on January 23rd 2024 officers were called to a smoke shop after a customer visibly intoxicated became aggressive and struck an employee the customer had been making rude remarks including about the employees weight and after being asked to leave he physically assaulted her the employee decided to press charges and a witness took a photo that helped identify the suspects the officer soon found the suspect and his girlfriend upon approaching the man the officers questioned him about the altercation the suspect denied hitting anyone even though there was video evidence clearly showing the assault were you that guy here no you were he hit him okay what happened uh they came in they bought some stuff they were super drunk you know they brought their drinks inside and the guy was being kind of a douche and she kept kind of calming him down and then he made a comment about her weight I tried to get them out of here and he said you want to get smacked and then punched me in the side of the head I was right here so he kind of knocked me into here and then he punched me in the back of the head again okay do you want to press charges or yeah definitely there's a guy outside that works out for HDA and he was like I took a picture of them and I was like can you text it to me yeah that's both of them mm my phone you can take my phone you want or I could text it to your phone let me text to you let me go grab real quick I should park right outside yeah she told me her name is I don't know if that means anything but it's worth writing did they say the state or no Iowa they're appreciate the video depicted the man hitting the employee twice in the head the man's response was a repeated denial of wrongdoing even when the officers offered to show him the footage his girlfriend seemingly trying to resolve the issue in her own way then attempted to bribe the officers offering $500,000 to have the matter dropped you want to see the video or you want to just forward it and then this is going to be when they come back in after they bought something do better if you don't leave right now I'm going to have to call the police and then you will have a problem when you
