on August 9th 2024 officers were dispatched to a residence in response to a domestic disturbance the call was initiated by a pregnant woman who reported a confrontation with her father that ended up in physical violence uh my mom I asked her if she could take me up to Finley mpal or mpal I don't know how to pronounce it after arriving at the scene officers meet the pregnant woman later identified as Megan who appeared distressed and agitated officers began by asking her a series of questions to understand the situation better hello how are you Megan I'm fine huh I'm fine are you Megan yes I'm Megan gotcha all right how we doing sir I'll wait for another officer to get here we'll talk to you guys separate see what's going on let know you're yep what's your relationship father father daughter okay how old are you 24 24 all right what's going on Megan explained that the conflict began when she requested her mother to drive her to Finley to pay a fine in person she expressed frustration at her father's reaction claiming he became confrontational yelling at her for not handling the payment over the phone she mentioned that her phone speaker was malfunctioning making it difficult to communicate as the situation escalated Megan described that her father got in her face started yelling and screaming at her to which she pushed him back uh my mom I asked her if she could take me up to Friendly mpal or mple I don't know how to pronounce it um she was going to take me up there so I can pay some with my fine is your mom here yes okay he gets in my face starts yelling and screaming at me because I'm not doing it over the phone I can't hear on my phone my speaker sucks it's easier just for me to go up there give them cash and call a day get my receipt okay apparently that's not good enough for him I don't know what else to say he's going to get up start screaming at me it's not like I was yelling at my mom or anything I mean just hey can you take me up there go pay my fine and show me how to put money in my bank account cuz I made a bank account yesterday and I've never had a bank account he I don't even know how the argument started honestly hey guys wait a the altercation to which Megan replied that the confrontation was purely verbal until she pushed her father away trying to get him away from her without hurting him all I knows he's in my face screaming at me I pushed him back I'm pregnant okay how far along I'm probably 6 6 to 10 weeks I find out officially the 14th okay who what's Mom's name all right other than that that's I mean he kept screaming at me I screamed over him so he coulding hear me I'm like what the I'm not even trying to argue with you got I'm not trying to fight I have two kids here as is no injuries anything like that while officers were gathering information from Megan they also spoke with her father Robert he described the incident from his perspective saying that Megan became confrontational when discussing her court fees oh verbal okay okay I'll talk to him friendly not friendly I don't know just depends if they don't know you yeah all right oh it's talk out here if that's all right I thought I got her side I'll talk to R here what's going on no she started talking about paying her court fees and getting right over there and then she wants to get belligerent jumping people faces and so I yelled back next thing I know I'm get punched in the mouth so then she runs out here talk about he claimed that she became big and that he responded by yelling back at her Robert then alleged that Megan punched him in the mouth during the argument but due to a traumatic brain injury in the past had short-term memory loss and couldn't recall which hand had been used to punch him call the police on you mouth got punched mou the injury she's a little girl I just ask I got to ask it's part of my job so verbal argument and then punched you in the face with which hand right or left I can't tell you she right hand left-handed I have a TBI so I wouldn't know a short-term memory I just know that's what happened okay anybody else in there see it kids other kids 13year old and a 15y old um you hear that so verbal um about paying fines you heard everything I told her she get paid on the phone she didn't want to listen to me about she thinks that if she uses her credit card on the phone you guys are just going to keep janking money out of her account blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and I had to explain to her that I do it every month for fees traffic fees so you just order it you pay it online she got no I thought you can call the clerk's office paid over pH she she just wasn't getting her way and when she gets way she throw littleit throws little anxiety T put just punched your once yeah me and everything else probably but whatever it is what it is you are biological father right okay I got her side of this story she is uh believed to be pregnant probably okay six 6 to 10 weeks somewhere there hey Megan stay on out here with us okay all right so got verbal then what happened okay he got my face yelling and screaming at me okay and you push him away you pushed him away I muffed him out of my face I don't know what else to say I went like that not like I literally went like this I had my wall in my hand I went like that to his face chest area his face just go like this get out of my face all right any intentional hit him in the face or just pushing him away I didn't even it wasn't close fist or nothing okay were you trying to cause harm to him I was trying to get him away from me not hurt him just get him okay all right talk did you hear what she said okay um she said you guys were obviously agree you guys were yell at each other she said went to push you away face chest area you think that's the case do you think she close hand phally tried to punch you she me stupid I know exactly okay do you think she was trying to physically hurt you always but that's just her all right you really to fill out a written statement I'm not doing all that my daughter D she two on one on the way so she just needs to learn how to keep her mouth shut to be honest well in the state of Ohio it's a little different family members punch each other okay he's going to be arrested pay foress I don't have a choice now that's up to the state well that's what she wanted to do so whatever I know how it works trust me I know exactly how it works whatever I can't only get to her by yelling so so that's why I had to uh specifically ask you if she punched you or pushed you she punch how old are the kids in there can I talk to them Witnesses including two teenagers Robert's 15-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter were also interviewed hey just hey mot just hang before you do that for just a moment I'm going talk to the other kids can they come out the dog dogs are here hi hi guys did you see any of the incident okay gotcha step on out here for me can't I don't want the dogs out or to be any problems all right so you obviously heard the argument the son mentioned that his sister attempted to push their father and that he had not seen Robert physically assault her but acknowledged that Megan threw a punch at him yeah dog wants to be with you yes so being so what happened from your guys uh well all of a sudden my mom she couldn't Tak him or something to and then she started yell everybody started to yell and then all of a sudden she started to push me my dad and then my dad started to kind of go at her and start yelling at her still he didn't really put her hand put his hands on her other than just push her once but she did throw a punch at him and missed and her wallet went flying somewhere that's all I seen she missed the punch didn't hit him in the mouth yeah he did get hit in the mouth with a punch or with a push with a punch a punch cuz she was like pushing back at him and she was hitting him he was trying to get her back and so you did see her physically punch him in the where in the mouth you as well saw that you guys believe she was trying to hurt him she punched him yeah she tends to get like this way a few days ago who is she to you Sister Sister okay and Robert is your guys father his father his father okay who is your parent um my mom yeah okay after Gathering statements from both parties and Witnesses officers explain the legal implications of the situation the officers informed Robert that in the state of Ohio domestic violence charges could be pursued even if the victim did not wish to press charges Robert indicated that he did not want to pursue any charges against against his daughter but understood that the state might take action based on the evidence presented Megan was informed of her rights including the right to remain silent and the right to legal representation despite her insistence that she had not intended to harm her father the officers reiterated that due to the physical altercation and the nature of the complaints they had to proceed with the arrest real quick I'm going read your rights okay you have the right to main anything say can be cour you have the right presence of a lawyer you're not afford to hire one one to be hired at no cost to you Megan do you understand your rights cig that's okay yeah she she's hooked in the front she's all right you here take my phone you here to get the little ones uh yeah okay we'll go in with you make sure there's no problems oh no he's he here oh okay well go ahead then or finish smoking whatever you got to do my phone yeah I need to call maros why you're shaking your head at me I'm not I'm just shaking my head I just don't feel like it's okay for somebody to get in your face and trying to cuss at you and call you stupid reason yeah but that's just verbal that don't he was in my face dude this close SM with me once your nose is touching with me of course I'm going to push you to away he hit me before I did unfortunately we can't we can't punch him or push him away I didn't even punch him it wasn't close face my wallet was in my hand I literally pushed him out of my face but if he's you know un punched him that's cool I'll keep this in mind next time dead ass I don't know what else to say he put his hands on me in my last pregnancy with my first and he actually Clos this punched me did I press charges no should have well he's not wanting to pursue charges but for the state we don't have a choice we need to arrest when we're called and there's he was lying saying that I punched him I didn't I left him out of my base it was open here do you know how long she'll be in there is it it's totally up to the judge so there's no bond with the original domestic violence arrest um you just have to see a judge sometimes they release you immediately sometimes you have to sit a day or two sometimes you sit a little bit to you see them whatever the judge decides I can't answer that personally you can spin them around I I got should be do you have details enough to do this or I mean I'll write what everyone else said as long as you can write what Robert said I get his information yeah I got send me's that iide of suppl I talked to her I talked to the kids what's up she done that kind of make sure you search her and check her Pockets before she gets in your car I can see that there you got your right there you can take it don't station either orse you're going with him just make sure you uh search her before you put her in your car ultimately Megan faced potential charges of domestic violence and
