So I will try to do what you want me to do, but like I can't guarantee that I can do that, but whatever. >> So So here's what we'll do. You do have one leg that doesn't have a broken foot, correct? So Officer Albanese is going to run you through a test that's called the one-legged stand test, all right? >> But I can't >> I know it works like that. I know I know, but we're going to try the best we can, but before we do that Very gentle, right? >> Yeah. >> Before we do that, Officer Vega is going to do a just a quick test on your eyes real quick, so >> Okay, fine. >> What's your name, dear? >> Carolyn Murray. >> Carolyn, I'm sorry. Can you see the tip of my pen where my finger is? >> I can do that. >> I want you to look at the tip of the thing Excuse me, the tip of my pen where my finger is. Just follow it with your eyes. Don't move your head. Do you understand? >> Mhm. >> Okay. Just follow with your eyes. Don't move your head. Just like that. Okay. >> my god, I'm totally messed up. >> I got you. I got you. >> The food is like totally [ __ ] me up. >> Okay. Well, how about can you just keep your balance then? Don't put your feet so close together. >> I will try that with my boot. No, if that's not comfortable I want to I don't want you to get messed up. So, whatever's comfortable. If you got to separate your feet, go right ahead. You feel like you're better stabilized if you're standing like I am right now? >> I will try the best that I can. >> Okay, I don't want you to fall. That's why I'm asking. >> I'll try the best that I can. >> Okay, you're good keeping your feet like that? >> I will try. >> Okay. >> But then when you put it like that or that, like okay, I will try. I'm like if it's that far, that messes me up. >> Okay. Can you put your hands at your side again? All right. Like I said, just follow the tip of my I put it Can you see that? >> Mhm. >> Okay. Follow with your eyes. Just keep following with your eyes. Try not to move your head. Just keep following with your eyes. I know you're starting to shake. Relax a little bit. How's your balance? Still good? Okay, one more. Just keep following it. You see it? >> Yeah, I can't see it so well. Okay. >> All right, relax for a second. Just uh like Sergeant Gill said before, just listen to what Officer Albano is going to tell you. He's going to have you do a test with your your good foot. Okay? >> All right, Kathleen. Um so again, we're going to attempt to do this test with your good foot. So, your right foot. Okay, do you understand that? >> Okay. >> You understand? This is only test number two, okay? >> Okay. It's hard. >> Why Why is it hard? Cuz of your boot? >> Yeah, I >> Just try and do it with your right foot, okay? We're going to do your right foot. Okay? >> I understand. >> All right, well we'll we'll just see how it goes, okay? I'm going to read you instructions. I just want you to do exactly as I say. We'll see how it goes, okay? >> Do you have anything wrong with injuries or anything with your right foot that would prevent you from doing a balancing test? >> Um I had a surgery like a long time ago, but whatever. It's okay. I'll be fine here now. >> I want to make sure you can do it so I can take that into account. That's why I'm asking. What happened to your left foot? >> Um two surgeries. Like it's messed up. I had a surgery like 13 years ago. Like, whatever. Like, it's okay. I can't do this balance thing, but whatever. >> Only on your right foot, can you at least try with your >> I can try, but I'm like not going to be great at it. I'll tell you guys this. >> Oh, that's why I'm asking cuz we're going to take that into account. That's that's why. >> Okay. I'll give it a whirl. Let's go. >> All right. Just do exactly as I Just do exactly as I say to the best of your ability, okay? >> Okay. >> I want you to stand with your feet together and your arms at your side like this. You see how I'm doing this? >> Yeah. >> Okay, can you keep your feet together for me? >> I can try. >> Okay. So, go ahead and put your feet together as best you can. Perfect. Maintain this position until told otherwise, okay? >> All right. >> When I tell you to, I want you to raise one leg, either one, approximately 6 in off the ground. Foot pointed out with both legs straight and look at the elevated foot, okay? So, I'm going to demonstrate for you, okay? >> Okay, go ahead. I'm just going to watch him. Yeah. >> I don't know. Just try to stand in that one spot. >> So, you're going to stand hands at your side, feet together. You're going to lift either foot you want. In this case, you're going to raise your left foot. As such, approximately 6 in off the ground and you're going to look at the point of your foot, okay? You see how I'm doing this? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay, so you understand what I just >> 30 seconds. >> Do you understand what I just told you so far? Okay. >> You got to keep your You got to keep your your foot parallel with the ground. >> Okay. >> So, >> When you're when you're ready, just raise it up and you want to keep your foot >> parallel with the ground. >> Just like how I'm doing it right now, okay? >> I get that. Can I do that without having an extra like weight on my arm? >> On your arm? >> Like, my leg. Like Okay, fine. >> If you if you would feel more comfortable removing the boot, that that's completely your call. >> I I can't >> So, once you begin when >> Okay. >> When you begin the test, I want you to count out loud in the following manner: 1,001, 1,002, 1,003, 1,004, and so on until told to stop. You're just going to keep going until I tell you to stop. There's not a set number, okay? >> Okay. >> Do you understand these instructions? >> Yes, I do. >> Okay. You may begin. >> It would be hard. Okay. >> Hands at your side. >> My side. I'd rather them behind. >> Are you able to perform this test, Kathleen? >> I'm not sure. >> Okay. You want You want me to demonstrate one more time? I'll give you Okay. >> want that. I want to hold on to something. But, I can't. >> Okay. Unfortunately, that would defeat the purpose of the test. >> I don't want that. Um I would love to do it on my left leg, but can I do it on the other leg? >> So so your your left >> You can do it whatever leg you'd want, but because your left leg is the injured one, we thought that's the one you wanted to raise. But, you could do either leg you want, whichever one feels stronger, more comfortable. But, remember, hands at your side, both feet together. >> Yeah. >> And then you may begin, okay? >> the better one. Okay. Okay. >> All right, just follow the turn around. >> Okay. All right, Kathleen. >> 1,001. >> Kathleen, I don't We don't want you to fall over here. >> 1,001. >> Kathleen, we're going to >> 1,002. Like 1,002. No, I can do it. No, listen. >> Kathleen >> No, listen. I can do it. >> No. >> Listen. I can try it. No. >> Listen. I can try it. Listen. Oh my god, listen. I can try it on the other one. >> we're not judging you at all. Listen, you obviously had too much to drink. Oh my god, I can try it on the other leg. >> It's not just that text, it's everything else, too, okay? >> Can I not try it? >> No, we're past that point. >> I can try it. >> What's your name? >> I could have tried it. >> Kathleen. >> I could have tried it. >> I'm going to pay for Kathleen's car. >> Everybody one under. >> Kathleen, I'm going to pay for your car. >> Delta one.
