All right, so before we go any further, I just like to say I'm going to be asking you some questions. >> Okay. >> Okay, so I'm going to have to Mirandize you, okay? >> Okay. >> All right, so I'm going to read these. I just need an affirmative yes or no and and then we'll and then we'll move forward or not depending on your response, okay? So, you have the right to remain silent. Do you understand that? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, if you wouldn't mind just initialing next to all those Y's and then sign and date at the bottom, please. And then right there, can I have you sign right there? And today is the 19th and it is currently 4:15. Perfect. Thank you. And then All right. So, with that in mind, do you want to answer some questions? >> Sure. >> Okay. All right. So, um I'll just start off with just confirming you're Cynthia Jones and is your maiden name Seidelman? >> Um that was my married name. I'm divorced now. >> Okay, Jones is Okay. Okay. So, I have my maiden name back. Makes sense. All right. And then what was Did you have an address prior to the one you're at now? >> Yes. >> What was that? >> 506 Parliament. >> Okay. All right. And then um the phone number that I called you on today, that's your only phone number? >> My cell, yes. >> Your cell? Okay. All right. Um so, going back to 11/7/24 around 5:00 p.m., were you at Medford Stop & Shop? >> It is highly possible and I have a feeling I know what this is about. >> [laughter] >> Okay. All right. So, I'm not going to beat around the bush. If you have an explanation for what I'm asking, then I'll let you kind of explain yourself before I ask anything else. >> you [clears throat] Yeah, and I can tell you I did not steal that wallet or do anything with it. I didn't even open it. I went shopping after work, which is my least favorite thing to do. I was kind of in a hurry. Um I just kind of like brushed through it, didn't think anything of it. Got home. Had it in my car. I would have taken it back. Um it was in a Wawa bag in my car. I took my kids for breakfast the next day. Everything got thrown away. I don't have the wallet. I didn't open it. I didn't touch anything in it. So, >> Okay. >> that's all I can say about that. I don't like doing things after work. I think I was very much on autopilot. Um I don't really think I thought anything about it. Um like even when I got to my car, I think it was just kind of one of those things like just kept going. So, but that's all there is to that. >> Okay. So, then you're saying that the next morning it got tossed out with >> Okay. Yeah. I don't have any of it. I didn't even look in it. It was Yeah. >> Okay. >> I put it back in the car like I'll take it back to the store. Um but yeah, I did not get there. But I don't have it. >> All right. So, how did it end up getting put in the Wawa bag? >> I put it there. >> Okay. >> Yeah, to take it to ShopRite the next morning. So, I had it in my car. That was all. >> Okay. All right. Just because just start to finish I have you in in the ShopRite. You actually place it in bag resembling that that purse. All right. And then I obviously >> No. >> go through and so you're admitting that you you did retain the wallet when you left the ShopRite. >> Yes. I had that in me. Okay. I mean, like I said, when I got in there it was kind of like I put my purse in the car and it was like that was there and I put it in my purse kind of not really thinking it was mine, but not thinking anything of it. Do you know what I mean? Like I think I was just kind of wanted to get out of the store. >> So, [snorts] >> that was all there. >> So, even though we left the store conscious that you had you had the purse at the time and you left it in the car to be able to go return it. >> Yes. >> And then and then it got thrown away. >> It did. >> Did we Did we ever come to the idea that like maybe I should let ShopRite know I found it in the car or I let Medford police know hey I found this wallet I accidentally disposed of it. I don't know who's it was. >> think of that, but yes, I should have done that. It did not end the way I wanted it to. I I was in a rush. I watch my granddaughter when I get home from work. I think I got home, got focused on doing that, didn't do anything else with it. In my head I'm like I go to ShopRite all the time. Just thought I would bring it back. That's really all there is to that. >> Okay. >> Had no intention of doing anything with that wallet. Like I said, didn't even open it. It wasn't like >> Okay. All right. Um All right. At this point I'm I'm going to hold on to this, okay? I'm just going to go make a copy of this. >> Okay. >> All right. Um At this point I'm going to end the questioning. Um essentially you had basically explained yourself to what you what you believe the extent of the incident was, all right? And kind of answered any of my leading questions right off the bat due to the fact that you admitted that you that you had possession of the wallet when you left ShopRite, okay? >> Mhm. >> Um Right now I'm going to for the purpose of audio recording I'm going to end this interview. I will be back. Just give me a minute. I just got to do some paperwork and and then I'll be I'll be back in. So, just sit tight for me. >> All right. >> Thanks for coming out, appreciate it. Bye. Reading for investigator. Thank you. All right. So, you can put that back in your wallet here, so. All right, so this is the um Don't want to scare you or make you upset or anything like that, okay? But, right now, based on the evidence that I have and and your statement and everything, there's it's it's going to be a charge for theft of the stolen property, okay? All right, so technically right now you are in custody, not in your handcuffs. All right. We're just going to walk back, get your fingerprint, and put some information. You're going to leave here tonight. You're going to go back to your kids. That's a good You're not going anywhere besides wherever you have to go after we're done here. Uh it's going to be about 30, 40 minutes. All right. >> Okay. >> Fingerprints, information input, leave here with a piece of paper with a court date on it, okay? >> Okay. >> All right, so that's where we're going. You can leave this stuff here. It's secure. We're going to leave the door closed, and there's other officers in the in the building that will be able to keep it. So, if you want to uh drop your drop your jacket for me. It'll just be easier that way, and then all this stuff can stay right here, and then we'll be we'll be in and out, okay? All right. Should we go ahead and come forward? Yeah, go ahead and come forward here. And then and right and then straight down to uh there will be a wall of lockers. I'm just going to leave your stuff. I'm just going to pop the door open and we'll keep it. >> And how long do you want me to be out? >> I'm just going to go to the right here. I'm going to go right to this room on the left. All right, let me just grab a seat right there on that bench right there. Perfect. >> [snorts] >> So, everything on your um on your driver's license is accurate information, right? >> I the 16 I block, right? >> Yes. >> Yes, everything's correct. >> Very good. So, that's just two different systems. I'm sorry. So, you're straight at the small one. And then, if you wouldn't mind just getting to turn and just face that wall. Perfect. Okay. So, it's going to sound really crummy, but I do need you to put you just in a holding cell for the time being. That's just kind of what we have to do for right now. I need to go get a statement just over to my road sergeant. He's going to type up that paper that I told you you were going to get, and then you're out of here. Okay? So, just a couple minutes over here in the cell. I'm going to ask you to take your shoes off. Okay? It's just policy that we have. All right. So Yeah. Yeah, you can leave them right there. All right. And then, you had no necklaces or jewelry on or anything right now. Perfect. All right. So, I'll make this as quick as possible. All right. Thank you very much. At the bottom here, all right, in bold, this is the this is the court date, okay? 12:05 to 8:30, okay? >> Is that here? >> Yep. >> Oh, okay. >> All right. So, it's it's all municipal, okay? >> Okay. >> All right. If you have any questions, um but regardless of any questions, you should call the court phone number, okay? Tomorrow, and let them know that you're that you were served with this summons complaint, and then they will be able to uh it'll be in the system uh in the morning. They pick up all the paperwork. So, it'll be processed by them, and they'll be able to kind of guide you as to how to proceed further with showing up for court and things like that, okay? >> I have to call them regardless. >> Yep, yeah, give them a phone call, and then they'll just provide you with all the information on how to proceed with our court and everything like that. >> Okay. >> All right.
