on May 1st an officer responded to a report from a Subway where a caller claimed an employee had stolen $220,000 from the restaurant how you doing are you okay what's going on with your face yeah I have some kind of skin thing I've been going to the doctor I yeah excuse me I need my store Key please the safe key what did I do you know I have the dollar please send me to jail I don't you can get I'm not saying nothing when the officer arrived they met with the manager Who provided details of the incident and shared background information on the suspected employee the manager was visibly upset and explained that the suspected employee a female was not only accused of taking $20,000 recently but had been involved in a pattern of theft over the past 3 years give me give me a few minutes yes we have evidence for 3 years years no are you out of your mind okay so right now um you are going to get arrested okay I need to speak to you because this has been going on for a while completely to you if you want to speak to me or not okay but I I hold on let me finish if you do want to speak to me and you have an exclanation for whatever is that you may have done I'm going to read you your rights and we'll go from there just to get kind of like a baseline if you this is kind of a good chance you get to explain sir before you go okay can I can I just ask please I don't know how to my daughter after school that's that's we will talk about that later too have you have been told for last year I reminded you corporate on the watch before that I explain you corporate is on the watch please do not do one minute catching I have evidence and piles and piles and piles and piles of evidence with detailed note and corporate is this is me right now corporate is coming after me for you okay that's all I have to say not send me to jail with this information in mind the officer approached the female employee to initiate questioning however the suspect appeared visibly defensive and uncooperative from the start I you been told before nobody else I excuse me I told you you had a pass record I worked my I worked hard for 6 years to drag you out of that you had all whatever drugs felonies you have you did not listen I gave you my store keys I trusted you and guess what you robbed me for over and over and over I have's he's you've been recorded now enough enough enough you step out step out just so you know You' been record no matter what happened I I have a 5-year-old daugh seven-year-old daughter okay that needs to be picked up and I have nobody else problem regardless of what happened I don't know how okay so can we resolve this away without taking me to jail unfortunately it's not up to me up to it's up to him okay yeah so there is a lot that we need to talk about all right and I cannot force you to talk to me we can have a conversation maybe get a a better understanding why this happened if you want to but I have to read your WR okay simple because I'm going to be asking questions right all right so the first right you have is you have the right to remain silent and not answer any any questions number number two any statement you make must be freely and voluntarily given number three you have the right to the presence and representation of a lawyer of your choice before you make any statements uring any questioning number four if you cannot afford a lawyer you are entitled to the presence and representations of a court appointed lawyer before you make any statements despite the officer's efforts to calmly explain the nature of the investigation she refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing maintaining her innocence while questioning the officer's reasons for the inquiry and doing any question number five if I at any time during the interview you do not wish you do not wish to answer any of my questions you are privileged to remain silent do you understand your rights yes okay perfect do you want to speak to me I have never like intentionally done anything wrong to hurt you to Mr Vania I need you to step up please we cannot do this back and forth thing if you're going to keep doing this then I cannot do an interview I I I don't know what he's talking about like for 3 years and stuff okay no I I how long how long to the best of your Rec I don't feel like I've been stealing you don't feel like You' been stealing so one exact you feel feel he treats us very unfairly okay what is all of us what is unfairly to you I like there was one girl's been working here 6 years she still makes minimum wage like he like he doesn't give us any appreciation and I've been here a long time and I I know I don't mean the sound come off you know like as excuses and anything but he's a hard man to work for right and I've never I never like intentionally meant like I never like in my mind like stole anything okay I just feel like we're all treated so unfairly and so what I mean what do you think happen when you're pocketing money or when you're taking money from the register or when you're not bringing stuff up and then later on I adjust understand I understand it wasn't a lot okay and I didn't mean I I know it did it's it's fair so just to get a time frame listen it's a lot it's a lot of video it's a lot that you have been done and you know it and I am not judging you by been doing me I understand I understand it might not bit for years but it's been going on for months okay so approximately the best recation I'm not trying to for you to snitch on yourself but to the best of your recollection if you can pinpoint how long ago this started happen months months before Christmas of last year or around Christmas after after Christmas yeah so like the beginning of this year yeah it's yeah mean January you I've been here eight years I'm I'm not that type of person I'm just not and so you always kept the same schedule correct yeah all right so most part Tuesday to what day Saturday what do you mean Tuesday to Saturday work um yeah Tuesday to Saturday from 8: to 3:00 p.m. 2:30 yeah okay if you started taking money what was the initial amount that you were taking that you can recall a couple dollar here a couple dollars is what like $2 yeah like as the conversation continued the manager elaborated on the evidence they had gathered which they claimed dated back 3 years uh it started with $5 yeah I mean was it every day back then in January no no when did it become every day I think I was doing every day I mean it was a dollar here to or or here here and there you know and I to get in a tip job we only talking about a dollar a month like $1 $2 I didn't take like 20s and big amounts I didn't nobody mentioned 20s but you did take 20s no I would go and get change a lot okay all right I'm not going to argue with you I'm I'm trying I understand for you to tell me a little bit to help me out help yourself out I know I'm trying but I didn't like steal a lot like at a time it was little amounts and it was so we're now basically in June so basically a 6mon period correct all right let's say if you were taking $5 per day $10 per day $20 what say okay how much do you think you have stolen from your store in total not a lot not a lot now whenever there's a cash transaction I'm just looking at the patterns here it seems to me like whenever there's a cash transaction you don't rank up the cash transactions you either ring it up you cancel it you don't ring it up leave you put the money in provide change you split that amount into the tip chart you take some cash then or a combination of both or later on you come back and take cash so it's a lot maybe I didn't realize I I don't mean I I didn't think I was doing it at all I it's been every day for the past at least for the past month it's only it hasn't been that much not that it makes a difference but it I mean I don't take a lot at a time and I I know that doesn't make a difference a day but over time how much do you take a day $10 $10 yeah yeah Chino please come me handle this without actually arresting me I've done so much for you too did you give him his feedback Tino please don't do this to me I don't know how to pick up my daughter it's my daughter that's what I'm worried about the manager explained that they had been suspicious for some time but only recently managed to compile enough proof including discrepancies in cash records security footage and possibly altered financial statements that pointed toward the employee you were told you told many times what you have done is uh enough damage to me it's totaling 19,000 plus no is it there's no a corporate will come after you and I this is my first can we handle this with a court gor something please please have my keys and I got to go please know I begging you I don't know what to do about my daughter I'm going to have an anxiety attack please should have thought about that before I didn't mean to hurt you Tino I am I'm 100% honestly sorry I'm trying but you keep interrupting so step outside I'll get you are you okay you want you want an ambulance huh no can you breathe I don't know how I'm going to pick up my daughter I have nobody else I mean I will leave I will handle it supp I will do whatever needs to be doneo I'm begging you please don't this information caught the officer's attention as the length of time over which the theft had allegedly occurred made the situation even more serious this is not my call this is Law and Order it's not my call he said it was up to you if I if we can handle it differently please Tino I've shown up every day for you for 8 years and this is just started recently and I apologize from the bottom of my heart my daughter I have I can't do this to my daughter please Tino can't we handle this a different way besides sending me to JY you do what you have to do I I cannot be interrupted I get in trouble if I get interruped now would you would you allow me to not go to jail and we can handle it with some other kind Meo I've done so much too for you I've been loyal to you and I apologize loyal to you how Mr Venia for you pick up your stuff and go or I'm going to have to you take care of you please don't send me the jail I don't know what to do with my daughter or anything I'm begging you Tino I will go to court and pay it all back come get you no please oh my God why can't we handle this is some kind of a cour DAT or something I don't think he can I don't think he can be in agreement for you to repay all this money back I don't I ICI see what's that I just I since started the about picking up my daughter from no I don't have any from boys and girl club where she's at and she's also she's already going through all this anxiety and stuff and I got nobody to watch her nobody I mean it's just me and her and I don't know how else to isn't there any way we could somehow handle it without taking me to jail I'm sorry I don't even have anyone to help me how long would I have to stay in jail for like can I after examining these details the officer began to see The cas's credibility as the evidence pointed toward consistent losses whenever this employee was on duty ba out how long does that take hours so let me ask you this last question throughout the time that you've been here you think you stole more than $750 7 I don't think so you don't think so I guess I have I I guess I I don't think I think some of the times if you see me taking 20s it was exchanging money okay so I didn't think the exchange The Exchange does happen the problem is you're not putting in what you're taking out so that's not an exchange no how is that an exchange but I I take I do I I know but I don't take you know you know you're you know the game you're playing you still know how to handle this my daughter right isn't there way we could handle this out of jail I'm sorry Tino said so that I've been able to yeah I asked him many times I can't believe he's doing this is what I I mean I I understand the issue this is what I mean he treats us all so badly all of us and honestly i' I've told him I was going to start looking for another job because all of us feel so walked all over by and I understand that sow that's sow to the hospital I'm going to have an anxiety ATT okay what's an anxiety and C just for I don't know what to do does it allow you to breathe I I mean I'm you faint do you faint do you feel like you're going to pass out I don't do you want to get checked out realizing that the evidence was stacked against her the woman's attitude shifted she began to reluctantly admit involvement though she seemed overwhelmed and pleaded for leniency asking the officer to consider her situation and not pursue harsh consequences she acknowledged that she had taken the money but tried to justify her actions though her explanations were vague and did little to mitigate the seriousness of the situation you're only delaying it by doing that but I can get you right now I don't want to delay it can do you want an ambulance take one of my medications no I can't allow you to take any meds because I don't know what they are I'm not a doctor I'm not going to start doing all of this yes taken yes or no because I don't know I know but I then I'm going to go into all right let me get you on ambulance 16 I'm just like boggled I don't know what to do I don't know how to take care of my daughter I don't know I'm going to try to ask her right my dog is going to be traumatized is what I'm really really worried about she's going to be afraid that like I said she just lost her father to cancer unexpectedly we didn't know he had it and he went into the hospital and come off and I don't want her to already having problems with her she's I mean bad bad problems with Tino can I please talk to you for a minute you know please talk to you please can I talk to you just for please I don't know what to do with my child that's who I'm worried about do you have do you have a friend what do you have a friend no despite her please the officer continued the process explaining that the theft was a significant violation of trust and that the law required accountability for her actions following standard protocol the officer proceeded to place her under arrest explaining her rights and the charges she would face based on the investigation he says is $19,000 there's no way there's no way there's absolutely so that's why I asked you you give me an estimate how much you think you've stolen not not nowhere near that then how much a few couple hundred over 6 months I would take like $2 a day $20 a day or so yeah I mean I know that that's not correct that's not the right thing to do but I did not steal $199,000 list that's what he's going to claim so that's why I'm asking you that's the way he does things he's the most rotten person I've ever met I can't believe he's doing this to me right now so obviously you know you're fir from here yes and your TransPass I don't know if has to do anything with Walmart these are are very very expensive I don't want to lose these my purse somewhere as she was escorted to the patrol vehicle she continued to ask for Mercy but the officer reminded her that her action over the years had serious consequences that could not be ignored that's it was on the station oh wait I have to get air out okay I me I'm sorry I'm also just got pregnant you're pregnant yes how far long are you month month or two a month or two okay did you go to the doctor yet I my appointments on Monday okay how many sticks you pee on that's couble real hard to believe huh yeah but yeah is this your first no oh okay well then you all right so I'm just going to patch you down part is there anything on your person I should know about no guns knives weapons of mass destruction I'll P of hideing in your pocket anything that'll cut me gross me I'll stick near you have to go home but I want to go home sorry no not me sorry I'm just going to pat you down out once the suspect was secured in the patrol car the officer reassured the store employees and manager that the matter would be handled through legal channels the manager thanked the officer for their assistance expressing relief that the case was finally being addressed after years of financial losses and suspicions later the woman was presented in court facing charge of grand theft she took her case to trial lost and was sentenced to 2 years in a Florida State Prison if you enjoyed this video be sure to hit the like button share your thoughts in the comments section and
