on December 8th 2022 officers were called to a shopping mall after two women were suspected of shoplifting store employees reported that the women had concealed [Applause] merchandise purs [Applause] arrived they spotted the suspects but instead of stopping both women ran triggering a foot pursuit a Chase started through the outlet as police shouted for running to stop officers warned by using a taser while demanding compliance K the ground K on the ground I got one secure stupid as jur you good yeah you got here yeah over by I4 you yep what is this one suspect was caught and an officer checked on another who confirmed being okay another suspect was pursued near I4 as police kept running to stop hey stop stop hey stop running you're going to get tased you're going to get tased stop running get the other girl get the other girl do not move do not move face the wall man trying to pay for my [ __ ] you're going to get get the on the ground now the ground get on ground get on your got money that girl just not me stop stop resisting I'm not res the first woman was forced to the ground and handcuffed as she resisted the second suspect was also caught after officers used commands and force to rest Trin her both women continued to argue denying any wrongdoing they claimed they had money and were trying to pay for their items she just getting her bed get up come on bro I'm yelling those other girls that just walked out of there just left because something was going on I'm in there shopping why would I be in there that long I have money in my purse the officer reassured the suspect about belongings while another confirmed a suspect was being held the suspect continued explaining the situation and claimed money was present for shopping denial of theft was repeated and a confrontation with an Old Navy employee was mentioned all three of them Buzz out of everything what am I what did I [Applause] do you have an ID in there you have any weapons in there no okay what's your name [Music] we're right in front of Forever 21 if you walk in through sacks go all the way through you'll see us that's crazy all right you have a Florida license is just not with you yeah I about an ID but the suspect denied having one weapons were also denied the officer confirmed the suspect's location the suspect denied claiming mistaken identity another person's involvement was her right there short she Wasing right there the black girl she grabbed the sweater she walked this and put that and when she walked out she beat out and they looked up they see me they we ain't together I promise I just seen somebody who I went to school with and just H her that's it okay she left before us how we together and they left we all would have walked out on one cour the suspect described seeing someone from school and hugging them before an incident began the police were blamed for chasing someone else which allegedly caused Panic the suspect felt unfairly targeted a claim was made that store employees actions caused theft to happen you get what I'm saying make it if we all together why would they three leave us he bang the officer had hit my head on the concrete I was running me why I'm leaving you right now make sure and then before you count it up with you all right anywh pun my make it pleaseed and three I'm cash out a we can't really do anything for here we can we can just we just want to make sure you're walking and talking all that the suspect admitted to taking items stating frustration over being watched anger over being stereotyped was expressed and the theft was described as intentional due to that frustration you feel di anything 2 apprciate what we should have did just felt so Dum go ahead but he scared me bro the way they charged at me can I show whether items were stolen for resale the suspect claimed everything was for personal use citing personal and Babys sized items the suspect insisted enough money was made from legitimate work and a peanut business run cter did did you um did you see any physical contact between them going through here I had no physical contact the police officer and the girl no there's no physical contact what about outside did you see any of that no I did not see I'm not going to Chas somebody like that just mon me I'll let you do your job man all right thank you chasing nobody thank you sir yeah you're suspect's phone for messages related to selling stolen goods the suspect allowed access and showed recent posts messages were reviewed confirming no discussions about stolen items oh you looking for actually oh um so we got the statement receipt uh did you get the video by chance no they were still working on that um Randy said they're still working on that but we uh we we normally send the link to Gabby and then she'll she'll um Sor we we'll send the link to Gabby for the video yeah the second suspect was also questioned and checked for online activity the claim was made that no stolen items were sold the officer confirmed property handling before proceeding with transport no NOP not in there okay all right sir all right what's up all right come on over here come this way no weapons guns nothing like that on you you heard what's up you would have heard the gun if I had a gun you would have heard it yeah it it would have hit a ground that what I'm saying the here quick look look please commands one suspect kept demanding her car keys while the other insisted she had not stolen anyar so since I can fit one finger in that's that's good this is fine the other one did I can loosen it up before and during question do you understand if you cannot afford a lawyer and you want one one will be provided for you at the station officers processed the suspects and reviewed surveillance footage the women continued to claim innocence insisting they were unfairly targeted for questioning without charge yes sir has anyone threatened you or promised you anything to get you to talk to me no sir so are you uh taking this up to sell it is that the intention no I promise I'm going to be honest it was for me myself it was if you look at everything it was my size and my baby size nothing
