Let me go. No, we can't let you go. I just want to talk about You don't need to touch me. Are you Are you involved? Okay, just give me one second. I'll come back to you in a minute. But he talking [ __ ] All right. You're okay. Are you you too or No. Are you okay? A little bit. Like I took a little bit of blood. There's a difference between making a mistake and being irresponsible. Some mothers don't seem to know where that line is. They cross it without hesitation, whether out of sheer recklessness, a lack of care, or inability to see the harm they're causing. Either way, their poor choices easily make them the most irresponsible mothers ever. Orange County. I work for Seminal County. Semino County. On January 9th, 2024, deputies in Florida responded to a car crash. When they arrived, they found a heavily intoxicated mother with her children in the vehicle. Shockingly, it wasn't even the first time she crashed her car that day. Okay, you guys are okay. Okay. What happened? I don't know. Today's been the day from hell. Okay. This is the second accident I've had within the past 10 minutes. Okay. Which way are you coming? Which way were you coming? I was coming from Oto. I just picked my car up. Coming this way. I flipped the rental car that I had and then I went to go pick up my car. Okay. From Oino. Which way were you coming? I don't know where I'm at. I'm on 426. I was coming this way going towards um university. It didn't take long for officers to realize she could barely string a sentence together. So, they interviewed the other driver involved in the crash instead. Luckily, he was able to clearly explain what led to the collision. So, the officers were able to start connecting the dots. Hello. You okay? Yeah. Just whiplash. Okay. What happened? Uh, I was driving and next thing I know I got hit and I looked back and she's swerving back into her lane and all I know is she kind of came in. Which way were you going? I was on the furthest left lane, the the through lane. Uh, yeah, cuz I was try I was going to get into the turn lane, but we weren't there yet. It was back there. Back there. But you were on 426 here. Yeah, she kind of gunned it a little bit, but then I kind of came behind her and she realized she's not going to kind of go away. So I uh then she pulled off because I honked and stuff. Okay. And yeah, so she kind of I guess she came up with and then pulled off somehow. Just you and the car. Yeah, just the story was coming together and the officers returned to the mom. She was visibly intoxicated, slurring her words, pausing mid-sentence, and staring blankly into space. However, it was strange she didn't seem concerned about the accident she'd caused. So, you don't know what happened? You don't know what happened at all? You know where you are? Yes. What happened? I don't straight this way and then where did he come from? So he was on side of me. I was in the left lane. He was on the right lane. And apparently I swerved into him. Okay. Any special reason why were you doing anything? Radio, cell phone, anything like that? I've been up since 2:00 in the morning. Okay. Well, that could explain it. You're tired, I'm sure. Okay. Is this the same one from earlier? Where was your You said you got into another crash 10 minutes ago. 11. Copy 1050. Approximately 10 20 minutes. Where was that? Where was that accident at? John Parkway. Uniform Park. Okay. The officer asked her to step out of the car with slurred speech and a blank stare. She talked like nothing major had happened. It was painfully clear this wasn't just a case of poor judgment or a moment of carelessness. She had recklessly put her children in danger. So, because of those things though, what we're going to do is now that the crash investigation's done, we're going to we're going to move forward into a DUI criminal investigation. Because of that, I'm going to read you your rights. Okay? So, you have Hold on. Let me read you your rights and then I'll talk to you about it. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. Do you understand each of those rights? I as I have explained them to you. Do you understand those rights, ma'am? [ __ ] Call me an attorney now. Okay. But do you understand your rights? You're not getting back in your car. Oh, I am getting in my car. I have themes in my car and I have my children in my car. And that's part of my my issue. Are you willing to do field sobriety exercises to determine whether or not you are safe to drive? I have not been drinking. Okay. I didn't say you were drinking. I believe that you may be impaired, whether that be alcohol, pain pills, any other narcotic. Yeah, I have a medical marijuana license. Okay. Are you willing to do field sobriety exercises to determine whether or not you were safe to drive? You've already made up your mind. I have not, ma'am. Yes, you have. No, I'm not. Cuz there would be no reason for you to have pulled up here. This is my see my the area I work is this area. The other guy that was here was on Dave. These two made it sound so innocent because they were doing because cops are all liars. They were doing the civil side of of the crash. Are you willing to do field sobriety exercises by your side just like this? I want you to remain in that position until I tell you otherwise. Do you understand? Mhm. Do you have any questions about that? Can you see the tip of my pen? Can you see the tip of my pen? Mhm. I want you to follow that with your eyes. Your eyes only. Do not move your head. Okay. Do you have any questions? Whatever. Do you have any questions? Whatever. I'm going to assume that. Just do your Okay. Follow my pen with your eyes. Do not move your head. Tell me when to go. Do you have any questions about the Tell me when to go. Okay. I'm going to assume you don't. If you do, I'm happy to answer them. Tell me when to go. You can begin whenever you're ready. Look down at your feet. Look down at your feet, ma'am. Ma'am, look down at your feet and count out loud. Eight. Nine. Okay. Now, look down at your feet and count out loud for each step and turn around in the manner I demonstrated. Taking nine heel to toe steps back. Okay. Go ahead and put your feet together, heels and toes touching. Are you willing to complete this exercise? No. You're not? No. Because you're trying to charge me for a DUI when I haven't even had alcohol. Still pretending she'd done nothing wrong and that she wasn't drunk, she acted offended that the police even conducted the sobriety tests. Her yelling and erratic behavior left the officer with no choice but to take action against her. And that's when the mask came completely off. I'm calling Judy to pick up my children. I am calling Judy to pick up my children. Do not push me. It's going to go bad for you. Okay, you're under arrest. I already know that. That's why I'm calling Judy to pick up my children. Let go of me so I can get my not pull away from me. It's going to be bad for you. Bring me my phone. Orange County. I work for Seminal County. Seminal county call duty now. They're over there. Stay back over there. I'll be over there to talk to you guys. Give me one second. No, they're not allowed in my car. They're not allowed. Touch my stuff. Call Judy right now. Go to hell. Burn in hell. Burn in hell. No, we're going to my car. No, I'm taking care of my children. You cannot stop me from taking care of my children. Come on. No. You're anything on you that's going to break the me. [Music] While screaming and swearing at the officers, this woman showed zero concern that her children were quietly watching her act like a maniac, almost like they'd seen it before. She didn't stop even after being placed in the patrol car. Take a seat. No. Force me. So, as of right now, you're being charged with DUI. Do you also want to be charged with a DUI for a no drunk? You dumb piece of dick. You also want to be charged with resisting as well. Take me to my children now. She was charged with DUI with property damage and minors present, battery on officers, and drug possession. At first, she pleaded not guilty, but later switched to no contest. The court found her guilty and sentenced her to two years of probation, mandatory community service, and over $1,000 in court fees. On November 11th, 2022, officers responded to a routine crash in the parking lot of a local playground. Things quickly spiraled into chaos when a random female bystander who had nothing to do with the accident started causing a scene. Hello. What's going on? Just a simple step back into my car. This young lady's out here yelling and screaming causing a scene. It's unnecessary. No, this guy hit his car. Are you involved? Okay, just give me one second. I'll come in a minute. But he talking All right, just banged up into his car. I fine. You're a witness. You can just stand over there. Look at their side of the story. Okay. I said something because this man hit his car. All right. No worries. Don't touch. All right. I'll look at the damage. I said um the little ratchet in this little getting ready to call my dad. Okay. If you're a witness, I'm going to talk to you right now. You and my dad can get busy charges with you. I'm retire. You should be pressing me again. I'm going to press charges against the woman's ramblings made no sense. For some reason, she was mad at one of the crash victims and his daughter. The tension was starting to rise. It was clear that if she didn't leave, everything was going to spiral further. So, the officer needed to get things under control. She got mad because this mother right here backed up. I'm like, "Oh, uh, semi car got hit." Semi car got hit. These black Why you calling them mad? Cuz I can. Okay. Cuz I can. Freedom of speech. Okay. They got mad and said something. I said something too, but ain't my car. You lucky I even said something cuz that he was going to ride off. Okay. Well, they're the ones that so I can ride the she was trying to do the pull off. I'm going. going. Hoping that the unhinged woman is out of the picture, the officer went to the men involved in the crash. They were calm, collected, and ready to cooperate. After all, it was a minor accident, so there was no need for off the rails drama. You guys don't mind telling me what happened? I'm just backing up. All right. You guys want to report accident? Okay. Um, do you have your license or restriction shorts on? He's driving. Okay. I'm driving. I was sitting in the park with my grandkids and she starts yelling. Get over here. Get over here. So, you were just sitting in the car and then with my grand she just start they start yelling. The officer turned to the daughter of one of the men. She was yelling and adding to the chaos. Trying to act like she was above it all. She somehow managed to come off even worse than the first woman. What's What's going on? Hi. So simply all it was was we sat here and told her you can be sucking my dad is right here. Somebody hit your ball. I don't want to call girl. All we said was we here now you got to keep yelling about it over and over. But the thing is when people will grow up in a ghetto environment, they don't know how to then change how they act. So she's a product of her environment. Therefore, when we got here, she saw the accident. It was like, "Oh, it's an accident. A nice BMW." No, somebody. You ain't got to do all that. It's a simple accident. My daddy got full coverage. His car is paid off. We got money. You can see. We all got BMWs. Are you guys my two sisters? Are you at the No, not with this loud ignorance. We working my daddy to make sure he good because like I said, I'm just going to get all the information. It's a product of environment. You know what I'm saying? So people don't know. I don't know why she's called and you see what I'm saying? And it's what it is. It's you mad because you got a Volkswagen while we walking BMWs. Don't be mad. My dad's a retired cop. Listen, my daughter's retired detective. No, I can show you like Yeah. So now you know what we're dealing with. At the officer's request, the poor man tried to get his daughter to leave. He clearly didn't want any more problems or public embarrassment, but she refused, acting all bratty and entitled. Apparently, in her mind, being asked to leave was some kind of an offense or personal attack. I just don't want to cause a scene between everybody. Turn around. Crystal, get in the car. I'm not at this. I'm 31. I don't care how old you are. You're not doing no better. Crystal, go talk to the You're not going to get me to go, so don't do what you got to do. Okay. Embarrassing. While the first woman kept rambling and yelling, the embarrassed father quietly handed over his license and registration. The two men found themselves trapped in the nightmare they never signed up for. All they could do was hope it would pass without getting worse. Yeah, I'm trying to get her to get out of here. Um, I just need your license and registration. You a cop. You should have gave that and you should have asked that for his license. He didn't hit your car and you're not willing to provide me anything that happened. So, do you mind leaving? Yeah, shut the up. I'm leaving. Okay, I'm leaving. But that little ugly right there. We're not arguing back and forth. Right here. Hit the We're not arguing back and forth. I said, "Do you mind getting in the car and leaving?" The investigating officer arrived at the scene and asked the men involved in the crash to fill in the accident report. They complied without a problem, but the two women continued going off the rails. They turned the parking lot into their own personal battlefield and even started involving the innocent children in the fight. Look at your kids. Okay, let's go. Look at your kids. Get in the car. Look at your kids. They ain't got no hair. Baldhead, you talking about I'm talking about your kids. kids. All right. Now you don't take my car 28 central female. Well, who got my phone? You're going to get locked up for resisting in addition to being disorderly. You're the one that's voucher. I got myself. Just listen to us. in the car. Where's my phone? You'll get your phone out of your phone. All that. You're not going to get my phone. I'll get it for you. Can you get right now? And I need my car keys. I'll get them. Okay. Get in the car. You back to the cell. What's your name? You'll have it on your report. Okay. Just when they thought the madness was over, it hit another level. The woman kept kicking, yelling, and making sure all eyes stayed on her. She had nothing to do with the crash, but she managed to steal the spotlight with her out of control behavior. Come on. Why are you doing that? Come on. Cuz I want my phone in my Have your phone. Y'all lock me up for no reason. All right. I got your phone right here. Where's my keys at? Oh, I have to go get them. Let me tell them to pull my car. All right. No, no, no. Get in the car. Can I get the sergeant? The sergeant is here. Come back. Where's the sergeant at? You the sergeant in the car? No. Yes. She smack my phone out my shut your door. The sergeant arrived at the scene and the officers quickly filled him in on what happened. He quickly checked if the woman had any kids in the park as he was worried about their well-being because their irresponsible mother got herself arrested. You have any kids in the park? Yes, I do. Who are your kids that are in the park? Where are they at? They swank in the slide and she got her car hit. I said something. You never listen. Ma'am, you never listen. We're past that. We're past that. Where's your Where are your kids at? My sergeant's right here. Where are your kids at? Sergeant, open up that door. No, you never listen. I'm not opening the door. You just tried to kick my officer. You You'll never listen to me. What? Where? You You'll never listen. I'm listening. Do you have kids in the park? Yes or no? What are their names? Who are they with? For what? So that I can get to make sure that they have I was parked. We want to make sure that the kids aren't left home alone. Ma'am. Ma'am, I'm worried about the kids. Police tried to talk to her and explain the situation, but it was hopeless. She acted completely unhinged, like she was either psychotic or high. While the sergeant went to the park to look for her kids, one of the officers took her to the station. She continued to ramble and yell all the way, not once asking whether or not her kids were okay. Everything will be on body camera. Keep moving in your car cuz you resisted arrest after I told you you were under arrest. Drag that hair. I'll drag you all up and down. No problem. You can't fight. That's why you a cop. You stop banging your head against the glass. When they arrived at the station, the circus continued. She wasn't even close to being done yet. Getting her there didn't bring any relief. The officers still had their hands full as she continued to cause problems. Now, here she comes. Let's go. Look, we're not doing this. Okay. Make me fall. Make me fall. She dragging me. Stand up. No. Is out. Let's go. Y'all recording this? Yep. We are recording it. Stand up. All right. Let's go. Stand up. Let's go. You foul. Shut your door. I'm pressing charges. That's why I need internal affairs. The turn of affairs. Oh my gosh. Stand cuz you're about to get your pictures taken. It's just that simple. Don't do that cuz you are like that. Stand against the wall. Don't do that. Stand against the wall. Don't do that. Like what you think that for? Look at the camera. Handcuffs on. Look at whatever is you pushing. Look at the camera and stop resisting. Look at the camera. Resisting. Look at the camera. You taking your bad to the limit. I need the sergeant. The sergeant. I need a different sergeant. You was the one at the park. You're racist. I need another one. I need another one. I'm looking. I'm not looking nowhere. Wait a couple hours. I'll wait. I'll wait. Look at her. This is fine to you. Then you in my pockets. Yeah, you're getting searched. You're under arrest. For what? Disorderly. I already told you that. I'm mad officer. I need the warrant. I need the warrant. another sergeant cuz you're a racist. Am I racist? You are. This woman hit the station like a tornado. Wild and completely out of control. She refused to sit still, rambled non-stop, and argued against every small instruction like it was a matter of life and death. Watching her lose a battle with reality was both sad and exhausting. Have a seat. Have a seat. You're making this longer than it needs to. Why you happening to get charges right now? You can be out the door, officer. This lady, have a seat. Sit down. Have a seat. I told you multiple times. You show me available not needed. We're We're past that. We're past. Have a seat. Why won't you sit down? Cuz this happened to me before. Yes, it did. It happened to me at heights. Okay. Well, you're in pens talking now and you're being disorderly. If you act, I understand it. What the? You're not sitting me down the You're doing too much. Multiple lay layers of clothes. No, I don't. Yes, you do. You have a shirt under this, don't you? Yeah. All right. That's multiple layers of clothes. She ended up charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice, all for a situation that she had nothing to do with. If she had put even half of that energy into caring about her kids, she could have avoided this whole mess. On March 30th, 2024, around 1:00 p.m., officers were called to a Walmart parking lot because a toddler was found wandering alone and his mother was nowhere to be found. Concerned shoppers saw him and alerted the authorities. This parking spot, right where that bump is, right? Okay. Right where this tree stop roots are. No, right where your wheels. Okay. Right where the wheels and the child was standing there or sitting down? No. Standing. Okay. So, from the time that you seen him to the time that you called 911 was how long? Each time went by? It was within 10 minutes. Not even that. No, it was probably like 3 minutes because that this group, this couple saw him as well and they called 911. A few moments later, the mother showed up and acted as if nothing had happened. The police officer came to her car to check on the child. While the mother offered an explanation for her absence, her behavior and body language hinted that something was off. Hi, is this your kid? Yeah, I had to run him to use the bathroom. Okay. But he looks like he's not okay. Are you okay, buddy? He's been here a while. He has not been. You can check the time. I literally I literally ran in there and ran out. What's his name? Yeah. Mom. And I had to go to the bathroom really bad. He was sleeping, so I just ran in there. After officers spoke to the mother, they found out she wasn't alone. Her 13-year-old daughter was waiting for her somewhere inside Walmart. So, they started to search for the girl. When they finally found her, she repeated her mother's story. But something still felt wrong. So, you guys both went into the bathroom? Yeah. I don't like when I'm by myself and stuff like that. So, I asked her to come with me. Okay. How long ago did you guys go to the bathroom? Not too long. Okay. And you left your little brother by himself in the car? Um, I thought it'd be fine since he's sleeping. You can't leave the car unattended with him in there. It's hot. Where do you guys live? Um, I'm not really living with my mom, but I was just going to hang out with her for the weekend. Okay. You live with your dad? Yes. Realizing she might be in serious trouble, the mother suddenly broke down in tears. Through tears, she poured out her tragic life story. how she was adopted, how she had survived an abusive marriage, and how the fear of losing her children was too much to bear. But you are the only person that has permission to deal with your son. Yes. So he thought you're not taking it from me, right? I'm taking it. Okay. I thought you I'm really I thought about it. I told Chris Ad if you if you trust your ex or whatever, I don't want anybody to take the kids. I just want to make sure you guys were calling DCF to take them after that because I wasn't sure that I have to call DCF to do I don't care about that. I don't care about that. I just didn't know if this was considered a safe you take them because I don't think it The woman was visibly shaken, her voice trembling with fear, but the officer couldn't tell if this was true panic or a calculated performance to avoid the consequences of her actions. Still, he listened with patience, stayed calm, and explained what would happen next. We're looking We have to look at all aspects, right? So, right now, we're checking cameras for Walmart. Yeah. Not going to lie, if we're checking stuff, we have to So, if we see fit that the time was 15 minutes or more that you were in that store, then you're going to jail. Simple. I've never been in jail. But you know, you also get your your time to represent yourself. Okay. As of right now, we have information, but nothing's secure right now. I'm trying the best I can with all the cards in itself. It's been really stressing. Yeah. Don't give me what you can handle. Main thing right now is you catch your breath because you're going to have anxiety. I know. We We control that ourselves. Okay. I know. Look at it. Move it. Blow out a little bit of air. Breathe in. I have to go to the bathroom again. Suddenly, a female officer stepped in, but she wasn't there to comfort. By this point, the investigation had uncovered enough holes in the mother's story, so it was time to turn up the pressure and get to the truth. Tell me again why you came here. So, I had to use the bathroom. Okay. When we were in the bathroom, okay, my daughter was like want to grab she went to grab a bathing suit while I was at the bathroom. I ran out to look for her. Okay. Um, when I grabbed you, I said, "We have to You probably hear this volume. We got to go. We got to go." We ran back out here and I saw you guys all around the car. Okay. And that's really it. So, you came here just to go to the bathroom? Literally, just to go to the bathroom. Okay. And then you went with your daughter? Yeah. And my daughter came with with with Sorry. And how long do you think you spent in the store? Like five minutes. Five minutes. Literally five minutes. Okay. And you left the car. It was running. The car was running. Yes. With the keys inside. No. No. I don't I don't remember now. I don't remember. Okay. But the kid was in there, but the Yeah, the window The windows were up. No, the windows were down. The windows were down. Yes. Well, the windows were all up. The windows 100% down. The mother began to fall apart under pressure. She started breathing fast and shallow like she was having a panic attack. However, the female officer didn't flinch. She let her know they knew exactly what really happened because the Walmart cameras had captured everything. But you still left the child unattended. I did in this weather, right? I didn't realize it was I didn't think I'm stupid. I'm so I really I really didn't think it. I'm just I'm really rescue is right here and I don't want to take it. Okay, just breathe. Can I have just I really didn't really think and it's stupid. It's so stupid and I'm a idiot and I didn't think right now you're being placed under arrest and found for shoplifting. I didn't shoplift anything. Yes, you did. You passed all points of fail on that basket. I didn't mean to. And you left that dog. You left your daughter inside because you were going to come get your car. Come on. No, I wasn't. Put your hands out right away. Put your hands like if you were praying. Come on. It'll be easier Do not resist cuz it will hurt. Stop. Do not resist. Can't breathe. Okay. Listen. We have to rescue here. You're talking right? You're breathing. The mother completely broke down, or at least that's how it seemed once she'd realized she'd been caught. The officers gave her space to breathe, but no amount of tears and apologies could change what had already been done. The facts were not on her side. I didn't know. I didn't know. Okay. Do you want rescue to check your vital signs? No. I didn't know. I didn't know. I didn't know. If you mind just grabbing your your battery pack. I didn't know. I didn't know. I didn't know. I swear I didn't know. I swear I'm scared. All you got to do want to go to jail. I'm never going to jail. I know. I'm going to jail. I'm scared. Listen, if you would be if you would have been honest with me 100% from the beginning. I did. I was I was You were in there for 24 minutes. I didn't know it was that long. I swear to God. I didn't know. 10 minutes. No, I agree with you. And I That's not the only reason. I didn't I understand that scared. I'll be on the left side. No. And they let them out. So they No, they didn't do that. They got to get down the risk. You're making it worse for your children right now. You got to get yourself together. In the end, the mother was sentenced for child neglect. The charge was downgraded to a misdemeanor and the case was closed under the condition that she follow a DCF case plan. On September 10th, 2023, Flaggler County deputies responded to a call about a man found in a hotel room. A woman who spent the night with him was at the scene along with her 11-year-old child. It turned out the child called his father for help, which led to a delayed 911 call. We had the people come and check him. They said he was fine. He was snoring. How old is he? 60 something. I'm not sure exactly. Do you know it's perfect? So just smoking. Yeah. Was there Was there you guys smoking anything in there? No, we didn't smoke anything. Okay. We We have We didn't smoke it in there. Just smells like it. I don't But we did smoke it in there. Did he use it or anything? No, he didn't. He did smoke. Yeah, he did smoke. Okay. And he did. Was that today? Okay. While officers were trying to gather the facts and make sense of what really happened, the woman sobbed uncontrollably. While it was a traumatic situation, there were moments when it looked like she was overreacting. They're doing what they can. I know. I just move right out of the way. Get suction ready. Wait, bring him back. He's so cold. Oh my god. I can't believe this. I really can't. You don't even do like so messed up because you don't even do them all the time. Oh my god. After a while, officers asked her to write down everything she knew. Instead of writing, she kept talking, doing her best to appear shaken and distressed. At the same time, her traumatized son was sitting right beside her. Oh my god. I call him Nico. What his name is Nick, but I call him Nico. We went to bed first. We came here and we got ready and then we went to bed and we had drinks and stayed there until 2 210 and then we came back here doing work and then he was laying on the bed and I was in the bathroom putting makeup and dressed him cute just to be cute and he's talking to me but he's like staring at the at the ceiling So I thought it was weird and say, "Why you looking crazy at the ceiling?" Like I was joking at him like that. And he was still looking at the ceiling. And so I said, "And my friend him, he was on the porch outside on the patio and I said, "You need to come inside. He's having a heart attack or something. Something's wrong." She spoke about the previous night with vivid detail and seemingly deep emotion, but conveniently left out one horrifying thing. While she was partying with a now deceased man, her 11-year-old child was allegedly spending the night in a closet just a few steps from them. Can you put the tissue box down for me? What? You coming to arrest me? Okay. So, I got to talk about something. Okay. Just put the tissue box down. You were going to be placed under arrest today. Okay. So, go ahead and put your hands behind your back. Are you serious? How? What did I do? What did I do? Oh my god. I lost my friend. You're dating me in jail and throwing out the damn face. I don't belong in there. I can't use the bathroom in there. Oh my god. I don't belong in jail. Get out of here. Your business isn't aired out all over the lobby. I didn't do anything to my child. Okay. Oh my god. Oh my god. Why? I don't belong in jail. I really don't. I'm not a criminal. This lady's taken my kids and now you're taking me to jail. This way. Crazy. I like I just want to go over and cry. And now I got to go in there with people I can't talk to. I can't use the bathroom. Oh my god. The most unsettling part of this situation wasn't the drugs or the it was her acting confused about what she had done after dragging her child through all of it. It's hard to believe a mother could be that irresponsible. In the end, it was painfully clear the only person she ever cared about was herself. Situation was not good. Can we agree on that? Yeah. based off of what was brought into the room that Noah was in and the actions that happened while Noah was there. I didn't do that. They did. They had it. I didn't know they went in the bathroom with it. You said that you you didn't. Okay. It was all happening in front of him. No, it didn't. Nothing happened in front of him. Nothing. I promise you nothing happened in front of him. The child was brought into a severe circumstance that could potentially have warmed the savings. No, I did not do that. I did not bring no around him. I didn't do that. The child was in a circumstance that was unsafe for him to be around. Completely unsafe. Okay. I did not put him in that position. Sadly, this irresponsible mother, even with all the evidence right in front of her, stuck to her story. Nothing was her fault. She was too busy feeling sorry for herself to see the damage she caused to the one she should have protected, her own child. It belong in handcuffs. I didn't put my kid in no situation. And if I ever felt like he was going to see something, I would have left. And what about the grease we shoved in his clothes? I didn't shove him in the closet. It's like this is what you guys were waiting for. It's what you wanted. You keep tricking me all day. I have to get in there. Yeah. This is what you wanted. I'm not a bad mom. I don't care what she's saying. I didn't put him in no fast situation. The irresponsible mother faced a thirdderee felony charge and was released after posting a $2,500 bond. On April 23rd, 2003, officers were called to a beach after a little girl almost drowned because she was left unattended. They found the mother and started questioning her to see where she was during the incident. I just came to to take him to the beach. I understand. But when you're questioning why somebody else is holding your daughter, that means that you should have been there to But literally, we were all paying attention to like I was literally just leaving. How could everybody be paying attention if an honest citizen that is going on right now? Like I don't understand which way and died in the beach there with a 5-year-old brother. Right. What is going on? Okay. You left your daughter in the beach with a sibling that's five years old alone. Be watching them. She was drowning. Someone had to take her out of the water because she almost drowned and died. Do you understand that? Where were you at that point? Mom, I'm not saying I was going to be right there. I've been checking on her every location. I brought a blanket. I brought water. I brought Coke. I brought everything for them to be comfortable for today. Literally last night was my birthday. Today I'm like, "Okay, I'm going to spend time with my kids." I've been through this all day. Like, if that happened for like a second, you know, like if that person would have stepped in, she would have died. I'm not a bad mom. I don't know what to tell you. Never said that you're a bad mom. The mother was clearly upset, but not because her child had almost drowned, but because she didn't want to look like a bad mom. She didn't seem to grasp the seriousness of the situation. The officers then spoke with the bar owner to get a clearer picture of her whereabouts. So, she was at my bar and she had the kids. And the truth is, when the friend got drunk, I think she thought the men were looking after the babies. She literally has had them the whole time. And I if she wasn't if she was a parent, I would have said so. I'm a foster parent. I f I foster through citrus. I'm adopted. I'm very big on kids. She has had them the whole time. And so, when her friend was stumbling drug, these are her friend shoes. I think it's her shoes. She took it to the bathroom because she's like she's throwing up, you know? So that's I don't want you to think that she just she wasn't just not being a mom. After the bar owner gave his two cents about what happened, defending the mom, one of her friends showed up, flashing the badge like she was some hot shot detective ready to fix everything. Turns out she didn't have much to say and wasn't much of a help. Hold on, ma'am. Hold on. Somebody found her daughter. I understand. All right. Somebody found her daughter in the water drowning. Some citizen, little girl saw the baby drowning. Yeah. The baby's out. Yeah. She's wondering why somebody else is holding her daughter and you're trying to tell her you were not there for her. That's why another citizen is a bartender, a waitress, is holding your child. Why doesn't she know that a citizen is not holding her child? Yeah. Can I talk to her? Just give me one second. But I came to tell them that you guys sent your friend to the bathroom. And in that moment, that's all it was. Like it wasn't she was who was in charge at that time? Look, I went with her friend and she was concerned like she if you just Where's her daughter? Can I make sure she's okay? Yeah, she's with Sergeant Benedetta. He's over there underneath the bed. Yeah, you can go over there. Yeah. Okay, thank you. Stay here. Okay, calm down. This was just one of incidents. She walked away thinking that the men are going to take care of it and watch the two the two kids, you know. Now, this lady flashed the badge in my face. I didn't read it. Um, she just wanted to know what's going on, but apparently they're both friends. You know, when officers returned to speak with the mother, her complete disconnect from the seriousness of the situation was shocking. Rather than showing concern for her child's well-being, she focused solely on convincing the officers that she was a good person and a great mom. Not once did she bother to ask how her child was doing. I just brought my kids here to have a good time. I'm not drunk. I'm not anything. If I lost sight of her for a second, then there was a second to But when you walked your friend, you walked your friend to the bathroom. No, I never went to the bathroom. I was here. I was watching them the whole time. I don't even know when the happened. Well, little kids, it happens quick. No, I know. I know. But I brought a blanket. I brought drinks. I bought water. Like, this was our day. I don't know why I'm even here. Like I didn't even know that was happening. I'm a good mom. Like I've never had a felony. I've never done drugs. I've never done anything. Like I don't even know why I'm here. If she was in the water, how far away were you? We were literally at the park right here. I could see her all the time. Like my best friend is her godmother. Like she was like, "Oh, Ivy's playing." She would they would come to me every five minutes. I put water in his face to see his eye on his eye. We were right there. I don't know what's happening right now. Her story didn't line up with what her friend and the bar owner had already told the police. While she claimed she'd been there the whole time watching the kids, they said she went to the bathroom. She kept rambling and whining like the real tragedy was how unfairly she was being treated. Not that her child had almost died. I don't know. The the lady the young girl saw the baby struggling in the water, you know. So out of the time frame when the when the daughter went a second it doesn't mean my mother it could be second I like I didn't she doesn't even get in the water which minds me she doesn't even like the water she's scared she literally stays in the sand I was watching her the whole time I'm like okay I'm going to have a drink with my girls they're here for me they came out of town it's my birthday okay perfect I'm going to have a drink I was literally you can [ __ ] I have videos of me standing on the chair just looking you know where they are. I put sunscreen on them. I brought their bag like these are mying kids. These are my life. I would never never even seeing her holding my child and like what the are you doing? Well, that's what she brought the child all the way from the beach all the way to our patrol cars. It was a nobody stop. It was a second. I promise you. And then shockingly, she had the audacity to badmouth the woman who literally saved her child's life. Not a word of thanks, just whining about how she was made to feel like a bad mother. Her level of self-centeredness was hard to watch. I don't appreciate that girl like talking to me like if I'm nothing. You should have approached her and asked what's wrong or I don't understand. We were cool. We were cool. And she's coming at me like, "I'm a piece of I'm not a piece of mom. It's my birthday. It's Sunday. They have school tomorrow. Like, I didn't come for them to get hurt. Like, why is she acting like I'm a bad friend?" No. You can ask Annie. She's acting like she's a superhero. You get a superhero. Yeah. Yeah. If this can happen to anybody. I understand. You understand? No. I give my face. I literally picked that spot to pay attention to them. I brought blankets. I brought everything. You can check my All right. All right. All right. If it was 1 second, then it was 1 second. And I will never regret that. But I understand where she's come from as like a pedestrian or whatever. And I appreciate her for saving my daughter, but it was one. All right. The more she kept talking, the deeper she dug herself into trouble. It was obvious she was lying. It seemed that her attention that day was on everything else but the children. And the fact that she took zero accountability made it even more infuriating. The bartender said you were with a group and then a group of girls walked an intoxicated girl to the bathroom. No, no, no. I've never been to the bathroom. But the bartender said you were part of the group. No, I've been with him the whole time. That's what he's saying. He's saying, "Bro, his name is Courtney. I told him, hey, if you want to hang out with us, that's fine. I'm not intoxicating. I'm not saying you are, ma'am. I'm just We gota Listen to me. I would work this all angles. Your angle, the bartender, the lady. I would never drink this much if I'm with my kids. She couldn't understand why anyone would question her actions. In her eyes, she had done everything right. What the officers did next was not only shocking to her, but completely unfair in her twisted view. Hey, stand off me. Bring it back. Right. Why am I getting a rest for? What am I getting arrest? Good luck, man. What? Look like my kids. What are you talking about? Understand you love your kids. Accidents happen, right? If it wasn't for that bystander, we'll be doing a What are you talking about? This way. It's my birthday and I came to take my kids to the beach. Like, it was a second. Watch your foot. You weren't watching her, man. Sorry. No, no, I'm watching. Even after being arrested and put into the vehicle, she struggled to understand the reality of the situation or the kind of danger she'd put her child in. The level of disconnection was staggering. Some people don't realize just how irresponsible their behavior is until it's too late. I'm a good person. I don't deserve to be here. I'm a good person. Don't get worked up. Don't get over exhausted from it. You know, I know that you deal with this on a daily basis. I watch your house all the time, right? I brought them to the beach. I And I can't say you are a good mom or a bad mom. I can't be, you know, I'm not joking. My best friends are here from out of town. It's my birthday. My kids came with me. I brought them with me. I went to the dollar store. I brought them toys. They were fine. And I was watching them every five seconds. If that said something, that's crazy. And I'm happy that she saved my child. You get what I mean? But I'm not a bad mom. I promise you, I'm not a bad mom. In the end, this woman was charged with child abuse. She had to face the fact that she wasn't the super mom she imagined herself to be. She was just another irresponsible mother who chose partying over parenting. On August 11th, 2022, officers responded to a disturbing call about a 33-year-old Palm Coast woman abusing her 12-year-old daughter at a Red Roof Inn where she worked. The incident was reported by her co-workers. Allegedly, she handcuffed the child in a hot car, wrote obscene words on her face, and assaulted her with a pipe. Can I help you? So we're here. No. Is your daughter home? No. Okay. All right. He wants to go any further with what we're doing. Namely, guys. Okay. Okay. Okay. Princessella, I got her. I got her. I got her. Princessella, can you stop? Are you kidding me, baby? You're now. Okay, then you guys, please, baby. Let me let me go. No, we can't let you go. I just want to talk. He don't need to touch me. Okay, guys. You need to back out. I know. I want to understand please just let me get up. She'll get up alone. She'll get up alone. She'll get up alone. Look, she'll get Okay, get up. Get up. Okay, stop. Let me have a choice. Can you stop? Please stop. For me, I know, but for me, please listen. They just want to talk. Let me the just for like two seconds. There you go. There you go. Now get up and talk civilized. After handcuffing her, officers placed her in the back of the patrol car. They immediately started questioning her about the disturbing accusations thrown against her. This time she was calm, almost eerily ready to tell her side of the story. What happened at the hotel? Can you start me from the beginning? I left I was at work. I left the hotel because I was going through my daughter's phone. Mhm. Because yesterday was the first day of school and she turned off her phone on me. She didn't come home till about 8:30. She's 12 years old and I took her phone from her and I went through it this morning. As I'm at work, I see what was going on. I asked my boss to give me permission to me to go pick her up out of school. Picked her up out of school. I brought her back to work with me. I stopped here at home. I grabbed my clippers and I cut her hair and I told her, "Jim, am I doing this?" She said yes. This is not the first time you do it. This is the third time I haven't cut her hair because she wants to be doing things that are not age appropriate for her age. That's what it really comes down to. I'm not going to beat her. I'm not going to punish her. I'm not going to lock her up. I'm going to take away what hurts her the most. Her hair. She loves her hair. She's she's her hair is her thing because she knows it makes her look beautiful. So, guess what? Now you have no idea that she wants. Her voice was calm, her story polished, but beneath the surface, something felt deeply disturbing. That uneasy feeling she gave off was impossible to ignore. She showed no fear or remorse, not even when describing the concerning moment she cut her daughter's hair. So, I'm also being told by numerous people that you were shoving trying to shove a pipe in her mouth, making comments of, "Oh, you want to suck, you can suck on this." There was no one even in that office when I was cutting her. It was just me by myself and her. Okay, I'm not saying you're lying, but I have numerous other people telling me completely different. At this point, the police officers had already spoken to witnesses who described the horrific abuse her daughter suffered at the hands of the suspect. But even without blinking, completely calm and collected, she brushed their story aside and clung to her own version of the truth. It's just it's crazy how I have two people that were not Monica call us literally crying about what they just saw. That's why this is all happening. So today you're going to jail for felony child abuse, for battery on LEO, and resisting revolence. After hearing the charges against her, she kept her eerie calmness. She was adamant that she did not abuse her daughter, but simply disciplined her. However, beneath that calm and cold exterior, it was clear that she knew exactly what she had done. It almost seemed like she was proud of it. If you're wondering if I talked to your boss, I did. And your boss said that he had got a phone call as well from another person who said they saw they had seen you sticking a pipe in your daughter's mouth. That's why don't you ask me why? Because she doesn't want to talk to me. Because she wants to protect you. That's she's not No, she could speak. I didn't I tell you if you allow me, I would step out of the room so she could feel comfortable talking to you. because nothing else happened. The girl was so scared that she told the officers nothing had happened despite the cut hair and two witnesses saying otherwise. That kind of fear doesn't grow overnight. Tragically, the loyalty of an abuse victim to their abuser is often shaped by repeated threats and humiliation. That's just where we're at. Just go and get two things situated inside real quick. I know. You can tell us what needs to be done and we can relay it to whoever that is to you. Okay. Well, I want to say bye to my son cuz he has nothing to do with this. I want to say my daughter for for doing all this cuz I literally out of here. Your daughter didn't do a thing. At this moment, her mask slipped. She blamed her daughter for everything, painting her as a problematic and rebellious teenager. She even insinuated that the police officers were the villains who were about to destroy her family. She on the other hand was the persecuted martyr, at least in her own mind. So now on top of all my responsibility and my bull I have to deal with. And guess what? You guys take me and guess who you leave two kids with alone. So guess what she's going to keep doing while I'm locked up. Okay. So So who is this? That's my boyfriend. But guess what? Are they okay to stay with your boyfriend or do you want us to call someone else? Listen to me. What makes you think you're going to listen to him? If she's sucking behind my back, what makes you think she would have suck his back? Where's her where's her phone at? So, you pretty much pretty much in all the reality. I get you. I know you're just doing your job. I get it. And I don't want you. You're pretty much just giving her the freedom to go run around tonight. Literally, that's what you're doing. You're giving me the freedom. Mommy's not here and only is that nobody. And guess what? Mommy's behind bars. So mommy can't come get me and I'm going to do whatever the [ __ ] want to do tonight. Her act didn't fool the officers. She was charged with three felony counts, aggravated child abuse, battery on law enforcement officers, and resisting arrest. Her bond was set at $22,500, and she was released from Flaggler County Jail after posting it. On November 5th, 2023, officers rushed to a home after a young woman reported two individuals who overdosed. What they found upon their arrival was even more alarming. A tiny barefoot toddler in a diaper greeted them alone on the porch. Hi, honey. Hi. Hi. What's going on? Hello, Wayne County. Yes, they're there. All right. Both of them. What's going on? What's going on? Oh, you're okay. Are you you two or No. Are you okay? A little bit like took a little bit of blood. Okay. While two lifeless bodies lay on the floor, the little boy wandered in and out of the bathroom, giggling and running around them. The mother, obviously intoxicated herself, was completely unaware of how disturbing it looked to the cops. Come on. Right here. I don't know if you want to You want us to get one out? Tell her we're working two codes. CPR that one. Okay. You want us to pull one out is what I'm asking. Pull that one out. Start on here. I'm sorry. I don't need to. You're good. We administered one to bolt so far. Okay. You got that more? No. We we have troopers coming up. We're good now. Right. There's good. How do you go? Yep. I can probably figure it out. Attach this. I don't know if I'm doing it right. This is my first time doing it right. The paramedics also rushed to the scene and immediately took action. They did everything they could to bring the victims back to life. When they finally got a pulse, there was a clear sense of relief in the room. Provide chest compressions to the beat. Yep. We have a pulse. One hand should be in center. The other hand should be on top of first hand. Dominic, I've got a pulse over. You got to hold still. Yeah. Nice. Oh, she's she's fully breathing now. That's good. There we go. Hands working. That's pretty good. Hey. Hi. There we go. Let's get your head out. Oh, there we go. Hey, can you talk to me? Remember to push by. What's your name? After the successful resuscitation, the officers looked around for the little boy that greeted them at the door earlier. He was nowhere to be found. Thankfully, a concerned neighbor noticed something was wrong and took the mother and the child to his home. There was a kid, too. Where did she right now? She's in my apartment next door. Okay. Is anyone with her? We got to keep an eye. My girlfriend is with her. Okay, good. Okay. She said she did, too. She did. So, I'm going to say if she goes up an ew, too. Yeah. I don't know how this is. You're going home. He's He's not here. He's on the phone with her right now. I just didn't want her and the kid. And granted, she kind of should see this. So, she stopped. Copy. The kid doesn't need to see this. Yeah. No, no, I agree. The paramedics performed a miracle. The woman, who had been technically dead less than an hour ago, was able to walk out of the house on her own, even though a little dazed. The ambulance was waiting out front to take her to the hospital along with the other individual who overdosed. Keep walking. I'm really confused. Easy. Just remember now. What's your first name? Amber. How old are you? I'm sorry. Um, honey, what's your last name? They have it, I think. The the deputy's going to grab it. Yeah, I'll get it. Your date of birth, your birthday. Okay. What year? Uh, 2002. 9:30, 2002. All right. All right. Thank you. We got a middle initial amber. What? Do you count what your middle initial is? R. R. Okay. We got to bring back. All right. That dude's gone. They're ambulance. Thank you guys so much. Thank you. Good luck. Nice job. Thank you. Literally my first EMS call ever. So, congrats. After the two overdosed individuals were revived, police officers turned their attention to the young woman who had called for help, Riley. They casually asked her a few calm questions to piece together what had happened that night. We were all drinking a little bit. Okay. And then they left. I I wasn't aware. I was in the other room trying to put my son to sleep. As you can see, he's still freaking awake. Obviously, now we had all the flashing lights and people running around. So, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, so yeah. So, they left. I didn't know what like why they left or anything until they got back. Okay. And um they said it tasted weird or whatever. So I tried I just put it in my mouth to try some um just just like a little bit on the end like on the tip of your finger or something. Yeah, I put like a little bit on my finger to try it. What was it? It didn't taste right. She got up and she said she felt dizzy and went into the bathroom. Um I don't know if she threw up, but I did see a little something on her shirt. Yeah, I remember hearing him try to wake her up. I got up like 5 minutes later to go check on them and they were just both passed out. Since Riley was also intoxicated, officers placed her in their vehicle to wait for an ambulance to take her to the hospital. Even though she was not feeling well herself, it didn't change the fact that she shouldn't have had a drinking session with her friend while her son was there. Yeah, this was an unexpected night. Tell me about it. It was my first EMS call. So, ever? Yep. I'm new. So, that's nice. Good for you. Yeah. I wasn't even like drinking like that. What? Like, what were you drinking? It's like they were drinking a tea, twisted teas. There was a Mike's hard and a Levette blue. I had a couple sips of the twisted tea, but that was it. I had a rough night just cuz my son wasn't going to sleep, so I didn't want to stay up or anything or pass out or whatever. Like, I was just trying to focus on putting him to sleep. As they spoke, her speech became slower and more slurred, like she was going to fall asleep. The officer kept talking to her because if she lost consciousness, things could take a dangerous turn. So, these people that were here, you said you don't you don't know them real well. No, the the dude's my temporary like roommate. Okay. Um and then you know Yeah. What is it? Gatesu. It starts with an M. I don't really know how to um spell it. So, your roommate wanted a drink. So, and and the cocaine, I guess, but I didn't know until they got back. And I didn't even really want to do anything, but they said it tasted weird. And I don't know. I just had a a feeling like I probably shouldn't have taken it, but I just had like a feeling and I just wanted to try it, too. And then yeah, it turned off like a weirdo. There was still one more thing to take care of. The little boy was safe at the neighbor's house, but officers urged Riley to call a family member to come and take him for the night. So, she called the boy's father. So, I detained? No. No, I don't think so. Am I being detained? As of right now, yes, cuz we're And we're still waiting on EMS, don't forget. Okay. So like right now you're basically our responsibility because of the situation at hand. I can't. So I just I know I made the I hope I made the right decision. Honey, yes, you did. Yes. You potentially just saved both of your lives. I made the right decision. So yeah, I I definitely feel bad about it even though I didn't really know what was going on and everything. No, it's okay. I You made the right decision. I mean, if you didn't call, who knows where they'd be right now. Right. Right. Riley and the boy's father agreed that the boy's grandma could come and pick up their son. The officers did their best to reassure Riley that the child was safe and would be cared for. Even though she just put her son in danger with her poor decisions, the officers still prioritized her well-being. So, we're going to be bringing you to the hospital almost immediately. Is it okay if it's okay with them that your neighbors watch your kid until whoever shows up? Yeah, that's fine. I just have to pack a bag for him. So, we're going for grandma's house. Okay. Where is his stuff in your apartment? When grandma comes, why can't grandma go in the apartment and pack up this know? She'll figure it out. Don't grandma, right? After 3 days, when everything had settled down, police officers came back to the house. They had a legal duty to carry out and they handled it with such care, patience, and dignity that it's impossible not to admire them. Hey Riley, how's it going? Can we talk to you? Yeah. How's How's everybody doing? We're good. Everybody's alive. Yeah, it's good. What's up, bud? So, you said Gates is coming back. Yeah, he is. Okay, let's go back. Did you you tested what was in there? Did you? I'm assuming. So, as far as the drugs go, it's not something where we're going to charge anybody with it. Even if we wanted to No, because not So, here's here's the thing. When uh whenever we do these tests for him, it's like a stupid amount of money anymore. So, the officers made sure to handle the situation as calmly and gently as possible. With the child around, no one wanted to create another traumatic scene. They carried out their duty perfectly from start to finish. No one's in trouble for like the and like that, right? You you guys you went through a traumatic experience. We're not doing anything with that. All right. So, I want to let you guys know that. Is that what I'm assuming what you thought was I'm guessing probably right. Yeah. So, here's what we got to do though because And again, I'm going to work with you guys. I I just I just want you to listen to me. Okay. So, because there was a child here, we do have to do we do have to we have to do it's an endangerment. That's why CPS was here. So, what I want to do tonight is I want to get I want I want to get you it's taken care of and then uh you we're going to have to try to do like an appointment or something because I'm I'm not going to take your child with us. But, it's something that we have to do. This isn't a this really isn't an option. If it was, maybe we'd go a different way, but we don't really have a choice. Just put your hands behind your back for me. What do you got? You got the lawn mower. How about you head out there and I want you to go see your mama. Okay. I got to make it. So, you go see your mom, hopefully. All right. See you later. Riley was charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17. While she deserved credit for calling the cops instead of running away, she also needed to learn her lesson to prevent the same incident from happening again. Time and time again, these stories show the consequences of being an irresponsible mother. Whether it's abuse, neglect, or recklessness, the innocent children pay the price. Thank you for watching. See you on our next episode.
