On July 8th, 2024, what was meant to be a dream vacation aboard the Margaritaville Cruise Line quickly turned into a nightmare for one couple. >> So, what's going on? What's the story? >> Uh, he's a little jealous. >> He has an alcohol problem yesterday. Uh, you know, he had the cruise alcohol package. Said he would be able to manage it cuz we had to bring the children on the trip. Uh, he was drinking all day. Um 10:00 when the kids fell asleep. Around 10:30 I went downstairs. I just went to the hot hot club to listen to some music, you know, mingle with some people. I missed all the activities cuz I was sleeping. Um I get downstairs, he sees me down there. He just sees people. I I He was under there before. He believes I was talking to a man. the women, the two women overtook nothing like men, but that's what he assumed. He was upset. Then he came back. I don't know how long. I wasn't keeping track of the time. I didn't have a phone. >> Sure. >> You're on vacation. >> Yeah. [laughter] >> Gotcha. >> He comes back. You're a [ __ ] You're this. >> Okay. >> He sits outside the club. I go upstairs. As soon as I go out, he goes in maybe 15, 20 minutes. I take a shower. go to bed. She was sleeping. She can tell you. And >> uh I woke up because the boat was shaking and then I saw I saw dad daddy um spit on mommy and and throw his lighter at her in her face. And then I went into the into their bed because I couldn't I couldn't stop looking at the out the window where I was sleeping. And then what he did is just basically bring his arm out and slap her on the back of on her back. >> I don't want him arrested. But >> did you smack you in the back? >> She don't know. when he hit me in my face and he [snorts] doesn't realize that it hurts. >> She's witness to this. >> So, are y'all still married or >> We will never be married cuz it's always been this. >> Okay. [snorts] >> But he's he's their father. >> Okay. >> My [snorts] son My son asked me to continue working it out. I asked him on Easter Sunday to stop drinking to stop. I can't take him anymore. [snorts] [laughter] It's my kids watching it. It hurts me the most. I don't want him to get arrested. It'll be a whole big thing. >> What' you do? >> He's a sanitation worker, but she just He doesn't have the money for bail. He doesn't have anything. It's just he just needs to stop drinking. He doesn't realize the effect it has on the children. He does not He's not understanding what I'm saying. I have hope. There are better days. The kids tomorrow stay together. But I can't keep going through it. This wasn't even >> Have you been arrested before for this? >> A lot of school bar9 happened. It was all over the news. I don't want to picked up what happened. >> Thank you. >> It was on the news. >> It's like he I know he had beer. What did you think it was? Did you think it was bear or water? It was it was weird because he never goes only cuz every time he drinks water or they give him water, they don't put any lime in it. But when they give him alcohol, they put a lime in it. >> So she >> and so I >> But he said he told everybody it's water. I know what I know. I didn't see what it was. I just knew a liquid hit me and I came running downstairs. Enough is enough. The kids are watching. I don't want it to happen again. I don't want it to ever be something that we are supposed to be at peace. We can't find it anywhere. We can't find it at home. We can't find it on vacation. We're trying. But I don't want to arrest him. I just don't I don't know what your policies are. Like I said, I I know he was under the influence. I asked her. I didn't say anything. I just rolled over. I went to sleep. But what happens if it happens again and again and again for five nights? We're all in one quarters. It's not like we from here. You go to a foreign country. >> Yeah. And that's why I say it has to stop. But I don't want to I don't know what to do at this point. And I know sometimes things are out of my hands, but I I really look at it and I go, I do without the alcohol. He's a different person. He is a different person without the alcohol. Once alcohol gets involved in >> he can't handle it. You can tell him that it wasn't me who told you anything. You can tell him it's his daughter. >> Where is he right now? >> I have no clue. >> Oh, they went to the cabin. I actually called him just before you guys. I told him to stay there, but now security is there and he's not in the cabin. So, they're going to make an announcement. He's blocked on the system. He cannot leave. >> Okay. >> So, we'll make an announcement just to get him to the guest services. >> What's going on, man? >> Not much. >> Why are we here? Uh, last night I went to the bar to get a drink. I didn't even know my kid mother had left the room. I [snorts] left the kids in the room. I went and got a drink. When I was turned around, she comes over to me. She said, "You looking for me?" Told her, "I didn't even know you left the room cuz I was up on the smoking deck on uh 10." Left out of there. She was uh talking to a dude. I said, "Go ahead, go back and do what you was doing cuz I'm about to go do the same thing." Went back upstairs to deck 10, drank my Corona. Uh stayed there for a while. left there, came back uh to the room. She wasn't in there. Went to sleep, woke up this morning, she's uh talking about something and she started yelling. So, I guess, you know, laying down. I was tired. I was ignoring her. She hit me on the back of the leg. She knows I had knee surgery and that uh I had problems with my knee at times. She hits me in the back of the leg. I leaned over, grabbed the water, slung the water at her, didn't throw the cup. The cup was still in my hand. Slung the water at her. She came out of there, then came down here and did what she did. What were you guys arguing about before she said >> this morning? I don't you I can't I can't even tell you what she was talking about. >> She had a drink last night. >> By the way, before I ask you a lot, >> huh? >> Do you have a lot? >> I I drink Coronas all day long. So, you know, not a lot at all. I had one Long Island iced tea, maybe throughout the course of the day, six Coronas. That's nothing. I normally bust down a 12-pack within 3 hours by myself. So, it's not like I was drunk or anything. You know, she was doing something that pro that really wasn't cool. But, hey, listen, do what you do because I have no problem doing what I do. She uh was mad that um you know, I said something about it in front of the kids or whatever. I said, "Yo, you was down there talking, you know, these are my exact words. You was down there gagging with some [ __ ] Don't sit there, you know, say nothing to me about anything. You going to do what you want to do. Just understand when we go back home, it's the same thing. you know, when we go back home, don't think that just because we're back home over house again, I'm going to be doing whatever I want to do, and that's just life. She hit me on the back of the leg. I grabbed the drink uh the whatever was my my water, slung the water on her, she got up, she walked out of there. Then maybe 15, 20 minutes later, he comes knocking on the door and we come down here and talk. And I tell him, listen, you know, that's that's all it was. She he said that she said I hit her. She has sensitive skin. If I go to her right now and pluck her, she'll have a mark. You understand? He says I She said to him, "I smacked her." Never touched her. You got cameras all over this, bro. Look on the cameras. Never touched her. I literally brushed her off. >> You didn't touch her back last night? >> Say again. >> You didn't hit her in the back or anything last night? >> Did not touch her at all. >> Spit her face. >> No. No. Definitely didn't spit on her cuz that's her thing. She likes to spit in my face. I didn't spit on her. I didn't put my hands on her or anything. The only thing I did was slung the water on her this morning. >> What's going to happen to him? >> Well, we got to speak to him first. But at the very least, I got to write a report. >> I just just let him know that if if Listen, I don't want him arrested. That's not my intention. It's just to to have a peaceful day and help us figure out what to do next. It It's not healthy for these kids that are growing up witnessing this. I want better for both my children. It's not fair. >> If they let me go tomorrow, whatever, without a crazy bail, then I'll [clears throat] just probably book a flight and go right back home and clean out myself before they get back from >> if they want to go do their excursion. I think we're good with that. >> Yeah, we're good with that. >> Yeah, let them go. That's going to let them do the last. >> Yeah. Thank you guys so much. That way the kids don't [laughter] line. >> Can I give you some advice? That's my mom. You get home. Like I said, be cordial. You got to give yourself water, man. Run an engine. I can I can I can tell you right now, she's done worse than this. She's had you on the news before. You know what I'm saying? When I explained to I said, you know, if I go wrong go to jail for this, you're going to have problem that that didn't happen. When the police chat is going to leave my house, you'll be seen tonight at lunch. >> Well, I mean, let this be a learned lesson. Move forward from here and just I'm done with it. Just be be a father and that's it. >> At the end of the day, should a father really abandon his family just because he can't control his drinking? Alcohol might explain his behavior, but does it excuse it? When you threaten to leave your wife and kids over a few drinks, maybe the problem isn't them. Maybe it's you.
