Okay. Pull up in the middle. There we go. We got an arm. We got an arm. Can you give her what she's doing? Be careful with her. Be careful. When we think of the police, we usually envision good cops chasing the bad guys. But due to the nature of the job, sometimes the police arrive on the scene in moments between life and death. And scenarios like this is when good cops become the ultimate lifesavers. Did she go back in the house? I got one that just went back in the house for a dog. On May 10th, 2023, a police officer ran into the line of fire, literally to rescue a 92year-old man from a propanefueled house fire. Come on, we got to get out. We got to go up. I don't care who's in there. Let's get him out. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Come on. Out. Out. out. My 92y old. Okay, that's fine. Where's he at? We're getting out back. No, no, no. Not out back. Not out back. Not out back. Not out back. Where you want us to go, baby? We got to go up front. Okay. But this entire side of the house is on fire. No. All right. All right. That's fine. No. Come on. Do we have a wheelchair? Anything? Sir. Hey, you carry him. Come here. Grab a plate. The officer along with the help from a good Samaritan carried the man out of the burning house. They were more than lucky that the officer showed up when he did. As judging from the looks of things, it was only a matter of time before the house would be engulfed in flames. Again, if the dogs run, they run. It's not worth it. Watch the All right, let's get him. Somebody get a chair. Let's get him all the way down to the road. Oh man. I know, buddy. I know. But I got to get you safe. I know it hurts. Stay with us. Is everybody out of the house? Let's just set them in the ark. Hey, there's a propane tank right there. Fire. Let's go. Let's go. We're going to go all the way over. Please lay him just down straight on the ground. I know. He's 90. I know. We got it. Thank you, honey. He ain't going to make it to 97. He's still in that house. Thank you. I know. That's what I was like doing. 200 dispatch. 2011 dispatch. After carrying the man to safety, the officer double checked with the locals to ensure no one else remained in the house. Maybe that's why the officer appeared less than impressed to see that one of the women risked her life to return inside the burning building to rescue her dogs. Karen the animals only the puppies. I'm telling you, puppies are out there. Come on. The puppies that propane tank explodes. It already did. I guess that's why it's It already did. I I I seen it going. Let's go. Get out of the house. Come on. I see you're almost there. Let me know if I still need to continue. Did she go back in the house? I got one that just went back in the house for a dog. All right, she's coming out now. Let's go. Come on. 1719. All traffic. Again, I don't care about them. I know you do. I care about you. Come on. We got to go across the street. What am I going to do? Leave them in the yard? Yeah, sure. Let's go. Okay, shut the gate then. Get back. Let's go. While it was understandable that the woman wanted to rescue her dogs, the officer's primary concern was for the safety of the people as the woman was busy securing her dogs in the yard. The fire department arrived on the scene. Good, bud. Good. You good? We got grandpa. Sound like everybody's out. Yes. And then she went back in for the stupid dog. I was so mad. There'll be more. There'll be more. [Music] Grandpa's good. While it was great to see that grandpa was doing well, the officer was worried that there could still be people in the surrounding homes. As he was concerned about the explosive potential of the situation, he decided to go doortodoor. Copy. The plate on this trailer is going to be out of Florida. going to be Queen Adam Ocean 6 Nora. Queen Ocean 6 Nora 78 17.3 After ensuring that everyone was evacuated from the surrounding homes, the officer rejoined his comrades to fill them in on what just transpired. With the risk of a bigger and deadlier explosion, it was a miracle that no one was seriously harmed. So, what's the issue? Just checking to make sure it wasn't any explosive tanks any kind of All right. Are they inside? No. Jesus. No. Thanks to a little bit of community teamwork and our officer's heroism, no human or dog died on that day. On July 2nd, 2021 in Louisville, the police were dispatched to a quiet residential area after a neighbor witnessed a man in a red Dodge Challenger abduct a little girl who was coloring on the driveway of her grandparents' home. 310. I just had one turn on gravity. I'm trying to get caught up to it. I'm on station right now. 310. What was that partial tag again? John Paul is what he said it was showing. All right, I got it. 23. You see your hands? What's your exact location? Hands. Put your hands in the air. Stay right there. Stay right there. Hall. Keep your hands in the air. Turn around. Turn around and back towards me. hall. Keep walking back. Keep walking back. Keep walking back. Keep walking back. Keep walking back. Get on your knees. Get on your knees. Stay right there. Stay right there. Our officer literally arrived just in the nick of time and continued to hold the man at gunpoint until the backup arrived. The suspect could claim that he was going to bring her back until he turned blue in the face, but nothing was going to get him out of this one. Open the passenger door. It's just her. Open the passenger door. Driver or passenger? You got a little girl in the front seat. Little girl in the fight. It's okay. It's okay. Pull up in the Make sure I think she just pulled up and I think they were looking for her. What's your name? Who? Are you okay? Huh? Do you have any injuries? No. Okay. Pick me up. He picked you up. You don't know him? The little girl was understandably scared and upset. The officer told her that her family was on the way and would be there shortly. The parents must have been worried sick. After ensuring that the little girl didn't have any serious injuries, they turned their attention to identifying the suspect in the car. Does he live here? Does he live here? All right, just wait right there then. If you don't know him, just wait right there. Thank you. No, he doesn't search. I was never going to do anything. Radio. Is your mom and dad at the house? No. My grandpa. Oh, your grandpa was watching you. Yeah, but my dad's coming in. Okay. My mom went to work. Oh, your mom went to where she worked. A lot of places. That's all I know. Oh, okay. Will you ride your bike? He didn't take me. He just said he's going to give me Okay. Can anybody adise she need him? Are you hurt? He didn't do anything. He said he was going to show you a puppy. Yeah. He's my mom's friend. I think this scumbag was going to have a lot of explaining to do in court. He should consider himself lucky that he was captured by the police and not the girl's father. If the officer hadn't caught up with the suspect so quickly, there's no telling how this case would have ended. Remain silent. Anything you say can will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney and have an attorney present during questioning. If you cannot afford an attorney, one may be appointed to you before any questioning. You can decide any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. You understand? Is this your car? Can I sit you on the back of this car? Probably not. Is that How old are you? Big. You're big. Okay. Family members should be back in Roane in a blue. I don't know if he killed me or not. I don't know. I hope not. I think my dad My dad work. Well, we got you. I don't think she wants to. She said that he wanted to show her a puppy and it was a friend of her mom's. As the officer comforted the little girl, her grandpa arrived on the scene. It's always a heartwarming scene to witness family members reunited, especially after such a terrifying ordeal as kidnapping in broad daylight. You want to take her ears? Just come check her out. Yeah. You okay? Yeah. Oh, yeah. can't look out. He says, "The family doesn't know this guy." She doesn't really know. The little girl just said, "You see a puppy?" He was a friend of my mom. How much more stereotypical can he get? He said he wanted to show the girl a puppy. That's literally the line they teach you about in school. We're surprised he didn't offer her candy. Next, the officer caught the others up to speed on what happened. So, this dude told this little girl he wants to show her a puppy. He's a friend of her moms. Guess it doesn't know her at all. I don't know. The dirty look he gave us when he walked past to get sat in the car. Story 1957. No, he he gave us all a dirty whip for Ronin and his walk to the car. Yeah. Although I would like to see this puppy cuz I can use another puppy. I wonder if he went Something's wrong. I better take this toothpack. That's kind of what I was thinking, too. I think he was going to drop off. We went back to the house. I think he was going to drop off somewhere near the house. That's what I think. I mean, it doesn't matter. He's done it. It don't matter. Individual has to be like, "Hey, let's go snatch." Dude, I don't know. I'm just not I'm ready. Why is a nutcase driving a car like that? The suspect, Robbie Wilt, recently accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to 13 years in prison. And thanks to the quick actions of the police department. Another pedophile is right where he belongs, behind bars. On July 28th, 2024, the Mound Ridge Police Department along with Mound Ridge EMS and Mound Ridge Fire responded to a report of a child needing assistance. Upon arrival, units learned that a one-year-old toddler was trapped underground inside a PVC pipe. Nice little kid. Okay. He's probably 8t down, eight or 10 somewhere. Is he heads up? He's okay. He was He was standing up. He's head up. Hey buddy. Poor brick down there. Okay, we're going to get you out, Bentley. It's okay. What's What's your name, big guy? Okay. What's his name? Bentley. Okay. It's all right. Bentley boy. She was just walking around and I guess he stepped on this thing and the lid was like this far off. Okay. [Music] We're good. He's good. He's all right. He's breathing. He's doing good. He's crying, which is a great thing. We're in good shape. I might have landed on the brick. Yeah. Well, we'll figure all that out when we get out of there. The family was obviously concerned about the situation, but the officer was doing a great job, sounding optimistic that they could get the boy out of this predicament. In situations like these, a reassuring tone goes a long way. It's okay, buddy. You're all right. It's all right. [Music] See? And he's standing up. We're good. He's good. He's standing up. Both of his legs are okay. He's all right. He might have got scratched up on Oh, yeah. He's probably good. There's people coming to help you. Hear him? You're all right, buddy. EMS, paramedics, firefighters, and rescue units quickly converged on the scene. Officer Ronnie Wagner watched on as the rescue unit attempted to lift the boy out with a rope, but it wasn't getting them anywhere. They needed another solution and fast. Hopefully, you just hold on to the rope and they just how 14 months. He needs to put it around and then cross his arms. I don't know if parents can communicate that to him or not, but they'll stuck a hole deep. Is there a long We have a catch pole. We don't [Applause] I don't know if you need it longer than that or what, but That's where you started cutting. Good idea as any one fire. Is it glued on there? Do we double check that? Make sure it's not going to Originally, the goal was to simply lower the pole into the hole, allowing the boy to grab a hold of it. From there, all they would have to do was lift him out. But unfortunately, it was easier said than done. Thankfully, Officer Wagner had an idea. Bentley boy's right here. It's okay. Mama's right here. Falco, can you use that pole on one side to stretch out a loop on the rope? Does that make sense? Keep use that to pin the rope to one side. What's your idea? Run that run that rope down the You want You want a catch pole basically? Okay. No, no, no. We'll just We'll just make a quick catch pole. Make it big enough to manipulate that up, didn't I? Yeah. Like 12 feet. Every bit. Almost every bit of this. at least 12 ft. How are we going to see if you can't get that around his shoulders or something? Under Officer Wagner's guidance, rescue workers lowered the catch pole into the pipe. The goal was to line the rope up under the boy's arms and cinch it tight. It wasn't going to be comfortable, but at that moment, they didn't have another option. Do you need the other side of it supported to where if we tied this yellow line to it? [Music] [Music] Give me give me something else. If there's anything long enough to stick down there to try to help maneuver that rope. There we go. We got an arm. We got an arm. All right, Jeremy. Loosen it up here. There you go. Plenty of slack. Plenty of slack. Right here. Right here. [Music] Evaluating the patient now. After lifting the boy from the pipe, he was immediately treated by EMS. One thing was certain, that pipe would need to be fitted with a proper cover to ensure this couldn't happen again. With the boy safe and sound, there was nothing left to do but pack up and go home. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it. Good idea. Thanks, guys. I thank you very much for being here. I appreciate it. It's kind of a scary deal. Yes, sir. What's going on, guys? What's your name, sir? My name's Blake. Blake. Yes, sir. Zordman. Zordman. Okay. And you? Elizabeth. Elizabeth Zordman. Okay, cool. We We typed a little information report basically. So, I'm glad he's doing all right. Oh, hey, good idea there. I tried. Mr. No, but I did. I did rig a catch pole for a raccoon in my neighbor's house. It It crawled down the chimney while they were on vacation and had its way with the cereal and all over the place, couldn't get back out and was holed up in her closet. So, yeah, it's pretty funny. Thanks to Officer Ronnie Wagner's quick thinking, the child, while understandably shaken, emerged from the pipe unharmed and safe. On October 24th, 2018, two women got trapped in a car that caught fire after losing control of their vehicle and crashing into a tree. A North Brunswick police officer and several Good Samaritans who were at the scene came to their rescue. 13 stroke. Pull me out with a signal 4 130 in. I got it, buddy. I got it. I got it. I got [Music] it. [Music] 103. Do you need another unit? That's That's a formative. Can you come out? Are you able to step out? You want to pull it out? Come on. Huh? Anyone in the area for the signal? Come on. Come on, guys. How many guys? [Music] Be careful. Be careful. Get away. Talk about arriving right in the nick of time. The car literally burst into flames while our officer and good Samaritans were working to save the trapped women. Everyone involved in the rescue operation risk their lives and deserves to be recognized as heroes. After carrying the women to safety, the officer assessed the situation. Anybody see what happened? Right there. I seen the trailer. It ran over me EMS as well. She lost control. Dude, whose car is that in the middle over there? You got to move it. You got to move it. Whose car is that over there? Whose car is that over there? That's me. Come on. Get out of here. bleeding. Okay, step back. You lay down. Who saw right there? So, who saw? Anybody see it? No. Tell them to get to my house. There's my house right there. I was in the back. You know, do me a favor, man. Who you live over there? My wife and kids. Can you start calling them? Tell them to get out. Yeah. And then tell tell her, "Yeah, you want me to go?" Yeah. And can you tell the neighbor? Tell the neighbor too to get out. The officer took control of the situation like a pro. That's no easy task with adrenaline pumping through your veins. The women were visibly shaken up from the crash, and getting them medical treatment immediately was the officer's first priority. [Music] my way. Okay. They're going to get your family out. All right. No, my family get out. All right. Can you just tell them to get the neighbor out as well? All right. Yo, can you go and just tell me to get the neighbors out, please? Dude, instead of recording it, dude. Hey, do me a favor. Instead of recording, start calling people, man. All right. key. And so now I saw as soon as I How long How long was that car there before? Cuz I car what happened? I heard boom. I saw I saw whoever park and then I see this car here. Well, I Well, I heard it happen. I I just knew it. I just started running right through here. Came around and I seen them and I just started trying to get everybody at the car. As the officer waited for paramedics and the fire department to arrive on the scene, the fire grew stronger. It was beginning to look like an explosion was imminent. As the fire department arrived, the officer checked on the injured woman while playing crowd control at the same time. Huh? Okay. Okay. [Music] Yeah. 3297. Okay, we got to pull her out. The firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire. Between tending to the injured woman and dealing with the crowd, the officer still needed to piece together what led to the accident in the first place. And for that, he turned to the witnesses. Did you see anything happen? Yeah, he said she was I guess she said she was going this way and that there was a car coming. Which car? The Dodge. The Dodge. The Dodge over there. Yeah. Hey, do me a favor, man. Can you go grab that Dodge's information? I have nothing to do. I just saw it. I had nothing. So she was going straight. No, no, she was Yes. And then what happened? The light was red. The light was red. So I wasn't [Music] charged through first cuz she had a green light and she's getting ready to go across. And then this van was behind the tractor trailer. They both piled through. That bounced off the front of her car, which is why her plate was left in the middle of the intersection. And this is all her stuff here. She's not injured or anything. Did it Did it hit her car at all? The char. She just chest pains. We had to pull her out of the car. Yeah. And she's got arm pain. Drag her neck pain. Yeah. We had to drag We had to rip her out of the car. Yeah. Well, you got to think wherever helping. There's a couple guys helping me. Our officer definitely deserves a promotion after the leadership he displayed throughout this ordeal. He wasn't even called to the scene. He just happened to be driving by at the right time. After the fire was extinguished, the fire department and a handful of civilians helped treat the women until EMS arrived. You know, do you know our information? You know our information. Can you write her name down? Her name is Just write it down. Her first name, last name, and date of birth. In a statement, Captain Brian Hoyberg of the North Brunswick Police Department said, "There is no doubt that lives were saved by the officer and good Samaritans who chose to pull over and help. Officer Anthony Torres and the upstanding citizens who helped that day were indeed heroes, and the women wouldn't have made it out alive without them. Indeed, not all heroes wear capes. Some of them simply wear blue uniforms. Law enforcement don't always get the credit they deserve. But with heroic acts like the ones we've seen today, we all truly feel safer knowing that there are still plenty of good cops just waiting to become the ultimate lifesavers.
