Shove your heads. Turn your heads. Jonathan, get back. Get back. [Music] Show your heads right now. Driver, what can you tell me about these dogs back here? Which Which ones? Oh, the dead ones. Let's start with that. The dead ones. Yeah. So, she's laying on the floor face down with her shorts are down past her buttocks. Her blouse is up to her neck and she has a hold about the size of a of a silver doll on the left side of her skull. Any cop who has seen a lot of action in the line of duty has enough stories to fill a library. These stories run the gamut from uplifting and optimistic to wild and humorous and even dark and disturbing. Today's episode showcases moments when good cops are horrified after making terrifying discoveries. So, when's the last time he's been to a doctor? Uh, that's a good question. Okay. Is he up to date on his immunizations? Uh, that's a good question. Okay. On October 17th, 2023, police and the Department of Children's Services in Mojave County, Arizona, visited a home after receiving a tip about a 4-year-old child living in a state of squalor and severe neglect. There's literally so many cans. Oh god. And we have started to grow on the can. Oh my gosh. Oh my god. Hey. Hi. I'm Jessica. I'm with DCS. How are you, honey? Okay. So, I have to come in and do an investigation. Make sure he seems unsafe. I will help. You'll get what? My mom's a I have so many I have to come in the house. Yeah. Then I have to remove him. I haven't. So is that where he sleeps? Okay. So what are we going to do about cleaning up? Not bad. Come on. Oh my god. Okay. One could easily confuse this home for a junkyard or a landfill. Apart from all the trash littered inside and outside, it appeared no one had cleaned in years. Was this a family of hoarders? Or did they suffer some other psychological illness? That's not the working part. No, this one is um right now we don't have much. I was working on food and stuff. Okay. But he does have a burger. He did have a burger. When did he eat that burger? Your child needs to eat every single day. When did he eat that burger? How long ago, sir? It been that long. Okay. Hi, I'm Jessica. I'm with CF. Yeah, I know. Okay. And this was not going to be like this in the morning. I was looking for something. We're just Okay, so this has to Oh, yeah. It will. It's just that we finally got the father out. Okay. At least for the night. He's been doing this for a while, but he's been I don't understand what's going on with him. 12 years, he doesn't know. Yeah, the cops are hurting. Yes. Yeah. We have two police officers here. I'm back. You're back. Yes, ma'am. So, we see every single day take a bath. You guys need to figure something out with this fridge. All right. Or it needs to be removed or you need to fix it or something cuz this child needs to eat. There's open wires. Like this child needs to eat, right? This house did some work on it. But every time I was doing work on it, I'm paying all the bills. I understand. That's I heard. I pay all of them. So, I have no money to put into anything in here. Yeah. DCS learned that living in the house were a grandmother, grandfather, mother, a 4-year-old boy, and the boy's father who came and went as he pleased. Unsurprisingly, the family dynamic lacked harmony. Okay. So, what I'm going to give you guys a a diddy to inform notice. Okay. It said notice to duty informance. So, I'm informing you that DCS you now have an open DCS case. Okay. So, we'll be back in the morning, but I'm going to get in the morning. I don't know. But you guys need to figure it out. We're going to be in your lives until this is taken care of. Well, yeah, I'm willing to do it, but he just with him here. It's a drama. Okay. We're I'm not I'm not worried about him. I'm worried about the baby. I don't coming back because then you call the police and then they come and remove him again and then he can go to jail or whatever they do, whatever their standards are. This is like the third time I've called. Yeah. So then you just got to keep calling. Then you got to get yourself a protective order. That's what we talked about, right? Yeah. So those are things we have to get done, right? Order protection or the eviction. Okay. So those are things that have to be done and you have to get some food in this house. Well, yeah. I I don't like it. Like this really bugs me, but he would get mad. He'll throw. Okay. Well, so that again, he's gone now. So, right now, all I'm worried about is Brandon. Like, I You guys are adults. You guys can fit for yourself. He can't fend for himself. Mom, we can't f He can't He can't f for himself. He can't say anything like, "Hey, I don't feel safe here. Hey, my my mom and dad are fighting." Or, "He's four." You would think that the adults who were out of work would have plenty of time to tidy the place. And although the grandmother tried blaming everything on the boy's father, all the adults shared equal responsibility for allowing a four-year-old to experience such squalid living conditions. As promised, authorities returned the next day to follow up on the case. So, what's going on with the house? Like, it doesn't look real good. No. What's going on with all the little fires everywhere? Uh, that box back there, right? But there's burned stuff everywhere. Does the house frequently start on fire? No, it was a 100 time. [Music] What are on his fingers? Are those tampon applicators? So, my report also indicates that you're in a relationship with grandpa. No. You guys, but it's not like that. My dad feeds. He gives me cigars. He has a bed like he's just crawling and B if I don't if there's no toilet made I mean if he's asleep on the couch I just have to crawl up on the floor asleep. Where's grandpa? Okay. So everybody's sleeping with grandpa. Not everybody. Well, you said you do and he does. The dialogue with this mother was not encouraging. Her manner of speech suggested something was wrong. Perhaps it was due to a traumatic brain use or both. The overtones of possible incest were also nauseating. The DCS representative then spoke to the child's father. So, when's the last time he's been to a doctor? Uh, that's a good question. Okay. Is he up to date on his immunizations? Uh, that's a good question. Okay. Um, is he meeting his milestones? Daycare? Uh, we don't do daycare, but I do try to work with him from time to time, you know, with letters and shapes and sets. What about potty training? Potty training? Uh, if I can get him to cooperate. Sometimes he does go on his own. Sometimes he does want to go. Okay. Which is kind of why I had his diaper off earlier. I didn't take it off. He took his own off. So, he's been taking his underwear off on his own, and he didn't want to put his underwear on. So, I figured maybe that he'll pee one time and realize, hey, there's something coming out of there. Okay. So, what's going on with the relationship with Tissa and her grand dad? I don't know. It's probably just a figment of my imagination, all the stress and stuff. Hey, so what do you think's going on? I don't think anything's going on, you know? I did some hard thinking last night. It's probably just, you know, her trying to get away from the fighting when I'm not trying to fight with her. Just trying to talk, you know what I mean? So, she's just goes to her dad like any any daughter would. You know what I mean? None of this was normal. It wasn't clear who was calling the shots in the household. The house is a complete mess and the child alarmingly seemed so used to such poor living conditions. By the looks of it, there is no responsible adult in the family. Okay, guys. So, I talked with my supervisor and we got a lot of concerns. We need to get figured out. What? Baby, I'm sad. I know you're sad. But look, grandma get her house done and then we'll work with these people and get you back. Okay. Yeah. You have to be a good good boy when you go to grandma's. Okay. Grandma will do everything she can to get you back. Okay. I love you. And I'm going to get you set up for I love you. So, I'm going to come back out. Do you know I love you? And you know grandma will do everything to get you back. Okay. Great grandma for me. Okay. It won't be long. Grandma will do everything to get you back. Ready to go for a ride? Are you hungry? Yeah. Yeah. Starving. Marvin, what's your favorite food? If you could eat anything, what would it be? Yeah. Yeah. You want nugies? Yeah. I like nuggies. Let's order some nugies. Thankfully, it was time for the state of Arizona and the Department of Child Services to take custody of the child. In the year that followed, the mother was arrested and charged with felony child abuse as a vulnerable adult. On December 22nd, 2024, Sergeant Hager of Monroe County Sheriff's Department in Florida was dispatched after a report of domestic violence. Upon arrival, he witnessed a 51-year-old man named Armando beating up on his wife. What happened next was pure chaos. Say one of arrival. They're here. He just stole my patrol car. He stole my patrol car. neutral. He's running northbound. Lights are on. He tried to take my gun for my holster. In his report, Sergeant Hager revealed he had to pull the wife beater, Armando, away from his wife. Before stealing the police cruiser, Armando tried to snatch Sergeant Hagar's firearm, but was unsuccessful. A young child also got pulled into the altercation, but was thankfully not badly injured. Send meds to me. The wife is up pretty beat up. Get out. Get out. [Music] I got a baseball. This looked like a scene straight from Grand Theft Auto. After beating up his wife and stealing a police car, Armando ditched the cop car and quickly hopped into another innocent civilian's vehicle. On adrenaline overdrive, he set off a high-speed chase. But after a few short minutes, he lost control and flipped the vehicle. Shove your heads. Shove your heads. Jonathan, get back. Get back. your hands. Turn your hands right now. Driver with a knife. He's moving. Hands up. Let me see your head. Let me see your hands. Hey, buddy. Come on. Can you hear us? Can you hear us? Hello. You can hear me? Hey, talk to me. Talk to me. Break the glass. Break the glass. Get the out. Get the We need your hands. Hands. hands. Put up your hands. Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Yes. Come on. Come on. Get out of the car. Okay. Stay on the ground. Get down on the ground. Get Get down the ground. Get down on the ground. Stop. Stop. We're okay. We're okay. We're okay. We're okay. Put your hands behind your back. Someone call for rescue now. Cops clocked Armando going 135 mph on radar. It's nothing short of a miracle that he was still alive. Next, the officer's focus immediately shifted to making sure he received prompt medical attention. As EMS was preparing to take him, one officer recognized him from a previous arrest. Would you believe after all that he still had a bad attitude? Thank you, bro. You remember me? Saved my life. You remember me, man? What's your last name? I don't know about the last name, but I I was your last I was with you on the last You can sit up by yourself. You need my name. What was What was your officer? Harold. Harold. No, I don't remember. You the last person who wrestled me. It was like from Caribbean Club. They You remember? Oh, yeah. The one that beat you. Let's get him on the back board. Yeah, he's those cuffs. I I can't have them on the back board like that. Have to move it forward like Well, it's against our SOPs, but if you're saying on camera that you're taking responsibility for that after a forceful felony, we are. Okay. Taking charge of the scene command. Danny, since it's like that already, why don't we just slide it under? Yeah. Yeah, that's fine. Tell me when to move the shield. Okay, I'll hold them up. Okay. You want me to uncover them while you hold them up or officer? Lift up from outside. Lift up in the [Music] shoulder. Ready? There we go. While Armando was brought to the hospital and checked for any life-threatening injuries, medics also returned to the scene of the original crime to check on Armando's wife and children. But my head is really bad. Okay, I know. We're going to take care of your head. Well, did he punch you? Is that what he's just punching? She tried to kill me. Yeah. He said he was going to kill you. Okay. You need to check her son. Can you check her son, too? I was on I was on top of her son for like 2 minutes. Yeah. He was trying to take my gun and I was like I was smothering your son. Do you got him? Yeah. Like I was like on top of him. He's fine right now. But do you got him? Yeah. Yeah. The guy. Yeah, we got him. Yeah, you're good. You're good. Because you guys did so good and you're such good kids. I got you this for you. Oh, wait. You have a little brother. So you like Stitches. Good. Say, "Are you okay? You okay? Can I get a hug?" Yes. And you you guys are related to them, so you guys are going to be able to take care. Okay. All right. That's your sister? My the one's my niece. Okay. All right. Is he he's okay? I was literally laying on him for like 2 minutes. He's fine. Okay. Yeah. You okay? Can get a high five. No high five. Oh, you got a boo boo. I'm sorry. That's your dad's fault. Without a doubt, one of the most heinous forms of crime is violence against children and women. Sergeant Hager and his colleagues should feel proud for heroically saving multiple lives that afternoon. Meanwhile, after getting medically cleared, Armando was transported to jail. However, his attitude remained as repulsive as ever. Take me here. Oh, damn. That wasn't hard enough. All right. I just hit my head. I didn't see you hit your head. I felt it. You see it? All right. You want to go back in there? Come on, bro. Get up. All right. Let's go. We got to get him up. Why, Mr. All right, let's get him up. How we doing? Hey, we're trying to help you out, man. Put the seat belt on. Come on, bro. Just It's fun for the day. Just Just please just do it for the day. After this, you can figure it out. Easy, easy, easy. Easy, easy, easy. I don't want him to top over. Get him in there. Bro, stop resisting. I'm not resisting. Yes, you are. You're pushing back on the officer, bro. I just saw I just saw you. Stand up, bro. I just saw you. You're not standing up. You're sitting down. Me in the car like this. You're sitting down. Just sit up, bro. Please sit up. All right. Put your feet towards you. Let me sit up. We're going to let Listen to me. Everyone sit up. Everyone be quiet. We're going to let you sit up. Put your feet inside. We got you, bro. We got you. Put your feet in there. It's fine. Don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. You wait. Stay in there. Stay in there. Armando received a list of charges a mile long, including attempted murder, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment, grand theft of a motor vehicle, carjacking without a firearm, reckless driving, and fleeing police at a high rate of speed. His case is still being processed, but there's a good chance he'll spend the rest of his life behind bars. On a freezing winter's day on January 8th, 2025 in Oklahoma, police received a call about a case of animal abuse. A concerned neighbor informed 911 dispatch that several dogs have been left out in the cold. The dog says in the kennel. Okay. Them people been back and forth over here yesterday and today. So if they say they didn't know, do not let them wipe you. And that girl in the maroon truck just left here cuz I was taking. So I came out and I threw a rock. I said, "Puppy, puppy." They're both freaking both of them. And those people been here yesterday and today. So they got a nose and dog kennel. And then they got a dog tied to the tree back there. They got a dog in this kennel. And they don't think I'll take them in. These is little dogs. This one has been like I know it's at least a year old. And one is right over there at the gate, which is a puppy. Can't be no more than two or 3 months. About 2 months. The concerned woman should be considered a local hero. It takes courage to call the police on your next door neighbor because there's always a chance they'll attempt to retaliate or exact revenge. As the investigation continued, law enforcement were shocked by what they found. Dude, I think it is. I think I'm a seed. I thought maybe it was choking itself by accident, but the vet right [Music] now. This is ridiculous. This is insane. There's another dog right there, baby. Oh, that's a chicken. Yeah, they got chickens. Yeah, I feel real shitty right now just letting that happen. Are we sure there's no more? We I don't know out here. I don't know. She said that's that's where that's what we got. That dog's dying. This is two dogs that look like they've haven't had food or water in forever and one of them currently having an active seizure. Yeah, they're damn close. It looks like it's about to die. These people Yeah. It couldn't have been easy for the group of officers to walk through this frozen graveyard of dead and dying canines. Fortunately, in the US, there are strong animal cruelty laws in place that aimed to protect pets from heartless owners. And these officers had every intention of exercising the full weight of the law. You got Hey. Hey. How's it going, man? Pretty good. Hey, why don't you grab your ID and step out here for me? Okay. What can you tell me about these dogs back here? Which Which ones? Oh, the dead ones. Let's start with that. The dead ones. Yeah. Didn't know that. Didn't know there's any dead ones out there. Come on. Let me let me come show you while we're here. Yes, sir. I'm going to be honest with you, man. It looks like they starved to death and then froze to death. Yeah, they had food, but And then you got this one back here that's been actively having a seizure the entire time I've been here. And then this one over here also looks like it hasn't eaten in a week. When was the last time you fed him? Well, not day before yesterday, so um we give him scrap. The lack of remorse visible on the owner's face was revealing. His heart like the weather seemed cold. Plus, he exhibited no sense of urgency to act to save the dogs that were clinging to life at that moment. Kayla. Yes. Hey, did he tell you what this is all about? Uh well, he told me that my dog is bad and stuff, but you have your ID. Uh grab it for me. I'm freaking out. Yeah, it's this going to be a kind of a shock. This is crazy. That dog can't be out longer than 30 minutes because So, here's what happened. That dog over there's water is frozen solid. Okay, the two puppies in this kennel are they're dead and emaciated. Okay, I check these dogs get prefed and I check them every single day. Yep. This was not like this yesterday. Well, it didn't happen overnight. And this dog looks like this because she had puppies and she I have contacted a vet and everything about her um not gaining any weight. Okay. Which vet have you talked to? Karen Brock. Did you take them to it? I took Yes. I got her wormed and everything. Okay. When? Uh, a couple months ago. And I just I feed We feed her all kinds of stuff and cannot get her to gain weight. And the one in the back the one in the back here has been having an active seizure since we showed up. That's been 30 minutes ago. Okay. So, obviously this is not good. Do you know about this dog having seizure or is this new? No, this is new. This is all new. It was not like this. Was Kayla telling the truth or was she just trying to save face? All good pet owners know that food, water, and shelter from extreme weather is the bare minimum needed to ensure their well-being. This was literally torture. Okay. Can she Can they stay with grandma? Yes. Okay. Put your hands behind your back. All right. You're both going to be under arrest for five counts of felony animal cruelty. 408 dispatch. What does this mean? 10:15 two times. Do what? What does this mean? Will I have a bond? I I doubt it. You're going to have five felony charges. Okay. I I understand that, but I have this is nothing like this will ever happen. So, can you explain that to me, please? Which which part would you like me to explain? When how when will I get a bond or how this is? Well, with with these felony charges, you're likely going to have to have your bond set by a judge. Okay. You may have one tomorrow. I'm not going to try to do anything. No, I understand. I treat everybody the same. Okay. What's wrong? I fix it. I fix take it into the facility. Then that becomes a felony. Here's I promise I I don't do I literally have absolutely nothing. I don't even It's nothing personal. Okay. We tell everybody the same thing the same morning breath. I literally don't have nothing. All right. Go and have a seat. Both owners were taken to jail where they remained for a week before they were granted bond. The five counts of felony animal cruelty are still pending with each count carrying a maximum penalty of 5 years behind bars in the state of Oklahoma. It was March 30th, 2023 in St. Petersburg, Florida, when 911 dispatch was contacted after someone had made a terrifying discovery at a residential community. As police arrived on the scene, they met a concerned mother who had been unable to contact her daughter for many hours and was worried sick. Now, who is it that you were reporting missing? My daughter, Passion Jeffrey, baby and her son, Tayen Mosley. She just moved out here in February. She She moved here in February. What apartment? um 3616. When did you last hear from her? Yesterday around 5 and between uh 1 I was on the phone with her between 1 and I was out here at their house about 4:30 and everybody was normal. The only thing the baby was in sleep in the room with the door closed up a little bit. Okay. So, you last saw her at 4:30 yesterday and everything seemed fine. 4:30 up to 5:00. Okay. So, 4:30. Yes. Everything was okay? Yes. She wasn't concerned about anything. Nothing was upsetting her. Um, she was just upset about the birthday. By his birthday, the baby daddy birthday. Does the baby daddy live with her? No, he was just um standing and I a couple times since the um since March the 12th since Tayen just turned 2 years old. So he's not Jenn What's his name? Baby daddy. Thomas. Do you know Thomas's last name? Mostly like the babies. Is he a white or black man? He black with dreads. And he was there? Yeah. When I left cuz I brought him a uh um glasses shades like you socks. It was his birthday, right? And we ate ice cream with him. And Pashon's mother, Lita, was able to remain fairly calm in what must have been an extremely traumatic moment. As police continued the investigation, they discovered details terrifying beyond their wildest imagination. They interviewed a property maintenance manager who had stumbled into a ghastly scene. I walked around them and I that's when I saw her on the ground. Did you hear a child? Did you hear? No. I tried to look for the kid. I tried to do a quick look through the bedroom and and behind the sofas and I didn't see nothing. The girl from downstairs said, "Was the front door open or did you open it?" No, I opened it. You had to open it with the key? I put the key in and turned it. Now, if it was open, I don't know cuz I was so But I didn't realize that. I put my hand under the door before we need you to stay with us for for a little while and it's going to be a little while cuz we're going to have detectives investigators coming in. I actually live on the property. Stay with us. Like we don't want to make lose you outside of you cuz we're going to have to go doing a lot of things. Yeah. The detectives need to talk to you. All right. All right. Is it Do I live right there 50? Is it all right if I go and talk to my wife? My wife is just let her know. Yeah. We don't want to I don't want to have you go. All right. I'm assuming the door was locked because the guarantor was on the property. Yeah. And she was banging on the door and the young lady from underneath [Music] my fingerprints. The neighbor downstairs, the neighbor downstairs said that she heard last night a bunch of screaming and door slamming and the baby crying. The maintenance man's testimony was extremely helpful. Although police wanted to keep him within their sights, he had nothing to worry about because he was completely innocent. First and foremost, they needed to track down Pashon's son, Talon, as quickly as possible as they feared time was of the essence. As for Pashon, it was already too late. You didn't touch the body or anything? No, I didn't touch the body or anything. As soon as I looked at her, you can tell she's gone. She has a bone on the left hand side of her skull. I've been doing this job for 30 years now. And I say that in the 30 years I've been doing this, I found maybe 35, 40 people because I worked in it with a lot of old people, right? And they've all been natural. This is the first one since I've been here in Florida that I found and I've never seen a crime scene. Yeah. Wow. What did you see when you went up there? Well, there's blood and bloody footprints all over the apartment. Yeah, I saw that when I went to towards the bedroom cuz I was my concern was the kid and her safety. I said I saw the bathroom door was closed. So I pushed the bathroom door open. I said she's laying on the floor face down with her shorts are down past her buttocks. Her blouse is up to her neck and she has a hole about the size of a of a silver dollar on the left side of her skull. But between the ear and the skull right about here. And you didn't see any signs of the child, right? No. I tried as I was backing out, I tried to look around the apartment. I loo I did walk into the room, looked around the side of the bed, and I backed out of the apartment. And as I was walking out, I tried to look behind the sofa, but I didn't want to, you know, contaminate too much in there. Mhm. So, I walked right out the door, but I didn't see anything. 2-year-old Tayen Mosley was found several days later inside the jaws of an alligator. It turned out that the father, Thomas Mosley, had dumped his son into alligatorinfested waters after stabbing Poshune more than a hundred times. He was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder. The darkest crimes are the ones committed against the most vulnerable in society. After today's episode, you might want to find the nearest baby or fur baby and give them some extra love. Thank you for watching. See you again next time.
