We're on a cruiser on East. >> SHOW YOUR HANDS RIGHT NOW. >> SHOW YOUR HANDS. >> Turn around. >> Tase him. He's acting. Tas [cheering] him. >> Roll his wrist. >> Roll his wrist. Not all crimes are equal. When time is of the essence, swift action is required. When a kidnapping is reported, [music] officers must pull all of their resources to rescue the victim. And it's quite the relief when good cops stop babies from being kidnapped just in time. [crying] >> [screaming] >> On September 27th, 2022, Flaggler County police responded to a residence in Palm Coast, Florida, following reports that a one-year-old child was abducted. According to the child's mother, her boyfriend snatched her baby, hopped in his car, and sped off with the child on his lap and a loaded handgun beside him. >> All right. What happened? >> I don't even know. He literally was saying, I have no idea. >> Okay. Well, what what happened? I need you to tell me. Like, >> literally, I ordered pizza. He was coming outside. He left his gun in the car. So, He was coming out to get it and he let the dogs out. And as he was doing that, I got the notification that the pizza was coming. So I was like, "Bring the dog back inside. Bring them back inside. The pizza's coming." And in that second, he just flicked and he was like, "How do you know that?" Blah blah blah. And just like went crazy. He grabbed my phone. He started going >> copy. I'm working on it. >> The neighbor down the street he doesn't like and he's back in town or something and he saw his car and like that freaked him out too. He's like, "Why is he here?" >> Is there any court document saying that he's a father? He's on the birth certificate. >> He's on the birth certificate. >> That's his dad. >> Okay. But there's nothing from the court determining that he's a father. >> I don't know. Not that I know. No. We've been together since >> 214 and 216. Direct. >> Although her boyfriend was listed as the father on the baby's birth certificate. There was no court documents proving he was the father. In order to solidify their case against him, they asked the woman if she wanted to press charges. But for whatever reason, that was easier said than done. >> Hey, do you want to pursue charges real quick for him taking your baby? >> No. No. Cuz I don't even know if this is around the floor. I don't want to do this. I don't know. No. >> Okay. We need to make a decision. >> No charges. >> Okay. You understand that your ch your child is on his lap? >> Yes. >> Driving recklessly through the area and you don't want to pursue charges. I don't know. He's never done something like >> Okay, I need you to make a decision. [laughter] >> I don't [snorts] >> Okay, I really need you to make a decision. >> I I don't know. I don't know. Like I don't know. Like >> Okay. Well, he's putting your child's life in danger right now. Okay. So, right now >> it's going to be kidnapping. Okay. She continued to defend her boyfriend, claiming that his behavior was completely out of the blue. According to her, he had never been violent toward her, neither in the past nor the present. Next, the officer took her official statement. >> He was coming outside to go get his gun and he led the dogs outside and I had just got the notification on my phone that the person was pulling up with the pizza. So, I said, "My I have two pitles." So I said, "Bring them back inside." Like they're going to jump all over the pizza person. I brought them back inside and he was like, he just immediately started acting weird and like got paranoid as [ __ ] Looking around, looking around. What did you do? What are you doing? Why is the neighbor in town? Like weird question. He was holding my son the whole time. Wouldn't let him go. I asked him for him like over 20 times. Give me my kid. Give me my kid. Give me my kid. And he just wouldn't let him go. >> Then we It came out here. I kept telling him to bring Diesel inside. I was like, "Bring the dogs inside." Like, we've gotten multiple complaints about the dogs outside. Bring the dogs inside. He's like, "Why do you want him inside? Why do you want them inside? Getting paranoid." So, I was standing in the kitchen and I said, I was like, "I'm going to call 911. I'm going to call 911. I'm going to call 911." And he was like, "No, don't don't. You're just going to make it worse. Why would you do this? Why would you do this to me? Just freaking out." I was just trying to deescalate the situation so I can get my kid back. It carries out out here because I tried to get Diesel back inside. And then he just gets down to the car and he's just looking all in the car, checked the trunk, just looked at everything, looking if somebody was in the car. Apparently, a concerned neighbor had witnessed the altercation and pursued the suspect. And although he did his best to keep up with him due to his erratic driving, the neighbor eventually lost sight of him. Okay. Although the neighbor lost sight of the suspect, he was able to point the police in the general direction the suspect drove off. As a result, deputies caught up with him and initiated a traffic stop. However, the suspect fled the scene, speeding over medians and driving headon into oncoming traffic. The chase finally came to an end after the suspect entered a Target shopping center and pulled into a McDonald's drive-thru. Cornered, he exited his vehicle, clutching the baby and using it as a human shield, which was a really despicable move on his part. >> Show me youring hands, dude. PUT THE BABY DOWN. Put the kid down. >> Put the kid down. >> Give us air. >> Put the [screaming] kid down, dude. >> Put the kid down. >> [screaming] >> Get on the ground now. >> Hey, don't move. >> Hey, get out of here. [screaming] >> That had to hurt. He thought using the child would cause the officers to lower their tasers and negotiate. But he thought wrong. He needed to comply and fast or things were going to escalate far beyond his control. >> Get on the ground now. Get on the ground now. >> Watch. Watch. Get down. >> Get on the ground now. >> Get on the ground now. >> I don't have nothing. >> No. Are you kidding me? Are you guys kidding me? >> Behind your back. >> Go away. >> Get the 746. Stand by. >> Stop resisting. >> Stop resisting. >> You're going to get your hands behind your back. >> Hand behind your back. Hands behind your back. >> Things weren't going well for the suspect. If he wanted the pile on and tasing to stop, he needed to comply. All he had to do was place his hands behind his back, but instead he continued to fight and resist the officers. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Not with that arm. >> You're going to get it again. PUT YOUR HAND BEHIND your back. UH GOT HIM AGAIN. >> Put your hand behind your back. >> Can somebody get control? >> I need to relax. >> No. Who's got a Who's got a hobble? >> Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the officers had their suspects secured in handcuffs, but it came with a cost. [music] The man was bleeding profusely from dog bites and needed medical assistance ASAP. >> Hold still, hold still. Stop. >> Pucks on the front. Enough of it. >> Stop. Please. >> You're putting You're putting some gauze on your leg, man. >> Stop. Stop. Please. Please stop. >> Please stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Are you kidding me? Stop, guys. Stop. Stop. Stop. STOP. STOP. STOP. STOP. STOP. >> STOP. I just relax. >> Yeah. Stop. >> Are you going to relax, >> please? Please. >> You guys ready? >> Is it going head on that side? Yes. >> Got the feet. >> One, two, three. >> Do you seem good? >> Oh, yeah. He's good. He's good. >> Kids 104. He's good. Good. >> I was like, "Dad, dad." Yeah. Dad went for a run. Some of my friends went for a run with him. >> The suspect was treated for minor injuries, and charged with kidnapping, [music] using a minor as a shield, resisting with violence, child neglect, fleeing, and eluding, and reckless driving. On August 15th, 2024, a suspect stole a car from a convenience store parking lot with a 2-year-old child in the back seat. After dispatch received a call from the frantic mother [music] along with a description of the vehicle, the officers quickly caught up with the suspect and the chase was on. Now we are at the home field. Traffic moving over 70. Going down here at Portage found it on portions are dry. Traffic flight westbound on the yo-yo. We're talking westbound passing crush westbound passing critical. >> Stealing a vehicle was dumb enough, but stealing one with a child in the back seat was about the dumbest and most reckless thing the suspect could do. While some chases are called off for safety reasons, when a child's life is on the line, officers won't let that go that easily. through the red light conditions are dry. Grass is extremely light. Everybody's moving over into the school. He's turning into fire. Copy. Nobody's out here. Just trying to hit a cruiser. Coming back out. He's going to come back out the same way he came. Continue. Well, we just turned down. Speeds are 35. Road conditions are dry. Traffic lights are all getting that far away. Dad thinks this is a dead end down here. He's going to get stuck. Just be careful. Okay, just go ahead on at a parker here at either 21 or position to drive. One car got out of our way still on westbound. >> The chase continued on and on with the suspect showing no signs of giving up. Thankfully, the conditions were favorable for a pursuit. The roads were dry and there was minimal traffic allowing the officers for the most part to continue the pursuit safely. >> Traffic super light down to 45 miles an hour. Uh we're still on white transition to drive. Everybody's getting out of our way. Uh on white pond. Uh we're going to be coming up to the highway here in a second. Broken is reflect. God damn it. >> You need to get away from that car, bro. It's on fire. The suspect suddenly stepped on his brakes, causing the officer to slam into the back of his vehicle. As a result, he was injured and out of the chase. But he wasn't out of danger. He needed to put some distance between himself and his cruiser, which was on fire. >> Gas. Come on. Jesus. Come on. It's all right. You're all right. You're right. You're right. >> You're all right. >> All right. There's a There's a stage right here. Oh, >> ambulance coming. >> I didn't see nothing. >> The officer was visibly shaken up. Thankfully, a good Samaritan had stopped and helped him to the side of the road. While some officers continued the chase, others pulled over to check on their fallen comrade. an area around and I helped him over here. >> You guys got an ambulance >> said there was a >> You guys got one coming? >> I didn't I didn't dispatch one. >> Did you disatch one? >> I haven't yet. >> What' you hit? 41. >> We're on Belle. Cruiser radon Belle and east. He's on Belle now. Going uh north east on Belle. East on Below from the south is burn. He's got he's blowing the child out of the car. Unit we take this dude out. Take him out with a cruiser. He's got he's throwing the baby out of the window. The child's out of the car. Cruiser, stop. Get this kid. Get this kid. >> The suspect literally threw the 2-year-old child out of the moving vehicle. Thankfully, aside from a few cuts and bruises, the child was okay. There was a good bet that the suspect would be in far worse condition by the time the officers caught up with [music] him. >> No. Car got the kid. >> Hey. Hey. Careful unit. Watch out. >> The officers had their suspect right where they wanted him, cornered and with nowhere to go. And after everything he had put them through, he was going to need to comply quickly or things wouldn't go well for him. >> Your hands [screaming] up your hands up. Put your hands behind your back. Sir, do you have any weapons on you? >> Do you have any weapons on you? >> Do you have weapons on you? >> Back seat. >> These are locked. The suspect was lucky that he didn't get himself tased or worse. Thankfully, he had enough common sense to know when he had been defeated. And as a result, [music] he was quickly placed in cuffs while an ambulance arrived on the scene. >> Let me get up, sir. Let me get up. Oh, you want to get up now? >> We want to get up now. >> Stay awake, man. Stay awake. >> Yeah. Don't fall asleep on >> You're all right. about like 20 years. >> Hey, what's your name, my man? >> I don't touch me, bro. What the man? >> Answer their questions. >> No talking. >> Who do you think you're talking? You shut your mouth. >> You their questions. >> Shoot me. Use your gun. >> Use your gun. >> Use your gun. >> No, man. You're pass. >> No one's impressed with you. >> No one thinks you're hard. >> I don't give a >> You're in here. No one out there, man. >> So, let's just hear that name. >> I your wife last night. >> Wow. >> No, she doesn't go for fat, dude. type. >> The officer who was injured in the pursuit was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation, though details on his condition have not been released. The 2-year-old child, who was in the vehicle during the chase, was taken to the Akran Children's Hospital for treatment. The suspect faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, willful fleeing, felonious assault on a peace officer, and receiving stolen property. On May 3rd, 2025, police officers responded to a residence after a concerned man reported finding a 2-year-old child wandering alone through the forest. The caller told officers that the girl was nearly hit by a vehicle before a group of men attempted to pick her up and take her away. The officers immediately spoke with the caller when they arrived. >> Thank you. Um, I'm sorry, husband father. I'm shaking right now. Um, me and my daughter out in the yard playing. I look up >> right there >> where that fallen tree is. >> Yeah. Came out of here. I don't I know everybody around here. This is not anybody's kid. >> Came out of them woods. I'm shaking right now. >> What kind of truck was it that drove up here? >> It was a white car. I'm not sure. It looked like an old Toyota, like a '9s, >> like a like an old Corolla or something >> kind of. And it was full of looked like migrant men. >> Okay. >> And they weren't acting suspicious or anything, but they were like, "Hey, hey, is this your kid?" I was like, "No." And then they were trying to make her over there and I was like, "No, the hell you won't." >> Uh, >> hi. >> Hi. >> I was over my friends with him disappeared. >> Okay, give me one second right here. >> Mother, >> the toddler's mother arrived on the scene. But instead of being overwhelmed with joy after finding her daughter safe, she appeared to be more frustrated than anything. It was clear to see that the man who located the child was more concerned than her own mother. >> What did you do? >> Yeah. >> Delta Charlie. >> Good. >> Um, do you have an idea real quick? >> I do actually. It's in my pocket at the moment. >> Birthday weekend and I was shopping and >> she mom arrived in a car. >> Yes. This literally just happened and not three months ago and Yeah. And now it's gonna happen all [music] over again. You can see [sighs] >> that I So we're playing. I look up. I see a little child. I'm waiting for somebody to walk in the car. >> Mhm. >> What was the address again? You said >> she had to have come right out of here. >> Mhm. down the side of the house. It literally just goes along the middle ditch and he was able to come right down the middle ditch through this. >> Okay. And where Cody go >> the big one. >> C O D Y C O D Y G O B L E >> G O B. >> According to the child's mother, her partner Cody had been looking after their daughter before she went missing. Although the mother insisted that their daughter had only been missing for five minutes, the officers quickly determined that her story wasn't adding up. >> But I'm the deputy who's here to investigate whatever happened today. Okay. >> Okay. >> So, can you tell me uh what happened to your knowledge? >> All right. To my knowledge, literally, I can probably tell you the phone call. I received a phone call. I just got done like shopping, picking my friend Amanda up. I was dropping her off at home, >> just hanging out a minute, you know, chitchatting, whatever. Girlfriend, too. and he called me on the phone and said he couldn't. >> Who's he? >> Okay. And which she's only like two blocks down. So I immediately came and double checked the house. And then I soon as I got in the car to leave and drive around the neighborhood, I seen the deputy here and I came here. >> And why didn't he call the police? >> That he was hoping that hides. She likes to hide. Does she hides by She does it to me all the time. man. Do you >> He doesn't run away on >> the woman told the officer that this wasn't the first time that her child had wandered off. Earlier that same year, the police were called after a neighbor reported that her daughter had been spotted wandering around their neighborhood. After speaking with the mother, the officer had more questions for the man who had found her daughter. So, I was sitting up here and we were just running around and I saw corner of my eye seen her come out the woods over here >> like right out of here and I was just waiting for somebody to walk cuz it was like adjacent to the truck >> walking across walking. >> Okay, >> perfectly fine. And then when I got up and walked over here, I looked there was nobody coming >> and right in front of where this white SUV, my friend Cliff was right there, there was a like an older I want to say like a Toyota, maybe a four-door. And there was probably four or five Hispanic men in there. They weren't they weren't acting aggressive or anything and they were like heys. I'm like no. >> And they were trying to take her over there to there's a gentleman lives here named Mike where the where the truck is over here. >> Yeah. >> And they're like I was like no no no they got boys it's not. And they're like well take her. I was like no you're not. So I was sitting right there and this is when I standing right here. >> You appear to be in distress panting. >> She was very happy. Didn't seem scared at all. She seemed >> Are you familiar with Have you ever met before? >> Never. Okay. >> Never. Um there's a lot of children that resemble the neighborhood, but I can personally say I've never seen her before. I've seen >> and there was obvious no one or no adults around just out of >> nothing. Just the the car full of the strange men. >> The officers had enough information to confront Cody, the father. They determined that nearly 3 hours had passed since the toddler went missing, which was pretty far off from the 5 minutes that the mother had originally claimed. >> No. Cody, this is the Indian River County Sheriff's Office. If you're inside the house, make yourself known. We are going to make entry. >> He's not known to fire something. She said he would not be violent towards us cuz he knows what's good for him. >> Flags, >> they used to go they used this this house used to be all white supremist out of prison. >> So it appears >> still hot. >> Yeah. No, >> it appears he took a bike. >> Those wood you see on we we go. They're all gone. They're all houses being built. >> He uh looks like he picked up his bike over the tarp, dropped his phone, and then the bike went >> west. >> Yeah. >> Cody's other young children were found three blocks away, but as for Cody, he was nowhere in sight. While they waited for DHS to arrive on the scene to look after the children, the officers received an anonymous tip that Cody had gotten a new phone. And with that, they were able to make contact the next day. >> Yeah. So, Cody, um, would you be willing to talk to me in person? >> Nope. Because y'all say y'all shoot a warrant off of my arrest. I'm definitely I'm not going back to jail. I don't want to go to jail. I don't deserve to go to jail. I don't understand. I don't I don't I I don't want to go to jail, man. My wife My wife's leaving me and camping together. >> So, >> so Cody, let me ask you this, man. What What happened yesterday? >> What? What happened? >> All I did, she was playing right there in the driveway. Like my buddies just left uh from going to the scrapyard or whatever, you know? Like I was literally probably 20 ft from her, you know? And then she I looked down. I'm like, damn, I don't see her. So, and me and my wife was just texting at the time and stuff, you know, and I mean, he could go back and look on the phone. And then I was like, I said, "Oh, God." I called her right away and said, "Brandie, uh, I went upstairs and looked, you know, last time she just went to my kids's bus stop, thank God." But she followed her feet tracks down the ditch and then I heard Brandy coming. So, I wanted to [music] let my wife know, you know, like, "Hey, the officer's down there at the corner of the road. Go talk to him. you know, >> okay, >> and that stuff. And um yeah, she just she just ran out of the ditch. >> So Cody claimed that while his daughter was playing in the ditch, his dog got off its leash and took off. He said that when he chased after the dog, his daughter had disappeared by the time he got back. Still, it was hard to imagine how far a 2-year-old could go after mere minutes. >> Which way did your dog take off when you were trying to catch your dog? Where'd your dog go again? >> Well, he goes to my neighbor's house directly like right behind me. Um, his name's Ian, >> but opposite opposite of the ditch bay cuz he would have saw >> direction. >> Right. Right. So, all I did was step out in front of my driveway. I walked out the ditch to the dirt road. >> Okay. >> And Costa was already running around the corner like headed back south on the dirt road. Headed south again, you know. So, I already know where he was going. So I turn around and like three minutes. It wasn't even that. You know what I mean? >> Let's say for a moment that Cody was telling the truth and that the whole thing was just a big misunderstanding. Still, there's one glaring question that made him seem guilty. And that was why he didn't call the police when he realized his daughter was missing. >> So let me ask you this. Why didn't you call 911? Sir, I I don't have a phone. >> I mean, I do have a phone. I do have a phone. Yeah. I did. >> Well, at at the time you had a phone because you were talking to Yeah. to your wife. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You're right. I I didn't I'm so used to not having one. I literally just called her like 4 days ago. >> Yeah. >> But um Yeah. So, I I didn't feel the need to call 911 because she didn't go far normally, [music] you know. >> Well, how did you know you're located? I seen the officer or Brandy or my wife. She went around the block and then she came back and then we both was in the middle of dirt road. I was on a bike and she was in a car and I seen the officer down there uh talking to the neighbor and then my wife went down there, you know. >> Okay. >> Talk. >> But you see how it looks though when you >> It does take off. You never called the police about it. You didn't you didn't come out to say, "Hey, listen. [music] I stepped away for a minute. She disappeared. Instead, you you left your phone in the ditch bank and then you took off. >> No, I didn't I didn't leave it in the ditch bank. It was I It must have fell out of my pocket or something. >> After speaking to Cody on the phone, he went into hiding, eluding law enforcement over a week. Another sign of guilt. However, officers eventually received a tip that he was spotted at a local arcade and quickly moved in to make an arrest. >> Hands up. Let me see your hands. >> Hands are up. >> Let me see your hands. Come back here. >> My hands are up. >> Turn around. Turn around. >> Got himself. >> Do what you got to do, bud. >> We are in the custo. >> Good. They're over there stealing my >> Maybe you should just turn yourself in like you say. >> Turn myself in for what? I didn't even know I had a warn out. >> Come on, man. Come on, man. I've been at the house. I've been at the house. >> Everything he claimed about the incident was a complete lie, and the officers knew it. He knew he had a warrant for his arrest and hadn't been staying at his home. He'd intentionally been hiding from them to avoid the consequences of his actions. >> That's all right. I made my bed out lying. I have no problem doing it. >> It was I've been known, but I didn't care because I was just I was comfortable, you know, I guess you'd say. You want one more? >> Yeah, I'll smoke one more. I do one more. >> All right. >> We can't take these to the jail anyway. So, I might as well at least let you get your worth because we can't we can't submit this either in the property. >> No. Yeah, you got to >> Yeah, we got to dispose of it. So, >> like I said, you're being cool with me now. I gave you my word. I was just >> Yeah. I mean, I should have talked with you in the beginning. You know what I mean? But >> you calling me first, remember? >> Yeah, I do. Yes, sir. I mean, I don't I was cool with you on the phone once I >> Yeah. Yes, sir. You were. I mean, I told you. >> I I I know. I know. I know. Cody had no one to blame but himself for his predicament. If he had acted like a responsible parent and simply called the police when he noticed his daughter was missing, he wouldn't have been placed under arrest. The case against Cody is still pending. On November 26th, 2022, officers responded to a residence following reports that a mother had broken into her parents' home and kidnapped her child. even though she didn't have custody of her. When an officer arrived on the scene, he spoke to the suspect's sister and parents who filled him in on the situation. >> What's going on right now? >> So, this is what had broken through. We weren't sure if like we needed to leave it. >> Uh, yeah, probably should. So, what's going on around here today? >> Um, well, we had a good day. We took our grandson and then got home and Bianca came over and wanted to come And I told her no because she was here last night and hit him. >> Okay. >> And I told her, "Not today." And she said, "Well, Saturday is my day to see him." And I said, "Not today." >> Okay. >> And so she tore the screen door off the latch and then she broke the glass and came in and grabbed him and took off. >> She didn't have custody of them. >> The parents told the officer that their daughter, Bianca, lived just down the street. After the break-in and kidnapping, her father went to her home and retrieved her child, Eli, whom they had custody over. >> So, you both live here, right? >> Yeah. Okay. >> And she's just >> She's my daughter. My granddaughter, >> sister. >> Said something about the courts are involved in this in some way. Do you know anything about that? >> Um, >> are they involved in the custody? >> Well, we have legal custody of Brighton. Okay. >> He's 10. leave a copy of Eli's ongoing cuz he had >> they couldn't find his father and they had to go through >> um >> certain steps by trying to find him first. >> Okay. >> So, he's Eli, >> but we do have custody of Eli through child services. >> Okay. >> And that's who she broke in is Eli. >> I got another officer coming. I'll probably have to go over there and talk to her. I mean, based on this, I mean, if she doesn't have authority to be here, she doesn't have him. I mean, we have some pretty serious charges that we could take her on right now. Is that what you guys want to do? Like, >> I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do because like he left her in last night because she had brought back sweatshirt and then she ended up hitting them. >> Okay. >> And that's that's the second time she hit him. >> There's no doubt that the family was between a rock and a hard place. The parents were torn between their concern for their daughter Bianca and their need to protect their grandchild. However, eventually they decided to put their grandchild first and agreed to press charges against Bianca. >> What does her physical appearance look like? Did she or did you when you saw her in here? >> She's scary looking. >> Okay. Did she What I'm asking is did she look like she was possibly high on drugs, drunk, anything like that? >> She's not drunk. Is she she's either high on something or she's coming home? Okay. Did she appear >> wild? >> She appeared wild. So, did what I guess what I'm getting at is did she appear to she could look like she could cause harm to others or herself >> when you saw her? >> Yes. >> Yeah. Does she have a look in her eye? Like you said, she had that deer in headlights look, you know, do you think in her state right now, um, is she a risk to herself or others possibly if she was around other people right now? >> Yes. >> Oh, yes. >> Yes. >> After speaking with the family, the officers had all the necessary information to make an arrest. Afterward, Bianca's mother led the police across the street to her daughter's home, where they prepared to confront her. >> Franklin, POLICE, >> POLICE DEPARTMENT. BIANCA, WHERE YOU AT? MAKE yourself known. >> Bianca, police department, come on down. >> Bianca, >> we know you're here. Come on out with your hands up. >> Bianca, where you at? Come out with your hands up in front of police. >> Frank police. >> SHOW YOUR HANDS RIGHT NOW. >> SHOW YOUR HANDS. >> PUT THE BACKGROUND BACK. >> Turn around. >> No, I didn't do nothing. [screaming] >> Turn around. >> I didn't do anything. >> Turn around right now. >> Don't reach for nothing. >> I don't have anything. >> Don't reach for nothing. >> I don't have anything. >> You're under arrest for burglary kidnapping. >> Burglar. No, >> I refuse. >> Turn over. >> Turn over. >> That is my proof. >> Bianca was unwilling to comply with the officer's [music] orders. Like so many other suspects, she had every right to dispute the charges, but that wasn't the right time. Eventually, the officers were able to get her into cuffs, but only after she made some startling accusations about her family. >> People are my children. They've been >> my kids and me. >> I have I have the backpack. >> Shut up. >> It's over. Two, three. >> Yeah. You got any weapons, too? >> You got anything on you? >> Okay. >> Okay. It's okay. >> Nothing. All right. >> No. >> Okay. We're going to walk you out. Okay. >> Please take that backpack. >> We're going to get the book. >> No. Please. >> I told you we're going to go back. Let's go. >> We're going to talk about in a minute. Shut off. >> No, it's okay. Go that way. Go that way. I will be fine. Hold on. >> We'll go this way. Watch your step. >> I'm fine. You >> sure you don't want to shoot? >> Trying to break out of my house. >> Okay. All right. >> Please take that dog back. Please. It's my house. >> We will. We will. What do you want out of the backpack? What's all in there? >> Oh, that's my evidence against my children. What they're doing to me. >> Can you calm down? I just got to tell you something real quick. Okay. Bianca told the officers that she had evidence in her backpack that her parents had beening [music] her and her daughter. However, before the officers got into that can of worms, they first read Bianca her rights and transported her to the police station. >> You're not taking me anywhere. >> I got them. What do you need? >> This is falsifying evidence. >> We were doing abduction 2902. >> Here, stand over. Stand over there, please. >> I don't want to have to go hands on with you, okay? Please, just stand over there. >> No, I want to see the proof. I didn't even have kids with me. No, >> you're lying. You weren't with me a couple months ago. You've never been out with me. >> I want out. This isn't even a police station. >> No, I want my phone call. >> I want my phone call. I want my phone call. This is illegal. This is illegal. And the more you do, turn on your body cam. >> It's already on. >> No, it's not. You turn it off. >> Camera's right here. Turn on. >> Everything's on. >> Back at the police station, Bianca remained uncooperative. She claimed that she didn't have to comply with the officer's orders because they didn't have a search warrant to enter her home, nor was she with her child when they entered. >> More. You guys rack up your own charges, don't you? >> We're trying to arrest you for something. >> You can't arrest me. You can't arrest me. You can't arrest me. You did not have any right to enter that house. Oh, no. No, no, no. You're going to give me a call right now. >> I'm not right. >> Yes, you are. >> We have to go see each other. >> Well, here. Go back to the cell. Okay. >> I want my lawyer. >> If you don't go, >> I want my lawyer. Okay. >> I want my lawyer. It's in my legal right. >> Doesn't matter if you go in the cell or not. So, you actually >> Yes, it does. >> Right here. Bianca search. >> Listen, Will you do this the easy way or the hard way? Okay. >> I want my lawyer. >> You have one more opportunity. I want my lawyer. I want my lawyer. >> I want my lawyer. I want my lawyer. I want my >> I want my lawyer. I want my lawyer. >> There was no point in resisting. All Bianca was doing was adding more charges to her wrap sheet. She was outnumbered by multiple officers. And as a result, she was quickly overpowered and placed [music] in cuffs. Not good. All right, breathe. Relax. Just quit fighting. You're making it harder on yourself. >> I want my lawyer. This is illegal. >> Okay. What's your lawyer's name? >> What's your lawyer's name? Give him a call. >> Call an appointed one. >> What's your lawyer's name? >> Call a public defender. Okay. Speak to HIM ONCE SHE GETS COURT. >> RIGHT NOW. >> YOU have once you >> right now. Liar. Bianca was charged with burglary, interference with custody, resisting arrest, and criminal damaging or endangering. [music] On November 3rd, 2022, police officers responded to a residence following reports of a kidnapping. According to reports, a babysitter was looking after a child when its aranged father broke in, took the baby, and fled the scene. >> Hello. >> Good morning. >> Good morning. Are you the babysitter or you mom? >> I'm the babysitter. The mom went to work. >> Where does mom work at? >> Talk to her. >> Um, >> yeah, we'll need to. >> Yeah, he alluded to before in the past I had a problem with him and I'm not going to argue with him with his baby and I don't want him me or anything cuz he said several times I got a gun. I y so I'm like I'm not going to fight somebody. I'm just a babysitter. >> No, I got you. >> I was sitting right here in the sofa. He just busted in the door. >> And when you say he busted in the door, does he have a key? >> Open the door. He came in. >> Okay. >> Usually the door is locked, but she had just went out the door. >> Okay. >> She just went out the door. >> So the door hadn't been locked up back up yet. >> No, she went out the door. I went to get the baby some juice and a bottle. Get ready to bring the baby to juice in a bottle and lock the door. Before I can lock the door, he had already opened the door and came. >> Okay. While the officers continued talking to the babysitter, the child's mother arrived on the scene. It seemed as though the baby's aranged father had waited for her to drop off the child before barging into the babysitter's home and kidnapping the child. >> Yeah. What's your What's your daughter's name? >> Yeah. Can I get a picture? And then just forward to the entire police department. >> Go up against him. >> This is him. This is him. >> Okay. He probably don't know you're here. >> Hello. You kidnapped our daughter. >> No. Are you serious? >> Yes, I'm serious. >> Why would I pull up? >> You waited till I got on the bus and pulled up and kidnapped our daughter from my house. >> No, I just I got her come pick you up. Where's your >> I said no, do not get her. I was on my way to work and you know that. >> You're trying to be funny now and trying to play games now, but you just kidnapped our daughter. >> What? >> I said no, do not take her. Sister Mir told you I said no. Here's a better one. >> Where are you at? >> Where are you? >> Where are you? >> On the way to work on the bus. >> I'm at the >> You're at my job. You're at >> Yeah. >> Now the bus won't get me there till like 8:15. >> It drops me off at 8:15. >> Okay. It's about 1 minute. Are you Have you been to the bus terminal yet? >> Yeah, I'm on five. >> You're outside the terminal now? I'm on number five on my way there. >> Okay. >> The woman explained that she had a protective order against her ex-husband. According to her, he was physically abusive and had left her with permanent injuries. Furthermore, she said he had a warrant for aggravated assault and child cruelty. While they were talking, the officers received word that the suspect had been spotted and was attempting to flee the scene. >> We'll be right back. No, this is it. We might have him forwarding towards commerce. >> All right. So, you know where I'm talking about right now? >> Not really. >> Okay. 362 is about to block him off. >> I see him now. >> All right. Going into the golden pantry. He's [screaming] bailing out. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. >> The suspect obviously wasn't too bright. Did he really think that he could kidnap his daughter without her mother calling the police? Either way, he was right where he said he would be, allowing the officers to quickly catch up with him. your hand. >> Your hand. >> Check this. >> Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get the kid. >> I got both hands. >> I got this hand. I got this hand. I got >> I got it. Tas him. Tas him. He's [screaming] acting still. Tas him. Tas him. Stop. >> Roll his wrist. Roll his wrist. >> The suspect was arrested along with his girlfriend Tabitha, who was also in the vehicle. He claimed that he hadn't been resisting even though he ran from the officers. Furthermore, his claim that he had done nothing wrong [music] was ridiculous and everyone knew it. >> Man, bull, man. He did nothing wrong, man. Would have got my damn daughter to pick my damn wife up. >> Going nowhere. >> Yeah, you're definitely not going anywhere. >> I know that. >> I was just trying to fix my harm. >> You can look my record everything. Okay. But right now you're in the car with someone who has a kidnapped child. Okay. >> That's not a car >> going on. >> Hell no. >> What is going on? Who's closing this car right there? >> Dang my goddamn car for no goddamn reason. >> That is his daughter. >> He has he has no legitimation. zero. >> Whether it was his child or not, legitimate fathers don't typically barge into [music] someone's home, snatch their child from their babysitter's arms, and flee the scene. With the suspect secured in the back of a police cruiser, the officers questioned Tabitha. It's >> his daughter. He's been She's been letting him come and get her just about every day. She's been letting him come and get her, pick her up, and everything. >> All right. So, were you with him when you picked her up? >> No. Okay. So, he came and picked you up somewhere else. >> Yeah. >> Appreciate your help, sir. >> Yes, sir. No problem. >> Why didn't he stop? >> I don't know to be honest. >> Well, the reason all this is happening like it is is because I guess the baby was with the kidnapp with the babysitter and said he just came over and grabbed the baby. >> She had just called him to talk to her. He she he was we were on our way to go get to Well, he was on the way to to her. So, your impression is that he had he regularly goes and gets a kid? >> Yes. >> The man claimed that his ex had called him and told him to pick up their child and meet her at her workplace. But if that were the case, there was no reason for him to take the police on a high-speed chase, reaching speeds of over 100 mph. >> God damn, man. You You acting like you can't damn P. What the going on, man? >> Well, you know what's going on, man. >> No, I don't goddamn know. I asked you. And if you're right, tell me what am I being arrested with? Hey, where was the kid at? In the car. >> 71. >> In the car seat, mother. Where you think? >> She was in her car seat buckled up, mother. >> Where you think she was at, you dummy mother? >> I'll be out tonight, you dumb. >> Huh? He got me again, mother. Give me another ride. Guarantee you going to have to run again. [music] >> Tell me my charges, hom. You got kidnapping, felony, fleeing, and you got >> Bro, you know goddamn well this ain't no I told him >> this is not no goddamn kidnapping, bro. This mother been doing this man forever on me, man. You hear what I'm saying to you, bro? >> Tabitha said that she was asleep in the passenger seats when he snatched his daughter from the babysitter's home. She claimed that she didn't think anything of it as [music] he collected his daughter every weekend. When the police tried to stop him, what did he say to you why he wasn't stopping? >> Nothing. He just kept driving. I was holding on to the baby's car seat. That way, the baby wasn't just flying everywhere. >> I got you. You were asleep. That's your story. >> Yes, I was asleep. >> There's a camera over I haven't watched it yet, but like there's a camera in the neighborhood because he like parked away from the scene. Why didn't he just pull up to the house? Why did he do like a ninja? And >> I don't know, but you didn't know he was going to go in there couple days. >> But you didn't know he was going to go in there and take the baby. >> I didn't even know anything. until I woke up and she was in the car. >> And you when y'all went to Waffle House, >> were you did he ever tell you why he took her or make any statements? >> No. Like I said, I'm used to her him getting her. He gets her all the time. I got pictures of my mom. >> You get her phone number and stuff. >> At that point in time, the officers had no reason [music] to hold Tabitha. However, if new evidence came to light in the future that she was consciously involved, then the officers would be paying her a visit. Next, as the mother arrived on the scene to pick up her baby, the suspect was transported to jail. >> Take me inside, man. We ain't got a damn thing to talk about. >> Okay. >> Straight up. Mother y'all weak. >> Yeah, I I know. That's right. >> I had my seat. >> You did for real. >> They still >> You work out? >> No. >> All righty. Come on, man. >> Work out naturally like this. >> You naturally? I wish I was, man. I eat two pieces. I get fat. Good. And I like some sucks for real. Yeah. YouTube while Halloween socks. You lucky I ran out of gas. If I run out of gas, I swear to God the SRTA to open up on Y. >> The suspect was booked for kidnapping, [music] fleeing, attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless driving, burglary, obstruction of law enforcement, and driving with a suspended license. On November 18th, 2023, De Moine police officers were dispatched to a residence following a call from a mother screaming that someone had snatched her daughter off the sidewalk in broad daylight. >> Hey, what's going on, guys? >> I don't know. I'm the neighbor and they were in my backyard. >> She's back here. there. >> My kids were outside playing and she snatched my daughter in the pink and just took off running with her and the kids ran in the house saying this lady snatched our daughter. SO I TOOK OFF RUNNING after her. >> Okay. >> There she is over there taking all her clothes and stuff out. >> Okay. And you you've never seen her before? >> Never seen her. >> Okay. Hey ma'am, what's going on today? >> The closer the officer got to the suspect, Lois, the sooner it became clear that she was under the influence of something. In fact, she flat out told the officer that she thought she had been doing. Thankfully, she didn't try to resist arrest, making the officer's job easy for a change. >> Okay. >> Why can't I just be out here playing [music] with leaves and stuff? It's a nice day. I >> I praise God. >> Yeah. Do you have any weapons on you, ma'am? Just stay right there for me. You don't have any weapons? No. No weapons? Okay. I'm gonna have you just come close to me real quick. I'm going to put you in touch for now. You're not under arrest. You're just being detained while I figure out what's going on. Okay. >> Carl, I told you 3:25. I have one detained. I have one detained while I can figure out what's going on. What's that? >> I need allergic to dust. I need >> You're allergic to dust? >> Yes. >> Okay. Well, here's what we're going to do. I'm going to have you come over and we're going to sit in the back of my car, okay? Um just just to figure out what's wrong. Okay. >> She You don't have any kids right now? >> While Lois continued to mutter absolute nonsense to herself, the officer escorted her to his police cruiser and placed her in the back. To get a better understanding of what was going on, he needed to hear her side of the story. >> So, she's saying that you tried to grab one of her kids and walk away with them. Can you explain that for me? >> Which one? >> I don't know. >> Well, doesn't she look old as hell? >> Have you done any drugs today, man? >> To be honest, I do smoke and I don't care. >> Mhm. >> I do. Uh, sorry. I go to Denver with my sister lives there. My brother lives there. All of my siblings. There's three of us that live here. Don >> his son's [music] he >> Yeah, he does. I do love white people, but my kids are half white. And I missed my son's game today cuz I'm sitting here dealing with people thinking somebody's after the kid. I got three kids of my own. Who the somebody molest somebody out here? >> Copy. Thank you. >> Looking out for me. We're just now getting cameras. I didn't know it was a spot out here. And who the Dude, I lived here. I My dad will even tell you I was brought here from a baby. From Mercy from here. This is a home I've always known. [music] >> Yeah. >> We didn't have kids here growing up. Literally, we were the only family besides Dawn. His kids were like, >> "Where do you live?" 10 years old. I don't know. >> Yeah. Well, so what brings you over here? >> My dad. >> Lois was evading the question. The officers wanted to know why she grabbed another woman's child and ran off, but she wasn't budging. To get another perspective of the situation, the officer turned his attention to the mother of the child. >> You're having a fun day? >> I just let him go outside. >> The kids, >> man, they were playing right there. And then the oldest two ran back in the house and said, "This lady just snatched Jada." I'm like, "What?" So I just jump up and I run to the door and I'm like, "She's running with her and I'm yelling at her. GIVE ME MY DAUGHTER. What are you doing?" >> Yeah. Which one did she snatch? >> The one in the pink. >> Are you okay? You hurt or anything? >> Just shut up. >> You don't mind if I talk to her? >> Yeah, go ahead. >> Okay. I can talk to her from here right by you. >> Oh, okay. >> But you don't you're not hurt or anything? No. Okay, good. She grabbed you, huh? It's crazy. What was she saying to you when she grabbed you? >> She was talking to >> She on the phone or something? >> She was? No, she was talking to herself. >> Yeah, >> she was. Are you What are you wanting done, ma'am? >> I don't even know. >> I have no clue because >> she wouldn't give her back when she seen me and she just kept running. >> Get her back. >> I I I chased her up here. I ran up here. I kept up with her and f and finally she broke loose from her and ran through the yard. She got loose from herself [music] because I couldn't catch up with her. >> You broke loose from her. >> Good job. >> Both the mother and a neighbor who witnessed the entire altercation said they had never seen the suspect before. While the officers debated what to charge [music] the suspect with, they realized they needed more information to ensure they had the whole story. >> Ma'am, where was the kid at when she got grabbed? >> Right there. On the ground. >> Oh, all the way down there. >> Yeah. So she was bringing her back up to her house. So about 1, two, three, four, five houses [music] to the north. Yep. Back. She looked like she was heading back to her own house. >> So what we're doing, just so you don't think we're wasting time or anything, we I called a friend and I called our sergeant. We got to try and figure >> Yeah. So because it's a rare thing, um we're trying to figure out what charge this is cuz we don't want to just be like, "Well, there's no crime committed. Go ahead, cuz this is serious." You know, if somebody snatched up my kid, I'd be insane. Like what? >> I mean, I couldn't think like how I'm feeling. I'm there. I'm [music] >> I can't run and catch her and I'm looking dead at her, pulling her instead of telling her that's my daughter. Let her go. What are you doing? She just >> So, we're going to There'll be something here. While we're waiting, we'll get your information. Okay. [music] >> To bolster their case, the officers took a formal statement from the mother and the neighbor who witnessed the altercation. Once they had enough information, they prepared to transport their suspect to jail. So, for now, you're going to be under arrest for child stealing. Okay. >> You're going to be placed under arrest for child stealing. >> Hello, Lois. You want to go and step out for me, please? >> All right. Let me out. I just want to me. [music] >> Come on. >> Okay. All right. Go and walk back here [music] with us. So then you're gonna get in the back here. >> Give you the big compartment. >> Oh, it's scared in there. >> Hey, we're giving you the big one. There's a smaller one and we don't want to we don't want to put you in the smaller one. We want to give you the big one and have room. >> Okay, I'm going to pass in there. I'm pass up. Okay. Okay. >> Watch your head though, please. I don't want you to hit it. >> My nose edges. Yes, it is. >> I told you I don't do math. Yummy. Lois was taken to the Pulk County Jail where she was charged with child stealing. On September 29th, 2021, police officers with the Whiteall Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. However, the situation took a drastic turn when officers learned what was in the back seat of the vehicle. >> What kind of car is it? >> It's a 2017 Nissan Centro. He spent that way. They got tip tags on them and they're expired. >> 2017 Nissan Tentra Gray. Yeah. Direction on travelers this morning. It's going to be a 2017 Nissan. [crying] He got my baby. He got my baby. >> How's the baby? >> She's >> Yes, you heard that right. Some thug had stolen the woman's vehicle with her one-year-old baby in the back seat. Thankfully, with a description of the suspect in vehicle, the officers soon had the [music] suspect in their sights. >> He's black. He got long dress and he had a black cap on his head. >> Okay. >> He accident he had on a V America t-shirt. >> Suspect's a black man with long dreads. >> I might have him on South Road. He is speeding up on me. where you on your >> most disturbing [music] part of the story was that the mother literally fought with the suspect, screaming that her baby was in the back seat. And while that would deter most car thieves, the lowife stole her vehicle anyway. 105 m and beach and beach. >> Hold on a second. >> Come on, Zara. SAD. POLICE. KINA, COME HERE. SIR, >> I'm sorry. >> Did somebody just run in there? >> No, that's why I just I I have my gun behind my back. >> Okay. That's fine. There's a male black with threads. He had a toboggan. Dark clothes. Here. I lost him behind these houses right here. So, he could have continued south or west. >> The suspect was lucky that the baby wasn't harmed when he was struck at the intersection. The officers informed the mother of both the good and the [music] bad news. Thankfully, her daughter was safe. However, the vehicle had been totaled. But you could tell the vehicle was the last thing on her mind. Yeah. >> Huh? >> Yeah. >> I'm just glad we were right there. >> We were not getting any info out on out of her as soon as >> Yeah. >> be upset, too. >> Yeah. >> I told you I had >> I don't have anything. We literally loaded her in this car and it started >> info. Mom's info pulled up in the cruiser. I wasn't smart enough. I wasn't smart enough. >> It's hard to hurt. >> No, I know. >> They're going 60 though. >> Paramedics attended to the mother when she fought with the suspect earlier while he was attempting to drive off. She twisted her ankle. >> When he jumped in my car and he tried to pull off, I opened my door and I grabbed him and I tried to tug him and he held me up and pushed the door back and I slipped and fell like this holding on to the door. My foot. Listen, your your child was in a car accident at about 60 miles an hour. I I fully trust them, but as a parent, my kid would be going to children's. >> Okay, we all just go tell them I changed my mind. I want us all to go. >> Eventually, paramedics gave the mother and her child the all clear and sent them on their way to put the incident behind them. And although the suspect was never found, nine months later, a man walked into the police station and said he wanted to make a [music] confession. >> Hello, sir. >> Hey, how's it going? >> Pretty good. So, what do you what do you got going on? >> Um, uh, back in Thanksgiving, my mom gave me a call, but I didn't get it until like late January. >> Mhm. >> But basically, I got into some troubles. I did stupid stuff, you feel me? and she I was told that I had warmed him up for me and I was in Indianapolis so I came back here. >> The officer cuffed the suspect, Isaiah Jackson, and took him into custody. He was honest and forthcoming and told the officer that he had been suffering from depression and fits of rage. He said that he stole the car as a means to get back and forth to work. >> You get in the car, do you remember what kind of car it was? >> Uh, I remember the car had 10 windows, which in my mind was perfect. So that's basically >> can't see. Right. >> Yeah. Nobody can see yet. Just like I said, I couldn't see the inside of the car. Okay. >> But when the lady opened the door, there was nobody in the driver's seat and I didn't see anybody in the back seat cuz windows was up. So I assume she just left it on and running. I was like, >> the only thing going to my mind was being homeless again was going back to them cold nights on the street. You feel me? That's the only thing I was thinking about. >> Isaiah said that he didn't realize there was a child in the back seat until the police began pursuing him, causing him to look into the rear view mirror and notice the baby in the child's seat. But that was hard to believe considering the mother had literally fought with him screaming about her child in the back seat. So you just trying to get this cleared out so you can hopefully get back to making money. >> Well, yeah, basically. But at the same time, get mental health, too. >> Fair. Fair. >> Cuz that's basically something going on. >> That's basically what's got me in this truck. >> Cuz it's always on the back of your mind. You're like, damn, I got it. >> Yeah. Worried about once you once you become homeless at a young age, your your thought process is never filled out again. No matter what anybody tells you, unless they've been homeless theirel, your thought process is to never feel that again under any circumstance. Especially when you got parents that don't help you, your outlook is to never feel that again. >> I know how that feels. I don't ever want to. >> I don't want you to. I don't want any little kid to have to feel that. Young, old, anything. It's not a good experience. It's not fun. >> Okay. Isaiah was charged with felony counts of kidnapping and theft along with two counts of failing to comply with an officer and one count of obstructing official business. He pleaded guilty to the kidnapping and theft charges in exchange for the prosecutor dropping the remaining charges. He was sentenced to 4 and 1/2 years in prison for kidnapping and 6 months for stealing the car with sentences to be served consecutively. He was also ordered to pay $9,000 in restitution to the victim. After serving two years, Jackson applied for judicial release, but his request was denied due to 19 incidents of misconduct and 22 infractions during his incarceration. He is currently serving his sentence at the London Correctional Institution and is scheduled for release in the fall of 2026. When a child is kidnapped, every second counts. It's rescue first, ask questions later. And thanks to the heroic actions of police officers, many families are given a second chance when good cops stop babies from being kidnapped just in time.
