What did you just do? >> Huh? >> Check his back and his waistband. >> If you just put something in him, he's going to be taken away from you. Did you or did you not? >> No. >> You didn't put anything in his pants. >> This coin purse. Honey, I got to get this out. Okay. >> Get the out of the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get out of the car. It's got to BE Get on the ground. Shame on you. >> Hold up. Hey, ma'am. >> Shame on you. >> Don't snatch for me. Okay. >> Shame on you for trying TO SAY THAT WILL HURT MY CHILDREN. >> STOP. LISTEN. >> When a policeman rescues a child, it's one of the most heartwarming moments you'll ever see. But when the rescue involves taking kids away from an entitled mother with zero sense of responsibility, things get a little more complicated. The moms in today's video shouldn't be trusted with a goldfish, let alone a child. And it's easy to see why. >> Oh my god. My god. My phone. >> No. No. No. You cannot kick my baby. >> You are. You are not because you're telling me. When an alcoholic refuses to acknowledge they have an addiction problem, things can easily spiral out of control. One family learned that the hard way on April 20th, 2024. They had organized an intervention to help Olivia, a mother of a 2-year-old. However, things quickly escalated and the police were called in. >> She's right here. >> What's going on with you and your >> Nothing. >> Okay. Do you want to want to stop and talk to us? Come on. Ma'am, I'm trying to talk to you. >> I know. What do What is it that you need? >> Okay, your mom called us. >> I don't know why she kicked me out the car. >> What happened before we got here? >> Uh, nothing. She was harassing me. Call my little daughter a little [ __ ] and I got out the car cuz I cannot stand still. >> Can you Can you stand still? >> Yeah. I mean, I have a a kid with me. How would I stand still? >> Okay. >> What the >> What happened? >> Nothing. >> Why would you call 911? I'm going to put her sweater on. >> Do you mind? >> We're trying to talk to you. We're trying to >> What is it that you need? >> What do you mean? You're obviously not. >> You're telling I'm the case. >> STOP RAISING YOUR VOICE. >> AND I'M NOT RAISING MY VOICE UNLESS you are. >> It's not funny. Talk to my little and I need to leave the car because I don't understand that. >> After a heated argument with her family, Olivia allegedly struck her 14-year-old niece in the face before storming off. The assault could potentially land her in jail. When the officers confronted her about the incident, she immediately switched the narrative as if she were the victim. But the officer had no tolerance for her arrogant behavior. >> My daughter does not need to be talked like that. There's nothing other than water and water in here. So, you can check that. >> Hold up. >> I don't need to hold up cuz I'm not arrested. I know my >> No, no, no. You don't know that cuz you also She also said, "Okay, stop." She also said what? Something like 14year-old. >> Do not grab me when I have my daughter. >> Well, then don't walk away. >> I'm not. >> But don't touch me. Don't touch me. >> Don't move. >> And you have a camera on you. >> Don't touch me. >> Then don't try walking away. >> I AM NOT. I'M TALKING TO you >> before we lock you up and take your daughter away. So you need to take my daughter away. >> Stop. Just Just stop. Listen. >> Maybe the bearded officer just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. or maybe he just wasn't in the mood for entitled Karens. Either way, his patience wore thin fast. Luckily, his partner was there to step in and try to deescalate the situation. >> Where did it start today? What happened there? >> We were at Enchanted Castle. Okay. >> And she never wants to spend money on us. And >> so you were at Enchanted Castle. What? What happened from there? >> Are you serious? >> What What happened from there? >> She caught my little daughter a That's not acceptable in any parent term. She's She's saying you punch your brother or whoever's in the presence. >> Nobody. Okay. >> I didn't punch anybody. She wants to take my brother because she's white >> and she just wants her and I just wanted to be left alone. So, I left the car and I have my Uber picking me up right now. That's not even fair. She just wants me to fail in life. It's not fair. >> All right. What I want to know right now, are you in the state to take care of your your daughter? >> Yes, I got her bottle and everything. Officer, please. Please. >> Have you had any alcoholic beverage today or anything? No, you can check the dis. You can check it right now. Check it, please. Please. >> Where are you going? Where are you going to go, though? Where? >> I have the Uber setting me up right now. >> And like I said, I'm just tired of everyone just picking at me. Officer, please. I don't even know your name. >> Olivia continued sobbing, clearly trying to elicit an emotional response from the officer, but there were no real tears, just a performance that didn't quite work. And soon it became clear why. It seems that her in-laws wanted to take custody of her child. >> This is the last time they tried to take my daughter from me. I can't believe she said that. >> Okay. >> I was just leaving in peace. I don't know what she's always trying to take my kids. >> What's your address? >> I don't have one. >> You don't have an address? Are you homeless? >> Yes. That's why that's why they're trying to take him. Please don't take her. >> All right. All right. Hold on. >> Oh, please. >> Stay right here. >> No. >> Do you have anybody else that can come? You are >> I have my girlfriend coming to come whether they're mad because I'm gay as well. Yes. >> Okay. Are they coming with you? >> Yes. Yes. I can I can show you. I can show you on this phone. Please. I can show you. >> All right. Just hang on tight. You don't don't go anywhere. Okay. >> I don't know why she's doing this, but I really want to punch her in the chase. >> All right. Just that's not a good idea. >> No, it's not. Just like she's doing this on purpose. >> All right. Just hang out right here. Okay. >> The officer most likely saw the red flags while talking to Olivia. However, at that point, there wasn't enough proof to justify an arrest or even a call to social services. But that all changed the moment Olivia's sister showed up. >> Olivia was uh in there uh grabbing liquor. Uh she walked in front of a car with I don't need to explain all this to you. Um they're going to take the baby away if you don't come and get >> She's like she's drunk out of her mind. She walked in front of a car with a in front of a car so a car could run over. >> She's nuts. You you you got to take the baby before the state takes the baby away from so she's going to get arrested right now, >> man. Stop. All right. >> Get the get give me that. >> No. >> Oh my god. My god. My phone. >> Give me the no. >> You cannot kick my baby. >> You are You are Let go of her. >> No. >> Leave her alone. Leave her behind. WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU? PUT YOUR HANDS WRONG WITH YOU. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> As the officer interviewed her sister, Olivia's instincts kicked in and she decided to run. But instead of running down the street, she made a reckless move and started walking along the train tracks, holding her 2-year-old baby in her arms. It was a very dangerous situation, so the officers had to act fast. >> Put your hands behind your head. >> Stop. You scared my child. >> You're not. >> You have it on camera. >> You are not the camera. >> Because you're telling me. >> Because you're telling me. >> Put your hands. >> PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK. >> YOU hitting me. >> Look at you hitting me with my daughter. >> Put your hands behind your back. >> Right here. >> Put them behind your back. >> And what happened? >> You're getting my daughter. >> I got it. >> Just Just let go. scared of you. >> Now you're Now you're under arrest. You're You're >> for child endangerment. You're You're running on a train track with a kid. >> Running on the train. My phone fell. >> Jesus Christ. >> My phone fell. You id. It fell on the >> Now you're under arrest. >> You let that >> You think it's safe walking? >> No. Can you tell me the phone fell? >> Olivia started wincing and solving again, but this time no one was buying it. Her actions made it clear she wasn't in a state to make rational decisions. Maybe if she were sober, she could have been a good mother. But alcohol has a cruel way of spoiling even the best of plans. >> And you're obviously under the influence of alcohol. >> I'm not. I'M NOT. MY PHONE FELL. >> I can smell it on your breath. So you're not in any state to make any smart decision. It's okay. I'll get her back. That's my daughter. I love >> I'm hoping weapons. You guys like I have something going. I can't not not have this on me. Look. >> Well, get it off. >> I'm going to get it off right now. Sit down. Uh, one female in custody and we're good here. >> Olivia was taken to jail and by the time she got there, she calmed down and was relatively cooperative. >> They just lock you up for no reason. >> Relax. Okay. What is your first name? What's your name, young lady? >> Olivia Agelar. I'm pretty sure they should have told you that before I came in here. >> First of all, don't talk to me like that right now. I'm not talking. I'm answering your question. My name's Olivia Agalar. They should have told you that before I came in here, >> young lady. Nobody's told me anything about you yet. Okay. >> Now, >> thanks. >> Turn around. Face me, young lady. >> Yeah, I'm sure I need to hide myself. >> What's your current address? >> Don't have one. >> What is your last known address? >> Don't have one. >> What is your name? >> I justing told you my name. Good enough. >> How is that? My name's Patricia. >> Good enough. >> Great. I'm glad we have this conversation. >> Young lady, you could be going home in about 20 minutes. >> I am going home in 20 minutes. It's a ridiculous asking me questions that you know. >> I am waiting for a lawsuit. I am so waiting for that. >> I'm so waiting for it. >> You can get in line with it. >> Good. And I will. >> By the end of the night, Olivia wasn't just facing one charge. She was hit with a whole list. In addition to multiple counts of child endangerment, she was charged with disorderly conduct, fleeing from an officer, obstructing justice, and domestic assault of a minor. On October 9th, 2024, officers in Greenfield, Wisconsin, a Flock camera caught a stolen 2011 Maroon Nissan Ultima. Within moments, two nearby patrol units moved in on the location. Is there a baby? >> Is there a baby in the car right now? [screaming] [screaming] We are confirm there are no more babies in the car. Come here. Stop. >> Turn up. Put your hands behind your back right now. >> Now I have to point him in that clean slate. >> Put your hands behind your back. Put your baby down. >> Kenny, they trying to take me to >> Put your baby down. Put your baby down. Hands behind your back. >> The female was identified as 23-year-old Diamond Riley and her passenger as 25-year-old Quinn Daryl Gurley Jr. Both of them had substantial criminal records. But Quinn Daryl also had three active warrants for his arrest for drug offenses, resisting arrest, and fleeing from law enforcement. While Diamond was being handcuffed, the chase was on for her friend. [screaming] >> He's gone. >> Hey, you can make a phone call. Okay, give me that car. >> No, cuz I don't even know what the I did. Look at M. She autistic. I was coming to my appointment right there. [screaming] >> Why the he had me draw that car? What's wrong with that car? >> Relax. Relax. Okay. >> Can you tell me what's wrong with the car? >> What's your daughter's name? >> She She's nonverbal. >> Okay. I'm a father. I don't mind. Excuse me. >> Oh, are you okay? >> Why are you not answering me? >> Oh, it's okay. >> While Quanderl was doing his best to flee the cops, this officer tried to get more information from Diamond. She denied even knowing the suspect and claimed they had just met. Supposedly, she asked him to give her a ride to get some medication. >> Are there any weapons in the car? >> I don't even know him. >> Are there any weapons in the car? >> I don't know, sir. I swear to God on my child, he literally just I met him on Facebook. I asked him for a ride to take me to my appointment. He asked me, "Do I have my license?" I said, "Yes, I have my license." He said, "Okay, well, can you drive?" >> This is my whole daughter. >> Okay, I understand that. >> Well, as you can hear, the car is stolen. >> It's stolen? >> Yeah. >> Oh my god. Yep. We got out of jail. >> What are you in jail for? >> Just obstructing the officer. >> You almost wanted to obstruct me. >> I did not. I just was confused on what was going on. >> Quindaryl knew he was going to jail if he got caught. With nothing to lose, he moved to the driver's seat, put the pedal to the metal, and took the cops on a wild chase through the city streets. At times, he was hitting 70 in a 35 mph zone. Even after losing a tire, he kept going, but it soon all came to a screeching halt. >> All right, it's slowing down. lost a tire. It's going to lose control here. There's no traffic speeds dropping down. We're >> entering the point of curve. >> We're still northbound approaching power here. >> Front passenger tire. Press crash. >> We need hold. DON'T MOVE. HANDS UP. HANDS OFF. YOU SWEAR TO GOD. DON'T MOVE. Put your hand out the wheel right now. >> Start medical for the driver. [screaming] >> All right, let's focus on stopping traffic, getting it off on hold. >> Quarrel tried to merge onto a highway doing 80 mph. He lost control and rear ended another vehicle with children inside. The suspect appeared to be dazed but unharmed. As for the family he struck, the driver was going in and out of consciousness while her nieces cried in the back seat. >> You guys work on the kids. I'll work on her. Okay. >> Okay. All right. Sora, look at me. You're going to stay here. Okay. >> You guys, you speak English. >> Okay. No, they don't speak Spanish. Definitely not Spanish. >> Okay, I got her. Okay. You privatize the backseat of one of these cars going in and out of consciousness. >> [ __ ] You said there were no babies in that car. >> It's not. >> There's no more kids in your car. >> That's not my car. >> In the in the car? >> I just got out of nowhere. It's not supposed to be. >> Okay. All right. So then maybe they crashed into another car with a kid. cleaning over >> lady. >> Driver's alert and breathing. >> All right. I'm going to >> I'm going to close the door. >> I'm going to roll the window down. Okay. Is she doing okay? She's sleeping. Okay. >> All right. I'm closing the door. I'm going to roll the window down. Okay. >> Just stay here. Okay. Stay here. Don't move. Stay here. Okay. We're we're taking care of your girls. They're going to be okay. >> Officers at the scene of the crash had to work fast. The family was in dire need of medical assistance and the debris needed to be quickly removed so further accidents could be avoided. >> Doesn't look bad. I mean, >> okay. >> Lost the hub cap there. >> Oh boy. >> Is this fresh or >> Okay. [laughter] >> Hub cap. This and this. >> Everybody back there. Okay. >> I believe so. I'm just writing down your plate. They're talking to us. They're definitely hurting. I mean, they got hit real hard, so >> Oh, yeah. He jacked real bad. Yeah. >> But, you know, obviously it's probably uh >> It's a stolen car. >> Stolen car. >> Yeah. >> All right. So, I'm going to take you back to the Greenfield Police Department and then um this detective might have a car seat. Hello. >> Hey, what's up? >> Not much. Do you have a car seat? >> No. >> Can you turn the baby over to somebody else? >> We're asking you if you have anybody else so you can come and get the baby. Apart from the strong odor of marijuana, the officers also found multiple flip phones in the stolen Nissan, another 9mm magazine, additional ammunition, bags of pills, and drug paraphernalia. Surprisingly, no firearm was found. >> Sorry, I was trying to get you to pit him back on the curb because there was no traffic at that point. >> That made sense, but I just didn't I didn't catch that. So, I'm sorry. >> And you think this dude's going to go get transported? Oh, he's going to have to. >> He's going to need a bed clearance for jail at least at a minimum. I think he may have to pass, but nothing significant like a gun. >> I say he had a he had a a wheat bag that was open. >> You guys are good. >> You guys good? You guys have calling it out. Way to work it out. >> Yeah. I can't call out with dog. >> Would you release your medical records to our police department? >> What What happened? Was it a high-speed chase? >> Yes. >> Luckily, your damage isn't horrible. >> At least I can drive away. >> And it's in a work car. He's just going to take some photos for his boss of the bad guy car. If you give me your phone, I can take them of that other car. So that way you're not walking. Just that. Okay. If you want to just wait right there. I'll be right back. >> Craig, here's your phone back. Other than that, you're good to get out of here. Just safely get on the road. >> Oh, yeah. Sure. Yep. Get What are you doing, Craig? >> Here's the nice cop. >> So, yep. Just be careful. Yep. I'm glad you're okay. >> Diamond was eventually transported to jail and interviewed by detectives. She again claimed she had no idea who Quinn Daryl was. >> What was the guy's name that was in the car? >> I don't know his name. I know a nickname. Man. >> What's his nickname? Man, >> man. Yeah. >> How long have you been dating him? You're not dating him? >> My cousin knows his name. He >> Man. >> Yeah, that's his uh He never told me his street name. I just met him. So, he told me to drive and I start driving. >> Do you know what his actual legal name is? >> I don't want them to call me no snitch, though, cuz I'm going to have to deal with that when I go home. What are you like what are you snitching about? >> I'm telling him his name like the other I don't give a about him because he put me in a position. >> I should have never did it, but I was so eager to go get the medication that I didn't even like ask no extra questions or nothing. >> You texted or call your cousin? >> I called. >> Do you want to show us on the phone? Do you mind if I look at the call log here? Here. Put it down so I can see it. >> But I don't want y'all calling his number. >> I'm not going to call. I'm not going to call. >> No, for real, y'all. Cuz I don't want to be involved with that. >> Can I look at your messages? Go ahead. >> Okay. You do not though. >> Yeah. >> Believe me, I'm not I don't want to look at any notes. >> Diamond was adamant that she hadn't stolen the car. And on the surface, her story almost sounded believable. The problem was that she deliberately stepped in front of not one but two police vehicles in an attempt to block them from chasing the stolen vehicle. >> Why did you walk in front of my squad car? >> Cuz I'm like, what the [ __ ] is going on? >> Why were you in front of my bumper? I ran in. I didn't mean to just literally run in front of your bumper. >> Were you trying to block me? >> No, that was not intentional. Like, >> what did he say when the police were behind? >> Act like nothing for real. I wouldn't put my daughter in that, bro. I just really needed my medicine. >> Do you sell your Suboxone sometimes? I saw some messages that you were selling the suboxone like the strips. >> I'm not answering that cuz that doesn't have to do with anything right now. >> Okay. Despite Diamond's claim she didn't know Quinn Daryl, after being placed in the same room, it became quite clear they were romantically involved. Both got charged with secondderee recklessly endangering safety. He was additionally charged with fleeing eluding an officer causing injury and Diamond with neglecting a child and resisting an officer. Both got cash bonds. Hers was only $3,500 while he had to come up with $50,000 in order to walk free. On August 20th, 2023, two women decided to take their kids to work. The problem was that they were full-time criminals and their MMO was to steal clothing and baby items from Walmart. >> Hello. Hello. Hi, ladies. How we doing? How you doing? >> Oh, wait, wait a second. >> No, >> cuz we're on video. >> I know. I know. I know. >> So, I'm just trying to get this. >> Okay. >> Don't do that. Our barcodes don't match. Our barcodes do not match. I just got those from CVS. That's mask too. I don't even got to laugh about that. Y'all get this back though. I'm just saying his mask. Don't do that. I just bought >> All right. This is not a mask. >> And my and my spoon. >> This This is our merch. >> No, that is not child. Y'all sell the same thing as CVS. >> We don't our barcode. >> If that's the case, I would have been taking the tags off the same without I would have opened that. >> Look, ma'am, >> I bar. >> Okay, keep the little spoon cuz that's just >> the woman on the right was very confrontational and even got into an argument with theft prevention agents. She claimed that most of the items were from a different store. The officer, on the other hand, was as calm as a Zen Buddhist and did his best to deescalate the situation. >> How you doing? >> No, they not. >> Yes, they are. >> No, that's not. >> Yes, they is. >> No, they not. No, they not. >> Yes, they not. >> Ma'am, can we just kind of just have a seat? Okay. It's not the end of the world. All right, we'll figure this out. >> I just bought that. >> You get what I'm saying? >> I did. >> All right. What's your name? >> What's your name? >> My name is Officer Gracia. Nice to meet you. >> Okay. What's your name, man? >> Tia. >> Tia. Nice to meet you. What's your name? >> CeCe. >> Cece. Nice to meet you. Okay, now that we're on >> now that we know who we are here. Okay, we're going to try to figure out what happened. All right. You all have any ID? >> No, I ain't got no ID on. >> You have your ID on? No. >> I don't even have ID, actually. >> Okay. How old are we? >> Who? >> Yeah, >> I'm 22. >> 2. >> All right. No big deal. We'll figure it out. Not the end of the world. If playing good cop bad cop is a tactic that works even for crooks, then the girl on the left was definitely the quote unquote good criminal. She stayed calm and cooperative throughout. And her friend, she was determined to argue her way into more trouble. >> Come on, you got to be nicer. You know, >> there's no need for that. >> You guys don't have IDs on you. >> We're all adults here. >> No. One of the first steps that we do is we try to identify who you guys are because you have no ID, right? >> All right, we get that done. Then we move to the next step. All right, we're not trying to make this difficult. All right, we're just trying to get the process going cuz everyone wants to go home. I'm sure I'm sure the kids are going to get antsy, right? We're not trying to make it difficult. It's not the end of the world. What's up, buddy? >> How old? >> Let me guess. >> Eight months. >> Well, since I only had three things, can I just pay for that? I gave it back to him and I didn't need like I didn't struggle or anything. I have money. >> If it was up to me, I can just take the items. I will pay for it for real. >> If it was up to me, I would say yes, please. But it's not up to me. It's a process. Um, they got to do what they got to do. We got to do what we got to do. >> It ain't the end of the world. I promise you that. Have you guys ever been >> arrested for retail theft? >> No. >> No. >> No. The apologetic suspect only wanted to be able to pay for her items and go home. But her friend was much more arrogant. She actually tried to say that the kids were the reason they shouldn't get arrested. That's probably why she brought her kid in the first place. >> Nobody's going to get my son. >> There's That's okay. We We'll handle that. Okay. >> How are you going to handle that? [crying] >> You're not the first person we arrest with young kids. >> Okay. But where is my child going to go? >> These are things as a mother. >> I'm trying to listen to what my Keep in mind, >> I said I'll pay for it. >> Too late. >> So, >> pass that point. You already >> So, is y'all going to arrest somebody? >> We're waiting for uh your history. >> We haven't gotten yours back yet. And we're waiting for the paperwork from Walmart. >> Wait for who history? Both cars. >> Yeah, cuz you're both involved. >> I don't have nobody to get my son. Like, come on out. It's not even that serious. >> It's a theft crime, >> bro. I will pay for it. It's not that serious. >> I'm all the way out here, bro. My son's not going to have nowhere to go. >> Hey, please don't do this. >> The total amount of stolen items turned out to be $84 for the arrogant criminal and $64 for her quiet friend. Not surprisingly, the bad criminal quickly got into a disagreement with the store employee over how this thing was handled. >> I'm doing my job. >> Thank you, sir. >> Now, the consequences solely depend on y'all actions first. If somebody would have walked up to us up in that stove and asked us what we were doing or something, I would have took that stuff out and put that right up. >> Right hand up to God. Yes. >> Because the way you was stuffing it over here, you >> Yeah. But if somebody would have walked up to me and said something, I would have took that stuff out my bag. >> I wouldn't have even walked to the door. >> Let me tell you something, okay? I That all makes sense, right? But their job is not to go walk around and tell people who are doing >> committing shoplifting, hey, why don't you go ahead and take that out of your bag and put it away. Their job is to protect the merchandise from Walmart and as it walks out the door, that's a crime. Their job, >> you didn't make it out the door. >> Part of their job description doesn't say, "Hey, if you see somebody putting their stuff in the bag, >> go over there and tell them to take it out." So, [crying] >> the first set of double doors, when you cross that door, that mean you cross the point of sale. That mean you you walk past every register. You don't have to be outside the building for us to be detained. >> The lady's logic made no sense. She was basically saying the reason why she committed a crime is that no one came to tell her not to do it. From the very start, she rubbed the officers the wrong way. And while her friend might actually be allowed to leave, that's not likely to happen to her. >> Can I tell you something? Nobody set you up for that. All right. You came in here. Somebody could have just told me to take it out. >> I would took it out right there. Like I'm not even understanding. >> If I had somebody on my shoulder telling me every time I was going to do >> y'all I thought y'all was just going to be kind of cool and just Okay, whatever. Get a stuff back and let it go. I would have left. >> We got to do our job. >> Give me your purse. Hold on. >> We're not We're not doing too much. Okay. Hold on. >> Put your keys in your purse. >> My baby is in the car. >> That's fine. We're going to get it. Okay. So we can go get it now as hell. >> Okay, listen. I'm being very nice. I'm going to tell you what. >> You're not being nice. Like, no, you're not. >> You're not. I'm going to go the [ __ ] up. What the You mean somebody's being nice. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, what the I could have done this. >> Okay. Y'all could have did this in the beginning. That's okay. >> Put the keys in the >> Get my baby out the car. >> Relax, bro. >> Relax. We're going to figure it out. We got your keys. If you Y, man. >> You did it to yourself. >> The longer this went on, the more the suspect got worked up. She showed zero responsibility for her actions and kept trying to use her baby as leverage, which further indicated that she intentionally brought her child as some sort of legal shield. >> Okay. And my baby is in my car. >> Okay. We're not worried about that right now. Okay. >> How? How? My baby don't have no milk or nothing. >> Okay, we'll figure it out. How are you going to figure it out if my baby is with her? >> I'm gonna talk to your partner. >> How the is she gonna get it out my car if you have my key? You want us to get rid of who the y permission to be up in my car? And who said I gave her permission to go in my mother car? >> We won't go in your car. >> Simple as that. >> If you hadn't lied about who you were, >> we would have this going to waste my day. This all it's going to do. >> That's cool. Just take you back to my car. >> Yeah. Once it's all said and done, we'll bring you back to your car. >> Well, you're the one rushing. >> There ain't nothing to talk about. >> There's a pro. Okay. >> Relax. >> No. Relax. >> Yep. Yep. Yep. Anything. >> If anything, you're doing too much. >> I ain't doing the most yet. >> We're just trying to get you. That's it. That's it. >> No. Y'all could have been doing this. >> That would have been the end here. Spread your legs for me. On top of retail theft, the obnoxious mom got charged with resisting arrest and obstructing a peace officer. Imagine seeing a toddler barefoot wearing a dirty diaper wandering alone down the street. Concerned citizens witnessed this shocking scene on February 26th, 2025 and immediately called 911. >> Good afternoon. >> Hi. >> Hi. >> Hi. Where'd you find this handsome young man? >> What's your name? >> That he acts like he's a little autistic. >> Yeah, >> I think. >> What's your name? >> Keep an eye on him. >> Hey. Hey. >> New pants time. You never saw this kid before? >> No. >> Somebody give it to me. >> They saw somebody flagged you down to >> Yeah, because the kid is in the street and somebody I'm coming from the war. I'm parking and somebody say, "Do you know the kid?" And I say, "No, because he alone in the street and nobody know and everybody start to come and when I say I call the police, the one I hold him and no, no, no. Okay, I'll give it to you. You call the police. So, not every concerned citizen was willing to call the police, but at least they did the next best thing and alerted someone who was. The officers scoured the area, and it didn't take long to find the boy's mother. But instead of things getting better, the exact opposite happened. >> Is that your mom? [screaming] [crying] >> Is that your mom? Is that mommy? No, >> let's go. Let's get out of [crying] here. >> You ready to get out of here? [screaming] >> Yeah. [laughter] >> Come here. >> You're not in trouble, buddy. >> The boy's reaction to his mother, Marissa, was not at all what you'd expect. She appeared to be intoxicated and not at all worried that her son had gone missing. There was something very wrong here. and the officers decided to get to the bottom of it. >> Where's the father >> working right now? >> Does he live here, too? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. What are you under the influence of? >> Nothing. >> Nothing? >> Yeah. But >> uh listen, I've been doing this for a couple of uh years, and you're definitely under the influence of something. I'm not 100% sure what, but it's more than obvious. What happened to your leg? What? >> Who's watching him right now? If no one's inside. >> No, he literally just went inside right now. He's with me. He's okay. >> Okay. Do you take any medication? >> No. >> Paul, do you have any diagnosis? >> No. >> No. Have a seat here. We're going to talk. >> I would rather be >> Yeah. Well, I I would rather for you to sit here now. Thank you. >> I would rather be in >> That's okay. That's fine. Have a seat. Thank you. I can stand with him. You can leave the door open if you want. >> I don't think you'll understand the seriousness of the situation. >> In all seriousness, she probably doesn't understand where or even who she is. She's barely standing on her own two feet. She can't respond to basic questions. She's definitely not in any condition to take care of a toddler, especially one that has special needs. And the female officers got to that conclusion very quickly. Okay. Um, do you have a cell phone? >> Can you contact uh somebody that is >> in a better condition >> than you? >> Yeah. >> No, leave the door open. >> Yeah. >> Marica, where are you? All right. Come back this way. Marica, >> what is it? [crying] Come here, baby. >> Nope. >> She call >> somebody that is not as high as she is. >> Mom, grandparent. >> Nobody. I asked her to get somebody that is not >> on that high. >> When's the last time you seen your child? >> Today. >> What time? >> You're 512. >> What time? >> What time is the last time you seen your child? Hey, buddy. you okay? [crying] >> There was no evaluation for any type of special needs. >> So yeah, dude, look. You want one of those? >> YOU WANT THAT? [screaming] >> What do you say? Say thank you. >> Put it right where it goes. Okay. >> Say thank you. >> There you go, buddy. There you go. >> Say thank you. >> That's awesome. That's awesome. >> Cool, man. >> Cool. >> Say thank you. >> Yeah. Cool. All right. >> Have a seat here and then we're going to take him inside to play with the doggy. Not you, buddy. Your mom. >> We don't have a dog. >> No, we brought him a police dog to cuddle up with. >> No, he isn't. >> Of course. >> The police dog wasn't the typical canine that sniffs drugs or chases down suspects. It was a therapy dog which was actually perfect for this situation. The kid went inside to play with the dog and the officers discussed their next steps. >> Start. I'm thinking might be a little neglect going on. >> Yeah. He's high as a kite. >> Yeah. I didn't smell anything in the house when the door opened. So, it might be vaping pills or something. >> Binger pills. The kid has special needs obviously. And he's >> Yeah, cuz he they said he was oh for like man >> missing dirty diaper, unattentive mom, obviously high on drugs and she's fallen and doesn't know how she's hurt herself. >> Your child is wandering around the street. >> You don't know where he is. You don't know how long he's been gone. >> He wasn't gone very long because >> But you don't know how long he's been gone. >> He wasn't gone very long because what? >> So I need to know what kind of drugs you're on. I can promise you I don't do drugs. I've never done drugs. I don't do anything. No. >> No overthe counter like sleep medication. >> Nothing. >> I can't do drugs. I don't do drugs. >> So right now sober is enough. >> So I Yeah. I don't do drugs. I can't do drugs. Like I can promise you. >> There's not like a single thing that >> Is that a storage? >> Yes. >> What about alcohol? Marissa was adamant she didn't take any drugs, but alcohol was a different matter altogether. She admitted to having a drink, but she couldn't say exactly what it was. >> Was it beer? Was it What was it? Just a drink and then >> like was it What kind of alcohol was it? >> Beer. >> What flavor? >> What was it? >> You're very funny and I don't like you. I'm just going to pick that up. >> That's okay. Just just give you a little perspective, right? Our job is to investigate crimes. >> Yes. >> And if we got a four-year-old running around with dirty diapers who can't tell us where he lives or who mom is or anything else because he's really essentially non-verbal, that's a potential crime. So, we're investigating a crime. That's why we're asking you questions because it could have been something simple like, "Yeah, he just snuck out when you weren't looking." >> Well, no, he did. or you >> because of your your drinking >> you rendered yourself incapable of taking good care of him and he snuck out. >> Marissa was adamant that this had never happened before. The officers tried to get back to her drinking, but she once again deflected it to the child. She clearly failed to understand the seriousness of the situation. >> You could start by stopping so aggressively. >> You're not going to tell me what to do. First of all, >> go ahead and stand up. Just put your hands behind your back. Okay. >> Yep. Yeah, you will. >> You will. >> Okay. We'll see. >> We'll see. We'll see how that works. >> We tried to be very nice and try to figure out your situation. >> Take a jacket off. >> You take this sweater off. You're not It's not very >> Well, you can't take him to jail with you. A nice out. >> Can we get you some shorts? >> I can go grab some. >> No, you're not. You're in our custody now. >> Okay. Well, see, this is not necessary. That is because you cannot >> my friend's not here. >> You cannot put us at ease that you are able to take care of your child and it's limited by your actions and what happened today that you are not able to take care of your child. Do you understand that? >> No, I am not. >> You are not. >> The intoxicated mother claimed the officers were too aggressive but didn't resist. She even had a smirk on her face but showed just how intoxicated she was. The officer decided to put things into perspective for her. >> You are not in the right state to take care of a child. I am. >> That's why we were here today. We tried to have you put our fears at ease. You cannot You cannot explain yourself. Are you >> I can explain myself. You chose not to listen to me. And I said he was fine. This was a one time off. However, you came very aggressive. So, I didn't feel at ease. >> Okay, understandable. Did you thank my deputies for locating your child? >> Did you thank anybody? That's something a normal mother who wasn't impaired would do. Okay. >> Luckily, a neighbor soon came to look after the boy. Marissa was taken to jail and charged with child neglect. Some traffic stops reveal more than expired tags or a busted tail light. On June 6th, 2023, what started as a routine traffic stop quickly turned into something far more disturbing. >> How's it going? >> Hey. >> Hey, Mr. Smith. This is Steven. >> Who? >> Steven. >> Okay. >> Talked to you a couple times. >> Okay. Uh you don't have a tag on your uh trailer, >> but there is a tag. There is one for it >> if you put in Jerry William Howard second. >> Okay. Well, see, I'm not I don't have a crystal ball. And if there's no tag on them, I can't make heads or tails of it. >> Yes, sir. >> So, there's not a tag on the vehic on the trailer at all. >> You got your license on you? >> No, sir, I don't. >> I hurt my hand. >> You hurt your hand? >> Uhhuh. >> You ain't You're able to eat though? >> Yeah, but I can't do like this, but my >> You got your driver's license, man? I don't have >> You don't have a driver's license? >> All right. Step out for us. Can you roll this window down? Just step back here for me. >> So, whose vehicle is this? >> Uh, where you guys coming from? >> Uh, we were coming from Walmart. She had to meet her mom there to get some money and we're going to stop in here to get some ice and some water for the cooler at the house. >> These two look like adults who should be capable of taking care of themselves. But in reality, they are like two kids asking their parents for money for ice cream. Not to mention, they look very suspicious. >> Is there anything illegal in the vehicle? Any illegal narcotics, anything like that? >> Just the kids. >> There's kids in there? >> Yes, sir. >> I didn't see any kids. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. >> Do y'all have a show? >> They're just documenting us what we do. That's all. >> And you got that many suspensions. >> What's your name? Uh, pulled me over like a month and a half ago. He said I didn't have no habitual or nothing on it. >> No, I didn't say you had habitual. That many suspensions, you don't you don't have a license at all. >> You can't drive, dude. You're gonna go to jail. I know. >> You know, and because of all the past arrests you've had. >> How many times you been arrested for driving? >> For driving? >> Yeah. >> Just once? >> All right. This will be number >> forever ago. >> Okay. Well, if if you got arrested today, it' be number two. Your third one's a felony. >> Yeah. >> No. No. Cuz you got a DUI. The driver claimed that he got behind the wheel because his girlfriend hurt her hand. But the officers feel there's more going on there than just driving without a license. As they huddle up to revise the situation, one of them voices his concerns. >> She's got a valid license. And of course, he doesn't he's not habitual anything. He's got one priority for for driving, but uh there's no reason why she can't drive. There was something when I walked up there. She reached underneath the seat or something. 99's on his way. >> Okay. How many How many youngies is in the car? >> Okay. Well, y'all would step out. >> Hey, shoot. >> Am I able to get the ball? >> When we get done, step over here, buddy. >> Hey, she's sitting on the pipe. I knew she put something under there. >> Sorry. It's really dirty. >> Yeah, >> I don't have a vacuum right now. Like working on her property. >> As soon as the officer approached the passenger side, he noticed a marijuana pipe in plain view. The woman said she did not have a medical marijuana card, but the officer replied he wasn't worried about the weed. Still, it gave him probable cause to do a more thorough search. Ain't nothing in the vehicle that's going to get you in trouble today. >> I guess she has that in there. >> Feel it. She was hiding something. It was a box full. You ever need a spare tooth? >> That's gross. Residue in that straw. I don't know, but it's worth checking for sure. >> She was hiding that what she was doing. I walked, she I scared her. She didn't see me standing where I was at. I asked her if she had anything on her, and she kind of looked away. So, >> officers of the law are often granted early retirement due to the stressful nature of the job. And sorting through this mess definitely qualifies as such. One of the officers decided it would be smarter to just question the suspect instead. >> You able to walk back here real quick? Yep. You bring your popcorn. >> We're just going to go in front of this gold car. Um I'm super easygoing. Okay. As long >> I know. >> As long as you're honest with me, I can work with you. If you lie to me, there ain't nothing I can do for you. Okay. >> No. >> So, with that being said, there is a female coming out here. Do you have anything on you that's going to get you in trouble? >> No. >> You don't have anything in your bra? Nothing in your pants? >> No. >> Okay. She's going to come out here and check. >> Okay. So, I just didn't want you to lie and >> to go to charge. Okay. >> All right. Hang back up here. >> Little girl wants to go to bed. >> If mama wants to let them go in there by themselves. >> If they can go in there by themselves. No, we can't let you. >> Okay. Well, just hang tight just >> I can't let you go in there right now. The officers didn't initially find any drugs, but they were smart enough to test a plastic straw that was in front of the driver. They must have had superhuman instincts because it did test positive for methamphetamines. That's when one of the senior officers realized he knew the female suspect. >> I know who you are. >> You ain't made good choices, have you? >> No, you're not. >> No, you're not. If you if you got drug illegal narcotics then you be not working on your life except making it worse. So don't don't kid yourself. >> We're not trying to be mean or disrespectful, but we wouldn't be in this situation. We wouldn't be in this situation if you were driving if you had a tag on a vehicle and you didn't have >> Huh. I've had this trailer for a year and no one spoke with me about her. >> As it turned out, the reason this officer knew the suspect was that she was his daughter's high school friend. As the officers discussed the possibility of the suspect having drugs on her person, a female officer arrived at the scene. >> When I asked her if she had anything on her, she kind of not looking. She's reaching her pocket right or she's reaching in his pocket. >> She's reaching in her waistband. What did you just do? >> Huh? >> Nope. We're not playing that. Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Ma'am, stand up. >> Stand up. >> Stand up. >> Check his back waistband. >> If you just put something in him, he's going to be taken away from you. Did you or [clears throat] did you not? >> No. >> You didn't put anything in his pants. >> This coin purse. Honey, I got to get this out. Okay. >> Are you kidding me? >> Really? >> Are you me? Do not reach up. >> Turn around. >> Turn around. Put your hands behind your back. >> I didn't ask you. I told you to put your hands behind your back. >> Philip, take her over there, please. She just put that in his pants. >> I'm sorry. >> Okay, baby. Relax. It's okay. >> Okay. Hey, listen. STOP. STOP. STOP. HEY, LISTEN. Do you have anything else on you? >> No. >> Okay. >> Some people would do anything to get out of trouble. When this woman saw the female officer had arrived, she knew her time was up. She had to get rid of the drugs. And what's probably the last place anyone would look for drugs, her son's pants. >> Yeah. I cannot believe she was watching me. As soon as you pulled up, she I watched her put it in the back of his pants. >> What the Jimmy? I hate when people involve like that. >> Man, I hate I hate I got an attitude with you, but that really pisses me off when you start diving off into kids with stuff like that. That's That's ridiculous. >> I told her no. I'm sorry, sir. >> Well, if she Why you going to get her out of jail? I didn't cuz I she know I got you. >> Yeah. And you see what she's >> I'm sorry. >> Can I call her to come and get him? >> You can call her. >> I charge her with child endangerment. Well, I don't have gloves on. You want to test this real quick? >> I could not believe. Dude, I got goosebumps that pissed me off. >> The female officer got on the phone with the children's grandmother, asking her to come and pick them up. Judging by her tone, the woman wasn't too surprised that her daughter had been caught with drugs. >> Okay. Yes, ma'am. I appreciate it. >> Okay, here you go. >> How? >> She She's on her way, honey. >> When your grandma gets here, we'll just talk to her and let her know everything that's going on and then she can take you. Okay. >> Yes. For what? For the possession of that. >> I didn't have that. I didn't know that was there. I was just Have a seat. I was honest and everything. >> Can the kids have my money, please? >> We'll talk about that. Just Just have a seat for a little bit. >> Officer Smith, I do not >> That's a positive test. >> Well, sir, I do not. >> Okay. Well, it was in that little That was a little heart in the little box. >> Yes. >> And that's what that's what it says. Both suspects were charged with possession, but the woman faced an additional charge of child endangerment. The officers were clearly appalled by what she did, but who wouldn't be, right? Speaking of unlikely traffic stops that take a wild turn, on August 4th, 2024, two officers attempted to pull over an SUV. But before they even had a chance to step out of their cruiser, the driver hit the gas, starting one of the weirdest police chases you'll ever see. >> Watch out. Watch out. Stop. >> You got that going east right now. Just >> get some fixed up. >> Oh, just hold the traffic. We're going around in circles. All right. At this point, we're in Geneva and Cook again. I think we're gonna be making a left, sorry, right south. >> Let's get stops somewhere or if we could She's going around the same way. Right, if you're in here, see if we can uh block her off, please. >> Another patrol unit joined the pursuit. And it didn't take long for the officers to realize the suspect was just driving in circles. They knew they had to put an end to the chase as soon as possible. So the second police officer pulled over and grabbed his stopsticks. Go. Stop stick right there. Chief, hold up. Got him. Hold up. Yep. >> Oh, we had stops. She hit. >> Got him. Careful, Jeez. Careful. >> Hey. Hey. Please get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the car right now, >> ma'am. Get out of the car. >> The officers were on high alert because they didn't know who was in that SUV or what they might do next. As the officer who deployed the stopsticks moved in to block the SUV from the rear. His dash cam caught something shocking. A child had exited the vehicle and was standing on the curb. >> Show me your hands. >> Show me your hands. You're okay, sweetie. You're okay, Chief. Chief, grab the kid. >> No. No. No. Nope. Hey, hold on. Hold that. Hold that. Hold that. >> I got it. Crash, crash, crash, >> crash, crash, crash. >> Gray, I'm coming up behind you. >> Geneva, I'm pinning. Running away from the cops by driving in circles is already stupid enough, but continuing to do so with four flat tires is absolutely idiotic. There was no possible way the suspect could have escaped that way. So, the chase eventually ended the only way it could. >> Get the out of the car right now. Get out of the car. Get out [screaming] OF THE CAR. GET OUT OF THE CAR. GET OUT OF THE CAR. Get out of the car. Get the out of the grill. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. Get on the ground. It's going to be silky. Get on the ground. You're on the ground. Right. What are you doing? Hey, you must come. >> Sure kids. >> The female officer was convinced she had seen more children inside the vehicle. Luckily, she was wrong. As for the suspect, regardless of what she'd done, she still had the right to receive medical attention. That is, if she'd want to. >> Are you injured? Are you injured? >> No. >> Okay. >> Ray, you okay? >> I'm good. >> Okay. >> Yep. I just pinned with our car to stop it. So, we'll get there when we're all done. But >> So, can you take some pictures, please? >> Yep. >> Thank you, ma'am. What's your first name? >> Alicia. >> Alicia, what's going on today? My name's Katie. Okay. Is there anything we could help you out with? Are you okay? >> Can you take your hand off? >> I can't. I can't, unfortunately. What's going on today? I'm just trying to wake up from a bad really bad dream. >> Okay. Okay. >> I'm trying to wake up from a really bad dream and we're all living in the basement. >> Okay. >> I copy. She just told me she's trying to wake up from a bad dream. >> I'm not crazy. >> Okay. No, no, no. We're just worried about you. >> We're just worried about you. Okay. Is there anybody else in the car? >> No. You have my daughter? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Okay. If there's a silver lining in all this, it's that the child was smart and brave enough to get out of that car on her own. While waiting for EMS to arrive and check on the mother, Alicia, the officer attempted to get more information from her in the hopes of understanding what happened. >> Whose car is this? >> It's my vehicle. >> Is your vehicle? Is it registered to you, too? >> Yes, it is. >> Okay. Okay. >> Oh, I'm sorry. >> It's okay. >> I'm not really sorry, though. >> No, it's all good. And does [clears throat] this happen a lot? No, this is the first time for >> first time. Okay. >> Yeah, maybe it's happened one other time. >> One other time up in Meertton or somewhere else. >> I'm not really sure because um I have PTSD and CPTSD and my memories aren't that great. >> Okay. Is there any weapons in the car for my safety here? >> I'm not sure. >> Not sure. No like firearms. >> I don't have any firearms. No. >> Okay. >> Are you okay? >> Hi, my name is Tim. I'm with the fire department. What happened? >> Uh I was driving in a bunch of circles. Uh repeatedly and then I passed into the vehicle cuz I was going too fast. >> Okay. Any alcohol today? >> No sir. >> Okay. Any drugs? >> Yes sir. >> What drugs did you take today? >> Uh co. Okay. Do you know how much? >> Uh I really don't honestly. >> When EMS arrived to evaluate her for any injuries, she brushed them off saying she just needed to rest, but it was clear she wasn't in any condition to make sound decisions. So, the EMS decided to take her to a hospital for her own safety. >> You okay if we check you out in the ambulance, make sure you're not hurt? >> No, that's all right. I don't >> All righty. I think we should check you out, though. >> Oh, I'm cool. >> How about we just take you in the ambulance and check you out, check your vitals, make sure you're all >> good. I need to buy you a little water. >> Will you stand up if we help you? >> Not right now. I just need a second. >> Search her. >> I have not searched her. No. >> I'm going to have you roll up on your side. Okay. Uh, you ready to stand up with me? I'm going to get you on your butt. Okay. >> One more second, please. >> Can I get you on your butt at least? >> No, I just second, >> please. I just need one second. >> All right, here we go. On your butt. >> On your feet. >> Thanks. I have you sit right here. Here we go. Swing your feet up on there for us. Excellent. Once again, Alicia refused any medical aid. After being cleared by EMS, the officers decided to do a field sobriety test. At moments, Alicia seemed to be completely cognizant, but seconds later, her mind would wander off, and it was clear the drugs were still in her system. >> Do prescription glasses or contacts? >> Documents. No, it's okay. I figured I'd ask. So, I'm going to move my finger from side to side. I want you to focus right here on the tip of my finger and then don't move your head. Just follow with your eyes. Does that make sense? >> Does that make sense? >> I think you might be answering. >> I'm sorry. I was just overthinking. >> That's okay. Do you do you understand though what I'm saying? >> Yes, I can understand the words you're saying, but I can't concentrate right now. >> I understand. There's probably a lot of stuff going through your mind. >> I'm sorry. Can I have a moment? >> Yeah. I'm just tell >> I'm gonna have to have you stand back up so we can complete the test. Unless you don't want to complete the test. >> Honestly, I really I don't >> All you have to do is just do your best. Okay. >> Could you repeat that? >> Just do your best. That's all you have to do. Okay. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> So, where we left off was follow my finger right here. It's difficult to say that Alicia failed the field sobriety test because it looked as if she wasn't even present. After she refused a breathalyzer test, the officers informed her she was being arrested for DUI and then took her to jail. The only thing that's even more reckless than running from the police with your kid in the car is driving on the highway with your back door wide open. Yeah, that happened on August 27th, 2022 and concerned citizens immediately called the police. >> How you doing, man? >> Was the door open? >> The door came open and we did not do it on purpose. That's why I pulled over. >> Was this the door that came open? >> Yes, sir. >> Just hang tight for one second, man. You can if you need to crack this, you can. >> Yes, sir. But nonetheless, the door swung open and that's why I pulled over in the parking lot to close the door. I would never endanger my children. How dare you disrespect my >> So, we got a call that the van was traveling southbound. >> Um, and that the door was wide open and people could see kids inside so it it comes off, you know. >> She insisted her kids were safe, but chances are most people, including the police officers, would strongly disagree. Confronting a parent about possible child neglect is never easy. The woman became extremely defensive and hostile, which made the situation very volatile. >> Did you all say something was Is there something wrong with the >> Yes, it is. And that's why we're going to the auto shop to get it fixed right now. The door came open and now I pulled over in this parking lot to close it. He's saying that the door was open a long time ago. So unless he has proof, legitimate proof, that is a lie. So that's why I pulled over in this parking lot. >> Okay, I'm okay. You can be lie with him, but I'm talking to you nicely. Like I said, I'm figuring out what's going on. I just got here. What? Where did you say the door came open at? >> Coming coming down this road. Coming right down this road. And when it came open, I pulled over to close the door and that's what he pulled up behind me. >> Okay. >> So unless he has it on video camera. >> Well, we have a witness that called in. That's That's what we're saying. >> That is not your case. And I don't >> I don't I don't think anybody would just randomly call for a door open. >> Door has issues. >> Yeah. And I I I'm not disagreeing. If the door has issues, that's one thing. >> Okay. problem. >> Ma'am, how long have you been having problems with the door? If you don't mind me asking. >> I do and I'm not answering. Okay. >> Sir, what's taking so long? It's hot out here. >> I I get a tie, but I they're talking so I don't know what's going on. >> I can find out what's going on. >> Well, don't get out now because >> what >> the entitled Karen showed zero respect towards law enforcement and did in fact try to exit the vehicle. She clearly failed to understand the gravity of the situation. So the female officer tried to explain it to her. >> You don't tell me to stay. >> I don't think so. I'd like to know what's going on. >> All right. >> There's no incident. Door came open. I pulled over. You got for picking up some money back system, right? Give me my ticket so I can go through. >> All right. Okay. You understand that? >> About the door coming open. our children in the vehicle. We are mandated reporters and let them know that they stop whether it was whe charge you with obstruction. Are you going to give us that information? No. Okay. And we'll charge you with that. The couple refused to give any information, making a tough situation even more difficult. The male officer then started chatting with the passenger who inadvertently admitted they knew the door had been faulty for some time. >> It's possible you can stand right here, open up the door so the cigarette won't be bad on the kids. Man, >> I'm just going to crack it. Man, >> I usually don't do that, but you're being cooperative. So, like I said, I'll work with you if you work with me. Is this the first time it's happened with the kids in the car? Is the door okay? Usually I have it tied up. >> Yeah. >> But you can see it's thinning it in like >> and social services they know that our car is having issues. >> Okay. >> So it's not like they don't know. So if you guys need to report it then it's not like they don't know that we have issues with this car. This is our >> I mean I I we'll make it make them aware too that you're going to get it fixed too. >> Yeah. >> Because at the end of the day it can be a safety hazard. And I know you know that it can be a safety manner. Like this is >> this is the first time it happened. Otherwise I wouldn't. >> Yeah. Of course, it would play a whole different deal if the kids were in seat belts and this was open. That would that would been looked at a lot different. >> Never do that. >> No, cuz you'd be surprised how many people we pull over and the kids aren't in seat belts. >> Oh my god. It's >> The woman pretends as if she would never endanger her kids. Yet just a minute ago, she admitted the social services were aware of the car issue. That means that despite knowing the door was faulty, she still took her kids for a ride. >> All right, Miss Warhand. Here's your driver's license. So, I've got some citations for you. These are your copies. So, you're going to be cited three times today. You're going to be cited for reckless driving with the door open. And they're going to have two um citations for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, one for each child. All right. So, this is all >> being contributed to a delinquent of a minor. >> So, putting them in danger. Okay. So, you've got a court date of September 14th at 8:15. That's gonna be >> So you charged me with putting my children in danger on purpose when you know what I told you the door sling open by itself by accident. You still charged your mother putting her children in danger. Yes, I listened to what you said. And yes, I will see you in court because that is not the truth. >> Okay. Well, we've got information that the doors were open all the way from Short Lane. You guys were in the in the gas station up there. You left the gas station. The doors were open all the way down 17. I saw you with the door open and then when I pulled out that's when you closed the door and pulled into here. So we'll that I'm going to give you your court date and then we'll talk about it in court. >> We all know that the truth hurts. Mrs. Forehand wasn't angry about her kids being in danger. She was furious when the officer told her it was her fault. >> So what I need from you is I need you to sign all three of these. It's not admission of guilt. It's just saying that you understand that you have a court date and that you appear those court dates. Okay? >> So I'll give it to you one at a time. I'll give them to you one at a time because they're carbon copy. So, right here at the X. Okay. >> Shame on you. >> Hold on. Hey, Lit. Ma'am, >> shame on you. >> Don't snatch for me. Okay. >> Shame on you for trying TO SAY THAT WILL HURT MY CHILDREN. >> STOP. >> LISTEN. >> I need you to settle down. Okay, I need you to settle down. >> How dare you say I would try to hurt my children? >> We'll talk about it in court, but you need to settle down right now. >> You expect me to settle down >> beforehand? You have to You have to settle down. >> YOU SAID I WAS TRYING TO HURT my children. I didn't say you were trying to hurt your children. >> That's pretty much what you wrote me a ticket for, >> Miss. >> No, >> you need to calm down or we're going to have social services come up here. >> All right. >> Settle down. Just sign a paper in front of the kids. >> Give me the paper. >> So, look, I I need you to do this a certain way because they're carbon copy and I don't want you to sign through them. Okay. >> No matter how many times the officer said that signing the papers was not an admission of guilt. It was just too bitter of a pill for her to swallow. The officer did his best to deescalate the situation, but it wasn't easy. >> So, sign right here, the X. It's not an admission of guilt. It's just sounds like to me, >> it's not an admission of guilt. It's just saying that you will go to court. That's all. >> It's just stating that you promise to appear in court. That is it. >> Okay. The pen is right there. You put the pen down. >> Give me the pen. Ma'am, you put the pen. >> I got the pen. Give me the paper so I can sign it. Please. >> You got to calm down. >> Listen, you got to calm down. I PUT THEM IN DANGER. YOU got one more time before we have social before we have social services come here. >> No. No. No. >> Okay. >> Are you going to settle down so you can sign these summones? It's the only time I'm going to ask you. >> Give me the paper. >> So, give me the clipboard. >> You're allowed to be upset. You're just not allowed to act like this. >> Just sign any way I want to. You don't control me. >> Not in front of your kids. Not on top. >> You just You just pretty much said enough in front of my children. Thank you, sir. >> Thank you. >> I apologize for any misperception. She's mad. >> She's a mother. >> She's allowed to be upset. >> I understand she's upset. >> All right. Drive safe. >> Mrs. Forehand reluctantly signed the papers. Seeing how distressed she was, the officer suggested she let her husband drive. Later that same day, they were called in for a shoplifting incident. Lo and behold, it was Mrs. Forehand again. Even worse, she committed the crime while holding one of her children by the hand. >> Hi. >> Hi. >> I need to speak with you again. >> And if you want to send him over to the car, I can talk to just you by yourself. It's because something happened at Walmart. We don't need him to hear it. >> Okay. >> Walmart. >> Do you want to send him with the others? >> No. >> Why? It's going to be Ken beforehand again. >> Do what, ma'am? >> I will talk to you, but I just want to do it in front of your child. Okay. >> Do what? Mission, I will speak to you, okay? And it's going to be just me and you. We're going to wait until And then I'm going to let you leave. I just have to speak to you real quick. And it's about something at Walmart. >> At Walmart? >> Mhm. >> Are you kidding me? >> No, ma'am. >> Arrest me for >> I'm not going to arrest you. I'm not going to arrest you. >> I just need to speak to you and I don't want to do it in front of your child. >> Right now. >> Okay. Then I'll speak to you right now. In front of your child, which is what I was trying to avoid earlier. However, you have now been banned from Walmart. You are absolutely not allowed to come back. If you come back, you will be charged with trespassing. And they're probably going to charge you with lararseny because they have you on record as stealing through selfch checkckout. >> Okay. >> Now, you've been told. So, if you come back, you'll be trespassed. Understood. >> Mrs. Forehand didn't get arrested that day, but it eventually had to happen. She was charged with shoplifting and altering merchandise under $1,000 and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
