Hey. Hey, sir. Hey. You're not freely. >> Hey, that's your >> You you won't play these little games or whatever and stuff like that. >> I don't know why you guys have to freaking harass me all the time. Like, you guys been harassing me since 2018. Please be in jail, bro. Don't [ __ ] me in jail. When officers respond to reports of stalkers, they know that a lot is at stake. With a lot of women being abducted or abused daily, time is of the essence. When cops have to save girls from creepy stalkers, >> as long as you like focus on something like hard enough, you'll come across what you need to find. A lot of the parts of my head that used to [laughter] not find peace have found peace. And I'm like, how could that be nothing less but love for someone else? >> Social media influencers strive for fame. But sometimes that fame can attract the wrong kind of audience. [music] One female Tik Tok creator learned that the hard way when a man allegedly stalked her across multiple states for several months. The officers caught the man walking barefoot down the porch stairs and into the victim's yard. Stay >> at the front of my car for me. I'm standing at the front of my car. So, what are you over here knocking on this door for? >> I just want to know. >> Huh? >> I [clears throat] just wanted to >> Why do you need to greet them? >> How do you know though? Cuz obviously they called us saying we got this person knocking on our door. We don't want them here knocking on our door. >> Okay. So, what's um Do you know them personally? >> It's a girl [laughter] that >> Okay. I I'll leave him. I >> So, um, was this girl you dated or >> It's someone I know. >> It's someone you know. Okay. How do you know her? >> I That's like That's [laughter] okay. You got any ID on you? >> My car. [laughter] You have a driver's license? >> My wallet is currently at the YMCA. I apologize. >> The man was identified as K. Van Kai, a 30-year-old veteran from Seattle who recently left the military at Fort Bragg. The officer thanked him for his [music] service, not knowing that Kai actually went awall. >> So, did you know her from Washington? >> No. >> Okay. You only known her from Florida. >> Where are you staying at now? >> Right now. >> Mhm. She doesn't look I'm pretty much doing this on my car for the most part. Mhm. But uh I'm waiting for the VA to to get my college funding so I can go to college around here. >> Okay, good plan. Did you talk to them at all tonight? >> That's okay. the response here on TT1. >> Kai sounded so confident when he told the officer to feel free to check his information, but that's when the officer found out that the man left the military without permission. Even so, he managed not to get a dishonorable discharge. to make sure I'm fully understand. Um, >> do you understand the law of >> I'm sorry. Let's just >> The law of assumption is when you visualize and pinpoint something, focus something on something so hard, the world gives you information that you need to get to where you need to go. >> And I've been in homes for like seven months now. I have to following like and I just I'm here and then >> So were you in Washington when you visualized her? >> I was in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. That's big reason why I it was one day I think uh little stress came to me >> uh and I just [music] left post and I got caught being A1 and this is the whole this is the whole deal. Just follow try I honestly try to follow up. >> Okay. So you came Were you in North Carolina when you came across your Tik Tok and then you had the visualization? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> People fall in love all the time, but not many of them stalk their object of affection across the country for 7 months. The officer was clearly confused and it took some time for him to understand what Kai was saying. >> Awareness. As long as you like focus on something like hard, [music] >> you'll come across. >> All right. So bas basically when you visual started visualizing her >> Yeah. >> and [music] locations >> you were drawn to those locations and you were able to basically find >> Yeah. >> from I would assume stuff she posted on Tik Tok >> maybe. I don't know. Sometimes I don't know at all. Sometimes it just comes across. >> Now I have an understanding. [music] Okay. At first it's like okay why is this random person keep knocking on this other random [music] person's house? Okay. So, have you had any conversations [music] with her? >> In my own head, but now that it's come to this most likely because I thought she was honestly talking to me at Had a very spiritual level. >> Kai had convinced himself that the Tik Tocker he was following wasn't actually speaking to her 1 and a half million followers at all. In his mind, she was addressing only him because they had a deep spiritual connection. Even though he now realized he had made a mistake, he still believed the love he felt helped him heal. >> A lot of the parts of my head that used to not find peace, have found peace. And I'm like, how could that be nothing less but love for someone else? Cuz no one has been able to done that. No one's that like my dedication to the military. Like nothing >> I I have done has found peace in my own head like the way the image the vision of a dream of love did for me. Do you have any relationships with your military? >> Relations in the military aren't like >> they aren't they're not loving and caring and kind >> the way you need it. >> Maybe I've been soft and kind to myself. I don't know. >> But I No one's ever taught me how to do that. So I was thinking it must have had to been someone else. >> How long were you in for? >> Four years. >> Four years. Okay. So, you're going to be able to collect your benefits >> once I get ready to 14. >> Okay. >> All right. So, you're not in trouble for going awall in >> trouble for going awall. They let me off. >> Since the suspect didn't get a dishonorable discharge from the military, he was able to keep his benefits. And listening to his account, the officer naturally suspected he might be suffering from some mental health issues. >> Is this the first time this ever happened to you? >> Dreams. Yes. Yeah. Okay. So, are you on any medication or anything? >> They told me that I might I was like like this is a huge reason why I'm not getting disability either. >> Yeah. >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. >> For this for not being on a medication or having no psychological issues. >> All right. We're going to see what um I got to continue my conversation with my sergeant. see what the end game is, what they want from us and you where they want you to trespass from here. >> Okay. >> Um, so you can have a seat. >> It wasn't Kai's lucky day. The fantasy he built around a woman he'd never met collapsed. The deep spiritual love affair he imagined would not end up in romance, but with a sobering trip to jail. >> All right. Just to let you know, you're being placed under arrest. >> Okay. >> Okay. for stock. Go ahead and put your hands behind the back of your pants. You don't have anything stuffed up in here. Anything that deals for finding. >> All righty. Easier to find it now than it is. Kai's trouble didn't end there. His car had to be towed, which meant he would have to pay fines. But he was very forthcoming with the officers. So, one of the deputies expressed his gratitude and chatted with the man to ease his mind about going to jail. >> Thank you for being a decent person. It's unfortunate circumstance. It's been good. I hope that there's no evil in this world. You hope there's no evil. So I guess he had deputy back. He had spoken to a little bit about like what's going on and why >> prior to you guys a little bit too much. >> Kai certainly had trouble separating reality and fantasy. Hopefully it was just a case of misplaced affection and not a sign of deeper underlying issues. The suspect was arrested and charged with one count of stalking. He was later released on a $1,000 bond. Breakups can be painful, but for one young woman, it turned into a nightmare. On January 4th, 2025, her ex showed up at her home after he sent her more than 985 messages and threats. Luckily, she wasn't there, but her roommate was. Oh, I wasn't the one who conversed with him at all. Um, >> I was sitting on the couch watching the news coffee thing and then it's her ex-boyfriend to talk to her and I was like, I don't think she wants to talk to you about >> he refused to leave. >> He refused to leave. He said, "I just want to talk to her for two minutes." >> So, that was my heart >> because I was coming over to get her cuz we were supposed to go to breakfast this morning. >> So, I I'm the one who called the cops. >> I will call you guys. You are the cops. Sorry. I showed up here and I tried the gate and it was locked, but I saw someone sitting here and I assumed it was Paul and he got up and he walked up and unlocked the gate and opened it and he came out like this with his hands at my throat. And I stepped back and I went, "Whoa, who the are you? I'm calling the police." I didn't even know that kid was over here. And he was like, "Whoa, no, no." And then he like came back at me again and I was like, "Stop. I'm like I was dialing 911." I was like, "Stop." The victim's friend was caught off guard. She didn't know the man, yet he allegedly lunged at her. Then the suspect claimed he was only there to get his phone. And as soon as she mentioned calling the cops, he backed off. Allegedly, that was not the first time he had shown signs of aggression. >> And he's physically attacked her before. Like recently, >> it's been documented. >> Yeah, it's been documented. So, were you here when that happened? >> That's what happened in this location. >> Yeah, I read it. Um, okay. So, no crime occurred today. Basically, his reason for being allowed to be here was the phone. He's trespass warned, so he knows not to come back. Is he going to be a problem for you? >> Yes. >> Yes. I I really didn't think that he was going to continue to be a problem, but he's gotten >> some people. >> Well, he's threatened me. Yes. But like that's I' he's he's been an issue at work. >> So you work with him? >> No, he used to. He got fired for harassment >> of her. >> The officers said they would report it as a miscellaneous incident. But the day was far from over. When the officers left, the victim went over all the messages she got from her ex. And she found a video message with truly disturbing content. So she called the police >> today. >> Today. And my roommate answered the door. I didn't come out. Um he was refusing to leave until um and my friend, she had no clue what was going on. She's actually the one who called the police because he me and my roommate were inside. I didn't I was like debating like what do I do? And then um cuz I told my roommate, please like tell him not to leave. >> So the messages that you were scrolling through weren't from today. They were from yesterday before he came to my house, but there's one in particular. I didn't watch any of them until I got home today and there's one there was one video in particular. >> Okay. So, but that's what I'm saying. You didn't you hadn't reviewed him before the officer showed up. >> No, because I I wasn't expecting him to come to my house and I hadn't even I was still asleep. I hadn't seen any of this yet. >> The victim explained what had happened earlier that day and that officers Roman and Clark had already made a report about it. Then it came time for her to show them the chilling message from her ex, which prompted her to call the cops. So, you're receiving videos and more messages? >> No, this this was prior and I just reviewed it and this one sending me >> uncle involved. He'll put you six feet and I don't want to get like a couple other family members involved. They'll put you six, too. You don't know anything. You're just a piece of So, please stop. Stop. Stop trying to make me look like a person I'm not. Calm down. calm down before we put you sick. I'm just letting you know like my family doesn't like me. >> This was like a series of videos. >> Now, what about the messages? >> Well, I just didn't respond to them and then I said, "Don't contact me." He tried to keep contact me. I blocked him again. Um like this was after the police already talked to him and told him that if he came back here that he would be arrested. The problem had clearly escalated with threats being thrown. Even after being blocked on several messaging apps and told he was going to get arrested, the ex was still bold enough to show up at the victim's house and act aggressively. >> Your ex-boyfriend's name is Noah. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Do you know if he's been trespassed from here? >> They This is the first time that he's like showed up at my place. Like I was not talk like I was not responding to him. He came in here, started banging on the door. He was refusing to leave until he got um into an argument with Tori and Tori called the police. >> Part of that the last video. So, you saw that after you spoke with the other police officers? >> I saw once I got home from work because what woke me up was uh my roommate telling me that he was here. Gota >> and so I hadn't even had time because then I had to work to >> How did the video and him showing up make you feel? >> Scared. Okay. >> Because I mean and I mean he was >> scared. How can you be scared? How were you in fear for your life? >> Yeah. Like I just because I I mean he's put his hands on me before and it's been documented. >> Even though most of the messages and videos were just hurtful. The one where he threatened to put her six feet under was very troubling. The officers advised the young woman to get a restraining order as soon as possible. The following day, they paid Noah a visit. Are you Natalie? >> I am Natalie. >> Okay. I'm just gonna speak to you. So, Noah. >> Hey, Noah. >> I'm Officer Medina with Key West Police Star Department. >> All right. Since there's a lot of us here and all that, I'm just trying to figure out what's going on. [music] >> All right. I got to read your rights. Okay. It's like you've seen it in movies and all that. All right. >> So, do you understand your rights? I explain to you. >> Yes, sir. >> Having these rights, am I willing to answer my questions? >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> So, what's going on? What happened? >> I was standing there. You seen the video. I said what I said. It's pretty stupid for saying that. We got into a huge argument. I found out she cheated on me with my one of my best friends. So, I got drunk. I talked to her. I said a lot of stupid things. >> Like what? What did you say? >> I was just saying like I missed her a lot. I guess she I I was saying just like [music] I was saying a lot of hurtful things to her. Basically, just try to get even. I was trying to get on an even playing field cuz I was really hurt. Cheated on my friend. She told me she never had anything to do with me. and I she he came over on Friday to my friend's house and explained the situation. >> It turned out to be a case of toxic romance. Noah's friend told him that he slept with his girlfriend after she came over to his house and [music] said they were not together anymore. So Noah sent a bunch of nasty messages to get even. But what the officer really wanted to know was why he continued harassing her even after the officers warned him not to. >> He showed up. That picture that she took with that officer was at 10:08. >> Okay. Okay. After that, we have a lot of calls, videos. >> She calls me too. She calls me on a different number a lot. I'm just letting you know. She doesn't contact me too a lot. I'm just saying. I understand. >> I'm trying I'm trying to tell you away with her. She She If you ask her, she calls me on a different number. She calls me no card. She has like eight different phone numbers she calls me on. I've blocked like all them. I can show you the text message. Like eight different phone numbers. She's texting. >> Show me Show me Show me the Show me the text the call section. >> I deleted them cuz I don't want anything to do with them. Look, >> show recently deleted. These are all ones I've deleted in the past day. I don't want anything to do with them. Those are all bunch of messages she's been texting me on different >> I know, but not >> are you want me to like save them? >> No. These are like 29 days ago. >> No, that's what I deleted. That's how many days they have left until they're completely deleted. 29 days until they're I deleted these messages. You can save them. Bring them back up. >> Can you open them? >> Yeah, I can open them. >> Open your messages. I want to see whether she continued to talk to you after she spoke to that officer. >> Noah showed the messages, although they were from unknown phone numbers. But regardless of that, there was still one major issue. The video where he threatened her life. >> What's up with the one video of you telling that you or her family or other people are going to put her 6 feet down? >> I don't know. I was just being stupid saying stupid. I really I was just being wrong. >> Unfortunately, those are some serious things, right? >> Yep. is she's I I'm not I'm not like here to get her in trouble. I just really don't want anything to do with her. >> Here's the thing. That's a >> It's a serious credible thing, right? >> I understand. I understand. I understand. >> So, unfortunately, >> right? You're going to have to be placed under arrest. >> I hope this probably solves the issue of no more communication with her. >> All right. I think it's gotten to the point where stupid things >> a lot of things were >> done with bad judgment. >> Yep. >> And uh hopefully this doesn't persist, right? >> I just hope she does like she >> Well, I'll tell her the same thing. >> I know she she'll get away with it, though. She's really good at it. >> Okay. Well, unfortunately, it was you in the video. >> His parents were pretty upset by what had taken place. They obviously had a different take on the matter. And even though they didn't justify their son's actions, they seem to think his ex-girlfriend was not completely honest about their relationship. >> Very simple. He's not 15 anymore. He's an adult. You can't send videos to people telling you're going to >> And I got the video. >> I mean, I get it. If you're I mean, we've all had young love and did dumb stuff. He's got to learn and he's going The problem is if we don't do something about it and he hurts her that's a bigger deal. You know what I mean? Happens all the time. And he was born. She sent him a picture of me and said, "Don't talk to me anymore." And he said something like, "I understand." Or something. >> And he even he even blew her up after that. I mean, come on. Like, how what more do you need? I get it. You don't understand the severity of this crap. But he's looking at like aggravated stalking, uh, threats to, you know what I mean? Those are felonies in the state of Florida. The reason we have those laws is people go out and get I mean, he lost his job over her and everything. I know that much because they're like bothering her at work because they work together or something. >> I heard something different from the manager, but Okay. I I'm friends with Jesse. He's his manager and that's not what I heard at all. >> Okay. >> Gus, this is his mom. >> I'm his I'm his mother. >> Oh, well, you could have told me that. >> Well, I I thought you guys would >> He knew that. I didn't. >> Yeah. And it's my birthday, so this is the best birthday ever. One bad decision after another led Noah straight to jail. It's difficult to say if this was just a toxic romance unraveling or if the suspect's behavior would have escalated over time. In any case, the police intervened in time and possibly prevented a potential tragedy. Airports are stressful enough on their own, but one family experienced something far worse than simple boarding delays. While traveling through Dallas Fort Worth on November 23rd, 2024, a grown man began following and harassing their teenage daughter when police stepped in. The situation got pretty bizarre. >> Morning. >> You call us? >> Yes, you did. So, we got off the train and this guy came directly up to us and was asked her, "Are you comfortable in this airport? Are you comfortable asking her where she was going?" And then we were like >> kind of then we started talking to him like, you know, we're not from here. We're from Arkansas, you know, whatever. And then he started following us all the way from the train to here. >> And then so my husband's like, "Well, let's just go into here if he'll go past us." And he went past us and then come back in here and started trying to talk to my daughter again. I didn't know where it was. >> The man was standing right across the hall. The strange thing was he didn't leave when he saw the police talking to the family. It was a sign of things to come because from the moment they approached him, it was clear he wasn't about to back down. Can >> I talk to you real quick? >> What's your ID? >> Excuse me? >> What's your ID? >> What's my ID? >> Do you understand what I'm saying? So they got a complaint on you saying um you keep following and harassing following and harassing. >> First of all, there's no smoking. >> Yeah, you can't use that. >> Can't use that. >> Why not? >> Because it's against the airport policy. Okay. >> No vaping inside the airport. >> Airport. >> No vaping inside the airport. Okay. That's it. I need security officer here. >> No, ain't no security officer here. >> Police officer. >> Police officer. >> Officer here. >> Police officer. >> Police officer. >> You don't look >> the way the alleged stalker kept looking at the officers and their weapons was really unnerving. Not only was he doubting their legitimacy, but he actually looked like he might pounce at them any moment. >> We got a call from the family saying you're harassing you're harassing dear daughter. I wasn't harassing. I'm lost. I'm looking for D22. >> You and B. You and B. >> Yeah. B22. That's what I'm saying. >> You said B2. >> You just said D though. >> What? >> You said D22. >> You're right. You're You're at B21. >> B22. >> That's where I'm standing. >> B22 is right down here. >> I'm standing right in front of you. >> Anyways, as as I said, we got a we got a call. We got a call saying that you're harassing me. >> People make calls, man. Who cares? >> We do. That's how we show up. >> So, I'mma ask you again. What was the purpose for you following the the family? >> I was lost. I was getting to D22. >> All right. Then, if you need to go to D22,22. >> B22. >> If you need to go to B22, it's right there. >> I'm right here. My wife is going to meet me here. >> Again, B22 is right there. The suspect showed zero respect for the officer's authority and seemed to be trolling them. Still, the officers remained composed and warned the man not to approach the girl or her family again. >> Listen to this, man. >> They they don't want you making no contact with their daughter. It's a mind. >> I never made any contact. >> Well, listen. We weren't here, but this is what is contact. >> Listen, you you won't play these little games or whatever and stuff like that. video games. >> Don't make any more contact with you. They don't want you talking to their daughter. They don't want you talking to them. So from this point on, they have no more contact with them. Understood? >> And no vaping in the airport. >> Yep. >> Is that understood? >> Yes. >> Just when it seemed both sides had come to a mutual agreement, things turned bad in a split second. The officer asked the man where he was going and the answer was not what he was hoping for. >> None your business. >> Hey T, you it's investigation, right? Put Put your stuff down. Put your stuff down. >> I don't know what games you're playing, but I don't play those games. Okay. You want to go to jail? You can go to jail. Okay. >> Yes, sir. >> When I ask you a question, I want to answer. >> Yes, sir. >> Sit there. You still under investigation. What time is your flight? Where's your border pass? >> 30 minutes from now. Don't touch me. >> Don't touch me. You're not free. Investigation. >> Huh? >> No, they just went to McDonald's. >> Okay. Can I >> Where the door? >> The officers escorted the man to gate 22 after confirming the family wasn't there. But then the suspect did something nobody expected. He casually walted into the woman's restroom. >> Hey, that's the wrong side. Hey, that's the women's. >> Have you checked my crotch? That's a women's professional, man. >> You're touching me. >> You're touching me. >> You're touching me. >> Law enforcement here. >> We are law enforcement. >> Can I see your ID? Hey, man. Can I see your badge? I don't want to take >> Where's the law enforcement here? >> That's my >> Where's the law enforcement here? >> Where's the law enforcement here? >> Put your bag down. >> Where's the law enforcement here? >> The officers tried to get the suspect to comply and act reasonably, but he just kept repeating the same question over and over again. He didn't resist with violence, but they still had to take him down to be able to safely handcuff him. Then he had another question and it was a stupid one. >> Where is the law enforcement here? I hold my bag. >> No. Where I be at? >> Where is the law enforcement here? Don't catch me. >> Did you kick me again? >> Call 911. Call 911. Call 911. >> Call your side. >> Call 911. >> Call your side. >> B22. Call 911. B22 got a hitting me, man. I'm trying to see if you got my name. >> Where's your Where's your call 911? >> Where's your boarding pass? >> B22. Call 911. >> B22. >> The man was then escorted to an adjacent lobby away from the public. The moment those doors closed, his demeanor changed instantly. He asked to be taken out of the handcuffs as if it wasn't clear to him that he was arrested. But things were about to get even weirder. >> What's up? >> Open this. >> I can't. We figure out what's going on with you. >> Are you ready to talk to us? >> What is going on with you? >> Return to check on it. Don't show them all 7:4. >> Once the transport arrived, the suspect was escorted outside. Nothing dangerous was found in his belongings, and the officer still couldn't explain what had just happened or why the man acted the way he did. >> No, I don't know why he did it. >> That's probably what That's probably what it is. Probably wasn't lighter than >> Did you find a >> There's nothing on this person. >> No. >> Was that a lighter that I picked I picked out? >> Probably wasn't light. Was it black? >> Yeah, >> that was that. That was that. >> Yeah. >> No, that was where was it at? >> Oh, it was in his pocket. >> Did you take it out? >> Yeah, I took it out. >> That's not a DW car. >> It literally says DFW right here. >> Why your camera is not on? >> Camera. >> Why your camera is on? >> Camera is on. Let's go. >> Where is the camera? Okay. Hold go hold it. It's already open. >> This guy. Let's go. This guy. >> I can't. Let's go. Put your leg in. Lean back. >> The man was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct. Whatever his issues were, hopefully he got the help that he needed. Some stalkers never learn. Not even after being repeatedly warned by the police. On April 19th, 2024, officers arrived to serve an arrest warrant for repeated stalking. Instead of resistance, they were met with whining and excuses. >> Good, man. Remember me? >> I'm sick. How are you? >> Relax. Relax. Relax. >> Relax. Relax. >> Just relax. >> I don't know what I did. >> What you did trying to contact that girl? Sure. I took my phone. I have not spoken to you. >> Please do. >> Relax. Relax. Relax. >> I have not spoken to her. >> Relax. Relax. We'll explain everything. [laughter] >> Can we get some? >> I have not called her. Please, bro. Please. Please, man. Please, bro. I can't go to jail. I need to go to my job, bro. Can you call my Can you please call my boss, man? He's like literally retired chief of police, bro. >> He's retired chief of police. >> The moment the officers put their hands on the suspect, he panicked and started making excuses. He claimed he hadn't spoken to or contacted the victim at all and that he only went from his home to his work and back. The officer tried to calm him down, but it wasn't working. Man, swear to God, bro. I've been literally so chill. So low since I don't think you're a bad dude, man. You're just heartbroken. It's all good. >> No, bro. I swear to God. I don't >> Just relax. All right. It's all good, dude. >> Here, we're just going to hang out here for a second while the patrol car gets here. No weapons on you, nothing. >> All right. What else do you need from your house? Anything? Do you need your phone, wallet, something like that, >> bro? You good, >> bro? I haven't even Bro, they've been checking my phone on probation. I've been showing them like what's going on, man. >> Have any room back there. >> I'm literally haven't done nothing. >> I could talk to you later on, but I can't talk right now. >> My god. Just please tell me, man. I have not contacted her at all. >> I have not spoke to her, man. [clears throat] >> Ah, bro. At one point, the suspect claimed there was no real reason for him to be arrested, and that the police were simply out to get him. However, one of the officers was quick to explain the long list of charges being made against him, including stalking, violation of a protection order, and sharing explicit images without consent. >> I got an arrest. >> For what? What did I do? >> Eight counts. >> For what? >> Aggravated stalking. Stalking. Violation of an order of protection sexual dissemination of private sexual images. >> What? Where? What are you talking about? >> I'm telling you what you're getting charged for. So lose the attitude. >> What is that talk? How >> I'm not attitude, man. I just want >> You're going to talk to me like that. I'm not going to talk to you. >> How am I talking to you, man? I don't understand how I'm talking to you. >> Telling you I got a job to do. I got a rest for you. That's how it works. Is it old? >> There's a new one. >> It can't be new. I have not spoken. I I'm not sending anything to anybody. I'm not talking to anybody. Like, man, you guys arrested me the first time. Like, bro, please learn my lesson. I swear to God, bro. Please. >> I don't think you did. And that's why we're here. >> I swear to God I did, sir. I promise you I did. Check my phone. Like, I will give you my phone. Just relax. Despite being confronted with the various charges, the suspect denied any wrongdoing and kept begging the officers to let him go. But at that point, it was too late for bargaining. >> I promise you, man, please just let me go do one of >> Are you still at FedEx? >> Yes. >> Or the security? >> Yes. And all I want to do is work my job and just go home, man. That's all I've been doing. I've been on the monitor. >> Like, check my location. Check what I've been doing. Please, man. Please don't arrest someone good for this, man. I just want to go to work and go home. I promise you guys. I don't want to do anything else. I don't care about her like like that. I don't want to speak to her, man. You won't hear me. You guys can follow me every single day. I'll give you guys my phone every day. You can look at my phone every single day if you want. >> Listen, I'll talk to you, but I got to read you your rights first. All right? So, you have the right to remain silent. Once the officer started reading him his rights, the man realized there was no way he was walking free. But instead of accepting his fate, he spiralled even further and almost broke down in tears. >> You understand that? >> I don't understand being arrested, man. >> I don't understand why I have no contact with you guys arrested me. I have not even tried the contact. >> That's disgusting. I swear to God on my mom was like I swear to God my dad. >> I have not. >> We'll do. >> I haven't. Bro, I learned my lesson. >> Do we care about spoken? >> Quiet. Quiet. >> I just haven't done anything. >> Quiet. >> I haven't done anything, man. >> I don't understand why. strap in and I'll ride with him and let's go. >> Okay. >> After Reuben was strapped in, the officers were all ready to take him to jail. On the ride there, he wouldn't stop complaining and kept repeating he didn't do anything wrong and that the cops are out to get him. >> Search till Monday, bro. You just don't want me to be free, man. >> Bro, get it together. >> No, bro. This is crazy. Cuz it's it's unfair, man. >> Well, life's unfair. They're coming after someone who hasn't done nothing, who just went through a breakup with his girl. That's all I did, man. I don't want to [ __ ] contact her. I don't want to talk to her at all. I don't care about her. I don't know why you guys have to freaking harass me all the time. Like, you guys been harassing me since 2018, bro. >> Hey, man. I need to be in jail, bro. I don't belong in jail. The officers tried to ignore his complaints, but then he accused them of stalking, harassing, and assaulting him. So once again, they tried to explain that they were just doing their job. >> I don't know what else you guys want, man. >> Get off of just keep stalking regular people. >> Who assaulted you? >> You guys did. You guys grabbed me right from my house. >> You're under arrest. >> Okay. >> For what? >> For nothing. I didn't do for something a liar is telling you guys. >> You guys know that she that's what she literally got a dude arrested and was a felon and she bailed him out of jail and that's who you guys are listening to. >> Talk to your attorney and deal in court. >> Yeah, but why do you guys have to do that? Why do you guys even have to >> Because there's a warrant for your arrest and we police are directed. >> Is it an old warrant? >> No, it was just issued. Then how? How though? If I've been at my house, >> if I've not been talking to nobody, >> talk to your attorney, >> man. How though? How? I just want to know how. How can how you guys are just going to believe anything she says now? >> The officers repeated that they are not arresting him for their own reasons. They were given a warrant signed by a judge and their job was to bring the suspect in. Nothing more, nothing less. However, Reuben had a different view. >> Why do you guys just arrest people that are like good people, man? >> Cuz when a warrant comes across the desk and there's an arrest warrant that was signed by a judge, we take that on face value. >> They don't tell you why the person is being arrested or anything. >> We get the char. I mean, there's obviously the charges are on the warrant. >> And what were the charges again? >> I never told the case agent will tell you when we get to the station. Okay. We don't have the paperwork with us. >> Case agent will tell you. >> You guys just want to harass me. You guys just secure my name and you guys are automatically go to my house trying to harass me, man. >> I can I can tell you right now I've got other things to do on a Friday morning than come to your house. But again, >> well, I I can't when there's a warrant arrest there's a warrant issued for your arrest. I'll put it at that. >> No point of that, dude. There's no point in that >> because you're just listening to somebody who's lying to you, who just has hatred towards me for no reason. His victim act was slowly but surely getting on the officer's nerves. He never took any responsibility for his actions or the situation he was in. It was always someone else's fault. >> All I've been doing is going to work and coming back. That's all I've been doing. And they've been checking my phone. And I've been telling them, "Check my phone." I don't understand what I what I've done now. I don't understand at all what I've done. >> Okay. First of all, you do. And >> No, I don't at all. I don't know at all. >> We'll read it to you. Well, you do and we'll read it to you. >> No, you're saying I do know. How do I know? If you haven't even told me what I'm being arrested for, you told me one little thing or two. >> You know, you did. >> And because No, I didn't. >> You do? >> No, I don't. >> I don't at all. And that's a fact. That's on my dead grandfather's grave because I've been going to work and straight back >> and I've been talking to a new girl. So what what the hell would I have been wanting to talk to that girl? >> Stop talking. Not talking. >> See, you're just mean, bro. You're just bald. >> You're like the type of person why people don't trust police, man. >> Right. Sure. >> Is he just come to my house to arrest me, dude? >> Hang on. >> No matter what the officers said, Reuben just couldn't stop talking. He was taken to jail and charged with non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images, disorderly conduct, violation of an order of protection, stalking, and aggravated stalking. When stalkers focus on a particular victim, they are usually relentless. One young woman experienced this when an ex-boyfriend kept calling her from fake numbers, harassing her at work. He even fabricated a medical emergency to get her away from her job. Understandably, at one point, she'd had enough. >> Clearly, you don't like this guy, huh? [laughter] >> All right. >> Hi. >> I apologize again. >> That's okay. Um, for future reference though, if you think it's him, don't answer. Um, so tell me what happened today. Well, we have spoke already and I know that's horrible because um who did >> me and Jake have since I got the restraining order me and him have spoke which I know >> not allowed >> but he when I was at work this morning I wasn't answering his text because I was at work so within 15 minutes he called me over 15 [music] times on fake numbers. Um, so my boss answered it or my not my boss, my manager answered it and >> called he called what phone? >> My phone. >> The young woman explained that her phone kept buzzing at work, so she eventually had to tell her manager what was going on. At that point, the manager took matters into her own hands, hoping to persuade the man to stop calling. >> So, I told my manager about it cuz he was blowing my phone up while I was trying to work. and she took my phone and answered it when he called and introduced herself as my boss and told him that he can no longer contact me and that my phone's going to stay in her office the rest of the day so I can do my job. Um, and he cussed my manager out. um the whole thing. And then like an hour and a half later, I got called to my boss's office with both my managers and my boss sitting in there. And they pretty much explained to me that he had called him pretending that he worked in a hospital, saying that he was in the ICU for self-inflicted gunshot wound, that I need to leave work and come. At first, the victim wasn't really sure how many times her ex-boyfriend Jake had called her at work, but he had called her mom from random numbers at least 20 times in the past hour, which was even stranger. While mom was talking to the police, her daughter quickly counted her calls. >> He's called me 23. >> All right. Um, why why did you file for protection order and then you start talking to them again? >> Because I'm scared. I don't have like a actual answer. >> I don't know. But the reason that I filed for it is because him and his three friends were following me, trying to block me on the road, trying to run me off the road, um getting out of the car and banging on my windows, and he ended up running into my car while I was driving. >> How long ago did you file this protection order? Was it served? >> I mean, I know it was served him, but when when was it served? Do you know? Not even 6 months ago, >> right? >> So, it wasn't recently. >> I'd say like three or four months probably. >> Okay. >> We talked like two months ago. We talked for like a week and then we went on track again and then he started texting me like two days ago. >> And did you guys try to reconcile the relationship or something? Was that the reason for talking with him? >> No, I don't know. He I don't know. He probably wanted to, but I had told I told him a hundred million times said no. >> So, he started violating the protection order a couple days ago. >> The officer confirmed that a no contact order had been issued, meaning the suspect had violated it when he contacted the victim 2 days earlier. At that point, the mother voiced her concerns about the suspect's mental stability. >> He's an idiot. He knows what he scares me. Like what kind of stupid are you? >> Yeah, before we had the restraining order or anything, he's trespassed from my dad's house, too. So, he's trespassed from my dad's house and there's some protection. >> I'll talk to my supervisor. My only concern is that when you get a protection order, it's a it's a court order, right? And even though you cannot violate your protection order, he he still can. even though you reach out to him, >> right? >> Okay. Um, however, it kind of defeats the purpose when you reach out to him and talk to him for protection order, so has less of a meaning. >> The officer explained that they would contact the prosecutor to check if he wanted to pursue charges. He warned the victim not to answer any more calls and not to try to contact the suspect again. Just an hour later, officers had the young man in custody. >> Hello. >> Come with me. >> Go right over here in my patrol car. Okay. All right, my man. Turn around. Put your hands right back. >> Palms together, my man. >> Palms ready? >> Yep. What? Separate your feet for me. You have anything in your pockets, my man? >> No, I do not. >> Okay. You want to take your property to jail with you? Uh, yes. >> You want your necklace and everything to go with you or you >> Yes, please. Can you push my glasses up for me when I sit down? >> Okay. Good. >> All right, man. Have a seat. [clears throat] >> All right. My name is Deputy Bren. I work for the Green County Sheriff's Office. Okay. >> You are under arrest for the probable cause. Believe you violated a protection order. >> Okay. >> Okay. I want to ask you some questions, but before I do, I got to read you your rights. Okay. After Jacob confirmed he understood his rights, the questioning could officially begin. Like most stalking suspects, he was calm and cooperative. He did not deny he contacted the victim, nor did he claim he didn't know about the restraining order. >> So, I talked to Meline today, sir. >> And there were several calls from a restricted number, and when she answered, she could recognize it was her voice. >> Uhhuh. >> All right. Um, you also called her work today. Is that correct? My man, take a listen to me. I already know the answer to all these questions. I'm just I'm just seeing >> No, I know. I just >> Seeing your level of cooperation with the investigation. Okay. >> I'm trying to I'm just trying to wrap my head around the situation. Yes, I did. >> You called her work today? >> Yes, I did. >> Okay. And you talked to her boss? >> Um, I don't recall speaking. I don't recall the name of the person I spoke to, but did speak to somebody. >> It was her boss. That's who you talked to. Okay. What did you say to her boss? >> Uh, I told her that somebody contacted >> somebody. Did you >> I didn't say my name. >> Okay. >> All right. And then you made multiple calls to Meline today. >> Um I made four, I believe. >> The suspect then decided to use the only defense that might actually help him, blaming it on his ex-girlfriend, Meline. He claimed that she had called him multiple times on Saturday, Sunday, and even before that. >> I can't I can't I cannot keep in contact with you. >> Okay. Did you call her mom, too? >> I didn't call her mom, but her mom has no potential. [music] >> I understand that. >> What did you say to her mom? >> Uh, I didn't really get the chance to talk to her, actually. I didn't really say anything to her. >> Okay. All right. Uh, my man, well, you know you have a court order, right? You were serving that court order, sir. How long ago were you served? >> What's the month? What's What's this month? October, >> I believe in May. >> Okay. It's been a little while. >> April, May. April, May. >> Do you know when that protection order expires? >> Um, I actually do not. >> Usually a whole year. [snorts] >> Uh, well, when we were in court, >> I remember her saying, "I need no contact for 6 months." >> That's what I remember her saying. I don't remember if it was a year. I don't remember if it was six months. I don't remember really. I like realistic. >> All right. In the system, it still shows you do have an active protection order. Okay. >> Okay. >> The officer explained that the protection order was still in place. That meant he would be booked into the Green County Jail for violating the order, which classified as a misdemeanor offense. Jacob didn't resist. He just wanted to know what it's like to be in jail. >> I do have a question for you. Is jail like prison? You >> ever been to the Green County Jail before? >> It's not nice. >> It's not a nice place. for bad people. >> Well, yeah, that's jail. [laughter] >> I mean, like I'm not trying to >> um I mean the the jail staff is is there to protect you, so I don't I don't I wouldn't worry too much about that. Um I don't I don't take many assault cases from the jail. Um if you if I'm being completely honest with you, I do take assault cases from the jail. That's about it, though. Okay. Lean back for me. Put your seat belt on. >> Push my glass. >> All right, cool. We'll get out of here shortly. Okay. >> People in love get hurt easily, but when their affection turns into fixation, that's when they start making decisions they later regret. Hopefully, Jacob used his time in custody to reflect about moving on from Meline. On March 22nd, 2024, police were called for an alleged stalker. The victim reported that a suspicious vehicle had been following her wherever she drove. She tried changing routes and even stopped at a gas station. When the cops finally reached her location, the suspect was still right behind her vehicle, but the biggest surprise was yet to come. >> So, you're the caller. >> Okay. You said they were following. >> They've been following me since I left my house. I even pulled up at BP. >> Uhhuh. They pull up behind me. Don't get out. Don't do nothing. >> So I call my >> fianc. >> I'm scared. Like I'm late for everything. So I call up there to my dad like I got somebody call me. When I tell you I went from Schuma all the way around trying to lose these people. I don't even know who's in this car. >> Okay. >> I don't know if it's a man. You know what? >> Say put he was following you too or is it just one? my hus my fianc to make sure I'm okay. >> Okay. >> We got to call for this vehicle. >> Yeah. >> I don't know what um >> Bradley >> I know him. He live up the street from me. >> Chance would have it the suspect turned out to be the officer's neighbor. But that wasn't the only surprise that night. Before she called the police, the victim had called her husband. And when he got there, he immediately recognized the suspect. >> Uhhuh. >> Oh boy. Whose car you in, man? I thought you was in Indiana somewhere. >> Okay. What you doing following him, man? That's for my cousin. You shut the door. >> Oh, I'm sorry. >> Can you roll down? Okay. Okay. Oh, I see it now. >> That's why I did that. Okay. What's going on? >> This my fiance. That's like my cousin. What is he? Why he following my girl like that? >> Who? Who following who? >> Is that my cous? >> Stay. Stay. Don't get out. >> Sir, I'm I'm the one calling. >> You got No, still it's just it's precautionary. So you called us. >> She did. Yes, she did because it's suspicious car. That's my cousin. >> Who your hell? >> Why is he? >> You don't here by yourself? >> Yes. The husband was completely bewildered to learn that the stalker following his wife wasn't a stranger at all, but his own cousin, Axel. It was already a tense situation, but that made it even more bizarre. >> What the is going on, man? >> I get it. Wait, wait. You can drink it. >> Oh, man. >> Bro, >> this look bad, man. >> No, I leave the house. She go to work. >> Okay. Okay. >> So, I follow my girl to the gas station cuz she weird >> like that. So, that's what it is. >> Okay. Is that your boy cousin >> man? Yeah. I don't know what the wrong with him. >> All right, man. It's a tight for me. All right. >> I want to talk to him so bad. Sell. Please let me say something. [laughter] >> He right there, bro. >> I see who it is now. But she got MY GIRL SCARED AS that's why I get up early in the morning to go to the gas station. She >> visibly irate the husband tried calling out to Axel even though the officer told him not to. The suspect just sat in the driver's seat trying not to look at the husband, pretending not to know him. >> How did How did you end up right behind her, though, bro? Like, that's weird, man. How did you end up right behind this woman? >> Boss, man, let me talk to him, man. It's It's cool, Doc. >> Huh? Damn. [clears throat] >> Come on. Put your hands on top of your head, little bro. Put No, no, no. Hold up. Don't Don't just put your hands on top of your head. Put your Put your wallet on on the top of the dashboard. Interlock your fingers. Put them on top of your head. Lean forward for me, man. Damn, Doc. When you step out, man, you going to You'll be facing towards the door here. I know. I know. We We'll work this out, man, at some point, bro. Come on. Put your leg out. Step out for me. Even though he knew Axel personally, the officer remained cautious. He asked him to step outside the vehicle with his hands raised as if they were dealing with a known criminal. And it proved to be the right call because the young man was carrying a firearm. >> Where's it at? >> It's on you. >> Yo, what you doing, bro? >> What are you doing, man? >> Why you ain't stay in Indiana, bro? A this is disappointing, bro. Come on, man. Unlock the door for me, man. >> Go ahead and step in, man. Bro, man, I'm so disappointed in you, man. Congratulate you, though. >> I appreciate it, man. Dang, little bro. I hate this, man. Stay put, man, until we get you situated. >> The officer clearly wasn't happy about having to arrest his neighbor, but something was clearly not right. Whenever he would ask Axel about following his cousin's fiance, he couldn't really explain what was going on. [groaning] >> Damn. >> I I was going to do >> and every stop she made, she said she stopped at the BP, you were behind her. She made it out of BP, kept going, you were behind her. Then we pull up here and you behind her. It's just it's a little odd, bro. That's all. >> And then you do you know her fiance? The dude that was in the in the forward fusion. >> Why did you call her at that moment? >> What's up, XL? >> Just so you could call them. So you could uh uh clear call them my stepdad. So I can give you that number, too. Unless she gonna get out here. >> Well, your your your lady is knocking on that door now. Are they not home? >> No, they No, they not. >> Where they at? >> They didn't on side. Damn, they're not. >> They not in that house up the street. >> No, I know. Hey, can I use one of your phones? >> Axel claimed to know where his parents were and wanted to call them so his car wouldn't get towed. But that turned out to be the least of his concerns. He wasn't only found stalking somebody. He was also driving without a license and carrying an unlicensed firearm. >> I understand, man. This was a This was one of your bad decisions, though, bro. This was This was you. You knew better, man. >> Knew not to be carrying weapon. And you don't have no license. >> That ain't smart, bro. >> I will carry it all day. If you knew going on, it's cuz y'all mother not you put videos and all that. That's the reason why I carry mine. >> You didn't think to follow police report or talk to me about this, man. Like, >> they made that they made videos and all that. >> We'll probably get a chance to talk about that at a later date, too, cuz I don't have a clue what you talking about, bro. Like I said, I don't I don't know the back, bro. I just know what they were telling me, man. And then it's just odd that you end up behind her in front of a police station, man. I mean, it's just it's weird, that's all. And she was on on the phone the whole time with 911. scared as hell. I don't know what you was following for. I don't know what that was about, man. But I don't know, bro. >> Axel kept talking about a video of him claiming he was part of some new type of street gang. But not even the officer could understand what he was talking about. And it didn't really matter because he was going to jail regardless >> because this I I don't I don't get what you're saying, man. I don't >> carry up a finger at that. The fact that you carry a weapon XL and you know you ain't supposed to have one in the first place. That's that's that's what bothers me about the situation. You get where I'm coming from and if if you had an issue, bro, you should have came to talk to everybody. >> I never knew. >> I mean, we we live right next to each other. >> I never knew you was in this all my life. I never knew that, >> man. I told you. >> I never knew you all my life. I never knew you. >> I told you I was a cop. >> You knew I was gone. Like you about gone about like all my life. You never seen a video that got me in here? >> Mm- I have not a clue what that's about, bro. I don't know what you talking about. I have not a clue. >> Look it up. >> What am I supposed to be looking up? >> Cold blood. >> What is it? A gang? >> They got cold blood or snow. >> You part of the gang. >> Look it up. That's what it's called. Cold blood in the snow. >> Axel was taken to jail and booked on multiple charges. Since they were neighbors, the officer had a soft spot for the young man and offered his help and guidance once the young man got out of jail. On August 23rd, 2024, after multiple calls from teens reporting an adult male acting suspiciously at a crowded high school football game, officers were dispatched to the scene. They quickly found the man who was allegedly making inappropriate gestures to teens and attempting to get girls to follow him. >> Hey sir. Sir, can I talk to you for a second? >> Yeah. So, we had some complaints about you. Is there any incident that happened over here? No gestures made anybody. Sir, >> sir. >> The suspect tried to pretend the officer wasn't even there. The officer, trying to avoid further escalation, stepped back briefly. He had noticed the smell of alcohol on the man and likely expected trouble. A few minutes later, he approached him again with a few more questions. Sir, did you drive? Huh? Did you drive? No. Did you drive there? Drive up here. Okay. I can smell alcohol coming from you, man. Okay. So, there's a problem there. All right. And then we have some complaints about you making some gestures. those people. So, You have someone who pick you up. >> Judging by the slurred speech and wobbly stance, the man was most likely highly intoxicated. He said he was just looking for his daughter. At that moment, several teenage girls approached the officer and told him what had happened. He was touching like first and told me to come first. >> He almost touched me. I went away. He was like over her >> and then he tried to get my attention. He like kind of elbowed me. Not hard. >> Where did he try to >> stand? So, we were sitting right there and Okay. So, first I noticed him staring at her. She was looking at her. I saw him staring at her. looked at him like and then we just like nod and then like say like 5 minutes later he went looked at us looked at me and went like you like should have been out cuz he went over her and was like come here. >> While the girl stepped aside to be interviewed another officer tried to obtain the suspect's ID. It was no longer a he said she said situation. The officers already had witnesses and a clear account of what happened. So they needed to detain the suspect. I'm so ID on you. Sorry. >> Yeah, I know. I get what you're saying, but I need I don't want The man was reluctant to provide any identification. Despite being very drunk, he knew where this situation was headed. So, at one point, he simply tried to walk out. However, at that point, it was too late for that. >> Hey. Hey sir. Hey. You're not free to leave. >> You're going to get for what? >> Investigation. For what? >> Investigation. >> Oh my. >> Are you kidding me? >> What are you talking about? Relax. >> I'm relaxed. What the are you talking about, bro? >> No, dog. I'm kidding. >> What the you guys doing, bro? >> Fortunately for the officers, the man didn't resist. He acted surprised about being arrested, but apart from his verbal protests, he pretty much remained cooperative. Given how unsteady he was on his feet, he didn't really pose a serious threat, even if he wanted to. He just wanted to know why he was being handcuffed. >> For what? For what? >> Investigation. For what? >> That's what we're doing is we're doing an investigation. So that's why you're not going to go. So you got to cooperate, okay? Before anything else. So this is for you being entertaining, okay? So, we're going to invest. >> We're going to investigate and then >> Hey, bro. You walked away from our right. >> I didn't walk away. >> Yes, you did. >> He walked away from him. >> After he said, >> "What the bro?" >> While the suspect was being detained, another officer was taking statements from the girls. They said the suspect didn't manage to grab them, but it was clear he had been making inappropriate gestures and comments. >> I didn't let him touch me. >> What he tried? >> What the is going on, dog? You feel me, man? >> Buddy, buddy, calm down. We're trying to figure it out, man. The cussing cuz there's people around. There's kids doing my kids. What the you talking about, bro? It' be beautiful. >> Just got to calm down, man. Just chill. We're trying to get it all figured out, bro. >> For a while, bro. >> I'm not a case. >> Don't just chill, bro. >> The man kept saying he was there for his 13-year-old daughter. But when the officers asked him what her name was, he wouldn't say. It's as if she didn't even exist. Since the man kept asking why he was being arrested, the officers then explained several charges he would face. What did I do? >> Told you. I just told you. >> I didn't do battering. >> Bro, I did what? >> Uh, resisting fail to obey the officer's command. >> Okay. >> What the Bro, it was my daughter, bro. You >> Okay. All right. I try to help you. I try to help you with your daughter and you don't want to give me no information. So, >> I'll give you I can't do I can't do any anything more for you. >> What? Bro, [snorts] >> try to locate your daughter. Try to find your daughter. She right there. >> Where? Where? >> You You don't even know, man. >> What do you mean, bro? She right there. >> Where at? >> What the Bro is right there. >> Despite his objections, the suspect was taken to jail and charged with battery and resisting arrest.
