occurs when someone is concerned about the well-being of an individual these checks are often prompted by a lack of communication or unusual behavior that raises concern for the person's safety or health anything you say can will be used can I just get through this said I have the right to remain silent but I'm not I know you're but I got to why are you driving a police car when you're the sergeant what do you think Sergeant when the officer arrived at the scene and approached the door they encountered a highly aggressive woman who was causing a disturbance this kind of behavior Can escalate the situation making it difficult for the officer to assess the safety and well being of those involved what's going on open the for what I don't know you want to talk to or G to I I don't know I don't I don't know what's going on oh are you scared your gun cuz you don't how to use it or should I just take it do you want me here or not yes I want to here come on Y come on I need help what do you need help as the officer began questioning the woman as part of the investigation she suddenly became became violent punching and assaulting the officer in response the officer quickly acted to arrest her but she resisted the arrest making the situation more difficult to manage kicked door who kicked the door he did go on thank you no don't grab me oh are you going to me oh dude adding to the already tense and chaotic situation such Behavior not only obstructs law enforcement efforts but also poses is a threat to the officer's safety and creates a highly disruptive door she said the door was kicked in yeah you think I could do that myself and she grabbed me and I said don't grab my arm and then she punched me in right I punch him why I didn't punch him you did punch I want my hand be broke well I doubt it her lack of compl liance and violent actions made it far more challenging for the officer to manage the incident such Behavior complicates investigations and places both the suspect and the officer at greater risk the escalating aggression and refusal to follow lawful instructions can significantly worsen legal outcomes for the individual involved I the situation further despite this the officer remained focused on uncovering the facts behind the disturbance when the woman began issuing threats the officer chose not to engage with her provocations and stayed professional carrying out their duties with responsibility and composure camera at that work yep cuz he's been harassing me yeah I'm sure app do you want to put her in the cruiser yeah we're going to go sit in the cruiser you have shoes or anything you want no no oh you guys AR I'm sitting here huh you guys are going to sit in the cruiser and I'm not no you are what did I do wrong back my driver he scared me well you can't just swing on him he swung first and then he pushed me against that and almost made me fall of her well do do I look like I could punch a gr man well you did no what I'm saying is you did no he didn't he's not going he punch me first and I can't protect myself where' he punch you and my head my t well let's go sit in the car you guys can I'm maintaining a calm and controlled demeanor the officer prevented the situation from spiraling further out of control and continued the investigation in accordance with their role in law enforcement I thought I broke that but what what the railing cuz he was trying to push me off no it's not broken I was doing him he's the one calling it I'm trying to tell you I got SC he called because you said you wanted to help and I was going to come help you you wanted me to make sure you were okay because you were banging on the door on me no I just coming here TR put new on my so you can see the we're going to go right over to the car and he's going to talk to you over there why would I go in the car when I did nothing wrong cuz I was drinking water out of it to feel a little fancy for a minute it's all right come on dude no we'll help you get up I don't want to get up well this is where we're kind of at right now okay I was looking for help he came we got Miss confused because I was so scared of him and he's even bigger than him he's like your size but double wide why are you scared because he was yelling and screaming at me cuz I was making too much noise trying to put the new eight on my address and I dropped that ran in my house obviously different than another well at any rate when the ambulance gets here you're going to have to walk over there so they can check out fine I don't need the ambulance I can reject that thank you I decline I'm fine well when they get here you can tell that's fine this is canning stuff down wrong so s I'm not worried about it no you're not see if you needed help with anything before I came here but huh have taking off now why that's not happening you have any reason yes I do you the one assult on the police officer you hit me after you hold my hand I told you to not grab me I didn't grab you she became even more aggressive assaulting the officers as they tried to restrain her despite the worsening situation the officer remained committed to their Duty relying on their training and experience to manage the situation safely my name is TJ I'm a sergeant with akan anytime officers use Force I come out and do an investigation numbers I started yelling for him I said I needed help so he came up and then I don't he actually I like grabbed his AR like put my hand on his arm CU I like would you hold my arm or like not want me I don't know I got scared and then he turned around and punched me and then I don't remember what happened okay did you punch him no you never hit no you only grabbed his arm yes no I put my hand on his shoulder cuz I was scared he's the cop right what did he do when you put your hand on his shoulder he turned around and I don't even know what happened he's trying to push me off that thing like some wrestling move like my cousin Jimmy yeah so he punched you in the face then what happened my temple and then I don't remember you don't remember anything after he punched me yeah I just sat down and he's like calling people and then the ambulance came yes thank you uh he didn't do anything after that other than put you in hand cuffs yes very hardly put you in handcuffs hard yeah like it went into my skin can you describe how he did it hard crabbed my arms and made him as tight as he could so it went into my skin as you can see and I didn't even get arrested I was one asking for help yes it [Music] hurts all right so there there anything that I need to know so he came here you thought it was for you you grab him by the shoulder and then he punched you in the face yes that's an accur I just put my hand on his shoulder I didn't even like grab him or anything cuz I was scared and then he put you in handcuffs hard like you can see it dug into my skin and then you were treated by EMS and that was it there was nothing wrong so I told him there was nothing wrong and they said okay have a nice day Angela yes or you said Angela and he said Angela yes so are you not injured then no I just misunderstanding apparently so I can get the Handcuff off let going going to take a couple pictures of you real quick okay what's this on tanning gone wrong and I started St I can show it in my oh no it's all right what it was which side of the face did he hit you want the side on side did anyone in there witnessed this no he was inside the GU he called I'll go ask him real quick if you saw for me yes did we look to see if there's any cameras that would don't have any they don't work it's just scare people after placing The woman Inside the vehicle the officer went into the apartment to speak with her family members this discussion aimed to clarify the situation and gather more information that might provide context for the woman's Behavior how you doing uh I turn that off just so I can hear my body camera after the appreciate it uh so what's going on today she she's a good neighbor she just has some mental problems and I was sitting there with the dog and she started ping on my door and I opened the door and she had a screwdriver you the one to call yes sir and she started to stab my door with the screwdriver so I told her I was going to call the cops and she was about to come at me at the screwdriver so I had to calm down for a minute and I called you guys any idea why she did this or she say anything is it why she did it no no she ever done anything like this before no I'm a sergeant the real reason I'm here is anytime uh officers use Force I get called out to do an investigation did you witness what happened between the officers and her uh what what happened he was coming up and walked up and started talking to her and then he came up the steps and she started swinging on him oh more than once yeah how many times did she swing at least two or three times I seen him and the dog started to freak out so I had to I had to get her back and I I'm standing right here and he was just trying to restrain her and she was still hit him did you see him hit her no he did no no fairly confident he he hit her which I'm not saying it's wrong he didn't but you didn't see it no s did you see him do anything to her ear and put her in handcuffs he take her to the ground or anything uh he he was trying to restrain her on on the ground uh how did she get to the ground there was it was kind of a tussle a little bit and then tussle after she started swinging out yes yeah y engaging with family members can help law enforcement understand underlying issues and address them more effectively ensuring a thorough investigation and appropriate response to the incident the family members agreed that they should proceed according to the rulle rules and regulations showing no objections to the woman's behavior all right uh anything I didn't ask or anything you think I should know about the officer in her no are you wanting charges for the door I called my I called my landlord and he said to call you guys too I I don't know I thought she was going to stab me dud to be honest with you and I uh were you in fear that she was going to stab you well no I'm a better so I just I was I told her I was like I'm going to call the cops and she was like call them and she was she had her arm back was going to well let me ask you this were you concerned that she was going to come at you with the the screwdriver and you were going to have to take some sort of action yeah which wouldn't have been good right no would you uh want any charges for this threatening you with the screwdriver no no so just the door because it's your landlord yeah all right so anything I should know I didn't ask uh no she just she's she's a good neighbor she just you know spent through a lot and she I don't know why that she never done that no idea what she did no idea so an accurate statement with the officer he he approached her uh and she just started swinging at him she did for no reason no reason nothing happened before that nothing he was trying to talk to her and then she just he when he start to walk in the step start swinging he was trying to have a conversation to figure out what was going on yes and they ended up on the ground but you didn't see how uh no I I seen him he was just trying to restrain her and then I put the dog up and then I came back and he was still she was still swinging on so and he was having a hard time getting her in the Cuffs was he saying anything stop resisting yeah he was telling her he just calm down and so yeah he was he he he I wanted to I wanted to do something I but I just I just stood there and just watched with their consent the officer successfully secured the woman in the vehicle and then transported her to the station for further investigation this step ensured that the situation was handled appropriately and that any necessary legal procedures would be followed you are under arrest you taught me a few things or two you are under arrest for what someone please tell her you're arrest for assaulting a police off all he did was grab the shoulder cuz I was scared he punched me in the mouth so that's what I did not but we're not going to argue it cuz that's what Court's for so so this is what we're going to do we're going to walk right over here to this vehicle over here and we're going to get into the side over there where he has the ramp well okay well then I will help you over there that's not a problem I didn't do anything wrong I'm very willing to help you but I don't want to do I don't want to do this this is silly this is silly cuz I'm going see my rights and what happened you can look on the video camera thing he hit me isn't that what the body cams are for it is but you can't hit us they not expecting to hit that you hit me first it's not what needed in a wrestling move here here's the thing you're going nothing's going to change if we don't want to argue a fight with you in the why aren you looking at me think court is where you argue this we're not arguing it here I didn't do anything
