on July 18th 2024 officers located a stolen vehicle and pursued two individuals attempting to escape on foot the incident unfolded with officers identifying the stolen vehicle and observing the suspects nearby as officers moved in to apprehend them both suspects attempted to flee initiating a high tension situation that required Swift and decisive action the now put arm out out the officer's initial encounter with the suspects revealed their unwillingness to cooperate despite the officer's presence and efforts to investigate the suspects actively resisted and fled recognizing the urgency the officer immediately pursued the male suspect upon reaching him the officer attempted to detain him but the man resisted arrest aggressively please stop going back toward you guys back toward you guys get K the now put your arms out put yours out if you move you're going to get tased again your damy do not he screamed loudly and yelled at the officer creating a chaotic and disruptive scene despite the commotion and resistance the officer managed to subdue the man after a brief struggle meanwhile the female suspect exhibited equally uncol Cooperative Behavior her resistance escalated when the officer turned attention to her after detaining the male suspect during the arrest her behavior deteriorated [Applause] further get on the ground get on the ground do not move do not move do not move stop moving stop moving on the uh very south side of the apartment complex there hey get hands right here you got [Applause] her we got she screamed loudly yelled at the officer and even attempted to physically confront law enforcement it was apparent that she was acting out of desperation ation to avoid any charges related to the stolen vehicle or the circumstances of the arrest she was subsequently placed in the patrol vehicle alongside her male counterpart you guys didn't know the driver you have any weapons on you no sit up sit up than you have any weapons you have ID on you the caring fish had two you for I got it at the end turned on so just the cas tonight are you injured hey look at me thank you for your service are you injured yes or no yeah huh yeah where are you injured at my toe your toe okay anywhere else Mercy roll the other side all right sit up on your butt all right up on three one two three no I didn't shoot you bro what was that you got tased no that was no T that was a taser dog it's a new one one oh I know it felt like you got shot but you didn't I promise contain you're under under arrest bro for what explain everything in a second with both suspects securely detained in the patrol vehicle the officer began the investigative process by questioning the male suspect however the suspect proved to be uncooperative and evasive he continuously provided conflicting accounts and fabricated multiple stories hey how you doing what that not fine but sure you could be better I know real [ __ ] cuz I don't know what the going on what's going on sir I'm going talk to you later did someone did you give someone your name you have his name yeah yeah we have him my okay what's your name ch ch ch all right so I want to talk to you I want to get your side do this cuz you are in custody right now I'm in custody you're in handcuffs in the back you're not under arrest officially but you are detained pending a criminal investigation let me read this to you and then we can talk all right you have the right to Man sound do you understand yes sir anything you say maybe use against you in court do you understand yes sir you have the right to talk to a lower before and during questioning you understand yes sir if you cannot afford a lower and what one one will beight for before questioning without charge you understand sure has anyone threatened you or promise or anything they gave to talk to me I don't know what is going on well I need you to answer that question first has has anyone threatened you or promised you anything they get you to talk to me to get me to talk to you has anyone threatened you to make you talk to me I mean I what are you talking about it's it's a yes or no question no okay that's all I need to know like I'm not trying to be difficult I'm understand what's going on you want to talk about what happened yeah what's going on okay so um how about we start with this look where are you guys coming from know what you were driving no like I I don't really know bro I just like had like a like a blackout a moment I don't know what happened all right how long you been driving that car it's uh for reference it's 2 in the morning right now I just got picked up where did you get picked up at I was at a FR house where's your friend's house my friend but I don't I who picked you up look I just got picked up I I don't who picked you up I'm not saying I don't know bro you don't know who picked up cuz like I don't I don't know nobody name I don't know you know what I'm saying there was a girl in the car with you who's that girl I BR I just met her she she she like a friend like the first time was she the one that picked you up I don't I whose car got cuz I was told that was that was like you know what I'm saying somebody's car it was her car like you feel me who told you that you're giving me a bunch of things but you're not telling me I don't know what like all right what am I being contained for what is going on no you not you asking question sir I'm asking you question this Behavior suggested that the suspect believed he could evade legal repercussions by confusing or misleading the officer once the preliminary questioning of the male suspect was concluded the officer shifted Focus to the female suspect I'm trying to understand what the questions is for what is going on all clearly it's about the car call the car that was like I heard this is what I was told I'm saying I was a friend's car and for the for the day I mean listen man listen you're trying to cover for somebody I'm not covering for nobody hear me out hear me out before you interrupt hear me out just hear me out I'm trying to understand like hear me out before you interrupt me hear me out sir if you're trying to cover for somebody you're the one in handcuffs right now not the other person so you're eating it right now understand so whatever cover up you're doing for somebody guess what that person you're covering up for sleeping well in their bed tonight at their house you're the one in jail you're the one in the back of a police car so if you're covering up for somebody you're the only one that's going to eat it right now so I would stop covering up for somebody and tell me all the details so we can do a good investig not if you're if you're going to turn Mees here what you gas station were you trying to go to the nearest gas station I I she I was listening to what she was telling me to go so that's it but sir what is going on what's the investigation I told you my side responses were incomplete and vague which complicated the process of gathering critical information about her involvement um I got to read you your rights first you understand mhm you have the right two other roommates in their house oh so they all you all living together the same house and so this is like another roommate's car mhm okay so and the roommate let me use the car the roommate let you use the car yeah all right hold on [ __ ] what's your roommate's name that's a good question uh it's the one that reported quotequote reported it or whatever the roommate reported it what stolen I guess roommate reported it stolen yeah but he had told the roommate a crackhead I know lie how did you figure out the roommate reported the car stolen um he was texting me he texted you that reported stolen how do you have his phone number but you don't know his name he put in my phone he put his phone number in your phone what when when did he text you that the car was stolen around 4: 4:00 today I think so yeah how long have you had the car huh like if you had the car for a couple hours couple days couple weeks how long after listening to both suspects and analyzing their inconsistent statements the officer decided that further investigation was necessary the decision was made to transport both individuals to the police station where a more controlled environment would allow for a deeper inquiry into the case couple hours so but you've had the car since before 4 p.m. today huh after 4 after 4 so when he told you that he reported it stolen hopeing he didn't bring it back I didn't my phone was dead your phone was dead yeah yeah but you got the text message so how come you just drive the car back to the house by the time I got the place my phone was dead and I went up 11 and my phone had turned on well how come you just didn't drive the car back to the house then give it back to him I was about to when you say you're going You're not anywhere near Pine Hills right now so I don't think you're going to that house right now no cuz you're in the east side of Orlando which is like 30 minutes from Pine house so you're lying a little bit no we going to go back around I got done huh I going back when I got done you're going to go back when you're done all right was there any dogs in the car I don't remember you don't remember if there any dog do in the car um how come how come your boy was driving if if your friend gave you the car how come your friend was driving over here you just let him drive or something for like joy ride huh mhm you let him Joy Ride I appreciate you being honest um is the reason so you can just say yes or no is the reason you ran from the car because you knew it was sto and you didn't want to get caught by the police yeah is that 33rd yep later the two suspects were brought before the court to face legal proceedings they were charged with Grand Theft reflecting their involvement in stealing the vehicle and resisting an officer
