There's no excuse for it. I've I've never been in trouble for anything. >> So, listen, that's that's going to work in your favor. Everybody Everybody makes makes makes mistakes. Everybody's entitled to second chances and that's what we're trying to do, okay? So, all we're trying to We got to We got to do what we We got to do. But the most important thing is what we do after this, right? So, we learn We We learn our We learn our lesson. And we move forward. Life goes on. And like I said, at the end of the day, it's going to be a piece of paper that that you're going to get with a court date. Just make sure you go to that court date. Be honest and they're the the the the courts are very flexible. They're very Um But like I said, the demeanor's everything, okay? So, we document everything that we have here. So, just stay cooperative with us. We can work with you. >> I'm trying to see if I we're going to be able to cut you loose from here. >> Okay. >> just got to give me a couple minutes. >> Thank you. >> Uh >> I'm so sorry about that. >> her You got her license show? I can check the car. >> Yeah, everything's everything's in here. >> Run her real quick. >> Okay, if you want to stay here, I'm going to go put these in the car. I can stay >> Here, let me get her DL so in there? Right here? >> Yeah. >> It's just like a traffic ticket that I had a lawyer with, but then we're paying it. >> I met her All right, I'm going to check her real quick and then um >> You want to put these in her car or what do you want to do? >> Put these in my car? >> No, in her car cuz these are all hers. I They're not nothing's stolen. >> Check with the sergeant to see what he wants to do with that. >> Hey sergeant, what do you want to do? Do you want to put these in her car? Like this all her >> 22188 County 1. >> 22188. >> Can you check one adult female all around by New Jersey DL, please? Code as well. >> Her Okay. >> Uh Yep, I got her DL right here. She's coming up on a suspended. I'm just confirming her with Quigley. >> Code is N with 5. >> Yeah. >> All right, so I told her she can't drive. We'll just park it. >> So, I'm just confirming it with with with with 5, and then I guess we'll just take care of it from here at the PD. >> They have everything. We're going to walk her over. >> Sounds Sounds like a plan. >> 22188 10-1. >> 22188. >> Austin Carjas. Has a suspended driver's license. Negative for negative for warrants, negative for coded. >> Thank you. Good? >> Thank you. >> You're good? >> Yep. >> All right, cool. All right. Officer Dookie or Dookie here is going to take your handcuffs off of you. >> All right. >> Yeah, grab all your stuff. We're going to escort you out this way and then you can get out. I am going to sit in my car here just till you get out and get to your kids just to make sure they're okay. Stand up for me. Thank you. Listen, once this happens, like I said, now it's now it's all about learning from your mistakes, right? >> Yes. I'm so sorry. >> Every once in a while they uh catch. >> That's when you said, "Have you ever been naked somewhere?" No. >> There we go. 29 Tucker Den Road, is that >> Yes, I have it written down. I have it all written down. I have everything written down. >> Yes. >> Okay. >> I have a gray Subaru 5.3. >> You're good. So so so So what's going to happen is I'm going to fill out the paper paperwork at the at the police department you're going to get in the mail. >> Okay. >> There's going to be a court date associated with that. Make sure you attend that. >> Okay. >> If you have a >> or >> That's totally up to you. Um I can't make you any kind of suggestions for any legal purposes or anything like that. I'm not allowed to do that. So here's your old driver's license. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Um So basically, what I can do is um I can basically recommend to you there's a phone number that's going to be at the bottom. It's going to be the court's phone number. >> Okay. >> If you need If you need any kind of alterations for court dates, if you need any time, if you did want to get representation or anything, >> call that number. >> Call that number and let them know you just need a little little bit of time. Let them know you got kids. You just got to They'll be willing to work with you. Most things are um virtual anyway. >> Okay. >> Um so, you can always request that it be a a virtual hearing. Um but um other than that, you're you're pretty much going to be good. You're going to be good. Just make sure you keep an eye on that in the mail. >> Okay. >> If you don't receive it in the next couple of days, give us give us a call. >> Okay, I will. >> All right. Um cuz I'm going to have it done done tonight. I'm going to put it in the mail tonight, so it should go out tomorrow. You should have it by Friday. >> Okay. I'll look for it then. >> I believe the court date's going to be December 13th. >> December 13th? >> December 13th. So, it's a Tuesday. >> Okay. >> happen. >> Okay. >> Okay? >> Thank you so much. >> No problem. >> Uh Officer Reducci. Reducci. >> Okay, Reducci. >> Yeah, very Italian. >> Yes. And what's your name? >> Arlada. >> Arlada, okay. Thank you both for being so nice. You look familiar to me. Both of you kind of look familiar. Maybe at the um at >> I'm at a lot of them. >> and um like at a community night or >> Yeah, so I was one of the uh community policing officers for a long time. So, I was at a lot of community events. So, you probably recognize me from >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> I'm just so embarrassed with my four kids. I'm so sorry. >> Like I said, listen, we get these all the time. Uh like I said, I and I give the same advice everybody. Most important thing is how you bounce bounce back from this. Ev- Everybody makes makes makes mistakes, even adults. Um so, now the most important thing that that we do is we learn from that from that mistake. We bounce back from it. Handle handle whatever it is that you got to handle on the court side, that way it's done. Um like I like I said um did my sergeant let you know that your license is suspended? >> My license is suspended? I Well, I told him that I was working with like I had a traffic issue that I had a lawyer for. >> Okay. We'll go We'll go We'll go right over here. Okay. Okay. So, um I'll explain to you how to take care of the restorations for for for for for the suspended. So, So, the way the way driving while suspended works is um it's a it's a two-way two-way thing. It's DMV and the courts work together and that's how your license gets suspended overall. Yeah. So, what you do first, make an appointment with DMV, let them know an officer let me know that my license was suspended. Okay. Um they'll make you an appointment time. Um it's usually in the same day. Uh so so what's what you what you'll do is you'll go down there, you'll pay a restoration fee. Um I'm not exactly sure what the restoration fees are. Um and then basically what you'll do is um Shamong has their own court system, right? We go to Medford Lakes. They do, but we go to Medford Lakes for everything just because They do have like their They're their own township, but we just go to Medford Lakes because it's small and I think it's either we use their judge. Okay. So, But I took care of all the court stuff. Like I what I So, what I would do, um you get the restoration taken care of. Um what what what what what what you'll do then is you have to go to go to Med- Medford Lakes for for for the court to let them know. I had like a a fine for that. I'm like paying on it every month. Okay. So, typically what happens is if your if if your if if they suspend your license, 99% of the time it's cuz there was an insurance lapse. Okay. That's typically what it is. Um I've seen a couple other things, but it's mostly due to insurance lapse. Okay. So, um provide what it is. Or Don't even Don't even Don't even do that. Just go to the DMV, provide them Provide them with a valid insurance. Yes. Okay. Um so provide them I told you so your your your daughter's asking for you, but um, so that's exactly what I what I would do is um No, it's no no no problem. So like I said, make it So I got to tell you you technically can't. >> Okay. >> We're not going to sit with you. We're not going to baby sit you. Just just so you know, you can get pulled over for it. >> Okay. >> Um and it's a state mandate that we issue that we have to issue the summons for a driving while suspended which makes it even longer of a court process. >> Right. Right. >> So if you do decide to drive, be careful. >> Okay. >> Um >> Just go right home, right? >> Exactly. Um, but like I said, we're not going to baby sit you. We don't tow cars or I don't know if we tow cars. Um, so like I said, just make sure um contact DMV. That's the first step in anything. Um, you've got to pay the restoration with them. They'll give you the paperwork for it. >> Okay. >> And then you go and and then you give that to the courts. You show them that that your car is restored. You show them that you have valid insurance on it. Um, and then typically they'll they'll lift the suspension for you for that. >> Okay. Okay, cuz I went to court. So I So maybe I just didn't go to the DMV and I didn't get that paper. I paid that restoration fee. >> So I'm not sure when it got suspended cuz I I would I would have to inquire about that. >> went to court. It was just for um it was just in uh the very end of like October. Like it was October 28th I think. >> So typically what happens is if you change insurances, if you didn't notify um your new insurance company to start it beforehand, typically that's how it gets suspended. And if there's any kind of lapse cuz in in New New New Jersey you have to have liability insurance in order to operate. >> it. Can I renew it now? >> Um yeah, so just make sure you do have a valid insurance before you go to DMV cuz they won't restore you unless you have it. >> Right. Right. I had my card with me. >> Exactly. So as long as you have all your documents with you, bring your license, bring your bring your registration, bring your insurance card. Um, and just say, "Officer, let me know my my license was suspended. I just need to get it restored." They'll They'll basically they'll ask you for the for the proof of insurance and all that. And then basically they'll pay the fee or you can set up a payment plan with them. And then um, they'll they'll be able to help help you out from there. They'll give you a piece of paper. It's either pink or blue or something. Um, and then then you'll go to Medford Lakes Court and you'll just say, "Hey, listen, I was told by an Evesham officer my li- my license was suspended. I got it restored through the DMV." You didn't get a traffic summons. Make sure you specify that. Cuz otherwise you'll come to our court. Um, so just let them know you didn't receive a traffic summons, but you were told to come here to make sure that that everything was lifted. Exactly. Exactly. That's the most important thing that I I want to make sure. Um, >> They'll have the video to pick up on Friday. >> Appreciate. Um, so like I said, you'll have everything set up for you. Um, you'll have everything mailed to you Friday. Um, or by Friday or Monday at the absolute latest. This Tuesday, so I would assume Friday. You'll see it's going to have an Evesham Township tag on the front of it. So if you want to keep it from your husband or something, just keep an eye out for it. But um, like I said, it's just going to be a Oh, You are all set. No No problem at all. Best of luck with everything, okay? If you have any questions, feel feel free to give us a call.
