foremost, y'all don't like black people. Secondly, what I said was, "Yeah, you done cuz you know it's true." This suspect was charged with resisting an officer with violence and trespassing. She pleaded guilty to a lesser resisting offense and guilty to trespassing. She was ordered to perform 50 hours of community service and was placed on probation for 12 months for each charge. She was also ordered to attend and complete anger management. And drunk people can shift their personality faster than a light switch. And that's what makes them some of the craziest encounters police face because one second they're laughing, the next they're crying, then suddenly they're in your face screaming like you stole their paycheck. And it's not the volume that bothers you. It's the way they seem to not know what's actually happening in the moment. You could tell someone 10 times to stand back, to stop reaching for their car door, to listen to commands, and their mind simply won't process it. I remember repeating myself over and over, not because I love the sound of my own voice, but because the reality of the situation was bouncing off a brain that was soaked in alcohol. In the first video, we saw a woman's mood cycle that told the entire story. I rate crying silly and just plain rude. And that's not four different people. That's one drunk trespasser collapsing under her own intoxication. What also goes unseen by the public is the split-second calculation cops make about mobility. Watching someone so intoxicated that they can't even figure out how to work their own car isn't just embarrassing, it's dead. And defiance in a retail store isn't just a bad look, it's a legal problem. Because when an employee tells you to leave and you refuse, you've crossed from being an annoying customer into committing trespass. And businesses do have the right to decide who can remain on their property. And they are enforcing that right, not negotiating you. So whether it's a liquor store or the aisle of a makeup shop, the law doesn't bend to moods or entitlement. And when you resist, you force cops to put hands on you, something no one benefits from. In these cases remind us that being asked to leave isn't optional. And standing your ground in the wrong place can land you in cuffs faster than you
